Sebastian’s Bistro is the table service restaurant offering at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. Learn About: Sebastian's Bistro Disney World Restaurants This eatery opened last October as extensive renovations at the Moderate Resort came to an end. Our first visit to Sebastian’s was fine (see our review and first look here!), but we weren’t exactly rushing back to try it. For starters, although it’s a lovely restaurant, it’s off the beaten path a bit if you’re not staying at the resort. But the food also didn’t knock our socks off. It was good, but it wasn’t great. Our advice at the time was not to go out of your way to try it, but that you might give the Caribbean-inspired dishes a whirl if you were nearby. Would our most recent dinner change this recommendation? Or is Sebastian’s at risk of sinking under the sea? The restaurant has already closed its lunch offering, so now it’s open only for dinner. Sebastian’s Bistro Atmosphere Sebastian’s Bistro is the Resort’s replacement for the formerly lackluster Shutters, and the updated decor was a welcome change. Right from the entry, it’s clear you’re in the Caribbean (Disney’s version, anyway). Shutters (the architectural detail, not the old restaurant) give you an island vibe, and the colors are vibrant. Sebastian’s Bistro On this night, the Resort and its centerpiece Old Port Royale (where you’ll find Sebastian’s as well as Banana Cabana and Centertown Market) had been rained upon, and the wet wood surfaces somehow enforced even more dramatically the Caribbean feel. Sebastian’s Bistro The dining room has a breezy, beachy feel due to high ceilings and ocean-inspired colors and fixtures. Sebastian’s Bistro Seating is at tables with comfy chairs upholstered in fabric in shades of blue. The white-washed wood tables are chunky but convey the brightness of the seaside. Sebastian’s Bistro Table settings are simple, with the water-color menu really taking center stage. Because why shouldn’t it? Sebastian’s Bistro The restaurant’s titular crab looks joyful as he cavorts amongst the coral, and if you’re not smiling right now looking at him, are you even human? (Better check for fins!) Eats Sebastian’s opened last October, but as is often the case at Walt Disney World’s table service restaurants, the menu has already experienced some changes. We stopped in for dinner to try a few items we hadn’t previously reviewed. The Drink Menu features a few fun Non-Alcoholic Specialty Drinks (take note, those of you on Disney Dining Plan!), including The Peachcomber, Mutiny Punch, and Landlubber Lemonade. Drink Menu Specialty Cocktails also receive a bit of an island twist with options like a Guava-Rita, the Caribbean Smuggler, and a Caribbean Mai Tai. Where’s all the rum? It’s also here: mixed in drinks and served up in a flight! Drink Menu The menu of Appetizers, Dinner Mains, and an Enhancement include Caribbean flavors like Jerk Chicken Wings, Coconut Shrimp and Grits, and Spiny Lobster Tail. Menu And Desserts offer fruity and chocolatey bits like Mango-Passion Fruit Panna Cotta and Warm Chocolate Pudding (with cocoa nib tuile!). Dessert Menu We ordered the Empanada Sampler, which features two fillings: one grilled fish and one braised beef. Empanana Sampler The fillings are encased in flaky fried pastry, and these were thankfully fried such that they didn’t absorb (and therefore taste of) too much grease. The frying also achieved a nice browning and crisp edges. Empanana Sampler The fish filling is mahi mahi, and while it was fine, this wasn’t a big hit. The flavors weren’t dynamic enough for our group. Empanana Sampler The braised beef, on the other hand, was very flavorful, and the amount stuffed into the empanada was generous. This was juicy and tender — really a great option. We might try ordering this with just beef in the future. So less “sampler” and more “beef”. Empanana Sampler For dipping, the Sampler includes Guajillo Chili Sauce. This is very much a tomato sauce with only a hint of pepper and no heat to speak of, so don’t fret if you’re heat-averse. It was fine but not amazing. Empanana Sampler The Cuban Black Bean Soup was a delicious and hearty option. We imagine a bowl of this in the cooler days of winter would be incredibly satisfying. Cuban Black Bean Soup The stewed black beans are vegan, according