  2. EARS to you! Yes, you! On behalf of The Walt Disney Company and Make-A-Wish®, thank you for showing off, posting and hashtagging your EAR-resistable “Mickey Mouse ears” and creative “ears” photos as part of this year’s #ShareYourEars campaign! Your incredible photos will help Make-A-Wish grant life-changing wishes for kids with critical illnesses around the world. We are having fun watching the original and creative ways you’re sharing your Mickey-inspired ears in honor of Mickey’s 90th. So much fun in fact, that to keep Mickey’s 90th celebration going, Disney has added a second phase to the #ShareYourEars campaign! “In 2018, we’ve taken our collaboration with Make-A-Wish to a new level. This year’s #ShareYourEars Campaign is our biggest, yet. This year, we’re giving up to $3 million – our largest donation, ever,” said Bob Chapek, Chairman, Disney Parks, Experiences and Consumer Products. From November 18 through Giving Tuesday on November 27, 2018, take a photo showing off your “Mickey Mouse ears” – or any creative “ears” – and upload it to Facebook, Instagram or Twitter. For every public post with #ShareYourEars, Disney will donate US $5 to Make-A-Wish, up to US $1 million – for a total goal of US $3M – to grant even more wishes. Don’t own a pair of Mickey ears? No problem! Get crafty and try two bagels, tennis balls or even plates as ears. If you’re planning a trip to Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort or Disneyland Paris, try to find all of the #ShareYourEars mural walls, exclusively designed for the campaign by Walt Disney Imagineering. Whether in your home or in front of Cinderella Castle, it’s never been easier to show your support, celebrate Mickey’s birthday and #ShareYourEars! So grab your friends and family, post a picture of your finest pair of “ears” to Facebook, Instagram or Twitter with the hashtag #ShareYourEars and spread some chEAR! Learn more at ShareYourEars.org. 3. A little while ago, I told you about “19 Magical New and Limited-Time Experiences Coming to Walt Disney World Resort in 2019.” We’re now officially counting down to Jan. 18, 2019, when all this fun and excitement begins, and I have even MORE details to get you pumped for next year. Starting Jan. 18, Mickey & Minnie’s Surprise Celebration at Magic Kingdom Park will honor those true originals, Mickey and Minnie Mouse, with new entertainment, merchandise and specialty food and beverages. Here are some additional details about this limited-time event I’m happy to share with you today: Mickey and Minnie will greet guests together inside Town Square Theater, sporting all-new colorful outfits for their special celebration. The new Celebration Station inside Town Square Theater will be a must visit, as you can sign a guestbook to let Mickey and Minnie know, personally, just how much fun you’re having during their party. An all-new song, “It’s a Good Time,” will play several times daily as part of the new “Move It! Shake It! MousekeDance It! Street Party.” During this high-energy bash, you will be able to join in the fun with all your pals, including Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Goofy and many others. Mickey’s beloved dog, Pluto, will meet guests under the big top at Pete’s Silly Sideshow in Storybook Circus. Also, 2019 marks 30 years of magical movie moments at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, so to commemorate this special occasion, on Jan. 18 the park will unveil a new 30th anniversary logo. There will also be new ways to interact with The Incredibles (you’ll get to meet Edna Mode at her new super-suit gallery!) and Mike and Sulley from Disney•Pixar’s “Monsters, Inc.” You’ll also want to experience the new “Disney Junior Dance Party!” featuring Vampirina, Doc McStuffins and other favorite Disney Junior characters having fun in a high-energy live show. And remember: The Epcot International Festival of the Arts starts Jan. 18, featuring an expanded Disney on Broadway Concert Series, as well as a chance to say a fond farewell to “IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth,” which will be ending in the second half of 2019 to make way for an all-new nighttime spectacular. Over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Rafiki and Timon will take you for a walk on the wild side on Discovery Island with the new “Hakuna Matata Time Dance Party.” Now, more than ever it’s time for a Walt Disney World vacation. These new parties and characters are only 60 days away! We’re so excited, we’ve posted a countdown clock over at Disneyworld.com/nowmorethanever. Will you be at Walt Disney World when all this fun begins on the morning of Jan. 18, 2019? I hope so! View the full article

