  2. Today is a great day in Disney’s Animal Kingdom BECAUSE we spotted the totally awesome Lion King Drum Souvenir Popcorn Bucket! Lion King Popcorn Bucket We previously found this souvenir bucket in Disney California Adventure in Disneyland Resort and are so glad it’s made its way to Animal Kingdom! Lion King Drum Popcorn Bucket The bucket is made to look like real wood featuring intricate carvings on each side — one of Simba and one of a sunburst. Colorful lanyards with Lion King-themed icons add a lovely finishing touch. Lion King Drum Bucket In Disney California Adventure, these buckets actually come with a serving of cotton candy, but yours will come with popcorn at Animal Kingdom. Lion King Drum Bucket Price We found these awesome buckets for $14.99 at The Feeding Ground (on Discovery Island) and Mahindi (in the park’s Africa section), but you might be able to find them in various locations around the park. The Lion King Drum Popcorn Bucket joins a bunch of specialty treats celebrating The Lion King in Animal Kingdom this summer! Do you love this awesome popcorn bucket as much as we do? 4. Hello from the Louisiana — er, Disney — Bayou! We moseyed over to Port Orleans French Quarter this week, and of course had to stop at one of our favorite Quick Service spots — Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory! Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory Sassagoula is best known for being the only spot in Walt Disney World for a classic Mickey shaped beignet — the warm, fluffy treat that I dream about more than I’d like to admit. Mickey-Shaped Beignet at Port Orleans Resort — French Quarter But today, something else caught our eye BESIDES tasty pastries. When we looked at the Menu Board at the “Italian Station” we noticed the “Create Your Own Pasta” was gone! Sassagoula Floatworks “Italian Station” Menu In its place were three “French Quarter” Pastas — Shrimp Arrabbiata, Chicken Alfredo, and Vegetarian. We also spotted a new Bayou Lasagna. We just had to sample a dish or two! We opted for the Lasagna and one of the Pastas. When I asked the Cast Member which of the pasta dishes she recommends, she said the Chicken Alfredo and the Shrimp Arabbiata were the most popular…”but beware! The Shrimp is spicy.” As you may know Disney doesn’t really do spicy, (we use the phrase “Disney heat” around here) so we were curious to see how this one compared heat-wise. The pasta dishes (not the lasagna) are made to order, so you’ll put your name and order in with the Chefs, then pay at the register. By the time we were done, our lunch was ready! Sassagoula Floatworks Pastas At first glance they looked tasty — but it was odd to us that the Bayou Lasagna was presented like a TV dinner? More on that later… Let’s start with the Shrimp Arrabbiatta. Shrimp Arrabbiatta The Shrimp Arrabbiatta is Penne Pasta with Marinara Sauce, Shrimp, Broccoli, and Red Pepper Flakes. The chef will add Fresh Parmesan on top if you’d like — and of course we did! Shrimp Arrabbiatta The dish is a huge serving — and could easily be shared between two, especially with a side. But how would the flavor (and heat) stack up? Surprisingly, well! There were tons of juicy, tender shrimp and the broccoli was perfectly cooked so it still had some crunch. The sauce wasn’t anything extraordinary, but the red pepper flakes really elevated the dish. In fact, it was ACTUALLY spicy! Like real heat, not Disney heat! My nose was running and my cheeks were flushed. I was shocked! Shrimp Arrabbiatta If you like a little heat in your food, this is a great option! And, it goes without saying, if you don’t like spicy stuff, we suggest you skip this one. Next up, the Bayou Lasagna. Bayou Lasagna This is layers of Pasta with Bolognese Sauce and House-made Alfredo. As you can see it comes out like a frozen TV dinner, which was a little perplexing… . Considering I was paying when they got it ready, my guess is they pre-portion the dish in these containers so they can be individually heated up when someone orders it. But presentation aside, how would it taste? Bayou Lasagna The meat Bolognese sauce was rather flavorful, but the creamy Alfredo was the real winner in my book. The noodles were cooked quite well, and overall it was a decent dish — it just wasn’t anything unusually special. Nothing about it said Bayou, other than the name. With a name like that, we’d love to have seen some Cajun spices or even some Shrimp in the dish to change it up. It was better than a standard TV Dinner though and it will be a great choice for picky kids (and adults) who don’t want to step outside of their comfort zone. Bayou Lasagna Overall, I would personally order the Shrimp Arrabbiatta again, but not the Bayou Lasagna. But once again Sassagoula Floatworks proves that it’s one of the best resort Quick Service spots with its unique menu, baked goods, and array of flavors — now including heat! 6. Did you know that Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa boasts the only private snorkeling lagoon on O‘ahu? At the serene saltwater lagoon, Rainbow Reef, you can