  1. You might’ve noticed but the holidays are HERE in Disneyland!! California Adventure Christmas Tree And with them they’ve brought a bunch of new holiday treats like a Santa Hamm Apple or the showstopping Peppermint Mickey Shake. Still, even with the huge variety of treats rollin’ in, there’s a classic that has a special place in our hearts — the churro! Well, we’re in luck because there’s a TON of holiday churros appearing around Disneyland Resort for the Christmas season. Here’s a FULL LIST of all the holiday varieties ranked! 1. Pecan Pie Churro Now THIS holiday churro is WILD. For the Festival of Holidays in California Adventure, Willie’s Churros is cooking up a Pecan Pie Churro! You read that right!! This thing may be messy but man is it delicious. We loved blend of sweet and salty flavors. For $6.25 nab this classic churro smothered in maple glaze, toasted pecans, and chocolate drizzle. De-lish! Definitely our fave churro of the season! Pecan Pie Churro Want to know more about what we thought about the Pecan Pie Churro? Click here! 2. Horchata Churro There’s just something so good about Horchata and as soon as you put it in churro form, we come running! That’s why we were so excited to find the Horchata Churro at Goofy’s Sky School Churro Cart in Disney California Adventure. This churro costs $6.25 and is made with cinnamon and nutmeg sugar and a condensed milk dipping sauce. Horchata Churro Click here to read all about the Horchata churro! 3. Milk and Cookies Churro If you’ve got similar taste to Santa Claus, you’ll probably want to keep an eye out for the Milk and Cookies Churro! This holiday specialty can be found at the Churro Cart near the Hollywood Lounge for $6.25. The churro is rolled in chocolate chip cookie and cookies and cream sugar with a yummy cookies and cream dipping sauce. This one might be simple but it is so so SO good! With the classic Christmas inspiration, it definitely makes our top three! Milk and Cookies Churro Read our review of the Milk and Cookies Churro here! 4. Sugar Cookie Churro Maybe the most festive and instagrammable churro on this list is the Sugar Cookie Churro!! It’s just a classic churro covered in icing and holiday sprinkles just like those famous holiday sugar cookies. This one can be found at Cozy Cone Motel in California Adventure for $5.79. Even though it is a classic churro base, this one is still tasty and pretty enough to impress! Sugar Cookie Churro Read more about the Sugar Cookie Churro here! 5. Turtle Churro Coming in at number five, we spotted the Turtle Churro over at the Frontierland Churro Cart in Disneyland and boy, is this thing tasty! A churro dusted with dark chocolate sugar, drizzled with condensed milk, and served with caramel pecan dipping sauce?? YES PLEASE! Give the Turtle Churro a taste for $6.25. Turtle Churro Want to see our FULL REVIEW of the Turtle Churro? Click here! 6. Peppermint Churro Is there a flavor that is more Christmas-y than peppermint? We don’t think so, which is why there’s a lot of pressure on the Peppermint Churro. Maybe grab a bib or even a rain poncho because this one takes the cake for MESSIEST holiday churro! Smothered in crushed peppermint, chocolate sauce, and vanilla icing; you have to eat this treat FAST if you want to stay clean, making a little bit challenging to eat. Still, it’s delicious and you can have one yourself for $6.25 at the Redwood Creek Trail Churro Cart! Peppermint Churro Click here for our FULL REVIEW of the Peppermint Churro! 7. Toffee Churro Over in Tomorrowland at the Tomorrowland Churro Cart, we caught wind of another holiday churro — the Toffee Churro. This guy is $5.75 and you can add chocolate or chocolate almond dipping sauce for $1.00. This one was high demand with a line at the cart every time we passed. The subtle toffee sugar makes for a tasty treat so we can see why the people are lovin’ it but it is VERY subtle, so more of the bang comes from the dipping sauce which is why it’s lower on our list. Toffee Churro Want to read our FULL REVIEW of the Toffee Churro? Click here! 8. Caramel and Coconut Churro Then, there’s the Caramel and Coconut Churro! This one can be found at the Sleeping Beauty Churro Cart for $5.75 with an option to add caramel coconut dip for $1.00. The churro itself is pretty close to a classic churro and that dip is way more caramel-y than it is coconut-y, but this is the perfect option for someone who loves a sticky caramel treat! We wish this churro had more flavor from the coconut flakes so that’s why it comes in pretty low on our holiday churro ranking. Caramel and Coconut Churro For everything you need to know about the Caramel and Coconut Churro, click here! 8. Sugar Plum Churro And last up is the Sugar Plum