Here at DFB, we’re never ones to shy away from some Disney Popcorn! But something about the holiday season makes it even BETTER! We’ve already picked up the light-up Mickey Christmas Tree Popcorn Bucket and the Mickey Elf Popcorn Bucket, but there’s ALWAYS room for more popcorn in our lives! We’ve been fans of the highly snackable Holiday Festive Popcorn available at carts throughout Hollywood Studios during Flurry of Fun for the past couple of years. And it’s back for the holiday season again this year! Holiday Festive Popcorn This treat is a sweet and salty mix of caramel popcorn, red and green M&Ms, chocolate chips, and a light drizzle of white chocolate throughout. It looks like the glazed nuts from previous years have been replaced by crushed candy cane this year! Holiday Festive Popcorn It’s served in a portable bag this year, so you can snack and then save some for later while you’re running around to take in all the festivities like Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! and Sunset Seasons Greetings! Holiday Festive Popcorn We love the combination of salty and sweet here, and the fact that it’s easily share-able and snack-able makes it a must! Check out our full coverage of the treats at Hollywood Studios here! Do you like Disney popcorn? Sound off in the comments! It may seem like the most unlikely of places, but way down south here in Florida there’s a place you might confuse with the North Pole. Twinkling lights, snow flurries, sweet treats and Christmas cheer: You can find it all during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom Park! Combining the magic of Disney with the magic of Christmas creates a winter wonderland so festive, even Santa Claus himself can’t resist stopping by to join the party. I always find it difficult to leave at the end of the party, and since I can’t fulfill my childhood dream of taking up permanent residence inside of Magic Kingdom Park, I’ve found that the best way to remember the merriment after I’ve gone home is by using Disney PhotoPass Service. Disney PhotoPass will capture your photos during the party so you can focus on the fun and remember it all long after the sleigh bells stop ringing. With six onboard attraction photo capture opportunities, numerous Character Experiences, holly-jolly props (my favorite is the Tinker Bell lantern available near Enchanted Tales with Belle), Magic Shots, Animated Magic Shots, and scenic photo spots adorned in holiday décor, you won’t want to miss a single memory! Be sure to ask each photographer you visit during the party which Magic Shots are available at that location. This year you can even jingle all the way to the Disney PhotoPass Studio inside of Sir Mickey’s in Fantasyland where a photographer will help you pose in front of a holiday backdrop with seasonal props. No reservations required. Wondering how to download and share all of your Disney PhotoPass photos captured during the party? Unwrap a special offer that’s sure to keep your spirits bright: Stop by the Disney PhotoPass Sales Center inside of Town Square Theater during your party to save $10 on Memory Maker One Day!* Parks, attractions, entertainment or character experiences may change operating hours; close due to refurbishing, capacity, weather, special events, character availability or other reasons; and otherwise change or be discontinued without notice and without liability to the owners of the Walt Disney World Resort. *Memory Maker One Day offer is only available at Magic Kingdom Park’s Town Square Theater during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party event nights only from November 8 to December 22, 2019. Offer is not available at other locations, online or in the My Disney Experience app and cannot be applied to previous purchases. Disney PhotoPass Service and Memory Maker are subject to the applicable terms and policies. Includes photos taken during the applicable Memory Maker Window as defined in such terms (generally, photos taken (i) within one day for Memory Maker One Day or (ii) within 30 days from the date of first activation for standard Memory Maker). A MagicBand is required to receive certain attraction photos and other digital content. Online registration required. Disney PhotoPass Photos in your account will expire pursuant to the expiration policy. Downloads are restricted to personal use only. Not responsible for missing, lost or damaged photos. Subject to restrictions and change without notice. Valid theme park admission required for certain photo locations. View the full article

