  2. Disney Parks around the world celebrated Family Volunteer Day on Nov. 23 with fun events to shine the spotlight on volunteering and helping others. At Walt Disney World Resort, a huge celebration at Disney Springs featured Mickey Mouse and friends, hundreds of Disney VoluntEARs and special guests of honor, the Aguirre family, who were named the Disney and Points of Light Volunteer Family of the Year earlier this month. Also on hand to celebrate Family Volunteer Day, Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, Bob Chapek spoke about the power of volunteerism and the ability for one person, or one family, to make a difference in their community and help change the world. “That’s why each year, our cast members dedicate hundreds of thousands of volunteer hours and why today, at Disney sites around the world, cast and guests are participating in volunteer activities as part of Family Volunteer Day,” Chapek said. Be sure to tune into Good Morning America this Friday, Nov. 29 to see how the Aguirres and the four runner-up families celebrated Family Volunteer Day and their fun-filled time at Walt Disney World. At Disneyland Resort in Southern California, guests at Disney California Adventure park participated in projects to help local education groups while Disney VoluntEARS from Walt Disney Imagineering lent a hand at the OC Food Bank in Orange County, CA. Around the globe, Disney cast members and families joined Disney VoluntEARS projects in Tokyo, Disneyland Paris, and Aulani, A Resort and Spa in Ko Olina, Hawai’i. In 2018, Disney Parks, Experiences and Products along with Points of Light launched the Disney Family Volunteering Reward Program awarding Disney Parks tickets to eligible schools and nonprofits for hosting family-friendly volunteer events. Since then, more than 700,000 families have volunteered and more than 8,500 nonprofits and schools have participated in the program. All this hard work amounted to more than three million hours of family volunteer service across the U.S. To learn more about how you and your family can get involved in family volunteering, visit Points of Light to find a project you can join or tips on how you can create one yourself. Eligible nonprofits and schools in the U.S. can join the Disney Family Volunteering Reward Program and earn Disney Parks tickets by hosting family volunteer events. View the full article

  4. This week Disney Parks Moms Panelist Rayna shares why there is no place more magical for her family during the holidays than the Walt Disney World Resort. Besides Christmas being her favorite time of the year, Rayna lives for the amazing smiles that light up her children’s faces as they enjoy the magic of season, watch the snow fall on Main Street, U.S.A., sip hot cocoa while meeting their favorite Disney characters, and get to visit with jolly ol’ St. Nick himself at the most Magical Place on Earth! If you are preparing to visit the Walt Disney World Resort, here are some of Rayna’s top tips and suggestions: “When you visit with the littles, it is most important to remember just two things. One … have fun! Two … relax! To make our holiday trip relaxing, we always stay on property. Everything is more convenient, and it lets us immerse ourselves in the spirit of the holidays at the Resorts. Our favorite Resort hotel is Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. Every year, we take a picture in front of the magnificent Christmas tree at Jambo House. If we’re lucky, we visit with a certain jolly old elf who makes surprise appearances during the holidays! The tree is a real reminder of our family’s most special moments. Another favorite option is staying at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, which is a five-minute walk to Magic Kingdom Park, all decked out for the holidays. This totally amps up momma’s yuletide cheer! With babies, partners, work and just LIFE, sometimes all we need is the holidays handled for us. Well, guess what? Walt Disney World takes all of the work out of the holidays! The decorations are Insta-worthy (the life-sized Gingerbread house at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is uh-mazing), the Christmas meal is cooked (to perfection, I might add), and the best gifts of all are within arm’s reach. While the most important gift is time spent together, there is still a bit of room for magic under the tree. My husband and I enlist the help of Mickey Mouse & Friends to make sure our Resort Villa is as festive as the rest of the Resort. Disney Floral & Gifts will decorate your room with holiday pixie dust, and they have the most darling mini Christmas trees, complete with decorations. Once the tree is up, our babes rest easy with the knowledge that Santa knows where to stop! Speaking of Santa, you can find him at American Adventure in Epcot along with Mrs. Claus during Epcot International Festival of the Holidays. This festival is a foodie’s dream come true! We love sampling delicious global cuisine while experiencing different cultures’ holiday celebrations. One of our top stops last year was at the Feast of the Three Kings. We indulged in Three Kings Bread while we listened to Holiday Storytellers explain the tradition of prepping for a visit from the Kings. My kindergartener lit up when she heard that children would place a shoebox at the end of their beds, awaiting a special gift from the Kings. She proudly announced that it was just like us putting our stockings at the ends of our beds! Her realizing that little kids around the world celebrate Christmas just like her, was my favorite Christmas gift. While presents and stockings and cookies abound, the most magical part of a Disney holiday is the joyous feeling that is present. As I watch my children delight in the Toy Soldiers during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, or run into Holiday Goofy’s arms, I can’t help but feel that Walt Disney World truly is the Most Magical Place on Earth during the most Wonderful Time of the Year.” To learn more about planning your Disney holiday vacation, or for general Disney vacation planning questions, visit DisneyParksMomsPanel.com for an answer from one of our panelists. 7. Earlier this month, Walt Disney Imagineers and Magic Kingdom Park cast members celebrated a milestone in the construction of the TRON Lightcycle / Run attraction, when the final piece of the attraction’s ride track was lowered into place. TRON Lightcycle / Run is a coaster-style attraction that will allow riders to board a train of two-wheeled Lightcycles for a thrilling race through the digital frontier. A similar attraction exists at Shanghai Disneyland, where it opened in 2016, and became an instant guest-favorite. Our friends at Walt Disney Imagineering just shared this video with us, which offers an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at how the Tomorrowland attraction is coming together. TRON Lightcycle / Run is set to open at Magic Kingdom Park in time for Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary in 2021. View the full article

