  1. Thanksgiving is over and now we’re one step closer to Christmas! This means it’s time for the 2019 Epcot International Festival of the Holidays! Bavaria Holiday Kitchen 2019 Tucked away in the Germany Pavilion at Epcot’s World Showcase, the Bavaria Holiday Kitchen is a returning favorite! The Bavaria Holiday Kitchen seeks to celebrate the holidays with a delicious menu of German holiday eats! Bavaria Menu 2019 So let’s take a look at the food! Food Offerings Potato Dumpling First off we have the Potato Dumpling with Mushroom Sauce for $4.50, which is a returning favorite from last year! And we do mean FAVORITE. This dish is smothered in tasty mushroom sauce. You don’t want to miss out on this one! Potato Dumpling with Mushroom Sauce Pork Schnitzel New this year is the Pork Schnitzel with Mushroom Sauce and Spaetzle for $6.25. Now, this new dish actually outranks the potato dumplings as our new favorite at this booth. We’re lovin’ the mushrooms and this is by far the heartiest dish, although that wouldn’t keep us from going back for seconds! Pork Schnitzel with Mushroom Sauce and Spaetzle Cheese Fondue Next up is the DE-LISH Cheese Fondue in a Bread Bowl with Fresh Steamed Baby Vegetables and Marble Potatoes for $8.25. This dish is another returner and you might not be surprised to know that we love this one. Liquid cheese? We’re in! This is definitely as good an option as any to get your cheese fix! Cheese Fondue Black Forest Roulade If you got to go to Festival of the Holidays last year you might remember the super tasty Black Forest Roulade served with Cherry Whipped Cream. CHERRY WHIPPED CREAM. Well, it’s back for $4.25 and just as tasty, so sweet-tooths rejoice! Black Forest Roulade with Cherry Whipped Cream Linzer Cookie AND there’s a new dessert this year. The Linzer Cookie has a tasty Raspberry Jam center and is giving us some serious holiday treat vibes. Plus, it’s super tasty and not overly sweet! You can grab this one for $2.50, don’t forget to get a stamp for your Holiday Cookie Stroll! Linzer Cookie Drinks Possmann Pure Hard Apple Cider Moving on to drinks, there are no new options this year but we did see the return of all of our faves from last year! Check out the Possmann Pure Hard Apple Cider! This is a pretty classic cider, sweet and appley with a good amount of flavor! Grab a full cup for $4.50. Possmann Pure Hard Apple Cider Possmann Pure Hard Black Currant Apple Cider For a twist on the more classic Apple Cider, try a cup of the Possmann Pure Hard Black Currant Apple Cider for $4.50. This one has a much deeper color. It’s similar in flavor but there’s a nice hint of black currant in there too! Possmann Pure Hard Black Currant Apple Cider Schöfferhofer Pomegranate Hefeweizen We’re also big fans of the Schöfferhofer Pomegranate Hefeweizen! This is definitely our favorite of the drink offerings at Bavaria Holiday Kitchen. For $4.50, it’s got the right mix of fruity and dry making for a super unique and tasty sip. Pomegranate Beer Cider Flight Aaaaand if you can’t choose between those three fruity options, opt for the Cider Flight to sample all three! It’s priced at $9.50. Cider Flight Regional Riesling and Glühwein There are a few other drink samplings as well. It is Germany after all! For those who like white wine, the Regional Riesling is a good option for $6.00. Or, you can have the Glühwein which is House-made Hot Spiced Wine for $9.00 that will be super tasty on those cooler December days (if we get any)! 2. We’ve been hanging out in Epcot ALL DAY so we could eat our way around the world with the 2019 Epcot International Festival of the Holidays! Spaceship Earth But as many of you may know, this festival isn’t the only thing that’s happening around Epcot. It also happens to be experiencing a MAJOR transformation. And, as part of this transformation, Disney is making a few updates the Circle-Vision 360° film in Epcot’s Canada Pavilion. “O Canada!” closed for refurbishment back in August and for months Cast Members have been working to add new footage and an upgraded projection system. Also back in August at D23, we learned that the new version of the film would be known as Canada Far and Wide. Canada Far and Wide ©Disney This new show is set to open in January 2020 and recently Disney added new COMING SOON signage to the Canada Pavilion. Canada Far and Wide Eek it’s getting close! We’re excited to check out the new journey that Disney is going to take us on with this film. Are you excited for this new film? Let us know in the comments below! 