  1. We’re kicking off the week on the Disney Parks Blog with a look at what the Ugly Duckling from the 1939 Silly Symphony “The Ugly Duckling” short may do if he had the chance to visit a Disney Park. According to artist Ashley Taylor, the Ugly Duckling, who is taken in by a loving family of swans by the end of the short, just may take to the water at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, for a special holiday celebration all their own. “The nighttime shows at Disney are a great way to spend quality time with friends and family,” Ashley said. “It’s easy to imagine The Ugly Duckling and his mom enjoying their time in Echo Lake during ‘Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!’ at Disney’s Hollywood Studios!” View the full article

  4. Today, we celebrate Veterans Day, a day to honor and respect veterans and active military duty. In 1918, the 11th day of the 11th month at the 11th hour marked the end of World War I. Join us as we commemorate the 101st anniversary of the original Armistice Day, which became known as Veterans Day in 1954. Thank you to our veterans – our nation is forever grateful for your service. In honor of this special day, Bob Chapek, Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products visited Disneyland Resort to participate in the daily flag retreat ceremony. He was joined by Veteran cast members to commemorate the important occasion. “We are proud to support America’s veterans and military families, both by celebrating service and providing opportunities for those transitioning to civilian life,” said Bob Chapek. “From hiring and career development programs, to creating magical memories for active duty and veteran families during their visits to our Parks, we honor America’s heroes each and every day.” Check out the video below! As we acknowledge all active military duty and veterans today, let’s take a closer look at some of our own heroes who work here at Disney! Our strong connection to the armed services continues today, as our company was founded by two brothers who served their country in uniform during World War I. Stay tuned to the Disney Parks Blog for additional stories being told throughout the month, and follow the conversation with #HeroesWorkHere! View the full article
  5. The massive Epcot transformation is officially underway and that means we’re finding some changes to the World Showcase. World Showcase Lagoon Soon you can expect to see an overhaul to the United Kingdom Pavilion in Epcot and a new Ratatouille-inspired ride in the France Pavilion, but there are some cool changes in other pavilions that have already arrived. One example of that is the new Race Against the Sun exhibit in the Morocco Pavilion! Earlier this week, Disney announced that the Gallery of Arts and History in the Morocco Pavilion reopened with an all-new exhibit! This gallery is one of the many places on the World Showcase where guests can learn about other cultures and the new exhibit, Race Against the Sun: Ancient Technique to Modern Competition is an awesome way they can do so! Morocco Pavilion The exhibit is centered around two Moroccan competitions, Marathon des Sables (Marathon of the Sands) and Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles du Maroc (Rally of the Gazelles). You can also learn about the culture of the Saharan Berbers! Race Against the Sun Exhibit ©Disney The Marathon of the Sands is a six-day ultramarathon that is right around the length of six regular marathons! Whew! AND the Marathon takes place through the Sahara Desert. And we thought the runDisney Walt Disney World Marathon sounded hard! Race Against the Sun Exhibit ©Disney The Rally of the Gazelles is an all-woman off-road race through the Sahara. Both of these events sound crazy extreme and the exhibit is a super cool and immersive way to see how they came about through years of tradition. Race Against the Sun Exhibit ©Disney Plus, to go along with the opening of the gallery, there’s a new treat at Tangierine Cafe. Sellou is an almond and sesame seed-based snack that participants eat during their races to stay energized. Looks pretty tasty to us and it’ll probably help with that mid-park day schlump! Sellou ©Disney We aren’t too sure how long this new exhibit will be sticking around, so head over to the Morocco Pavilion and see what there is to learn! To check out all the other interesting things coming to Epcot, click here! Do you think these events sound intense? Will you be stopping by the exhibit? Share your thoughts in the comments! 8. Christmastime is EVERYWHERE in Disney World! Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is in Magic Kingdom, the Merry Menagerie puppets are snuggling up with guests in Animal Kingdom, and ALL the treats are being baked up in Hollywood Studios! With all the stuff to do in the parks, it’s important to stay hydrated! That’s why the NEW holiday merch item at the Disney resorts is a great park-hopping tool (let’s win Disney World!!). The “Happy Holidays” Refillable Mug is merry and bright at the Contempo Cafe in Disney’s Contemporary Resort! Refillable Mug Sign Sticking with the theme from the “Happy Holidays” Popcorn Bucket we spotted in Magic Kingdom, the mug features the new Mickey and friends cartoon style and a red handle and lid. “Happy Holidays” Refillable Mug It’s lovely weather for a slide together with Mickey leading the way! Minnie and Goofy look all bundled up in their winter finest, while Pluto is adorably dressed as a reindeer. Giddy Up, Giddy Up, Giddy Up, Let’s Go!! You can refill the “Happy Holidays” Mug with fountain drinks, coffee, and tea throughout your stay at the resorts. Annnd, when you get home, you can pour some eggnog or hot chocolate in there to get in the holiday spirit! “Happy Holidays” Refillable Mug You can get your own “Happy Holidays” Refillable Mug for $19.99 or as your included refillable mug on the Disney Dining Plan. 9. It’s the happiest season of all, and that means we’re celebrating with all the Christmas goodies in Disneyland and Disney California Adventure! 2017 Grand Californian Gingerbread House And, even though there are plenty eats and treats popping up in both parks (lookin’ at you, Festival of Holidays!), you can still get into the holiday spirit without even leaving your Disney resort! (Hot chocolate by the fireplace? Yes, please!!) The Holiday Cart is BACK (and still just as delicious) at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel! Holiday Cart While we gave you a little sneak peek at what would be coming to the Holiday Cart this year, we are SO excited to see a lot of new treats for Christmas! The Peppermint Bark, Apple Caramel Pound Cake, and Chanukah Cookie (coming December 20th) are delicious additions to the line-up. Holiday Cart Treat Menu Although we usually see cookies and crispy rice treats for Christmastime, this year’s Holiday Cart is baking up the Mickey Gingerbread Man… Mickey Gingerbread Man …Mickey Reindeer Cookie, Mickey Santa Cookie… Mickey Reindeer and Santa Cookies …Mickey Poinsettia Cookie… Mickey Poinsettia Cookie …and Gingerbread House Rice Krispie Treat! And, you can even spot Chip and Dale chilling out front of the gingerbread house in the design (hey, guys!!). Gingerbread House Rice Krispie Treat Also back again this year, the Holiday Cookie Box is the perfect gift for your friends and families! Holiday Cookie Box We are LOVING the adorable designs on these with festive sprinkles, mistletoe, and even an adorable way to say “Season’s Greetings!” Holiday Cookie Box Treats The Grand Californian is known for their INCREDIBLE cookie shots during the holidays. While we’ve only recently seen the Halloween version, the same Christmas Cookie Shot that we saw last year has made its return! Christmas Cookie Shot You can get milk and chocolate milk in the treat to make your favorite cookies and milk duo. And, for the grown-ups, you can have a spiked cookie shot with RumChata, Baileys Irish Cream, Peppermint Schnapps, the new Captain Morgan Spiced Rum, and Grand Marnier! Whatever drink you choose, the Cookie Shots are so good, you might want more than one! The Process of the Christmas Cookie Shots! The treats at the Holiday Cart look wonderfully festive and tasty this year!! We can’t wait to try them all as we listen to the pianist play our favorite Christmas tunes! 10. Lift your voices loud and clear and join in on the Christmas cheer in Disney California Adventure! Christmas at California Adventure While we’ve seen lots of festive treats, like the Pecan Pie Churro, Peppermint Soft-Serve, and Cranberry-Orange Lemonade already, now we’re sipping on a classic drink in the park! The Holiday Egg Nog and Elf Nog are shakin’ things up at the Hollywood Lounge! Hollywood Lounge Holiday Menu The Elf Nog is practically just a cup of good ole’ egg nog served over ice, made with plenty of milk and cream (just like we like it!). Elf Nog After one sip, we couldn’t help but feel like it’s officially the Christmas season! The Elf Nog tastes just like Christmas in a cup with lots of yummy nutmeg flavor mixed in. However, it is a little on the thicker side, so it resembles more of a watered-down milkshake (not that we’re complaining). Elf Nog The Holiday Egg Nog is the spiked version of Elf Nog with the addition of some spiced rum. Honestly, we feel like you can’t go wrong with spiced rum and Christmas drinks, right?? Holiday Egg Nog The spiced rum goes beautifully with the egg nog, balancing both sweet and spicy flavors in the drink. The addition of the alcohol actually makes the consistency of the nog less thick, which makes for smoother sipping. While you can drink this on its own, it would taste AH-MAZING with a Mickey Gingerbread Man Cookie from around the park! Elf Nog and Holiday Egg Nog You can get the Elf Nog for $4.99 and the Holiday Egg Nog for $12.25 throughout the holiday season! Maybe you can even share one with your mistletoe buddy! 