  1. With Christmas in full swing, we’ve spotted all sorts of chocolate, gingerbread, and peppermint flavors around Disney World! Italy Pavilion And, even though we love the seasonal sweets, sometimes you just gotta take it back to the basics. That’s why the latest drink being poured in Epcot is fruity twist you don’t want to miss! The Strawberry Dream Rossini is being shaken and stirred (with a popsicle!!) at Via Napoli in the Italy Pavilion! Via Napoli Drink Sign The drink is mixed with strawberry purée and prosecco sparkling wine and garnished with a regular strawberry popsicle. Strawberry Dream Rossini The Strawberry Dream Rossini is an absolute delight. The flavors are all extremely fresh and taste more like real strawberry instead of anything artificial. Although the popsicle would melt super fast on a hot day, ours slowly blended into the drink. The prosecco is a little strong at first, but the strawberry blends wonderfully with it so the booze isn’t too overpowering. Strawberry Popsicle! If you’d love a grown-up version of a popsicle (one of the best snacks tbh), the Strawberry Dream Rossini is fun and delicious for $16! And, it only arrived yesterday according to a Cast Member! Strawberry Dream Rossini Buuut, that’s not all! You can find even MORE exciting drinks in Disney World by subscribing to our newsletter! Have you tried the Strawberry Dream Rossini yet? 6. Hello again from Jaleo in Disney Springs!! We have found ourselves back for more tapas, paella, and sangria! They’re just so good we couldn’t resist. Jaleo is a Spanish restaurant known for its authentic cuisine and cooking style. It’s brought to us by James Beard Award-Winning Chef José Andrés, and this is the fifth Jaleo location in the country. It’s also the largest! Jaleo Like I said, we enjoyed Jaleo on opening night, but with such a large menu, we were excited to finally go back and try new items! Atmosphere Jaleo has an upscale modern feel to the two-story restaurant, with unique light fixtures, and elegant wall photos. Jaleo We love the touches of whimsy in this otherwise elegant and upscale restaurant — like this Bull wearing a Luchador Mask! Each Jaleo has its own unique Bull, that is named and wears a different mask. Luchador Bull The Paella Pit must be showcased again and again! The wood-grilled Paellas are a signature staple at Jaleo, and they use the fire pit to cook other items as well — such as vegetables for many dishes. They also have a Spanish designed Charcoal Oven which is basically like grilling inside, and gives food a wonderful smokey, grill taste. Paella Pit We’re gonna keep the photo tour light today, as we know you’re excited to see the yummy food! For a full photo tour of Jaleo, check out our original post here! Eats The Jaleo menu is a lot of fun because you can try many different dishes given that they are tapas. On our last visit, the highlights were the Chicken Croquetas, the Jamon Ibérico, and the Pan de Cristal. With such high standards from the first visit, we were excited to dig into a few more items. We started with a few cocktails that are some of José’s signature items. Like the Ultimate Gin and Tonic. Ultimate Gin and Tonic Gin and Tonics are an incredibly popular drink in Spain, and the Ultimate is how José likes it! It’s made of Hendrick’s gin, Fever-Tree Indian Tonic, lemon verbena, juniper, lemon, and lime, and served in an awesome big glass with a giant slow-melting ice cube. This was a fabulous and refreshing drink, and one that all Gin & Tonic lovers should make a point to grab. We also had to have some of Jaleo’s famous sangria — when in Rome, er, Spain! Previous we tried the Red variety, so today we went with white, which is called the Sangría de lujo cava. Sangría de lujo cava The Sangría de lujo cava is made of Jaleo’s signature starter blend of juices, fruit, and liquors, and then Spanish Cava Wine is added table side when you order a pitcher. Sangría de lujo cava Once again, this is incredible! The Cava wine adds some nice bubble, and the blend of juices and fruit add a natural sweetness, that isn’t sickly sweet like other sangria on property. I am normally a red wine drinker, but between the two sangrias, I couldn’t pick a favorite! Now that we had some cocktails, it was time for food! We started with José’s tacos… José’s Tacos …which are like no tacos we’ve ever seen before! These are Jamon Ibérico and Supreme caviar, and are meant to be folded up and eaten in one bite, like a mini taco. This specialty ham is the meat of black-footed pigs