3. The most wonderful time of the year is here! That’s right, we’re talking about the Epcot International Festival of the Holidays! Prost! Booth The most festive festival at Epcot has started, and it’s filled with delicious eats, festive entertainment, and performances! But, let’s focus a little more on the food and drink. As is holiday tradition, we must eat, drink, and be merry for the season and the Prost! Holiday Kitchen located in the Germany Pavilion is really good at helping you achieve one of those things (hint: the drinking!) The moment we spotted the menu preview for Prost! we were excited to see some new beverage options, as well as returning favorites. There are 6 beers in all and they can be purchased individually or in 2 separate flights as well (Go with the flights — totally our recommended way of tackling this booth like a champ!) Luckily for returning Festival of the Holiday fans, they broke the flights up into what ended up being both NEW and RETURNING flights. Each flight is $9.00 or the beers can be purchased separately for $4.50 each. First up, the returning hits from last year. This flight comes with: M.I.A. Beer Company White Christmas IPA, Doral, FL 3 Daughters Brewing 70 Degree Winter Weizen, St. Petersburg, FL Shipyard Candy Cane Coffee Porter, Clearwater, FL Returning Beer Flight We loved the 70 Degree Winter Weizen (It tied one below for our favorite of the 6 options!) It’s not too hoppy, so if you’re not into that “bite” many beers have, this is a great pick. 3 Daughters Brewing 70 Degree Winter Weizen Not the case with the White Christmas IPA — as is the case with most IPAs this one has a good bit of bitterness to it. M.I.A. Beer Company White Christmas IPA The Candy Candy Coffee Porter was odd to us. It tasted like candy canes, coffee, and beer at the same time! Not necessarily a good or bad thing just a LOT of interesting flavors going on there! Shipyard Candy Cane Coffee Porter Now for the NEW beer flight: Anchor Brewing Christmas Ale, San Francisco, CA Barrel of Monks Brewing Figgy Terno Boca Raton, FL Castle Church Brewing Here I Stand Stout, Orlando, FL New Beer Flight These were some great new additions! First up, Anchor Brewing’s Christmas Ale. This was our other fav beer at the booth! It had just enough of a Christmasy flavor with just enough hoppiness. Anchor Brewing Christmas Ale The Figgy Terno is a Belgian Style Dubbel beer. Dark and not crazy bitter. Barrel of Monks Brewing Figgy Terno The Here I Stand Stout (are you singing “Let it Go” too when you hear this…we are!) was creamy and malty. Overall, Prost! was a truly fun booth for the beer lover in your group that we’d recommend for anyone looking to partake in some festive beverage options! 6. While you might be putting up your Christmas trees, lights, and stockings… Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar …Jock Lindsey’s is switching things up from an adventurer’s paradise to an explosion of holiday cheer in Disney World! Our favorite time of the year is here, and Jock Lindsey’s Hangar HOLIDAY Bar is giving us some major festive vibes with all its decorations and (most importantly) themed menu items! We’re still LOVING the fun decor up for the holidays around Jock’s, and the addition of new eats and sips got us even MORE excited. Holiday Decor in Jock Lindsey’s So let’s dig into some of the BEST treats and sip on the amazing drinks from the holiday menu in Disney Springs for this year! Holiday Menu While there are 9 new menu items for Christmas at Jock Lindsey’s, we’ll be diving into the C9 Light Deviled Eggs, Ugly “Sweeter” Bread, Jingle Bell Pops, Drummer Boy Braised Lamb, and White Christmas Margarita! Holiday Menu Christmas might just be one of those holidays where deviled eggs are a MUST. And, the C9 Light Deviled Eggs look AH-MAZING with their colored egg whites, topped with shrimp and tobiko caviar for $12. C9 Light Deviled Eggs While the deviled eggs taste pretty normal, we still love them! The dyed “lights” are adorable, but they make the eggs a lot harder and chewier than the regular ole’ deviled eggs on the plate. The shrimp is soft and well-seasoned, adding a burst of flavor to the egg. Although we think these are pretty tasty, they definitely could use more tabiko caviar (it was hiding in there, but just barely!). C9 Light Deviled Eggs I’m pretty sure our moms has an entire collection of ugly Christmas sweaters that would fit right in with the Ugly “Sweeter” Bread. The themed dessert is made with cinnamon smear brioche and egg nog icing, all lit up with holiday light decorations for $10. Ugly “Sweeter” Bread Yeah, so I think we all can agree that this dessert fits its name ’cause it’s not very pretty. But, boy, is it YUMMY! The bread itself is fresh, soft, and warm. Although there is plenty of delicious egg nog icing, the treat isn’t overly sweet or dense. Instead, they taste more like donuts instead of cinnamon brioche rolls. If we could have this ugly sweater all year long, we totally would!! Ugly “Sweeter” Bread Jingle Bell Rock? More like Jingle Bell Pops! The three dark chocolate truffles look like Christmas lights with their crushed peppermint and peppermint syrup dipped in dark chocolate, finished with edible glitter (!!!)