We’re just days away from the 2024 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts, and we couldn’t be more excited! EPCOT Festival of the Arts We’re getting ready for lots of fun activities returning this year, the performances during the Disney on Broadway concert series, and all the merchandise that we’ll want to check out on the first day of the fest. But most of all…we’re thinking about the FOOD! And now we have the FULL MENUS to share with you. Click Here to See the FULL menus for the 2024 Festival of the Arts Booths! The 2024 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts runs from January 12th through February 19th, 2024. This EPCOT Festival — the park’s first in the calendar year — made its debut in 2017 and celebrates three artistic disciplines: the Culinary, Visual, and Performing Arts. 2023 EPCOT Festival of the Arts There will be several food booths to choose from, and we don’t know about you, but we’re excited to dig in! Click Here to See the FULL menus for the 2024 Festival of the Arts Booths! NEW Booth and Menu Items In terms of new booths, there’s just one “new” Food Studio. It’s the Cuisine Classique, located near Test Track! This spot will serve “carefully crafted classics, like beef Wellington and roasted mussels.” ©Disney Note that we have seen a Cuisine Classique food booth at this festival in previous years (in 2021 and 2020), but it was located in World Showcase and had different menu items back then. Cuisine Classique We’re looking forward to trying out this spot soon! See ALL the menus for the 2024 Festival of the Arts Booths! Returning Favorites There are several DFB-favorite booths and eats that are returning in 2024! The El Artista Hambriento food booth will return with that amazing Carne Asada. Carne Asada And it’s hard to beat the Pop Eats booth, which will bring back the savory grilled cheese and tomato soup combos! Tomato Soup with pimento cheese, bacon, and fried green tomato grilled cheese The Deconstructed Dish is another favorite of ours, bringing back the deconstructed BLT and Key Lime Pie. Deconstructed BLT We’re super excited that the Vibrante & Vívido booth is returning too, with a couple of old favorites coming back to the menu, like the chorizo and potato empanada. Chorizo and Potato Empanada with turmeric aïoli and annatto aïoli These booths and so many more are going to be at the 2024 festival, and we can’t wait to try them all on January 12th when the festival begins. It’s been nearly a year since Splash Mountain closed its gates for good at Disney World. Splash Mountain Now, we’ve been checking in a few times per week to check out the progress on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure! The upcoming Princess and the Frog-themed ride will share the same ride layout and mechanics (that we know of), but will feature theming straight from the bayou of Louisiana. We’ve seen some GREAT concept art and sneak peeks, and we can never resist seeing the construction take place for ourselves. This week, we checked in on the attraction’s progress and noticed something. Over the past couple weeks, Imagineers have been adding foliage to the attraction to give it that bayou feel. The foliage now covers a lot of the shapes and coloration that made the attraction distinctly Splash Mountain, but now, it has a totally new look! Check it out! Foliage Except… we noticed that one part of the attraction that looked familiar. It’s a stump. However, it’s not just a stump! It looks a lot like the stump that you could see at the tip top of the Splash Mountain attraction. Could this be a nod to Splash? Do you see it? We did some research, and it seems that a lot of folks were thinking the same thing we were. The internet was battling over whether or not the exposed stump is actually a nod to the old attraction. So, we did what anyone else would do. We asked the Frontierland Cast Members and a Coordinator, which is what Disney likes to call managers. The stump The coordinator basically told us that by believing it’s a nod, Disney fans have a great story to tell and a fun way to reminisce on Splash Mountain. However, he didn’t confirm or deny whether or not it was an actual reference to the old attraction. Another Cast Member in the group made an excellent point that the stump has always been there — so why does it have to mean something? Splash Mountain We also asked the Guest Experience team under the blue umbrellas what they thought — just to gather some fun opinions. They seemed to think that the stump is only being left as-is for now, and that it will be made into another tree to be installed. They basically said we’d just have to wait and see what happens. We’ll continue to keep you updated on the Mystery of the Stump, so make sure to follow along for more Disney news. Looking for more new things coming to Frontierland? Click here! 2023 was an interesting year for airlines. Orlando Airport We saw lots of delays and TONS of cancellations in the air travel world, especially closer to the end of the year. It can be very annoying to have your travel