take the plunge and swim up close with Hawaiian reef fish. I am excited to share that Aulani Resort has just introduced two new programs that offer up-close encounters with the dazzling marine life at Rainbow Reef, located in the Waikolohe Valley pool area. Underwater Explorers is the ideal experience if you want to try scuba diving, but are not scuba-certified.In this two-hour experience, you’ll start with a 25-minute lesson on the basics of scuba equipment, diving and safety procedures. You’ll get to practice the dive skills you’ve learned then enjoy a free swim through the crystal clear waters of Rainbow Reef. During your dive, you’ll see colorful marine life, like butterflyfish, angelfish, surgeonfish and tangs. You may even catch a glimpse of one of Aulani’s hidden Menehune (men-neh-HOO-nay). Because Rainbow Reef is a man-made lagoon, it offers a safe, high-visibility environment where you can dive without unpredictable waves or currents. Underwater Explorers is ideal for scuba beginners, ages 10 and up. Included in the experience are the use of mask, fins and a wetsuit, a complimentary flask and Rainbow Reef fish ID card to take home, and a video of your experience. Cost for the Underwater Explorers program is $189.00 per person, plus tax. The Rainbow Reef Fish Feeding Experience is a fun way for you to have an up-close interaction and learn about the many tropical fish who call the local waters home. Aulani’s animal programs biologists start with a brief introduction of the fishes in Rainbow Reef. You’ll see the differences between the many species of fish and learn what the fish eat. For example, some are herbivores, some are carnivores and some are omnivores–wow! With a better understanding of your new fish friends, you’ll have a chance to feed them while standing on the Rainbow Reef walkway, also a gorgeous photo spot. The fish feeding experience is about 15 minutes and costs $7 per person. To learn more the incredible marine life encounters available, check out Rainbow Reef at Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa. 7. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is now open at Disneyland park. With the ability to join a boarding group when needed, it’s the perfect time to visit the remote planet of Batuu. We’ve pulled together a day-to-night itinerary to help you plan your trip. Let’s go! Plan ahead and reserve your spot Business has been booming at Oga’s Cantina and Savi’s Workshop, so reservations are required for entry to either experience. Reservations can be made as early as 7 a.m., the morning of your visit at Disneyland.com/Cantina, Disneyland.com/SavisWorkshop or the Disneyland app (subject to change). Be sure to check the Disneyland app or signage inside Disneyland Park to see if the digital queue is operating and whether you need to request to join a boarding group to visit Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. More details about the new, innovative digital planning tools available to help you plan your visit can be found in the most recent “know before you go” blog story. Breakfast bites Your first stop in Black Spire Outpost should be Ronto Roasters to fuel up for the day. The large podracing engine hangs overhead, which fires the barbecue pit, while a former smelter droid carefully turns a spit of meats. This marketplace stall offers mouth-watering Ronto Wraps, including the savory Ronto Morning Wrap. It’s a delicious snack with scrambled eggs, grilled pork sausage, shredded cheese, and peppercorn sauce wrapped in pita. To market, to market After breakfast, stroll the Black Spire Outpost Marketplace to haggle with vendors from across the galaxy. Black Spire Outfitters has all the latest Batuuan styles and the Creature Stall houses some of the galaxy’s most unique (and cuddly) pets. The marketplace is yours to explore, with something new to see seemingly around every turn. Tip: Kowakian Monkey-Lizards and Porgs are among the “critters” you will find at the Creature Stall available for you to purchase and take home. Take control of the “fastest hunk of junk” If you’ve ever wished to step aboard the “fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy,” now is your chance with Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. Strap into the Falcon cockpit and take the controls as a pilot, defend as a gunner or maintain the ship’s systems as a flight engineer. It’s up to you and your fellow passengers to smuggle goods while avoiding any unnecessary entanglements. Tip: The chess-type game played on the table in the Millennium Falcon main hold and lounge is called Dejarik. Sit at this table and snap a photo with your crew before taking off! First Order or Resistance? Be on the lookout for agents of the First Order or heroes of the Resistance. Supreme Leader Kylo Ren lands at Black Spire Outpost and gathers Stormtroopers to help him hunt for Resistance fighter Rey. You may also encounter Millennium Falcon co-pilot Chewbacca or Resistance spy Vi Moradi. Astromech adventures Build and customize your own indispensable sidekick at Droid Depot. Step