YAY! In addition to it being suddenly Christmas in Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, we also get to dig into a brand new snack at Storybook Treats — Tink’s Pixie Dusted Cone! Tink’s Pixie Dusted Cone This is the next snack in line using the new lime dole whip at Storybook Treats. First we had the Peter Pan Float, which is still there on the menu; and next it was the Maleficent Cone, which has its last day on the menu today. Storybook Treats Menu This version features the lime dole whip on a green-colored cone, surrounded with fluffy green cotton candy. Tink’s Pixie Dusted Cone at Storybook Treats On the soft serve you’ll find white chocolate wings and an ample amount of gold “pixie dust,” aka edible glitter. White chocolate wings The cotton candy has a mild lime flavor, but the cone is just straight sugar cone flavor. Lime cotton candy Overall, it’s a cute addition and, of course, very instagrammable — which is what Disney’s often going for with these treats these days. We’re always up for lime dole whip, though, so the flavor here is good as well. Lime dole whip We’ll be back soon with plenty more additions to the Magic Kingdom coming up next week! Stay tuned!! Disney is keeping us busy — and excited for the Skyliner opening in 2019! On each of our visits to Hollywood Studios and Epcot, plus any of the resorts along the Skyliner route, we anxiously check out the progress. Yesterday we checked on the progress of the Skyliner Station at Epcot. Epcot Skyliner Station Progress This week we got to see them working on a more artistic aspect of the Skyliner, the art on the station roof. The Epcot station is at the World Showcase Entrance to the park, the International Gateway, located between the UK and France Pavilions. The concept art shows the artwork on the station, and that is what we see coming to life this week! Concept Art Epcot Skyliner Station Epcot Skyliner Station Progress We liked what we could see of the artwork, and the colors really stand out on the dark roof. This should be an attractive station that looks like it blends in with the gateway around it as well as the France and the UK pavilions. Epcot Skyliner Station Progress The concept art on display on the construction walls is drawing us in and gives a new view of Epcot. We can’t wait to see these gondolas in the sky (plus they are decorated with characters!). Concept Art Epcot Skyliner Station Concept Art Epcot Skyliner Station Disney has stated the Skyliner system will open in 2019. As we watch the progress of the stations around the parks and resorts we are hoping for an early 2019 opening since we can’t wait for this new transporation option! This unforgettable experience is made even more special by the wealth of opportunities available on the castle grounds (some at an additional cost). From fishing to golfing to having an owl or hawk land straight on your arm, you won’t want to wake up from this dreamlike wonderland. Watch as Adventures by Disney guest Keaton shows what it’s like to stay in a real-life castle in this video. And don’t forget to watch Keaton have fun down on the Irish farm in my previous post! Another cute cupcake alert for you ! We were over at Disney’s Contemporary Resort today to showcase the new Gingerbread Castle being erected for the holiday season and we couldn’t help stopping over at Contempo Cafe for a couple of yummy treats! Pastry and Baked Goods Case at Contempo Cafe Today we get to show you a seriously adorable Limited Time Only (VERY limited…as in today ONLY.) Minnie’s Not-So-Scary Berry Cupcake as well as a seasonal (i.e. limited time, but not quite as limited as Minnie) cupcake — the Apple Cupcake! Minnie’s Not So Scary Berry Cupcake She’s definitely ready for her close-up! This adorable one-day-only Minnie Mouse Not-So-Scary Berry Halloween cupcake features dyed vanilla cake, raspberry jam filling, and vanilla buttercream icing. The Minnie witch hat is made of white chocolate and filled with blackberry marshmallow. Minnie Mouse Not So Scary Berry Cupcake This cute dessert is such a work of art! The frosting is a vanilla buttercream that actually has a pretty good flavor, but it is very green! Minnie’s Not-so-Scary Berry Cupcake from Contempo Cafe Notice the bow, the chocolate ears, and the spiderweb. So detailed! Minnie’s hat is held on with bright orange icing. Minnie’s Not-so-Scary Berry Cupcake It’s so clever how they’ve filled Minnie’s white chocolate witch hat instead of just leaving it hollow! Unfortunately, we couldn’t taste much flavor in the blackberry marshmallow at all. Minnie’s Not-so-Scary Berry Cupcake How perfectly Halloween-y is the inside? SO GREEN! At first glance, the filling looks black, but it’s actually dark purple. What a great filling-to-cake ratio, too! Not only does this cupcake have the perfect look for Halloween, but it tastes good! The dyed-green vanilla cake is fluffy and moist. Our favorite part was the jam filling, though! It was sweet but not too sweet and had a nice, complex flavor and a bit of tartness. The filling was wasn’t runny, either. Kids will probably love the Minnie’s Not-so-Scary Berry Cupcake because it’s so bright and fun, and adults might be pleasantly surprised by the flavor. Just don’t forget to grab extra napkins! Apple Cupcake While it’s not as frightful