plans foiled by a change in your flight — nothing is more frustrating than a last-minute delay or cancellation! When you book your flight to Disney World, you may have a few airlines you purposely avoid. However, based on some new statistics that were just announced, we have a few that we would recommend trying! Cirium just released their “On-Time Performance Review 2023” for airlines and airports. The report is full of useful data such as which airports around the globe saw the highest number of on-time flights (spoiler, Orlando International didn’t make the list). ©Cirium However, since we are mostly concerned with flying into Orlando International Airport, we were curious to find out which airlines were the best to fly on in 2023 in terms of on-time flights. ©Cirium According to the report, the best airline to travel with, if you don’t want to be canceled on nearly as often, is… Delta Airlines! Delta topped all the other airlines in North America with on-time arrivals 84.72% of the time. They had 99.98% of their flights tracked (so we know the on-time arrival statistic is pretty solid) and a completion factor of 98.82%. They had a total of 1,635,486 flights in 2023. Those are pretty excellent stats! ©Delta But we know everyone has their airline preferences, so here are the other top 9 airlines behind Delta from 2023 with the highest percentages of on-time arrivals! Alaska Airlines — 82.25% American Airlines — 80.61% United Airlines — 80.04% Southwest Airlines — 76.26% Spirit Airlines — 71.16% WestJet — 69.29% Frontier Airlines — 68.68% JetBlue Airways — 69.33% Air Canada — 63.17% Alaska Airlines The top ten airlines had an average of 74.45% of on-time arrivals, 98.49% of total flights tracked, and 8,412,060 total flights! We don’t know about you, but we like those odds. If you’re heading to Disney World in 2024, you might want to consider one of these top 10 airlines. Spirit Airlines at Orlando Airport Depending on where you’re traveling from, here’s a look at the top airports in the U.S. and around the world! The top airport with the best on-time departure percentage (84.44%) is… the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport! The next top U.S. airport is Salt Lake City International with an 83.99% on-time departure rate and then Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (83.09%). You can see the full list here: ©Cirium There was a whole lot of flying going on in 2023! Perhaps it was a big part of the revenge travel we had been seeing since Covid-19. Menu items come and go all the time in Disney World. Disney Springs Sometimes we get really attached to a snack, entree, or dessert, and then Disney cruelly snatches it away from us…but by now we’ve gotten used to it. The good news is that some foods also rotate seasonally, so we can comfort ourselves by knowing they’ll come back around in the future. And that’s exactly what happened with one of our favorite eats in Disney Springs! Last year, we tried the French Onion Soup Burger at D-Luxe Burger in Disney Springs. It was made with two pressed signature blend patties with French onion ragù, gruyere, and an herb Parmesan Parker house roll. French Onion Soup Burger The burger came with a Gruyère French onion dip on the side, and we had a pretty hard time finding anything wrong with it. It was incredibly flavorful and very cheesy (you know we love cheesy things!). But we’ll give you a warning — as delicious as it is, this thing causes some BAD BREATH. Even comes with a dip! The burger only stuck around for a little while, and then disappeared from the menu to make way for other seasonal eats…but now it’s back in 2024! Disney hasn’t shared how long it’ll be around, but it popped back up on the D-Luxe Burger online menu this week. We would get this again and again! If you’re heading to Disney Springs soon, we highly recommend trying out this entree! Keep in mind — it’s not the best item to eat if you’re on a date because those onions are STRONG. Pack some gum or breath mints for afterward! Seriously, the consequence of eating this burger is that you won’t want to get within three feet of anyone for a while after you’ve tried it. It’s also pretty messy, so make sure to bring those wet wipes! You’ll be a little greasy after all that cheesy goodness. Inside the burger Despite its messy and smelly flaws, we can’t seem to stay away from this burger — we love it too much! If you’re interested in trying it out, make sure to stop by soon. We’ll keep you in the loop with any more must-have snacks in Disney World. Stay tuned to DFB for all the latest foodie news! 9 of the Best Snacks Under $10 in Disney Springs — Click Here! We just celebrated one of the most festive times of the year in Disney World! Holiday decor at Disney’s Port Orleans resort The parks and hotels were decorated to the nines with beautiful lights, garlands, and trees. Snoap floated in the air and holiday carols filled our ears. We love being in Disney for the holidays. Sadly, it must all come down — we didn’t realize it would be so soon! Thanks to one of our readers, Caroline, we