  2. Hope you’re enjoying a great weekend so far! We’re back with another DFB Video this weekend, and we’re talking about things we expected to hate in Walt Disney World… but didn’t! You may think Florida rain might mess up your trip… but it’s not so bad! Admittedly, things like waiting in long lines for rides and unpredictable weather give us cause for concern over what might not go so well in Walt Disney World. But there are plenty of things we were uncertain about — or were even concerned we wouldn’t like — in Walt Disney World that have turned out better than expected… in some cases, much better! We hope you’ll enjoy hearing about them in our latest DFB YouTube Video! And if you love this video, there’s plenty more for you to enjoy over on our DFB YouTube Channel! By the way, have you subscribed yet? If you hit the button below, you can subscribe to the channel and never miss a single episode! 3. Red Rose Taverne in Disneyland’s Fantasyland is the little overlay that could. Back in 2017, Disneyland Park reimagined its historic Village Haus as part of the company’s celebration of the release of the live-action Beauty and the Beast. But the last petal still hasn’t fallen, and Red Rose Taverne appears to be a sticking around indefinitely. Red Rose Taverne So when we’re in Disneyland, we always pop by to see what’s cookin’ in this poor, provincial town, and recently we discovered a couple new breakfast dishes we had to try. Both have the opportunity to enchant the diner — but will they be… wait for it… delicious? Breakfast at Red Rose Taverne The Beast’s Breakfast Burger and the Stuffed French Toast are essentially polar opposites — fitting, of course, for the story of Belle and the Beast. Stuffed French Toast and Breakfast Burger The Beast’s Breakfast Burger is a hearty, 1/3 Angus patty topped with rosemary-maple cream cheese, bacon, and scrambled eggs. That’s three types of protein in one bite — ideal for a carnivorous Beast. Beast’s Breakfast Burger This is a substantial burger and more than enough food for one (unless that one happens to be, you know, the Beast himself), and it was a decent (though unfortunately dry) quick service burger. The rosemary-maple cream cheese is the surprise element in this and adds a hint of sweetness and freshness. Beast’s Breakfast Burger If you prefer to start your day with a hit of sugar and a slab of carbs, the Stuffed French Toast will be more your speed. This breakfast is sweet on top of sweet — with a side of bacon. Stuffed French Toast The filling between two pieces of French toast is sweetened cream cheese, and combined with the berry compote on top, there’s more than enough sugar to get you fired up for your first ride of the day. Let’s just say: it comes with a side of maple syrup, but you don’t need it. Stuffed French Toast Look, Red Rose Taverne doesn’t appear to be going anywhere, but we’re still kids at heart who can sing “Be Our Guest” at any moment, so we are here for the overlay, as long as it stays. And the breakfast here (which was hit-or-miss on our first visit back in the day) is okay! You’re not expecting French perfection from a quick service spot, but you’ll be full, some of the flavors are interesting, and you’re smack dab in the heart of Fantasyland so you can dance your way to your next attraction easily. We say: every day like the one before isn’t so bad at Red Rose Taverne. Check out more Disneyland Food Reviews Here!! Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! 6. From Dole Whips and Mickey Pretzels to Peter Pan Floats, Disney World is home to some iconic and delicious snacks. BUT, not all snacks are created equally (or with equal price tags)! Peter Pan Float If you’ve got the Disney Dining Plan for your upcoming trip to Disney World, you’ll absolutely want to get the biggest and best value for your snack credits in order to make your Dining Plan worth it. Learn more about the Disney Dining Plan here! Mickey Pretzel And you KNOW we’ve got your back! We’ve scoured the snack landscape to find five of the best ways to use a DDP snack credit. Follow along with us and you’ll be on your