11. It’s officially Christmas at Disneyland Park! Disneyland Holiday Decorations We’ve been eating and drinking our way around Disneyland to check out all of their new seasonal offerings for the 2019 holiday seasons! After chowing down on the Toffee Churro and the Santa’s Milk and Cookies Churro, we had our eyes on the churro cart near Sleeping Beauty’s Castle for their special holiday treat. With the holidays comes NEW seasonal Churros! At the Sleeping Beauty Churro cart, we found a new Caramel and Coconut Churro. This is priced at $5.75 with the Caramel Coconut Dip setting you back an extra $1.00. Caramel and Coconut Churro When we dip, I dip, we dip! This churro was very fresh but also very much a classic Disneyland churro (not necessarily a bad thing if you’re craving a classic churro). We luuurve the idea of caramel and coconut, but surprisingly, the dip just tasted like standard caramel sauce. We wanted to go nuts for coconuts! The couple flakes of coconut in the sauce were nice but lost in the sticky-sweet sauce. We would have loved to taste more of a coconutty punch from this. Caramel and Coconut Churro The thick caramel dip was obviously very flavorful (and plentiful!). It was much thicker in texture than previous churro dip options throughout the seasons. This caramel sauce was pretty fantastic, even if we didn’t get much coconut flavor from it. Caramel and Coconut Churro If you want a sticky caramelly churro, this will hit the spot nicely! Before you power through to Fantasyland, make a pitstop at the churro cart in front the Castle for this sweet treat. Try it yourself or one of the other seasonal churros offered at Disneyland! 12. All Aboard! The Holidays are here at Disneyland and with it comes new seasonal churros and treats! Disneyland Holiday Decorations Next stop: Fantasyland! We’re working our way around Disneyland and California Adventure tasting the Toffee Churro, Sugar Cookie Churro, and (our fav so far!) the Pecan Pie Churro. Now, we’re headed to try a new holiday offering from the Churro Cart at Casey Jr. in Storybook Circus. The big man in the red suit got a major upgrade this year! The Churro Cart at Casey Jr. is serving up the Santa’s Cookies and Milk Churro! Santa’s Cookie and Milk Churro Priced at $6.25, the churro INCLUDES the sweet milk dipping sauce covered in red and green sprinkles. We were pleasantly surprised by the taste of the churro alone as it tasted just like cookie butter! The sweet milk dipping sauce was light and tasted exactly like it sounds — creamy, sweetened milk! It also wasn’t fairly thick, which was actually not a bad thing for this churro. Santa’s Cookies and Milk Churro If you’re going to reinvent a classic like Milk and Cookies, you better do it RIGHT (and they did!). This seasonal snack is totally worth a trek out to that side of Disneyland Park! There’s also a similar incarnation of this churro (but more on the cookies and cream side of things!) over at Hollywood Land in Disney California Adventure. Read about that HERE! 13. As a kid, we all remember that childhood tradition where you’d leave out cookies and milk for Santa. And, the next morning, they’d mysteriously be gone! California Adventure Christmas Tree Buuut, now that we’re all grown up, we’re the ones eating all the Christmas treats in Disneyland! While we’ve spotted the Man-Eating Christmas Wreath Rice Krispie and seasonal Cranberry-Orange Slush for the holidays, now we’re heading over to Disney California Adventure to try a churro that will have you grabbing for a glass of milk! The Milk & Cookies Churro is being served up for guests of all ages to enjoy at the Churro Cart by Hollywood Lounge! Churro Cart The churro is rolled in chocolate chip cookie and cookies and cream flavored sugar and paired with a cookies and cream dipping sauce! Milk & Cookies Churro Basically, this churro is just a cookies and cream churro that we’ve seen previously around the parks! The sugar on top leans more towards a mixture of cinnamon and Oreos, as we didn’t taste any hint of chocolate chip cookies. The dipping sauce seems to be a combo of sweetened condensed milk, chocolate chunks, and cookies pieces (which is very yummy!). Although the flavors are simple, the Milk & Cookies Churro is still a tasty treat and different from the standard Disneyland churros! Milk & Cookies