If you and your little one are looking to get in the spirit of Arendelle, there’s sparkly apparel and an icy blue cross body now available as part of the recently launched Arendelle Aqua collection available at Disney Parks. This on-trend, blue hue merchandise line is the latest color collection to hit Disney Parks inspired by the Academy Award-winning animated feature, “Frozen” from Walt Disney Animation Studios. And it’s super cool! Whether its sailing thru Arendelle in Frozen Ever After, or meeting the royal sisters Anna and Elsa at the Royal Summerhus, the new attire is just right for a mommy and me day at Epcot. Santa’s making his list, he’s checking it twice — and Hollywood Studios is pulling out all the stops for his arrival soon! Prep and Landing Elves There’s decorations, parties, snoap (!!!), and SO. MANY. TREATS. And, while we’ve spotted the Cinnamon-Apple lunchbox Tart already in the park, now Santa’s elves are preparing a new dessert to make the season merry and bright! The Prep and Landing Cupcake has made its return, flying into the Trolley Car Cafe this year! While the 2018 version of the cupcake had bright red icing (that was a little too much for us…we’re still doing laundry), the 2017 version had cream cheese frosting. This year’s Prep and Landing Cupcake has brought back a lighter version of the cream cheese frosting! And, the white icing is thankfully pleasing to this eyes this time around! The spiced gingerbread cake has a gingerbread filling and is topped with cream cheese frosting, festive sprinkles, a snowflake candy, and a white chocolate piece featuring Lanny and Wayne (welcome back, you guys!!). Compared to the previous cupcakes, the 2019 Prep and Landing Cupcake has a much lighter flavor. The cream cheese on top isn’t too rich and almost has a fluffy consistency. The gingerbread filling actually has a kick of cinnamon to it that we LOVED. Plus, the last lil crunch from the white chocolate piece, snowflake candy, and sprinkles are giving us energy to hop around Hollywood Studios to get MORE dessert! You can get the Prep and Landing Cupcake this year for $5.99 or a Disney Dining Plan snack credit! Kudos to Disney for making this cupcake a lot more palatable this year! And don’t forget to head over and check out all of our other holiday coverage today! We’re LIVE in Hollywood Studios, Magic Kingdom, and Animal Kingdom for more! What did you think about this year’s version of the Prep and Landing Cupcake? Let us know in the comments below! Time to pack those holiday lunchboxes, kiddos (and grownups)! Toy Story Land Holiday Decor We LOVE how Toy Story Land goes all out for the holidays. The festive decor always puts a smile on our faces! And over at Woody’s Lunch Box, you’ll be saying “I’m Woody! Howdy, howdy, howdy!!” to this seasonal take on a Toy Story Land staple! This year’s holiday lunchbox tart is HERE, and it’s SO beautiful! New Holiday Lunchbox Tart at Woody’s Lunchbox The Cinnamon-Apple lunchbox tart is the perfect combo of sweetness and spice. It’s not overly filled, so that means the treat is less sweet than you’d expect — the butter crust definitely gets its due here. Inside Lunchbox Tart So if you’re like me and kind of love filling more than crust, this one isn’t ideal for you. But if you’re a crust-fan — Merry Christmas to YOU! ;-D Cinnamon-Apple Lunchbox Tart We’ve got tons more holiday treats to share with you today! Stay tuned! Starting today, Disney’s Animal Kingdom will “unwrap” and introduce the biggest holiday season in the park’s two-decade history, with festive new entertainment and holiday décor in every land. Discovery Island will play host to life-sized animal puppets during the day. As the sun sets, the Tree of Life will boast a shimmery new look and will periodically “awaken” with a series of wintry tales accompanied by a holiday musical score. Over in DinoLand, U.S.A., all of Donald Duck’s friends gathered for Donald’s Dino-Bash! get into the spirit with colorful holiday decorations that they have each chosen in their own style. The Asia section of the park is celebrating Diwali, the Holiday Festival of Lights in India. Here, guests can see glowing lanterns and more illuminating the main square that leads to the waterfront stage – home to authentic and colorful cultural performances. The Africa section of the park will welcome guests with a unique holiday presentation that fuses Western traditions with the colors and texture of authentic African celebrations. Running a half marathon is an incredible feat itself. Running a half marathon after twice surviving Leukemia is truly miraculous. But that’s exactly what Canadian runner Boyd Dunleavey, 45, did at the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon this past Sunday. And waiting for him at the finish line with his medal? The man who saved his life – Nathan Barnes, who donated his stem cells which ultimately gave Dunleavey a new lease on life. Dunleavey was diagnosed in 2011 with a rare blood cancer – acute myeloid Leukemia – and given a 10 percent chance of surviving more than a few months without a stem cell transplant from a donor outside of his family. After Dunleavey endured a year of treatments and a cancer relapse in February 2012, doctors identified Barnes as a suitable stem cell donor. The challenge? Barnes was in Japan, stationed there as a gunners’ mate in the US Navy. But, finally, in May 2012, Dunleavey had the life-saving stem cell transplant. “When we found out it was a gentleman named Nathan, it was incredible,” said Dunleavey. “Our middle son’s name is Nathan, and it means ‘Gift of God.’” Soon after the