In our Disney Doodles series, Disney artists take turns imagining what Disney characters would do or see first if they had the chance to visit a Disney park. In today’s Doodle, artist Ashley Taylor images what Figaro and Cleo from “Pinocchio” would do first during a visit to Epcot. “Figaro and Cleo are used to being surrounded by the beauty of Geppetto’s creations,” Ashley said. “It’s easy to imagine them admiring the craftsmanship of the cuckoo clocks at the Germany pavilion.” View the full article

Bo Peep in Hollywood Studios We don’t know how permanent this move is, so be on the lookout for Jessie when you visit. Jessie Meet and Greet at the “Star Wars Wall” Jessie Meet and Greet at the “Star Wars Wall” With all of the trees, we still can’t see a whole lot of what is going on in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. The “Star Wars Wall” in Toy Story Land The “Star Wars Wall” in Toy Story Land What’s New on Hollywood Studios’ Sunset Boulevard You’ll find the next item at Fairfax Fare on Sunset Boulevard, in the Trolley Car Cafe on Hollywood Boulevard, and at PizzeRizzo which is currently open on Grand Avenue. There are two new appetizers; a Plant-Based Baked Arancini and Insalata di Mercato. That isn’t all you’ll find on the appetizer menu; the Calamari now comes with Sottaceto Misto instead of red peppers. (Wondering what Sottaceto Misto is? It’s pickles!) To make room for these changes the Oak-Grilled Mussels, Seasonal Italian Salad, and Arugula-Prosciutto Flatbread have been removed. Mama Melrose Menu For entrees here you’ll find a few updates as well. For instance, the Seafood Cioppino is now Seafood Fra Diavolo. You may also see “Plant-based” is included in the name for the Polenta Cake, Mushroom, and Herb Cauliflower. There haven’t been any recipe changes with this; it has always been plant-based — just a name change. That cute Cookie Bus full of Walker’s Shortbread that we first saw in Epcot is available here at the Adrian & Edith’s. We’ve also seen these at World of Disney in Disneyland and Port Orleans Resort — French Quarter in Disney World. Stay Cool with Snack Fans Bo Peep is hanging with her peeps on this shirt we’ve seen in a few of the shops and stores around the parks. It was fun to see it here since Bo Peep is now meeting and greeting guests in Toy Story Land. Bo Peep Shirt We’ll close out our post with a friendly reminder — it gets hot and humid on these summer days in Florida. Disney wants to be sure you stay hydrated, and that’s why you’ll find free water at most quick service locations. If you don’t find a dispenser like the one we found at Woody’s Lunch Box, just ask at the counter for a cup of ice water and they will gladly give you as many cups of water as you need. Thousands of guests now get to live their adventure at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at the Disneyland Resort. But few can say they were first in the galaxy to experience the new land. Disney scoured the galaxy for fans whose lives have been touched by Star Wars. From the enterprising Christina Cato, a self-taught droid builder and philanthropist, to the cosplaying Perales family, to little Cora and her family, who gained Internet fame with their “Happiest Star Wars Reaction” video. These guests were invited by Disney to be the first to explore Batuu—a planet found not so far away at the Disneyland Resort. They got to be the first to build their own droids, craft their own lightsabers, meet Chewbacca and fly the most legendary ship in the galaxy at Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge invites all guests across this earth (and others) to come live their adventure at the new land. With even more to taste, see and experience like Oga’s Cantina, where you can see Star Tours-famous DJ-R3X spinning, to Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities, and the infamous Blue and Green Bantha Milk stand, fans will truly feel like they’re in a galaxy far, far away. I don’t think I can mask my excitement because Soarin’ Over California is BACK! In case you missed it, the original attraction is back for the month of June only… but hey, I’ll take what I can get! Disney’s California Adventure Wait Times Through June 30th, Soarin’ Over California has temporarily replaced Soarin’ Around the World in the Grizzly Peak area of Disney’s California Adventure. Soarin’ Over California If you’re anything like me, you want to head straight to the attraction to get your fill of the classic imagery of the Golden Gate Bridge, Yosemite National Park, and Napa Valley. I only have to think about this attraction to experience warm waves of nostalgia. Soarin’ Over California Soarin’ Over California opened with DCA on February 8, 2001, and represented a new breed of Disney ride technology. Some