that eat a strict diet of only acorns to give the meat the best flavor possible. When ordered on its own, the Jamon Ibérico is carved table-side. Jamon Ibérico Carving So how was it topped with caviar? Honestly pretty tasty — if you like caviar. It’s a real indulgent treat to have such a specialty ham topped with a delicacy like Supreme caviar! However, if you aren’t very adventurous or not a caviar fan, I’d probably stick to the Jamon Ibérico by itself. Next up, we tried the stuffed endives, or Endivias con queso de cabra y naranjas. Endivias con queso de cabra y naranjas Literally translated that means Endives with goat cheese, oranges, and almonds. These are fantastic! They are fresh and bright, and something unique but not too adventurous. In fact, one of our party said these were the perfect amount of adventurous for someone who is interested in new foods, but not ready to jump into caviar and oysters. We also tried the Fried Artichokes with alioli. These don’t appear to be on the menu regularly, but you can always ask! Fried Artichokes These were a fan favorite at our table! Light and crunchy, with good flavor, these were simple and delicious — they reminded me of an elevated onion ring. And the alioli (different from aioli) was garlicy and perfect. Next up, something a little (ok a lot) more adventurous… Boiled Octopus …The Boiled Octopus. This is served cooked sous vide and served with peewee potatoes, pimentón, and finished tableside with extra virgin olive oil. While the suckers may be alarming, this dish is actually delicious. The chewy texture will throw off people who are texture conscious, but if you’re feeling a little more adventurous than usual, then why not try it?! We also tried the shrimp José’s Way — the Gambas a la Zahara. Gambas a la Zahara These are head-on shrimp, with garlic and extra virgin olive oil, and served warm in a bubbling pot. If you are a shrimp fan — you will LOVE these. Do not be alarmed that they are head on, as they are easily removed. They are perfectly cooked, and incredibly flavorful. They are also served with bread to dip into the garlicky buttery sauce, which is amazing because well….garlic and butter. Another meat winner is the Secreto ibérico bellota con pan con tomate y salsa verde. Secreto ibérico bellota con pan con tomate y salsa verde According to Jaleo’s menu, this means – “It’s a secret! Skirt steak from the legendary black-footed ibérico pigs of Spain served with toasted tomato bread, mojo verde and alioli.” Secreto Pork Sauces This meat comes from the same pigs as the Jamon Ibérico, but it’s more like a pork loin. It’s basically the equivalent of the filet mignon of a pig, and it is AMAZING. This was many people’s favorite dish of the day. The two dipping sauces complimented the perfectly cooked meat wonderfully, and the portion is very generous. I would highly recommend trying this one! And of course, you can’t eat at Jaleo without getting Paella! Vegetable Paella Our party was presented with this GIANT seasonal Vegetable Paella — which features tons of veggies including mushrooms and fresh peppers. Vegetable Paella – Close-up As with our previous visit, the paella is fantastic. Which, duh, this is one of the Jaleo staples. The rice is perfectly cooked, and the vegetables bring a ton of flavor. Honestly, you won’t even miss the meat! But if you are a meat person, the classic Valencia paella with chicken and rabbit is a winner as well. Whew! But we aren’t done yet!! Of course, we have to check out dessert. First up, the Quesada Asturiana. Quesada Asturiana This is a goat cheese cheesecake, with seasonal sorbet which for us was fresh strawberry. The cake is less creamy than a traditional cheesecake, and isn’t as sweet. As a goat cheese fan, I enjoyed it but if you aren’t one…then you may want to skip this sweet. Additionally, the sorbet was so amazing and fresh and outshined the cake in my opinion. Luckily getting sorbet on its own is an option on the dessert menu, which I’d highly recommend. We also tried the Pan con chocolate, which is chocolate custard with caramelized bread, olive oil, and brioche ice cream. Pan con chocolate Upon serving, our waiter poured fresh olive oil on the top and crumbled up the bread for us. Pan con chocolate This very traditional Spanish dessert was my favorite of all the desserts I’ve had at Jaleo. The chocolate is very rich, but it’s nicely balanced by the bread and olive oil. It may not be a huge serving, but it’s definitely shareable thanks to the potency of the