Churro If you’re going to spend $6.25 on a churro, though, we recommend getting the Pecan Pie Churro instead! Or just get both!! (; Hungry for more? 14. As fall turns to winter at Disneyland, we’ve seen Halloween step aside and make way for yuletide (along with all the Christmas decorations and sweet treats that come with it, of course!) River Belle Terrace Dining Room And we’ve also noticed a new seasonal offering (along with a few new menu items!) at one of our favorite places to dine at Disneyland — the River Belle Terrace! Naturally, we had to direct our team of oxen over to this Frontierland eatery to taste the new grub they’re cookin’ up! Here’s the new River Belle Terrace menu we were given at the restaurant! As you can see, there’s now a Burnt Ends Grilled Cheese Sandwich that we’re dying to try! Online, the sandwich is listed as a “seasonal offering”, although on the River Belle Terrace’s physical menu it simply appears as a “signature sandwich”, so we’re not sure if it’s sticking around for a while or not — either way, we’re not taking any chances! River Belle Terrace Holiday Menu We also ordered the rest of the NEW dishes off the menu including the Beef Short Ribs and the Apple Cobbler because…food. We also snatched up the Catch of the Day because why not?! Hey, we’re good eaters here at DFB and enjoy our entrees with a side of…another entree — or two more entrees! We even got a little treat for dessert which will save for the end! River Belle Terrace Holiday Menu Items The Burnt Ends Grilled Cheese costs $23, which might sound like a lot for a sandwich, but it was AMAZING. The Kansas City-style brisket burnt ends were nice and tender, lightly tossed in a sweet barbecue Coca Cola sauce! Burnt Ends Grilled Cheese But what perhaps surprised us the most was the bits of chopped up pickle and pepperoncini relish that really stood out amongst all that melty cheese goodness! They tasted like the exact same spicy pickles that they sell throughout Disneyland, so if you’re a fan of those bad boys, we think you’re gonna love the Burnt Ends Grilled Cheese! Burnt Ends Grilled Cheese It’s a rich, meaty sandwich too, so bring your hearty, pioneering appetite! It comes served with River Belle Terrace’s Signature Baked Beans and your choice of side — we went with Seasoned Tater Bites because you can’t go wrong with all that meat, and potatoes, AND CHEESE! Burnt Ends Grilled Cheese And while River Belle Terrace has offered Pork Spare Ribs in the past (and still does –don’t worry!) we also ordered up the new Beef Short Ribs for $29. The entree features fresh cut of beef cooked slowly and coated with a yummy herbaceous rub! The house-made sauce really ties the whole thing together and the mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables it comes with are super yummy too! Beef Short Ribs We also sampled the Catch of the Day for $26 (a favorite River Belle Terrace dish of ours!) It’s a generous portion of sustainable fish which is topped with a tangy remoulade sauce and fresh greens. It’s also served with seasonal vegetables which this time featured some roasted fingerling potatoes! Catch of the Day After all our feasting, we were sure to save some room for dessert! Check out this mouthwatering Apple Cobbler, served up hot and fresh right from the skillet! The cold, creamy ice cream was nice and melty over the warm cinnamony baked pieces of apple with bits of sweet, tasty streusel bits scattered about! Apple Cobbler The Apple Cobbler was absolutely delicious — just the perfect sweet and texturally satisfying dessert to cap off our wonderful savory meal at River Belle Terrace! Apple Cobbler So next time your heading through Disneyland’s Frontierland, circle your wagons at River Belle Terrace to try their new menu offerings for yourself! 15. “Paging Mr. Morrow, Mr. Tom Morrow.” It’s time for you to check out a NEW seasonal churro in Disneyland’s Tomorrowland! Christmas Garland in Tomorrowland There’s a flurry of new seasonal treats in Disneyland, and on our foodie tour of Tomorrow land we’ve tried the eats at Galactic Grill, everything Alien Pizza Planet has to offer, and now we’re taking a look at a brand new churro option! You’ll find the new Toffee Churro at the Tomorrowland Churro Cart. Priced at $5.75, it comes with the option to add on Chocolate or Chocolate Almond Dip for $1.00. Toffee Churro We’re happy to report, the HYPE is REAL with this one! Just like the famous Churro Toffee where it’s all the awesome flavors of a churro hiding in the crunchy crispety texture of toffee, this treat is the buttery toffee borrowing the CHURRO’S texture! We did taste the toffee in the churro, but this was a little subtle. When it comes to toffee or churro anything, you need to go BIG on the flavor! Despite the subtle toffee flavor, it was actually still very good on its own! Toffee Churro We opted to add on the Chocolate Dip with Almonds. It was actually a lot like chocolate pudding! It also wasn’t very strong, but it was just enough to add a chocolate kick to the toffee Churro. The crunchy almonds were a nice texture add as well. It basically turns the Toffee Churro into an Almond Roca churro, which is SO not a bad thing!! Toffee Churro with Chocolate Dip We would DEFINITELY get this again! Also, try to get to this cart early…the line for this churro was loooong every time we passed by it! Check Out All The 2019 Holiday Offerings At Disneyland! 