  5. In this week’s Disney Doodle, artist Ashley Taylor imagines what the characters, Jenny and Joe, from the short “Once Upon A Wintertime” would do if they could visit the Walt Disney World Resort during the holidays. In “Once Upon A Wintertime,” Jenny and Joe enjoy a lovely winter sleigh ride, so it’s only natural that these lovebirds may seek out more winter fun here at the resort. “‘Once Upon A Wintertime’ is such a romantic animated short,” Ashley said. “It’s easy to imagine the characters taking a scenic holiday sleigh ride through Disney’s Port Orleans Resort!” View the full article

  7. Disneyland’s Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor can always be relied upon to come up with some indulgent and tasty ice cream sundaes — and this Christmas season is no different. This year, Gibson Girl is offering up a Peppermint Holiday Sundae. Of course, we had to stop here on our Epic Holiday Food Crawl! Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor One of our favorite things about Gibson Girl is how good their sundaes look — these aren’t you’re average sundaes made in a bowl and handed to you — these are picture-perfect indulgences. The Peppermint Holiday Sundae is served in a waffle cone bowl that has been dipped in chocolate and garnished with crushed peppermint. (We warned you about the peppermint bomb that exploded in Disneyland!) Gibson Girl Holiday Menu Look at this! We’d go so far as to say this sundae is basically a moat of hot fudge (hot fudge > chocolate sauce ALL DAY) around scoops of peppermint ice cream all topped with whipped cream — and crushed peppermint on the whipped cream, with crushed peppermint on the bowl! Peppermint Holiday Ice Cream Sundae Seriously, look at the amount of chocolate in this sundae! Peppermint Holiday Ice Cream Sundae We really enjoyed this, especially the hot fudge. We might go so far as to say that’s the stand out in this sundae. You really can’t go wrong with chocolate and peppermint in our view, so this was really enjoyable for us. Peppermint Holiday Ice Cream Sundae If you’re a peppermint or chocolate fan be sure to have Gibson Girl on your list this season! 8. A special piece of animation was introduced to the world on November 18, 1928 when Mickey Mouse appeared in Steamboat Willie. This past weekend, we celebrated the 90 Year Anniversary all over Walt Disney World. Art of Animation Resort So it’s fitting that we’re checking out What’s New at the Disney World Resort which celebrates the art of Disney films: Disney’s Art of Animation Resort! Ink and Paint Shop Our first stop is the Ink and Paint Shop, where you’ll find the Birthday Mouse on holiday themed sketches (with some available to be personalized). SUPER cute gift idea for any Disney fans on your list. Holiday Sketches Mickey and Minnie Sketch Print And specialty Resort merchandise includes new Art of Animation twist pens that resemble paint brushes! Ink and Paint Shop merchandise Art of Animation Paint Brush Pens Art of Animation Paint Brush Pen Art of Animation Hat And we continue to spot these adorable character Light-up Hair Bows all around Disney World. Ariel Light-Up Hair Bow The Ink & Paint Shop is carrying the Ariel Bow, in light (ha!) of The Little Mermaid section of the Resort. Art of Animation Resort Landscape of Flavors Pumpkin Whoopie Pies are back at the Landscape of Flavors Food Court! Pumpkin Whoopie Pie And current specialty cupcakes include the Millennial Pink Cupcake, the Mickey Vanilla Oreo Cupcake, and the Funfetti Cupcake. Millennial Pink Cupcake Mickey Oreo Cupcake Funfetti Cupcake And now that cooler temps are — at long last! — starting to arrive in Florida, you may want to keep an eye on the offered Soups. Landscape of Flavors Soups The Chef’s Selection Soup was New England Clam Chowder during our visit. Finding Nemo Section Just a heads up that parts of the building close to the bridge of the Finding Nemo section of the Resort are still being worked on. Finding Nemo Section work But that’s not the only construction going on at Art of Animation… Finding Nemo Section Disney Skyliner Work continues at a consistently busy pace on the Art of Animation and Pop Century station for the upcoming Disney Skyliner! Pop Century and Art of Animation Skyliner Construction In fact, and opening season has just been announced for the transportation system which will also connect two additional Resorts, Epcot, and Hollywood Studios: it will start to carry guests in fall of 2019! 