… Jingle Bell Pops …and mistletoe… Jingle Bell Pops …Santa’s belt… Jingle Bell Pops …and snowflake decorations for $14. Jingle Bell Pops If you like dark chocolate, this treat is for you, friends! The truffles aren’t very sweet, but they are certainly rich. The hint of peppermint comes through with each bite, but the flavor isn’t super prominent. Instead, it’s more of a dark chocolate lover’s dream (which we are VERY okay with). Jingle Bell Pops The Jingle Bell Pops are pretty dense, but you can get a fourth for $5 extra if you’re craving another! Jingle Bell Pops Pa rum pum pum-pum, the Drummer Boy Braised Lamb with Truffle has arrived! The dish comes with Braised lamb atop Mushroom and Manchego Cheese Arancini, Herb Chimichurri, Chili Peppers Coulis, and Micro Arugula. Drummer Boy Braised Lamb We never thought that braised lamb could taste SO GOOD. The Drummer Boy Braised Lamb is quite possibly one of the tastiest things we’ve EVER had at Disney Springs. The lamb is braised to a slightly crispy point, but it balances wonderfully with crunch from the fried arancini, Manchego, and mushrooms. Drummer Boy Braised Lamb The arancini is an Italian risotto cake filled with the Manchego cheese and mushrooms, but the flavors come through with each bite. The chimichurri and chili peppers coulis underneath the cakes blend everything together very well, making it absolutely delish. Drummer Boy Braised Lamb Drinks are on us ’cause Jock Lindsey’s holiday sips are worth having for a few rounds! And, we’re dreaming of a White Christmas Margarita with its Rumchata, Malibu, Sauza Tequila, lime and white cranberry juices garnished with whole cranberries and a green sugar rim. White Christmas Margarita The White Christmas Margarita is very sweet. Even though we didn’t taste the lime in the drink, the Rum Chata is the more prominent flavor in each sip! We kinda think that the White Christmas doesn’t fit the typical margarita label, since the rim is also sugary. The only tart flavor is from the sour cranberries (which are a really nice touch). Although we think this is a yummy holiday drink, we think it would have been even better with more tequila! Jock Lindsey’s Holiday Decorations Okay, so Jock Lindsey’s might be in our top three stops for Christmas treats this year! We seriously can’t get enough of the sweet and savory eats, treats, and drinks we tried (and will definitely be back for more). If you’re looking to try something new, there’s also these items on the menu too: Holiday Caprese Wreath: vine ripe tomatoes, heirloom cherry tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, basil, and balsamic glaze. Cinnamon Bells: Knob Creek, Fireball, Frangelico, cinnamon simple syrup, and creamer garnished with a gold sugar rim. Santa Hat Mojito: Bacardi, grenadine, mint leaves, simple syrup, lemon-lime foam and a candy cane garnish. Jock’s Holiday Nog: Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Frangelico, Rumchata, vanilla creamer, and red sugar rim Holiday Caprese Wreath ©Disney Don’t those all sound AH-MAZING too?! You can get all the holiday items from Jock Lindsey’s now through January 5th, 2020! Have you tried Jock Lindsey’s holiday eats, treats, and drinks yet? Let us know in the comments below! 7. A sneak peek INSIDE Galaxy’s Edge’s Rise of the Resistance wasn’t the only surprise Disney gave us yesterday! ©Disney And just in case you didn’t tune in to The Wonderful World of Disney’s Magic Holiday Special that aired on ABC last night, we’ll show you some screenshots of it HERE! We’re anxiously counting down the days until Decemeber 20th when Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker finally debuts in theaters! And last night, we at home were treated to some very special b-roll footage of George Lucas along with Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Alec Guinness, and the rest of the gang filming the original Star Wars trilogy! Here’s a still image from one of the scenes they aired — notice how Peter Mayhew is wearing eye makeup, but not his Chewbacca mask! ©Disney And it was wonderful to see Carrie Fischer again, shown here with Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill goofing off between takes! ©Disney It’s so strange to see these guys filming the original Star Wars movies without any clue at how truly iconic they would become! Look at how fresh-faced this young George Lucas is in this clip! He’s just a curly-haired baby — but already has his signature beard! ©Disney But that wasn’t all the behind-the-scenes stuff they showed us! Take a look at some never-before-seen footage of the filming of The Rise of Skywalker! ©Disney And we even got to see Rey training for her epic battle with Kylo Ren! ©Disney Finn was also on hand, looking fierce as he steadied himself to blast down some of the First Order’s TIE Fighters in this scene they filmed for the new movie! ©Disney Are you ready for the end??? Will you be there for the exciting conclusion of Star Wars when it comes out on December 20th? Let us know if you’re excited to see The Rise of Skywalker in the comments section! 