While Disney’s Animal Kingdom is known for the unique dining options at places like Satu’li Canteen and Tiffins, Pizzafari continues to deliver to those that enjoy a good pizza and/or salad while enjoying the beautiful colors and décor we all love at Animal Kingdom. Pizzafari at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Pizzafari also features a Family-Style Dining Option that started last year. Let’s take a deeper look at what this location has to offer! Atmosphere Located at the fork between Africa and Pandora, Pizzafari is full of color as well as unique animal-themed designs. The beauty starts at the very front of the location with a tall entrance that includes a stone tile carving of various animals found throughout the Animal Kingdom. Pizzafari Entrance Once you walk into the restaurant, you are met with a huge splash of color with a collection of murals in the ordering area that gives you plenty to feast your eyes before you feed your stomach. Pizzafari Murals These themes continue into the seating area, where various animal carvings can be found all over. The lights, the pillars throughout the seating area, and even the rafters offer a collection of creatures from the Animal Kingdom. Pizzafari To add to the fun, the seats even have their own critters with various insects painted on the brightly colored chairs throughout the seating area. Seating at Pizzafari Eats The menu at Pizzafari has changed in small ways over the years, but the typical favorites remain with staples like Pepperoni Pizza and Cheese Pizza. A few more unique pizza options are on the menu, including a Shrimp Flatbread and a plant-based Sicilian Style Pizza Slice. All pizzas are served with a side Caesar Salad or Garden Salad. Pizzafari Menu For our ‘za of choice, we went with the Sausage and Pepperoni Pizza for $10.99. This was your typical Disney counter service pizza. There was a LOT of doughy crust and not too much happening in the cheese department. Thankfully the meats on top were plentiful enough, though not as spread out across the pie as we would have liked. Pizza from Pizzafari We also decided to try something on the lighter side and went with a Caesar Salad with Chicken for $9.99. The salad comes tossed with a lighter amount of dressing that was perfect for us, as well as plenty of parmesan cheese. The chicken is grilled and cooked well but for a salad entree, we would have liked a little more to go with our salad! Caesar salad at Pizzafari For dessert, the Lion King cupcake, a favorite at Animal Kingdom, is featured on the menu. Lion King Cupcake at Pizzafari Read our review of the Lion King Cupcake here! We opted for the Cannoli Cake for $4.99 instead. This features a mini cannoli on top of a rich chocolate cake with a thick layer of fudgy ganache on top. We really loved this cake. The cannoli was crispy and the ricotta filling was not too sweet. The cake itself was very moist and full of chocolatey flavor. Dessert option at Pizzafari For those interested in refreshment options, Pizzafari has a limited menu to choose from. We decided to try the Mandarin Orange Lemonade for $4.99. It features classic Minute Maid Lemonade with a hint of Mandarin Orange. They also offer an alcoholic version with a splash of vodka for $11.00. You can also find a small selection of wines and beer, like Safari Amber, on the menu. Mandarin Orange Lemonade While Pizzafari may not be winning any awards in terms of uniqueness, it continues to be a perfect fit for those fighting a pizza craving while at the park. Pizza and Caesar salad from Pizzafari If you’re in the mood for sharing, a pizza and the included side salad can easily be shared between 2, making it a good location for a quick and affordable lunch. Plus, with all the colorful decor and details to look for, it’s worth a trip just to take in the sights at Pizzafari. Will Pizzafari be a place you stop next time you are at the park? On a hot day at Animal Kingdom, we’ll never turn down the chance to cool off at the local watering hole! Animal Kingdom’s Dawa Bar In this case, that watering hole is our ol’ favorite Dawa Bar in the Africa section of the park, and we’re heading there to check out a new, delicious seasonal concoction. After tasting the new Bugs n’ Grubs Cupcake nearby, we were ready for something to wash it down! We’ve got a new drink on the scene with quite the festive name! The newest drink to hit the scene at the Dawa Bar is the Cape Gobbler Cocktail! Cape Gobbler This fabulously fruity drink is made with Snow Leopard Vodka, Cranberry Concentrate, and comes with a Sugar Rim! YUM! Cape Gobbler Speciality Cocktail On first impression, we found the Cape Gobbler Speciality Cocktail to taste like a regular ol’ cranberry and vodka – which is