  2. Christmas came a little early this year, thanks to all the news that Disney has shared today!! Not only have we learned about the opening times for the Star Wars Hotel and Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway. We also had the opportunity to try some of the food coming to the new Regal Eagle Restaurant in Epcot. Canada Far and Wide ©Disney And now we have the scoop on Canada pavilion’s new Circle-Vision film, Canada Far and Wide! While we’ve seen some new signage for Canada Far and Wide going up in Epcot over the last few days, we now know the exact date the new movie will make its debut! Canada Far and Wide You’ll be able to see Canada Far and Wide starting January 17th, 2020! But that’s not all we found out! Canada Far and Wide will feature two new narrators — Catherine O’Hara and Eugene Levy! While we’re currently OBSESSED with Levy’s performance on hit series Schitt’s Creek, we’ll be so excited to see these two actors reunited again — (we LOVE their chemistry together from Christopher Guest’s movies!). No word yet on if O’Canada’s narrator, Martin Short, will make a guest appearance or not, but fingers-crossed! Looking for more Epcot news? Then, be sure to take a look at the ride vehicles coming to Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure when it opens in the summer of 2020. 3. We’re feeling EXTRA patriotic tonight! First look of Regal Eagle Smokehouse, ©Disney That’s because we’ve just had the opportunity to try some of the food coming to the NEW Regal Eagle Smokehouse in Epcot! If you know DFB, you know we love news that we can eat and that’s just what we got! The new quick-service restaurant is set to open THIS MONTH in the American Adventure Pavilion, so we’ve been waiting patiently for a full menu, well we still don’t have a full menu but we’re one step closer with the deets of a bunch of new food items from Regal Eagle. Regal Eagle Construction So, let’s talk about those eats!!!! We started off by trying the Toybox Tomato Salad which is a yummy and refreshing blend of peas, tomatoes, onions, and a basil vinaigrette. Toybox Tomato Salad Next up, we’ve got a vegetarian option. That’s right, a vegetarian option at a Smokehouse! The Vegetarian Braised Greens are a pretty hearty option. Vegetarian Braised Greens Then we tried out the menu item we were most excited for: the Sliced Hardwood Smoked Pork. It IS a Smokehouse so we had big expectations. The pork wasn’t too dry and was ok overall. Note! Disney shared that this dish won’t be served this way when Regal Eagle opens, but it gave us a good idea of what to expect. Sliced Hardwood Smoked Pork Movin’ on…we’ve got a plant-based option! The Smoked Impossible and Quinoa Terrine was pretty good but was a little too smokey. It kinda made us think of the library burning scene on Spaceship Earth! Smoked Impossible and Quinoa Terrine To go with our meal, we had a sampling of three Regal Eagle sauces. We got to try the Honey Mustard Sauce (likely the Tangy Mustard Sauce), the Smokey Barbecue Sauce (maybe the Vinegar-based sauce?), and the Spicy Barbecue Sauce (Spicy Mop Sauce). We’re expecting four housemade sauces in the restaurant, so this gives us a good idea of what we can look forward to. All three were good but our fave was the spicy; it had GREAT flavor and wasn’t too hot. Regal Eagle Sauces And as the perfect side, we had the yummy Roasted Cornbread… Roasted Cornbread …complete with light, and DELICIOUS Whipped Butter. Honestly though, butter on cornbread? You can’t go wrong! Whipped Butter Overall, this sneak peek really filled our stomachs and got us SUPER PUMPED for the opening of Regal Eagle! We’ll keep you posted on a full menu and an opening date so that you can try allll these tasty new offerings for yourself! Disney also shared a new piece of concept art for the new restaurant! Doesn’t this spot look like THE place to be in Epcot? We can’t wait to check it out! Regal Eagle ©Disney Click here for more info on the upcoming Regal Eagle menu! 17. We’re just a few days away from the opening of what promises to be an experience unlike any other! Rise of the Resistance, the flagship attraction for Galaxy’s Edge, is scheduled to open on December 5th in Disney World (January 17th in Disneyland). That’s SO soon, my people! Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disney World For a while, Disney has shared that this will be an attraction unlike any other and friends we’re super ready to check it out! Since this attraction is opening VERY soon, we’d thought we’d share all of the NEED to know information about Rise of the Resistance! Ride Requirements Note that this attraction is not for everyone! There is a height requirement of 40.” Since this is setting up to be one of the most detailed, immersive attractions ever created it will likely feel VERY real, which could possibly cause it to be frightening for some young Jedi’s. And according to Disney, riders under 7 years of age must be accompanied by someone who is 14 years or older. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance ©Disney If you or a person in your party uses a wheelchair or ECV, please note that guests will have to transfer. INSIDE Star Wars Rise of the Resistance! Disney also states that riders should be “free from high blood pressure, heart, back or neck problems, and motion sickness.” And that expectant mothers should not ride. FastPass+ and Single Rider As was the cast with Smuggler’s Run, there will most likely be no FastPass available at the grand opening of Rise of the Resistance; however, single rider may be an option. While the attraction will likely have a lengthy line, the single rider line (if it is open) should be a great option to help you save a bit of time! Entrance to Rise of the Resistance Rise of the Resistance Attraction Details Aside from the logistics of the attraction, there are several key features of the ride itself that are important to know before you decide to ride! **NOTE: SPOILERS AHEAD!** What we know so far is that Rise of the Resistance will feature a lengthy ride time which should be around 18 minutes, there will be 4+ ride systems, and over 300 figures. Your ride vehicle will have two rows of four seats each with their own seat belt. Ride Vehicle for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance There should a pre-show that features BB-8, Rey, and other Star Wars characters. 