We may be past the time of jack o’ lanterns, but pumpkins are still going strong for the autumn season! Animal Kingdom Lodge Stopping by the Mara in Animal Kingdom Lodge always means taking a peek into the bakery case to see if there are any tasty new treats for us to try. We’ve seen adorable cupcakes and memorable seasonal offerings in the past and today we found a super cute new fall snack! Check out the Mickey’s Pumpkin Patch; bet you want to know what we thought!!! Mickey’s Pumpkin Patch is a mousse-based desert with a unique mixture of flavors! It’s a dark chocolate ganache tart topped with a pumpkin mousse, pistachio crumble, and buttercream decorations. Mickey’s Pumpkin Patch Mara The whole thing looks like a big ol’ growing pumpkin with the buttercream making up the leaves and stem and it is SO cute! As for what we thought, this thing is really good. Honestly, we could probably snack on a whole bowl of that pumpkin mousse. We found the chocolate tart to be really rich and thought it sorta overpowered the pumpkin when taking a bite of them together, so we preferred to eat them separately. Mickey’s Pumpkin Patch Mara The pistachio is super subtle too, so if you’re not a pistachio person don’t let that deter you because the pumpkin and the chocolate are definitely the main events! Mickey’s Pumpkin Patch Mara Overall, this treat is supah tasty and we’d definitely get it again. Try it for yourself before this seasonal offering disappears for $5.49 at the Mara. We don’t know how long it’ll be around, but we don’t think it’ll stick around for too much longer! If you love pumpkin, don’t miss it! Looking for MORE pumpkin treats in Disney World? You’ll find a whole bunch of ’em here! What do you think of this cute little pumpkin treat? Let us know in the comments! Sanaa is one of the most popular restaurants at the Walt Disney World Resort, known for its incredible bread service, African-inspired cuisine and, of course, its incredible views of the lush Sunset Savannah. It is here that you can sit back and enjoy a delectable meal while taking in the spectacular views of African wildlife right outside the windows of the restaurant. With animals including gazelle, zebras, kudu, giraffes, ostriches, cranes, and more, they’re sure to make your meal a memorable experience. The restaurant currently offers wonderful table-service dining for both lunch and dinner, but did you know that Sanaa now features a delicious breakfast menu? Recently, our talented chefs at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge created the Sanaa Kuamsha Breakfast – served from 7:00am to 10:00am – for those guests looking for an early-morning meal. Highlighting a variety of different flavors inspired by authentic African cuisine, this new dining experience transforms Sanaa into a casual quick-service restaurant featuring grab-and-go options as well as a few familiar dishes with a unique twist that you can only find at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. When you approach the counter, you’ll be greeted with a variety of grab-and-go items including yogurt parfaits, fruit plates, banana bread with house-made African chocolate-hazelnut spread, and more. And if you’re looking for a heartier, sit-down dining experience, you can browse a full menu of entrees which can be ordered at the counter and brought directly to your table! On the entrée menu, you’ll find several familiar dishes complemented with unique African flavors. These dishes include Eggs Benedict (with two brown poached eggs, farmer’s ham, spice route hollandaise, arugula, and berries), Shahi Tukra French Toast (with saffron-scented sultan raisins, whipped chai cream, and almonds), and the Methi Paratha Wrap, which features scrambled eggs, potatoes masala, gouda, chermoula, and papaya achar. And for a plant-based option, you can try the Enriching Grains and Fruit dish with mixed grains, seasonal fruit, South African rusk, and coconut milk yogurt. The Boere Breakfast is another incredible plate with two cage-free eggs, African home fries, house-made boerewors sausage, bacon, and a coconut drop biscuit. For the kids, they can enjoy the Kid’s Explorer Platter with one cage-free egg served any style, African home fries, bacon, and a coconut drop biscuit. Or they can chow down on some classic Mickey waffles and bacon! Sanaa is located in Kidani Village at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge and is open daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The Sanaa Kuamsha Breakfast is offered 7-10am and reservations are not required. If you’re dining for the lunch or dinner period, reservations are highly encouraged. The holiday season is in full swing at Disneyland! Trader Sam’s While we’ve loved seeing all the way that Disneyland has decked the halls, we think we might have found our new favorite