  1. Splashing around at a Disney water park is great family fun with lazy rivers, family raft rides and surfing pools. If you are traveling with a preschooler make sure you check out the pint-sized water-play area created just for wee ones at Typhoon Lagoon. Ketchakiddie Creek welcomes kids, 48 inches (or less), to its playful fountains, sandy beach, waterfalls and not-to-scary water tubes and slides. (There are even life jackets available for extra peace of mind.) Ketchakiddie Creek is tucked-away in a secluded area within the tropical oasis, yet there is plenty of shade, comfy chairs and cold drinks so adults can relax and soak it all in. These little ones had a blast getting soaked at Typhoon Lagoon. Check it out! View the full article
  2. The Disneyland Resort is filled with plenty of fun this summer. If you’re headed to Disney California Adventure park, here are 10 not-to-miss experiences: 1. Soarin’ Over California – Due to guest popularity, the epic, aerial adventure Soarin’ Over California has been extended through August 31! This virtual, immersive experience celebrates the beauty and wonder of the Golden State – from San Francisco’s iconic Golden Gate Bridge to the crashing waves in Malibu. Bonus: Annual Passholders can enjoy an extra hour at Soarin’ Over California after park closing every Thursday night, beginning June 27 through the end of July. Blockout dates apply. 2. “Tale of The Lion King” – The beloved characters and music of Disney’s “The Lion King” comes to life with an imaginative new adaptation. This outdoor musical production features a cast of 18 performers who weave this timeless tale through language, song and dance. The festive celebration of “Tale of The Lion King” will be presented for a limited time. 3. Fancy Nancy – Nancy Clancy, the high-spirited young girl from Disney Junior’s hit animated series “Fancy Nancy,” made “une grande entrée” this spring. Meet Fancy Nancy just outside the “Disney Junior Dance Party!” in Hollywood Land. 4. Pixar Pier – Celebrating its one-year anniversary at the end of June, Pixar Pier is a whimsical land where Pixar stories and characters are brought to life in incredible, playful ways. A few newly added experiences include: Jessie’s Critter Carousel, the giant toy carousel starring Jessie, the yodeling cowgirl and a friendly bunch of desert critters inspired by the “Toy Story” films. Hop on and yell “giddyup!” from the saddle of a whimsical snake, armadillo, turtle, bunny or other critters from the world of Woody’s Roundup. Bo Peep, from Disney and Pixar’s “Toy Story 4,” can be found making special appearances along Pixar Pier. Also, Forky, the adorable disposable spork from the new film, can be spotted near the entrance of the pier. Opening later this month, Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind is a newly reimagined attraction inspired by the film “Inside Out.” Step into the workplace of Riley’s Emotions – Joy, Sadness, Fear, Disgust and Anger – and board one of eight Memory Movers for a sense-ational spin. 5. Cars Land – If you’re looking for some free-wheeling fun with Disney and Pixar’s “Cars” crew, head to Radiator Springs, also known as “the cutest little town in Carburetor County.” Be sure to make a pit stop at Radiator Springs Racers, the high-octane adventure that revs through the beautiful mountains of Ornament Valley. 6. “Mickey’s PhilharMagic” – The spectacular magic of Disney animation comes to life in this 3D movie musical. Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and other favorite Disney characters now take the stage in this 3D fantasy adventure in the Sunset Showcase Theater in Hollywood Land. 7. Animation Academy – A guest favorite, Animation Academy hosts drawing classes every 30 minutes. Receive step-by-step instruction on how to illustrate some of your favorite Disney characters under the guidance of a Disney artist. All ages and experience levels are welcome! 8. Super Heroes – In Hollywood Land, encounter some of the most admired Super Heroes in the universe, including Captain Marvel, Spider-Man, Captain America and Black Panther. Suit up and head to Hollywood Land. Afterwards, hop aboard Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! and help rescue Rocket’s fellow Guardians all while jamming out to Star-Lord’s classic mixtapes. 