transplant, Dunleavey began running as part of his recovery, and it quickly became a passion, partly because of his love of Disney. At last count, he has done several half marathons and seven full marathons. “I never would have run a marathon without Disney,” Dunleavey said. “January 2015 was my first, during the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend. I’ve run the marathon twice, multiple virtual races, four half marathons, and several 10Ks. The runDisney community is fantastic!” This past weekend, during the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend, that passion for running led to something even bigger. After more than seven years – while Barnes had been stationed overseas – Dunleavey and his family were finally able to meet the man who saved his life. “I had no idea you could actually feel this good about something,” Barnes said about their meeting, even before presenting Dunleavey with his medal for running 13.1 miles through Walt Disney World Resort. “My motto is ‘never lose hope,’” Dunleavey said. “Life is a special gift. We were told that with the stem cell transplant, my chances of living five years were only 30 percent. This is Year 7! Never lose hope.” View the full article

The pumpkins are gone and the ornaments and wreaths are out in Disneyland! It’s CHRISTMAS TIME, everybody!! Festival of Holidays Tasting Passport We’ve made it through the soft opening of the Festival of Holidays in Disney California Adventure and we got ALL THE THINGS!!! (Yay!!) Now through January 6th, 2020, the festival creates a merry atmosphere so guests can get in the holiday spirit. And, we’re ready to tell you about the eats, treats, and drinks you can’t miss this year in our Best of the Fest recommendations! If you’re hopping in your sleigh to visit the Festival of Holidays, you’ll want to start making your must eat list and checking it twice. And, the team at DFB has got you covered! We’ve tried EVERYTHING at this year’s festival so we can give you the deets on the best items at the booths. “Hot Cocoa” Marshmallow Macaron Be sure to check out our Marketplace Booth Page for a lil sneak peek at the food and drinks! Click the links for Photos of EVERY SINGLE FOOD ITEM AT THE FESTIVAL! We hope you’re hungry ‘cause we’re about to rock around the Best of the Fest! Cranberry Sangria at Holiday Duets Our first stop is at Holiday Duets with the Cranberry Sangria, which has come back for another year of fun at Festival of the Holidays! If you’re looking to start your holiday stroll off with a boozy beverage, this is definitely the drink to sip on! Cranberry Sangria with Lime Garnish The fruity flavors of the cranberry are balanced with the bitterness that comes from the red wine. Plus, adding that final spritz of lime gives the drink a hint of tartness that is delicious. I mean, you can’t go wrong with a sangria in Disney! (; Chorizo Fundido at Brews & Bites Cheese ANYTHING already scores some major DFB points. (We just really love cheese!!) Chorizo Fundido We’ve seen different quesos come and go over the years at Brews & Bites. This year, the Chorizo Fundido is a white queso served with house-made tortilla chips. While there isn’t anything too unique about the flavors, all that cheesy goodness goes so well with the salty chips! Fried Turkey Slider at Winter Sliderland Winter Sliderland is back again with a taste of a good ole’ Christmas turkey! Fried Turkey Slider While there was a Roasted Turkey Slider last year, the Fried Turkey Slider has made its debut this year with cranberry sauce and cole slaw. Although we thought the roasted version was great, the fried turkey has an extra crunch to the sandwich from the breading that was so satisfying. Can we make fried turkey a Christmas staple?? Shepherd’s Upside-Down Pie at Grandma’s Recipes Plant-based options have been a norm at the festivals in California Adventure. We’ve saw the Impossible Burger at the Food & Wine Festival earlier this year, and veggie lovers are getting another treat at the Festival of Holidays! Shepherd’s Upside Down Pie Grandma’s Recipes is cooking up the Shepherd’s Upside-down Pie! The deconstructed pie is made with mashed potatoes, carrots, peas, plant-based “meat,” and a Mickey-shaped biscuit. We might pick this over our own grandma’s recipe for shepherd’s pie tbh!! Caramelized Apple Cake at Making Spirits Bright Apple and caramel just happens to be one of the BEST dessert combos! (You know we’re right!) Caramelized Apple Cake The Caramelized Apple Cake is topped with crème anglaise and salted caramel sauce (YUM) at Making Spirits Bright this year. And, let us tell you, it made our day at Festival of Holidays even brighter. The sauces melt into the apple cake, making it incredibly moist with each bite. We kinda want one giant Caramelized Apple Cake to bring to our DFB family Christmas party! Hot Cocoa Marshmallow Macaron at Making Spirits Bright Hot Cocoa Flights can be spotted around the Festival of Holidays, but we keep coming back to the returning Hot Cocoa Marshmallow Macaron at Making Spirits Bright! “Hot Cocoa” Marshmallow Macaron The