way to becoming a Disney snack credit pro! Try an Over-the-Top Funnel Cake Crispy, sugary funnel cakes are found at theme parks around the globe, but Disney World’s funnel cakes can be serious business if you find the right ones. If you’re in the mood for a traditional funnel cake, you can grab one for $6.99 at Sleepy Hollow in Magic Kingdom. But, if you really want to get the best value for your snack credit, head on over to Oasis Canteen in Hollywood Studios. There, you’ll find a duo of GIGANTIC funnel cakes — one with strawberry toppings and soft-serve vanilla ice cream, and the other with cookies and cream toppings and soft-serve vanilla ice cream. Cookies & Cream Funnel Cake Both cost a whopping $8.49 if you’re not using your Disney Dining Plan snack credit, and are easily shareable. Check out our reviews for the strawberry-topped funnel cake and the cookies and cream funnel cake from Oasis Canteen! Fill Up on a Snack That Doubles as a Meal If you’re trying to conserve your meal credits during your Disney World vacation, get a snack that doubles as a meal! Animal Kingdom, in particular, has some delicious meal-worthy snacks. First on our list is the Pulled Pork Cheese Fries from Flame Tree Barbecue. These are super killer and totally worth your snack credit and calorie allotment. French fries are topped with a pile of savory pulled pork before being doused in barbecue sauce, green onions, and of course, PLASTIC CHEESE. These fries are super yummy, super filling and are priced at $6.99. Pulled Pork Fries with Cheese at Flame Tree Barbecue Also at Animal Kingdom, head over to Eight Spoon Cafe for the Baked Mac and Cheese. They have a standard baked mac, and two topped versions — one with shrimp and one with pulled pork. These dishes are currently priced at $6.69 and $6.49, respectively. The shrimp version gives you a bit more value for your snack credit, but both are EXCELLENT options. Baked Mac and Cheese with Shrimp at Eight Spoon Cafe Baked Mac and Cheese with Pulled Pork at Eight Spoon Cafe Snag The Most Epic Cinnamon Roll You’ve Ever Seen Cinnamon rolls can be found all over the Disney World parks and resorts. The option at Gaston’s Tavern in Disney World’s Magic Kingdom is pretty impressive, but the Mickey-shaped Colossal Cinnamon Roll is even MORE impressive — and it has the price tag to match. Colossal Cinnamon Roll The Colossal Cinnamon Roll is currently priced at $7.49! It is absolutely shareable and is not too dry despite its large surface area. This would be a great breakfast option for two, three or even four people. Colossal Cinnamon Roll You can find this one in most Starbucks locations in Disney World, but it originated at Kusafiri Coffee Shop and Bakery in Animal Kingdom. If you’re in the mood for a sweet pastry to start your Disney day, the Colossal Cinnamon Roll is a great way to go. For more of our favorite snack credit breakfast items, check out our video here! Get a Sugar Rush from Ice Cream Sundaes I don’t know what’s better than a refreshing ice cream sundae on a hot summer day (or any day, TBH). Disney World has several delicious ice cream sundaes that are great uses of a snack credit. The most expensive sundaes you can get for a snack credit are found at Plaza Ice Cream Parlor in Magic Kingdom. They are offering a Brownie Sundae and Apple Blossom Sundae for $7.49 each. Apple Blossom Sundae You’ll also find the All-American Sundae there for $6.99 as well as some specialty, limited-time sundaes like the current Peanut Butter Dream! If you’re just in the mood for some good, old-fashioned ice cream, Ample Hills Creamery is the way to go. You’ll find Ample Hills on the Boardwalk and you can try a small cup or cone of their ice cream for $6.99. Our personal favorites are Ooey Gooey Butter Cake and PB Wins the Cup. Ample Hills Creamery Eat Around the Epcot Festivals Probably the best way to use your Disney Dining Plan snack credit is by visiting the food booths at Epcot’s festivals. There are four festivals spread throughout the year – Festival of the Arts, Flower and Garden Festival, Food and Wine Festival, and Festival of the Holidays. Many of the items found at the food booths are snack credit eligible and can be worth between $7 and $9. Grilled Lamb Kefta Kebab If you’re planning to attend one of Epcot’s festivals, be sure to use your snack credits there. We personally love to make a meal out of several items from the festival booths! Keep an eye on Disney Food Blog for the latest on this year’s upcoming festivals! 