Hey, food-lovin’ friends! If you know us, you know we are quite fond of Troubadour Tavern in Disneyland. We love stopping here to grab some delicious German food like a bratwurst sausage or stuffed potato. BBQ Chicken Stuffed Baked Potato Well, when stopping by on our most recent visit, we noticed a new-to-us menu addition that we got pretty excited about! The new BBQ Chicken Stuffed Baked Potato is somewhat akin to the bbq chicken stuffed potato that we saw a while back at Harbour Galley. We often find that these two locations switch menu items back and forth, so if you don’t find something previously on the menu at one location, you just might find it at the other. BBQ Chicken Stuffed Baked Potato The BBQ Chicken Stuffed Baked Potato ($8.49) is filled with BBQ chicken, butter, chipotle sour cream, and cilantro. BBQ Chicken Stuffed Baked Potato It’s got a great tangy yet mild BBQ sauce, plus a hint of smokiness from the chipotle mayo. We also enjoyed the size of the potato for the price, especially since the shredded chicken brings an added heartiness to the whole thing. Overall, we really enjoyed it! BBQ Chicken Stuffed Baked Potato You can use your Annual Passholder discount on this potato delight which will bring your spud’s price down to $7.78! And if you’re looking to grab a quick bite at this spot, make sure to check out our full Troubadour Tavern review. Do you have a favorite stuffed potato treat? Let us know in the comments below! Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar will celebrate its 4th anniversary this fall and it continues to be one of my favorite watering holes at Disney Springs. If you haven’t been, there’s never a bad time to visit. Walt Disney Imagineers did an incredible job creating this 1940s-era plane hangar filled with themed décor from ceiling to floor all based around fictional character, Jock Lindsey. Who is Jock Lindsey you ask? You’ll spot him in the film “Raiders of the Lost Ark” portrayed by Fred Sorenson who’s an actual airline pilot. Although Fred only appeared in the film for about a minute, his character inspired Imagineers to develop a whole lounge and menu dedicated to his global adventures with Indiana Jones. When I heard Fred was planning to spend his 70th birthday at Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar, I just had to meet the man who inspired one of my favorite spots at Disney Springs. I had the pleasure to chat with Fred this past weekend and ask him a few questions about his career and his thoughts on how the Imagineers captured his beloved character. Check it out! It’s been a while since you were in Raiders of the Lost Ark, but obviously, that was a huge part of your life. When you visit Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar, does it bring you back to those days? “Yes! Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar represents the essence of what I’ve done and continue to do every day. I’m still an active pilot for a charter company and I also help deliver airplanes all over the world. That’s actually how I got the role of Jock Lindsey—I was helping the film crew look for a plane to use in movie and they also needed someone to help deliver and get it set up, then I was asked if I would be interested in portraying Jock Lindsey!” What’s your favorite item on the menu at Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar? “That’s a tough one—I’d have to say the Reggie’s Revenge cocktail.” Walt Disney Imagineers are known for their storytelling and attention to detail. Do you think they got it right with Jock Lindsey’s Hanger Bar? “They nailed it! The fact that it looks like exactly like an old airplane hangar and it’s located right on the water where you can hear the water and boats, it’s just perfect.” Do fans still recognize you? If so, what’s that like? “Sometimes. My favorite interactions with fans sometimes happen by accident. We’ll be talking about Indiana Jones and then I mention something like “Well you know, I was Jock Lindsey…” and they say “You mean…”Jock start the engine?!” It’s amazing how many fans remember that small scene.” You’ve had a full career and travel has been a big part of your life. When you travel to Disney Springs, what’s your favorite go-to spot? “I actually love just watching those amphicars at The BOATHOUSE! I almost bought one.” Of all the places you could have picked to celebrate your birthday, you came here – why was this spot the right choice for you and your guests? “I wanted to pick a venue that reflected 70 years of my life and Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar truly represents everything I enjoy about my life and the career I’m so passionate about.” Anything else you’d want to share with readers of the Disney Parks Blog? “I appreciate the fans so much. Jock Lindsey represents the idea of adventure and dreams and being able to bring that to others and see their faces light up is simply amazing. I would tell readers to never stop dreaming and taking adventures in life—you’ll never know what will happen!” View the full article