as its bewitching Minnie counterpart, the Apple Cupcake from Contempo Cafe in Disney’s Contemporary Resort is a great choice if you want an autumnal treat that’s a just little more neutral-hued. Apple Cupcake from Contempo Cafe This seasonal sweetie is an apple cupcake filled with apples and cinnamon buttercream icing and topped with apple pie filling. The first thing we noticed was how heavenly it smells! Just like fresh-baked apple pie. Apple Cupcake from Contempo Cafe The apple topping was our favorite part: it tasted just like apple pie filling, but the little bits of apple were still nice and crisp. That texture went really well with the soft, fluffy cake! The filling inside of the cupcake was similar, but it had fewer apple bits. Apple Cupcake Inside We were excited about the cinnamon buttercream frosting, but this version seemed to be missing a little something. The cinnamon and vanilla flavors didn’t really come through. If you’re an apple pie fan or you were hoping for more apple flavor and less frosting from the Not-so-Poison Apple Cupcake, try this! Happy Halloween! It may be Halloween, but we saw a sure sign of Christmas today! The Contemporary Resort’s Gingerbread Castle in Disney World is going up! Hello from the Contemporary We can see the Castle, is in its “new” home for the second year in a row by the windows on the fourth floor. There it is — peeking out from between the Contemporary shops on the Grand Canyon Concourse! Contemporary Gingerbread Castle We can smell the gingerbread in the air! Here come the holidays! The castle is a clear nod to Mary Blair, Disney imagineer and artist responsible for the design of “it’s a small world” in the parks as well as the amazing mural opposite the gingerbread castle in the Contemporary itself. Can you see the “iasw” elements to this? Contemporary Gingerbread Castle It will grow into, we’re assuming, a place for gingerbread figures of Cinderella and her Prince Charming to greet Contemporary Resort guests through the holiday season like they did last year! 2017 Contemporary Gingerbread Display You can also see the little gingerbread stand off to the left, where we’re hoping to find sweet eats and treats very soon! Gingerbread Cookies at the Contemporary in 2017 I LOVE THAT THIS IS ALREADY HAPPENING! Can’t wait to see the other displays take shape in the resorts. OK, I’m dead. This is easily the most adorable thing ever. Mike Wozowski Cupcake We’ve shown you countless halloween cupcakes over the past two months — caramel poison apple cupcake at Wilderness Lodge, the not-so-poison apple cupcake at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party (my love.), and more — but this one is, by far, the most adorable. Our team member here at DFB, Emily Beck, couldn’t pass up the Mike Wozowski cupcake at Sunshine Seasons in Epcot’s The Land pavilion today. And it’s a good thing, because he’s ONLY. AVAILABLE. TODAY. Yep — if you’re in Epcot tonight, head on over to pick him up, because he’s a one day only kind of guy. HIS LITTLE HANDS!!!!! His adorable little teeth! Those wrinkly hands! And sitting on a fluff of Sulley fur?! What?!? OK, OK, AJ, FOCUS. The cupcake itself is chocolate cake. The center was supposed to be stuffed with caramel and pretzel, but Emily noted that…well…there was pretty much nothing there. The icing is buttercream (and delicious), and the fondant Mike actually had flavor. Overall, a good buy if you like chocolate cupcakes with a bunch of buttercream…or you like Mike Wozowski…or you run a Disney food instagram account. ;-D The cupcake is $5.99 and, again, LIMITED TO TODAY ONLY! Here’s a scary thought on this Halloween. Did you know that all Internet communications in North America run through a single building … and that they let filmmakers in that place?! In part three of my six-part conversation with “Ralph Breaks the Internet” producer Clark Spencer (“Lilo & Stich,” “Bolt,” “Winnie the Pooh,” “Wreck-It Ralph” and “Zootopia”), the Oscar winner recalls his team’s research trip to a Los Angeles office tower that helped shape the filmmakers’ vision for the physical world of the Internet. Look for a new clip from our conversation here on the Disney Parks Blog each Wednesday until “Ralph Breaks the Internet” opens in theaters on Nov. 21. View the full article

Hollywood Studios is a changing park these days. In addition to all the work being done for the arrival of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in the Fall of 2019 a new ride is coming to the Chinese Theater, and the former Pixar Place is being transformed into a city block in Municiberg, home of The Incredibles. Hollywood Studios Chinese Theater The Chinese Theater is being transformed for the new ride, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway coming in 2019. There was some scaffolding up around the Theater, but that has been removed as well as the signage for the Great Movie Ride that used to be in this building. It also looks like some elements of the the Theater have been removed such as the gold figure in the photo below from last summer. Hollywood Studios Chinese Theater On your way to Toy Story Land you’ll find the construction walls to the left of this Joffrey’s stand are still up, but a lot of the walls blocking the view of the stand are no longer there.