16. Christmastime treats have been baking up all over Disney California Adventure! Tasting Passport for Festival of Holidays And, along with the gingerbread, hot chocolate, and eggnog around the parks, holiday churros are making a sweet appearance for guests of all ages to try. Although we’ve already seen the Peppermint Churro and the Sugar Cookie Churro, we’re back for another round! Get ready to crunch and munch on the Pecan Pie Churro at Willie’s Churros for the Festival of Holidays! Willie’s Churros The churro is topped with maple glaze, chocolate drizzle, and toasted pecans (!!!) to make the perfect Christmas treat. Festival of Holiday Treat Sign Ok guys. We’ve been HUNTING this churro for DAYS. Every time we checked they were either sold out or closed. We need this churro in our lives so we persisted on! Finally, after we checked back at the cart five different times throughout the day, the churro gods answered our sticky-sweet prayers! We can fINALLY say it was worth the wait. Unlike most of the other holiday churros we’ve tried, the Pecan Pie Churro doesn’t come with an option to buy dipping sauce. We think it’s because the churro is SO GOOD, you can just eat it on its own! Pecan Pie Churro If you can imagine biting into a thick waffle after some maple syrup soaks into it, that’s the texture of this churro (our mouths are still watering). The maple glaze and chocolate syrup are a delicious combination. The flavor of the two drizzles melt into your mouth with each bite, which we loooove. Maple Glaze, Chocolate Drizzle, and Roasted Pecans! The nuttiness from the pecans adds a slight hint of extra sweetness on top of the occasional “soft crunch” they give to the churro. Seriously, this churro is NEXT LEVEL. We might need to put this at the top of our Best of the Fest (You know, now that we FINALLY tried it!!)! Pecan Pie Churro We highly recommend that you grab the Pecan Pie Churro for $6.25 during the Festival of Holidays! A churro a day keeps the humbug away, you know!! 17. It’s all sugar, spice, and everything nice as the holidays are in full swing at Disney California Adventure. Tis The Season at California Adventure! We’re revving up our appetite for a limited-time seasonal offering from the Cozy Cone Motel. Disneyland is offering up a slew of seasonal churros this season, but the Cozy Cone Motel is serving the mega cute and photographable Sugar Cookie Churro. Sugar Cookie Churro Priced at $5.79, this is a classic churro that’s topped with white icing and holiday sprinkles. Perfect for all you churro purists out there looking to one-up your churro game this holiday season. The icing was extremely sweet and very messy, but we have to give props for its festive presentation! Sugar Cookie Churro As expected, the churro itself was perfectly crispy on the outside and warm and fluffy on the inside! Give Santa an upgrade to those totally generic sugar cookies you left out for him last year. What Santa REALLY wants is a Disney churro, OBV. 18. The Holidays are in full swing at Disneyland and with it comes a ton of seasonal holiday treats! Christmas Tree at Disneyland Park While we’ve seen lots of sweet treats around the park like the Cranberry Julep, the CUTE Green Alien Santa Macarons, and the tasty Apple Pie Slush, but sometimes we’re feeling salty (in a good way) and want a savory option! If you’re craving something of salty goodness and substance, head to Refreshment Corner on Main Street, U.S.A. They’re offering up a seasonal French Dip Sandwich. Priced at $13.49, this dish features a Crunchy French Roll, Spicy Mustard, Roast Beef and Au Jus, served with choice of Sliced Apples or small bag of Chips. French Dip Sandwich Let’s break this thing down. First, you have a FRESH french roll that had the perfect crisp to its outer shell and a soft inside. The main event, Roast Beef, was soft and tender. You know a French Dip is excellent if you don’t even need the Au Jus sauce! Let’s get to that au jus, it just heightened each bite making it extra juicy and extra flavorful. You may be thinking: Why is there spicy mustard on a French Dip? (TBH: so were we!). It wasn’t overwhelming, adding just the right amount of flavor and a welcome slightly spicy kick! French Dip Sandwich This is a DEFINITE recommendation!! Hearty, flavorful, and the perfect meal for a busy day in the park! The French Dip Sandwich is a seasonal offering available only for a limited time from Refreshment Corner on Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland! Check Out All Of The 2019 Holidays Treats At Disneyland! 