place when it comes to holiday decorations on the West Coast… Today we hit up Trader Sam’s at the Disneyland Hotel to check out their new holiday decor and, folks, we were NOT disappointed! Trader Sam has decorated this Enchanted Tiki Bar with the most AMAZING kitschy decor that has gotten us in the tropical holiday spirit! Trader Sam’s You get a Santa hat, you get a Santa hat – everybody gets a Santa hat!!! No head is left un-topped when it comes to celebrating the holiday season! Trader Sam’s It’s the most wonderful time for a beer, or a fun cocktail, or delicious app! You can enjoy them all while you take in this amazing poinsettia display at the bar! Trader Sam’s Trader Sam is getting a head start on the holiday game with this very, errr, special family tree wreath! Notice the tiny little stockings hung with care! Trader Sam’s Minimalism is NOT a thing over at Trader Sam’s, so there’s no space left undecorated (though it never feels Claus-trophobic). The green and red Santa banner is just another example of some festive cheer in our favorite tiki bar! Trader Sam’s Because it’s the holidays, you need to add some poinsettias to the mix, because why not? It’s the time of year to spruce things up, and these are looking pine (tree puns are in, right?). Trader Sam’s We’d never pass on a chance to visit Trader Sam’s, but the holiday decor definitely presents a good excuse to visit again (or ten times) during the next few months! Our Thoughts We think that this is a worthwhile resort if you are traveling with a large group of people. The hotel offers a good number of options for big families and has a large number of useful appliances in the rooms. They’re spacious and offer options for storage and privacy, especially in the rooms that have more than one sink or bathroom. One-Bedroom Villa Now, unless you’re looking to splurge, this resort will prove to be a bit pricey for those traveling in smaller parties. And while the Tower Room is an interesting new concept, it looks like it’ll cost over $300 for one night. One-Bedroom Villa Restroom But, if you are looking to spend some extra dollars, this new resort is going to be new and STUNNING. There will be lots of exciting new amenities and dining locations to explore. The rooms are light, airy, and up to date, and the attention to detail that Disney put into this resort is breathtaking! The gingerbread displays keep rollin’ in! Boardwalk Entrance And on a trip through Disney’s BoardWalk Inn’s lobby this morning, we saw this deluxe Disney World’s resort’s gingerbread display was comin’ along nicely! Although the display wasn’t finished yet, to us, it totally looked good enough to eat! And while the 2019 Disney’s Boardwalk Inn made out gingerbread, chocolate and candies closely resembles displays from previous years, its festive details and gorgeous confectionery artistry are really putting us in the holiday spirit! BoardWalk Inn Gingerbread Display The BoardWalk Inn’s gingerbread display is everything we love about this Disney World resort. The structure is replicated by pastry chefs who really know a thing or two about gingerbread and the BoardWalk! BoardWalk Inn Gingerbread Display Perhaps one of our favorite buildings is the BoardWalk Bakery, which has a little window where you can peek inside! BoardWalk Inn Gingerbread Display This year it looks like Mickey and Minnie Mouse are manning the shop! We don’t see any of our favorite Boardwalk Bakery breakfast sandwiches (Ooey Gooey for the win!), but we do see plenty of sweet tasty-looking treats and other goodies! BoardWalk Inn Gingerbread Display Outside of the bakery, a sweet Christmas tree is adorned with little fondant decorations of bakery supplies including measuring spoons, recipe cards, and cutting boards — too cute! BoardWalk Inn Gingerbread Display Further down the boardwalk, we spotted the superfly Flying Fish! BoardWalk Inn Gingerbread Display It also had a Christmas tree out front featuring nautical elements like starfish, shells, and little blue fish candies — but remember, “fish are friends, not food!” BoardWalk Inn Gingerbread Display The ESPN Club is going to PUMP YOU UP if you’re not already excited about the Christmas season! BoardWalk Inn Gingerbread Display Meanwhile, their tree is decorated with baseballs and basketballs, topped with an ESPN Club pennant! BoardWalk Inn Gingerbread Display And while Trattoria al Forno is known for its Italian cuisine and Bon Voyage Character breakfast, things have taken a turn for the sweet now that the restaurant has been remodeled out of gingerbread! BoardWalk Inn Gingerbread Display We love spotting all the little details of this year’s gingerbread BoardWalk Inn! Check out this little Popcorn cart! We can almost smell the kernels popping! BoardWalk Inn Gingerbread Display And how charming is this little hotdog