9. “Frozen – Live at the Hyperion” – Stay cool indoors and enjoy a theatrical adaptation based on Disney’s animated blockbuster film, “Frozen.” Performed daily at the Hyperion Theater, the impressive stage show immerses you in the beloved world of Anna and Elsa, with all of the excitement of live theater. The elaborate costumes and sets, stunning special effects, and show-stopping production numbers are not to be missed. 10. “World of Color” – This breathtaking nighttime extravaganza tells Disney and Pixar stories vividly projected on a screen created by more than 1,200 fountains spraying 19,000 square feet of water. 5. Marketplace Snacks is a simple stand you may walk right by in Disney Springs, unless you know a secret… Marketplace Snacks … it’s actually one of the few places outside of the parks where you can get Dole Whip! But this under-the-radar spot just got a lot more noticeable with the arrival of the Toy Story 4 Souvenir Boot Cup for your pineapple (on its own, or swirled with vanilla) Dole Whip Float! Toy Story 4 Souvenir Boot Cup Our receipt rung up with the Boot Cup listed on its own for $8.00, while the Dole Whip Float is $5.99. So, altogether the total is $14.90 including tax. Toy Story 4 Souvenir Boot Cup The Boot is clearly a nod to Sheriff Woody (“There’s a snake in my boot!”), who you can now see on the big screen once again with the official release of Toy Story 4 in theaters! But there’s another nod you can only spot by picking up the boot… Toy Story 4 Souvenir Boot Cup … with Bonnie’s name lovingly written on the bottom. A few “good-to-knows”… you can order the Dole Whip Float in its own cup, as opposed to having it directly in the boot. Toy Story 4 Souvenir Boot Cup with Dole Whip Float in its own Cup And note that @DisneySprings on Twitter says “purchase limits may apply” as well as the ever-present caveat of “while supplies last.” So, hop to it, cowboys and girls! Would you like the pick up the Toy Story 4 Souvenir Boot Cup? Please let us know with a comment! Related posts: Where to Find Disney Dole Whip Without A Park Ticket! 6. Casey’s Corner in Disney World’s Magic Kingdom is beloved by many for its unique hotdogs, corn dog nuggets, and loaded fries, but today we got to witness something that makes us love Casey’s even more! Casey’s Corner We made it just in time to catch (pun entirely intended) Casey’s daily First Pitch! What’s that, you ask? Just read on… Every morning before Casey’s opens, two lucky children in the crowd are picked to throw a “first pitch” to officially open the restaurant. After throwing their baseballs, each child receives a brownie while the Cast Members lead the guests in a rousing rendition of “Take Me Out to the Ball Game”! Casey’s Corner First Pitch Casey’s Corner typically opens at 10:30 AM, so head over a bit early to watch the First Pitch. Hot Diggity Dog sign Don’t forget to try this month’s Jalapeno Popper Hot Diggity Dog (or enjoy the same toppings on Loaded Fries) while you’re there! Have you gotten to experience Casey’s Corner’s first pitch? Let us know in the comments! Related posts: Review: ALL! THE! CHEESE! at Casey’s Corner in the Magic Kingdom Review! 7. Yesterday was a great day for Eva Longoria! We caught up with Eva in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland park where she shared a heartwarming moment with her son Santiago, who was celebrating his first birthday at the Happiest Place on Earth. It was also his first time encountering Mickey Mouse – his reaction was beyond adorable! Following the special moment and continuing a day of firsts for the birthday boy, Eva shared that she was excited to introduce Santiago to “it’s a small world.” And, off they went on their Disney journey! 8. Having grown up with Woody, Buzz Lightyear and the gang, I’m so excited to see the toys back again on the big screen in “Toy Story 4,” opening in theaters today! Recently, Inside Disney Parks Host, Mark Daniel, sat down with director Josh Cooley and producer Jonas Rivera at Disney’s Hollywood Studios to get the inside scoop on the inspiration for the new film and their impressions of Toy Story Land. Take a look… If you see the film this weekend, let us know your thoughts in the comments below. View the full article