to our server, and they were tasty on their own. But for carnivores, the toppings are really the stars of the soup. House-made Chorizo was awesome — spicy, meaty, and delicious. Our only complaint about the chorizo is that we wanted more chorizo. Cuban Black Bean Soup Jasmine Rice, Micro-cilantro, and a swirl of herbed Sour Cream completed the dish, and each element contributed something to the dish. The starchy rice was a nice conduit for the stronger flavors, the cilantro added a light freshness, and the sour cream was a thoughtful contrast. Cuban Black Bean Soup Overall, this was a pretty stellar bowl of soup. Vegan readers will want to confirm when dining at Sebastian’s, but the soup on our visit was vegan, and so without the chorizo and sour cream, it would be a simplified but still yummy option. Note that there are currently also a couple of other vegan/vegetarian appetizer options, making this a pretty good spot for plant-based apps! Cuban Black Bean Soup For Dinner Mains, we went a meatier direction with the Taste of the Caribbean. This is a trio of components (selected by the diner) with sides of rice, black beans, and shaved carrot. We opted for Coconut Shrimp, Jerk Chicken, and Slow-cooked Pork, but other options include Goat Curry and a Plant-based Curry. Taste of the Caribbean Before we dig in, let’s chat about the Goat Curry. Previously, the menu included a Goat Curry option, but it was omitted on the current menu. Our server told us that if diners wish to do so, they can order the Taste of the Caribbean with three servings of Goat Curry. The same is possible for the Plant-based Curry, so vegan and vegetarian diners can opt for that if they wish. (Although there’s a cheaper Caribbean Vegetable Curry that might work, too!) Taste of the Caribbean Okay, back to the meal at hand. The Jerk Chicken component of our Taste of the Caribbean was a tasty play on spicy (from the jerk rub) and sweet (from the glaze). The chicken was grilled (check out those grill marks!), and it was really good. Taste of the Caribbean The Slow-Cooked Pork was our favorite of the trio. It had the right level of saltiness and seasoning, and it was incredibly tender. We could tell it was genuinely slow-cooked. So delicious. We could probably double-up or triple-up on the pork on this dish and be satisfied (and full!). Taste of the Caribbean The Coconut Shrimp was our least favorite component, but that’s not to say it wasn’t good! There just wasn’t anything particularly special about them, so they couldn’t compete with the flavorful chicken and pork. These were fried perfectly and had a good ratio of breading and coconut. Taste of the Caribbean The sides were basic and fine on the dish, with that rice really benefiting from glaze run-off from the chicken. Overall, this was a delicious plate of food. And at $32 for this main entree, it could be a terrific table-service credit value on the Disney Dining Plan! (Pair it with a cocktail and dessert for a total DDP value of well over $50!) Taste of the Caribbean Another great DDP value (and pricey out-of-pocket option) is the Grilled Rib-Eye. This juicy steak is a 10-oz. cut of USDA Choice Rib-Eye, and it’s packed with flavor! Grilled RIb-Eye The flavor comes primarily from a slathering of Chimichurri sauce, heavy on the cilantro and garlic! Grilled RIb-Eye The steak was cooked to our specified doneness, so no complaints there. And while the server explained the steak is not marinated, it certainly eats as if it was — that’s to say, it’s super tender and lovely to eat. Also lovely: the Sweet Potato-Plantain Mash! This was surprisingly good. We found it to be a decent balance of sweet and savory, and it was a colorful accompaniment for the steak. Grilled RIb-Eye Adding freshness to the dish is a pile of Arugula Salad tossed in a light vinaigrette and some Roasted Peppers. We enjoyed these, too! Roasted Peppers We ended our thoroughly indulgent meal with one more indulgence: Classic Mile High Key Lime Pie. Why the mile-high moniker? Classic Mile High Key Lime Pie This is why! A veritable mountain of shiny vanilla meringue! It’s toasted golden-brown, and it was fun to eat. But if you’re not a meringue fan, you’ll definitely want to go a different direction because this is pretty serious. (Notice, though, that the meringue is separated from the