9. The Epcot International Festival of the Holidays is ON! This annual Epcot Festival just kicked off today and runs through December 30, 2018. And in addition to over a dozen international food booths, guests will be entertained by Holiday Storytellers and the Candlelight Processional, which share cultural traditions for the holidays around the world. Green Tea ‘Yule’ Log at Festival of the Holidays Returning this year is Chip & Dale’s Christmas Tree Spree — a festive kid-friendly Scavenger Hunt similar to Remy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak Scavenger Hunt from the Food and Wine Festival. Only for the holidays, we’re helping Chip & Dale collect ornaments to decorate their Christmas Tree. And this year, the expanded Peace on Earth holiday version of IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth carries additional significance since this is the final holiday season for the IllumiNations nighttime spectacular before it is replaced with an all-new show in 2019. But our favorite thing about the Festival? It’s the HOLIDAY FOOD BOOTHS! Holiday Kitchens offer enhanced food offerings around Epcot, serving cuisine from around the globe reflecting various cultures and holiday traditions. CLICK HERE for pictures of EVERY FOOD ITEM AT THE BOOTHS, PLUS prices and menus! We’ve been eating our way around Epcot to determine the Best of the FEST! And now we’re sharing our favorite food and drinks with you… because we’ve tried them ALL, and we want you to know what you can’t miss at the Epcot Festival of the Holidays! Bouchée à la Reine Traditionnelle: Turkey and Mushrooms in a Veloute Cream Sauce served in a Light Puff Pastry at Le Marche De Noel Holiday Kitchen A traditional dish at the French Booth, the Turkey and Mushrooms in a Veloute Cream Sauce served in a Light Puff Pastry should be on your tasting list! The pastry was the best part of this (you can smell it as soon as you walk up to the France booth!), but the filling was savory and delicious as well. Bouchée à la Reine Traditionnelle An amazing addition to the Epcot festival! Whatever dish you choose, be sure to include the Spiced Rum Punch Slush in your order. Spiced Rum Punch Slush Mixed with Spiced Rum, Rhum Clement V.S.O.P., Orange and Pineapple Juice with Cinnamon, this specialty cocktail is sweet and tart at the same time. The “spiced rum” isn’t the overwhelming flavor — this is more fruity than spicy. New Year Celebration Soba at Shi Wasu Holiday Kitchen DFB’s 2018 pick at this Japanese holiday kitchen is the Buckwheat Soba Noodles in Hot Dashi Soup with Chicken and Spinach. New Year Celebration Soba You’ll want to get the Cinnamon Apple Cider made with Plum Wine, Orange Juice with Lemonade and Apples at Shi Wasu as well. We were surprised how much we enjoyed this one. Cinnamon Apple Cider Both are solid, seasonal choices! Potato Dumpling with Mushroom Sauce at Bavaria Holiday Kitchen The DFB team recommends the Potato Dumpling with Mushroom Sauce at the Bavaria Holiday Kitchen. Potato Dumpling with Mushroom Sauce Of course, the cheese fondue is a returning favorite! Cheese Fondue Ready for a seasonal sweet? Black Forest Roulade with Cherry Whipped Cream Dig into the Black Forest Roulade with Cherry Whipped Cream! Hand-carved Smoked Ham at American Holiday Table Holiday Kitchen At the American Holiday Table, we found a sweet and savory Hand-carved Smoked Ham with Green Beans and Sweet Potato Casserole. Hand-Carved Smoked Ham, Green Beans, and Sweet Potato Casserole Another returning favorite recommendation from the American Pavilion — Slow-roasted Turkey! Slow-Roasted Turkey Served with traditional sides of Stuffing, Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans and Cranberry Sauce, this dish delicious. Warm up with American Heritage Milk Chocolate Gourmet Hot Cocoa. American Heritage Milk Chocolate Gourmet Hot Cocoa with Wondermade Marshmallows Made with Wondermade Marshmallows, this cocoa is extra creamy and we could taste what sure seemed like real cocoa! ALL three are great options for kids, too! Potato Knish at L’Chaim! Holiday Kitchen Look for the Potato Knish with Herb Sour Cream at L’Chaim! Holiday Kitchen. Potato Knish With dough resembling a cross between