  9. JALAPENO. POPPER. LOADED. FRIES… are currently at Casey’s Corner in Magic Kingdom! Jalapeno Popper Loaded Fries But first, a bit of background… Things have been changing up a bit here and there at Casey’s. For instance, just last month they stopped selling foot-long hot dogs at this classic hot dog spot. (You can now find those at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café.) And, at the time the foot-long change was announced, we also learned that Casey’s had plans to discontinue the featured Hot Diggity Dog of the Month. But, lo and behold… Hot Doggity Dog sign While the foot-long hots dogs are still over in Tomorrowland, Casey’s is currently serving up a returning Hot Diggity Dog of the Month, with the Jalapeno Popper Hot Diggity Dog! A fun aspect of the Hot Diggity toppings is that you can opt to get them on a batch of Loaded Fries instead of a dog. Which is exactly what we did with the Jalapeno Popper Loaded Fries! Jalapeno Popper Loaded Fries In addition to pickled jalapeno poppers, the pile of fries is loaded up with cheddar sauce (plastic cheese!!), bacon, and a garlic ranch drizzle. Tucked inside the golden fried poppers are, of course, jalapenos (which actually aren’t as spicy as you might anticipate, so don’t let that deter you). AND even more cheddar cheese… Jalapeno Popper Loaded Fries The garlic ranch aids in cooling down the spice from the peppers, in addition to being totally tasty. (Oh, and did we mention BACON?! There you go.) All of the flavors combined, in fact, are terrific. Jalapeno Popper Loaded Fries In speaking with Cast Members, we learned that the Hot Diggity Dogs and Loaded Fries of the Month may not technically be on an exact monthly rotation like they were before (with a change on the 1st of each month). So, we’ll be back here… Casey’s Corner … in July to check things out and will keep you posted! You’ll find Casey’s Corner on Main Street U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom. Take a Food Tour of all there is to enjoy on Main Street in our DFB YouTube Video! Would you like to try Jalapeno Popper Loaded Fries? Please let us know with a comment! Related posts: Review! 13. We’re so excited to bring you the latest of What’s New at Wilderness Lodge! We love this rustic resort and we’re always glad to stop by for a visit. Disney’s Wilderness Lodge We’ll cover menu updates, an epic new treat, and new merchandise, so let’s get started! What’s New at Whispering Canyon Cafe Kicking off our afternoon at Whispering Canyon Cafe, we noticed a couple changes to the All-You-Care-to-Enjoy Skillet for Lunch. They’ve added more veggies, but removed the cornbread. Whispering Canyon Cafe Lunch Skillet You can still get the cornbread… but as an Appetizer for $9. Whispering Canyon Cafe Lunch Menu What’s New at Roaring Fork Looks like Flora (“Make it PINK!”) and Merryweather (“Make it BLUE!”) have been arguing over the donuts at Roaring Fork, where the Briar Rose Gold donut was missing from the bakery case and a pretty blue donut is in its place. Roaring Fork Bakery Case Roaring Fork Bakery Case The Worms & Dirt dessert was missing from the bakery as well, but we didn’t have time to be TOO disappointed, because we found the totally awesome CANDY CUPCAKE ($5.99)! This treat combines two of our favorite food groups — candy and cupcakes — so what could go wrong?? Candy Cupcake This cupcake has it ALL going on. The marble cupcake is decked out with buttercream frosting, Snickers, M&Ms, Hershey’s Minis, AND caramel drizzle. It is messy but in the best way possible. Candy Cupcake Read our full review of the Candy Cupcake here! What’s New at Geyser Point Bar & Grill Next, we headed to Geyser Point Bar & Grill, where we noticed the addition of limited-time Spring Libations. We don’t think these drinks are super new, but it was the first time we personally saw them on the beverage menu. Geyser Point Beverage Menu Moving onto the food menu, a new Steak Sandwich ($16) has replaced the Grilled Angus Strip Sirloin. The Cast Member we spoke with said the switch took place this past weekend and that the new sandwich is delicious! Geyser Point Menu The Grilled Chicken or Salmon Salad menu item has been removed. Now, you can simply add chicken or salmon to the Grilled Portobello Salad for $4 or $5, respectively. What’s New in Wilderness Lodge’s Shops and Stores — New Merch! We couldn’t end our tour without checking out the new merch, so we made our way to Wilderness Lodge Mercantile! We saw a nice array of the Imagination Pink and Magic Mirror Metallic collections and couldn’t resist snapping a quick photo. (It’s taking every ounce of self-control not to buy the Imagination Pink Loungefly.) Imagination Pink and Magic Mirror Metallic Also at Wilderness Lodge Mercantile, we found a returning Hot Cocoa Set. Even though it’s marked as a new arrival, we’ve definitely seen it before! If you’d prefer classic Chocolate Fudge Cocoa, you can buy that in a large container. Prices were not listed on either of these items, so ask a Cast Member if you’re interested! My friend, Ashley, gives me lessons but the waves don’t always obey – and neither does my surfboard! Solution? Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool. Perfect, 6-foot swells as far as the eye can see. I’ll be a surfer girl yet! Fellow surfer and artist, Brittany Ungvarsky, loves to splish splash in the Surf Pool too! 18. Today, yogis all around the world are practicing yoga in celebration of International Day of Yoga – and it’s no exception on our ships. I’m a firm believer that taking a cruise does not have to be a vacation from a healthy lifestyle, and the good news is that there are many fun ways to remain “ship shape.” Whether you’re onboard today wanting to honor Yoga Day with a tranquil practice, or simply looking to keep your fitness afloat during your next Disney cruise vacation, we’ve got you covered. Here are some of the ways you can maintain your workout routine on a Disney cruise… Breathe deep. Group yoga is offered in the fitness center throughout the cruise and on the adult-exclusive beach, Serenity Bay, when the ship stops at our private island, Castaway Cay. The peaceful ocean views will help you quickly unwind for a restorative and refreshing practice. Work up a sweat. The fitness center has state-of-the-art equipment for cardiovascular and weight training. You won’t get a view like this one from the treadmill back at home! Jog outdoors. Each Disney ship has a track for jogging and walking encircling Deck 4. The Disney Fantasy and Disney Dream tracks are .4 mile per lap – just eight laps equal a 5K. Play ball. Start a friendly game of hoops up on the sports deck. The basketball court can also be transformed into a mini soccer pitch or volleyball court. Join a class. In addition to yoga, the fitness center offers group classes such as Pilates and spinning. Make a new friend while staying in shape! Get personal. Want to take your fitness to the next level? One-on-one sessions with a personal trainer are available for a nominal fee. Run through paradise. The morning 5k run on Castaway Cay is the best way to see untouched parts of the island while increasing your heart rate for a healthy workout. How often do you get the chance to race on a private island?! Have fun. This one is easy on a Disney cruise! Burn calories and stay active in the pools onboard the ship or in the water on Castaway Cay. With water cycles, paddleboats, paddle boards, kayaks, sailboats and snorkels, the ocean is your playground. Namaste, and Happy Yoga Day! View the full article

  20. Ballast Point Brewery and Kitchen opened its doors in Disneyland’s Downtown Disney District just this past January. And Downtown Disney’s first onsite brewery has a SUPER lengthy list of beers. Ballast Point One of the house favorites, which is actually used in a lot of the restaurant’s dishes, is the Sculpin IPA. And this season, every Tuesday through Labor Day, Ballast Point Brewing Company is celebrating the “Summer of Sculpin” by allowing guests to “keep the pint” (valid on all purchases of Sculpin)! @BallastPoint To keep the party going, Ballast Point is also offering discounted Sculpin flights on options like Aloha Sculpin, Pineapple Sculpin, and Grapefruit Sculpin all summer long. And for my merch folks, you can also score discounts on tees, hats, and more when you mention #summerofsculpin. Interested in learning more about this new location? 