It’s a season of change at Disney’s Epcot! Spaceship Earth The exciting transformation includes new dining options and even new attractions, including the Summer 2020 opening of Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. Even the World Showcase side entrance to the park Disney is making upgrades in order to better serve visitors. Guests entering Epcot have the option to enter through the newly redesigned International Gateway. For those not familiar, this is accessed from a path that connects Epcot’s World Showcase to Disney’s BoardWalk area and its resorts as well as Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It is also accessed via the Skyliner with a station that just recently opened. International Gateway Previously, the entrance was very small to accommodate the lighter number of guests accessing Epcot through it. Due to the influx of guests entering via Skyliner, the need for a larger, more planned out entrance had to be met. The newly redesigned ticket booths and entrance fit the design of the area and welcome guests into the park. International Gateway Guest Relations We spoke with a Main Entrance Cast Member who informed us that International Gateway Guest Relations will also be getting an upgrade with the addition of a small lobby. International Gateway Guest Relations While nothing has been officially confirmed by Disney with the new lobby, we’ll keep you in the loop as we receive more information. We’re so happy that the International Gateway has been given some much-needed love. It looks great! What are you most excited about with Epcot’s transformation? Let us know below! We are proud to share that the original theme created especially for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge by Oscar-winning composer John Williams, titled “Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Symphonic Suite,” has been nominated for a GRAMMY award in the “Best Instrumental Composition” category! Since opening earlier this year, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge has welcomed millions of visitors to Black Spire Outpost, with Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run having taken more than 5 million passengers on daring flights through the galaxy. The captivating soundtrack to the planet Batuu can be heard in the below video. The original theme is also available to stream on Apple Music*, offering an exciting way for fans to prepare for their upcoming adventure! Around the globe, thousands of inspiring women bring Disney magic to guests each and every day, from designing breathtaking vistas in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge to crafting award-winning fine dining experiences. Continuing our month-long celebration of Veterans Day, let’s take a closer look at some of the inspiring heroes that work at Disney in a special installment of our #WomenBehindtheMagic series! Let’s meet a few of our amazing Veteran, Reservist and Active-Duty cast members… Briana Foster, a Labor Relations Manager at Disneyland Resort, will celebrate 17 years with the 300th Army Band in February, where she serves as a senior instrumentalist and vocalist for the unit. At Disney, she enjoys the close relationships she’s created with clients and partners and the opportunity to influence the future of the company. For the past two years, Alexis Lohmann has been making Disney magic as the Manager at the Disney store in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Before Disney, she spent six years in the United States Air Force as a Loadmaster on C-17 aircraft where she monitored in-flight systems, loaded aircrafts and even flew groups of children home after cleft palate surgeries through Operation Smile. Whether it’s at Disney or in the Air Force, Alexis aspires to work with amazing people who care about bringing magic to those around them. At Walt Disney World Resort, Traci Arnold is a Resort Duty Manager at Disney’s All-Star Resorts where she’s been an integral part in assisting the operation of the resort for the almost two years. She takes pride in helping create memorable guest experiences. We thank Traci for her current Military service as Director of Operations for Cyber. At Walt Disney Imagineering, Producer Michele Hobbs facilitates the design process of construction projects at Disneyland Resort. For the past 13 years, Michele has worked on projects including, Project Stardust, Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa refurbishment, the Sleeping Beauty Castle renovation and Tropical Hideaway development. Before producing, Michele became the first female officer in the 10th Engineer Battalion. Her military service was inspired by her father and she even earned the same Army’s Basic Parachutist Badge that her father had. She completed her Army career as a Captain and instructor at the Engineer Basic Officer Leader Course, but whether it’s in the military, at Disney or in your community, Michele encourages you to enjoy your work and be passionate! Thank you to our veterans, active duty and reservists – our nation is forever grateful for your service. Stay tuned for our next feature of our #WomenBehindtheMagic series! View the full article