The Italian-inspired Palo restaurant aboard each Disney ship, named after the colorful poles that line the canals of Venice, offers a superlative dining experience reserved exclusively for adults. When you dine here, you’re invited to indulge in a menu of delectable modern Italian cuisine, coupled with a sophisticated atmosphere and superior service. Of course the dining experience doesn’t end with the fine cuisine. Palo is also known for a robust menu of adult beverages, including inventive cocktails and classic reserve wines. The restaurant’s wine list, with 99 percent Italian wines, includes about 90 labels from all regions of Italy, including a sparkling Prosecco, a lush red Barolo made just for Palo, and some of the best Super Tuscans. One of my favorite beverages at Palo, especially paired with brunch, is the restaurant’s signature Balsamic Grande cocktail. This refreshing drink features vodka, a splash of 5-year-old balsamic vinegar and fresh muddled strawberries. It’s the perfect drink to impress your friends with during a summer gathering. Check out this video to see how you can make it at home. View the full article

The FastPass+ tiers at Animal Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Epcot can have a big effect on your overall Disney World park strategy. While Magic Kingdom doesn’t have tiers, we can only reserve an advanced FastPass+ for one top attraction at the other three parks. The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror Your FastPass+ strategy may be about to change even more at Hollywood Studios. According to Touring Plans, a large number of Hollywood Studios’ rides will move to Tier 1 when Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens on August 29. Based on a 90-day FastPass+ booking window (through a Club level perk), Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster AND Tower of Terror will join all three Toy Story Land attractions in Tier 1. ©Touring Plans What does this mean for you if this change is confirmed? Well, it means you’ll only get to make an advanced FastPass+ reservation for one of the attractions listed above. You’ll be able to use your other two reservations for Tier 2 attractions, such as Star Tours: The Adventures Continue, Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular, or Voyage of the Little Mermaid. Star Tours Stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more updates on this developing topic! What are your thoughts about this potential change coming to Hollywood Studios? Let us know in the comments! In May, Disney announced that select Disney World Resort hotels would soon begin to offer Mobile Order. The first of the new Resort hotel dining locations to go live on Mobile Order through the My Disney Experience app was Everything POP at Disney’s Pop Century Resort, and Contempo Café in Disney’s Contemporary Resort was the second. The Mara And now we can add The Mara to the list, as this counter service spot at Animal Kingdom Lodge is now live on Mobile Order! The Mara on Mobile Order As a refresher, Mobile Order is a feature available within the My Disney Experience app which allows guests to pre-order and pre-pay for their food at participating Counter Service Restaurants around Disney World. Upon arrival to the restaurant, guests using Mobile Order can then bypass the ordering queue and go straight to a designated Pick Up Counter to get their food. Tamarind Barbecue Pork Sandwich at The Mara At this time, The Mara is the last of the announced Resort counter service options added to Mobile Order. However, if the rollout at these latest additions goes well, it may lead to more Resort counter service options to be added to Mobile Order in the future. We’ll be on the lookout, and will continue to keep you posted! Are you excited that Mobile Order is expanding to Disney World Resort hotels? Please let us know with a comment! It has been announced that Lyft is now the official rideshare of Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort. The partnership begins today, June 18th! Minnie Van For Disneyland, this news comes in anticipation of the heavy crowds expected when the reservation-only period at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge comes to an end after its last day on June 23rd. Additionally, The Orange County Register shares that while taxis and other ride-share operators will still be able to pick up and drop off guests at Harbor Boulevard, they will not be able to use the areas designated for Lyft. “O.C. locals and tourists can say goodbye to the days of parking ‘far, far away’ to visit Disneyland and the new Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge,” Lyft said in a statement. Disneyland’s current parking lots and structures are a half mile or further from the Disneyland entrance, and parking rates increased by 25 percent in January. This certainly makes utilizing a ride-share service attractive to some guests. Disney has been working with Lyft since 2017 when the company began providing the Minnie Van service at Walt Disney World. The service has transported one million guests around Disney World property. And Disney also revealed that “Lyft and Disney will be enhancing the app experience at the Walt Disney World Resort. The update