key lime custard itself by a thin layer of… we’re not sure. It didn’t add any flavor, but we surmise it’s there for stability.) Classic Mile High Key Lime Pie The key lime custard itself was dense, rich, and tart: really, really delicious! Classic Mile High Key Lime Pie Though the menu doesn’t say this, our slice came with a scoop of guanabana sorbet and some diced tropical fruit. According to our server, the kitchen has three flavors of sorbet — guanabana, mango-lime, and guava — and there’s no way to know exactly which yours will come with. So if you have a preference, definitely ask about this when you place your order! Also: hello, thick, buttery graham cracker crust! How gorgeous is that?! Classic Mile High Key Lime Pie In case you were wondering, we could not finish all of this food. Our server kindly packed it up and included some classy plasticware so we could enjoy the leftovers later. This is a great help for those staying at the Resort who want to limit food waste and maximize their midnight snacking! Left-overs all packed up! So, phew! We’re full! Not only that, we left very satisfied from this meal experience! Nosh or Not? Make a deal with a sea witch for some fins so you can swim into Sebastian’s if: You love the flavors of the Caribbean and want to enjoy them on vacation. You’re calling Caribbean Beach home, and you want to try all of the Resort’s restaurants. You’re on a mission to try cuisines of the world while in the World. Point your feet elsewhere if: You aren’t staying at or traveling near Caribbean Beach Resort. Table service meals or Resort dining aren’t on your schedule this trip. The flavors of the Caribbean just aren’t your thing. (There’s LOTS of cilantro.) Overall This visit to Sebastian’s was definitely a step-up from our last one. And while we still think it’s too inconveniently located to be a must-do recommendation, once the Disney Skyliner opens, it may well be more accessible and worth the 5-15 minute trip through the skies from Epcot. For sure the flavors evoke the Caribbean, and the atmosphere is both relaxed and elegant, making it a nice place to dine overall. Will life always be the bubbles at Sebastian’s Bistro? We can’t know for sure… so we’ll have to swim on back! Interested in the Disney Skyliner gondola system that will carry guests over Walt Disney World and to and from Caribbean Beach Resort? Toy Story 4 is officially in theatres, and to celebrate Disney has released a bunch of new merchandise! We’ve already given you a sneak peek into some of it by showing you the new Dooney & Bourke collection and the Forky Magic Band. Toy Story 4 Dresses But, now we have a few more items to show you. And we’re not gonna lie, we really don’t know what to think about one of them… So, today we noticed a few new dresses at The Dress Shop at Disneyland’s Downtown Disney District. And while one of them isn’t too out of the ordinary…the other is! Toy Story 4 Dresses The first dress we noticed was a more vintage looking dress covered in a fun Toy Story 4 print. This silhouette really is the norm at The Dress Shop. Toy Story 4 Dress The dress is a dark green-bluish color and has the most adorable lace trim. We love the print as it is covered in friends both old and new like Woody, Bo Peep, Forky, and more. Toy Story 4 Dress The back of the dress has a nice bow to tie the look together. You can get this dress for $128! You can also find this Toy Story 4 dress online here. Toy sTory 4 Dress Then, we noticed something a little out of the ordinary in the Dress Shop…oh yeah, we spotted a Bo Peep Jump Suit! And honestly, we really don’t know how to feel about it. Do we love it? Do we hate it? We seriously don’t know. Bo Peep Outfit This outfit looks very similar to the one Bo Peep wears in the film…so, that’s pretty cool?! Another interesting thing about this outfit is that it’s two looks in one — because there is a removable polka dotted skirt. So, you can wear it as a dress or you can remove the skirt and wear it more like a jumper. And get this, once you removed the skirt…it’s intended to be worn as a cape. YES, A CAPE. Bo Peep Outfit The inner portion of the skirt is lined with a different material, that matches the upper center portion of the bodice. And on one of the pant legs, you will spot Bo’s sheep. The dress/jumper/pantsuit…whatever you