a-okay by us, why mess with a classic?! Cape Gobbler Speciality Cocktail There’s no denying it’s pretty to look at as well, with a sweet sugar rim and eye-catching bright red color! Plus, Dawa Bar is one of our favorite spots to grab a libation because their drinks are often quite strong! This was no exception! Cape Gobbler Speciality Cocktail Overall, if you’re looking to cool off from a day in the park, and are a fan of cranberry and vodka, we think this one will be a winner for you! Plus, that name is fun to say…cape gobbler!! Cape Gobbler Speciality Cocktail The Cape Gobbler Speciality Cocktail can be found at Dawa Bar in Animal Kingdom for $13. Check out more tasty drinks at Dawa bar here! Would you try the Cape Gobbler at Animal Kingdom? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below! Like the Bugs ‘n’ Grub Ice Cream Cone, another bug-covered treat has crawled into Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Restaurantosaurus And today, we’re heading over to Restaurantosaurus at Animal Kingdom to check out a new creepy, crawly (yet sweet!) treat! If you’re ready to rustle up some grub (or, in this case, a very sweet treat), the new Bugs ‘n’ Grub Cupcake is here to satisfy your craving! There’s a lot to unpack in this deliciously sweet pile of dirt, so let’s dig in. Bugs ‘n’ Grub Cupcake The chocolate cupcake comes topped with cookie crumb “dirt” and green tea crumble “moss”, adorned with buttercream grass, as well as a gummy worm, and white chocolate ladybug. Inside the cupcake you’ll find a cookies and cream cheesecake filling. YES, PLEASE! Bugs ‘n’ Grub Cupcake On first impression, we found this cupcake to be really yummy! If you’re a chocolate fan you just might LOVE this, as it’s very heavy on the chocolate flavor. Bugs ‘n’ Grub Cupcake While the inside of the cupcake is creamy, we didn’t find there was a ton of actual cheesecake flavor to it. The cookie crumble “dirt”, on the other hand, was delicious. Our cupcake had minimal green tea crumble “moss”, so we didn’t have too much of that flavor coming through to compete with the cookie crumble! Bugs ‘n’ Grub Cupcake The white chocolate ladybug was an adorable addition to the cupcake, and we are a SUCKER for anything gummy, so we, of course, loved having the gummy worm to finish up the treat! Bugs ‘n’ Grub Cupcake You can try out this delicious treat for yourself for $5.99 or a Disney Dining Plan snack credit at Restaurantosaurus in Animal Kingdom Read all about The Lion King Treats available at the Animal Kingdom here! Christmas is in the near future, so what better place to celebrate than Tomorrowland? New Tomorrowland Sign With the holiday season closing in, we’ve seen tons of holiday decorations appear around the Disney parks. From glitzy garland in Hollywood Studios to the HUGE gingerbread house at Grand Floridian Resort, Disney World is definitely getting ready for the merry mood. Last week we shared the beginning of Tomorrowland Speedway’s transformation for the holidays, and today, we spotted lots more being added at this attraction in Magic Kingdom. Check out these super fun, retro-futuristic trimmings! The whole of the Tomorrowland Speedway track is decked out with spherical lights of different sizes that look both futuristic and festive! Tomorrowland Speedway Decorations There’s some abstract versions of Christmas trees that make it feel like you’re cruising through a fir tree forest of the future. Tomorrowland Speedway Decorations Here’s some more of those giant orbs! We love this fun and unique take on how to decorate for the holidays. They almost look like snowballs at the ready for a giant battle, right? We’re wondering if they’ll light up different colors, or stay white as snow. Tomorrowland Speedway Decorations But don’t worry, the orbs aren’t the only interesting geometric light on the track. Cubes also get some love in this vaguely festive display. Tomorrowland Speedway Decorations There’s also these massive retro star cutouts. These would look awesome on the top of a Christmas tree! Tomorrowland Speedway Decorations Some of the stars can even be seen mid-orbit around the foliage. Tomorrowland Speedway Decorations And then there’s our favorite piece of decor. Check out this retro explosion of lighted baubles! If you love it here, you can totally have it in your house for the low, low price of $86.99 ;-D. Tomorrowland Speedway Decorations Riding Tomorrowland Speedway during the holiday season is sure to be a memorable and fun experience, so don’t miss out! Plus, as cool as the decorations are during the day, we bet it’ll be positively magical at night! Click here to read more about the holiday overlays at some Magic Kingdom attractions! We’re packing up the pumpkins and putting out the