8. Hey, all of you lucky folks heading off to Disney World next week — we’ve got some big news for you that might affect your holiday vacation plans! Mad Tea Party at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party As much as we hate to be the bearer of bad news, we know you could be in for a MAJOR bummer if your trip itinerary has you visiting the Magic Kingdom on Monday, December 2nd! So what’s all this December 2nd noise all about? It has to do with the significantly shorter park hours that the Magic Kingdom has posted online. If you’ll notice below, according to Disney World’s website, the Magic Kingdom will only be open from 8 AM to 4:30 PM. Yes friends, 4:30 PM! ©Disney This is drastically earlier than Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party nights when the park closes to regular park admission guests at 6 PM. We confirmed that Magic Kingdom is closing early for a Cast Member Party — an annual event that Disney World hosts each year to show their appreciation for their hardworking team! Cinderella Castle While we’re so happy the Cast Members will be enjoying the Magic Kingdom all to themselves at this exclusive shindig, we hope this doesn’t mess up any of your plans! Magic Kingdom will still be open until midnight both today and tomorrow, December 30th, while they’ll be closing at 6 PM both Sunday, December 1st and Tuesday, December 3rd for separately-ticketed Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Parties, so start thinking about whether you’ll be altering your course, or not! Were you planning on visiting the Magic Kingdom on Monday? Will you still be heading there, or will you be altering your plans? Let us know in the comments below! 9. Eating our way around the holidays in Epcot has us happily-stuffed! Epcot’s Festival of the Holidays Yup, so far the 2019 Epcot International Festival of the Holidays has given us some awesome eats and some SUPER CUTE festival merch! You can check out EVERYTHING we’ve spotted at this year’s fest today, but right now we’ve gotta talk about the Feast of the Three Kings Booth located over by the World Showcase! The Feast of the Three Kings Booth is themed to celebrate the story of the Magi through Caribbean cuisine and culture! Feast of the Three Kings Booth 2019 Sooooo, let’s check out that menu… Feast of the Three Kings Menu 2019 Food Pastelón First up, Feast of the Three Kings is servin’ up Pastelón — a hearty portion of sofrito-marinated beef with sweet plantains and olives –yum! Plus, this one is gluten-free for those on special diets! This one was definitely our fave item at the booth last year and you can try it out this year for $5! Pastelon: Soffrito-Marinated Beef Queso Fresco-stuffed Arepa There’s also this Queso Fresco-stuffed Arepa for $6 — another returning item from last year, complete with shrimp, crushed avocado aji, and tomato sauce! This is another delicious choice, especially for those who love shrimp. Queso Fresco Stuffed Arepa with Shrimp, Crushed Avocado, Tomatoes Arepas For a similar (but more kiddo-approved version) check out the Queso Fresco-stuffed Arepa for $4.50! It’s the same basic Arepas as the one above, but without “distractions” — just good ol’ melty cheese! Yes, please. Arepas Tres Leches Rice Pudding And another returning hit, Tres Leches and Rice Pudding is back on the menu board at Feast of the Three Kings. The pumpkin seed topping lends some textural contrast to the creamy rice pudding. Chow down on this tasty dessert for $4.25! Tres Leches Rice Pudding Chocolate Crinkle Cookie And fear not, chocolate-lovers! There’s a tasty holiday Chocolate Crinkle Cookie here too for $2.50. We really enjoyed this new addition to this year’s Cookie Stroll — a Christmas tradition we here at DFB observe EVERY holiday season! Chocolate Crinkle Cookie As you can see where it gets its moniker from, the Chocolate Crinkle Cookie is super moist and chocolatey! Just look at all the fudgy-goodness! Chocolate Crinkle Cookie Drinks Coquito Not sure about you, but we need something a little sweet to wash all those rich Carribean flavors down with! We’ll start off with the Feast of the Three Kings’ Coquito! This is a non-alcoholic tropical eggnog drink and we have to say, we think it’s delicious! Sip one yourself for $4.25! Coquito Aaaaand if that Coquito sounded good but you’re looking for a little more kick, then look no further than the spiked version! This is the same tropical eggnog but with a Bacardi Gold Dark Rum floater! Bring on the good times with the Boozy Coquito for $10! Coquito with Rum Floater And for a fruity, lighter option, try out the M.I.A. Beer Company Tres Reyes Mango Golden for $4.50! Overall We love the unique island-flair of The Feast of the Three Kings’ menu. They’re some of the most tropical flavors you’ll find at this year’s Festival of the Holidays! If you’re more into experimenting with non-traditional seasonal eats, be sure to swing by this booth of Caribbean-style holiday delights! And even if you’re not an adventurous eater, still stop by for their KILLER Chocolate Crinkle Cookie! You’d be sorry to miss this one! 10. Hola from the 2019 Epcot International Festival of the Holidays. Las Posadas We’ve been sipping and nibbling around the outdoor kitchens and are back with the Las Posadas booth in the Mexico Pavilion! Las Posadas is a returning festival booth but this year, EVERYTHING at this booth — food and drink — is NEW! Las Posadas First up: THE FOOD! Las Posadas Foods