want to call it is $168. What do you think about this new merch option? Would you wear it? For those of you who would, you can find the Bo Peep jumpsuit and convertible skirt online here. Of course, Bo isn’t Bo without her flock of sheep, so to complete your Bo Peep look you can also pick up this purse. Sheep Purse The purse, which has Billy, Goat, and Groff, three of Bo’s sheep, on it is SUPER soft. Sheep Purse AND the sheep have the cutest little hooves. Have you ever seen anything adorable? You can round up this sheep purse to add to your own flock for $65. The Billy, Goat, and Groff purse is also available online here. Sheep Purse To keep this fun look going, you can also pick up a pink bow headband, much like Bo’s. Bo Peep Headband It too has Bo’s sheep on it along with her famous staff. This bright pink and totally-necessary-if-you’re-rocking-the-jumper accessory is $15.99. All of these looks are also available in merchandise locations at Walt Disney World. What do you think of these new merchandise options? Are you going to rock the new Bo Peep look? Let us know in the comments below! A few days ago we shared that Annual Passholders would be able to stop by the AP Corner from June 2oth – September 2, 2019, for the chance to purchase a unique musical sipper – the Ocarina Mug – while supplies last. AP Corner Well, today we stopped by and purchased our musical sipper and received a few mementos to celebrate The Lion King as well. The Ocarina Mug has been sold in Animal Kingdom previously — check it out here — but this is its first time popping up at the Disneyland Resort. Ocarina Mug The sipper is covered in a beautiful design, which is made to look like wood carvings. It really reminds us of the Tree of Life in Animal Kingdom. And it has a super fun wind flute handle! Ocarina Mug Ocarina Mug And get this, the musical sipper is actually intended to be played as it comes with a music sheet that will teach you how to play songs like “it’s a small world.” And y’all, it was really fun to attempt to play. Ocarina Mug The Ocarina Mug is not the only thing that Annual Passholders can get when visiting the AP Corner. They will also receive a Lion King button and an Annual Passholder magnet (while supplies last). Ocarina Mug So, stop by the AP Corner this summer to get your very own Ocarina Mug and YOU TOO can become a wind flute master. Will you be stopping by the AP Corner this summer? Bonjour from France — well, Epcot’s France, of course! The French Pavilion has long been a favorite of ours — and recently they have crushed it (as always) with treats like the Frosé and the new version of the Frangipane! Les Halles Frose But today, we are sharing something food related — though not edible. We were strolling through France when we spotted the CUTEST jacket that we just HAD to share with you ASAP! Ratatouille Chef Jacket Look at this adorable Chef Jacket inspired by Remy from Ratatouille!! Ratatouille Chef Jacket Close-up “Little Chef” is front and center (well, left) on the jacket, which looks like a traditional restaurant chef’s coat. And if you think the front is adorable, just wait until you see the back! Ratatouille Chef Jacket The back of the coat has another illustration of Remy salting one of his creations — which include a croissant, cappuccino, and desserts! There is also a wedge of cheese, because it’s France after all! Gusteau’s restaurant logo is also prominent in the design. To top it off the back reads “Ici c’est moi le chef” which translates to “It is me, the BOSS.” (Well, technically it says “It is me, the Chef” but the Chef is the boss of the kitchen so… .) Do you love Remy and want to wear him outside of the kitchen as well? Then look no further than this adorable Ratatouille tank! Ratatouille Tank Top This fun top has the only rat we’d allow in the kitchen, and the French words of some of our favorite treats, such as chocolat and macarons. Ratatouille Tank Close-up Am I the only one who wishes Remy’s La boîte à Bonbons (Candy Box) was a real treat shop? Last but not least, check out this fun Ratatouille travel mug! The bright colors and drawings are sure to brighten your morning commute! (Well the mug, plus the coffee.) Ratatouille Travel Mug All of these items were spotted in the France’s Wine Shop, which is located behind the fountains in the pavilion, across