“Life’s full of tough choices, isn’t it?” Today’s tough choice led us right to Disney’s All-Star Music! All-Star Music The sweet focus of most Disney bakery cases right now may be Frozen 2, but we’re HERE for our baddies getting some love too! Earlier this year, we found a delicious Ursula cake at the Contempo Cafe for Villaintine’s Day so we were WAY excited to try this new cupcake we spotted at All-Star Music Resort! Did it match up? The Sea Witch has resurfaced once again, this time in the form of a cupcake. The Ursula Cupcake has made her grand entrance at the Intermission Food Court at Disney’s All-Star Music. Ursula Cupcake The chocolate cupcake is topped with rich purple vanilla buttercream, and the tentacles are made of fondant (ours had 4 rather than the octopus-y standard 8!). It’s garnished with a drop of light gray buttercream representin’ Ursula’s stylish ‘do, and a yellow white chocolate shell, just like the one on Ursula’s neck! Ursula Cupcake Don’t be discouraged by the spooky exterior, this cupcake was deceivingly simple on the inside, for all you purists out there. The cupcake was perfectly moist, and we found the vanilla buttercream to bring just the right level of sweetness. Ursula Cupcake We passed on eating all of our fondant tentacles — they’re pretty, not so much tasty. But the shell was a sweet bite we enjoyed! One thought crystallizes like an icy blast — sort of like how we’ve been thinking of all the Frozen 2 treats we’ve seen in Disney World! A Still from Frozen 2 ©Disney Although we’ve already spotted treats like the Caramel Mousse and Olaf’s Fall Cheesecake, we’re ready to let (our diets) go and have another Frozen treat! The Frozen Fractals Cupcake has spiraled into the End Zone Food Court at All-Star Sports Resort! Frozen Fractals Cupcake The funfetti cupcake has blue sprinkles throughout the cake and blue buttercream with sprinkles and edible glitter on top. A white chocolate disc featuring Elsa and the Nokk finishes the design. The Pretty Frozen Fractals Cupcake Decorations While we looove funfetti cake, the only other real component of the Frozen Fractals Cupcake was the blue buttercream. The white chocolate disc and sprinkles added a crunch to all that frosting, but there was no filling in the center. Even though it was tasty and pretty, we felt like it was lacking in comparison to the other Frozen 2 treats, like the Hidden Truth Cupcake. O Christmas tree, how lovely (and tasty) are thy branches! Christmas Tree The holidays are in full seasonal swing in Disney World! We’ve already spotted the Peppermint Cheesecake and the Hot Chocolate Cupcake at the Disney resorts. And, now we’re back for even MORE merry treats! The Christmas Tree Dome Cake is hauling out the holly at the End Zone Food Court at the All-Stars Sports Resort! Christmas Tree Dome Cake The dome cake is filled with cherry mascarpone (!!!) mousse, while the waffle cone tree on top is covered with green buttercream, complete with little colored lights. Christmas Tree Dome Cake The cherry mascarpone had a delicious balance of creamy, mild cheese and sweet cherries with every bite. The cocoa butter surrounding the dome cake as a glue for the “snow” also gave it a slight chocolate flavor. And we LOVE chocolate and cherries together, so naturally, this was fabulous! Cherry Mascarpone The waffle cone added a nice crunch to the mascarpone, complete with that famous sweet Disney buttercream that we love. After eating this treat, we couldn’t help but feel more in the holiday spirit! Chestnuts roasting on an open fire paired with a delicious drink? Hot Cocoa Yup, it’s Christmas, folks! And, while we’ve spotted the Peppermint Cheesecake at the Disney resorts already, another holiday treat is already brewing up in Disney World! The Hot Chocolate Cupcake is fulfilling all our cocoa dreams at End Zone Food Court in the All-Star Sports Resort! Hot Chocolate Cupcake The chocolate cupcake is topped with rich chocolate frosting, candy cane sprinkles, mini marshmallows, and a chocolate “straw.” Hot Chocolate Cupcake This cake was made for all you chocolate lovers out there! The chocolate cake was moist and paired wonderfully with the rich chocolate frosting. The candy cane sprinkles on top were actually peppermint flavored and added a nice crunch compared to the soft marshmallows. While we’re not exactly sure what hot cocoa flavor should be (isn’t it just creamy chocolate?!), the cupcake was still delicious!! Messy and Chocolate-y! There’s a new way to “ride like the wind, Bullseye!” around Disney World… Bus Stop We’ve seen a ton of adorable new character and movie wraps on the Disney buses that take guests around Disney World. You can spot the Sensational Six, the Lion King, and even Figment! Well, the newest in the line up of fun themed bosses is on the road and we caught a glimpse! There’s a Toy Story bus hittin’ the streets and boy, is it a super fun and playful way to get around! Toy Story Bus This new bus wrap features all of our fave toys, including Buzz Lightyear, Slinky Dog, Bullseye, Woody, and Jessie (where’s