  1. Did you know that you can skip the order line at select quick-service dining locations at Walt Disney World Resort? All you need is your smartphone and the My Disney Experience app, which lets you order, pay for and pick up fresh meals and snacks on demand right from your fingertips. And today, Walt Disney World Resort celebrated a very special milestone for this service: 1 million mobile orders! Chef Mickey Mouse was on hand at Magic Kingdom Park to commemorate the occasion with the Walt Disney World Resort Ambassadors, as well as cast members who have helped guests order, pick up and enjoy many of these million mobile orders. Together, they surprised and honored the Ramos family from Winston-Salem, North Carolina as they picked up their mobile order of Dole® Whip items at Aloha Isle. Take a look below to see their reaction! In addition to this unforgettable moment, the Ramoses received a gift card which they can use to pay for up to $500 of food and beverage mobile orders at any of the more than 20 participating quick service dining locations throughout Walt Disney World Resort. The mobile order service has provided guests like the Ramos family with the convenience and flexibility of ordering hours or even minutes in advance from wherever they happen to be – whether waiting in line at an attraction, on the monorail headed to the parks or even upon their arrival at the restaurant. The service debuted last year and has since expanded to Disneyland Resort as well, currently available at more than 20 quick-service dining locations across Disneyland park and Disney California Adventure park. Be sure to download the My Disney Experience and Disneyland apps in the App Store for iOS devices and Google Play for Android devices to take advantage of mobile ordering during your next visit to the parks! 2. Season’s greetings! No matter where your holiday travels take you this year, something enchanting awaits you at each of our Disney Parks. Now through the New Year, we’re ringing in the most wonderful time of the year with special celebrations and enchanting experiences across the (snow)globe. At Disneyland Paris, wake up, grab a cup of hot cocoa and see the reason for the season in the form of a larger-than-life advent calendar in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle. The Disney Christmas Parade is now bringing cheer not once but twice daily down a snow-sprinkled Main Street, U.S.A. and past a tinsel-twinkling Christmas tree. Keep an eye out for Stitch on the Royal Castle Stage as he wrecks the halls for A Merry Stitchmas. Celebrate 90 years of magic and fun with Mickey Mouse during Mickey’s Christmas Big Band at Walt Disney Studios Park, including a drum solo by Mickey himself. The new Surprise Mickey! show is your chance to join in a very special birthday surprise while celebrating the merriest time of year. Wrap up your day with Goofy’s Incredible Christmas, an immersive nighttime show with incredible special effects and a whole lot of Goof projected onto The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. This year, Tokyo Disneyland multiplies the cheer of Christmas times 35 for the resort’s 35th anniversary. Such a milestone celebration calls for a spectacular Christmas tree on the Fantasyland side of Cinderella Castle, with the 35th anniversary logo incorporated throughout its decor. Across the way at Tokyo DisneySea, a new show, “It’s Christmas Time,” brings a colorful revue to the Mediterranean Harbor every day. If you have long been dreaming of a white Christmas, your dreams will come true this year at Shanghai Disney Resort! A magical winter snowfall takes place nightly during the new “Mickey Avenue Winter Wonderland” show, while the “When We’re Together” tree lighting ceremony at Enchanted Storybook Castle features the playful snowman Olaf. And whether you’ve been naughty or “ice,” glide over to the resort’s new Wishing Star Skating Rink in the center of Disneytown Christmas Market starting December 7. Finally, there’s no place like Hong Kong Disneyland for the holidays where Fantasy Gardens has been transformed into the Fantasy Gardens Wintertime Market. If caroling is more your cup of Christmas tea, join Mickey and the gang during a one-of-a-kind Mickey and Friends Christmastime Ball. This 20-minute musical extravaganza will definitely help you get your yuletide going this season! All your favorite Disney characters will come together to share the joy, including Duffy’s new friend Cookie who joins in the Christmas celebration for the first time. No matter where you spend the holidays this year, Disney Parks are sure to dole out Christmas cheer. Happy holidays from all of us to all of you! View the full article
  3. You never know exactly what you’ll find at Heritage Manor Gifts at The American Adventure Pavilion in Epcot! Heritage Manor Gifts This merchandise shop has been home to a variety of items from flavored moonshine to a full array of apparel and home goods representing each of the 50 United States. It’s been a while, though, since they’ve had any large selection of snacks in stock. For a time, Claey’s Old Fashioned Hard Candy was one of the sole treats you could find here. So on our recent visit, we were surprised to see a whole new batch. Snacks in Heritage Manor Gifts Well, maybe “new” isn’t exactly the right word… because while these snacks are a recent addition to the store itself, what you’ll primarily find are some real classics like Cracker Jack (don’t forget your prize inside!) and Animal Crackers. Well, both the stage and show are now back! Adrian & Edith’s Head to Toe window art