19. Overeating, merry greetings — it’s CHRISTMASTIME in Disney World! Gingerbread Cookies And, even though we’ve been keeping you up to date on everything happening in Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios, even the Disney resorts are getting in the (gingerbread) spirit! While we’ve already spotted the Gingerbread Castle at the Contemporary and the Gingerbread House at the Grand Floridian, the Gingerbread Cabin at Wilderness Lodge Resort is NEW this year! Wilderness Lodge Thanks to our follower @bride_of_duffman, we were able to see the Gingerbread Cabin starting to get built in the lobby. (Look at those bakers hard at work!!) Gingerbread Cabin Construction Although we spotted a roof and the Gingerbread Cabin’s sign previously… Gingerbread Cabin Sign …we’re super excited to actually see the cabin start to get sweetly stacked up for the holidays! On top of the beautiful atmosphere at the Wilderness Lodge, the smell of gingerbread is going to make guests’ stays even better! Gingerbread Cabin If you’re in Disney World this holiday season, be sure to check out the Gingerbread Cabin. We’ll keep you updated with more info as it comes! Will you be staying at the Wilderness Lodge during Christmas? Let us know in the comments below! 20. There’s SOOO many new holiday options in Disneyland and we’re trying them ALL! Galactic Grill After sampling the space-tastic goodies at Alien Pizza Planet, we zipped over to Galactic Grill in Disneyland’s Tomorrowland to check out the four new holiday selections — yes, four!! Santa could fill his toy sack with all the treats and eats that have rolled into Disneyland for the Christmas season. Want to know what we thought of these futuristic seasonal dishes?? Galactic Grill introduced four new specials for the holiday season including the Steakhouse Burger, the Apple Pie Slush, the Nova Coffee Slush and the Caramel Pecan Brownie Parfait. We were super pumped to try these dishes out! Apple pie in slush form? Um… YES PLZ!!! Holiday Galactic Grill Let’s take a look at those slushes! We’re always excited to see a new coffee offering in the parks because in Disney, a coffee pick-me-up can do WONDERS when you’ve been running around all day! So, we gave the Nova Coffee Slush a try for $5.49 first! This drink is made with coffee and flavored with chocolate and mint. It’s also got a good mound of whipped cream on top that is dusted with peppermint flakes. Holiday Galactic Grill The peppermint flakes give this slush a pretty seasonal look and the flavors were good, but it’s not exactly jaw-dropping. It tasted less like a coffee slush and more like a chocolate milk slush which isn’t a bad thing! The mint flavor comes mostly from the peppermint topping so it was only mildy minty. Overall, it’s a light drink and pretty refreshing. Plus, with that coffee it gave us a little more fuel in the tank! This is a great pick if you want that Christmasy peppermint drink but not so in your face with it that you feel like you got attacked by a tube of toothpaste! Holiday Galactic Grill Next was the Apple Pie Slush which we were PUMPED to taste. This pie-flavored slush is topped with whipped cream and pie spice and is also priced at $5.49! We liked this one better than the Nova Coffee Slush because it REALLY does taste like you’re drinking real apple pie in slushy form. Chewing is so overrated. Holiday Galactic Grill You know how sometimes something tastes awesome at first then you go a bit flavor-numb to it after a few sips? That kinda happened here with the pie spice part of the drink. First sips were like a pie exploded in our mouths then after a while it tasted more like plain frozen apple juice. Still really refreshing and tasty, just not as “OMG — PIE!!!” after a while. Holiday Galactic Grill A little rarer than seasonal treats are full out seasonal meals so we were thrilled to see the Steakhouse Burger as an option for the holidays for $14.49. We’re still scratching our heads of how a regular ol’ burger counts as a holiday meal, but ok Disneyland, we’re here for you. The burger is an Angus beef patty with provolone, onion strings and bacon served with Greek yogurt or fries. Holiday Galactic Grill We were surprised by this one mostly because of how small the burger was! This thing is TINY compared to