into this immersive workshop stocked with stacks of parts, chips and manuals. Pick pieces and parts off a conveyor belt to construct one of two core models: BB-series or R-series astromech. Tip: Droid Depot also offers prebuilt droids, housewares and apparel, all inspired by the design, engineering and building of droids. Blue or green? What does Blue Milk taste like? Head to the Milk Stand to find out! Sample Blue or Green Milk, which are delicious frozen blends with dashes of fruity accents. Galactic dining You’ll notice Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo by the transport shuttle that is sitting atop this food joint. Chef Strono “Cookie” Tuggs’ journeys from system to system allow him to fill his pantry with exotic ingredients he uses to make new and unusual dishes. Perfect for a hearty lunch or dinner, try smoked Kaadu ribs or Fried Endorian Tip-yip, followed by a Batuu-bon for dessert. Tip: Save time by using the mobile ordering feature on the Disneyland app for Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo, Ronto Roaster’s and Milk Stand. Local watering hole No trip to Batuu would be complete without a stop at Oga’s Cantina. The heartbeat of Black Spire Outpost, gather with other visitors to share tales from around the galaxy as you enjoy exotic beverages such as the spicy Bloody Rancor, the foamy Fuzzy Tauntaun or the fruity Carbon Freeze. Tip: Keep your ears open and groove along to the entertaining jams from DJ R-3X, the former droid pilot from Star Tours. Throughout your visit, be sure to have the Play Disney Parks mobile app downloaded to your mobile device.** When accessed inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, the Play Disney Parks app transforms your mobile device into your very own Star Wars: Datapad. Scan the contents hidden inside containers, translate languages, and tune into communications happening throughout the land. Tip: You can also use this tool to hack into droids and door panels (what the locals call “slicing”) to unlock additional stories. What’s on your itinerary for your first visit to Batuu? *Access to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge experiences at Disneyland Resort is subject to capacity. **Message, data and roaming rates may apply. Availability subject to handset limitations, and features may vary by handset, service provider or otherwise. Coverage and app stores not available everywhere. If you’re under 18, get your parents’ permission first. View the full article
  8. For the 8th straight year, the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority has awarded Disney Cruise Line a Blue Circle Award for our voluntary efforts to conserve energy and reduce emissions while the Disney Wonder is in the Port of Vancouver. During the summer when Disney Wonder is docked at the Port of Vancouver for our Alaska voyages, we’re able to turn off the engines onboard and use shore power technology to “plug in” to the port’s electrical grid. This eliminates air emissions and powers the ship’s normal operations, such as lights, A/C, etc., with energy that has already been generated from renewable sources in Vancouver like hydro power and wind power. Pretty cool, huh? The Blue Circle Awards recognize marine carriers and terminal operators that excel in environmental stewardship and participate in the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority’s EcoAction Program and Energy Action Initiative. Three of our Disney Cruise Line ships are specially designed to use shore power when it’s available at ports of call around the world. Plugging in to shore power technology is just one of many ways that Disney Cruise Line strives to minimize our impact on the environment. You may have heard that most recently we announced the elimination of plastic straws, cutlery, stirrers, shopping bags and condiment packets all in an effort to significantly reduce the amount of single-use plastic used onboard. Be sure to check out more about Disney Cruise Line environmental efforts. View the full article
  9. When Walt Disney World’s Annual Pass saw a massive price increase of almost 20% recently, we heard from readers and followers who were, understandably, upset. But where there’s a Disney Parks problem, we’re digging up solutions. And this one could save you over $260 on the purchase of your Annual Pass! Cinderella Castle Sam’s Club members can now purchase a Platinum Annual Pass or a Platinum Plus Annual Pass for a deep discount. Whereas the price directly from Disney is well over $1100 for an adult Platinum Pass… Walt Disney World Annual Pass Pricing …Sam’s Club has Platinum Passes available for just $865.99 — a savings of over $269, per the Sam’s Club website! Sam’s Club Platinum Pass Pricing The savings is the same on the Platinum Plus Pass, where the Sam’s price is $965.99. Sam’s Club Annual Pass Pricing Our calculations worked out to even more than that, but whether you save $269 or $332, it’s a huge savings. 10. We’re BACK at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland because TODAY IS THE DAY we have all been waiting for: the first day for regular guest admission into the land. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Since the opening of Galaxy’s Edge on May 31, 2019, guests have only been able to enter if they had a reservation, which they could obtain by staying at a Disney resort or by getting one of the few offered online. But now, anyone can get into Galaxy’s Edge (here’s how to get into Galaxy’s Edge now that the reservation period is closed)…and the land is experiencing some growing pains! Of course, this morning we headed to the park bright and early to experience the land again and to check out the crowds and the crazy. Let’s go! Entering Black Spire Outpost As of today, guests are able to enter Black Spire Outpost without a reservation as long as the land isn’t at capacity. Once it’s at capacity (which it hit earlier this morning), you’ll need to get a boarding pass through the Disneyland app in order to enter Batuu. This is basically a virtual queue system (e.g. a fastpass to get into the land itself to avoid hours-long lines clogging up the rest of Disneyland) which allows guests to hold their spot in line and enjoy other Disneyland attractions while they wait to get into Galaxy’s Edge. At the moment, Galaxy’s Edge is at capacity for today, so the virtual queue system is the only way to get in at press time. Once guests get the confirmation that they’re boarding group can enter, they have two hours to get into Galaxy’s Edge…and they can stay as long as they’d like. Galaxy’s Edge Marketplace Oga’s Cantina and Savi’s Workshop Reservation Situation So you won’t necessarily need a reservation to get INTO the land anymore, but you WILL need reservations to get into some of the land’s most popular attractions, like Oga’s Cantina and Savi’s Workshop (Lightsaber Land). Oga’s Cantina Oga’s Cantina is the local watering hole in Black Spire Outpost. Here, guests can enjoy fun themed concoctions which are served on tap. They can also listen to DJ R3X as he mixes up a few tunes! You can view our full Oga’s Cantina review here! Savi’s Workshop is the IT place when it comes to creating your very own lightsaber. Sadly, you cannot go inside to check it out unless you are purchasing a lightsaber or are accompanying someone who is (payment is completed in advance). You can read about our Savi’s Workshop lightsaber building experience here! And here’s where the growing pains come in. At 7 AM when we were patiently waiting to enter the land, we started to pursue a reservation for Oga’s Cantina and Savi’s Workshop. Within minutes all of the reservations were gone for the ENTIRE DAY. This could have been an opening day glitch or a wifi issue…we aren’t too sure! Oga’s Cantina Reservations BUT even though we weren’t able to see any openings early this morning…by 8 AM we had the ability to get a reservation for both locations, and pretty easily. That said, by about 8:45AM reservations were again sold out for the two prime attractions. But — just as with fastpasses and prime dining reservations in Disney World, cancellations and changes happen all the time. So, if you find yourself in the sticky situation of not finding a Savi’s or Oga’s reservation, keep refreshing! Times may open up! Oga’s Cantina Reservations Merchandise Information…TONS of Options Are Sold Out Disneyland was nice enough to let guests in a little early this morning. But once we got inside Galaxy’s Edge, we noticed that Disney was going to have a major problem on their hands. Tons of popular merchandise was already sold out before the official 8 AM land opening. Remember those MUST GET gift cards we told you about? Welp, they’re GONE. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Gift Card Those awesome kyber crystals that power your light saber and holocrons? Sold out, too. Kyber Crystals So, if everything is sold out on the very first day, what will tomorrow look like when it comes to merchandise for guests? Will Disneyland be able to keep up with demand? Not yet. After chatting with a few Cast Members, Disney is reporting that they do not know when the merchandise will be restocked. Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run The wait time for Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run is already pretty high! Like 240 minutes high. Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run So, yeah, it’s safe to say that Galaxy’s Edge is busy…and straining under the weight of it. We will be updating this page with the latest info from Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge — including our experience getting into Oga’s Cantina — so be sure to check back for more information! 