The holidays are in full swing at Disney World, which means we are trying ALL of the festive treats! Holiday Macaron at Amorette’s Today we’re heading over to Amorette’s Patisserie in Disney Springs to check out the new Ornament Macaron that’s ringing its way into our holiday-lovin’ hearts! In the age of Instagram, some treats look better than they taste, but we are happy to say that is not the case with the Ornament Macaron! Ornament Macaron This show-stopping macaron on a stick sandwiches a delicious milk chocolate peppermint ganache! Ornament Macaron As you might have guessed, the filling of milk-chocolate peppermint ganache is the real show-stopper here. The rich filling has a perfect mix of chocolate and peppermint (aka the perfect holiday mix). Ornament Macaron We were delighted with this picture-perfect, festive treat, and think it will be a definite crowd-pleaser! You can try out this holly jolly treat for yourself, available for $5 at Amorette’s Patisserie in Disney Springs! Click here to read about ALL the holiday treats available at Disney World! Disney World is really pouring out some interesting seasonal cocktails this holiday season! Disney Springs Christmas Tree Trail First, there was the Frozen Eggnoggery and Claus-mo we sipped on Disney Springs’ Christmas Tree Trail. Now a new festive newcomer has joined in the holiday festivities at Disney World — and it has us shaking our heads in disbelief! But, yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus! And there’s ALSO this NEW Peppermint Margarita! It features peppermint syrup, lime juice, silver patron, Cointreau, and a splash of grenadine! And it even comes with a crushed peppermint candy-coated rim! Can’t you just feel the holiday magic emanating off of it?!? We certainly can! Peppermint Margarita But good looks aside, you’re probably wondering how this vision in red, white, and green (thanks to the lime wedge!) actually TASTES! Well, friends, let’s just say it’s very minty, but you can actually still taste the tequila — really! We were pleasantly surprised to find the peppermint flavor wasn’t overpowering like we were kinda expecting it would be. Peppermint Margarita Yeah, here’s the thing — we had our Peppermint Margarita doubts! We just weren’t sure if the peppermint flavor was going to play well with others, but we found it surprisingly refreshing! And for having so much candy action going on, it wasn’t too sweet like some of the other seasonal cocktails we’ve tasted — just don’t go overboard with licking the rim if you’re trying to keep an even keel! It’s definitely packing one seriously cloying punch — if you choose to go there! Peppermint Margarita And another lesson we learned during our brief time with the Peppermint Margarita — this thing is best enjoyed right away! We let ours sit for a while after it had been mixed and some separation started to occur which was a little weird! Peppermint Margarita So try the new Peppermint Margarita for yourself at Dockside Margaritas for $15 and let us know if you’re a Peppermint Margarita believer! Are you excited about trying the new Peppermint Margarita? Let us know if you’ll be ordering one in the comments section below! Since debuting at Disneyland and Disney’s Hollywood Studios this summer, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge has given guests a chance to live their very own Star Wars adventure. Mirroring the excitement for these immersive lands, the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA), today recognized Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge with two Thea Awards for Outstanding Achievement. The land itself was honored with a Thea Award for Outstanding Achievement – New Park Land. According to TEA, “this multifaceted experience combines epic and detailed placemaking, themed retail and dining, immersive theatrical techniques and interactive attractions into an audacious, genre-redefining, 14-acre adventure that lets park guests live their own Star Wars story in ways never before possible within the boundaries of a conventional theme park. The intricate layout, sophisticated use of scale, extension of character details and high quality of execution combine to make this an outstanding example of story-driven, experiential design blurring the line between guest and experience, making every detail ‘in-world’ authentic.” TEA also honored Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge with a Thea Award for Outstanding Achievement – Attraction. TEA cited the technology, innovative loading system, screen-accurate vehicle, ultra high-resolution game engine and interactive controls that combine to allow guests to take the controls of one of the most famous ships in the galaxy. “Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge has fast become one of the top rated lands at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort—and more than 5 million Guests have taken a spin on the Millennium Falcon,” said Bob Chapek, Chairman, Disney Parks, Experiences and Products. “Congratulations to the incredible Imagineers, Cast, and Lucasfilm partners on these well-deserved