On March 30, 2019, a new character breakfast will make its debut at Napa Rose in Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel in Disneyland Resort! Napa Rose Dining Room Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures will feature a three-course meal along with personal interactions and photo opportunities with Disney Princesses! The experience will also include a takeaway bag and themed activities which will highlight what makes Disney Princesses unique. Ariel Disney also shares that: “Guests will share a final fond farewell with a personal Princess portrait moment and enjoy a special keepsake to remember their unique Disney Princess experience.” The meal will include a Cold Starters course with items that kids and adults will enjoy such as Sunrise Citrus and Vanilla Bun with Raspberry Glaze, Assorted Fruit Slices and Berries and an Egg Custard Served in its Shell with Parmesan Crisp and Ketchup Caviar. Hot offerings for kids will include House Made Mac & Cheese, Mini Chicken & Princess Waffles and Beef Sliders. And for adults? Hot offerings will feature Shepherd’s Pie, Slow Braised Short Ribs and Pork Belly. Side items will consist of Roasted Seasonal Root Vegetables & Heirloom Potatoes, Artisan Breakfast Sausage, Bangers and more. And how about some dessert with breakfast? In addition, the quick-service restaurant now offers mobile ordering through the Disneyland app, allowing you to maximize your time by ordering and paying ahead to skip the line! Start your morning off with a selection of classic breakfast dishes, such as the American Breakfast with eggs and bacon (or sausage!) or a warm Breakfast Burrito filled with scrambled eggs, tater bites, bacon, and cheese. The Smoked Salmon Bagel Sandwich is another option thats swam upstream to join the menu along with a few vegetarian options like Roasted Vegetable and Three-Cheese Quiches, Avocado Toast, and Egg White Scramble with spinach, asparagus, avocado, and roasted tomato. And for the kids? They’ll love the Breakfast Plate with turkey bacon, scrambled eggs, fruit, and tater bites. In addition to being a part of the Hakuna Matata Time Dance Party you can find some Lion King characters Simba, Timon, and Pumba on Discovery Island ready for the perfect picture with you and your family or friends! New Lion King Photo Op in Animal Kingdom The Dawa Bar in Africa is helping you keep warm on “chilly” Florida days. You can choose from hot Mulled Wine or African Coffee here. African Coffee is also available at Tamu Tamu, but at Dawa Bar you can choose from a broader selection of liquors to make your coffee a spiked coffee. It’s always true that you should “look up” when you’re in Disney World so you’re sure to catch various details and design throughout the Resort within the parks, their attractions, and Resorts. But now “look up” is especially good advice, because you may just catch one of the gondolas from the Disney Skyliner now in testing! Disney Skyliner Gondola We just spotted gondolas in place last week at the Hollywood Studios station, but initial testing is now underway for the gondolas to take to the skies. Sharp-eyed visitors to Walt Disney World Resort this week may have spotted something new up in the sky while Disney Skyliner began its initial testing. Scheduled to open this fall, Disney Skyliner will be a new, state-of-the-art gondola system that will conveniently connect Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Epcot to four resort hotels – Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and the proposed Disney’s Riviera Resort, which is now accepting guest reservations for stays beginning December 16, 2019. The official Resort opening date will be announced at a later time. The Skyliner’s towers have been under construction for about a year, so to have a gondola up on its cables is an exciting milestone! Afternoon Tea at Steakhouse 55 Though you may experience the traditional Afternoon Tea depending on when you visit, themed Afternoon Teas often reflect the various seasons and celebrations around Disneyland Resort throughout the year. Minnie Rose arrangement As we move into the treats, one of the most charming and thoughtful details you’ll notice throughout the Tea are the white chocolate accompaniments with several of the sweets showcasing magical film moments with Mickey and Minnie starting with the Mickey and Minnie Scones. Scones These are accompanied by three lovely spreads of lemon curd, Devonshire cream, and fruit marmalade. If you’re ready to Get Your Ears On at Disney California Adventure Park, you can eat your way through one of the park’s most popular attractions: Mickey’s Fun Wheel! Mickey’s Fun Wheel Cookie The Mickey’s Fun Wheel Cookie is a raspberry jam-filled sugar cookie topped with fun and colorful white chocolate drizzles and features the Mickey’s Fun Wheel icon on an edible medallion. Mickey’s Fun Wheel Cookie For $5.00, this is a sizable cookie that’s large enough to share. You’ll pick it up at the Gourmet Coffee cart in DCA. Mickey’s Fun Wheel Cookie But the question is: will you want to? The star of the Mickey’s Fun Wheel Cookie is by far the raspberry jam, which is tart, sweet, and delicious. But without that, the cookie is bland. Mickey’s Fun Wheel Cookie. Sadly the sugar cookie and the white chocolate accents just can’t match the tasty jam, and overall the cookie isn’t as enjoyable to eat as it is to look at. Mickey’s Fun Wheel Cookie Bummer! Such a fun looking cookie and themed after such a fun attraction. But unless you’re really in it for the jam and don’t care if the rest of the treat is bland, Mickey’s Fun Wheel Cookie is a pass. We also tried the Celebration Cookies here. This is a trio of shortbread cookies with two different fillings: raspberry jam and dulce de leche! Celebration Cookies The ears on the Mickey Celebration Cookies are twin dulce de leche-filled shortbread cookies topped with white chocolate medallions. The flavor of these is there at first but fades quickly, leaving you with two fairly bland cookies. Sugar Cookies filled with Dulce de Leche The raspberry jam filling on the larger cookie is good, but that’s not enough to make up for the rest of them — especially at $12 for the trio! We’re kicking off the week on the Disney Parks Blog with a fun Disney Doodle from artist Ashley Taylor, who imagines what Flora and Merryweather from “Sleeping Beauty” would do if they had the chance to visit a Walt Disney World theme park.
