  1. Disneyland is truly a magical place where anything…and we mean ANYTHING…can happen! Sleeping Beauty Castle We’ve been walking in a Winter Wonderland around Disneyland the past few days taking in all the festive sights and enjoying the new eats for the season. We were all geared up to watch the first “Believe…In Holiday Magic” fireworks of the holiday season when…something kinda CRAZY happened! For so many guests, watching the fireworks over Sleeping Beauty Castle is a must-do. So imagine their (and OUR!) surprise when, right before the fireworks began, the main voice cast of Frozen 2 appeared in front of the castle!!! Frozen 2 Cast in Front of Sleeping Beauty Castle We didn’t get many pictures and the ones we got are fairly blurry…sorry. (Hey, we’re human! We were caught off guard and MORE than a little starstruck!!) Queen Elsa (Idina Menzel), her sister Anna (Kristen Bell), Kristoff (Jonathan Groff), and Olaf (Josh Gad) all ran out in front of twinkling Sleeping Beauty Castle to kick off the fun in celebration of the upcoming release of Frozen 2 on November 22nd. Frozen 2 Cast To say the crowd went absolutely nuts would be an understatement! Our ears are still ringing!! This was an insanely unexpected and fun surprise that so many guests in Disneyland tonight certainly won’t forget! We know we won’t! Haven’t purchased Frozen 2 tickets yet? Click here! There’s a lot going on this holiday season at Disney’s California Adventure Park! 2019 Disney California Adventure Festival of Holidays With Festival of Holidays currently under way, there’s no shortage of festivities, fun, and more importantly, FOOD. The stars are shining merry and bright in Hollywood land as we roll out the red carpet for the Peppermint Mickey Shake from Schmoozies. Peppermint Mickey Shake Priced at $7.99, it’s a Peppermint Chocolate Crème Cookie Shake with Whipped Topping, Christmas Accents, and festive Chocolate Crème-filled Cookie Ears (which just happen to say Oreo). Peppermint Mickey Shake This baby is a real head turner! We couldn’t even walk two steps without people asking where we got this super festive holiday shake. Not only is it adorable, but it’s AMAZING! The base flavor is cookies and cream with a subtle hint of mint. Beware: the red whipped cream will stain your fingers, but it’s TOTALLY worth it! Schmoozies!!! This seasonal goodie is only available for a limited time from Schmoozies. Better put some PEP(permint) in your step and get over there! 3. Reindeers are better than people… . And this new dessert is one of the best treats in Magic Kingdom at the moment, especially if you’re Sven! Cinderella’s Castle We’ve been updating you with ALL the Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party treats, like the Carved Turkey Sandwich, Moana Kakamora Float, and the Orange Bird Christmas Treat. But now, we can’t cake our eyes off the latest snack making its way into Disney World! Sven‘s favorite snack is carrots, and one of our new favorite snacks just happens to be Sven’s Carrot Cake at Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn & Café! Sven’s Carrot Cake The Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party- exclusive dessert is carrot cake topped with cream cheese frosting, sugar carrots, and a white chocolate piece featuring our pal with the big antlers (and appetite for orange root vegetables), Sven! Sven’s Carrot Cake We enjoyed Sven’s Carrot Cake A LOT — sweet, moist and delicious! Plus the cream cheese frosting was really on point! Sven’s Carrot Cake But be warned — if you’re not a huge carrot lover like Sven, you probably won’t be appreciative of just how much carrot this thing has in it! We’re talkin’ HEAVY on the carrot, which we’re fans of, but might be a little much for some folks. Sven’s Carrot Cake You can get your own Sven’s Carrot Cake at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party for $5.99 at Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe. And while we can’t wait to see Sven back in action in Frozen 2 on November 22nd, we are loving the adorable Sven Sipper we just snagged at the Magic Kingdom today — read more about it here! The Jolly Tamale Christmas cost $11.99, which is kinda a lot for only three tamales! For the price and the taste we weren’t super impressed — after all, we have some Texans on our DFB team who know a thing or two about yummy tamales! Jolly Tamale Christmas They are, however, a good alternative to the standard tacos and burritos normally found at this Magic Kingdom