recognitions of their passion, creativity, and dedication.” Soon, guests will be able to take the force to a whole new level with the Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance attraction coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios on Dec. 5 and Disneyland on Jan. 17. Another significant honor went to Nancy Seruto, Walt Disney Imagineering creative executive for Shanghai Disney Resort, when TEA announced Nancy as this year’s Buzz Price Thea Award recipient. This prestigious award is presented each year to an outstanding individual whose accomplishments represent the highest standard of excellence in the themed entertainment industry. Nancy joins the ceremonious pour of water samples gathered from existing Pirates attractions around the world into the flume at Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle for the Sunken Treasure in Shanghai Disneyland.“Nancy is an inspiring and highly collaborative leader who excels at bringing together diverse talents and perspectives to create experiences that resonate with our global audiences,” said Bob Weis, president of Walt Disney Imagineering. “In addition to her incredible work creating story-driven, immersive experiences in our parks, she generously lends her time and expertise to support nonprofit organizations that touch lives around the world. She is widely respected throughout the themed entertainment industry, and this award is a wonderful tribute to her influence and inspiration.” Congratulations to Nancy and all the team members behind these well-deserved awards! When we heard Storybook Treats would be selling a Gingerbread Sundae during the Magic Kingdom‘s holiday celebration this year, we were standing by — spoons at the ready! Gingerbread Sundae And while this sweet holiday snack certainly didn’t disappoint, (heck, it EVEN made our must-have Disney World holiday treats list!), here at DFB, we’re always trying to improve upon perfection! It’s just in our foodie DNA! While we’re totally obsessed with the Gingerbread Sundae for $6.99 from Storybook Treats in its current, unmodified form, we were STRUCK by a bolt of holiday inspiration! What makes a gingerbread sundae even better?? Hmmm…how about MORE GINGERBREAD! (Duh, why didn’t this dawn on us sooner!) To replicate this food hack for yourself there’s some math involved, but you won’t need a calculator! It’s a very simple equation. You’re gonna need: 1 Gingerbread Sundae PLUS… Gingerbread Sundae …1 Mickey Gingerbread Cookie (We snagged this one for $3.99 from Main Street Confectionery on our way in, but they’re at Big Top Treats in Storybook Circus as well!)… Gingerbread Man Cookie …EQUALS The DFB-Hacked Gingerbread Sundae!!! Doesn’t it just look like it was meant to be?!! Our Gingerbread Man Cookie looks all nice and cozy nestled in with the gingerbread soft serve, whipped cream, and Minnie Mouse waffle topper. AND NOW there’s so much more gingerbread all up in the mix! Hey, the gingerbread crumbles the sundae comes with are great and all, but WE NEEDED MORE! Give us more GINGERBREAD!!!! Gingerbread Sundae Food Hack Doesn’t it just look like Gingerbread Mickey is chilling in a gingerbread soft-serve jacuzzi?! He’s all like “Hey, gurl, hey” to the Minnie Waffle Topper! We feel you guys — y’all both look delicious. Thanks for allowing us to interrupt your regularly-scheduled holiday eating with this gingerbread-hack PSA! And don’t forget to see our list of the best treats we’ve tried so far at Disney World this Christmas season! If you’re like me, you probably don’t need a new reason to take a Disney cruise (am I right?). But with nearly 30 cruises under my belt on the four Disney Cruise Line ships, it’s sometimes hard for me to pick where to go next – and more so, where to cruise from. With the Disney Magic taking its talents to South Beach towards the end of the month, I thought I would take some time to share five reasons why I personally like to sail from Miami – and why your family will too! Miami – need we say more? The vibrance and uniqueness of Miami warrants a visit to this city in and of itself! Whether you want to visit one of two national parks, shop on designer fashion or local boutiques, dine on the “Floribbean” cuisine or check out the famous beaches, there is no shortage of culture and things for your family to experience together before or after your cruise. Book a pre- or post- stay and treat yourself to a few extra days of vacation! Disney Magic One of the biggest reasons I like to sail out of Miami is the ship that resides in this port – the Disney Magic! I’m sure you know that this is the first ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet, but did you know that it is home to unique offerings such as the AquaDunk (I dare you to take the plunge!), an exclusive Broadway-style show, “Tangled: The Musical,” and one of my favorite themed dining spaces, Rapunzel’s Royal Table? If you haven’t been onboard in a while, it’s time to get reacquainted with this classic ship! Marvel Day at Sea Do you have any Marvel fans in your family? If so, Miami is the port for you! From January through March