a bagel and a pretzel, you’ll want to grab one of these! Another delicious option — Pastrami on Rye with House-made Pickles and Deli Mustard! This one is only for you if you’re a big deli fan, though. If you didn’t like pastrami before this, the dish won’t make you a believer. Pastrami on Rye And we can’t leave this holiday stop without mentioning the Black and White Cookie. This one was thick and cakey, which had our DFB team arguing a bit! Some members thought that a black and white should be thinner and larger, while some remembered their black and white cookie experiences being similar to this cookie — a thicker version with a more cakey texture. Which side do you fall on? Black and White Cookie The Black and White Cookie is part of the Holiday Cookie Stroll! Croissant Doughnut with Eggnog Pastry Cream and Gingersnap Crumbs at Taste Track Eggnog fans will enjoy the Croissant Doughnut with its sweet and spiced Eggnog Pastry Cream at Taste Track. Croissant Doughnut with Eggnog Pastry Cream A super tasty twist on traditional seasonal flavors! Pork and Vegetable Egg Rolls at Shanghai Holiday Kitchen Serving Pork and Vegetable Egg Rolls, go ahead and line up at the Shanghai Holiday Kitchen. These are super savory and flavorful — just plain yummy, even if they are pretty standard Chinese take-out egg rolls. Pork and Vegetable Egg Rolls Inside The Mongolian Beef Bao Bun with a Fortune Cookie was also one of our favorites this year! The sauce is excellent. Mongolian Beef Bao Bun and a Fortune Cookie The returning Celebration Barbecue Pork gets high marks again. Celebration Barbecue Pork You’ll definitely feel fortunate while savoring the flavors at Shanghai! Seared Salmon at Yukon Holiday Kitchen Yukon Holiday Kitchen serves up Seared Salmon with Crown Maple Whisky Glaze, Parsnip Silk, Apple Chutney, and Hazelnut Croquant. Seared Salmon with Crown Royal Whiskey Glaze Enjoy a Canadian favorite! Returning this year, we still recommend the Traditional French Canadian Tourtiere with Canadian Ketchup. Canadian Tourtiere with Canadian Ketchup Wash it all down with the popular Frozen Coffee with Tap 357 Whisky! Frozen Coffee Turkey Poutine at Refreshment Port A full meal, the Turkey poutine at Refreshment Port is served with Sweet Potato Fries, Turkey Gravy, Cranberry Relish, and Crispy Onions. Turkey Poutine from Refreshment Port This seasonal poutine was super flavorful. Warm Caramel Stuffed Salted Pretzel at Refreshment Outpost The Warm Caramel Stuffed Salted Pretzel with Soft-serve Ice Cream and Chocolate Sauce is a DFB 2018 favorite found at Refreshment Outpost. Warm Caramel Stuffed Salted Pretzel A sweet and salty treat! FESTIVAL WINNERS Enchilada de Pollo con Mole at Las Posadas Holiday Kitchen Serving festive Mexican cuisine, Las Posadas is our FESTIVAL WINNER for the 2018 Holiday Kitchens at Epcot’s Festival of the Holidays. While all dishes were great, the Enchilada de Pollo con Mole and La Posada Margarita were the stand-outs! Enchilada de Pollo con Mole The Chipotle Chicken in a Corn Tortilla is topped with Mole Negro and garnished with Shredded Oaxaca Cheese and Sesame Seeds. Very impressive! Your festive sips should include the La Posada Margarita. La Posada Margarita It’s mixed with Cazadores Blanco Tequila, Horchata-Cinnamon Liqueur, and Agua de Horchata topped with Cinnamon. Christmas in a cup. Warm Beignets at Sapphire Holiday Kitchen Our next winner of the 2018 Festival of the Holidays is Sapphire! While all the dishes here are worthy, one of our DFB team members found the “Sfenj” – Warm Beignets — to be the best thing she ate all day. Sfenj Cream, Cinnamon Sugar, Toasted Almonds, and Chocolate Sauce add to the sweetness of these beignets. CLICK HERE for pictures of EVERY FOOD ITEM AT THE BOOTHS, PLUS prices and menus! 10. We’re celebrating 90 years with Mickey Mouse at the parks of Walt Disney World this weekend, and what that means is lots, and lots, and lots of cake! Animal Kingdom Lodge’s quick service spot The Mara (home of our beloved Peanut Butter Brownie) is joining the party is a Happy Birthday Mickey Gateau that is way more than just a cake. Happy Birthday Mickey Gateau That’s because this cake is topped with a dome of smooth chocolate mousse! Naturally that dome has ears and a tail to celebrate the mighty Mouse. Additional decorations include dollops of bright white buttercream, loads of colorful sprinkles, and a happy birthday (edible) banner! Happy Birthday, Mickey! And the cake