Giant Tostada de Puerco The new Giant Tostada de Puerco for $8.50 features uber tender Braised Pork on a Giant Tostada (flat corn tortilla) with Chipotle Black Bean Spread, Guajillo Sauce, Queso Fresco, Crema Mexicana, Pickled Onion, and topped with Chicharrón Dust. Thanks to the use of corn, this beauty is gluten-free! Giant Tostada de Puerco You can probably tell from how good it looks but this thing is DE-LISH. The shell is nice and crunchy and the bean spread is sooo good. You can’t go wrong with the chicken and red sauce either but the real standout in this dish is those pickled onions. YUM. Tamal de Pollo Next up, the Tamal de Pollo stuffs Braised Chipotle Chicken into a Corn Masa tamale. It’s topped with Yellow Mole and Toasted Pumpkin Seeds, Queso Cotija and Crema Mexicana. This is another gluten-free eat and it’s priced at $6.75! Tamal de Pollo This dish is super good too! The pumpkin seeds give a nice crunch and the queso cotija is packed with flavor. If you’re a fan of tamales, this will likely be a huge hit with you! Horchata Cheesecake For a sweet bite, we picked up the Horchata Cheesecake for $5.00. This is a creamy rice-based cheesecake, like the real drink! It’s topped with Cajeta caramel sauce. Cajeta is Mexican caramel made with goat’s milk. Horchata Cheesecake This one almost looks too good to eat! Almost… trust us, we ate it! Very cinnamony and very pretty, this dessert has the perfect combo of flavors and consistency. The cheesecake is a great choice if you’re looking for something a little different (or if you’re tired of chocolate and peppermint)! Drinks To wash it all down, this booth offers up 3 new holiday drinks this year! Holiday Cider First up, the Holiday Cider. This Hard Apple Cider is mixed with Cinnamon-infused Tequila and priced at $7.00. Pretty cheap for a cocktail! Holiday Cider We’re starting off with our fave drink here! The Holiday Cider is definitely a sleeper hit at the fest. The cinnamon-infused tequila really gives it a kick and gives it a little bit of a festive apple-y marg feel. Mexican Fruit Punch For something a little more tropical, we tried the Mexican Fruit Punch for $12.50. This blends Mezcal, Red Wine, and Blackcurrant Liqueur infused with Star Anise, Cinnamon, Clove, Ginger and Orange Peel. It’s served warm like a Mexican mulled wine! Mexican Fruit Punch This punch is a good choice if you’re a mulled wine fan! It’s warm and yummy. Our one complaint is that the mezcal is kind of understated and it could definitely use some more smokey flavor, but still really good. Horchata Margarita And finally, if you didn’t get enough horchata with your cheesecake, pick up the Horchata Margarita for $11.50, which mixes Tequila, Horchata Rum, Cinnamon Whisky, and Agua de Horchata served on the rocks. Horchata Margarita Ok ok, so it can be really hot in Disney even this time of year, and that heat makes it a little difficult to want to drink something cold and creamy. BUT if you can get past that this is a really tasty drink! It’s sweet and boozy, definitely a festive way to get your sip on. If you love horchata, this could be a great choice. Overall We’re SUPER happy with all the new options at Los Posadas this year. We love the bold flavors in the food and the Mexican twist on classic holiday drinks. We’re definitely glad this booth will be around for the whole festival, we almost wish it could be longer! Check Out All Menus For The 2019 Epcot International Festival of the Holidays! Yukon Holiday Kitchen This year, the Yukon Holiday Kitchen has some new and returning favorites popping up at the booth (and boy, are we excited!). Yukon Holiday Kitchen Menu We couldn’t stay away from that delicious Canadian Wild Rice and Ham Soup that has easily become one of our favorites this year. Canadian Wild Rice and Ham Soup The ham is so soft compared to the crunch from the almonds. We love the great mix of textures in this soup, especially since it’s all tied together with that slightly salty pretzel roll for only $5 (!!!) or a Disney Dining Plan snack credit. Canadian Wild Rice and Ham Soup We’ve been waiting SO LONG for the Cookie Stroll coming to Festival of the Holidays this year. And, the new Peppermint Pinwheel Cookie is definitely worth the wait. Peppermint Pinwheel Cookie The soft cookie is complemented by sprinkles around the sides… Peppermint Pinwheel Cookie …and packed with strong peppermint flavor that is the perfect holiday treat for $2.50. Peppermint Pinwheel Cookie The Seared Verlasso Salmon with Crown maple whisky glaze, parsnip silk, apple chutney, and hazelnut croquant made our Best of the Fest in 2018, and is here again for $6… Seared Salmon with Crown Royal Whiskey Glaze …and the Maple Bûche de Noël (a favorite since 2017!), which is maple mousse wrapped in a gingerbread chiffon cake with cranberry sauce and pecan crumble drizzled on top for $4.50, is back again and we’re so glad! This is a fun, sweet addition to the booth! Maple Buche de Noel The non-alcoholic Frozen Coffee for $4.50 is a great way to give ya some energy to go around the World Showcase… Frozen Coffee …and the Ice Wine Flight (!!!), featuring Inniskillin Riesling, Pearl Vidal, and Gold Oak flavors again this year is just $13. 