chocolate, and the rich tapas you just ate! We left the meal stuffed (in a good way) with delicious cocktails, some new eats, and a few tasty sweets! Overall Jaleo dazzled us again with their unique dishes, presentation, outstanding service, and lovely cocktails. Every server we’ve had the pleasure of speaking with is excellent, especially when it comes to their knowledge of the menu. While the menu is certainly more adventurous than other locations in Disney Springs, there is something that just about everyone will like. However, it is surely a foodie paradise in our book! The Peppermint Cannoli has rolled into Vivoli il Gelato (and looks AH-MAZING)! Peppermint Cannoli You can choose to have the treat in a regular cannoli shell or a chocolate-dipped cannoli shell (!!!) filled with peppermint-flavored cannoli-cream and peppermint flakes. Cannoli Shells We happen to love cream cheese, so we LOVED the peppermint version in this cannoli! The fresh ricotta cream isn’t too sweet or overwhelmingly minty, but has just enough flavor to carry through with every bite. Peppermint Cannoli The peppermint pieces give a burst of mint, though, which wonderfully complements the crunchy and delicious pastry shell. Honestly, we wish we could have this treat year-round ’cause we think it’s a great option for people who don’t like overly sweet desserts and really refreshing! Peppermint Cannoli You can try your own Peppermint Cannoli (or two) for only $6. 12. Rise of the Resistance finally opened at Hollywood Studios’ Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge yesterday. Hangar and Transport Vehicle But all did not go as smoothly as Disney World hoped it would. The major headliner and centerpiece of Hollywood Studios’ new Star Wars-themed land broke down multiple times on December 5th, the day the new attraction was unveiled. After being shrouded in mystery, many Star Wars fans made the pilgrimage to Disney World to see for themselves the attraction being heralded as the “most epic” Disney ride that’s ever been built but were unable to fulfill their destiny. Stormtroopers! Read our Rise of the Resistance FAQ here! In the early morning hours on opening day, Disney switched on their Virtual Queue system, a feature on the My Disney Experience app which allows guests who are physically inside the park to virtually reserve a spot in line when crowds are particularly high. Queue Here’s everything you need to know about your first ride on Rise of the Resistance! However, these Rise of the Resistance boarding groups went FAST. So quickly, in fact, MANY would-be riders were shut out from riding Rise of the Resistance on its opening day. Many guests lined up to get in at 2 AM that morning, so when boarding groups were opened up, the early bird fans snagged up passes leaving many, many guests arriving later out of luck. Near park opening, boarding groups were all already gone for the day. Queue Read our thoughts on Rise after our first ride here! But even with a boarding group, a number of guests were unable to ride due to closures throughout the day. How did Disney help these fans who waited to get a precious boarding pass but STILL couldn’t ride? Experiences seem to vary by guest, but in general, it seems they gave out FastPasses+ to ride Rise of the Resistance the very next day, and a complimentary 1-day park hopper for guests who were able to join a Boarding Group on opening day but unable to ride. One of our friends of DFB was actually evacuated from the ride early on opening day. He told us Rise’s Cast Members stayed in-character the whole time, scanning his “DataBand” (how they referred to his MagicBand) and assigned him a “recovery time” (which he later found out was Star Wars-speak for a FastPass.) Rise of the Resistance’s FastPass While our friend said the use of in-universe terminology to explain the Rise of Resistance’s breakdown was endearing, it also made the overall evacuation a bit confusing. But several hours later, thanks to his alotted “recovery time” he was able to head straight to the front of the line when Rise of the Resistance had reopened. While issuing FastPasses seemed to help soften the blow, there was a slight problem this morning as the attraction continued to run into problems. Rise of the Resistance Did you know there are actually TWO versions of Rise of the Resistance? Find out which one we like better here! Even today, Rise of the Resistance is continuing to experience operational delays. Another friend of DFB was there and actually boarded the ride, but