restaurant known for its Tex-Mex offerings, so giddy up for a Jolly Tamale Christmas if you’re looking to try something new! 5. The hot and the cold are both so intense. Put ’em together, it just makes sense! Hollywood Studios 2019 Holiday Guide Map It might be VERY humid in Florida right now, but it’s still Christmastime in Disney World! While we’ve been coming at you LIVE with plenty of Frozen treats, like Olaf’s Frozen Hot Chocolate Cake and Elsa’s Magical Macarons, we’re giving ya a sip of something NEW and exciting for the holidays in Hollywood Studios! Olaf’s Snow Flurry is a (snow) ball of fun over at the Market near Toy Story Land! The Market’s Holiday Menu The vanilla and orange frozen slushy is topped with whipped cream, green sugar, and orange sprinkles. A light-up Olaf Glow Clip is just chilling around on the rim, waving hello to his new friends! Olaf’s Snow Flurry Olaf is the sweetest snowman! That’s why it makes sense that Olaf’s Snow Flurry is a sweet treat that’s big enough to share with your besties! The mixture of vanilla and orange tastes like an orange creamsicle in a cup (heaven!!). The whipped cream on top makes the slushy a bit more creamy, and the sprinkles add a slight crunch. Olaf’s Snow Flurry We can’t wait to see what your buddies all think when you grab the adorbs Olaf’s Snow Flurry! It’s all yours for $10.79 before tax. Olaf’s Snow Flurry And, while you’re hanging out in Hollywood Studios, be sure to check out the Christmas decorations and Jingle Ball, Jingle BAM! show in the parks! 6. The weather outside is frightful, but the hot chocolate inside is so delightful! Hollywood Studios Christmas Decor We’ve been spotting LOTS of chocolate-y treats while we’ve reported to you live from Hollywood Studios! We’ve tasted the Chocolate Chestnut Pinecone, Olaf’s Chocolate Marshmallow Verrine, and Goofy’s Hot Chocolate, Not Hot Chocolate Verrine in the park already, but we’re warming ourselves up with a returning fan-favorite! The Holiday Cocoa Flight has hopped on a sleigh ride over to the Market, making other stops at Fairfax Fare, Dockside Diner, Woody’s Lunch Box, and MORE! Hot Cocoa Flight While we’ve seen the Spiked Cocoa Flight change over the past years, the hot chocolate this year features Vanilla Vodka, Black Cherry Bourbon, and Bailey’s Original Irish Cream! Hot Cocoa Flight Hot chocolate in Disney World is an absolute must-have during the holidays, and the spiked versions are INCLUDED! The booze and chocolate are balanced perfectly so you can taste both flavors with each sip, and the frothy whipped cream adds a sweet finish to the rich chocolate concoction (and you can have a lil cute whipped cream mustache afterwards too)! We are happy to welcome back the same flavors from last year since they’re still just as INCREDIBLE this year! Hot Cocoa Flight You can try the Hot Cocoa Flight for $14, or get the drinks individually for $12 each! Um…no brainer. If you’re looking for a frozen take on the Spiked Hot Cocoa, you head on over to the Gingerbread Snack Stand at the Contemporary for an icy boozy beverage, too! 7. We’re headed to Animal Kingdom for their biggest holiday celebration ever! Animal Kingdom this Holiday Season! This year, the park is getting in on the holiday action with new offerings, decor, and treats! We’ve seen Peppermint soft-serve, and the Christmas lion paw cookie, but if you’re getting just ONE thing at Animal Kingdom during the holidays, make it this! In addition to all the holiday decor we spotted in DinoLand U.S.A., we found a new seasonal treat! Dino-Bite Snacks is offering the Double-Chocolate Peppermint Ice Cream Sandwich. Peppermint Ice Cream Sandwich This massive treat features vanilla ice cream that is served between Double Chocolate Cookies and then rolled in Peppermint Candy Bits. To sweeten the deal, one of the cookies is dipped in red-swirled white chocolate. Peppermint Ice Cream Sandwich This masterpiece was absolutely FANTASTIC! The cookies were soft and chewy, and worked harmoniously with the ice cream that was rolled in the candy cane crunch. It wasn’t overpoweringly peppermint-y, and that’s the KEY FACTOR. I’m totally cool with peppermint when it’s well balanced by rich chocolate and vanilla. DFB Tip: PEPPERMINT = ACCENT FLAVOR, y’all. If peppermint is your main flavor, you’re either eating toothpaste or gum. And that’s no good. DON’T SWALLOW TOOTHPASTE OR GUM. (OK, you can eat candy canes. But who wants to eat like 50 candy canes in a row? Not me. But I WOULD eat 50 