7. It’s a jolly holiday when it comes to new treats over at Jolly Holiday Bakery in Disneyland. Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe From the new chocolate-potato-chip donut to the Steamboat Willie Cupcake, we’re digging all these new options. There is also an all-new pixie perfect Tinkerbell coconut cheesecake to try! From the buttercream bun to the white chocolate wings, everything about this treat screams picture perfect. Tinkerbell Coconut Cheesecake But, sadly the flavor didn’t win us over as much as the look of this treat did. Each bite gave us an overwhelming amount of coconut flavor. So if you’re a HUGE coconut fan, this will be perfect for you. Don’t love that flavor? Skip this one. Tinkerbell Cheesecake Cupcake It did have a creamy smooth texture and a nice bit of tartness…so that was nice! 8. From the new Goofy cookies ‘n milk macaron to the Tinkerbell coconut cheesecake, our day has been full of Jolly Holiday Bakery treats. New Jolly Holiday Treats We loved reviewing each of them but weren’t too blown away by flavor until we met this new cupcake… . The Steamboat Willie cupcake was hands down the most delicious treat we tried at Jolly Holiday today. Steamboat Willie Cupcake We also adored that our favorite little steamboat friend was featured…doesn’t he look SO cute at in white chocolate form as he stands proudly on top of this delicious cupcake? This is a pound cake cupcake with jolly holiday’s now-standard lightly textured frosting (this time it seemed to have a subtle cheesecake flavor) and a raspberry filling. It was very light and we loved the flavors. Steamboat Willie Cupcake The details and flavors make this a must-have treat in our eyes and we can’t wait to eat it again! You can find it for a limited time at Jolly Holiday in Disneyland. Interested in all that’s new at Disneyland? Then, make sure you check out our latest What’s New in Disneyland post! 9. Since 1955, Main Street Cinema has been a small theatre on Main Street U.S.A. that played classic Disney shorts. This spot had a way of taking us back to the good ‘ole days and never failed to make us smile. Main Street Cinema That is…until today. In addition to the spot’s six screens starring Mickey Mouse, Main Street Cinema is now showcasing…merchandise. Main Street Cinema Here’s a close-up of one of the displays… Main Street Cinema Nothing major has been changed when it comes to the room itself, as the animated shorts still play in the background. But this just won’t be the same little movie theatre stop as it used to be if these items remain. Main Street Cinema Currently, an easel in front of the Cinema invites you to “Come on in” for “Cartoons and Collectibles.” Main Street Cinema And while merchandise is plenty of fun, I’m thinking that, in this case, we’d like to see more of those cartoons, and less of the collectibles. 10. Lots of new treats have made their way to Jolly Holiday in Disneyland this past week. And if you know us, you know we had to try them all! New Jolly Holiday Treats When we were there a few days ago we tried the new chocolate-potato-chip donut. And today, we’re reviewing three more treats…and they’re all inspired by beloved Disney characters! You can now get a Goofy cookies ‘n milk macaron, a Tinkerbell coconut cheesecake, and a Steamboat Willie cupcake. Let’s kick the reviews off with the Goofy cookies ‘n milk macaron. This is a classic macaron with edible cookie dough and “milk” panna cotta. We loved the bright orange and blue colors along with the fun green Goofy hat made out of white chocolate! Goofy Cookies N Milk Macaron We really enjoyed the cookie dough part, but I mean how could you not? Edible cookie dough is the BEST, and this version is done