FORKY?!). Toy Story Bus They’re all on a classic Toy Story blue sky background and the bus is accented by an appropriate and playful looking lime green detailing. We’ve had the hardest time catching pics of this bus! We finally caught it while riding the Skyliner! Toy Story Bus We sure hope we can hitch a ride on the CUTEST of buses sometime soon. The holiday season brings the very best treats to the Happiest Place on Earth, so it’s no surprise that today we spotted one of the first signs of Christmas at the Screen Door General Store at Disney World’s Boardwalk. The parks were taken over with various Halloween-themed Rice Krispie Treats these past few months, so it should come as no surprise new offerings have arrived in a variety of Christmas-y styles! November is here! This means new Sprinkles cupcakes have arrived at Walt Disney World and Disneyland! Sprinkles in Disney Springs We loved last month’s Halloween inspired cupcakes, but we’re feeling extra THANKFUL for what they’re delivering to us this month. You don’t have to wait until Thanksgiving to indulge in this classic dessert, the Pumpkin Pecan Pie Cupcake returns to Sprinkles and is available NOW, but only until November 10th! Say buh-bye to pumpkin and helloooo to peppermint EVERYTHING! Sunset Boulevard Christmas Decorations The Christmas season has just begun and so has the release of ALL the holiday treats. And, we’re ready to grab a blanket, some hot cocoa, and snack on the newest dessert baking up in Disney World! The Peppermint Cheesecake has popped up in Riverside Mill at the Port Orleans Riverside Resort! Peppermint Cheesecake Sign The peppermint cheesecake is topped with chocolate frosting, a sugar candy cane, and snowflake sprinkles. An Oreo crust (!!!) ties the whole dessert together. Peppermint Cheesecake The cheesecake on this might be a Christmas gift in and of itself. It’s smooth and creamy with a just-right minty flavor to it that’s not overwhelming. It seriously reminds us of a candy cane!! Peppermint Cheesecake and Oreo Crust The Oreo crust adds a delicious crunch to the treat on top of the sprinkles and the candy cane. The chocolate frosting is super rich and balances the flavor of the mint without being too heavy. It’s like Christmas in a bite. It’s pretty awesome. Just when you thought the Arendelle Aqua treats had started to disappear, they’re BACK just in time for Frozen 2!! Frozen 2 Display And, although we’ve seen the Frozen-inspired Pumpkin Spice Doughnut Tart and Hidden Truth Cupcake in Disney World, this Arendelle Aqua-colored dessert has a little bit of a crunch! The Arendelle Aqua Mickey Macaron has caught a (snow) drift over to the Roaring Fork at Wilderness Lodge Resort. Arendelle Aqua Mickey Macaron The crisp macaron cookies are layered with a blueberry and lemon filling and drizzled with white icing, snowflake sprinkles, and edible glitter on top! Blueberry and Lemon Filling Although this macaron might be a cookie, don’t be fooled! There’s no cloying sweetness here — the blueberry and lemon filling was TART. And, we LOVED it!! The flavors were refreshing and tangy compared to the other Frozen 2 treats we have tried. The macaron reminded us of the Arendelle Aqua Macaron that we saw in Disneyland with a few similar flavors, but definitely BIGGER! “Take a look in the 5 & 10, glistening once again…” Sunset Boulevard Christmas Decorations Hollywood Studios was an early bird this year when it comes to holiday celebrations. We spotted the first round of Christmas decorations going up over a week ago on Sunset Boulevard in preparation for one of the holiday shows, Sunset Seasons Greetings. Well now, with Halloween squarely past, we’ve spotted even MORE Christmas decorations in the park! We’ve seen holiday merchandise popping up in doses around Disney World recently, and now window shopping in Hollywood Studios just got a LOT more Christmas-y! Holiday Decorations Today we noticed that the windows in the stores on Hollywood Boulevard have gotten a merry update! Check out these massive Minnie ornaments that are decking out the windows in Celebrity 5 & 10 (Just like in the song!). 5 and 10 Holiday Decorations There’s also this cute sign declaring there’s “Snow Place Like Disney World.” We agree! Holiday Decorations Over at Mickey’s of Hollywood, there are a bunch of pretty new window displays to boast all the fun new holiday merchandise. Breakfast all day, errryday! Cinnamon Roll Disney World breakfasts are the BEST, and we especially love their cinnamon rolls. That’s why we were SO excited to see this dessert today! (Um…baked goods on top of baked goods? We’re all over that.) The Cinnamon Roll Cupcake (!!!) has made a sweet arrival into Roaring Fork at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort. Cinnamon Roll Cupcake The cinnamon vanilla cake has a pecan filling, maple buttercream on top, crispy pearls, and a legit cinnamon roll garnish. (YUM!!) Cinnamon Roll Cupcake While the name already sounded delicious, this cupcake is easily one of favorite new treats in Disney World. Yeah, you heard that