If you’ve been bingeing out on Disney+ since its launch on November 12th, then you’ve probably noticed some key features you’ve come to know and love from those other subscription services have been strangely absent from the new streaming app. Disney+ But now, Disney+ has just made several updates to its live-streaming platform, making it easier for viewers to navigate and access its extensive Disney, Marvel and Star Wars-related content! Disney+’s recent update includes a “resume watching” feature which wasn’t available when the app first went live earlier this month. We don’t know about you, but it was a major time suck having to re-open the movie we passed out watching the night before and fast-forwarding to where we’d left off! Luckily, the new “resume” feature alleviates that problem for us now! There’s also a “restart” button — in case you need to go back to the beginning of whatever you’re watching which is also super-handy! Disney+ We’re happy to see these new features added and are glad to see Disney+ is actively adapting to users’ needs. What other features will Disney+ be adding to its app? Our incredible Disney chefs bring magic in the form of meals to thousands of Walt Disney World Resort guests each and every day. And twice each month, they mix their passion for the culinary arts and our local Central Florida community into a unique opportunity to deliver that same magic to nearly 600 of our neighbors who may not experience a warm meal otherwise. For the past 20 years, our culinary teams have created nutritious—and delicious—meals in their Disney kitchens and then teamed up with Disney VoluntEARS to deliver and serve the offerings at the Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida, a local nonprofit organization that serves more than 20,000 meals to those in need each year. And 9,000 of those annual meals are prepared and served by Disney chefs. One of the most special meals served each year is on Thanksgiving night, as a Disney chef brings a traditional holiday meal to the coalition’s residents. The meal comes with all the fixings we know and love—roasted turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, stuffing, salad, rolls, cranberry sauce and dessert—to make sure those who call the coalition home have a traditional and delicious holiday experience. Some of our chefs who have served at the coalition throughout 2019 teamed up to share their top Thanksgiving tips for your own holiday meal prep this year—inspired by a traditional Thanksgiving meal, just like the one our chefs are serving up at the Coalition next week! We have spotted a new cupcake at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and this one will surely “make a splash” with mermaid fans! New Underwater Princess Cupcake at Caribbean Beach Resort The delicious, tropical flavors found at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort eateries carry through to this yummy new option! The Underwater Princess Cupcake consists of pineapple cake filled and topped with coconut buttercream (!!!), blue and lavender icing, and blue crisp pearls. It is adorned with a lavender seashell, and graham cracker “sand”. This cupcake is fit for a mermaid princess! Underwater Princess Cupcake The Underwater Princess Cupcake is one of the more unique Walt Disney World cupcakes we’ve had lately. The coconut buttercream is absolutely delightful. It is perfectly balanced with the pineapple cake, which is dense and not too sweet. We loved cutting it in half and finding even more of that delicious coconut buttercream in the middle. “Melody Time,” a feature film released in 1948, included a musical segment called “Once Upon A Wintertime,” which tells the story of a young couple who take their holiday romance on a sleigh ride through the snow, ice skating on a local pond. After avoiding a near disaster on their journey, the two end their story with a sweet kiss back in their sleigh. “The ‘Once Upon a Wintertime’ characters love to enjoy everything the holiday season has to offer,” Ashley said. “I’d imagine they would love strolling around Epcot International Festival of the Holidays.” View the full article