have heard that Disney has started to take down the beautiful holiday display at Port Orleans French Quarter. We agree, Caroline, it’s SO early! Not the tree!! via Caroline Colangelo We realize it’s after January 1st, but couldn’t we have waited just a little bit longer? Our hearts are breaking see the Cast Members tearing it all down. Guess it’s time to say goodbye… via Caroline Colangelo We’re sorry if that beignet you were eating suddenly tasted like sadness, as you saw it all comedown. We hope the sweet treats helped you feel a little better (food always helps us deal with our emotions)! It’s a sad, sad day. via Caroline Colangelo But, alas, it is that time, and we’ll probably be seeing this beginning to happen all around Disney World. It’s hard to swallow that sad truth, but at least now we’re all prepared for it! In the meantime, keep following DFB for Disney news. Here’s a question for you: what kinds of wild new treats do you think those mad Disney food scientists will dream up in the future? We’ve seen everything from squid cocktails to pickle milkshakes, so nothing is off-limits in the world of Disney foods. Welcome to the future! We may not have a crystal ball, but we can visit Tomorrowland for a little futuristic fun. Oh, and we can also try the NEW snacks at a popular quick-service location! Hope you’re not hungry because this post might tempt you to go grab a snack. Over at Disneyland Resort’s Galactic Grill, there are some NEW breakfast items, and (SPOILER ALERT) they both feature some of our FAVORITE treats with a fun twist! Here’s a peek at the menu! What do you get when you combine a classic entree with a unique side dish? You get an A+ in our book! Disney blew our minds with this one: FUNNEL CAKE FRIES, people. Need we say more? The NEW Chicken Tenders and Funnel Cake Fries are served with house-made maple sauce. They are available for $12.99. Chicken Tenders and Funnel Cake Fries Listen, we’ve had many chicken tenders in our time. We’ve had Cosmic Ray’s tenders, Chicken Guy! tenders, and every kind of chicken tender in between. We know what a good chicken tender tastes like, and this is it. Our tenders were nice and crispy with moist, juicy chicken. As you may know, we’re big sauce people around here, and the sweet maple sauce took these to the next level. Funnel Cake FRIES, people! To the person who created this combination of funnel cake, fried chicken, and maple sauce, THANK YOU. The crispy chicken strips and maple sauce went together perfectly! The funnel cake fries were sweet and slightly crunchy but soft and doughy inside — just how we like our funnel cake. The fries were also topped with a light dusting of powdered sugar that gave us the perfect hit of sweetness. If you’re looking for a sweet and savory breakfast option, give this a try! You HAVE to dip ’em! Of course, we had to grab a drink to wash all that food down, so we tried the new Chocolate Cinnamon Comet Cold Brew. It’s made with Joffrey’s Coffee Cold Brew, hazelnut syrup, and a cinnamon chocolate cream cold foam. Of course, this drink’s real claim to fame is that big churro topping. YUM! You can grab this one for $6.79. Chocolate Cinnamon Comet Cold Brew We are happy to report that this was another winner! The strongest flavor here is (unsurprisingly) the cold brew. But each sip also gave us a spiced cinnamon aftertaste with a hint of chocolatey flavor. Honestly, we weren’t really getting any hazelnut flavors here. Oh, and fair warning — the churro isn’t the same as the classic Disneyland churros you can buy at various snack carts. Instead, ours was a little harder and didn’t have as much of that sweet cinnamon flavor as a classic Disneyland churro. But hey — when it’s soaking in a cup of cold brew, you can’t expect it to taste the same as a fresh churro. There’s a whole CHURRO in there! Galactic Grill is bringing the SWEETS for breakfast! Now, all we have to do is figure out how to avoid that inevitable sugar crash. It’s no secret that Disney World can be expensive. Magic Kingdom By the time you’ve booked the flight, reserved the hotel, and paid for the tickets, you’ve spent a LOT of money. When you get there, you then have to think about other expenses, like dining. Dining in Disney World can be expensive, but you know what? It doesn’t have to be. So we’re going to tell you a little story about a super cheap lunch in Disney World that could please everyone in your group. So we’re going to tell you about the time we got the Turkey Sandwich Kid’s Pack. This little handy meal came from Pinocchio Village Haus and only set us back $7.79. If you have three people in your party, that’s less than $30 to feed everyone. Turkey Sandwich Kid’s Pack This is what you get in the pack: Sliced Roasted Turkey Breast and Cheddar on Honey-Wheat Bread with Apple Chips, Cucumber, and Grape Tomatoes. Yes, it’s labeled as a Kid’s meal, but as you can get it at pretty much any counter service restaurant, adults can buy it, too. There’s also a Ham and Cheese version. A closer look Okay, so what did we think about this super cheap