Churro. Yes, it’s pretty but our treat tasted sorta synthetic and fake. You never know though, maybe we just had a super sugary batch! You can find it for $5.25 at the New Orleans Churro Cart in Disneyland. Even though this is very sweet and didn’t blow us away in terms of flavor, it still might be a great option for the little ones looking for a colorful and sweet treat. Sugar Plum Churro Click here to read last year’s review of the Sugar Plum Churro! And there you have it! Allllllll the tasty holiday churros in Disneyland for the holiday season so far! 2. Shortly after Hurricane Dorian brought devastation to the Northern Bahamas, I shared with you that The Walt Disney Company, led by Disney Cruise Line, committed more than $1 million in cash and in-kind support to help hurricane relief and recovery efforts, including donations to non-profit relief agencies. Today, I’m here to share more details with you about how our $1 million contribution is benefiting the people of The Bahamas. Disney has teamed up with three leading non-profit disaster relief and recovery organizations: the American Red Cross, the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF), and All Hands and Hearts. The American Red Cross continues to provide critical aid to those recovering in The Bahamas. Disney has provided $250,000 to support the organization’s on-the-ground relief efforts, including the delivery of food staples and basic construction materials. Disney has also encouraged its employees to contribute financially to the American Red Cross to help further support these immediate needs. Eligible employees’ donations were matched through the Disney Employee Matching Gifts program, dollar for dollar. Hurricane Dorian forced thousands of residents to evacuate the island, and we’ve since heard from many of them that one of their biggest priorities is for their children to return to school. Disney Cruise Line has a long history of supporting education efforts throughout The Bahamas and we recognize how important schooling is for children. With this in mind, Disney gave $250,000 in support of UNICEF’s efforts to help provide lifesaving supplies and psychosocial support for children and adolescents affected by Hurricane Dorian. In partnership with The Bahamas Ministry of Education, UNICEF is working to register approximately 10,000 displaced students in schools. Registered students will receive medical screenings, uniform and lunch assistance, referrals for counseling services and free bus transportation for social, sporting and extra-curricular activities. Additionally, as the community looks to the future, Disney provided $500,000 to All Hands and Hearts to support the rebuilding of community schools in Abaco, home to many of our Bahamian-based Disney Cruise Line crew members. All Hands and Hearts is a volunteer-powered disaster relief organization that addresses the immediate and long-term needs of communities impacted by natural disasters. Over the last few months, Disney Cruise Line cast and crew members have worked diligently to provide immediate short-term relief to those impacted. Disney Cruise Line cast members assembled more than 1,500 Clean the World personal hygiene kits. Clean the World is a global health organization committed to providing sustainable resources, programming and education focused on water, sanitation and hygiene for those impacted by natural disasters, poverty and homelessness. The Disney Dream, one of our ships, delivered these kits to Nassau where they were distributed to shelters for hurricane evacuees from Abaco and Grand Bahama. Disney also donated food, water, medical supplies, cleaning supplies, generators and construction materials, which the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy delivered to points in Nassau and the Abaco Islands and others have helped deliver to Grand Bahama to assist those most affected by the hurricane. Additionally, Disney Cruise Line is supporting its Bahamian-based crew members who live in impacted areas. So far, Disney has provided an additional $500,000 in supplies and direct aid to affected employees. We know the road to recovery is long, but we hope our collective efforts will help the people of The Bahamas – our friends, neighbors and co-workers – to put their lives and communities back together little-by-little. Together, we’re #BahamasStrong! View the full article

  5. The Disney animated series “Gargoyles” aired from 1994-1997, that showcased the adventures of nocturnal beings that turn into gargoyles during the day – and watched over New York City by night. According to artist Ashley Taylor, if Goliath, one of the main characters in the series, was able to visit a Walt Disney World theme park, he’d likely head to Beast Castle, to join the team of protective gargoyle figures there. “The Beast’s castle once had beautiful stone gargoyles protecting it,” Ashley said. “I imagine Goliath would enjoy spending time there while he watches over New Fantasyland.” View the full article