itself is delightful: soft, packed with chocolate chips, and truly lovely to eat! Seriously, this cake is a celebration — and large enough to share! All the components — including the abundant buttercream — do make it quite sweet, so bring along your sweet tooth! Happy Birthday, Mickey! If you’re near Animal Kingdom Lodge today, get this cake! 11. You love beignets? You love burgers? This might be right up your alley! New Beignet Burger at Sassagoula Debuting today at Port Orleans French Quarter’s Sassagoula Floatworks food court in Disney World is a sweet-meets-savory entree that seems like the perfect combo: the Beignet Burger. Beignet Burger menu This starts with the house made beignet bun and piles on a freshly cooked burger, American cheese, bacon jam, shredded lettuce, pickled onions, and homemade pickles. Beignet Burger The bun is thicker and more substantial than a standard beignet, so they’re not just using one of the regular beignets for this one. Inside the beignet burger So — here are my thoughts: this burger is a great concept. I love the sweet/savory idea, which has been done a few times before at Disney (one example is the cinnamon bun burger on the All Star Movies secret menu). But the beignet bun was tough and difficult to bite through, which seemed odd (beignets are supposed to be soft — they’re similar to donuts). Maybe it was overcooked. In this case, I liked that the burger was freshly made when I ordered it (though it was not made *to* order — I couldn’t specify doneness level, so it was a little overcooked for me as is the case with most Disney counter service burgers). But personally I would have preferred the burger without the lettuce, tomato, pickled onions, and pickles. I felt that to make the beignet’s sweetness stand out, there needed to be less going on in the burger overall. As-is, it’s too busy and just seems to be a regular burger with a slightly tougher bun and powdered sugar on top. So, while I wanted to love it, I think I would modify it a bit for myself on the next go-round for sure. But that jambalaya and praline are still incredible over at Sassagoula, so I’d definitely recommend those! Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! 14. Happy Birthday, Mickey Mouse! At D23’s Destination D: Celebrating Mickey Mouse, Disney Parks, Experiences and Consumer Products Chairman Bob Chapek celebrated 90 years of the iconic mouse. To commemorate this special milestone, the Disneyland Resort will kick off next year with Get Your Ears On – A Mickey and Minnie Celebration! Starting January 2019, guests will be invited to the biggest celebration of Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse in Disneyland history. Get Your Ears On will celebrate the beloved Mickey and Minnie, with exciting new entertainment and décor at Disneyland park, plus limited-time food and beverage offerings and festive event merchandise. Here’s how we’ll be celebrating: “Mickey’s Mix Magic”: The night will light up at Disneyland park with a new high-energy projection show, celebrating Mickey Mouse and creating a family-fun dance party atmosphere throughout the park. State-of-the-art projections, lighting and lasers will transform Main Street, U.S.A., the water screens of the Rivers of America and the façade of “it’s a small world” into a colorful, dazzling array of sights and sounds, with “DJ” Mickey spinning dance-tastic twists on favorite Disney melodies. And on select nights, “Mickey’s Mix Magic” will go sky high when the show is enhanced with the addition of fireworks. “Mickey’s Mix Magic,” will debut on Jan. 18. “Mickey’s Soundsational Parade“: This popular parade returns with a rockin’ new opening to kick off the party—Mickey Mouse will lead the way in a new larger-than-life opening, inspired by classic Mickey pull toys. Chip ‘n’ Dale will arrive with a giant celebration cake, as Mickey leads a whimsical musical procession of Disney characters. “Mickey’s Soundsational Parade” returns to Disneyland park on Jan. 25. Valentine’s Month: Celebrate the love of Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse during Valentine’s month! Disneyland park will feature lovely, festive Valentine’s décor, including a new Mickey Mouse flower “portrait” on Main Street, U.S.A. Guests may also choose to partake in Minnie’s Valentine Surprise, a special scavenger hunt experience in Disneyland park. Once guests have purchased a commemorative map and stickers at select merchandise locations, they