Disney is all dressed up for the holidays. The parks and resorts shine with miles of garland, twinkling trees, and ornaments galore. It’s an enchanting time to soak in the holiday splendor with your little one. Here are three top picks for young families making their first visit to Walt Disney World Resort during this joyful time of the year. 1. From top to bottom, Magic Kingdom Park is transformed into a winter wonderland for the season. Draped with thousands of twinkling lights, Cinderella Castle looks like an ice palace — fitting for the nightly “A Frozen Holiday Wish” show and tree lighting with Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, and Olaf. The park offers yuletide treats and merriment around every corner, but the iconic 65-foot-tall Christmas tree takes center stage. It’s actually breathtaking and it’s not just the enormous size of the tree, it’s the detail in the decorations. Kids will love to point out the giant popcorn balls or the larger than life bulbs. There’s so much cheer in store at Magic Kingdom Park. 2. The magic of the holidays comes to life at Disney’s Animal Kingdom like never before. And Discovery Island is the place to be for little ones. This year the park welcomed the coolest life-size animal puppets – polar bears, fox, and reindeer – that mingle with guests. These hand-crafted puppets are artsy and engaging for youngsters; plus nearby strolling musicians play songs of the season. It’s pure magic! There’s also gorgeous rooftop luminaries and lanterns (perfect for eye spy), and new Tree of Life Awakenings with animated imagery and wintry visuals, will surely grab their attention. 3. There’s a sleigh full of cheer for little ones at the Disney Springs walk-through Christmas Tree Trail. There’s everything you can imagine, from the magical snowfall and festive music to a wondrous trail of Disney-themed Christmas trees and encounters with old St. Nick himself at his charming chalet. The Christmas Tree Trail offers backdrops for great photo ops, holiday shopping at the Elforium, and lots of good eats like Mrs. Claus’s Churro Bites, Winter Frost Cotton Candy, Frozen Hot Cocoa, and Frozen Eggnog with Captain Morgan (for the grownups.) So whatever corner of Disney you decide to explore, I wish you a spirited, blessed holiday with family and friends. View the full article

As part of Project Stardust, the Disneyland Resort—and specifically Disneyland park—has been undergoing a number of enhancements to continue to deliver a world-class guest experience. The enhancements have ranged from overall beautification of the theme park to maximizing guest flow. The latest of these efforts include a new entrance for Tomorrowland. If you’re in the parks this holiday season, you’ll notice work is currently underway. A new look will be completed in 2020, but we wanted to share a first look with you today! When planning, Imagineers wanted to open up the space and improve access into the land. However, it was important to maintain its overall complexion—with trees and beautiful planters. As shown in this rendering, guests will soon be entering Tomorrowland on a widened pathway lined with elliptical planters that are filled with swirls of colorful flowers. You may recognize that this new threshold into the future pays homage to Tomorrowland entrances of yesterday. Disney Imagineer Kim Irvine noted, “Tomorrowland has always represented a feeling of optimism. [Imagineer] John Hench originally designed the land with this notion of being wide open to innovative ideas and technology. When we started looking at the different Tomorrowland entrances through the years, both the 1955 and 1967 versions had a very optimistic appeal which resonated with us.” When “new” Tomorrowland debuted in 1967, Walt Disney and his Imagineers envisioned this land as a “world on the move,” featuring a variety of futuristic vehicles zooming around and the Googie architecture that had become representative of the Space Age. Today’s Imagineers are creating Space Age-inspired spires, which will flank the entrance. We look forward to revealing the new entrance soon, welcoming future generations to tomorrow. From the purple wall in the Magic Kingdom Park to the bubblegum wall at Epcot, there are so many Instagram-worthy photo spots to take advantage of at Walt Disney World Resort. One of my favorite places to take pictures? Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon! It’s a dream come true for social media enthusiasts, offering sandy beaches, sparkling blue water and tropical foliage. Here are 13 #Instagramable spots you don’t want to miss! 1. The Mount Mayday Bridge This iconic shot is No. 1 on my list for a reason: it combines Typhoon Tilly, greenery and an adventurous rope bridge into one beautiful photo. Find it on Mount Mayday. 2. The Welcome Sign There’s no better way to announce that you’ve made it to Typhoon Lagoon than by sharing a picture at the entrance sign with your social media followers. #TyphoonLagoon 3. The Surfers Rule! Wall This Disney wall says it all – Surfers Rule! Fun Fact: you can learn to surf in Typhoon Lagoon’s Surf Pool before the park opens. 4. The Secret Door How cool is this secret doorway? Leave a comment below if you know where to find it. 5. The Beach One of my favorite things about Typhoon Lagoon is the sandy beaches. Head down to the Surf Pool to get this shot featuring a nautical rope fence. 6. The Waterfall Time to go chase some waterfalls! Whether you want a group photo or a solo shot, the waterfall at Typhoon Lagoon is a playful location that brings natural beauty to your vacation photos. 7. Castaway Creek Bridge Castaway Creek is not just for floating! It also doubles as a great background for photos. Look for this spot to capture tropical purple flowers, crystal clear water and Typhoon Tilly in one Instagram-worthy picture. 8. Hidden Mickey Raft Who doesn’t love finding a hidden Mickey? This larger-than-life raft puts the Disney in Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon. 9. The Board Room Wall The Board Room wall features a slanted window, quaint portholes, colorful surf boards and distressed driftwood. What more could you ask for in a Disney wall? 10. The Boat 4 Sale Sign I don’t recommend purchasing this boat because clearly it “needs work”. However, I do recommend taking a picture in front of it! 11. Happy Landings Ice Cream I scream, you scream, we all scream for .. the Sand Pail Sundae at Happy Landings Ice Cream. Foodstagrams are trending more than ever and this photogenic sundae is a fun way to enhance any picture at Typhoon Lagoon. 12. The Typhoon Lagoon Shark Jaws There are no sharks at Typhoon Lagoon, but there is a great photo spot featuring oversized shark jaws. This location is ideal for group pictures and can be found near Typhoon Tilly’s. 13. The Speedboat Races Wall Last, but certainly not least, is the speedboat races wall. This Disney wall stays true to the nautical theming at Typhoon Lagoon and features whimsical rustic details. Planning a trip to Walt Disney World Resort? Make sure to add the Disney Water Parks to your travel itinerary and check out the upgraded 4-Park Magic Ticket. For the first time ever, the 4-Park Magic Ticket includes one admission to either Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon or Disney’s Blizzard Beach, plus one admission to the new NBA Experience at Disney Springs. The 2019 Epcot International Festival of the Holidays will be returning November 29, 2019 through December 30, 2019. In addition to the Candlelight Processional and stunning holiday decor, our highlight each year is the FOOD (duh!) featured at the Holiday Kitchens around World Showcase. Epcot Christmas Decorations We had previously shared all the booth and menu items to be featured at this year’s festival, but now we’ve got a first look at some of the new food! In addition to some returning favorites (like the slow-roasted turkey at the American Holiday Table), Disney has shared some new items! American Holiday Table Thanks to Disney Parks Blog we now have the official foodie guide and a first peek at some brand new dishes! We’re so happy to see the return of the family-friendly Holiday Cookie Stroll. The Bavaria Holiday Kitchen in Germany is featuring a new Linzer cookie this year that will be a part of the stroll. The Feast of The Three Kings Kitchen will also be featuring a new cookie, the totally yummy looking chocolate crinkle cookie. ©Disney Just like last year, you’ll find a Cookie Stroll page in your Festival of the Holidays Passport (these are free!). This page will list the booth locations of holiday cookies around the Festival. If you’re up for a sweet challenge, you can purchase five cookies throughout the Festival and collect a stamp at each food booth where the cookie is found. 