of these little beauties in a row. And HOW!) Eat me! If you only have one thing while visiting Animal Kingdom this holiday season, make it this! It can be yours for $6.99 or a snack credit on the Disney Dining Plan. Follow along today as we’re reporting LIVE from Animal Kingdom with all the NEW holiday treats, entertainment, and decor here! 8. You know we’re pretty much obsessed with all things cheese here at DFB HQ, so we were totally FREAKING OUT when we heard about one of the exclusive treats that would be offered during the 2019 Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Disney’s Magic Kingdom ! This party exclusive treat is available at Gaston’s Tavern, features beer-cheese dip with smoked bacon bits (!!!), AND is served with breadstick antlers — you know, because he uses them in all of his decorating, so yeah… it just kinda makes sense in a delicious sort of way! Gaston’s Cheese Dipper Things got pretty cheesy when this NEW Mickey’s Very Merry treat arrived! Nice breadstick antler to cheese ratio, we gotta say! Gaston’s Cheese Dipper And we’re being honest when we tell ya, if Gaston’s Cheese Dipper was an everyday menu item and not just a party exclusive, we’d get it EVERY TIME we visited the Magic Kingdom — HINT! HINT! It’s THAT yummy! Gaston’s Cheese Dipper The Gaston’s Cheese Dipper was only $5.49, which we thought was a great value — especially because it’s so sharable! Gaston’s Cheese Dipper And Gaston’s Cheese Dip isn’t the only new thrill to be found in Fantasyland — make sure to swing by where he greets his adoring public just outside Gaston’s Tavern to see his new outfit! But be warned — if his handsome good looks don’t ensnare you, his cheese dip just might! What party exclusive treats are you most looking forward to at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party? 10. “Just hear those sleigh bells jingling, ring-ting-tingling too!” Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Entrance Christmastime has is making EVERYTHING merry and bright in Magic Kingdom. If you’ve been following along with us as we’ve been live in the park today, you’ve seen plenty of delicious treats and festive decorations! And, now we’re back at the first (!!!) Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party tonight where we spotted a very strange, but very delicious “holiday” treat. The Kakamora Float is being swirled up at Aloha Isle in Adventureland! Wait, what’s a Kakamora you ask?? Kakamora Float ICYMI, the Kakamora are the pirate warriors and thieves that tried to steal the heart of Te Fiti in Moana. Buuut, even though they’re kinda vicious, they’re also REALLY cute — yes, they’re just little aggressive coconuts. So, what does that have to do with Christmas, you ask? Kakamora Float Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is exclusively mixing up the coconut soft-serve with pineapple juice, blue curaçao syrup, and a chocolate Kakamora cake pop for guests to try during the event. Kakamora Float You might wanna put down your fruit cakes, because the Kakamora Float is both fruity and refreshing! The creaminess from the coconut soft-serve, the tartness from the pineapple juice, and the citrus flavors from the blue curaçao all blend together to create a drink you could have ANY time of the year. Kakamora Float The chocolate cake pop is packed with different flavors of chocolate. While the inside has more of a rich dark chocolate, the white chocolate decorations add an extra bit of sweetness to the cocoa. Kakamora Float The cake on the inside was super moist. We could have had an entire Kakamora cake, honestly!! (Polynesian Resort, we’re looking at you.) Kakamora Float It might not fully be a “holiday” treat, but it’s quickly become of our favorite desserts that we’ve tried in Disney World! And, on top of the other desserts we’ve seen in Magic Kingdom today, we spotted a twist on this classic treat only available during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party (!!!). So, flap your wings ’cause we’re heading over to Adventureland, everybody! The Orange Bird Christmas made our tastebuds sing at the Sunshine Tree Terrace! Sunshine Tree Terrace Holiday Menu Exclusively available to party guests, the dessert features a citrus almond cream cake, orange-scented white chocolate mousse, an orange curd filling, a candied “orange peel,” buttercream leaves, and a white chocolate Orange Bird piece (with an ADORABLE Santa hat!!). Orange Bird Christmas First of all, before we even took a bite