12. Summer has officially arrived and for many this will include a vacation to the Walt Disney World Resort. Yes, summer means warmer temperatures, but members of the Disney Parks Moms Panel are here to offer up some of their best tips for making the most of a summer vacation at the Most Magical Place on Earth. “The key to having a great day at the parks on a summer day is staying hydrated!” exclaims Eean. “I always place an order with an online grocery delivery service and have cases of bottled water and sports drinks delivered to our Walt Disney World Resort hotel. Every morning before heading out, we load up our drawstring backpacks.” Mid-afternoon breaks are also highly recommended by several of our panelists, including Ashley P. “We head back to our Disney Resort hotel shortly after lunch for some much-needed rest and relaxation. A dip in the pool is a must-do for my kids. With unique water slides and water play areas, the pools at Disney Resort hotels are perfect for families traveling with kids of all ages. After a swim, we all enjoy a nap in our air-conditioned hotel room (even mom and dad). Once everyone is well-rested, we go back to the theme parks for more pixie-dusted adventures!” And speaking of water, Water Parks are another must-do if you are planning a summertime Walt Disney World vacation. “I can’t say this enough,” says Lynne C. “I think the Water Parks are the hidden gems of the Walt Disney World Resort. If we’re visiting during the hot summer months, we’ll always try to spend at least a day (or more!) splashing away at either Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, my pick for kids who are older or more experienced swimmers, or at Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park, which I prefer for little ones and kids who aren’t very strong swimmers.” Jackie H. is also a fan of the Water Parks and has been known to make an eight-hour drive just to splish-splash at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park. For those committed to a full day in the parks, Crystal has the perfect solution for beating the heat in the middle of the day. “I like to plan a table service restaurant for lunch on each of our theme park days. This is the perfect way to enjoy a fantastic meal and some air conditioning during the hottest part of the day,” she explains. “Everyone in the family can cool off, get off their feet and fill their bellies, so we are refreshed and ready for more magic in the theme park! Plus, if you visit a Character Dining meal for lunch, you can even meet some of the Disney Characters on your ‘must-do’ list while you eat.” For more great tips on preparing for your next visit to the Walt Disney World Resort, or for general Disney vacation questions, visit DisneyParksMomsPanel.com for an answer from one of our panelists. 15. Helloooooo from Epcot! Even though it’s just been a few days since our previous visit (we are EVERYWHERE), we still found new treats, new construction, and new merchandise on our most recent stop! If you can say one thing about Disney, it’s that they always keep things fun and interesting — never a dull moment! Welcome to Epcot! Let’s get started with our trip around the park! What’s New in Epcot’s Future World Right off the bat, we noticed something before we even entered the park! Parking Lot Construction As we’ve previously reported, the Main Entrance of Epcot is undergoing a huge transformation — including the tram lane! We snapped these photos from the SKY (aka the Monorail), and were able to get a good look at what’s going on! Parking Lot Construction As we headed into the park, we noted while the right side Leave a Legacy Monoliths are gone… Epcot Entrance …nothing has changed about the Left Side just yet. We predict we will see construction walls again soon as all of the monoliths are being moved to a location just outside of the park’s gateway! Epcot Entrance You can check out more photos of the Main Entrance Transformation here! Per usual, we had to check out the Guardians of the Galaxy Coaster construction, and snap some updated photos. Guardians of the Galaxy Construction Guardians of the Galaxy Construction Guardians of the Galaxy Construction The Guardians of the Galaxy Coaster is slated to open in 2021, in time for Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary celebration and WE. CAN. NOT. WAIT. We also scoped out the unnamed (for now) Space Restaurant near Mission: SPACE. Mission Space Restaurant Construction The restaurant is slated to open later this year, so they’ve still got a long way to go! Speaking of restaurant work, remember how Garden Grill looked like this? Foliage Outside Garden Grill Well, now it looks like THIS! Garden Grill We assume the trees were blocking some light maintenance work, and does’t she look purty all spruced up!? Rounding out the Future World construction, we noticed walls have gone up at the Splash Zone near Mission: SPACE. Future World Splash Zone Construction Sorry kids, no water play time for now! We aren’t sure how long the Splash Zone will be closed (hopefully not too long in these summer temps), but we will keep you posted as always! Future World Splash Zone Construction What’s New in Epcot’s World Showcase The first thing we noticed on our lap around the World is that part of the scaffolding in Mexico is gone at last! La Cantina de San Angel Previously at La Cantina de San Angel, the scaffolding continued along these waterfront columns. La Cantina de San Angel From what we can tell, it