from L’artisan des Glaces. We think these items are très magnifique!! What do you think — will you be grabbing any of these Remy-inspired items on your next visit to Epcot? Let us know in the comments! We went over to Uptown Jewelers today to check out a laundry list of Pandora charms. Some are brand new, some have been around for a while, but all of them deserve a place in the spotlight. Pandora Villain Charms From classic Disney villains, to Up, the Lion King, and Forever Friends charms, these are simply to precious to handle. I mean, I’m a Pandora charm collector myself and many of these newer options practically have me wanting to throw my money on the counter. Let’s kick things off with the villain charm set, because they really seem to be taking over the kingdom lately with the new Disney Villains After Hours event and the new Cruella de Vil Hide-a-Way event. The set features Disney villains like Maleficent, the Queen of Hearts, and Cruella de Vil. Pandora Villain Charms The Queen of Hearts charm is…of course…in the shape of a heart! The backs of the charms are really cool as well, as they give the charm a bit more villainous personality. The Cruella de Vil charm says vain, vile, and vicious. Maleficent Charm The Queen of Hearts charm reads royal badness. Queen of Hearts Charm And the back of the Maleficent charm says mistress of all evil! Maleficient Charm We really think that this set would be a great way to start your Pandora charm collection…which of course you NEED to DO since Pandora has been releasing such cute charms like the Enchanted Tiki Room charms lately. Another new Lion King set has been released just in time for the film’s 25th Anniversary and the upcoming release of the live-action. The set includes a bangle that reads “remember who you are.” Lion King Set It also has three really fun Lion King charms. This charm is of the iconic Hakuna Matata scene with Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa. Lion King Set Lion King Set There is also a charm with two of our favorite love birds, Simba and Nala. I love the shape and the different colored stones on this one. Lion King Set Of course, The Lion King wouldn’t be what it is without Mufasa. So, you can also get a Mufasa charm as well. Lion King Set I’m personally a lover of all things Up related, so I freaked out a bit when I saw the Grape Soda Pin charm. Grape Soda Charm And lastly, there is also a new Forever Friends charm that has three of Disney’s most iconic characters on it, Mickey, Goofy, and Donald. Forever Friends Charm You can find all of these options at Uptown Jewelers in Magic Kingdom — and we assume they should be at locations like Mouse Gear as well. A new tasting event kicked off earlier this month in Disney Springs. From now through September 2, 2019, guests can visit 20 dining venues throughout Disney Springs and enjoy Floridian-inspired eats and drinks for Flavors of Florida 2019! Flavors of Florida at YeSake But it’s not just restaurants like The Polite Pig and Morimoto Asia participating in Flavors of Florida. In fact, our Flavors of Florida stop today is YeSake, a small food kiosk on the West Side. YeSake Kiosk in Disney Springs The featured Flavors of Florida items here include a Fresh Tuna Tekka Don and the Violet Sake Slushie. Violet Sake Slush The Violet Sake Slushie features a frozen blend of Japanese sake and prickly pear. Violet Sake Slushie It’s topped with pretty konpeito sugar candy. Violet Sake Slushie This delicious refresher boasts that distinct prickly pear flavor which sets it apart from other frozen slushies, so you’re getting something which is still fruity and sweet, but not cloying. Violet Sake Slushie Oh, and the sake plays its part in making this drink something outside of your typical slushie, too . Altogether, it’s delicious! The Violet Sake Slush is $10.00 at YeSake, and will be available through September 2nd as part of Flavors of Florida! See what else we think you should try in Disney Springs in our DFB YouTube Video! Review! A NEW Pimm’s Slush Has Landed in Epcot!!
Disney4me posted a topic in Disney Food/Restaurants