  9. We made a special trek through the jungle of Animal Kingdom today to see if the Pumpkin Pretzel we’d reported to you earlier about had returned. In case you’d forgotten, here’s what it looked like the first time we got it: Pumpkin Spice Pretzel Yeeeeeesh! This was one knee-jerkingly rough-looking Disney snack! Quite the departure from the Mickey Celebration Donut or all of the highly photogenic Arendelle Aqua treats that have been released at Disney World as of late! But hey, even pretzels have bad days! So when we saw that the pretzel was BACK, we made it our mission this afternoon to see if we could capture a better image of the elusive Pumpkin Pretzel in the wild. If you remember from earlier, we’d tried to order a third Pumpkin Pretzel on our first safari, but it had mysteriously disappeared! Pumpkin Pretzel The Pumpkin Pretzel’s natural habitat is Thirsty River Bar and Trek Snacks, and the sign was actually there today indicating the sweet treat had returned to its snacky lair. And here’s the photographic evidence of our third attempt at capturing the Pumpkin Pretzel’s good side — this time he looks like he’s got a sad little face! Pumpkin Pretzel We feel so bad for the Cast Members who have to make these guys, because honestly, it’s impossible to make it look good! They literally have to dump these things in a sea of icing… We see you guys trying and we appreciate you SO much! Maybe the Pumpkin Pretzel just wasn’t meant to be, but even though this seasonal treat is hard on the eyes, it actually tastes delicious! Pumpkin Pretzel It’s got a great pumpkin spice filling and ours was prepared fresh when we ordered it! The sweetness from the orange icing is quite tasty, too! Pumpkin Pretzel See if you can spot the Pumpkin Pretzel at Thirsty River Bar and Trek Snacks on your next trip to Animal Kingdom. Better yet, buy one for $6.79 and see what you think of it for yourself — just maybe leave it off your Insta account, though! Have you tried the ugly pretzel at Animal Kingdom yet? 10. We love finding eats and drinks that help us unwind on a busy day in the park! Decor at Dawa Bar in Africa That’s why we love stopping by Dawa Bar in Animal Kingdom! Dawa Bar is a super relaxing spot that has awesome cocktails and awesome bartenders to pour them. We just spotted a new specialty cocktail for Thanksgiving there called the Cape Gobbler and now we’re back to try out a new offering! When looking around the park for all the new goodies to share in our next What’s New in Animal Kingdom, we noticed a new snack at Dawa Bar and just had to check it out. African Spiced Nuts are now available for $5.99, friends! African Spiced Nuts These nuts may not say it, but they definitely have a holiday flair. We tasted a lot of cinnamon and nutmeg in the nut blend and they’ve got a good kick of spice to them too. These are really a great choice for pairing with one of those tasty Dawa Bar cocktails. Harambe Iced Tea African Spiced Nuts Of course, we couldn’t have the new nuts without a mixed drink to wash them down! So, we grabbed the Harambe Iced Tea. We’ve seen this drink before as a limited time Specialty Cocktail but it was so popular that it got moved to the regular menu. Harambe Iced Tea The Harambe Iced Tea is made with Don Q Rum, Snow Leopard Vodka, New Amsterdam Gin, Vanderheum Orange Liqueur, orange juice, and Sprite. The combo makes for a really pretty beverage with just the right amount of sweetness to balance the alcoholic kick. Harambe Iced Tea Grab the Harambe Iced Tea for $14.00 at Dawa Bar. Paired with the African Spiced Nuts, it’s the perfect way to sit back, relax, and enjoy the season! Click here to see what else is new in Animal Kingdom this week! An Orange Bird Christmas This treat is citrus-y, light, and DELICIOUS! The balance of the simple white chocolate mousse and almond cream cake with the orange curd and candied orange peel makes our tastebuds sing like Orange Bird himself!! We only can hope they’ll bring this treat back after the holidays. Y’know, just without the Santa hat! An Orange Bird Christmas Flap your wings on over to our full review of the Orange Bird Christmas treat! Peppermint Bubble Waffle Did someone say bubble waffle?? AristoCrepes in Disney Springs is the home of the airy and crunchy bubble waffle and now it has created the Peppermint Bubble Waffle for Christmas! The classic bubble waffle is topped with lots of mint chocolate chip ice cream, chocolate