12. The 2019 Epcot International Festival of the Holidays has FINALLY arrived in Disney World! And to celebrate, we’re bringin’ ya of all of this year’s eats and drinks from each of the booths around the festival. Festival of the Holidays So, we hope you’re ready for some sugary goodies because we’re off to the 2019 Holiday Sweets & Treats Holiday Kitchen! The Holiday Sweets & Treats booth is a great stop to make if you’re looking for a festive drink or a delicious holiday snack! Holiday Sweets & Treats Food Booth Let’s check out the menu first! Holiday Sweets & Treats Menu As you can see, there’s definitely some yummy stuff here! Let’s focus on our chompers first, AND THEN we’ll get our sip on! Food Items Okay, so you like peppermint, and you LOVE ice cream… then you’ll want to check out the Peppermint Sundae Holiday Sweets & Treats is serving up for $5.50! It features chocolate ice cream, whipped cream, topped with bits of crushed up peppermint candy! Peppermint Sundae And how adorable is this Santa Hat Mickey Cookie for $3?!? It’s the Completer Cookie of the Cookie Stroll this year — which means it’s FREE if you finish the stroll, otherwise it’s available for separate purchase! To us, it tasted like a simple, classic sugar cookie, while the milk chocolate dipped ears and a dyed white chocolate Santa hat tasted great! Oh, and red and green sprinkles were delicious, too! Completer Cookie And oddly enough, this location is also serving a hot dog with chips for $9.50. So if you had too much sweet stuff, you can get yo hot dog on! Drinks Now it’s time to scope out this booth’s holiday beverages! New this year is the Chocolate Peppermint Shake! It can be made either Non-Alcoholic for $4.25 or spiked for $11 with Whipped Cream Vodka! We got ours sans booze — and while both versions feature Twinings® Peppermint Cheer Tea, we tasted mostly chocolate in the non-alcoholic one. There was a slight pepperminty aftertaste, though, which we found refreshing! Chocolate Peppermint Shake Here’s a look at the Chocolate Peppermint Shake with Vodka Whipped Cream! Chocolate Peppermint Shake Featuring Twinings® Peppermint Cheer Tea and Whipped Cream Vodka Read our review of the Chocolate Peppermint Shake with Vodka Whipped Cream here! There’s also this returning and very tasty Shipyard Eggnog White Porter for $4.50 from Clearwater, Florida! Shipyard Eggnog White Porter And of course, no Holiday Sweets & Treats booth would be complete without HOT COCOA! You can order yours with booze for $11 or without for $3.50! Cordial options include Baileys Irish Cream, Frangelico Liqueur, or Fireball Cinnamon Whisky! The Baileys is super-yum, FYI! Hot Cocoa with cordial (Baileys) Overall You can’t go wrong with the Holiday Sweets & Treats Booth’s classic Christmastime fare! If you’re looking for those tried-and-true holiday flavors like chocolate and peppermint, this will be one of your favorite places to park your sleigh at the fest! Holiday Sweets and Treats That’s it for this year’s Holiday Sweets & Treats Holiday Kitchen! We’ll be right back with more booth reviews from this year’s Festival of the Holidays! 13. Ni hao from the China pavilion in Epcot! Shanghai Holiday Kitchen We’re eating around the world at the 2019 Epcot International Festival of the Holidays and boy, is it a fun time! Shanghai Booth Fries and Drinks The China pavilion is celebrating the season with a nod to the Lunar New Year, and a great way to celebrate is with food! Check out our full review of the Shanghai Holiday Kitchen booth in the China Pavilion! Shanghai Festival of the Holidays Booth Menu Food Let’s get started with the eats at the booth: Pork and Vegetable Egg Rolls These Pork and Vegetable Egg Rolls are on the menu for $4.25, and are a stick-to-your-ribs option. These are pretty standard, but they do have some flavor. That said, there are better options at the booth. Vegetable Egg Roll cross section Mongolian Beef Bao Bun You might remember the Pixar short “Bao” which is based on the popular Bao bun! Try a Bao bun for yourself filled with yummy Mongolian Beef. This one really is a substantial snack, and the flavors are all there. It’s a good option at this booth, and we’d probably choose it over the egg rolls. Celebration Barbecue Pork For another hearty option, grab the Celebration Barbecue Pork. Again, a LOT of food for your dollar here, and it reminds me of a favorite dish from my childhood — barbecue spare ribs with rice and my Dad’s famous barbecue sauce! Celebration Barbecue Pork This one will go a long way toward filling you up on your way around the world. Chengdu Street Fries And we saved the BEST for LAST! These Chengdu Street Fries are !!! For $5.50 or a DDP snack credit, these were the winner of the booth for us — and MIGHT even be the winner of the festival! Chengdu Spicy Street Fries They’re spicy (not just Disney spicy), and the crunchy peanuts and green onions offer some great flavor and texture — though