may say this flight-simulator attraction forged the way for newer cutting-edge rides like Flight of Passage in Disney World’s Animal Kingdom. Soarin’ Over California Due to its immense popularity, Soarin’ Over California was duplicated at Disney World’s Epcot (as simply, Soarin’) in 2005. In 2016, both attractions were converted into Soarin’ Around the World, with the new ride film focusing on international landscapes instead of locations in California depicted in the original film. Many fans have loved the intriguing changes to the attraction, but some do miss the OG – Soarin’ Over California. Soarin’ Over California Whether you prefer to soar around the world or over California, it’s always a treat to board a flight on a classic Disney attraction like this. Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! Click here to Subscribe! Which version of Soarin’ is your favorite? Let us know in the comments! The Croissant Doughnut has had a few homes in Epcot over the years since making its debut. Croissant Doughnut with cinnamon sugar What’s better known as the Cronut arrived with much fanfare at the Refreshment Port in 2013. (2013! My, how time flies when you’re eating flaky layers of croissant pastry in the shape of a donut rolled in oodles of cinnamon and sugar… as the saying goes .) Croissant Doughnut The Croissant Doughnut put the Refreshment Port on the map, so to speak, as it had not been home to a signature snack up to that point. However, once the Refreshment Port put the spotlight almost entirely on variations of Poutine (Hooray!) we were happy to learn that the Croissant Doughnut still had a home in Epcot. You see, when Taste Track — a food kiosk located near the Test Track attraction — became a full-fledged Festival booth for the 2018 Epcot Festival of the Holidays, it delivered a classic Croissant Doughnut along with three variations on the treat. Specialty Croissant Doughnuts and White Chocolate-Raspberry Gelato Taste Track continued to keep the Croissant Doughnut on the menu for both 2019 Epcot Festivals so far (the Epcot Festival of the Arts and the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival). Violet Blueberry Vanilla Croissant Doughnut at 2019 Epcot Flower and Garden Festival But the 2019 Epcot Flower and Garden Festival just wrapped on June 3rd, so the Taste Track kiosk is not currently in operation. Taste Track closed Which begs the question: WHERE can you find your Croissant Doughnut in Epcot now?! Well, we can tell ya… Electric Umbrella Sign Stopping by Future World’s Electric Umbrella today, we couldn’t help but notice the addition of the Croissant Doughnut on the menu! Croissant Donut on the Electric Umbrella menu It’s $5.59 or a snack credit on the Disney Dining Plan. So, there you have it! We’re happy to say the Croissant Doughnut still has a home in Epcot! Are you a Croissant Doughnut fan? Please let us know with a comment! Related posts: Here’s What We Can’t WAIT To Try At The 2018 Epcot Food and Wine Festival! The Best Disney Donuts EVER. Fellow carb lovers, take note! An on-again-off-again menu item is — at the moment — on again at Catalina Eddie’s in Sunset Ranch Market at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Catalina Eddie’s sign The Breadsticks with Caesar Dressing have returned to this low-key counter service pizza stop. Catalina Eddie’s Breadsticks For now, at any rate! You’ll notice the returning snack on its standard temporary signage. Breadsticks sign The item is as simple as it sounds. You receive four breadsticks with a side of Caesar dressing for dipping. Catalina Eddie’s Breadsticks But simplicity can be a very good thing. Our order came out piping hot, nice and garlicky, and totally enjoyable. Honestly, this is a great option to use as a snack credit because it’s the perfect serving size for you and your family to split and add to your meal! The thick breadsticks may actually be a little much for one person (or they could serve as a smaller lunch for one). Catalina Eddie’s Breadsticks If you aren’t a part of the Disney Dining Plan, this is still a great option to share or keep all to yourself, since it’ll just cost ya $4.99 before tax. We’re just weeks away from the first day of summer and there’s no better way to kick off the season than with a day on the water alongside family and friends! And, there’s no better time to get started than this week! Now through June 9 is National Fishing & Boating Week, a national celebration that highlights the importance of recreational boating and fishing. And best of all, guests visiting Walt Disney World Resort can celebrate by embarking on fishing and boating adventures on select lakes and lagoons surrounding this magical place, thanks to our friends at Take Me Fishing! Departing from select Walt