right!! The cinnamon vanilla cake was moist and tasted like Fall (sigh). The buttercream reminded us of waffles and syrup, which was AH-MAZING. Cinnamon Vanilla Cake and Maple Buttercream The pecan filling had a lovely crunch, and we wish there had been even more. After Hours events at Disney World look like they’re here to stay…for a while at least! Animal Kingdom After Hours We recently announced the return of Disney Villains After Hours, and now we can confirm that two more Disney After Hours events will be extended through May 2020 as well! Disney After Hours events allow guests to enjoy the parks with extended hours and limited capacity. Like…WAY limited capacity. We’re talkin’ “Park all to yo’self” capacity! And now there will be even MORE opportunities to take advantage After Hours into the new year! Disney Villains Afer Hours Disney After Hours will return at both Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Disney’s Magic Kingdom for select nights through May 2020. Enjoy typically lower wait times and complimentary delicious treats as these parks stay open an additional three hours! After Hours in Magic Kingdom Disney After Hours at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is your chance to have the park (practically) all to yourself! Guests can take advantage of short lines on popular rides like Avatar Flight of Passage, Na’vi River Journey, DINOSAUR, and much more. An after hours viewing of Rivers of Light is also available during the event! Ice cream novelties, popcorn, and select bottled beverages are included with admission. Select dining options will also be available for an additional cost around the park. Wait times at Animal Kingdom After Hours Disney After Hours at Disney’s Magic Kingdom gives guests exclusive access to over 25 attractions. Guests can enjoy VERY short wait times for Peter Pan’s Flight, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and MORE. That’s why there are hidden nods to the Frozen and “it’s a small world” characters this year on the display. Plant-Based Gingerbread Loaf While we were admiring all the cookies available, we spotted the 10th Anniversary Cookie Box with Jeff Barnes’s favorite treats inside for $14! 10th Anniversary Cookie Box There are 4 treats inside ready to be unwrapped and eaten! 10th Anniversary Cookie Box The Chocolate Peppermint Cookie… Chocolate Peppermint Cookie …Gingerbread Boy Cookie… Gingerbread Boy Cookie …Linzer Cookie… Linzer Cookie …and Chocolate Chip Pecan Cookie each came with a tag listed their ingredients and allergy warnings. Chocolate Chip Pecan Cookie We even got our box signed by the pastry chef himself! 10th Anniversary Cookie Box The Gingerbread Boy Cookie comes with an iced smile and button that melts our hearts! Gingerbread Boy Cookie Although the chef said that the gingerbread was sweet like “American gingerbread,” there was much more of a spicy, gingery flavor. We couldn’t help but think it would go perfectly with some milk or hot chocolate. Gingerbread Boy Cookie The Chocolate Peppermint Cookie has a chocolate drizzle and crushed peppermint candy on top and chocolate chips baked inside. Chocolate Peppermint Cookie We definitely understand why the Chocolate Peppermint was Jeff Barnes’s favorite! The chocolate cookie was soft and chewy. Each bite was packed with peppermint flavor and had a crunch from the peppermint candies. Seriously, we could eat a whole plate of these bbs! Chocolate Peppermint Cookie The Linzer Cookie has a cut out of Mickey’s head, filled with raspberry jam, and is topped with powdered sugar. (ADORBS!!) Linzer Cookie The Linzer Cookie has a slightly sweet flavor that is somewhat similar to shortbread but much more buttery. The sweetness of the treat comes from the raspberry filling, which is also slightly tart. It was INCREDIBLE! Linzer Cookie The Chocolate Chip Pecan Cookie reminds us of our favorite homemade cookies with chocolate chips and pecans baked inside and salt sprinkled over the top. Chocolate Chip Pecan Cookie The Chocolate Chip Pecan Cookie was a simple, yet fantastic treat. The salt added a tasty twist on the sweet chocolate. While the cookie was nice and chewy, the nuts gave a final crunch to each bite. Chocolate Chip Pecan Cookie We thought that they were all WONDERFUL, but our favorite just happened to be the Chocolate Peppermint. Christmas Cookies While we were eating our treats, we just loved looking at that beautiful Gingerbread Castle. The Aguirre family from McAllen, TX were announced today on Good Morning America as the first ever Disney and Points of Light Volunteer Family of the Year! The Aguirres were surprised live on-air with a special visit from Mickey Mouse and GMA’s Will Reeve who invited them to a weeklong vacation at Walt Disney World Resort, where they will be the guests of honor at a super celebration for Family Volunteer Day. Plus, they will receive $10,000 for the organization that nominated them, San Juan Diego Catholic Regional High School and a surprise additional $10,000 for their own nonprofit, Emily’s Meals. The Aguirres, parents