of the cake, the orange smell was AH-MAZING. We seriously need an Orange Bird Christmas candle or something now!! The treat is so citrus-y and light that we could have had 2 more of these. Look at That CUTIE! The white chocolate mousse and almond cream cake have simple flavors that are boosted with the orange curd and candied orange peel. The final crunch of the dessert comes from the white chocolate piece, but we actually LOVE how soft and moist the dessert is. This actually might be in our top 5 Christmas treats of all time. A light-up Elsa Glow Clip rests on the side as the queen conjures up frozen fractals all around! Northern Lights Slushy My own personal FAVORITE slushy flavor just happens to be blue raspberry (obvs the best), so it comes at little surprise to us that this slush is delicious!! The blue raspberry flavor is tart compared to the sweet whipped cream. The cotton candy melts in your mouth (yaaas!), which perfectly ties in with the smooth slush. Plus, that rock candy is a treat AFTER the treat, so kudos to the Market for the 2-in-1 dessert! It looks a LOT like the Jingle Bell Sipper! Holiday Mule Returns! The vodka and cranberry are the focus here, but it gets an extra kick of flavor from the tart limoncello as well as a light zing from the ginger beer. Because it’s November 8th and by now we all know why November 8th is so important, right?? Holiday Sipper and Popcorn Buckets Right! So while on our mission to eat every holiday treat in Disney World today, we came across a couple in Animal Kingdom that were a little mysterious. One of these was this Pumpkin Pretzel at Thirsty River Bar and Trek Snacks in Asia, which is described as a Pumpkin Spice dusted Pretzel dipped in Orange Icing. Pumpkin Spice Pretzel Looks cute enough, right? But THIS is what we actually received: Pumpkin Spice Pretzel Yikes. We got major confetti mickey pretzel vibes from this one. We thought it was weird that this looked so…well…BAD. (Disney seems to be solely focused on creating snacks that are entirely instagrammable these days.) We did our best to make the photos come out decently. But…this snack was just unattractive. We even bought it AGAIN to try to get a decent-looking one (we spare no cost when we’re reporting ;-D). Here’s the second: second pumpkin pretzel Yeah. So, a little later in the day we wanted to see if we could try again. (Once in a while, when there’s a new treat, the first few are “bad pancakes” if you know what I mean? Kind of misshapen and wayward?) And when we tried to buy the pretzel for a third time, it was mysteriously GONE! We checked with several cast members (and also checked the menu online on Disney’s website, where the pretzel remains), and were told that the pumpkin pretzel was nowhere in sight. The language used was very evasive. And that could mean one of several things: It sold out. This often happens with new treats, so maybe there was such a run on pumpkin pretzels that they were just all gone. Usually when this happens, though, the cast members will say that it’s sold out and they’ll be getting more in eventually. We weren’t told that. It was pulled from the menu because it wasn’t selling. Hmm…maybe? It was just too ugly. It COULD be that the icing wasn’t sticking properly, it was too difficult to make, or, for whatever reason, it was just too difficult to make it look appealing and they pulled it from the menu to work on presentation issues. Whatever the reason, we really did enjoy the taste of the treat. It had pumpkin spice filling and was yummy for what it was. Here’s hoping it comes back and was just sold out when we were there. Fingers crossed for the Pumpkin Pretzel! And if you want to look at more (mostly much cuter) treats in Disney World, check out our reviews from Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios! 21. It’s a flurry of fun and festive foods happening at Disney’s Hollywood Studios right now! Hollywood Studios Christmas Decor At Disney World, caramel apples are one of our favorite classic snacks (and you can even maybe call it “healthy” ’cause um apple)! We’re still swooning over the adorable new Snowman Caramel Apples we spied in Magic Kingdom, and now we’ve got ANOTHER way to get our “apple a day!” Over at Catalina Eddie’s, the Caramel Apple Verrine is a delish holiday! Man, there are a lot of verrines this year! Catalina Eddie’s Holiday Menu Apple pie filling, caramel, vanilla mousse, chocolate mousse, crispy chocolate pearls, and a white chocolate Mickey and Minnie