the fries are nice and crispy on their own. Shanghai Chengdu Spicy Street Fries The sauce is very similar to what you usually get with Pot Stickers, but has some heat to it as well! Welcome to Flavortown! Drinks On to wash it all down! Tsingtao Beer Moving on to the drinks, we’ve got the Tsingtao Beer! This one is very popular state-side and you’ve probably had it before. It’s very light and doesn’t have an overwhelming flavor. Tsingtao Beer Firework Cocktail As for cocktails, the Shanghai Holiday Kitchen has a few! Try out the Firework, a blend of Jose Cuervo Tequila Gold, Vodka, Mango Syrup, Orange Juice, and Soda Water. This one was our favorite of the drinks. It wasn’t too sweet, and the tequila was the most prominent flavor. The mango subtlety was fun! But make sure you stir! Firework Marco Boba Aaaaand for a sweet coffee cocktail, pick up the Marco Boba, an Amaretto, Iced Coffee, Milk and Boba cocktail! The almondy flavor comes through, and it’s a good option if you like iced coffee drinks. We preferred it to the Joffrey’s drinks this year. Marco Boba The Lucky Mo Finally, there’s The Lucky Mo! A tasty combo of Peach Schnapps, Peach Syrup, Orange Juice, Pineapple Juice and Coconut Milk. This one was super sweet AND super peachy. If you’re into fake peach or easy to drink drinks, it’s the one for you. The Lucky Mo Overall Shanghai is a great booth option to FILL UP FAST. Lots of protein and lots of flavor means you’ll be able to keep grabbing those fastpasses late into the night! None of the eats are super high-priced, and we’re pretty sure those street fries are going to be our pick of the festival (we’ll let you know in our Best of the Fest later today)! The drinks are fun and enticing for sure, and the firework is a favorite. Click HERE to see ALL the Festival of the Holidays food booth menus and photos! 14. ‘Tis the season for egg nog, hot chocolate, and those delicious holiday coffee flavors! Joffrey’s Future World East And, while we’re rockin’ around Festival of the Holidays in Epcot, we’ll need all the energy we can get to travel around the World Showcase! That’s why the latest holiday flavors of coffee are like a Christmas Gift themselves! Joffrey’s Coffee is serving up FOUR (!!!) drinks for the 2019 Festival of the Holidays! Joffrey’s Showcase Plaza If you like chocolate a latte, you’ll be ecstatic to spot the Choco-Latte mixed up at the Joffrey’s Coffee East! Choco-Latte Sign The latte is made with Bailey’s and chocolate sauce, all shaken up like an iced hot chocolate. Choco-Latte While we were hoping for a rich cocoa and coffee combo, we have to say that this tasted more like boozy chocolate milk! Although we liked the flavor of it, we think that the coffee could have been a lot stronger to balance the other ingredients. Choco-Latte Close-Up While we love peppermint during the holidays, coconut is one of our FAVES. And, the Coconut Snowstorm has flurried into Joffrey’s (and our hearts) this year! Coconut Snowstorm The latte is mixed with Rum Chata and coconut syrup which creates a creamy Christmas drink! Coconut Snowstorm If you like coconut, you’ll probably LOVE this latte! The strongest flavor is the coconut, which reminds us a lot of toasted coconut treats (macaroons, anyone??). There is just a slight kick of the Rum Chata, but we think the flavor goes wonderfully with all the coconutty goodness! Coconut Snowstorm Close-Up Things have taken a strange turn of events here at the Festival of the Holidays! While we were on the way to try the Ginger Chai Madness at the Joffrey’s World Showplace Booth… Ginger Chai Madness at the Joffrey’s World Showplace Booth …we found out that the booth was closed because of BEES! We’re pretty sure that they want to try all the Festival of Holiday eats and treats as much as we do! ;D Joffrey’s World Showplace Booth Read all about this WILD bee situation here! We’ll keep updating this post with more Joffrey’s Coffee holiday drinks as we grab them! 18. It’s the FIRST DAY of Epcot’s Festival of the Holidays! And you know we’re here and ready to eat and drink EVERYTHING so we can share the details with you! 2019 Festival of the Holidays Passport And as we were just getting started, we ran into a little bit of…difficulty. Our first stops at the festival — since most of the booths don’t open until noon at the Festival of the Holidays — are the Joffrey’s Booths. These refreshing coffee, tea, and treat locations usually have a specialty menu item (or items!) for the Festival, and we’re in the process of reviewing all of them for ya! Joffrey’s drinks at the Festival of the Holidays But when we came to the World Showcase Joffrey’s location, over near Canada and the World Showplace, we were turned away. Apparently this booth wasn’t opening on time! Why? Joffrey’s World Showplace Booth Because BEES. Yep — bees. There were bees swarming around the booth, and the decision was made not to open until that was taken care of. Once again, Florida wildlife proves that Disney isn’t actually a “bubble” at all! We’re sure the location will be open soon — if it’s not already when you’re reading this — to offer that yummy Ginger Chai Madness (Chai Latte with Baileys Irish Cream Liqueur and Gingerbread Syrup). And we’ll be there to review it for you…as soon as we’re allowed! Ginger Chai Madness at the Joffrey’s World Showplace Booth In the meantime, be sure to follow along below as we’re… LIVE From Epcot’s Festival of the Holidays! 