2018 Epcot Festival of the Holidays Passport This year’s completer cookie is a Mickey cookie topped with a Santa hat! Mickey Santa Cookie The L’Chaim! Holiday Kitchen will once again be featuring the totally addictive Pastrami on Rye but joining the lineup will be a new Smoked Salmon Potato Latke. A new beverage offering includes Shmaltz Brewing Company Chanukah Hanukkah Pass the Beer. To Life! Pastrami on Rye and Smoked Salmon Potato Latke ©Disney Refreshment Port near the Canada Pavilion will be featuring yet another twist on classic Poutine. The Turkey Poutine returns but this year the base is no longer sweet potato fries — classic fries take their place. Replacing the eggnog shake will be T.G. Lee Eggnog, available non-alcoholic or with spiced rum. Turkey Poutine ©Disney Our northern neighbors at The Yukon Holiday Kitchen in the Canada Pavilion will be featuring a new Canadian Wild Rice and Ham Soup with Almonds served with a Pretzel Roll. You had us at PRETZEL ROLL! Canadian Wild Rice and Ham Soup ©Disney The Le Marche de Noel Holiday Kitchen in France will be offering a new Rillette de Saumon, which is Salmon Spread with House-made bread. There’s also a new Frozen Hot Chocolate Martini: Grey Goose Vanilla Vodka and Chocolate Milk that sounds uhhhhhhmazing! Rillette de Saumon ©Disney The Shi Wasu Holiday Kitchen in Japan will be featuring a new dish, the insta-worthy Chirashi Sushi Tree. In the shape of a Christmas tree, this dish features Sashimi-grade Tuna, Salmon, Ikura, and Yellowtail with Vegetables decorated on a bed of Rice. Chirashi Sushi Tree ©Disney The Tuscany Holiday Kitchen in Italy will be featuring a new pasta dish, Collezione Barilla. The bowl of deliciousness will feature Pennette Pasta with Sweet Sausage and Caramelized Onions all in a Creamy Sauce. (now THAT’s amore!) Collezione Barilla ©Disney The Bavaria Holiday Kitchen in Germany will be featuring an authentic Pork Schnitzel with Mushroom Sauce and Spatzle along with a great selection of drinks (we’re talking the return of Schöfferhofer Pomegranate Hefeweizen). PROST! Pork Schnitzel with Mushroom Sauce and Spatzle ©Disney The Shanghai Holiday Kitchen in China will be offering up a new Chengdu Spicy Street Fries. This looks like the perfect dish to soak up all that eggnog you’re sipping OR the 3 new holiday cocktails this booth will be serving up (they tend to be pretty heavy-handed at this booth — in a good way!). Chengdu Spicy Street Fries ©Disney The Firework features Jose Cuervo Tequila Gold, Vodka, Mango Syrup, Orange Juice and Soda Water. For something with a more dessert twist, the cleverly named Marco Boba features Amaretto, Iced Coffee, Milk and Boba. The Lucky Mo features Peach Schnapps, Peach Syrup, Orange Juice, Pineapple Juice and Coconut Milk. Shanghai Holiday Kitchen The fiesta gets going in Mexico at Las Posados Holiday Kitchen where they are featuring two new dishes. The Tamal de Pollo features Braised Chipotle Chicken served in a Corn Masa with Yellow Mole and topped with Toasted Pumpkin Seeds, Queso Cotija and Crema Mexicana (Bonus: this one is also Gluten Free). Tamal de Pollo and Horchata Cheesecake ©Disney To curb that sweet tooth the Horchata Cheesecake will feature a Creamy Rice-based Cheesecake and is served with Cajeta Sauce. Last year’s La Posado Margarita got an upgrade and is now the Horchata Margarita. Be careful with this one! The cocktail features Tequila, Horchata Rum, Cinnamon Whisky, and Agua de Horchata served on the rocks. Las Posadas Holiday Kitchen Each Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea Company will be featuring a different festive drink. The Choco-Latte: Latte with Chocolate Sauce and Baileys Irish Cream Liqueur will be available from Future World East while the Canada location will be featuring the Ginger Chai Madness: Chai Latte with Baileys Irish Cream Liqueur and Gingerbread Syrup. Joffrey’s In Canada Their Showcase Plaza location will be serving a Coconut Snowstorm: Latte with RumChata and Coconut Syrup. The American Adventure will be featuring Toffee Coffee: a Latte with Baileys Irish Cream Liqueur and Sea Salt Caramel Toffee Sauce (We’ve seen a similar version of this one to celebrate the opening of the Skyliner).