square are layered together to make one festive snack! Caramel Apple Verrine The Caramel Apple Verrine reminds us of dessert during Christmas dinner with your family. So, it brought back a lot of memories which made us enjoy it even more! The first bite is all caramel, but once you dig all the way down, you get a mouthful of flavors. The chocolate, caramel, and apple filling almost tastes like a candy apple in a cup! The additional layer of the chocolate pearls gives the treat a delicious crunch with every bite too. Caramel Apple Verrine You can get the Caramel Apple Verrine for $4.99 or a Disney Dining Plan snack credit! And, while you’re visiting the park, be sure to follow along with us as we’re LIVE with all the treats in Hollywood Studios! Do you love the combo of apple and caramel? Let’s hear it in the comments! 22. The holidays are in full swing at the Magic Kingdom! Christmas At Magic Kingdom ‘Tis the season to stuff our faces, and the Magic Kingdom is certainly delivering for that! Between the Hot Cocoa Cupcake and the Peppermint Cheesecake, we are THOROUGHLY enjoying these Yuletide treats. Well, now we have another festive dessert to add to our list… The Santa Mickey Waffle Sundae is made with a red velvet waffle, topped with mint-chip ice cream, seasonal sprinkles, chocolate sauce, and peppermint powder. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Mickey Waffles featured in a sundae. This fall, we had the Pumpkin Mickey Waffle Sundae, and Sleepy Hollow has also offered the Mickey and Minnie Waffle Sundae. Santa Mickey Waffle Sundae We thought this one would be a major YUM!! Santa Mickey Waffle Sundae …but, ours was a major BUM! Sadly, our waffle tasted a little burnt and our waffle was pretty darn flimsy. Santa Mickey Waffle Sundae We think we may have just had a rough batch sooo maybe you’ll have better luck then we did! But try it out and let us know what you think! Also, to avoid the soggy waffle situation, maybe try seeing if you can get that ice cream served up on the side! Santa Mickey Waffle Sundae You can give it a try yourself for $7.79 or a Disney Dining Plan snack credit at Sleepy Hollow in Magic Kingdom. 25. When we think of Christmas treats one of the first things that comes to mind is COOKIES! Frosted cookies, chewy cookies, cookie crumbs: we want ’em all! Last year, Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies in the Magic Kingdom had two fun and frosty twists on the Christmas cookie staple, and this year, they’ve returned with a bit of a makeover! Head over to Tomorrowland’s Auntie Gravity’s if you want to have your Christmas cookies and milk all in one! (She’s so efficient, that auntie!) Auntie Gravity’s Holiday Menu Items That’s right: the Christmas Cookie Milkshake spins the classic combo of milk and cookies! This is ALMOST the same as last year’s Cookie Butter Milkshake, but with a few modifications. Christmas Cookie Milkshake This shake has a base of cookie butter soft-serve which last year tasted like straight-up vanilla. Not this year! We really could taste the cookie butter in there! It’s creamy and sweet with the faintest hint of cinnamon — like a soft-serve snickerdoodle. It is a little addictive! Christmas Cookie Milkshake The shake is topped off with ALL THE whipped cream. We’re happy campers because whipped cream is our jam! Whipped Cream! Last year’s shake came with a hunk of green cotton candy, but we’re digging the whipped cream way more! Plus, the Mickey marshmallow straws are still the cutest!! Christmas Cookie Milkshake Next up is the Christmas Cookie Sundae! The presentation has been MAJORLY kicked up a notch from last year! Look at how festively sweet this looks! Christmas Cookie Sundae The same cookie butter soft serve used in the milkshake is the star here. This time, it’s served with a drizzle of chocolate sauce, whipped cream, holiday sprinkles, and a cute white chocolate piece! Christmas Cookie Sundae The ice cream tastes even more cookie-like served simply like this! We LOVED it. The whipped cream and chocolate added some more flavors to the party, and the chocolate piece is always a fun addition to nibble on! Christmas Cookie Sundae You can pick both of these up all day long at Auntie Gravity’s this holiday season! Cookies and milk in one? Yup, of course, we loved these! See the rest of the treats that you can snag DAILY this holiday season here! Will you be tasting either of these cookie butter frosty sweets? Let us know in the comments! Related posts: REVIEW!