stand? We’d love to see the size of the tiny hotdogs it’s servin’! BoardWalk Inn Gingerbread Display We’d also love to hang this miniature wreath on our front door for the holidays! BoardWalk Inn Gingerbread Display And as you probably already know, Disney’s BoardWalk Inn is a magical place to tie the knot! Check out the romantic pergola complete with a wedding cake! BoardWalk Inn Gingerbread Display There’s also the gazebo — just like the one you’ll find overlooking Cresent Lake — and is that Cinderella’s carriage we spy? It sure is! BoardWalk Inn Gingerbread Display While the Disney’s BoardWalk Inn gingerbread display is still undergoing construction, Cast Members informed us there will be treats soon! In the meantime, you can check out the Grand Floridian’s Gingerbread House, Contemporary Resort’s Gingerbread Castle, Wilderness Lodge’s Gingerbread Cabin, and Beach Club’s Gingerbread Carousel! Cookies and cream and a classic holiday flavor? That sounds pepper-MINT TO BE! Trilo Bites There’s a lot of peppermint treats in Disney World this year! We’re still dreaming about that Peppermint Bubble Waffle in Disney Springs and the Peppermint Ice Cream Sandwich in Animal Kingdom. And y’all there’s ANOTHER peppermint treat chillin’ in Animal Kingdom. Join us at Trilo-Bites in Dinoland U. S. A. to give their new Peppermint Cookies and Cream Milkshake a try! We love peppermint, and who doesn’t love cookies and cream?? So we were pretty psyched to get our hands on this new treat. What we found was that this is pretty much the Oreo Milkshake that replaced one of our all-time fav boozy Smokey Bones shake a few months back. All Disney did was add a few crushed peppermint pieces and a mini candy cane to the top. Trilo Bites Peppermint Cookies and Cream Milkshake Overall, this shake was tasty but it’s still a little underwhelming. The peppermint flavor is SUPER understated, in fact, we think all of the peppermint may have been in the topping. We would’ve liked to see a little more peppermint in the shake itself too! But maybe mixing it up a bit with your straw would help that out some?! Try that out and let us know your thoughts. Trilo Bites Peppermint Cookies and Cream Milkshake If you’re a cookies and cream-lover, go for it! But if you’re looking for something a little more pepperminty you’ve gotta try the Peppermint Ice Cream Sandwich, the Peppermint Bark Churro, or the Peppermint Soft-Serve. If you do want to get your sip on with the Peppermint Cookies and Cream milkshake, swing by Trilo-Bites in Animal Kingdom and you can grab one for $5.49. Click here to see our FAVE holiday treats at Disney World this year! Will you be grabbing a Peppermint Cookies and Cream shake? Tell us in the comments! Related posts: Where’d You Go, Smokey Bones? You might’ve noticed but the holidays are HERE in Disneyland!! California Adventure Christmas Tree And with them they’ve brought a bunch of new holiday treats like a Santa Hamm Apple or the showstopping Peppermint Mickey Shake. Still, even with the huge variety of treats rollin’ in, there’s a classic that has a special place in our hearts — the churro! Well, we’re in luck because there’s a TON of holiday churros appearing around Disneyland Resort for the Christmas season. Here’s a FULL LIST of all the holiday varieties ranked! 1. Pecan Pie Churro Now THIS holiday churro is WILD. For the Festival of Holidays in California Adventure, Willie’s Churros is cooking up a Pecan Pie Churro! You read that right!! This thing may be messy but man is it delicious. We loved blend of sweet and salty flavors. For $6.25 nab this classic churro smothered in maple glaze, toasted pecans, and chocolate drizzle. De-lish! Definitely our fave churro of the season! Pecan Pie Churro Want to know more about what we thought about the Pecan Pie Churro? Click here! 2. Horchata Churro There’s just something so good about Horchata and as soon as you put it in churro form, we come running! That’s why we were so excited to find the Horchata Churro at Goofy’s Sky School Churro Cart in Disney California Adventure. This churro costs $6.25 and is made with cinnamon and nutmeg sugar and a condensed milk dipping sauce. Horchata Churro Click here to read all about the Horchata churro! 