  9. Is there anything better than finding that perfect souvenir? From the latest Minnie Mouse ear headbands, trading pins, or unique Coca Cola bottles from Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Walt Disney World Resort has something for everyone on your list. Beyond the traditional items, there are some pretty unique souvenirs that can take your Disney vacation to the next level. My favorite must-do when visiting Walt Disney World is taking a trip around World Showcase at Epcot. Now, your trip around the world can serve as a fun takeaway when you visit the Kidcot Fun Stops presented by Ziploc. Not only is the “suitcase” an exclusive item to Walt Disney World, it‌ will also come in handy holding all of the goodies you collect around World Showcase, like stamps and other crafts. While we’re visiting Epcot, let’s head to France! After you’ve enjoyed a macaroon and taken a picture in front of the Eiffel Tower, be sure to visit La Signature for a custom engraved bottle of your favorite perfume. You can add a little more magic to your souvenir by adding a customized message to your favorite scent. And before you leave, don’t forget to grab your passport stamp! Now let’s take a quick step back into the early years of the 20th century. If you’re searching for a special way to commemorate your family vacation to Walt Disney World, look no further than the silhouettes on Main Street, U.S.A in Magic Kingdom Park. As you make your way towards Cinderella Castle, you can find these unique portraits on the quaint side street just past Uptown Jewelers. Next Stop, Disney’s Animal Kingdom! What better way to put some spring in your step than with an icy and delicious Lion’s Latte from Joffrey’s Coffee? This specialty beverage features a decadent blend of espresso, white chocolate, and coconut and is available at the Royal Anandapur Tea Company in Asia at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. And, for coffee aficionados like me, be sure to stop by Joffrey’s Disney Springs location to check out the 26 different blends developed exclusively for Disney-including the Tusker House blend. As you sip your refreshing coffee and wander through the streets of Harambe, you may get lucky and see a cast member by Mombasa Marketplace creating intricate wood carvings. You can get any number of hand-carved animals, a beautiful walking stick, or a Hakuna Matata sign. Did you know you can go fishing at Walt Disney World Resort? Relaxing on a boat in the early morning with views of Cinderella Castle in the distance is about as magical as it gets. And after you’ve caught your big catch, you’ll receive a goody bag full of fun fishing items, including a special button to remember the experience forever! I’d love to know what your favorite lesser-known souvenir is. Let me know in the comments below! View the full article

Whether you’re at the park or at home, you can enjoy tunes from the new movie with the “Frozen 2” Official Playlist, a special Apple Musicplaylist within the Play Disney Parks app! Why was Elsa born with magical powers? The answer is calling her and threatening her kingdom. Together with Anna, Kristoff, Olaf and Sven, she’ll set out on a dangerous but remarkable journey. In “Frozen,” Elsa feared her powers were too much for the world. In “Frozen 2,” she must hope they are enough. Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Frozen 2” is now open! View the full article