19. There are many who have entered the world of yesterday, tomorrow and fantasy inside Disneyland park, but have you taken the time to look closer at Walt’s original Magic Kingdom in detail? How did Disneyland come to be? Well, to those interested in learning more about this happy place, welcome! Let’s take a closer look at the “Walk in Walt’s Disneyland Footsteps” Guided Tour and see how your next visit to the Disneyland Resort could be transformed with this extra magical experience. The “Walk in Walt’s Disneyland Footsteps” Guided Tour is a special tour that explores Walt’s crafting of The Happiest Place on Earth—from his early years during park conception to his final visit. Throughout Disneyland park, the tour stops to reveal special moments from Disneyland’s beginnings, including information about classic attractions. Guests are also able to hear historical fun facts thanks to a special tour headset, which plays archived recordings, including Walt’s opening day speech. On the tour, you will encounter magic at historically significant locations throughout the park. For example, when you walk down Main Street, U.S.A., your guide will explain how Walt’s childhood town inspired the design process for his old-fashioned Main Street. Your guide might even share the significance of the names on the windows above. Each person played an important role in the development of Disneyland, including Disney family members, cast members and Imagineers! You will then hop aboard the Disneyland Railroad, where you’ll learn about Walt’s love for locomotives and how it’s seen throughout the parks today. You’ll also stop by the five-ton petrified tree in Frontierland, where you’ll learn why Walt gave this tree to his wife Lillian! You’ll also hear inspirational stories from Walt’s upbringing in Marceline, Missouri. For example, you will learn about Walt’s early inspirations for Fantasyland. Walt saw the play “Peter Pan” as a young boy and was inspired by the performance. He was so influenced by the story that he created a flight harness so that he could become Peter Pan, always turning his dreams into reality. Later, in a school performance, Walt took the lead role as Peter Pan and used a hoist and tackle to fly! On the tour, you’ll also learn about his 1958 attraction dedicated to Alice in Wonderland, as well as the opening day attraction King Arthur Carrousel with the famous horse “Jingles.” Further along your journey retracing Walt’s footsteps, your guide will whisk you through historic details found inside the plans for the park and will explain how Walt’s persistence towards his goals was made in strides. You will see where Walt experienced many successes, as well as setbacks, leading to the grand opening of Disneyland in 1955. For example, at Central Plaza next to the Partners Statue, you will learn why Walt artistically designed this location to be the central location to the theme park. You’ll also learn how, on opening day – later referred to by some who were there as “Black Sunday” – was just as exciting as it was logistically challenging. If you’ve ever wondered the significance of the Main Street Opera House, then you are in luck! You will browse through the amazing galleries of photos and artwork on the walls, while your guide explains their significance to Walt’s vision for the resort. After a showing of Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln, you will be able to better understand the true meaning of liberty in the eyes of Walt himself. The tour is filled with wonderful surprises along the way, too, including the chance to experience classic attractions that connect with Walt’s very personal vision for the park. For even more magic, you will also take home an impressive collectible pin, alongside your own personalized button! Opening like a small book, the pin includes an inspirational quote from Walt Disney. Here are some things you should know about the “Walk in Walt’s Disneyland Footsteps” Guided Tour: The tour is approximately three-hours long. Depending on the time of day, you will end the tour with a delicious lunch or dinner on Main Street U.S.A., provided for all tour participants by the Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe. Theme park admission for Disneyland park is required to attend the tour. Tour or tour elements are also subject to cancellation without notice due to, and without limitation to, attraction availability, inclement weather or other conditions. For pricing and booking information, call 714-781-TOUR (8687). Also, be sure to check out the other Disneyland Resort Guided Tours at Disneyland.com. *Attractions and entertainment are subject to availability and may change without notice. View the full article