well! The outer portion of the treat tasted like nothing more than a standard macaron. Goofy Cookies N Milk Macaron It was the “milk” that kind of got us… . It tasted super artificial and had a weird slimy consistency. You know we’re not all fans of panna cotta around here at DFB, and this was not a good version of the custard-y dessert. Goofy Cookies N Milk Macaron Overall, our taste-testers weren’t too fond of this new treat, despite the great cookie dough addition, and said they prefer the raspberry rose Mickey macaron. The Goofy cookies ‘n milk macaron is $5.99 at Jolly Holiday before a discount and should only be around for a limited time. What do you think about the new Goofy cookies ‘n milk macaron? Give it a try and let us know what you thought! Check out more Disneyland Food Reviews Here!! 13. In case you missed it, Disney launched the new Imagination Pink and Magic Mirror Metallic color trend collections TODAY! To celebrate the Imagination Pink trend, Disneyland has introduced a cake pop inspired by the bright pink hue! Imagination Pink Cake Pop We spotted these adorable cake pops all over Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure, and you can likely find them at any of the confectioneries in the parks and at Marceline’s in Downtown Disney. Imagination Pink Cake Pops Each Minnie-inspired cake pop consists of vanilla cake dipped in an Imagination Pink-colored white chocolate coating. The pops are sprayed with gold shimmer for a subtle sheen! Imagination Pink Cake Pop We personally weren’t super wild about the bubblegum flavor of the cake pop — too synthetic, and a weird flavor to pair with the cake pop texture. But if you love bubblegum, you may love this treat as well! Imagination Pink Cake Pop You can try an Imagination Pink cake pop for $4.99, or $4.30 with the Annual Passholder discount. 14. The Disneyland Monorail, Matterhorn Bobsleds, and Submarine Voyage are three of Disneyland’s oldest and most iconic attractions. Today, we were lucky enough to attend a special media event celebrating the 60th anniversary of these beloved Disneyland rides. Disneyland Monorail During the event, we not only had the opportunity to ride each attraction but we also heard from a Disney Archivist about the history of each one. Take a journey with us back in time as we fill you in on what we learned! Disneyland Monorail System The Disneyland Monorail System, originally called the Disneyland ALWEG Monorail System, opened as a sightseeing attraction around Disneyland property. In 1961, a second station opened at the Disneyland Hotel, which marked the first time a monorail system crossed a major road. Disneyland Monorail Today, you’ll see Mark VII trains at Disneyland, while Mark VI trains operate at Disney World. Matterhorn Bobsleds When the Matterhorn Bobsleds opened in 1959, it was the first thrill ride at Disneyland, AND the first roller coaster to use tubular steel for its track — giving Matterhorn its signature twists and turns (which earned the moniker “the Batterhorn.” The Matterhorn’s construction also allowed for multiple vehicles on the track at one time, which was uncommon back then. Matterhorn Bobsleds It initially wasn’t a grand journey through Alpine glaciers as originally advertised. But a major refurbishment in 1978 improved the aesthetic of the ride, introducing enhanced show scenes, tandem bobsleds and, of course, HAROLD. A little-known fact is that the growl heard from the original animatronic was voiced by a Disney Imagineer! Matterhorn Bobsleds Submarine Voyage The Submarine Voyage, now reimagined as Finding Nemo’s Submarine Voyage, opened in 1959 as part of a major Tomorrowland expansion project. Charles Kirkpatrick, Admiral of the US Navy, was on hand for the dedication ceremony. Submarine Voyage For 49 years, the ride took guests on a journey inspired by the USS Nautilus‘ historic trip to the North Pole. The Submarine Voyage was the first of its kind at any theme park, treating guests to Animatronic mermaids and many underwater special effects. Submarine Voyage Walt Disney wanted to have a submarine ride at Disneyland, and we’re so glad he did. Though the original Submarine Voyage is in the past, the lasting effects of this historic attraction still remain. 