Coni and Rick with daughters Emily and Erica, started their volunteer journey four years ago when a then six-year-old Emily saw a homeless person for the first time and asked her parents how they could help. That question prompted the family to create Emily’s Meals,which now provides food to 40 homeless people every day. You can hear more about the Aguirre family’s volunteer work here. Disney and Points of Light, a global nonprofit dedicated to accelerating people-powered change, teamed up to celebrate thepower of family volunteering by launching the search for the Volunteer Family of the Year in May. After submissions from nonprofit organizations all around the country, the Aguirres, along with four other finalist families; the Orlandos, the Bell-Wallaces, the Jeevanayagams and the Nepolas, were featured on Good Morning America ahead on an online vote to find the winner. Today the other finalist families were surprised with the news that Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products Bob Chapek was so impressed with their volunteer work, he was inviting them all to Walt Disney World Resort too! In addition, Disney is also giving each of the families’ organizations $5,000 to continue their important work. All five families will join Disney parks and resorts around the world in celebrating Family Volunteer Day, a global day of service that recognizes the power of families working together to support their communities, on November 23. We announced earlier this year that Epcot’s Liberty Inn in the American Adventure Pavilion would be closing to make way for a new fast-casual BBQ and craft brews experience. American Adventure Pavilion at Epcot Today, Disney has shared the news that Regal Eagle Smokehouse: Craft Drafts & Barbecue will be coming to Epcot this WINTER and released a first look at several menu items. The menu is set to feature classic American backyard barbecue as well as a variety of home-style craft brews. Featured on the menu will be a variety of sandwiches and platters as well as a plant-based option. The first sandwiches revealed will be a sliced Texas beef brisket sandwich with house-made spicy mop sauce on garlic toast and a South Carolina smoked sausage sandwich with tangy mustard sauce and caramelized onions. First look of Regal Eagle Smokehouse ©Disney A variety of barbecue platter options will be available including a North Carolina chopped smoked pork butt, Kansas City smoked chicken, and Memphis dry-rub pork ribs, each of which will also be available a la carte. Burger options include a Grilled Burger topped with BBQ pork and a fried onion ring (on more garlic toast!) or a Plant-Based BBQ burger featuring a plant-based patty topped with BBQ jackfruit served on vegan garlic toast. Side options will include a variety of barbecue standards like french fries, beer-battered onion rings, mac and cheese, baked beans with burnt ends, house-made pickles, and creamy slaw. Options will include a BBQ rib platter, burger, BBQ chicken salad, BBQ chicken leg, or chicken salad, all served with your choice of two sides. Dessert options will include American classics like banana pudding and a s’mores brownie as well as a cup of fresh watermelon garnished with torn mint. The beverage department will be focused on all American brands, including a selection of beer and cider from around the country, wines from the west coast, and specialty regional cocktails (available with and without alcohol). We’re excited to try the Tennessee Lemonade Cocktail and the non-alcoholic Berry Sparkler. You’ll be able to enjoy this amazing lineup of food and beverages from an outdoor bar as well as additional outdoor seating. Winter can’t come soon enough! It’s been so well received that it’s now a permanent offering! Disney PhotoPass photographers are roaming Batuu and ready to offer even more creative ways to capture your Star Wars adventure at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, including two more Super Zoom Magic Shots. Visit Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge near First Order Cargo, where a Disney PhotoPass photographer can capture a Super Zoom Magic Shot of you surrounded by the beauty of Batuu, as well as next to Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo, where you’ll be in frame with the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy, the Millennium Falcon. We’re always looking for even more ways to capture creative memories during your visit, so you can expect more Super Zoom Magic Shots to roll out across Walt Disney World Resort in the future. To those with Memory Maker or Memory Maker One Day, I bring even better news: These photos and videos are included with your entitlement!* So all you have to do is smile then share. While the videos are available to download and share exclusively by those with Memory Maker or Memory Maker One Day, if you don’t have one of these entitlements, you can still view the videos in your Disney account until they expire and purchase downloads of the photos for $16.95 each at Disneyworld.com/PhotoPass.