drizzle, whipped cream, and peppermint bark. Peppermint Bubble Waffle What we love most about this dessert is the fact that there is an equal amount of softness and crunch! The peppermint flavor from the mint ice cream and peppermint bark go beautifully together, and the bubble waffle adds a tasty finish to each bite. This treat is big enough to share, so you don’t have to worry about being a lil too stuffed while you hit up the Christmas Tree Trail in Disney Springs! Peppermint Bubble Waffle See our FULL Peppermint Bubble Waffle review here! Cinnamon-Apple Lunch Box Tart While lunch box tarts aren’t really anything new at Woody’s Lunch Box, the Cinnamon-Apple Lunch Box Tart is a holiday treat you don’t want to miss out on! Cinnamon-Apple Lunch Box Tart The flaky crust is so buttery that it basically melts in your mouth. And, that cinnamon-apple filling?? It’s the PERFECT combination of sweet and spice (and everything nice!). If you’re wanting to try something different from all the gingerbread and peppermint, head over to Toy Story Land for this bb! Inside the Lunch Box Tart Check out our full Cinnamon-Apple Lunch Box Tart review here! Chocolate Chestnut Pinecone So, while we’ve been awe-struck by all the Christmas decorations in the parks right now, you can actually EAT one of them too! Jk, jk, but the Chocolate Chestnut Pinecone sure looks like something right off one of our Christmas trees at Backlot Express in Hollywood Studios. Chocolate Chestnut Pinecone The “pinecone” is made with chocolate mousse and sits a praline “leaf.” The chocolate mousse is rich, soft, and incredible. We could eat a whole jar of this alone by the fireplace with a spoon (sounds like a great evening to us!). The praline is crunchy and nutty, which adds a lovely twist to the flavor of the treat. And, there’s even a lil surprise of chocolate cake in the praline (yaaaas!). Chocolate Chestnut Pinecone cross-section Fall in love with the Chocolate Chesnut Pinecone with our full review! Gaston’s Cheese Dipper “My, what a guy, that Gaston!” And, Gaston’s Tavern is housing the tastiest beer-cheese dip with smoked bacon bits and breadstick antlers. But, while he uses antlers in all of his decorating, this snack is a Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party exclusive. Gaston’s Cheese Dipper Seriously, we could go on and on about our favorite cheesy snacks in the parks, and Gaston’s Cheese Dipper has definitely made the list. It’s so good that we would eat it every day if we could!! Plus, it’s super shareable, so you can gather the townsfolk (or just your family and friends) to snack on it. Just don’t eat four dozen eggs immediately afterward. (; Gaston’s Cheese Dipper See why the Gaston’s Cheese Dipper hit the spot here! Holiday Turkey Burger Another non-dessert holiday item on this list? Wait, what?? Yeah, the Holiday Turkey Burger is so good at D-Luxe Burger that it had to make its way onto our top ten! The turkey patty is topped with fried butternut squash risotto, mozzarella pearls, bacon-cranberry jam, lettuce, tomato, and served on a parker house roll. Holiday Turkey Burger Okay, we were sold the second we realized the fried squash had cheese INSIDE of it! (Ugh, how can D-Luxe be so good at everything?!) The bacon-cranberry jam has a hint of tartness compared to the juicy turkey burger patty. We really might eat this for our Christmas dinner, you guys! Holiday Turkey Burger See what else we tried…and loved at D-Luxe along with our full Holiday Turkey Burger review here! Giant Cake Pop This yuletide treat is brand-spankin’ new to Disney World’s holiday snack scene, but it definitely made quite an impression on us! We’re calling it a Giant Cake Pop because it’s round and cakey, but it takes the cake for being the LARGEST cake pop we’ve ever seen! Giant Cake Pop We found the Giant Cake Pop at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa’s Gingerbread House snack shop this morning during its ribbon-cutting ceremony this morning. This tasty treat consists of a tennis ball-sized serving of rich, moist chocolate cake (we’re NOT exaggerating — that’s how BIG this thing is!) It’s so delightfully fudgy and delicious, that we’ll be dreaming about it for a long time, and heading back to the Grand Floridan before the end of the holiday season to grab it again! Giant Cake Pop See our full GIANT Cake Pop review here! After looking at all those treats, we might have to do a dessert crawl in Disney World! ‘Tis the holiday season, you know. 19. For nearly 50 years, the Tri-Circle-D Ranch at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground has been an essential part of the magic and legacy at Walt Disney World Resort. The ranch is home to “The Happiest Horses on Earth,” who