meal? Well, it actually surprised us. You might expect a sandwich in something like this to be stale by the time you get it, but we found it to be pretty fresh. Even the bread tasted fresh. The honey-wheat flavor came through really well, too. You also get mustard and mayo so you can dress your sandwich up however you want, which comes in handy because the rest is just a turkey and cheese sandwich. This is a solid sandwich We also loved that it came with fruit and veggies, which also makes it a relatively healthy option, too (something you don’t often find at this price point). We found the grapes and vegetables to be fresh, too, which…again…surprised us. Fresh veggies! So this is a good option for both adults AND kids, but an adult might want to know if it’s filling. Well, we thought so, and it’s especially good if you’re looking for a lighter and more on the go option. Also, because it’s so cheap, it might leave some room in your budget later for dessert. We’re sold It wasn’t the most interesting thing we’ve ever had in Magic Kingdom, but if you’re looking to save some money on food while you’re visiting the park, just know that we’ve approved of it. Also, don’t forget to ask for your free cup of water, too, to be even more frugal! Don’t forget your free water So it is VERY possible to eat on a tight budget at Disney World, and we’re always looking for ways to help you save more money on your trip. One of our favorite things to do when one year ends and a new one begins is to watch the Google Year in Search. ©Google Each year, Google makes a (very emotional) video that highlights the most-searched topics and events of that year, all compiled with video footage from social media and professional media outlets, as well as songs that are popular from the year. Yep, they make us cry about as much as Pixar movies. Well, the Google Year in Search looked a little different in 2023. You see, 2023 marked 25 years of Google, and as a result, this year’s video became “25 Years in Search,” where the most-searched topics and events in Google HISTORY were showcased. The results are pretty amazing. One thing that caught our attention was that the most-Googled toy in history was included in the video. Any guesses as to what it it? The most-Googled toy in history ISSSSS…. BARBIE! Barbie! It probably comes as no surprise that the iconic MATTEL toy has been Googled again and again for the past 25 years, especially with Greta Gerwig’s 2023 Barbie movie that caused a resurgence of the brand. (We say resurgence, but come on. Barbie has ALWAYS been relevant. ) ©WB This is such a huge achievement, and MATTEL even shared a post on Instagram when the 25 Years in Search video was released. via @mattel on Instagram Wow! We’re so glad that Barbie is getting the hype she deserves, as a toy that has, in the words of the narrator featured in the Google video, “showed girls they could be anything they dreamed of.” Because of the mere fact that the brand highlights the idea that compassion, drive, kindness, and brains will take you ANYWHERE in life (and that all of those things are way more fun when you’re wearing pink), we think this is awesome. We’ll continue to keep you updated with more Disney, entertainment, and travel news, so make sure to follow along so that you’re always in the loop. Watching the shows at Disney World can be an unforgettable experience — for better or worse. Spaceship Earth While Disney World has a lot of new things planned for 2024, it is also bringing back new-ish shows and events. One of those returning shows is Luminous The Symphony of Us, which debuted in EPCOT on December 5th, 2023. The show is held in World Showcase Lagoon and, with that, presents an interesting challenge in viewing. Luminous may be a divisive EPCOT show, but we recommend seeing it for yourself to form an opinion. As for where to see it, we have some thoughts on places in EPCOT to watch the show, and places you should avoid if you want a decent view. After taking into account our own opinions and listening to what YOU have to say, we have come up with a list of BEST and WORST spots to watch Luminous! The Best Spots Our readers were very high on watching Luminous from the Mexico Pavilion. One wrote, “We were close to Bridge by Mexico and it was Fantabulous!!” Mexico Pavilion We also saw some positive buzz about the Norway Pavilion when it comes to Luminous views. One of our readers felt the show has pretty good visibility from all around the lake and that Norway is a very good spot to get a clean look at EPCOT’s latest show. Norway Pavilion Easily the most hyped-up spot to watch Luminous from is Rose and Crown in the United Kingdom Pavilion. Readers reported very positive experiences with the Rose & Crown Fireworks Dinner Package and another said they had a good view from just standing near the pub. If you want to get a guaranteed view of the show, this may be the best option to explore. Rose and Crown Our reporters were keen on watching Luminous from the Germany Pavilion. We found that if you get there extra early you may even secure a bench