it experienced a malfunction and guests were evacuated. She was issued a FastPass on her MagicBand to return as well as a return time, but it didn’t show up on My Disney Experience for her. She was able to reboard the ride later with this FastPass…and it broke down again. She was given a paper FastPass the second time and, third times a charm, she was finally able to ride! Whew. That was exhausting even just writing it! Rise of the Resistance’s Dedication Ceremony See details about Rise of the Resistance’s Dedication Ceremony here! Early this morning Disney, again, began offering boarding groups. But just like yesterday, they were gone very early in the day. Some folks who’d received FastPasses on opening day and returned to use them were informed their boarding group couldn’t be accommodated and were once again issued a FastPass+ to ride Rise the next day and ANOTHER 1-day complimentary park hopper ticket. Again, this seems to be some guests’ experiences and we’re not sure if this was how everyone was handled. Something is Wrong! While we never want an attraction to breakdown (certainly not on its opening day or when it’s this highly anticipated!) this attraction is one of the most complex and innovative rides Disney’s ever built. We hope like with Disney’s Skyliner collision, these wrinkles will be ironed out quickly and Star Wars fans will be able to ride Rise of the Resistance without headaches (and heartbreaks) soon! Are you surprised by Rise of the Resistance’s frequent breakdowns? Do you think a FastPass+ and complimentary 1-day park hopper ticket is adequate compensation? 13. With so many Christmasy cupcakes in Disney World this time of year, we’re always excited to see some that break the traditional holiday mold! All Star Movies Resort And a special shout-out to our DFB BFF @yellowbeadsandme for showing us this new cupcake that she spotted over at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort! Check out the new Mike Wazowski Cupcake (which totally reminds us of the Mike Dome we saw a while back) can currently be found at All-Star’s World Premier Food Court! While Roz would say, “I’m watching you, Wazowski. Always watching.” it looks like this cupcake is watching us! Mike Wazowski Cupcake The Mike Wazowski Cupcake features a yellow cake, with a chocolate ganache center, topped with peppermint frosting, chocolate horns, and an eye made out of sugar! Mike Wazowski Cupcake Luckily, the peppermint flavor in the icing wasn’t too pronounced, and the yellow cake was nice and moist! The chocolate ganache center added some richness to the cupcake and while the horns and eye were cute decoration, taste-wise they didn’t bring much to the scare floor of flavors the rest of the cupcake had going for it! You can pick up your very own Mike Wazowski Cupcake at Disney’s All-Star Movies for $5.99! And if you’re looking for something a little more Christmas-y to treat yo’self with, check out the new Christmas Tree Cupcake and Elf Dome we reviewed yesterday HERE! 14. All these holiday treats at Disney World sure are making our days more merry and bright! Vivoli il Gelato The most wonderful time of the year has arrived at the Most Magical Place on Earth, with all kinds of peppermint or gingerbread goodies abound! Today, we’re heading over to Vivoli il Gelato in Disney Springs to try out another cheery treat! The Nutcracker Sundae is the newest festive treat to hit Vivoli il Gelato! There is a LOT going on here, so let’s unpack! Nutcracker Sundae The sundae consists of black cherry gelato, walnuts, chocolate sauce, and sprinkle-covered whipped cream — plus it comes with a delicious waffle cone in a cup! The Florida sun is known for melting frozen treats FAST, but in this case, it actually worked out for the best! When the flavors melted together, it tasted a bit like a chocolate-covered cherry – YUM! Nutcracker Sundae The black cherry flavor of the gelato is a bit subtle, but when combined with the chocolate, waffle and walnuts, it’s really delicious! While we could’ve done with a little more chocolate (ALWAYS more chocolate, please!!), the waffle was a perfect addition and tasted very fresh and crunchy. Overall, it’s a delicious treat to enjoy during the holiday season in the Sunshine State! Nutcracker Sundae The Nutcracker Sundae is one of THREE December Specials at Vivoli il Gelato, and they all have a definite holiday twist! Vivo Il Gelato December Specials You can see our full Reindeer Float review here! 15. There’s been some SERIOUSLY adorable holiday treats