holiday trees at Disney Springs! While fall is still my favorite season, I can already feel the contagious holiday magic that makes Walt Disney World Resort even more magical this time of year. Speaking of magic, have you seen the World of Disney store lately? The holiday merchandise has arrived and it’s sure to add some winter to your wonderland. I’m absolutely obsessed with the Yuletide Farmhouse collection featuring buffalo plaid and the Fab Five in their adorable holiday outerwear. Other cute finds? This cute-as-button snowman light-up tumbler and this year’s holiday ears featuring candy cane and gingerbread designs. I’ve been so good this year and have already bought a few presents for friends and family (which is easy to do when all this incredible shopping is right outside your office!) There are always a few folks on my list that are hard to shop for but luckily the Disney Springs Gift Guide just launched and is brimming with gift ideas. This year’s guide is featured on DisneySprings.com and has a new look and feel making navigating and finding that perfect gift that much easier. Gift ideas are sorted into 9 categories including classics like “For Him” and “For the Kids” plus some fun ones like “For the Very Merry” and “For the Disney Fan.” I know I’ll be browsing the “Four Legged Friends” category for my little Dachshund. Of course, this collection of items isn’t everything you can find at Disney Springs but it’s the perfect representation of the variety of gifts you can find on property—you can truly shop for everyone on your list! While you’re out shopping don’t forget to visit the Disney Springs Christmas Tree Trail for your own dose of holiday magic opening this Friday, November 8. Filled with falling snow, holiday music, holly jolly treats, and amazing photo ops—this has become one of my favorite new holiday traditions at Walt Disney World Resort. Keep an eye out for our new tree designs including “Aladdin” and “The Lion King” and themed beverages and entertainment from the new Disney+ film, “Noelle,” including a DJ Dance Party from 7-11 p.m. daily. There’s also festive fun for the little ones: Make your list and visit with Santa Claus November 8-December 24 inside the Christmas Tree Trail open daily from 11 a.m.-11 p.m. (Pro tip: Take advantage of the mobile check-in experience so you can shop and explore while you wait.) We first reported in July about a potential walkway that would finally connect the Grand Floridian to Magic Kingdom directly by foot! Grand Floridian Resort There’s been much a buzz about one of Walt Disney World’s earliest resorts, Grand Floridian, with the recent opening of The Beauty & The Beast inspired lounge, Enchanted Rose, as well as the recent installation of the beloved Gingerbread House. So what’s been going on with that neighboring construction? We’re happy to report that it seems that construction is moving along for the potential walkway. While this resort amenity hasn’t been officially announced by Disney, the company has received a permit for this long-awaited development. On a recent ride in the sky via the Monorail, we spied with our little eyes progress on the potential walkway! Walkway Construction Update Can’t you just imagine a nice leisurely stroll between Polynesian Resort and Grand Floridian with a direct path to Magic Kingdom? It would certainly alleviate some of the traffic experienced at the monorail surrounding fireworks time. We have seen a bit more progress on the bridge and Cast Members seem to be hard at work. View of Skyliner from the Caribbean Beach Station It’s time to take to the skies and dine! Skyliner Pro Tips: how to maximize your ride in the sky! Skyliner Food Tour at Riviera Resort On December 16, 2019, Riviera Resort will be open — and with it, a rooftop table service restaurant, a pool bar, a cafe/wine bar, and a quick service spot! That’s a lot of opportunities for some culinary indulgence. We’re starting our Skyliner Food Tour here — so if you’re gliding along with the Skyliner before the Resort opens, you’ll start at the second stop. (Just think of this as our way of helping you justify doing the Food Tour twice!) Riviera Station Arrival It’s time for breakfast, and there are two locations at Riviera Resort where you can order up our favorite dish from a recent media preview of Riviera’s food: Blueberry-Lemon super fluffy Pancakes! You’ll find these on the menu at Primo Piatto (the Resort’s quick service spot) and at Bar Riva (the Resort’s pool bar). Blueberry-Lemon Pancakes Read more about the Blueberry-Lemon Pancakes here! If you’re embarking on the Food Tour with a partner, consider ordering the Fruit Plate, too, and sharing the two dishes. (You’ll be eating a lot today, after all. Best not to fill up