Disney World Resort hotels, your group can enjoy a catch-and-release bass fishing excursion alongside a trained Disney fishing guide. Whether you’re a family of first-timers or a group of avid anglers, you’re guaranteed to reel in the fun during this experience. Or, for an on-land experience, dockside fishing is available at the Fishin’ Hole at Ol’ Man Island at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside. There’s something for everyone and best of all, no prior fishing experience is required to participate! Fishing excursions are a Disney must-do for my Dad and I whenever he visits. There’s something about those early mornings on the water that instantly transports me back to all the fond memories I have fishing in upstate New York – that is, until I look to the right and see Cinderella Castle! If you’re ready for your own adventure, motorized boat rentals are available at several Walt Disney World Resort Hotel marinas. Whether you’re taking a leisurely ride on the water in a pontoon boat or zipping through the waves on the Sea Raycers, there’s an offering for every type of water enthusiast. It’s Wednesday and our ongoing look at the all-new Disney Parks Wishables continues today with our latest adorable collection. As we teased on Monday, this week’s collection is inspired by “The Little Mermaid” attractions and experiences at Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts. You can now travel “under the sea” with Ariel and friends with this new Wishables collection. As you can see, along with Ariel, the new additions include Flounder, Ariel’s most trusted pal, the sensationally sinister Ursula, Sebastian the crab and Scuttle the seagull. Our new Ariel’s Undersea Adventure Disney Parks Wishables can be found right now at select merchandise locations, including World of Disney at the Downtown Disney District in California and Disney Springs in Florida, as well as shopDisney.com. If you’re a fan of the Little Mermaid, you can become part of Ariel’s world by visiting Prince Eric’s castle at Magic Kingdom Park. While at the castle, experience Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid and then venture into Ariel’s official greeting location. Also, at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you can enjoy Voyage of The Little Mermaid, and relive musical moments from the Disney classic at this live action and puppetry extravaganza. At Disneyland Resort, there are plenty of ways to experience the Little Mermaid. Check out our post here for more details! This summer, Epcot’s Japan pavilion will welcome a new signature restaurant: Takumi-Tei! Takumi-Tei ©Disney The new restaurant’s name and some initial details were announced a few weeks ago. But today brings more information on this upcoming dining experience thanks to a new page on the Disney World website. Though the restaurant’s page does not currently list a menu or the option to make Advance Dining Reservations, it does reveal a bit more about the setting which guests will be dining in. Takumi-Tei concept art ©Disney Or perhaps I should say “settings,” as the site reveals that guests will dine in one of 5 rooms inspired by naturals elements: water, wood, earth, stone or washi paper. The Chef’s Table, which will feature an exclusive menu, will be located in the Water Room, a space designed to “immerse diners in a tranquil setting that reflects the balance between nature and Japanese art.” It is also shared that “Every area will feature beautiful, handcrafted works of art honoring the element that brought it to life.” (As previously announced, Takumi-Tei is Japanese for “house of the artisan.”) Takumi-Tei Construction Japan’s beauty will be “featured both in its art and in its cuisine.” The page reminds that Takumi-Tei will offer “creatively prepared, Japanese-inspired dishes from a multicourse tasting menu, featuring a traditional Japanese tea service.” Takumi-Tei Construction Interested guests will want to note that Disney provides the Dress Code for guests, with the minimum dress code required and dressier attire welcome. The minimum dress code is as follows, according to the Disney World website: “Men must wear khakis, slacks or dress shorts and collared shirts. Jeans may be worn if in good condition. Sport coats are optional. Women must wear Capri pants, skirts, dresses or dress shorts. Jeans may be worn if in good condition. Not permitted are tank tops, flip-flops, swimsuits, swimsuit cover-ups, hats for gentlemen, cut-offs, torn clothing and t-shirts with offensive language and/or graphics.” Again, booking is not yet open for Takumi-Tei, and an opening date has not yet been announced. But we’ll be keeping you posted here! Are you hoping to dine at Takumi-Tei? Please let us know with a comment! Related posts: News!