receive the very best care from a team of ranch hands, veterinarians, blacksmiths and nutritionists. Many hooves make up this happy family, including a variety of breeds, such as Quarter Horse, Percheron, Paint, Gypsy Vanner, Clydesdale, Belgian, Appaloosa, Arabian and Shetland ponies. By spring 2020, Tri-Circle-D Ranch will be transformed with a beautiful new barn and pasture area. The Cast have put much thought and care into preserving the heritage of the ranch, packing up items to take with them to the new facility. Everyone is eager to have an updated and even larger space to care for the horses, just steps away from the old barn. As the sun sets on this chapter of Tri-Circle-D Ranch, we look forward to its bright future and many memories to come. The Cast at Fort Wilderness, and even a couple of our ponies, recently signed a beam that will go into the new barn. Looking for an opportunity to see “The Happiest Horses on Earth” on your next visit to Walt Disney World Resort? Check out the pony and horseback trail ride opportunities, or look into a carriage or sleigh ride. You can also spot them in Magic Kingdom Park for some parades and the Main Street Trolley show. 20. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa celebrated its annual Gingerbread House display in its lobby this morning’s during its grand opening ceremony! Grand Floridian Gingerbread House And while our eyes feasted on the stunning masterpiece crafted by Disney’s super-talented pastry chefs, we couldn’t wait to see what goodies would be available at the snack shop — nestled INSIDE the Gingerbread House! While we couldn’t get over the vast selection of this year’s snack shop, here’s one fella we just had to meet (and subsequently eat, of course!) Allow us to introduce you to the new Snowman Donut at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort! Snowman Donut This sweet holiday treat is a glazed chocolate chip pumpkin-flavored donut with piped buttercream for his nose and chocolate chips for his eyes and mouth! Snowman Donut Our friend Frosty was seriously PACKING some major chocolate chip action! “There must have been some magic in that old tophat he found” because this donut was super moist and DELICIOUS! It was a lot thicker and breadier than a traditional yeast donut, but tasted SO GOOD. We’re giving it FIVE SNOWFLAKES! 24. CELEBRATION, Fla. (Nov. 13, 2019) – As part of its commitment of more than $1 million in cash and in-kind support to help Hurricane Dorian relief and recovery efforts in The Bahamas, Disney announced it has teamed up with three leading disaster relief and recovery organizations – the American Red Cross, the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) and All Hands and Hearts. “We know the road to recovery is long and difficult for many people in The Bahamas, and we remain committed to helping them put their lives back together,” said Jeff Vahle, president of Disney Cruise Line. “From providing food and supplies, to supporting children and rebuilding schools, the collective efforts of these agencies should bring much-needed relief to our friends and neighbors in the islands.” The American Red Cross continues to provide critical aid to those recovering in The Bahamas. Hurricane Dorian forced thousands of residents to evacuate the island. One of the biggest priorities has been for children to return to school. Disney Cruise Line has a long history of supporting education efforts throughout The Bahamas and recognizes how important schooling is for children. Disney gave $250,000 in support of UNICEF’s efforts to help provide lifesaving supplies and psychosocial support for affected children and adolescents. The Disney Dream delivered these kits to Nassau where they were distributed to shelters for hurricane evacuees from Abaco and Grand Bahama. Disney also donated food, water, medical supplies, cleaning supplies, generators and construction materials, which the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy delivered to points in Nassau and the Abaco Islands – as well as supplies that others have helped deliver to Grand Bahama. Additionally, Disney Cruise Line is supporting its Bahamian-based Crew Members who live in impacted areas. So far, Disney has provided an additional $500,000 in supplies and direct aid to affected employees. Additionally, as the community focuses on the long term plans for rebuilding, Disney has provided $500,000 to All Hands and Hearts to support the rebuilding of community schools in Abaco, home to many Bahamian-based Disney Cruise Line Crew Members. All Hands and Hearts is a volunteer-powered disaster relief organization that addresses the immediate and long-term needs of communities impacted by natural disasters.