60th Anniversary – Disneyland Monorail, Matterhorn Bobsleds, Submarine Voyage Thanks for going back in time with us and learning about these iconic pieces of Disneyland history! 18. Today we’re checking out some of the tastes of the 2019 Flavors of Florida in Disney Springs. From now through September 2, 2019, guests can visit 20 dining venues throughout Disney Springs and enjoy dishes and drinks inspired by the Sunshine State! Flavors of Florida Blood Orange Mousse So far, we’ve tucked into the Smoked Prime Rib Slider from The Polite Pig, the Gator Tail Waffle Cone from Morimoto Asia, and checked out the chocolate goodness they’re serving up at The Ganachery. And now, we’re trying the specialty offering at Amorette’s Patisserie. For the Flavors of Florida, Amorette’s has introduced a Blood Orange Mousse ($8.00) which is a lemon chiffon cake with grapefruit gelée. Flavors of Florida Blood Orange Mousse The mousse itself is remarkably light and airy, and bursting with citrus flavor. And the grapefruit gelée center, which we thought might be too intense, was actually quite enjoyable. Flavors of Florida Blood Orange Mousse Our one critique is that it would have been nice to have more of that yummy lemon chiffon cake on the bottom. But for a great representation of a taste of the Sunshine State, you can’t beat this sweet citrusy treat! 19. Another limited time cupcake is available at Sprinkles for the month of June: the PRIDE Sprinkle Cupcake to celebrate, of course, Pride month! Pride Cupcakes The Pride Sprinkle Cupcake is topped with vanilla buttercream frosting (which always means YUM when you’re at Sprinkles). The rim is covered in a generous amount of rainbow sprinkles. And there’s more where those came from… Pride Cupcake You can choose from three different topper options: Cuppy, The Trevor Project, or an inspirational saying. Pride Cupcake The cupcake itself is a birthday cake flavored cupcake (it tastes a lot like vanilla cake batter) filled with even more colorful sprinkles! Pride Cupcake The creamy frosting gives the cupcake a nice balance to all the fun crunch from the sprinkles. You can find this cupcake at the Sprinkles locations at both Disney Springs and in the Downtown Disney District. The cupcake is $5.95 before a discount (or $5.35 in the Disneyland Resort when using an Annual Passholder discount). And note that $0.25 from each cupcake will be donated to The Trevor Project. 20. Do you remember the Artisan Cotton Candy that was a huge hit at the 2019 Epcot Flower and Garden Festival? 5-Layered Spring Fantasy Cotton Candy These unique and beautiful sugar creations were introduced at the China Pavilion’s Lotus House Outdoor Kitchen. Cotton Candy Artist The 2019 Epcot Flower and Garden Festival ended on June 3rd, and presumably the Artisan Cotton Candy had gone away with it. 5-Layered Spring Fantasy Cotton Candy But, if you visit the House of Good Fortune merchandise location in the China Pavilion… House of Good Fortune … you may still find it available! Artisan Cotton Candy menu I say “may” depending on what time of day you visit, as specific hours are posted for the Cotton Candy Artisan. And there’s a note stating “Off Wednesdays” on the sign. Artisan Cotton Candy Hours We asked Cast Members in the Pavilion if this was still to be considered a limited time offering, and they shared that they had not been given an end date. So while we’re not certain how long the Artisan Cotton Candy will be available, that sounds pretty promising! Cotton Candy Artisan And you really should stop by to see the fun — even if you don’t care for cotton candy as a snack — and catch the Cotton Candy Art in motion! Enjoy! 