in 2020, the Disney Magic will sail exclusively out of this city on special Marvel Day at Sea sailings. During one special day at sea, the ship will be taken over by the Marvel universe. Picture it now: learn how to be like Captain America, meet Spider-Man, journey into the mystic arts with Doctor Strange and end your day with an action-packed entertainment stage show complete with fireworks fitting of – well, a super hero! Miami is easy to access from anywhere! Miami is one of the most popular ports in America, and it’s easy to see why! The “Magic City” is an easy drive from anywhere within the state of Florida, and with a bustling international airport, this is an ideal port city whether you reside in or outside the Sunshine State! Ports of Call Cruises from Miami sail anywhere from three-night voyages to the Bahamas to five-night sailings to the Western Caribbean – or if you’re up for an extra-long vacation, a 12-night transatlantic voyage will take you all the way to Barcelona! And best of all, every voyage to the Bahamas and Caribbean makes a stop at Castaway Cay, my favorite island paradise reserved just for Disney Cruise Line guests. Save me a seat on Serenity Bay, will you? Even though I don’t need a specific reason to cruise from Miami, I think these are five pretty good ones (and these are just the beginning)! Leave a comment below and let me know your favorite reason to sail from this city. I hope to see you on board a sailing soon! View the full article

It’s Rising Moons over Batuu as we are all eagerly awaiting the upcoming arrival of the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge BIG e-ticket attraction, Star Wars: Rise of The Resistance. Disney World’s Galaxy’s Edge at Night Expected to open on December 5th at Walt Disney World (and Disneyland on January 17th) we felt some serious hype at D23 this year when we were treated to the first real look at the attraction. And later when we got to actually GO INSIDE and experience it for ourselves! Disney has done a good job at keeping things hush-hush and publicly we’ve only been exposed to limited information and hearsay — like a rumor of the attraction potentially lasting 20+ minutes in length with 4+ ride systems. Entrance to Rise of the Resistance At a media preview in August, we were lucky enough to actually go INSIDE the attraction and learn additional details about the opening and conclusion of the ride. Rise of the Resistance Concept Art But even though we’re SO close to the attraction opening, we’re still left with some pretty big questions to answer. What will the requirements be to ride an attraction of this nature? The super immersive, trackless ride system we’ve been promised is a multi-part attraction requiring guests to embark, disembark, and then board another ride system. How will that affect boarding, and especially guests with disabilities? ©Disney Disney confirmed the ride will end with a final drop that sounds similar in nature to that of the iconic attraction Tower of Terror. Will Disney’s newest attraction feature similar ride restrictions to Tower of Terror? With that being said, will pregnant woman be able to experience the attraction? When will FastPass+ become available for the attraction? The land’s first attraction, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, arrived this past August, in tandem with Hollywood Studios changing over to a tiered FastPass+ system. Even with this change, it’s been months and we’re still waiting on the attraction to offer FastPass+. They did combat this issue by offering guests Extra Magic Hours in the wee hours of the early morning, but those are gone, and still no FastPass for Millennium Falcon. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disney World This leaves us very little information to use when predicting when FastPass+ will become available for Rise of The Resistance. Disney does provide this explanation on their site in regards to both attractions: “We will continually evaluate our operations and services in order to help provide a great Guest experience.” Will there be a single rider line? The land’s opening day attraction, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, does currently offer a single rider line, which leaves us curious if Rise of the Resistance will offer the same. Waits have been relatively low and reception seems lukewarm for Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run — this holds especially true when comparing it to other major Walt Disney World attraction openings in recent years like Avatar’s Flight of Passage and Toy Story Land’s Slinky Dog Dash, which continue to see very long wait times. But we could predict an increased interest in the land and general visitation because of the overall hype (300 animatronics are NO JOKE!) associated with this upcoming revolutionary attraction. This is in addition to the fact guests may be more likely to visit a land with two attractions, as opposed to currently just one. Rise of the Resistance Concept Art So no single rider line, no FastPass+, and a super looooong attraction could mean epically long and arduous