or table. Germany Pavilion We also found that the center of World Showcase Plaza between Disney Traders and Port of Entry is a strong choice to watch the show from. World Showcase Plaza You get a straight-on view while being closer to the barges on that side of the lagoon, and it’s usually a solid spot for any EPCOT nighttime show especially when there isn’t a festival ongoing. The Worst Spots Our reporters have had pretty miserable experiences viewing Luminous from the Japan Pavilion. It seems as though no matter where you stand, something will block your view. To make matters worse, if you go closer to the water you’ll be hard-pressed to find standing or sitting room. You could go up the steps of Mitsukoshi, but you’ll see have to peek between the trees. Japan Pavilion Readers also took issue with the views from the Morocco Pavilion. Tucked away near the back, we could see how views could be rougher here. Morocco Pavilion Speaking of being tucked away in the back, the Italy Pavilion provides similar changes to Morocco. Unless you’re by the left side towards the American Adventure Pavilion, you’ll have a hard time seeing the barges. Italy Pavilion in EPCOT With that said, being in the American Adventure Pavilion doesn’t guarantee a good view of Luminous either. A reader commented on their rough go of it from that pavilion, sighting the difficulty of seeing through the trees. American Adventure Pavilion Overall, a common theme we saw regarding bad spots to watch Luminous from was anywhere that challenges the vertically challenged. China Pavilion Crowds Whether it be a spot with an excess of trees or just a hotspot of dads over six feet tall with kiddos on their shoulders, location won’t really matter if you find one of these obstacles blocking your view. Your best bet is to always find a spot that works for you, and find it early to stake your claim. Whether it’s for Luminous or any Disney World show, we’re always here to help give you the best tips, tricks, and advice on how to tackle your next Disney World vacation. Although 2024 has only just begun, The Walt Disney Company is already making some big moves this year. Disney World The date of Disney’s first shareholder meeting of 2024 has yet to be announced, but ahead of the meeting, Disney shared a major update. On January 3rd, 2024, Disney announced that it struck an agreement with ValueAct Capital Management. The agreement “enables the company to provide information to the investment firm and consult with ValueAct on strategic matters, including through meetings with the Disney Board and management.” Disney also confirmed that the investment firm will support the Disney Board of Directors’ recommended slate of nominees for election to the Board at the 2024 Annual Meeting. ©Disney As part of the company’s announcement, Disney explained, “ValueAct has extensive experience investing in media and technology companies navigating significant business transformations, including Spotify, The New York Times, 21st Century Fox, Nintendo, Microsoft, Adobe and Salesforce.” Disney CEO Bob Iger said, “ValueAct Capital has a track record of collaboration and cooperation with the companies it invests in, and its Co-CEO Mason Morfit has been very constructive in the conversations we’ve had over the past year. We welcome their input as long-term shareholders.” ©ValueAct Capital Mason Morfit, ValueAct Capital Co-CEO and Chief Investment Officer, added, “Disney is the world’s leading entertainment company. It has the best intellectual property, sports brand and parks & experiences assets in the industry. As legacy technologies transition to digital platforms, we believe Disney can lead the media industry forward. We could not be more excited to partner with Bob and the Board to help create long-term sustainable shareholder value.” ©Disney | Walt Disney Company Headquarters This development comes amid Disney’s proxy battle with activist investor Nelson Peltz and his firm Trian Partners. Trian’s Disney stock is valued at around $3 billion, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Disney did not reveal the value of ValueAct’s stake in The Walt Disney Company. ©Trian Partners We previously reported that Trian nominated Peltz and former Disney CFO James Rasulo to the Walt Disney Company board back in December. Trian released a statement reading, in part, that the group “Believes the Disney Board’s lack of focus, alignment, and accountability has resulted in chronic underperformance at one of the world’s most iconic companies.” ©MasterClass As of January 3rd, 2024, The Walt Disney Company’s stock is valued at $90.83. On this same date last year, the stock was valued at $88.68 at close, according to Yahoo Finance. Disney stock price as of January 3rd, 2024. We will continue to look for updates in the Peltz/Disney proxy battle. As previously mentioned, Disney has not announced a date for the 2024 Annual Shareholder Meeting, though, in 2023, The Walt Disney Company’s Annual Meeting was held Monday, April 3rd, 2023, by virtual meeting. We know it’s inconvenient if