may search for the hidden valentines that Minnie has left for Mickey around the park. Valentine’s Month at Disneyland park kicks off Jan. 22 through Feb. 18. Food, beverage, merchandise and more: Specialty food, beverage, novelty items and merchandise will be available for a limited time, including “classic” Mickey- and Minnie-shaped foods with new festive twists, exclusive Get Your Ears On-themed treats and Valentine-inspired specialty items. In addition, limited edition celebration merchandise will be available for all ages, including apparel, pins, plush, and of course, Mickey and Minnie ears. Join us at the Disneyland Resort as we celebrate 90 years of magic with the legendary duo that started it all! View the full article

  17. There are so many exciting things happening with Disney Vacation Club! This weekend at D23’s Destination D: Celebrating Mickey Mouse, our Disney Parks, Experiences, and Consumer Products Chairman Bob Chapek shared a sneak peek at what’s to come for Disney’s Riviera Resort with some amazing Disney fans. This proposed 15th Disney Vacation Club property, projected to open Fall 2019, is inspired by the European grandeur Walt Disney experienced in his travels along Europe’s Mediterranean coastline. As you can see from this newly released rendering, Disney Vacation Club Members and other guests will have a great view of fireworks spectaculars and easy access to the Disney Skyliner, which will have a station at the resort. In 1935, not long after Mickey Mouse was born, Walt took a break from the production of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Walt & Lillian and Roy & Edna Disney took an extended grand tour of Europe that would have an impact on Disney storytelling for decades to come. With its castles and colorful, fairy-tale villages, Walt fell in love with Europe – the art, the architecture, the food, and, of course, the stories. We are so excited to share more and more of this inspiring resort story over the next several months. Keep checking back for more! Disney’s Riviera Resort is not yet fully registered or available for sale. View the full article

  22. With the current construction of the Guardians of the Galaxy and Ratatouille attractions in Epcot (not to mention the Disney Skyliner), it’s obvious that BIG CHANGES are taking place in Disney World’s Epcot. Epcot’s Spaceship Earth And this morning at the D23 Destination D: Celebrating Mickey Mouse event, we learned more information about some things that we knew were coming during the park’s multi-year transformation, as well as some brand new experiences on the way! Let’s begin with the park’s nighttime spectacular… TWO New Nighttime Spectaculars Earlier this year, it was revealed that IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth would be ending its run as Epcot’s nighttime spectacular in 2019. But how will this iconic show be replaced? Epcot Spectacular Concept Art Well, we actually received a TWO-PART answer to that question today! In 2019, Epcot Forever will make its debut as a limited-time show that Epcot fans in particular will especially appreciate. The show “will begin with a spark of imagination that swells into an epic spectacle of fireworks, music, lighting, lasers, and special effects kites.” And the soundtrack? Why, that will be classic songs from Epcot, like Tomorrow’s Child! And who knows what else? Maybe Listen to the Land? Universe of Energy? Perhaps a melody or two from Kitchen Kabaret? Epcot Nighttime Spectacular ©Disney Tell me, what would you just LOVE to hear in Epcot again? But I’m getting ahead of myself… in 2020, an entirely new nighttime spectacular will make its debut! Epcot Spectacular Concept Art The as-yet-unnamed production “will celebrate how Disney music inspires people around the world, and will feature massive floating set pieces, custom-built LED panels, choreographed moving fountains, lights, pyrotechnics and lasers.” Epcot Spectacular Concept Art And a look at the concept art reveals that lots of our favorite characters will be along for the ride! 23. There was SO MUCH NEWS coming out of the D23 Destination D: Celebrating Mickey Mouse event that took place this morning that we thought we’d dive into a few individual topics, including one we’re especially excited about: the Star Wars Resort coming to Walt Disney World! Star Wars Resort Concept Art More concept art was revealed by a presentation from Disney Parks, Experiences and Consumer Products