other Disney burgers! We were expecting some serious size and flavor with a gourmet name like Steakhouse Burger. The beef patty was fairly thin, and the bacon and onion were on the soggy side on ours. This is a perfectly fine burger if that’s what you’re in the market for, but we went in expecting a bit more. Holiday Galactic Grill Luckily though, our holiday feast ended with a DELISH finale. The Caramel Pecan Brownie Parfait was by far our fave special at Galactic Grill. It’s made up of chocolate cake soaked in sweet condensed milk, caramel-covered pecans, and brownie. How could we not like it?? This treat is available for $6.99 and comes topped with cute holiday sprinkles, crumbled pecans, a dollop of whipped cream, and a white chocolate Mickey! Holiday Galactic Grill The parfait has a full and thick layer of pecans that gives it an awesome texture but our favorite part was the lowest layer. The milk-soaked chocolate cake was flavorful and so, so, so perfectly moist! It was like chocolate tres leches (uno leches? Hmm…)! The toppings didn’t add too much to the flavor but they certainly made the treat look especially festive. Holiday Galactic Grill So, there you have it! Galactic Grill has some out of this world treats and eats, so head on over if you want to try them for yourself! Click here to see all of the holiday offerings in Disneyland this year! 21. There’s certainly no shortage of festive food to be found at Disneyland’s Festival of Holidays at California Adventure! 2019 Festival of Holidays The star of the show may be the Marketplace Booths, but other favorite dining spots are offering up some amazing seasonal dishes of their own! …and the award goes to! We head to our favorite spot in the park for a hot dog, Award Weiners. This place is KNOWN for their awesome and amazing seasonal offerings, like their Lava Dog, Lava Fries, and Sorcerer Mickey Funnel Cake Fries. We can NEVER get enough of their Filmstrip Fries, which are basically thick and tasty steak fries! Award Wieners Filmstrip Fries Presenting, the Cheesy “Corn” Fries from Award Weiners. Returning for the holidays is the Cheesy “Corn” Dog and, basically, they took the already uhhhmazing Filmstrip Fries and topped them with all the goodies that come on the corndog! The fries are covered in tangy Corn-Cheese Sauce, Chile-Lime-dusted Corn Fritters, Pickled Fresno Chiles and Cilantro. Cheesy Corn Fries Priced at $8.99, these cheese corn fries deserve an award all on their own. First off, let’s start with the fun shape of the fries… they are thick, slightly curly, and oh so tasty! Great on their own, but mix them together with crispy sweet corn fritters, savory cheese sauce, sweet corn, and peppers, and you’ve got yourself a snack that packs a flavorful punch. Cheesy Corn Fries Head on over to Award Weiners for this noteworthy seasonal snack AND the return of its big brother, the Cheesy “Corn” Dog. 22. You know that GREAT smell of cookies baking in the oven? Mickey Gingerbread Man Cookie Yes, we’re daydreaming about all the delicious cookies coming to Disneyland for the holidays! And, even though we’ve spotted treats like the Sugar Cookie Churro and the Mickey Gingerbread Man Cookie, a NEW baked good treat is getting brewed up for Christmas that we LOVED! The Snickerdoodle Cold Brew is a brrrrilliant take on a classic cookie at the Hungry Bear Restaurant! The cold brew is topped with a snickerdoodle cream foam, a snickerdoodle cookie, cookie crumbles, and festive sprinkles! (It looks like a literal plate of cookies!!) This drink is actually a delightfully different Christmas drink compared to others we’ve seen in the parks! The cold brew has a smooth, full-bodied, and rich flavor that kept us sipping away. The snickerdoodle foam cream is sweet and cinnamon-y, so you could taste it with every bite. The mini snickerdoodle cookie, cookie crumbles, and sprinkles add some extra chewiness and crunchiness to the drink that we LOVED. Seriously, if you’re a coffee-lover, this holiday treat is the perfect way to start Christmas off right!! Get into the holiday spirit with the Snickerdoodle Cold Brew for $5.99! You could even have 2 — y’know, to keep your energy up for all those rides! And, while you’re there, be sure to check out the other Christmas treats in Disneyland and Disney California Adventure! 