It’s another exciting day for Disney Parks, Experiences and Products! In addition to the recently announced Thea Awards, the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) also recognized Disney with four Brass Ring Awards for immersive products and atmosphere entertainment. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge hit it out of this galaxy with three Brass Ring Awards for the experiential merchandise items found on Batuu. Best Hard Good Item: The personalized lightsabers created by guests at Savi’s Workshop – Handbuilt Lightsabers. The experience is guided by ancient wisdom, yet crafted by the choices guests make before igniting it with a kyber crystal. Best Visual Merchandising: The custom astromech units built by guests at the Droid Depot that interact with the land. Best Plush: The Porg was recognized not only for item itself, but also for the experience guests have when choosing their very own Porg from the Creature Stall. “We have created an entirely immersive experience that weaves the story of Batuu through every point in the land,” said Kareem Daniel, president, Walt Disney Imagineering Operations, Product Creation, Games and Publishing. “From attractions to products, the creative storytelling of The Walt Disney Company is behind it all to actively engage and immerse Guests in the stories we tell.” Additionally, in the live entertainment category, the Brass Ring Award for Best Atmosphere went to the Green Army Drum Corps — which marches through Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios several times a day playing lively percussion sets with inspiring drum sequences. “It’s incredible to see the effect that atmosphere entertainment has on our guests and the Green Army Drum Corps is no exception,” said David Lightbody, senior vice president for Disney Parks Live -Entertainment. “We are thrilled to have been recognized by IAAPA for this talented group of musicians that help bring Toy Story Land to life and involve our guests in fun and memorable ways.” Congratulations to all of the teams behind these incredible products and experiences! Peter Pan Gondola While you can now fly over Disney World in the new Peter Pan Skyliner Gondola, and will soon be able to see the new STUNNING Peter Pan ceramic mural at Disney’s Riviera Resort (see it being created here!), today we just spotted a huge rolling tribute to one of our favorite classic Disney flicks! Check out the new Peter Pan Bus we just discovered zipping around the Disney World Resort — and look! He’s accompanied by his best pixie pal, Tinkerbell! If you’ve opened the My Disney Experience app today, you may have noticed a few changes! ©Disney While the app helps Disney World guests view their PhotoPass photos, make dining reservations, and order food at participating Counter Service restaurants by using Mobile Order, we noticed something looked different on My Disney Experience today when we tried to create a FastPass! First, we noticed the FastPass search has changed. Before you could filter available FastPasses by morning, afternoon, and evening times. Now, you can search them by the hour — and FastPass times are also by the hour now, not half-hour as they had been previously! My Disney Experience Then we noticed how you modify a FastPass has also changed. You can now select, “change” near the attraction to switch attractions or select “change” next to your arrival time to change the time. In the past, this was done on one screen, but the newly updated My Disney Experience has two separate screens now for these actions! My Disney Experience Another change we noticed is that we can now toggle and refresh to see if any new FastPass times appear. For example, say the earliest time available for an attraction is 5:20 PM. You can toggle the times by grabbing them and pulling them to the right to refresh making potentially earlier times show up! Animal Kingdom Today we stumbled across a totally unexpected and new classic treat addition! We’re talkin’ about the Simba Pretzel, people!! The BRAND NEW Simbe Pretzel, which was almost too precious to eat can be found at Harambe Fruit Market for $6.79. Simba Pretzel Inspired by Rafiki’s cave drawing of little Simba, this new addition is served with cheese dip. Uhm, yes, please! Simba Pretzel While this is simply Mickey Pretzel taking on a new shape, we are loving the option to choose a pretzel character. Disneyland Paris is getting its largest transformation in recent times! Disneyland Paris In addition to Avengers Campus and a totally new immersive hotel experience, the international park will also be receiving a Frozen-themed land. In anticipation of this new, fully immersive land, Disneyland Paris will be bringing the magic of Frozen to life January 11 through May 3, 2020 with the brand new Frozen Celebration. Part of this celebration includes a brand new stage show, Frozen: A Musical Celebration, happening now at Walt Disney Studios Park. ©Disney We finally have additional details on this exciting new stage show that promises to transport guests to the kingdom of Arendelle. Princess Anna will teach guests the magic moves for celebrating her sister’s powers inside Kristoff’s barn. Kristoff and Sven even join in on the action. A live performance of “Reindeers Are Better Than People” from Kristoff himself will transfix the crowd as Queen Elsa prepares for her famous ice palace to open to everyone for the first time. ©Disney In the grand finale, Anna will invite guests to enter a new space that opens