Chairman Bob Chapek for what is to be a completely immersive and unique experience, which will place guests directly into a starship “that comes alive with characters and stories that unfold all around them during their voyage through the galaxy.” Star Wars Hotel Concept Art The Resort is still in development (with an opening timeframe yet to be revealed). But there is some information we already know, and much of it is packed into this sentence from Disney: “From the moment you board your launch pod, it’s a fully-immersive, multi-day Star Wars adventure aboard a luxury starship complete with high-end dining, space-view cabins and all of the exciting action you would expect from an authentic Star Wars experience.” Star Wars Resort Concept Art Multi-day experience. High-end dining. Star Wars Resort Concept Art Space-view cabins. Star Wars Resort Concept Art And exciting action! And, of course, we already know that the Resort will be “seamlessly connected” to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, which will open in late fall 2019. 24. Earlier this week, we shared the exciting update that our new Disney Skyliner gondola system will be operating at the Walt Disney World Resort in fall of 2019. Today, we’ve got more to share – a first look at one of the actual gondolas! Disney Parks, Experiences and Consumer Products Chairman Bob Chapek unveiled the gondola to Disney fans during D23’s Destination D: Celebrating Mickey Mouse event. And as you can see, Disney Skyliner will be fun and offer a new way to experience Walt Disney World Resort with amazing views only available from the sky. Once operating, the gondola system will connect Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Epcot to four resort hotels- Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort and Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort as well as the proposed 15th Disney Vacation Club property, Disney’s Riviera Resort. And select gondolas will have iconic Disney characters incorporated into their exterior design to give the appearance that a Disney pal is riding along with guests, such as characters from the ‘Fab Five,’ figures from Disney attractions, fan favorites from movies, and more. 25. Need a chocolate fix? The Ganachery at Disney Springs has a few new holiday offerings you won’t want to miss! Holiday Ganache As part of the Holidays at Disney Springs, The Ganachery is on the long list of shops and restaurants featuring new seasonal items. Read on to learn more about the special holiday treats you can expect to find, plus our review of the seasonal ganache flavors! Holiday Ganache The Ganachery is, of course, known for their chocolate ganache! There are three special holiday flavors on the menu this year: Candy Cane, Dark Chocolate Snowflake, and Eggnog. Holiday Ganache The ganaches are little chocolate squares that are soft and decadent. The Dark Chocolate Snowflake flavor is the same Dark Chocolate ganache the shop carries year-round, but it has been dressed-up with pretty snowflake art for the holidays. If you’re a dark chocolate fan, go for the Dark Chocolate Snowflake or the Candy Cane. The peppermint flavor in the Candy Cane ganache is very subtle, and the deep, dark chocolate flavor really shines. The Eggnog ganache has a creamy, rich flavor. You’ll definitely taste strong eggnog and a hint of bourbon. (Pssst: the Coffee ganache isn’t a holiday exclusive, but if you like coffee and you like chocolate, get it.) Sweets from the Ganachery The Ganachery’s packaging is fantastic, too! It totally makes you feel like you’re getting a special little present to unwrap. Sweets from The Ganachery Peppermint Bark is also here for the holiday season! The combination of milk chocolate, dark chocolate, and peppermint pieces is definitely on the nice list this year. Peppermint Bark If you want to get really fancy, there’s even a Santa Mickey Piñata. Yes, you actually get to use a little wooden mallet to crack open this treat-filled cutie! Want to know more about what you can expect to find inside of a Piñata from The Ganachery? We have the perfect post for you. Santa Mickey Piñata The Ganachery is always impressive, and it’s a great place to stop if you’re a huge chocolate fan and want to treat yoself, or if you need the perfect gift for the chocoholic on your list. The chocolates are pricey for sure, though, so this should only be on your docket if you’re ready to dole out cash for sugar. (You’re worth it.)