looks like it was a paint job to spruce up our favorite waterside spot to grab some nachos in World Showcase, and we look forward to getting the full waterside views back once the rest of the scaffolding is taken down. Inside the pyramid, we spotted these super cute Sugar Skull Candy tins! Mexico Sugar Skull Candy Tins Mexico Sugar Skull Candy Tin We also spotted Super Rebanaditas Lollipops, which are an authentic Mexican treat! Takumi-Tei Construction Takumi-Tei Construction Takumi-Tei Construction Most notably, a menu board has been installed… but it’s still blank, so stay tuned to DFB for when the full menu is revealed! In France, we noticed walls and scaffolding have gone up around the center of the pavilion. France Pavilion Construction France Pavilion Construction Of course, we also had to check out the rest of the French Pavilion construction. France Pavilion Construction I for one, cannot WAIT for the new Crêperie! Next door in the United Kingdom, we found a fun new way to cool off in the Florida heat. Pimm’s Frozen Lemonade The new Pimm’s Frozen Lemonade is made with gin, so this one is for the big kids. You can read our full review here! And lastly on our stroll, we saw a little bit of scaffolding up in the Canada pavilion on the rock wall near Le Cellier. Canada Scaffolding We assume it’s just a touch up, but we will keep you posted if it gets more exciting. What’s New in Epcot’s Shops and Stores – New Merch! 17. Ahhh, the infamous Beverly soda. You know the one — it’s the bitter soda from Italy that’s located in Club Cool in Epcot’s Future World at Walt Disney World. The one you trick your friends into drinking as you photograph their reactions for posterity. Yeah, that Beverly. Club Cool Flavors in Epcot Beverly used to be found only in Epcot’s Future World, but when the Coca-Cola Store Orlando opened in Disney Springs a few years ago, they brought the Beverly with them. (They also brought just about every other international and domestic Coke product, too!) Coca-Cola Store Orlando The Coca-Cola Store is three stories tall and filled with a polar bear mascot meet-and-greet, a rooftop bar, and more Coke-branded merchandise than you’d ever thought possible. Coca-cola Store Rooftop Beverage Bar Area The rooftop bar is a cool space with views for days and a ton of international sodas, Coke floats, and adult beverages. One of these adult beverages is the ominously-named Beverly’s Revenge. We shared the controversial news of this cocktail’s arrival back in 2017 when it was comprised of Hendrick’s Gin, Solerno Blood Orange Liqueur, and Mint (see our review here!). Beverly’s Revenge (Old Version) Spoiler alert (or not): it was…not our favorite. But on a recent trip to Disney Springs, we noticed something different: Beverly’s Revenge is now made with Hendrick’s Gin, Blackberry Liqueur, Cherry Syrup, Mint, and Orange Slices. Would this updated cocktail with the addition of more berry and cherry flavor help rescue our least favorite soda from certain rejection? Beverly’s Revenge Short answer: YES! At first glance, Beverly’s Revenge is a much more appealing color — pink rather than brownish orange. The cherry syrup really comes through in the color. And since we eat (er, drink) with our eyes first, the cocktail is already off to a better start! Beverly’s Revenge And taste-wise: call me crazy but I enjoyed it! My first sip was overwhelmingly Beverly-filled which, blech. But after I mixed the Beverly up with the gin, sweet blackberry liqueur, and sweet cherry syrup, the bitterness of the Beverly acted somewhat like tonic, and the flavors reminded me of a fruity gin & tonic. Is it the best cocktail I’ve ever had? No, but I didn’t hate it, and I’d even drink it again. And for a drink made with Beverly, that is a HUGE compliment. Are you anti- or pro-Beverly? Let us know which side of the cup you land on in the comments! Related posts: New Cocktails at House of Blues in Disney Springs! 23. Oel ngati kameie from Pandora in Disney’s Animal Kingdom! (That’s a local greeting. ) Today we have a NEW (well…kinda) cocktail for you from the Valley of Mo’ara! Mo’ara Margarita Re-introducing the Mo’ara Margarita! But what do we mean by reintroducing? Let us explain… Pongu Pongu When Pandora – the World of Avatar first opened, the local snack stand was (and still is) Pongu Pongu. It’s a great spot to grab a Pandora exclusive beer or snack — like the Pongu Lumpia, which is still one of our favorites. Pongu Lumpia But when Pongu Pongu first debuted, the Mo’ara Margarita was made with Sauza Conmemorativo Anejo Tequila, strawberry and blood orange flavors, and topped with Strawberry Boba Balls. Mo’ara Margarita It was good — we didn’t have any real complaints other than it wasn’t anything super unique flavor-wise, and the tequila didn’t really shine through. It basically just tasted like a frozen Strawberry margarita, not that that’s a bad thing. But on our most recent trip to Pandora, we realized something was a little different… Pongu Pongu Mo’ara Menu Update …the Mo’ara Margarita is now BLUE! (Has Merryweather been here?) Of