21. The new Imagination Pink merchandise line debuted last week, complete with Minnie Mouse Ears, a spirit jersey, and more. And with it, we have seen a ton of new treats on both coasts like the Bubblegum-flavored Cake Pops and Imagination Pink Punch. Jolly Holiday Imagination Pink Treats Now, a few more pink options have made their way to Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe in Disneyland. And spoiler alert: they’re cute… but we aren’t 100% certain they’re worth the foodie photos. The two new options include an Imagination Pink Minnie Macaron and a new Imagination Pink Cupcake. The Imagination Pink Cupcake ($4.99) is a vanilla cake topped with raspberry cream frosting, chocolate pearls, and really cute Minnie ears. Imagination Pink Cupcake And the inside of the cupcake is filled with a raspberry filling. Imagination Pink Cupcake We weren’t fans of this one because most of the flavor came from the filling and the frosting didn’t taste like raspberry at all. To boot, the cupcake itself was super dry… Imagination Pink Cupcake The Imagination Pink Minnie Macaron ($5.99) is cherry flavored. Imagination Pink Minnie Macaron The inside of the macaron is filled with a cherry compote and buttercream. Imagination Pink Minnie Macaron With this one, it was the filling we didn’t care for. Not only did it have a strange taste, but it left a weird, grainy texture in our mouths. Imagination Pink Minnie Macaron Thanks for trying Disney, but we’ll pass on these, especially when Jolly Holiday has so many other wonderful options, like these you see listed below… Looking for more new Jolly Holiday treats? 22. We’ve kept up with the progress on Disneyland’s Pixar Pals parking structure for a while now, and we were thrilled to discover it will open much earlier than expected! Pixar Pals Parking Garage The 6,500 space garage will certainly be helpful for guests visiting Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. But, we are NOT so thrilled about the fact that it won’t open in time for the general public opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Pixar Pals Parking Garage According to The Orange County Register, the Pixar Pals garage WILL open by the end of this month, but the structure will NOT open in time to help facilitate the parking needs when Galaxy’s Edge opens to the general public next week. Pixar Pals Parking Garage This news makes us even more thankful for Disneyland’s new partnership with Lyft! That will certainly help with the massive Galaxy’s Edge crowds. We’re as ready as you are for the new garage to open, so stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more updates! Are you prepared for the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge? Let us know in the comments! 23. Avengers: Endgame has crushed box office numbers and broken records. But, these numbers weren’t enough to surpass the leading giant, Avatar. ©Marvel In an effort to snag the number one spot as the worldwide box-office champion, Marvel Studios is re-releasing the movie, but this time the film will look a bit different. That’s because Marvel is going to be including a never-before-seen deleted scene this time around. Marvel chief Kevin Feige made the announcement at a press junket for Spider-Man: Far From Home, where he also mentioned that there will be “a few new things at the end of the movie.” According to Box Office Mojo, Endgame has already made $2.744 billion, which leaves it about $44 million behind James Cameron’s Avatar. What’s interesting to us, is that Disney currently owns both of these films. So, it’s funny that there seems to be a bit of sibling rivalry. Disney currently has an Avatar-themed land known as Pandora — The World of Avatar in Disney World’s Animal Kingdom; and more Avatar films are in the process of being made, with the first sequel set to release in December 2021. Disney is also making strides inside the parks with a new Marvel Land, which is set to open at Disney California Adventure in 2020. 24. Award Wieners in Disney California Adventure is home to some of our favorite hot dogs on the planet. Award Wieners But, they also tend to get some really amazing seasonal offers, like their Lava Dog, Lava Fries, and Sorcerer Mickey Funnel Cake Fries. The Lava Fries ($8.49) are filmstrip fries topped with pulled pork, teriyaki sauce, and pineapple salsa. Lava Fries at Award Wieners These were SO delicious and tasted just like the Vietnamese Twice Cooked Beef Tacos from Carthay Circle! There is a bit of a kick to them, and the tangy sauce and pineapples made for a great flavor combo. SO GOOD. Lava Fries at Award Wieners If you’re looking for the same flavors with a different base, check out the seasonal Lava Dog ($9.79). This dog, which has made an Award Wieners appearance before, is an all-beef hot dog topped with pulled pork, teriyaki sauce, and pineapple salsa.