21. In case you missed it, Disney Springs’ Flavors of Florida food event is underway! From now through September 2, this event is bringing a variety of Florida-inspired dishes to 20 dining locations throughout Disney Springs. Today, we HAD to try a fun new option from Morimoto Asia — the GATOR TAIL WAFFLE CONE! Gator Tail Waffle Cone This thing is all kinds of awesome. It’s a play on chicken and waffles with a Florida (gator) twist! Morimoto Gator Tail Waffle Cone So, yes, this IS real gator, and if that freaks you out a little bit, we understand. BUT, hear us out, ’cause this really may be worth your time and money if you’re an orange chicken fan! And also note that while you can find them in the restaurant proper, you DON’T need a reservation. You can get yours at the bar. A strong citrus taste came through from the gator, so orange flavor fans ONLY on this one. The gator is breaded and marinated in the same way as Morimoto’s orange chicken, so it tastes very similar. Glazed Gator Tail And this one’s not rubbery at all, as you may have previously experienced from gator meat dishes. The chef actually marinates the gator tail in saki to give it a tender consistency! We’d say give it a sample…it might be your new favorite! Morimoto Asia You’ll find the Gator Tail Waffle Cone at Morimoto Asia for $15.98, including tax. It’s important to note that it is not listed on the menu but only on the pop-up outside. To try one of these cones for yourself, be sure to ask for it between now and September 2! Don’t forget to order at the bar to avoid lines for a table. Do you plan to try the Gator Tail Waffle Cone? Let us know your thoughts in the comments! 22. “Guardians of the Galaxy — Awesome Mix Live!” is BACK for the summer at Epcot! Guardians of the Galaxy — Awesome Mix Live! From today until August 18th, Guardians Star-Lord and Gamora and their alien band will be performing hits from Awesome Mix Volumes 1 & 2 five times a day in the American Gardens Theatre. Guardians of the Galaxy — Awesome Mix Live! Songs include “Hooked on a Feeling,” “Come and Get Your Love,” “Hit Me With Your Best Shot,” “Don’t Stop Me Now,” and “I Want You Back.” Guardians of the Galaxy — Awesome Mix Live! A certain someone also makes an appearance… Guardians of the Galaxy — Awesome Mix Live! And for a quick bite to eat before or after the show in The American Adventure Pavilion, both Liberty Inn and Fife & Drum Tavern are serving up themed eats throughout the show’s run! Liberty Inn In Liberty Inn, you’ll find the Space Sandwich, the Awesome Mix Plate (ha!), and Cosmic Cake. Guardians of the Galaxy — Awesome Mix Live! Eats Note that Rocket Fuel is the themed drink here — it’s a frozen Coca-Cola Slushy with grenadine. Liberty Inn Guardians of the Galaxy — Awesome Mix Live! Eats The Space Sandwich ($10.99) is barbecue pulled pork topped with crispy onions and served on a Kaiser bun with french fries on the side. Space Sandwich The kaiser is toasted to offer a bit of crunch, and obviously the colors present a unique appearance! Space Sandwich Bun Otherwise, though, the sandwich itself is pretty basic. The pork — while there is lots of it — isn’t overly flavorful, and you can find better pork dishes out there. Space Sandwich For instance… Awesome Mix Plate The Awesome Mix Plate ($11.99) is a pile of french fries topped with barbecue pulled pork, macaroni and cheese, bacon, and lettuce. It’s a huge dish and easily sharable. Awesome Mix Plate And because the other elements lend this dish loads more flavor overall, this would be what we would order over the sandwich. Awesome Mix Plate Cosmic Cake ($4.99 or a Disney Dining Plan snack credit) is a dome of chocolate cake covered in more chocolate. And we’re giving you two warnings with this one. Cosmic Cake One, that chocolate cover melts quickly; and two, the black paint on the space topper is tough to get off your hands. Cosmic Cake That said, the cake itself is filled with vanilla buttercream and “space sprinkles,” and it’s tasty altogether, with a good cake-to-buttercream ratio. Cosmic Cake Just steps away outside at Fife & Drum Tavern, you’ll find a selection of specialty beverages. Fife & Drum Awesome Mix Live! Menu The Awesome Mix Slushy ($8.25) is a frozen blue raspberry, strawberry, and lemonade slushy served with a glow cube (which, granted, you can’t really appreciate in the bright light of day, but it’s in there!). Awesome Mix Slushy It’s super