course we had to try it! NEW Mo’ara Margarita The frozen drink is now made with Sauza Conmemorativo Anejo Tequila and Blue Curaçao with lime juice, and topped with Passion Fruit Boba Balls. Passion Fruit Boba Balls The same way the previous version basically tasted like a frozen Strawberry Margarita, this tastes basically just like a traditional frozen Lime Margarita. The Blue Curaçao helps the Tequila shine through, so this one does taste a little more alcoholic than its predecessor. Still, it’s not super strong by any means. The Passion Fruit Boba Balls are clearly passion fruit — you’ll taste it when they POP in your mouth. Mo’ara Margarita So which one is better? Honestly it depends on which flavor of margarita you like! If you prefer Strawberry margs, you may miss the original recipe. But if you lean towards Lime, then this is the one for you! We give the nod to the updated version because the alcohol shines through slightly more, and honestly — look how pretty it is!! If you’re looking for a cool, refreshing, Instgrammable drink in Pandora, then this certainly fits the bill! Want more Animal Kingdom Eats? Check out our video of 20 Animal Kingdom Exclusive Snacks!! 25. Today I donned a hard hat and work boots to walk out into the site of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge here at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida, which is set to open Aug. 29. I’ve been a Disney Cast Member for a little over a year now, and moments like these are exactly why I wanted to work here. Prior to joining Disney, I covered the theme park industry as a journalist and had the opportunity to visit every Disney park around the world. I’ve seen firsthand why our guests love Disney parks; with so many new and wonderful experiences on the way, it’s a great time to be a fan. But whether we’re talking about sweeping new lands, new attractions or new cruise ships, these projects all have something in common: change and relentless innovation. This is not a new thing for Disney, either. A few years back, I had the privilege of speaking with Disney Legend Jack Lindquist, the first president of Disneyland Resort; one thing he told me I’ll never forget is how during his decades working at the Happiest Place on Earth, he wanted a balance between honoring the past and paving the way for the future. The evolution of Disney parks is inspired by Walt himself, who envisioned new experiences “as long as there is imagination left in the world.” Walt Disney Imagineering President Bob Weis recently said, “We are constantly innovating ways to create new magic – to ignite the imaginations of our guests, excite and enchant them, and immerse them in their favorite Disney stories.” Pirates of the Caribbean is a great example of this fundamental Disney philosophy. There have been many evolutionary moments for this classic attraction since it debuted at Disneyland in 1967, as several enhancements were made over the years. And then in 2016, the attraction was updated again when Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle for the Sunken Treasure debuted at Shanghai Disneyland in China. The Shanghai version features a highly advanced propulsion system that provides unprecedented control over the position and rotation of the boats you ride in, while dimensional set pieces combine with large-scale media screens, Audio-Animatronics figures and other special effects to create an experience that feels familiar yet entirely new and exhilarating. It’s one of my favorite Disney attractions on the planet! So as I knock some dust from Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge off my boots, I’d just like to take a moment to daydream about some other fantastic new experiences heading our way over the next several years: • Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will open later this year inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at both Disneyland park and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. • Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway will roll into Disney’s Hollywood Studios next year and Disneyland Park in 2022. • The largest transformation in the history of Epcot is underway at Walt Disney World Resort. • Disney Cruise Line is adding three new ships to its fleet in 2021, 2022 and 2023. • A TRON attraction is set to open in 2021 at Magic Kingdom Park in Florida, based on the acclaimed TRON Lightcycle Power Run at Shanghai Disneyland. • Shanghai Disneyland is creating a “Zootopia”-themed land. As I stood inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, staring with fanboy adoration at the Millennium Falcon, I thought about these projects and how amazing it is to be part of The Walt Disney Company right now. I’m looking forward to sharing more details with you here on the Disney Parks Blog about these experiences in the weeks, months and years ahead as I help chronicle this unprecedented period of growth for our company. I think I have a lot more hard-hat days in my future…and I can’t wait to bring you along with me! View the full article