Summer is definitely upon us and we’re always looking for ways to beat the heat. While we have our favorite frozen drinks like Pongu Pongu’s Night Blossom, we’ve been on the lookout for something new! Pimm’s Frozen Lemonade Today was our lucky day because we spotted the new Frozen Pimm’s Lemonade in Epcot’s UK Pavilion! Pimm’s Frozen Lemonade Now, I know you guys — like us — LOVE the Pimm’s Cup cocktail option on the Disney cocktail menu around the parks. And you’ll find a similar flavor here. This alcoholic slushy has that fun, unique flavor — without tasting like a regular lemonade. With the gin-based Pimm’s, it was a very dry drink with a bit of spice and a few herbal notes. We really enjoyed it, but it may not be for everyone! Pimm’s Frozen Lemonade If you’d like to try Pimm’s Frozen Lemonade, you can find it at the Rose & Crown beer stand for $12.50. Today, Disneyland released three new Toy Story treats to celebrate the release of Toy Story 4. We’ve already reviewed two of the treats for ya: Bonnie’s Boot Float and the Loop-de-Loop Sundae. Carnival Cake But now we’re back to review our third and favorite treat from the trio, the Carnival Cake. We suggest skipping the sundae and heading straight for the Carnival Cake because it’s the exact same price as the Loop-de-Loop Sundae, has similar ingredients, but beats the sundae when it comes to flavor. Carnival Cake The Carnival Cake is a house-made fried funnel cake topped with fruity cereal and milk, whipped cream and raspberry sauce. Carnival Cake We loved the flavors of the toppings as they were all very light, so no one flavor overpowered another. And the funnel cake, like most Stage Door Cafe funnel cakes, was fried to perfection…so that always helps! (: Carnival Cake We REALLY enjoyed this funnel cake think it’s a total must-buy if you can snag it before it leaves since it’s a limited-time offering. You can find the Carnival Cake at Stage Door Cafe for $7.99 before using an Annual Passholder discount. With an AP discount, it’ll come out to $7.32. What do you think about this crazy carnival cake? Toy Story 4 is now in theaters and we can’t contain our excitement! We’ve waited for ages for this movie to come out and are so thrilled it finally has. Goofy’s Candy Company Bakery Case Goofy’s Candy Company in Disney Springs has introduced some adorable treats inspired by the beloved franchise, so now we have even MORE to celebrate! Among the new treats to Goofy’s Candy Company are two caramel apples! One is modeled after the iconic Pixar Ball and the other by the adorable Little Green Men! “Oooooooh!” These have made their way over from Disneyland Resort and it’s cool to see them here. Pixar Ball Caramel Apple We love them both, but we are especially loving the Alien Caramel Apple! Each one is complete with a bright green hue, glittered sugar, and of course, three eyes. In case these look familiar, we previously spotted Alien Caramel Apples at Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff in Disney California Adventure! Alien Caramel Apple Whether you love the Pixar Ball or Alien Caramel Apple, you can purchase either for $12.99. Toy Story Cake Pops Once we pulled ourselves away from the mouthwatering caramel apples (never a small feat), we noticed some Toy Story cake pops. One is inspired by Woody’s sheriff badge, while the other is based on our favorite Space Ranger, Buzz Lightyear! Sheriff Badge Cake Pops Buzz Lightyear Cake Pops So, take your pick of a pop! Both cake pops are $4.29 and are eligible as a Disney Dining Plan snack credit. We aren’t sure how long they’ll be available, so if you want a chance to try these treats, head over to Goofy’s Candy Company in Disney Springs as soon as you can! And, most of all… ENJOY Toy Story 4! Which one of these adorable treats do you plan to try? Let us know in the comments! The Disney parks have exploded with Toy Story treats and merchandise in celebration of new Toy Story 4 premiere today. Bonnie’s Boot Float I mean we’ve seen it all from a new Dooney & Bourke collection to a Forky MagicBand, to the weirdest Bo Peep outfit ever. Also, Disney has introduced some really fun new Toy Story treats, like the new Bonnie’s Boot Float. This treat comes in a SUPER cute souvenir cup…which you can also snag at Disney World’s Disney Springs — find out how here! Bonnie’s Boot Float Bonnie’s Boot Float is a total sugar-lover’s dream as it’s filled with blue cotton candy ice cream and Sprite. And then it’s topped with colorful cotton candy and actual pieces of…like legit candy!! Bonnie’s Boot