in Disney World this year! Vivoli il Gelato And now, ANOTHER ONE that’s just made the nice list — as in really NICE lookin’! Check out the new Reindeer Float at Vivoli il Gelato! Isn’t he just so stinkin’ cute? We love his little antlers made out of pretzels! Plus he’s got two blueberries for eyes and a raspberry for his red little nose! Reindeer Float But good looks aside, it’s time to see if this little reindeer makes our tastebuds fly! The Reindeer Float features vanilla gelato (this is made by Vivoli il Gelato, after all!) and cinnamon-flavored Coca-Cola, topped with whipped cream! The ingredients couldn’t be any more simple, but when their powers combine, this is truly one delicious seasonal snack! Reindeer Float The cinnamon-flavored Coca-Cola really makes the Reindeer Float special! The spice from the cinnamon really comes through and pairs well with the sweetness of the vanilla gelato! Reindeer Float If you’re going to join in any reindeer games at Disney World this holiday season, make sure you swing my Vivoli il Gelato in Disney Springs where you’ll be able to buy your own Reindeer Float for $12! 17. While the merry bells keep ringing, may your every wish come true! Kona Island And, our wish for this holiday season is some delicious Christmas treats in Disney World! While we’ve been sipping on some Mulled Cider and a Frozen Hot Chocolate Martini, now we’re getting our coffee fix at the Disney Resorts! The Peppermint Mocha has been swirled up at Kona Island in the Polynesian Resort (and satisfies all our chocolate dreams). Peppermint Mocha The fresh hot or frozen coffee is mixed with peppermint syrup and topped with whipped cream, chocolate drizzle, and peppermint sugar. Peppermint Mocha Coffee lovers, you’re probs going to want to stop by Kona Island for this holiday sip! Although there isn’t a very strong peppermint flavor, the chocolate and coffee are both rich and delicious! The entire drink is super fluffy and mixed beautifully. It almost has a foamy milkshake consistency, which we LOVED. The peppermint powder on top adds a final minty kick to the Peppermint Mocha, tying all the flavors together. Peppermint Sugar and Chocolate Drizzle You can get your own Peppermint Mocha for $6.17 with tax. Or, if you want to add a lil bit of Baileys to your coffee, you can get the boozy version for $17.89 (but we think this is pretty steep for the size!). 18. We’re zipping over to Epcot today, wanna come?? Future World Epcot is a pretty sweet place to be for holiday festivities right now! With the 2019 Epcot International Festival of the Holidays in full swing, there’s a lot to see and even more to eat; we love checking out the Holiday Kitchens and Storytellers that are spreading holiday cheer around the World Showcase right now. Still, Epcot is undergoing a transformation, so even outside of the festival, there are tons of updates in food, construction, and merchandise. Let’s check them out! Epcot Food Updates World Showcase Let’s start off with our fave part — the food!!! We popped into Kringla Bakeri og Kafe and noticed that the Olaf Topper is gone from the Fall Cheesecake. Don’t be fooled by those colors, though! This guy is still lemon-flavored. Fall Lemon Cheesecake Click here to read our FULL REVIEW of Kringla’s Fall Cheesecake! Over in Germany, we noticed that the bottled cider was missing at the Germany Bier Cart. Instead, there’s a seasonal beer in its place. As of yesterday, they still didn’t have a seasonal beer available, so we’ll be keeping an eye out for that! Germany Bier Cart The winter season is a great time to try out Germany’s warm spiced wine at Weinkeller. It’s called Glühwein and it’s traditionally served at Christmas markets — perfect for the season! Weinkeller Gluwein Pizza al Taglio has closed again in the Italy Pavilion. But worry not, we’ll be chowing down on pizza by the slice again on December 20th. Pizza al Taglio There’s good news out of Japan, though! 