The original artwork is still in the windows, but we spotted two new window signs! New Sweet Treats Window Art The new signage is candy-focused (of course!) and says “We’ve got treats for every craving!” and “Make your day a little sweeter!” So it looks like this is the replacement for Sweet Spells after all. 8. When I set out on my first-ever Adventures by Disney trip earlier this year, I only knew the basic details of what the experience would be like: The planning was done for me, so all I had to do was show up. I’d be traveling with a small group of other families. There would be two specially trained Adventure Guides on the trip. It wasn’t until seven days later — after exploring the wonders of Yellowstone National Park, trying my hand at glamping and living like a local at a ranch in Montana — that I realized just how special these vacations really are. Now, in my new role with Adventures by Disney, I get to see the inner workings of Disney’s group guided family vacations … and I get to share them with you! So, from a rookie Adventurer to my new friends on the Disney Parks Blog, here are a few things I learned during my first Adventures by Disney trip: When they say “hassle free,” they really mean it. Not only are you signing up for a fully planned vacation (complete with adventure, culture, history, nature, hands-on activities and more – no guesswork needed!), but you’re also opting OUT of all logistical planning, from transfers and accommodations all the way down to getting your luggage from place to place. Adventures by Disney takes care of every detail and it. is. divine. Case in point: During the Montana trip, my luggage magically made its way from hotel to tent to cabin — I never had to lift a finger. Now that’s service. New friends are half the fun! What starts as a small group of strangers quickly becomes one big, happy family. This was my first foray into group travel, and I was surprised by how impactful it was to share these bucket list experiences with other people. It was especially fun to watch the group of kids, spanning ages 6 to 17, playing together as if they’d been best friends for years. We adults made new friends too, which made meals and activities even more enjoyable, and everyone got some alone time with their loved ones too. Win-win-win! Disney Adventure Guides are the fairy godmothers of travel. Seriously, these people are made of a special kind of magic. They are tour guide, camp counselor, concierge and entertainment host with an extra dash of pixie dust just for fun. Adventure Guides ensure our guests enjoy a premier experience every single trip, marked by signature Disney service, expertise and storytelling. (I’m still trying to figure out how to hire a personal Adventure Guide for everyday life … keep you posted.) Visit adventuresbydisney.com for more information on the Montana itinerary and other vacation options with Adventures by Disney. View the full article
  9. A new family-friendly Disney hotel based on the Disney·Pixar “Toy Story” films is coming soon to Tokyo Disney Resort! From the hotel exterior to the spacious gardens, guests will enjoy a world where everything looks like it’s made of toys. The guest rooms are inspired by Andy’s bedroom, including Woody, Buzz Lightyear and their friends, with colorful furniture and other immersive features inspired by the world of “Toy Story.” The hotel will also include dining and shopping. This comes on the heels of major upcoming development plans at both Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea over the next few years. The approximately 600-room hotel is projected to open during the resort’s fiscal year 2021. Stay tuned as we share more details about the exciting developments underway at Tokyo Disney Resort. 13. The Animal Kingdom is always a fun park to visit, and this week’s visit kept us busy with lots of new items including #Mickey90 ears, some fun Christmas gifts, new food, and construction updates. Hello from Animal Kingdom We love how relaxed this scene makes us feel — before we dash around the park! Here’s everything we found this week. What’s New on Animal Kingdom’s Discovery Island Well, one thing we didn’t find was the new (and awesome) tumbler at Creature Comforts, this park’s Starbucks location. When we asked about it we were told it was sold out. Animal Kingdom Hot Drink Tumbler They do have plenty of the “older” and equally awesome tumblers with Mickey on them. Want to know what we’re talking about? Check out our post on the new tumbler here. Starbucks Park Mugs at Creature Comforts Even though it is still labeled a Thanksgiving cupcake, we spotted the turkey cupcake in the bakery case! We also saw this turkey cupcake is still the specialty cupcake at Pizzafari and Restaurantosaurus. Creature Comforts Bakery Case What’s New in Animal Kingdom’s Africa If you’re looking for the snowman stein or gingerbread Mickey straw for your drink, head to Mahindi where you’ll find all of these — plus the return of the Animal Kingdom Drink Canteen. The Canteen wasn’t available when the holiday items first came out, but it is back now. Also, hot chocolate is available! Mahindi If you’re looking for a cup of coffee to warm up on these “chilly” Florida days, stop over at Dawa Bar where they’ve added Coffee with Amarula to their offerings — as well as bagged chips. Dawa Bar Coffee with Amarula Dawa Bar Bagged Chips Quite suitably, Cuties mandarins are now available at the Harambe Fruit Market! Cuties at Harambe Fruit Market Cuties at Harambe Fruit Market We noticed the Shave Ice Cart was not in Harambe Market on the day we in the park. We