chocolate flavored cookies have a chocolate filling with a hint of marshmallow. Honestly, each bite reminded us of sitting around a campfire with our friends, eating s’mores and drinking hot chocolate in the cold. And, what’s even better — the macaron is gluten friendly!! Sooo, does that mean we can eat as many as we want now? Pork al Pastor Naan Taco at Merry Mashups Merry Mashups surprises us with something new and exciting each year by combining a bunch of ingredients for a delicious mashup! Pork al Pastor Naan Taco This year, the Pork al Pastor Naan Taco is the PERFECT afternoon snack to satisfy your stomach. The naan bread is filled with tender pork, pineapple pico de gallo, and cilantro-lime Greek yogurt crema. Although the savory, sweet, and tangy flavors seem like they might not mix, they team up to make one GREAT taco. You might want to get 2 more to make it a full meal!! EVERYTHING at Favorite Things It’s only fitting that Favorite Things is carrying some of our…favorite things…from the festival this year! We also look forward to trying a twist on some classic mac at Disney food festivals, and the Holiday Stuffing Mac and Cheese doesn’t disappoint! We were all about this returning favorite, especially with that stuffing mix sprinkled on top! Holiday Stuffing Mac & Cheese You can use the mac as an appetizer to the Glazed Ham Shanks. Yeah, Christmas ham might be the norm for the holidays, these bbs practically fall apart with every bite! Glazed Ham Shanks And, you can finish your cheesy and savory meal off with the HUGE Gingerbread Mickey Cookie for dessert! The spicy gingerbread tastes like the classic treat but the light coating of flood icing, holiday sprinkles, and fondant leaves gives the dessert some extra sweetness (and crunch!). We could have an ENTIRE PLATE of these cookies to ourselves. Sorry, Santa! Gingerbread Mickey Cookie Even though there are many drinks to try at the Favorite Things booth, the Warm Bourbon Cider had balanced notes of alcohol and apple cider that made us want to finish it all in one gulp! Plus, the warmth from the cider gave us a little boost to grab seconds from the booths! (; Warm Bourbon Cider Returning Favorites Sometimes you take a bite of an item, fall in love with it, and cross your fingers that it comes back again for the following year’s festival! And, we’re SO happy that these snacks are back! At A Twist on Tradition, the Reuben Potato Tots have come back again with their Russian dressing and rye toast. Crunchy, messy, salty, and savory — yeah, we can’t recommend these enough! Reuben Potato Tots with Russian Dressing and Rye Toast The Braised Pork Belly Adobo with that incredibly good garlic fried rice is back at Holiday Duets! If you want to have some great pork belly, you’ll want to grab this dish (and maybe even share it with a friend). Braised Pork Belly Adobo with Garlic Fried Rice Christmas turkey is making another round at the Merry Mashups booth with the Turkey and Stuffing Tamale! We LOVED this treat before since it was like eating a mini Thanksgiving dinner all neatly wrapped up like a Christmas gift. Turkey and Stuffing Tamale Part of the fun every year at Festival of Holidays is seeing what the Mickey and Minnie Cookies at Holiday Duets will look like! The iced sugar cookies for 2019 are a Minnie Snowwoman and Christmas lights on a Mickey Cookie Tree. They are TOO CUTE!! Mickey and Minnie Cookies There are so many other treats that have returned as well as BRAND NEW items that will make your tastebuds sing some Christmas carols. That’s all for this year’s Best of the Fest! Thanks for snacking with us! Festival Map While you can always pick up a map at Disney California Adventure’s park entrance, you can start planning out what booths to visit ahead of time by checking out the Festival of Holidays map! It’s true! Animal Kingdom gets wilder every time we’re there! Tree of Life at Disney’s Animal Kingdom We were enjoying a leisurely stroll up to the park entrance when we came face to face with something we weren’t exactly prepared to see…at least outside of one of the theme park’s exhibits! We spotted THIS GUY…and he gave us a little start to be sure! Snake at Entrance to Animal Kingdom! EEP! Yep, it’s always good to be reminded that central Florida is a HAVEN for reptiles, including gators and these little beauties. We’re guessing he’s a black racer snake — very common to the area and completely harmless (unless you’re a snake or a tree frog, that is). We spotted him here on the walkway to the Animal Kingdom. Walking Path to Animal Kingdom And this is an excellent time to remind you that even though you may be in the “Disney Bubble,” you’re still in a real place and in the real world! Due to its swampland status, Disney World has plenty of snakes, gators, and other wildlife that you should be aware of. Keep an eye on your kiddos — even in the theme parks — and stay aware. Have you seen any interesting unexpected creatures while visiting Disney World? Related posts: Ticket Discounts on Disney Theme Parks, Water Parks, and Special Events! See How Much You Can SAVE!