20. There have been construction barriers up in Liberty Square for quite a while. Liberty Square Well, no longer! That’s because the Liberty Square Market seating is finally complete and open and we have alllllll the pics of the snazzy new seating area! There are a few reasons that we’re super psyched to see this seating area open up! Not only is new seating always welcome in Magic Kingdom, but the construction barriers were causing quite the bottleneck through Liberty Square. Well, that bottleneck is no more! Now crowds can move through a lot easier. Liberty Square Seating The area is outfitted with a bunch of shady tables so eating your grab and go from Liberty Square Market is more comfortable than ever. We like the styling too as it fits in with the more rustic themes in Liberty Square. Liberty Square Seating The birds certainly like the new area as they were allll over! Liberty Square Seating The area also has utensil dispensers… Liberty Square Seating …napkin dispensers, and spare condiments if you need them! Liberty Square Seating Overall, the new area is a great way to sit in style! Plus, we’re pretty glad there’s one less construction area! Click here for more info on construction around Disney World! 21. Disney’s Riviera Resort is almost open! Riviera Resort Construction And while the Disney World hotel gets ready to welcome its first guests on December 16th, we’ve already seen a few sneak peeks of what this luxe, new resort has in store for us! We’ve shared with you a preview of Rivera’s Cast Members’ costumes, a glimpse at some of its food, and even showed you some pictures of the AMAZING Peter Pan mural that was being installed in the resort’s walkway tunnel! Now, Disney is sharing even more information and images of the stunning mosaic artistry you’ll find at Disney’s Riviera. The walkway tunnel heading to and from the resort’s Skyliner station is actually home to TWO gorgeous murals. One of which is the Peter Pan mural we mentioned above and the other is themed after… TANGLED!!! ©Disney Tangled Mural The Tangled mural features one of our favorite scenes from the movie! Just look at all those fabulous floating lanterns lighting up the night sky above the castle! They look just like the ones Rapunzel and Flynn Rider release over the water! ©Disney Tangled Mural And like the Peter Pan mural, the Tangled mural spans the entire archway, surrounding you in the beautiful mosaic tilework as you pass underneath. You can even see Punzie’s tower on the other side of the arch! ©Disney Tangled Mural We can’t wait to see the Peter Pan and Tangled murals in person when the resort opens in less than two weeks! 22. It’s a tale as old as time – now with a twist! France Pavilion in Epcot There’s a lot to come with Epcot’s multi-year transformation, but one new addition is just around the corner! The new Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along is set to debut in January 2020 at the France Pavilion, and today we got to be their guest for a preview of the new show! We’ve been eagerly awaiting the new show, which joins the “Impressions de France” film as part of the France Pavilion’s entertainment! Shrouded in mystery, all we really knew about the Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along prior to the preview was that the show was directed by Don Hahn, who was the producer of BOTH the animated and live-action versions of the beloved Beauty and the Beast films! Just that bit of information was enough to get us all kinds of excited to sing our hearts out to the classic tunes from this 90s Ren fave! Beauty and the Beast in France Pavilion Having now seen the Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along for ourselves, we’re happy to report that this show is a delightful addition to Epcot! We were introduced to the preview by Don Hahn himself, and sat back in delight as we realized that the Sing-Along is animated and narrated by Mrs. Potts herself – Angela Lansbury! Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along ©Disney Now, you’re probably wondering what that “twist” is that has been teased. Well, *SPOILER ALERT* for those that want to stay surprised, but for everyone else, we can tell you that the “twist” of the show is that we find out LeFou was the one behind Belle and the Beast getting together in the film! Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along It’s explained that LeFou orchestrated sending Maurice to the castle, as we see in the film, and that he made sure Belle went to save her father. A few new scenes of LeFou were added to the story (ie, you can actually spot LeFou playing the violin in the ballroom scene!), each crafted by the original animators of the film, with the original actor once again lending his voice to the role. Disney Imagineers decided to add this element to the show to give audiences a “twist” on a classic tale, much like the Maleficient films. Beauty and the Beast ©Disney Five classic songs were featured, and will definitely have audiences singing along! We think you’ll be jumping to be a guest at this totally fun twist on the tale as old as time, and we can’t wait to hear everyone’s thoughts when the Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along opens in January 2020! Are you excited for the upcoming Beauty and the Beast Sing-a-Long? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below! 25. The weather outside ain’t exactly frightful, but the holiday TREATS in Disneyland sure are delightful! Smokejumpers Grill With the Festival of Holidays in full swing, we’ve been indulging in ALL the delicious snacks that Disney’s California Adventure has had to offer. But, the booths aren’t the only places to find yummy sweets in the park! Today, we’re hopping over to Smokejumpers Grill to try out a treat that’s all kinds of jolly! Just one look at the NEW Minty Yule Log Shake at the Smokejumpers Grill will get you in the holiday spirit! Bursting with color (and flavor), we couldn’t wait to see if this new shake was as good as it looks. Minty Yule Log Shake It’s a vanilla shake layered with chocolate cake pieces, and topped with whipped cream and a mini yule log that’s filled with mint icing. Minty Yule Log Shake The mint flavoring for this shake was perfect — subtle without being overpowering (just the way we like our minty treats!). The chocolate cake layer is thick, which does make it pretty tricky to actually enjoy this shake through the straw. That being said, grab a spoon and dig in, because the blend of all the flavors together is truly delightful! Minty Yule Log Shake The mini yule log on top is SUCH a great addition to the shake, and might just be our favorite part! This is a hearty addition to the treat – not only does it look gorgeous, but it also added a nice texture and flavor to the overall dessert. Minty Yule Log Shake There’s a generous helping of chocolate cake here, so you can really taste all the chocolate! (: Overall, we REALLY enjoyed this shake, and would happily go back for seconds!