Float Though this is a super fun treat…be warned, it’s MESSY. It melts very quickly and most of our toppings ended up on the ground. With that being said, we think this would have been more enjoyable without the random pieces of candy, but we still really liked it and would sip on it again! Bonnie’s Boot Float You can find Bonnie’s Boot Float for a limited time at the Golden Horseshoe in Disneyland for $17.99. If you’re an Annual Passholder, it’ll be $16.47 after your discount! Disney wants you to “Think PINK!” Imagination Pink, that is! It is, after all, the newest color craze in Disney parks with Minnie Mouse Ears, a Spirit Jersey, and more playing on the trend. We’ve been roundin’ up all sorts of new Toy Story 4 treats lately and honestly, it’s been one wild ride. We’ve found epic eats like Bonnie’s Boot Float (which we’ll be showing you shortly) and Dole Whip filled boots along with a ton of new Toy Story 4 merch. Loop-de-Loop Sundae But that was just the beginning as we have even MORE Toy Story stuff to share with you. So, hang on tight. Is your seatbelt buckled? Well, it should be… because we are about to tackle the new Loop-de-Loop Sundae at The Golden Horseshoe in Disneyland! This treat plays on the fun churro loop trend that’s been all the talk in California. The sundae is made with vanilla ice cream and is topped with strawberry and raspberry sauce and TWO fruit cereal churro “loops.” Loop-de-Loop Sundae We might have just received a bad batch, but we really weren’t fond of this sundae. The churros were really hard — not at all the warm, delicious, soft churros that we’re used to. Truly a bummer since this treat looks like so much fun. Loop-de-Loop Sundae When digging into our sundae, we found a few surprise strawberry chunks at the bottom that were actually enjoyable, and we loved the fun flavors from the Fruity Pebbles. So, the treat wasn’t a total bust…but it still isn’t a favorite. Loop-de-Loop Sundae The Loop-de-Loop Sundae is being offered at The Golden Horseshoe (just like Bonnie’s Boot Float, which we’ll be sharing with you soon) for a limited time. And you can get this treat for $7.99. Annual Passholder discounts are offered, which brings the total to $7.32. Will you tackle this crazy treat on your next Disneyland vacation? Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is officially open in Disneyland, so you know what that means: TONS of new and exciting merchandise… and it’s still rolling in! DJ R3X Funko Pop! Just yesterday the Milk Stand in Galaxy’s Edge at long last began selling the souvenir Milk Sipper — which you can see here. Another highly anticipated item (ever since its announcement in April) is the DJ R3X Funko Pop! which is now available exclusively in Disneyland! If you aren’t familiar with DJ R3X, he actually plays a very important role on the planet Batuu. DJ R3X Funko Pop! Currently, you will find the droid (more easily referred to as DJ Rex) at Oga’s Cantina mixing up tunes in Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland! But, once Galaxy’s Edge opens in Disney World’s Hollywood Studios, you will find him at Oga’s there as well. DJ R3X Funko Pop! The DJ R3X Funko Pop! is available at Disneyana, WonderGround Gallery, and Trolley Treats for $24.99. Currently, the Funko Pop! version of DJ R3X is currently only available at Disneyland, though we assume that he may make his way to Disney World when Galaxy’s Edge opens in Hollywood Studios on August 29th (as Disney has announced this Funko Pop! as a Disney Parks exclusive). DJ R3X Funko Pop! With the required reservation period for Disneyland’s Galaxy’s Edge coming to a close, we are excited to try out the virtual queue system, which you can read more about here. Also, don’t forget that you will still need a reservation for Savi’s Workshop and Oga’s Cantina when visiting the land. Learn all about the next phase of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge here! Just last week, Disney fans everywhere commiserated about Disneyland’s Main Street Cinema being transformed into a merchandise location. Main Street Cinema Well, Disney heard the cries of fans… and listened. Sign in front of Main Street Cinema LAST WEEK Because, as of yesterday, Main Street Cinema no longer features “Cartoons and Collectibles…” Instead, it’s simply and happily “Cartoons.” Main Street