early on!) Fruit Plate Still hungry or want a Skyliner snack? Stop into Le Petit Cafe on your way back to the station. You can order up a specialty coffee or pick up a French pastry, like these Lemon Madeleines! These would be great to pack away for a mid-day snack! Lemon Madeleines Skyliner Food Tour at Epcot’s World Showcase From Riviera Resort (or as the first stop on your tour if you’re voyaging before Riviera opens), head to Epcot. Epcot’s Skyliner station sails into the International Gateway and (as far as we’re concerned) directly to Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie in the France Pavilion. Here you’ll order your next dish: something savory or something sweet — you really can’t go wrong. We love the flaky Croissant Sale with eggs, ham, and cheese. Croissant Salé Read our full review of the Croissant Sale right here! Or order the equally flaky but markedly sweeter Frangipane. This and a cup of hot chocolate or coffee? Mais, oui! Frangipane Read more about why we love the Frangipane here! Continue your Skyliner Food Tour at the United Kingdom Pavilion where you’ll get the first of a couple fried potato dishes on the Tour (sorry not sorry! Carbs keep your endurance up, right?). Yorkshire County Fish Shop serves up thick-cut chips…er, fries that we just can’t quit. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and irresistible with some malt vinegar or ketchup, we say grab a side order, and find a place to munch while you watch some local entertainment! They aren’t sold on the menu as just a side, but if you ask they’ll be happy to serve it up for you! Chips And because the only thing better than French fries is French fries topped with gravy and cheese, the next stop is Refreshment Port, where you’ll order some poutine! Traditional Poutine (French fries topped with brown gravy and cheese curds) is always a solid choice, but you can check out the seasonal varieties, too. During the 2019 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival, Refreshment Port is serving up Duck Confit Poutine and Beef Brisket Poutine in addition to Traditional. Traditional Poutine Check out our review of the Traditional Poutine here! Continue your Tour around World Showcase, and make a stop into Norway’s Kringla Bakeri og Kafe. Here you’ll order the Olaf Fall Cheesecake. This light, lemon-flavored treat first appeared for Easter season in 2019, but it’s stuck around with some small adjustments. Whereas the original came topped with buttercream and chocolate eggs, the current version is decked out with a cheerful looking white chocolate Olaf and fall leaves sprinkles. Either way, the cheesecake itself is mildly sweet and citrusy — and completely delightful. Olaf Fall Cheesecake Check out our full review of the Olaf Fall Cheesecake here! Counteract that sweet treat with something super savory: the Jumbo Pretzel from the Germany Pavilion’s Sommerfest! This pretzel means business. It’s bigger than a large plate, and you’re definitely going to want to share this if you have any hope of surviving the rest of your Skyliner Food Tour! (If you bring along a small storage bag or ask for a to-go bag, you can save your leftovers for later!) Sommerfest Jumbo Pretzel Click here to read more about this monster-sized pretzel! The next item on the Skyliner Food Tour isn’t going to weigh you down, so be sure to stop at the beverage and frozen treats cart in the Italy Pavilion to pick up a Cocktail Pop! These are grown-up ice pops made with flavorful combos like Berry Sangria and Limoncello. We loved the Sparkling Strawberry, and there’s a non-alcoholic Strawberry Popsicle on the menu, too. Whether you choose wine pop or just regular pop, it’s a refreshing treat to enjoy on your way back toward Skyliner. Sparkling Strawberry Wine Popsicle Read more about the boozy popsicles in the Italy Pavilion here! Still hot by the time you make it back around to the France Pavilion again (it is warm most of the year in Florida, after all!)? Merci for L’Artisan des Glaces! We’re partial to… well, everything on the menu, but the Macaron Ice Cream Sandwich (seen below in its pumpkin spice form) is a classy way to have your ice cream and eat it, too! Pumpkin Spice Macaron Ice Cream Sandwich Check out our early review of the tasty Macaron Ice Cream Sammies here! Skyliner Food Tour at Art of Animation and Pop Century Resorts It’s time to leave Epcot, and you’re going to need some time to digest. Climb into a gondola at International Gateway and make the 9-10 minute journey back to Riviera Resort. Stay onboard and complete the 2-3 minute journey to Skyliner’s hub at Caribbean Beach Resort. Transfer to the Art of Animation and Pop Century line for a five-minute journey to the Resorts’ shared station. Art