3. Milk and Cookies Churro If you’ve got similar taste to Santa Claus, you’ll probably want to keep an eye out for the Milk and Cookies Churro! This holiday specialty can be found at the Churro Cart near the Hollywood Lounge for $6.25. The churro is rolled in chocolate chip cookie and cookies and cream sugar with a yummy cookies and cream dipping sauce. This one might be simple but it is so so SO good! With the classic Christmas inspiration, it definitely makes our top three! Milk and Cookies Churro Read our review of the Milk and Cookies Churro here! 4. Sugar Cookie Churro Maybe the most festive and instagrammable churro on this list is the Sugar Cookie Churro!! It’s just a classic churro covered in icing and holiday sprinkles just like those famous holiday sugar cookies. This one can be found at Cozy Cone Motel in California Adventure for $5.79. Even though it is a classic churro base, this one is still tasty and pretty enough to impress! Sugar Cookie Churro Read more about the Sugar Cookie Churro here! 5. Turtle Churro Coming in at number five, we spotted the Turtle Churro over at the Frontierland Churro Cart in Disneyland and boy, is this thing tasty! A churro dusted with dark chocolate sugar, drizzled with condensed milk, and served with caramel pecan dipping sauce?? YES PLEASE! Give the Turtle Churro a taste for $6.25. Turtle Churro Want to see our FULL REVIEW of the Turtle Churro? Click here! 6. Peppermint Churro Is there a flavor that is more Christmas-y than peppermint? We don’t think so, which is why there’s a lot of pressure on the Peppermint Churro. Maybe grab a bib or even a rain poncho because this one takes the cake for MESSIEST holiday churro! Smothered in crushed peppermint, chocolate sauce, and vanilla icing; you have to eat this treat FAST if you want to stay clean, making a little bit challenging to eat. Still, it’s delicious and you can have one yourself for $6.25 at the Redwood Creek Trail Churro Cart! Peppermint Churro Click here for our FULL REVIEW of the Peppermint Churro! 7. Toffee Churro Over in Tomorrowland at the Tomorrowland Churro Cart, we caught wind of another holiday churro — the Toffee Churro. This guy is $5.75 and you can add chocolate or chocolate almond dipping sauce for $1.00. This one was high demand with a line at the cart every time we passed. The subtle toffee sugar makes for a tasty treat so we can see why the people are lovin’ it but it is VERY subtle, so more of the bang comes from the dipping sauce which is why it’s lower on our list. Toffee Churro Want to read our FULL REVIEW of the Toffee Churro? Click here! 8. Caramel and Coconut Churro Then, there’s the Caramel and Coconut Churro! This one can be found at the Sleeping Beauty Churro Cart for $5.75 with an option to add caramel coconut dip for $1.00. The churro itself is pretty close to a classic churro and that dip is way more caramel-y than it is coconut-y, but this is the perfect option for someone who loves a sticky caramel treat! We wish this churro had more flavor from the coconut flakes so that’s why it comes in pretty low on our holiday churro ranking. Caramel and Coconut Churro For everything you need to know about the Caramel and Coconut Churro, click here! 8. Sugar Plum Churro And last up is the Sugar Plum Churro. Yes, it’s pretty but our treat tasted sorta synthetic and fake. You never know though, maybe we just had a super sugary batch! You can find it for $5.25 at the New Orleans Churro Cart in Disneyland. Even though this is very sweet and didn’t blow us away in terms of flavor, it still might be a great option for the little ones looking for a colorful and sweet treat. Sugar Plum Churro Click here to read last year’s review of the Sugar Plum Churro! And there you have it! Allllllll the tasty holiday churros in Disneyland for the holiday season so far! Shortly after Hurricane Dorian brought devastation to the Northern Bahamas, I shared with you that The Walt Disney Company, led by Disney Cruise Line, committed more than $1 million in cash and in-kind support to help hurricane relief and recovery efforts, including donations to non-profit relief agencies. Today, I’m here to share more details with you about how our $1 million contribution is benefiting the people of The Bahamas. Disney has teamed up with three leading non-profit disaster relief and recovery organizations: the American Red Cross, the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF), and All Hands and Hearts. The American Red Cross continues to provide critical aid to those recovering in The Bahamas. Disney has provided $250,000 to support the organization’s on-the-ground relief efforts, including the delivery of food staples and basic construction materials. Disney has also encouraged its employees to contribute financially to the American Red Cross to help further support these immediate needs. Eligible employees’ donations were matched through the Disney Employee Matching Gifts program, dollar for dollar. Hurricane Dorian forced thousands of residents to evacuate the island, and we’ve since heard from many of them that one of their biggest priorities is for their children to return to school. Disney Cruise Line has a long history of supporting education efforts throughout The Bahamas and we recognize how important schooling is for children. With this in mind, Disney gave $250,000 in support of UNICEF’s efforts to help provide lifesaving supplies and psychosocial support for