19. Today just got SO MUCH better. Riviera Resort Skyliner Station That’s because we just caught wind of TWO new Disney Dining menus! Oh, yeah! Disney’s Riviera Resort opens to the public on December 16th, and with five new dining locations, we’ve been eagerly awaiting that opening. Just yesterday, we got a peek into the signature dining location, Topolino’s Terrace, and a look at the other dining locations too. Well now, the menus for Bar Riva and Le Petit Café are officially here and we can’t wait to show them to you! Bar Riva Let’s kick it off by taking a look at the offerings coming to Bar Riva! The menu released today only includes beverages, but we’re thinking there will likely be a food menu coming soon too. We’ll be sure to keep an eye out! Bar Riva | Photo Courtesy @carlyewisel It looks like this European-inspired lounge will have a BUNCH of new cocktails! Check out the full list here including Le Bourbon Breeze, the Sunshine Margarita, the Aperol Spritz, and more! Signature cocktail prices at Bar Riva range from $13 to $15. Bar Riva Cocktail Menu Aaaand if you’re into a tasty frozen cocktail, Bar Riva has three offerings: the Mediterranean Wave, the Strawberry Margarita, and the Provence Frosé! Hmmm… yes. We’ll take ALL THREE, please!! Frozen cocktails range from $15 to $16 in price. Bar Riva Frozen Cocktails Menu So, that’s the current menu listed for Bar Riva. We’ll be watching for any updates or changes so that we can keep you in the loop! Bar Riva Interior | Photo Courtesy @carlyewisel Le Petit Café Now, let’s chat about Le Petit Café. This little spot is themed after the famous cafés of Paris and the themes of this dining location are SO CUTE. It really looks like a Parisian hot spot! Le Petite Cafe | Photo Courtesy @carlyewisel And the menu certainly matches. So, the menu released today is really just a lounge menu. We’re keeping our fingers crossed that a separate breakfast menu might show up too. So, Le Petit Café will serve fresh coffee and pastries in the morning and get this…it will turns into a WINE BAR in the evening! Le Petit Cafe | Photo Courtesy @carlyewisel Buckle up, friends because there’s a lot of goodies to look at. First up we have the lounge offerings which range in price from $8.99 to $13.99. These include an Artisanal Cheese Plate, Charcuterie, Olives, and a Salmon Rillette. YUM. Aaaand we spotted seven specialty cocktails like the Les Fleur, the Gin Spritz, and more! Cocktails range in price from $13 to $15. Le Petit Café Eats and Specialty Cocktails Menu But cocktails are definitely not the limit on beverage options. Check out this extensive beverage menu with specialty coffees, vodka, gin, rum, and tequila! That Caffé Almande looks REALLY good in our opinion! Le Petit Café Beverages Menu The list goes on with whiskey, brandy, Amari and Anise, and some draft offerings like the French Kronenbourg 1664 Lager! Le Petit Café Beverages Menu Of course, it wouldn’t be a Parisienne lounge without wine! So, once you get through a list of bottles and cans, you spot the wine list with sparkling wine and white wine… Le Petit Café Beverages Menu …and rosé, and red wine! Many of the wines are actually European so this will be a great spot for wine-lovers. And, if you’re not into alcohol, fear not! There are a few non-alcoholic offerings like specialty coffee… Le Petit Café Beverages Menu …and even Mocktails! That Mediterranean Mint Lemonade sounds oh, so refreshing. Le Petit Café Mocktails Menu Again, this menu only seems to feature mostly afternoon/evening offerings, so we’ll be looking out for the breakfast menu. After all, our sneak peek showed us some tasty looking pastries and you KNOW we want to get on that! Pastries at Le Petit Cafe | Photo Courtesy @carlyewisel Look at more of the delicious pastries that you can expect to find at Le Petit Cafe — here! 20. This week, the highly anticipated attraction Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance opened in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida. Meanwhile, the cast of the upcoming film, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, got a first look at the attraction at Disneyland park in California before it opens to the public on Jan. 17. We caught up with the stars in Galaxy’s Edge just as they wrapped interviews promoting the new movie. Director J.J. Abrams and film stars Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Anthony Daniels, Naomi Ackie, Keri Russell and Kelly Marie Tran were wowed at the sight of Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is one of the most ambitious, advanced and immersive experiences ever undertaken by Walt Disney Imagineering, blurring the lines between fantasy and reality on a scale never seen before in a Disney attraction. Check out the cast’s reaction below and hear what they had to say about Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and the film. Be sure to catch Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker in theaters beginning Dec. 20. Lucasfilm and director J.J. Abrams join forces once again to take viewers on an epic journey to a galaxy far, far