waits for Rise of the Resistance, my friends. But what we DO know is… the anticipation is REAL for potentially Walt Disney World’s most innovative ride ever. We’ll keep you updated as more information is released leading up to the December 5th opening of Star Wars: Rise Of The Resistance. Until then, we’ll just be over here enjoying our Ronto Wrap! Happy Birthday to the big cheese himself, Mickey Mouse! To commemorate the occasion, we gathered a few of our favorite moments with Mickey this past year at Disney Parks: We kicked off this year celebrating 90 years of magic with the duo who started it all: Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse! The party continued at the Disneyland Resort with Get Your Ears On – A Mickey and Minnie Celebration! In January, we celebrated with the limited return of “Mickey’s Soundsational Parade.” “Mickey’s Mix Magic” – a new nightly extravaganza featured high-energy projections, lighting, lasers and music – also debuted at Disneyland park for a limited time. In May, Mickey and Minnie led the festivities honoring the past, present, and the new, exciting future of Disney’s Hollywood Studios. In August, Mickey and Minnie cheered at Disney Springs for the grand opening of the NBA Experience! This fall, the Halloween season was spook-tacular! Of course, Mickey and Minnie join us as we ring in the holiday season! Happy Birthday, Mickey! Leave your Happy Birthday wish to Mickey in the comments below. View the full article

These snacks have us devotin’ full time to floatin’! Journey of the Little Mermaid Can you believe The Little Mermaid movie is 30 years old? Neither can we!!! But it sure is. In fact, yesterday was Ariel’s “birthday” and we’re ready to celebrate! You can sit down for a Little Mermaid-inspired meal at Coral Reef Restaurant in Epcot for a more formal celebration OR swim over to Magic Kingdom for a ride on Journey of the Little Mermaid and try some limited-time undersea snacks. There are TWO special offerings at Prince Eric’s Village Market for the anniversary of The Little Mermaid. Both of these eats have some awesome themes that really make us think of Princess Ariel! Plus, get this, there’s a sweet option and a savory option! Dinglehopper Noodles Dream Big, Little Mermaid Look at how CUTE these are!!! Dinglehopper Noodles and Dream Big, Little Mermaid First off, there’s this clam-azing Dream Big, Little Mermaid dessert made with hibiscus-flavored cake, raspberry marmalade, lemon buttercream, and an edible chocolate pearl. This option is available for $5.99 or a Disney Dining Plan Snack Credit. Dream Big, Little Mermaid We can’t get over how cute this is. It looks just like a little clam you’d find on the ocean floor! The flavors in this dessert go together SO well. The cake itself is really lightly flavored with some floral notes and the lemon buttercream is a fab balance of sweet and tart. Our only complaint? It could use MORE of that raspberry jelly which really rounds out the flavors. Dream Big, Little Mermaid It’s a smaller portion so don’t feel too shellfish if you keep it all to yourself. Too much? Okay, okay, we’ll clam up. This is a good option if you’re not a chocolate person and looking for a lighter option. Dream Big, Little Mermaid If you tend to prefer a more savory snack, look no further than the Dinglehopper Noodles! This dish is a pretty spot-on (if a little more noodle-y) representation of Ariel’s hair, complete with Dinglehopper. Dinglehopper Noodles This dish is available for $6.49 or as a Disney Dining Plan Snack Credit and features fresh pasta salad with herb vinaigrette, radishes, chives, and an edible flower. Look at this stuff! Isn’t it neat? Dinglehopper Noodles We REALLY liked this. The noodles are covered in olive oil and chive and they definitely hit the spot as a more light and refreshing snack. If you’ve got a small stomach, this could even function as a light meal to tide you over before a big or late dinner! So when you beeline for Prince Eric’s to grab that Mermaid Donut, maybe take a glance at one of these guys instead (or get all three if you’re REALLY hungry). Disneyland has been BRINGING IT this year when it comes to adding tons of new restaurants to Mobile Order! Mobile Order Now we can add another restaurant to the list, with Sonoma Terrace at Disney California Adventure now available for Mobile Order! Sonoma Terrace offers some seriously delicious Californian eats and drinks! It’s our favorite place to stop for a selection of California wine and craft brews (which pair perfectly with their baked brie or Bavarian pretzel – YUM!). Sonoma Terrace Mobile Order ©Disney For those who may not know, Mobile Order is a feature within the Disneyland app that allows guests to purchase food at select locations from their phones. This will often allow people to skip long lines that sometimes come with a Quick-Service location, letting them set up a pickup time for whenever is convenient for them. So basically you can order while in line at Radiator Springs Racers, and have a Sparkling Wine waiting for you at Sonoma Terrace once you’re off the ride. How cool is that?!