don’t know if this is now seasonal, or just because of the cold snap we’ve had. We’ll keep you updated on the status of the cart. Harambe Market Shave Ice Cart Where Are You? What’s New in Animal Kingdom’s Asia Yeah! The construction walls are down and the construction is complete for both Upcountry Landing and Drinkwallah. New Lower Garden Seating Upcountry Landing See a full photo tour and information about the Animal Kingdom Drinkwallah and Upcountry Landing areas in our post here. Royal Anandapur Tea Company has seasonal drinks on their menu. Enjoy a Peppermint Mocha Latte or White Chocolate Gingerbread Latte — plus you can “make it spirited” with your preferred cordial! And now you can enjoy your eats and drinks while sitting on some of the added picnic tables we saw around Dinoland. Old Elephant Foot IPA at Dino Bite Snacks, Dino Diner, and Trilo Bites Added seating around Dinoland Chester and Hester’s was a fun stop for us, because we saw the Mickey Mouse Club merch that made its debut in World of Disney in this store as well. Mickey Mouse Club Merchandise We also found these new, super cool Ugears model building sets. There are three options with these — a Walt Disney Railroad Engine, Monorail, or Main Street Trolley. Ugears Models The detail on these is amazing. 23. Once or twice in your lifetime, you get an opportunity to be a part of something truly special. Growing up in household full of Disney fans, the year 1928 was a year just as important as the year 1776. If it were up to my father, November 18th would be a national holiday. My siblings and I grew up humming the music from the parks and could recite every word of our large collection of Disney VHS tapes. Mickey Mouse has always been synonymous with fun and family, and celebrating 90 years of this incredible legacy is no small task. That’s why when the Disney Gift Card team came together wanting a special card to commemorate this milestone anniversary, we knew it had to be something we had never done before. Mickey Mouse is a star like no other and it was clear from the very beginning that our commemorative Disney Gift Card in his honor needed to shine (pun intended). Justin Hamana, Graphic Designer with Walt Disney Imagineering, developed the concept of a crystal-encrusted Disney Gift Card to honor this milestone anniversary. Specialists from Swarovski took the task all the way to Austria and developed a brand-new way to adhere crystals to the entire face of the card, something that had never been done before. The card looks incredible, but what struck me the first time I held it in my hand was how substantial it feels. All 5,000 cards are made with a metal core, encased in a protective plastic, and encrusted with over 2,500 premium Swarovski crystals. Not to mention a custom box almost as stunning as the card itself. Ready for display, the magnetic-closure box is the first to carry the Disney Gift Card Collector’s Series insignia and includes a vellum certificate describing the grandeur of the card. You may have seen some coverage of the Destination D event last weekend where a select number of these cards were made available to D23 members in attendance. But now it’s your turn. If you find yourself at Walt Disney World Resort or Disneyland Resort, you can take one of these limited-edition cards home for yourself. For $300, you receive one of the only 5,000 premium gift cards produced, nestled in a box ready for display, loaded with $90 redeemable for practically all things Disney — from Theme Park tickets, resort stays, Disney vacations and dining, and all the Mickey merchandise you could imagine at Disney locations across the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. The Disney Gift Card Collector’s Series will be available for purchase starting December 4, 2018 at the locations below (while supplies last.) Walt Disney World Resort Magic Kingdom Park Main Street Cinema Epcot The Art of Disney Disney Springs The Art of Disney Ever After Jewelry Co. & Accessories Disneyland Resort Disneyland Park Disneyana Disney California Adventure Park Off the Page Downtown Disney District WonderGround Gallery If you do get your hands on an inaugural card in our Disney Gift Card Collector’s Series, know that it can be redeemed for practically all things Disney by scanning the barcode on the back. There is no magnetic strip, so your card will never be swiped. However, if don’t want to carry it around in your wallet, know that you can merge the $90 onto a standard Disney Gift Card at DisneyGiftCard.com. Walt reminded us all years ago “that it was all started by a mouse” and I think all of us Disney fans and cast members take that to heart. So, on behalf of Disney Gift Card, I want to wish Mickey Mouse a heartfelt Happy Birthday and many more years of his magic. View the full article

  25. One of our favorite times to visit the Magic Kingdom is in November and December when the park is dressed up for the holidays. While we were there this week we found new merchandise, checked out construction progress, spotted some of Mickey’s birthday treats and merchandise still hanging around, plus found a new exit to a popular ride! A Happy Holiday Hello from the Magic Kingdom! Let’s start this week’s update out on Main Street U.S.A. where we found new dresses, purses, yummy treats, and a Minnie sink as well as sweet ways to continue celebrating Mickey’s 90th! Continue Mickey’s 90th Celebrations with Treats and Sweets Our first sweet stop was in the Confectionery, nothing beats a gaze into the bakery cases here! We are interested to see what, if anything, replaces the mural.