23. Even when it’s NOT the most wonderful time of the year, we still love dining at Disneyland’s Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante! Rancho Del Zocalo Thanks in large part to its location right next to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in Frontierland, we love hearing the train whistles as we feast on delicious tacos, burritos, and other Mexican-inspired eats on Rancho del Zocalo’s large outdoor patio! And today we just had to make our way over to Rancho del Zocalo to taste ALL FOUR of their seasonal offerings! First up — the Caldo de Pollo Soup! This hearty soup of chicken, vegetables, and rice is served with diced onions, fresh cilantro, and a plump little wedge of lime! Caldo de Pollo Soup The Caldo de Pollo Soup was a big hit with us — definitely worth getting, and only costs $5.99! Absolutely delicious and packed with flavor while still being very light and tasty! Plus, check out the huge piece of corn in ours! Caldo de Pollo Soup Next, we tried the seasonal Chicken Mole for $15.49. It’s a HUGE honking plate of food! The entree consists of an entire half of a chicken with seasoned with Mexican spices, topped with mole, sour cream and toasted sesame seeds. A side of tortillas, Mexican rice, and refried beans completes the whole thing — just in case you were still feeling peckish after that half of a chicken you just ingested! Chicken Mole The chicken was crazy moist and cooked perfectly. If you’ve never had mole, it’s a chocolate (but not sweet!) based sauce. The mole sauce was very smooth, flavorful — not overly sweet like some moles can be. There was just a hint of heat to the sauce, but not enough to scare any first-timers trying mole away. Meanwhile, the rice and beans were just standard — not good or bad, just there if you still had room for ’em! We recommend stuffing your chicken into those tortillas and sopping up that yummy sauce! Chicken Mole We also tasted the Champurrado with Churro Bites for $4.99. It’s a traditional “mexican hot chocolate” and not like its counterpart Abuelita Hot Chocolate. Champurrado is thicker and creamier, typically thickened with masa (corn flour). Flavored with cinnamon, vanilla, and other spices, this one was just okay in our opinion. It’s supposed to be served with churro bites for dipping, but sadly they were out when we stopped by. We’re thinking the combo of churros and the thick drink would have been pretty stellar! Champurrado with Churro Bites Lastly, we sampled the Pan Dulce Ice Cream Sandwich for $7.99. Presentation-wise, this guy’s a show stopper (and it’s the holiday colored version of Pan Dulce Ice Cream Sandwich Rancho del Zocalo had at Halloween!) The Mexican sweet bread is picture-perfect with its festive red and green shell swirl, stuffed with dulce de leche ice cream and cajeta (Mexican caramel), sprinkled with silver star sugar, garnished with whipped cream, churro streusel, and a white chocolate Sugar Skull decoration. Pan Dulce Ice Cream Sandwich It looks fantastic, and the flavors didn’t disappoint either! The dulce de Leche ice cream was drenched in that cateja sauce and was delicious. We thought the concha bread was a little dry for our liking, but altogether the flavors really sung. Pan Dulce Ice Cream Sandwich So next time you hear the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad whistle blow, head over to Rancho del Zocalo to rustle up one of their holiday menu items for yourself! Do you enjoy dining at Rancho del Zocalo when you visit Disneyland? Let us know why (or why not!) in the comments section below! 24. We can’t get enough of all the eats and treats popping up in Disneyland for the holidays! Sleeping Beauty Castle Holiday Decor In New Orleans Square, we’ve already sampled the new Cranberry Julep at the Mint Julep Bar and the Holiday Pozole at Harbour Galley, but now we’re gonna deck the halls with some delicious seafood! (Merry Fish-mas, everyone! ;D) The Blue Lump Crab Fritters are being tossed and fried at Royal Street Veranda for Christmastime! Cafe Orleans Holiday Menu The fritters are filled with crab, cream cheese (!!!), Old Bay seasoning, herbs, and citrus, and also come with a cocktail dipping sauce. Blue Lump Crab Fritters Just one bite, and we were already in love with these fritters. The contrast in texture between the crispy outer shell and the soft filling (and that crunch sound!!) is wonderful. The consistency of the filling almost resembles a chicken salad, but it’s considerably less thick and melts into your mouth. Yeahhh, it’s just as good as it sounds!! While the crab is delicious, the cream cheese makes it even better as it’s the most prominent flavor (which we OBVIOUSLY can’t get enough of). Melty CREAM CHEESE!! While the fritters were soooo good on their own, the mild cocktail sauce cranks them to the next level. The slightly sweet sauce pairs perfectly with the cream cheese and the crab, tying the whole dish together. For real, we’ve never finished a snack so fast in the parks before!! Cocktail Sauce You can try the incredible Blue Lump Crab Fritters for yourself for $6.49 before the Annual Passholder discount. But, we can’t promise you’re not going to want seconds!!