away with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, the riveting conclusion of the seminal Skywalker saga, where new legends will be born and the final battle for freedom is yet to come. 21. While trying not to spend all your money at the Disney parks should classify as an extreme sport by this point, it doesn’t help the family vacation budget any to be constantly bombarded by shiny new Disney merch. Haunted Mansion Holiday But while there have been markups on seemingly everything from park tickets and Minnie Ears to food and beverages at both Disney World and Disneyland, we spotted this popular Disney park item was actually a getting MARKDOWN! If you’ve been to the Disney parks recently, you’ve probably seen these Host-a-Ghost Jars. Originally released in Disneyland in celebration of the Haunted Mansion’s 50th anniversary, that later materialized in Disney World. Host-A-Ghost Jars Check out the Hitchhiking Ghost Sippers, Popcorn Buckets and Dessert Holders! And despite their initial popularity, interest seems to have DIED off (sorry, couldn’t help ourselves). Originally priced at $59.99 each, it seemed like many of these jars couldn’t hitch a ride home with anybody! But recently we’ve seen walls of Host-a-Ghost Jar at Mouse Gear in Epcot and other locations like Memento Mori the Magic Kingdom marked down to $29.99 — half their original price! Host a Ghost Jar And while they don’t have the full gamut of Host-a-Ghost Jars to choose from anymore, two of Haunted Mansion’s most-notable spooks —The Hatbox Ghost and Constance Hatchaway are still lingering around! Host a Ghost Jar We’re not sure if Disney seriously overestimated the demand for these things, but either way, there’s still plenty of Happy Haunts in stock waiting for their forever homes! These SEEMED like a cool idea — a spirit trapped in a jar you could “adopt” to take home. But in reality, it was just a $60 frosted jar with a dim LED and a flat plastic image inside. No part of that felt worth $60 to us, unfortunately. Seems other guests agreed! We’re really curious about how many Host-a-Ghost Jars they actually MADE in the first place considering how many are left. These seemed initially like they would be a popular collectible. Maybe the original $59.99 price tag was too big of an ask? Top of Host-A-Ghost Jar Disney merch prices have been soaring to new heights lately for with $600 Designer Ears, and expensive interactive experiences like building your own lightsaber at Savi’s Workshop for $200 or assembling a robot companion at Droid Depot for $100. We’d certainly like to see a reverse-trend of Disney slashing its prices, but we’re not going to hold our breath. After all, Animal Kingdom’s Pandora: The World of Avatar has been open since 2017, and the best deal we’ve found ’round those parts is 10 bucks off the cost of adopting a banshee from Windtraders‘ rookery — if you buy two. :-/ I’m Still an Expensive Boy! Check out the sign we spotted earlier today… Banshees Sign Needless to say, although the Host-a-Ghost Jar markdown may just be an isolated deal, we’ll keep you updated with any additional news about popular Disney park items hittin’ the bargain bins! 25. ‘Tis the season for holiday cheer at the Disney parks! Candlelight Processional ©Disney While there are SO many festive favorites to choose from at Disney World during the most wonderful time of the year, one of our favorite annual holiday events at the parks HAS to be the Candlelight Processional at Epcot’s International Festival of the Holidays! The show features a celebrity narrator reading of a traditional scripture, accompanied by a massive choir and live orchestra for a truly spectacular experience. Earlier this week we shared with you that Alton Fitzgerald White would be replacing Chita Rivera as a celebrity narrator, and now we have another change! It was previously announced that Warwick Davis would be the narrator for the Candlelight Processional on December 19th through 21st, but that no longer seems to be the case. Candlelight Processional ©Disney It looks like Geena Davis will be replacing him as the narrator for those nights! The beloved actress is known for her roles in movies such as Beetlejuice and Thelma & Louise. We’re so excited to see this narration for the two nights of the Candlelight Processional! Geena Davis ©Disney The Candlelight Processional will be running November 29th through December 30th at the America Gardens Theater in the American Pavilion in Epcot, with shows performed three times each night!