of Animation and Pop Century Skyliner Station From here, head to Pop Century for Everything Pop‘s famous Tie-Dye Cheesecake. We know: so. much. food coloring. But it’s tasty, it’s fun, and it’s only found here. Plus the combination of cheesecake and red velvet cake base is A+. Disney’s Pop Century Resort Tie Dye Cheesecake Read more about this tasty explosion of color here! Over in Art of Animation’s Landscape of Flavors, you’ll want to check the pastry case for the Confetti Cupcake. It’s a simple and colorful treat that works for kids of all ages! It’s got kind of an odd appearance with that scoop of buttercream, but it’s such a satisfying cupcake. Definitely grab one of these if you’ve got a sweet tooth that needs satisfying! Confetti Cupcake Read more about the Confetti Cupcake by clicking here! Yearning for something savory? Landscape of Flavors has a great Surf and Surf Burger that, when it’s on the menu, will satisfy your hunger for something salty. Or go for some classic Chicken Nuggets. (We won’t judge; we’re always game for some nuggs!) Surf and Surf Burger Check out why we heart the Surf and Surf Burger here! Skyliner Food Tour at Caribbean Beach Resort It’s time to glide back to Caribbean Beach Resort for one or two bites. If you’re short on time, head to the Resort’s pool bar, Banana Cabana. We rarely meet a cheese dip we don’t love, so you’ll want to order up the Chili Con Queso here. It’s savory and rich, with a base of skirt steak chili that’s sure to hold you over for a while! Chili Con Queso Explore the cheesy goodness of the Chili Con Queso here! Want to sit and eat at a more leisurely pace? Have an Advance Dining Reservation for Sebastian’s Bistro so you can share the Empanada appetizer for crispy pockets of protein… Empanana Sampler …and then double-down on the meat with the Taste of the Caribbean! We loved this trio of proteins served with simple sides! Taste of the Caribbean This is a great way to get a little taste of a LOT of different flavors. Yum! Read our full review of the Taste of the Caribbean by clicking here! Skyliner Food Tour at Disney’s Hollywood Studios The last official stop on the Skyliner Food Tour is Disney’s Hollywood Studios. We’re heading deep into the park for a treat that’ll make you feel like a kid again: Lunch Box Tarts from Woody’s Lunch Box! We’ve loved these grown-up Pop Tarts since we first tried them, and with some seasonal options popping up here and there, the Lunch Box Tarts are still a must-get! Lunch Box Tarts Learn more about the Lunch Box Tarts here! But Woody’s also turning out another must: Totchos. These are nacho toppings (chili, cheese) on top of tater tots. They’re super indulgent and super delicious. Just dig in, and don’t question it. Totchos (FYI the totchos here are baked, not fried. So HEALTH CONSCIOUS!) Read more about why we love Totchos here! Another savory bite is a short journey to a galaxy far, far away: Ronto Roasters in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge! The Ronto Wrap is this quick service window’s signature dish consisting of a pork sausage, roasted pork, a seriously yummy peppercorn sauce, and crunchy slaw. It’s a hand-held sandwich on a pita, so you can carry it to your next destination! Ronto Wrap Read our review of the Ronto Wrap by clicking here! Thankfully that destination isn’t very far away, either: it’s Epic Eats (formerly Oasis Canteen)! And you know what that means: it’s funnel cake time! We suggest the Cookies and Cream Funnel Cake topped with soft-serve ice cream, chocolate sauce, powdered sugar, Oreo cookies, and Oreo cookie crumbles. But if you want to go for the Strawberry Topping Funnel Cake, we’re okay with it. Cookies & Cream Funnel Cake Click here to drool over the Cookies and Cream Funnel Cake with us! Skyliner Food Tour at Riviera Resort (Again) There’s a good chance you’ll be too full to fit in another bite at this point, but on the chance that you’re feeling hunger pangs, we suggest a second stop at Riviera Resort. Topolino’s Terrace — Flavors of the Riviera promises to be a celebration of the flavors of Italy and France, with many imported ingredients and regional specialties. We can’t wait to give the Burrata con Pana a try. It’s served with shaved black winter truffle and crispy seed lavosh bread. Burrata Topolino’s will be making fresh pasta on-site, and they’ve promised Shrimp Scampi that diners won’t want to miss. We think it’s the perfect dish to end an exceptional day of food. The Art of Inspiration Video Screenshot ©Disney And Topolino’s Terrace is serving up one more exceptional offering: stunning views! Peep the nighttime show at Epcot just beyond the tower of the Resort itself, or enjoy views of Hollywood Studios’ show from another vantage point.