you’ve booked a Disney World vacation way ahead of time and then you get there to find out your favorite ride is closed. Animal Kingdom Sometimes, we do get SOME notice about ride closures in advance, although some rides close temporarily due to technical issues. Refurbishment schedules are also something to consider, and some rides end up having lengthy refurbishments (aka maintenance, touching up, etc.) that could last months. Well, we’ve got an update on one such refurbishment. We previously told you that Kali River Rapids in Disney’s Animal Kingdom would close for refurbishment starting on January 8th. Kali River Rapids Well, we now know just how long this ride will be closed in Disney World. According to the Disney World website, Kali River Rapids will be closed until at least mid-March. That’s a closure of a few months. ©Disney This is pretty common for the earlier months of the year when you see cooler temperatures in Disney World, so guests aren’t as excited about the water rides in the parks. You don’t really want to get soaked when it’s only 50 degrees outside! Try not to get wet! Kali River Rapids is also just one of many closures at this time. Some other closures include a short refurbishment for the Skyliner, a lengthy closure for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster in Hollywood Studios, and a brief closure for Big Thunder Mountain in Magic Kingdom. Kali River Rapids So what should you do if you’re in Disney World and your favorite ride is closed? Well, you don’t have many options if it’s for something like a refurbishment. You could try to find a similar ride or re-organize your priorities to add something else to your daily itinerary. Maybe you’ll have a chance to discover a new favorite ride in Disney World. This is also why we recommend checking the Disney World calendar before your trip so you can plan accordingly before you arrive. Find some NEW things to do in Animal Kingdom So what should you do in Animal Kingdom instead? Well, you could visit the nearby Maharajah Jungle Trek and see REAL tigers. Or maybe take in the Feathered Friends in Flight! show that is EXTREMELY underrated. Want another boat ride? Na’vi River Journey might not be quite as exciting, but it certainly has its moments (be sure to take some time to appreciate the Shaman animatronic). Kali River Rapids closed? Visit the nearby Maharajah Jungle Trek and see tigers! We’ll keep an eye on the Disney World calendar, too, and let you know when we spot any closures like these. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Well, it’s official. It’s a New Year in Disney World! ©shopDisney We’ve finally said goodbye to 2023 and will soon be saying hello to a lot of new things in Disney World, including regular park hopping, some new restaurants, the EPCOT Festival of the Arts, and more! But we’ve been keeping an eye on things in Disney World to see what’s trending, and we’ve got an idea of what we think will be trending this year. So what’s going to be popular in Disney World in 2024? Well, here’s what we think you’ll see. Trendy Sneakers The shoes you wear to Disney World can literally make or break your vacation. Wear the wrong shoes and you’ll end up with blisters and sore feet. Now, we’ve told you all about the shoes that we recommend for your next Disney World trip, but we are already seeing some preferred brands out there in the parks. Make sure everyone has good walking shoes We’re seeing a lot Disney World visitors sporting Hokas (and we get why — they are so cushiony and comfy). We’re also seeing a lot of On Cloud 5 sneakers, which are also a pricey option, but known for their comfort. New Shoes You Can Count on To Last Through a 10-Mile Disney World Day Disney Dining Plan The Disney Dining Plan returns in 2024, and well, we think a LOT of folks are going to be using it, especially with it being offered for FREE for Disney+ members during the first half of the year. This means that you’re probably going to find it even HARDER to book a lot of table service restaurants, especially those signature restaurants that are only going to cost one table service credit. Breakfast Is the Disney Dining Plan right for you? Well, that’s for you to decide, but we suggest doing the math and adding up everything you’re planning on eating on your trip. It’s likely the Dining Plan could cost more money than the actual food you buy. However, you sure can’t beat the Dining Plan’s convenience. Why You’ll Be Disappointed by Disney’s New Dining Plan nuiMOs Those cute little nuiMOs plushes were popular in 2023, and they’re going to be even MORE popular in 2024. Disney continues to release new characters every month, and along with that are LOADS of new outfits. You can even match your DisneyBounds with the plushes DisneyBounds. Cinderella nuiMOs So be looking for those little souvenirs everywhere. Warning: once you get one, you’re hooked and you’ll want to buy ALL the outfits. Disney knows what it’s doing. SNEAK PEEK at 7 NEW Disney Souvenirs, Including an EXCLUSIVE Loungefly Bag! Disney Snack Merchandise We’ll admit that we lost our minds when Disney recently revealed that all new snack merchandise was on the way. This new merchandise will celebrate our favorite Disney things EVER, like Mickey bars, Mickey pretzels, Mickey donuts, and more! We WANT IT ALL. ©Disney We know we’re not alone in our obsession of this new upcoming merchandise either. We also think the Popcorn Bucket Crossbody Bag will be the first thing to sell out. Get a first look at the new snack merchandise Princess And The Frog Merchandise Princess Tiana and her friends are about to become SUPER popular all over again, at least in late 2024, when an all-new Princess and the Frog-themed ride opens in Magic Kingdom. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will take us through an all-new story that picks up AFTER The Princess and the Frog and we can’t wait to see what the bayou has in store for us. @Disney Of course, a new ride means…what else? NEW MERCHANDISE. We’re sure there are going to be LOADS of new Tiana-themed things to buy and EVERYONE is going to want to get their hands on those new souvenirs. FIRST LOOK INSIDE Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Disney World! The “It” Water Bottle Okay, EVERYONE has a favorite water bottle, but some are pretty trendy, especially in Disney World. First, it was Corkcicle (and it doesn’t hurt that there’s a Corkcicle kiosk at Disney Springs). We’ve also seen a lot of Yeti Tumblers, Owala’s, as well as Hydro Flasks. Stanley is also a popular brand. ©Amazon Our team, though, thinks the Owala could be the next big water bottle brand to become HUGE in Disney World. This Is the Water Bottle That Literally Everyone Takes to Disney World So those are the trends we think we’ll see in Disney World in 2024, but we’re sure some new ones will also surprise us. Stay tuned to DFB for more. Terrible Things I Totally Recommend in Disney World in 2024 Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! Click here to Subscribe! We’re at a loss for words. Genie+ Ok, not really. We’re never at a complete loss of words here at DFB, but we are certainly confused right now. There’s a strange new Genie+ trend that we’ve noticed in Disney World and it has us questioning everything we thought we knew. Here’s what we’ve been seeing! Check it out, and let us know if we’re the only ones who are baffled right now! Today, January 3rd, Magic Kingdom is once again SOLD OUT of park passes. This would tell us that it is going to be a very busy day in the parks, right? ©Disney Well, when we got to the park, there were certainly lots of people! It was very crowded and we saw some very long lines over in Tomorrowland. We hope you already got your morning coffee! Space Mountain’s line was nowhere near the actual entrance of the ride, that’s how long it was! Space Mountain line When we say it’s been busy the last few days in Disney World, we genuinely mean it. Since Christmas, we haven’t seen the crowds slow down at all. But what has us baffled are the Genie+ prices we’ve been seeing for the past three days. Disney Genie Pamphlet Instead of staying high at the record-breaking $39 for the Multiple Parks and Magic Kingdom options (and high prices for all the other parks), we’ve been seeing Genie+ DROPPING in price! Tell us we’re not the only ones surprised by this. On January 3rd, the Genie+ options are as follows: Multiple Parks — $27 Magic Kingdom — $27 EPCOT — $19 Hollywood Studios — $24 Animal Kingdom — $17 ©Disney These prices are WAY down from New Year’s Eve and are down just from yesterday! Yesterday, Genie+ was at $29 for Multiple Parks and Magic Kingdom — $2 more than what we’re seeing today, an equally busy day in the parks. ©Disney| January 2nd prices Normally, we see Genie+ prices match the crowds. So when the crowds are high, Genie+ is generally high. The continual dropping in prices as the crowds are still high is very odd to us, but we’re certainly not mad about it! Crowds on January 2nd and January 3rd are still very high! As a reminder, Genie+ is the handy virtual assistant on the Disney World app. You can purchase Genie+ at midnight on the day of your trip and then use it to purchase Lightning Lanes (Disney’s line pass system) at 7AM that same day. There are also Individual Lightning Lanes that you can purchase separately on the day of your trip (you don’t need to purchase Genie+ to buy these). These can be really convenient tools, especially on busy days in the parks! We’ll be on the lookout for more odd Genie+ trends, but in the meantime, keep following DFB for more Disney news! You pay for the plan upfront and then get a certain number of credits to use at Disney World restaurants and snack stands. To help you prepare for your trip and decide whether buying a Dining Plan is worth it for you, here’s a full list of all the quick service restaurants that accept the Disney Dining Plan. First, here’s a quick overview of what the Disney Dining Plans are. Disney Dining Plans are an optional add-on to a Disney World Vacation Package (which also includes your Disney World hotel room and theme park tickets.)