directly into Elsa’s Palace where she’ll sing her show-stopping, “Let is Go.” Audience participation welcome! Yoda Plush at Toydarian Toymaker The internet has dubbed this tiny creature as — BABY YODA! While we don’t know who this little guy is just yet…we’re totally obsessed! Baby Yoda One clever Cast Member set up this adorably timely display, that used the Yoda Plush in the “floating crib” we’ve seen him in The Mandalorian. Baby Yoda First of all – SO CUTE! Second of all, we have to ask – when are we going to be able to purchase Baby Yoda (real name unknown!) merchandise for ourselves, Disney?! We want it ALL! We’re back with another BIG EAR announcement! Ever After in Disney Springs While we told you back in September about the new Designer Ears that would be coming to the Disney parks, we only knew the COACH Ears would be released sometime in the fall of 2019! But guess what? Fall is on its way out — and so are the COACH Ears! While COACH fans throughout the galaxy have been celebrating the release of the COACH X Star Wars Collection which just launched last week (read about it here!)now they’ll have ANOTHER reason to put their party pants on! The gorgeous COACH Ears we’ve been waiting for are FINALLY coming to the Disney parks THIS WEEK! And if you haven’t seen what they look like yet, they’re SOOO adorable! The Holiday season is the perfect time to plan a visit to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Holiday Tree of Life Awakenings Their holiday festivities are bigger than ever, including new experiences like the Holiday Version of the Tree of Life Awakening and the Merry Menagerie Puppets and Musicians! To give guests more time to experience all of these new offerings, Disney will be extending the hours at this beloved park. Merry Menagerie Puppets In November, the park will be open select nights until 9:00 PM from the previous 8:00 PM. These evenings include November 25, 26, 27, 29, and 30th. Additionally, morning hours will be extended to 8:00 AM on November 26, 27, and 29. Christmas Greetings from the Animal Kingdom In December, the park will be open select nights until 9:00 PM from the previous 8:00 PM. These evenings include December 22 through 28. On select evenings, the park will be open to 11:00 PM on December 29 and 30, and 12:00 AM Midnight on December 31st (thanks to the new New Year’s Eve offerings). Morning hours will be extended to 8:00 AM on December 23, and December 26-30. Dinoland Holiday Decorations Early January will also see extended hours in addition to one reduced hour. On January 7 the park will close at 6:00 PM from the previous 8:00 PM. The park will now be open until 9:00 PM on January 1-4 and will be opening up one hour earlier at 8:00 AM on January 2-4. Diwali Holiday Dance Party With all the exciting new experiences in Animal Kingdom, we love having extra time to explore them all! Hey friends! It’s time for another roundup of What’s New at Magic Kingdom! Main Street, U.S.A. Here’s where we’ll tell you about all the latest happenings at “The Happiest Place on Earth” including construction, food, and merchandise updates! There’s been A LOT going on at the Magic Kingdom this week now that Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party has hit its groove AND yesterday was Mickey Mouse’s 91st Birthday — wow! He looks great for his age! But anywho, there’s much to discuss, so let’s get started! Main Street, U.S.A. Construction Update at Magic Kingdom Entrance A new entryway for guests arriving by ferryboat is now open! It’s a more direct pathway that leads from the dock directly to the Magic Kingdom’s main gates! Ferryboat Entrance This new set-up should help alleviate some of the bottlenecking that’s been happening at the Magic Kingdom’s entrance now that ferryboat passengers won’t be merging with crowds getting off of resort buses! Ferryboat Entrance TRON Construction Meanwhile, construction with the new TRON Lightcyle Run is staying on track! Here’s a shot of its progress so far! TRON Construction It hasn’t changed all that much since the new exterior track sections were installed last week, but it’s definitely coming along! Well, there were plenty of Mickey Souvenir Sippers on hand to celebrate with at Storybook Treats and Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies! Big Top Treats At Big Top Treats, we noticed they had a little sign out saying they would be making dark chocolate pineapple spears and strawberries by request! Big Top Treats While the dark chocolate options for these treats come and go out from the case, a Cast Member told us since they take a little longer to make they’re making them available by request going forward. Good to know! Big Top Treats Storybook Treats And at Storybook Treats, we cooked up a hack for one of our favorite seasonal snacks, the Gingerbread Sundae!