Cinema Guests can once again visit the location and watch classic Disney shorts as they were intended to be seen — in the dark and without being surrounded by red, white, and blue merchandise (as they were last week). Main Street Cinema They have also added benches to the location for more viewing enjoyment! Main Street Cinema So, stop by and watch a classic Disney cartoon on your next visit to Disneyland to ensure that this classic stop indeed remains a classic spot. Are you happy about this change? Refreshment Outpost in Epcot’s World Showcase (you’ll find it on the stroll from the China pavilion on the way towards Germany) typically serves up your basic soft-serve and slushies, with a few fun cocktails thrown in for good measure. Refreshment Outpost New Menu Items! But they’re changing things up a bit with some new menu items at the Outpost: the Nigerian Meat Pie, No Worries Panna Cotta, and the Savanna Smoothie! Refreshment Outpost Menu Starting off with the Nigerian Meat Pie, we thoroughly enjoyed this dish. The pie contains an interesting blend of apricot curry, beef, and onions. We personally thought it needed a bit more spice, but the flavor is still great. Nigerian Meat Pie This dish costs $5.49 or a Disney Dining Plan snack credit, and we thought the portion was solid for the price. We can highly recommend the Nigerian Meat Pie for a midday or afternoon snack! Nigerian Meat Pie The No Worries Panna Cotta consists of layers of raspberry, papaya, and mango panna cotta, with a cookie crumble base and a Lion King white chocolate piece. No Worries Panna Cotta For starters, we love the Hakuna Matata reference in this treat’s name — it certainly made us smile! While we weren’t bowled over with the texture of the panna cotta, we thought the fruity flavors were wonderful together. We didn’t expect to like the cookie crumbles paired with the fruit, but we actually really enjoyed it. It’s not too sweet, which we definitely appreciated. No Worries Panna Cotta You can try the No Worries Panna Cotta for $4.49 or a DDP snack credit. We also tried the Savannah Smoothie. (That’s the name as listed on the menu — we’re guessing it should be the “Savanna Smoothie.”) This beverage consists of coconut milk, agave, and Amarula Cream Liqueur and is topped with whipped cream. Savannah Smoothie This drink is very small for the price ($11.25), but it’s absolutely delicious and refreshing since Amarula is pretty much the bee’s knees. We loved the whipped cream and the strong coconut flavor. If you don’t enjoy coconut, you may not love this treat, but we certainly did! The Savannah Smoothie is NOT eligible as a DDP snack credit. Overall, we were pretty pleased to see Refreshment Outpost try some new things! Head over to the kiosk in Epcot’s World Showcase if you’d like to try any of these new unique eats. Which one of these new menu items are you most excited to try? Let us know in the comments! Woody, Bo Peep and the gang venture back into theatres today in Disney and Pixar’s “Toy Story 4,” an eagerly anticipated film that made a star-studded splash earlier this month here at Walt Disney World Resort, where the filmmakers and voice cast met the press in the shadows of Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. I was thrilled to sit down with stars Annie Potts (Bo Peep) and Tony Hale (Forky) during their visit, and we covered some meaningful ground, from the cultural impact of Bo Peep to the surprising depth of Forky. Check out highlights of those conversations here, and be sure to catch “Toy Story 4” in theatres now. View the full article

Splashing around at a Disney water park is great family fun with lazy rivers, family raft rides and surfing pools. If you are traveling with a preschooler make sure you check out the pint-sized water-play area created just for wee ones at Typhoon Lagoon. Ketchakiddie Creek welcomes kids, 48 inches (or less), to its playful fountains, sandy beach, waterfalls and not-to-scary water tubes and slides. (There are even life jackets available for extra peace of mind.) Ketchakiddie Creek is tucked-away in a secluded area within the tropical oasis, yet there is plenty of shade, comfy chairs and cold drinks so adults can relax and soak it all in. These little ones had a blast getting soaked at Typhoon Lagoon. Check it out! View the full article