yummy and refreshing on a hot day, even though the colors themselves blend together in about 5 seconds. Awesome Mix Slushy The I am Root float is a classic Root Beer Float topped with whipped cream and mint leaves (which you can also have spiked with Stoli Vanil Vodka). And the Destroyer Punch is orange, pineapple, and lime juices and grenadine, which can be turned into Galaxy Juice for guests 21-and-over with the addition of cherry bourbon. This is also where you can grab a Mix Tart ($5.00 or a Disney Dining Plan snack credit)! This strawberry-filled shortbread cookie is topped with a fondant Awesome Mix Tape. Mix Tart It’s a terrific photo touch, but the tart itself tastes much better without the fondant. Mix Tart It did lack the buttery flavor we expect from shortbread, though. Overall, it’s just okay. Mix Tart We can’t say we were really blown away by the eats for Guardians of the Galaxy — Awesome Mix Live! The flavors, unfortunately, don’t impress as much as the appearance for the most part. We do give thumbs up to the Awesome Mix Plate (the loaded fries) and the Awesome Mix Slushy. (And, in fact, since your other drink options are variations on fruity drinks and root beer floats, you probably can’t go wrong with any of those.) So, we say grab an “Awesome Mix” one or the other to go with your “Awesome Mix Live!” show and have some summer fun, Guardians fans! Will you be checking out “Awesome Mix Live!” this summer? Polite Pig Flavors of Florida From now until September 2, 2019, guests can visit over 20 locations throughout Disney Springs to enjoy fun, Florida-themed dishes along with refreshing cocktails. Read all about the Flavors of Florida event here! Today, we will be reviewing all of the new options (so be on the lookout for a few reviews) and we’re kicking things off with The Polite Pig. During the Flavors of Florida event, The Polite Pig will be serving a smoked prime rib slider and a Florida mango frosé. The smoked prime rib slider is prime rib served with a citrus aïoli and a green papaya horseradish slaw. We LOVED this option and literally could have eaten three. Seriously so good! (: Smoked Prime Rib Slider Our favorite part was the SERIOUS flavor bomb of the slider — and we really enjoyed that papaya horseradish slaw. The aioli had a great hint of citrus, without it being overwhelming. The slider is $7 before tax! The Florida Mango Frosé was a delicious option as well. It’s a fresh mango purée with sparkling rosé and citrus, topped with an orange slice and a cherry. Florida Mango Frosé The drink was not too strong, but it was very refreshing. And there was a nice blend of mango and citrus flavors. The frosé is $11 before tax! Make sure you’re on the lookout today as we review more of the Taste of Florida 2019 offerings. Let’s take a peek… Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar Temple of Bacon Menu You know this is right up our alley, right?? Thick-cut Applewood Smoked Bacon is doused in Ganachery Milk Chocolate, AND drizzled with Chipotle Ganache (that’s the dark chocolate drizzle there). We also spotted some cayenne pepper and salt sprinkled on ours that wasn’t listed in the description! But we’re getting ahead of ourselves. FIRST we to tell you about the presentation! The Temple of Bacon comes to you in a smokey dome… jock lindsey’s hangar bar temple of bacon presentation …then the server lifts off the dome and DRAMA ENSUES! jock lindsey’s hangar bar temple of bacon DRAMATIC UNVEILING ;-D And then, my friends, you take a moment to admire this creation. jock lindsey’s hangar bar temple of bacon jock lindsey’s hangar bar temple of bacon But then it’s time to get down to EATING. This dish is obviously super savory, but even with the chocolate it remains more savory than sweet for sure. We loved the addition of the cayenne and salt. jock lindsey’s hangar bar temple of bacon cayenne and salt dusting The chipotle drizzle was a little to subtle to really taste or give any heat. But overall we found this dish super enjoyable, yummy…and very filling! Is the Temple of Chocolate on your must-get list? Let us know in the comments!