children and adolescents affected by Hurricane Dorian. In partnership with The Bahamas Ministry of Education, UNICEF is working to register approximately 10,000 displaced students in schools. Registered students will receive medical screenings, uniform and lunch assistance, referrals for counseling services and free bus transportation for social, sporting and extra-curricular activities. Additionally, as the community looks to the future, Disney provided $500,000 to All Hands and Hearts to support the rebuilding of community schools in Abaco, home to many of our Bahamian-based Disney Cruise Line crew members. All Hands and Hearts is a volunteer-powered disaster relief organization that addresses the immediate and long-term needs of communities impacted by natural disasters. Over the last few months, Disney Cruise Line cast and crew members have worked diligently to provide immediate short-term relief to those impacted. Disney Cruise Line cast members assembled more than 1,500 Clean the World personal hygiene kits. Clean the World is a global health organization committed to providing sustainable resources, programming and education focused on water, sanitation and hygiene for those impacted by natural disasters, poverty and homelessness. The Disney Dream, one of our ships, delivered these kits to Nassau where they were distributed to shelters for hurricane evacuees from Abaco and Grand Bahama. Disney also donated food, water, medical supplies, cleaning supplies, generators and construction materials, which the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy delivered to points in Nassau and the Abaco Islands and others have helped deliver to Grand Bahama to assist those most affected by the hurricane. Additionally, Disney Cruise Line is supporting its Bahamian-based crew members who live in impacted areas. So far, Disney has provided an additional $500,000 in supplies and direct aid to affected employees. We know the road to recovery is long, but we hope our collective efforts will help the people of The Bahamas – our friends, neighbors and co-workers – to put their lives and communities back together little-by-little. Together, we’re #BahamasStrong! View the full article

The Disney animated series “Gargoyles” aired from 1994-1997, that showcased the adventures of nocturnal beings that turn into gargoyles during the day – and watched over New York City by night. According to artist Ashley Taylor, if Goliath, one of the main characters in the series, was able to visit a Walt Disney World theme park, he’d likely head to Beast Castle, to join the team of protective gargoyle figures there. “The Beast’s castle once had beautiful stone gargoyles protecting it,” Ashley said. “I imagine Goliath would enjoy spending time there while he watches over New Fantasyland.” View the full article

We made a special trek through the jungle of Animal Kingdom today to see if the Pumpkin Pretzel we’d reported to you earlier about had returned. In case you’d forgotten, here’s what it looked like the first time we got it: Pumpkin Spice Pretzel Yeeeeeesh! This was one knee-jerkingly rough-looking Disney snack! Quite the departure from the Mickey Celebration Donut or all of the highly photogenic Arendelle Aqua treats that have been released at Disney World as of late! But hey, even pretzels have bad days! So when we saw that the pretzel was BACK, we made it our mission this afternoon to see if we could capture a better image of the elusive Pumpkin Pretzel in the wild. If you remember from earlier, we’d tried to order a third Pumpkin Pretzel on our first safari, but it had mysteriously disappeared! Pumpkin Pretzel The Pumpkin Pretzel’s natural habitat is Thirsty River Bar and Trek Snacks, and the sign was actually there today indicating the sweet treat had returned to its snacky lair. And here’s the photographic evidence of our third attempt at capturing the Pumpkin Pretzel’s good side — this time he looks like he’s got a sad little face! Pumpkin Pretzel We feel so bad for the Cast Members who have to make these guys, because honestly, it’s impossible to make it look good! They literally have to dump these things in a sea of icing… We see you guys trying and we appreciate you SO much! Maybe the Pumpkin Pretzel just wasn’t meant to be, but even though this seasonal treat is hard on the eyes, it actually tastes delicious! Pumpkin Pretzel It’s got a great pumpkin spice filling and ours was prepared fresh when we ordered it! The sweetness from the orange icing is quite tasty, too! Pumpkin Pretzel See if you can spot the Pumpkin Pretzel at Thirsty River Bar and Trek Snacks on your next trip to Animal Kingdom. Better yet, buy one for $6.79 and see what you think of it for yourself — just maybe leave it off your Insta account, though! Have you tried the ugly pretzel at Animal Kingdom yet?