will make it easier to request a Minnie Van ride, find the most convenient pickup location, and even select a wheelchair accessible vehicle.” Sources: The Orange County Register and Disney Parks Blog Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! Last week we posted that Disneyland’s iconic Main Street Cinema has begun selling merchandise, dropping a bunch of Americana apparel, Minnie ears, plush, and more into the storied space. Main Street Cinema We heard from lots of readers and followers who simply were. not. having. it. But now we have Disney’s side of the story. This morning, the OC Register has gone to the source to clarify Disney’s position on this controversial move. So what’s the deal? Turns out Disney is “looking at a variety of ways to drive interest in this beloved location”, says an official statement from Disneyland Resort. The Register notes that Disney will be considering several ideas for the cinema location. “We’re looking at a lot of different options for what we could do,” said Disneyland spokesperson Suzi Brown, “We continue to operate Main Street Cinema as a theater, and there have been no changes to film showings.” Main Street Cinema So basically, Disney is saying they’d like to inspire more guests to visit the cinema and are looking for ways to make that happen. Including merchandise promotion. For now, the cinema will still be showing the classic clips, but you’ll have to push past a lot of merch…and potentially more…to get to them. Oh yeah, my friends… you read that title correctly. The super yummy S’mores Churro has been spotted again in Disneyland! S’mores Churro You may remember this delicious churro delight from when it was served back in 2017 at the churro cart in Critter Country for the reopening of Fantasmic! It is being served up the exact same way this time; it’s just at a different location. This time, you’ll find it at the churro cart located across from Haunted Mansion. Churro Cart The s’mores churro ($6.25) is covered in crushed graham crackers and is served with a gooey marshmallow and chocolate dipping sauce for all the elements of the famous campfire snack. S’mores Churro We’d love to say that the S’mores Churro is here to stay, but you never really know when it comes to Disney snacks — and especially Disneyland’s famous ever-changing Churros. But, hey, that’s part of the fun, too! S’mores Churro Sadly, you cannot use a discount on this treat…but we still think it’s totally worth it. This Halloween season, join your friends for a frightful fun time at the new Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party at Disney California Adventure park. Big kids, little kids (and kids at heart!) will be treated to exclusive new experiences and entertainment, including the debut of “World of Color” nighttime spectacular – “Villainous!” Plan ahead and get ready for thrilling surprises during this separately ticketed party. Check out these “must-do” experiences for young adults: “Villainous!” – The new “World of Color” show exclusive to Oogie Boogie Bash tells the twisted tale of a young girl (and all-new character) named Shelley Marie. In “Villainous!,” Shelley has a decision to make about her Halloween costume for this year, and finds herself wondering if she could really be as strong and unique as some of her favorite Disney villains, including The Queen, Ursula, Dr Facilier, Hades, Jafar and Maleficent. This twisted tale carries Shelley on an unforgettable journey through fountains, lights, lasers, projections and special effects. “Villainous!” shows guests that, deep down, there’s a little villain in all of us. Redwood Creek Challenge Trail – Transformed into a wondrous and ethereal world of Disney villains unlike anything seen before, Redwood Creek will be full of tricks. This dreamlike environment will be complete with lighting, projections, sounds and special effects. You and your besties will experience a series of scenes, each creating a hauntingly beautiful dream-space. Immersive Treat Trails – Team up with your pals and head out to explore the new, wonderfully wicked treat trails throughout the park. You may find yourselves face-to-face with the Mad Hatter from Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland,” or even Oogie Boogie himself! Additional treat trails will feature oversized cauldrons full of treats for all guests to enjoy. DescenDANCE Party – Head to the Backlot area of Hollywood Land for a pulsing, new party inspired by the popular “Descendants” franchise from Disney Channel. A spell is cast, summoning the greatest dance crew from the Isle of the Lost to throw down and lead everyone in moves that are set to the biggest hit songs from all three “Descendants” movies. The original “Villain Kids” might even crash the party through magic mirrors. Stick around after as the Backlot DJ continues to spin tunes, inviting everyone to step onto the dance floor into the night. Be sure to catch “Descendants 3” this August on Disney Channel. Lastly, it wouldn’t be a Halloween bash without dressing up! Everyone is encouraged to dress in costume for the occasion. Oogie Boogie Bash is only offered on 20 select nights this fall, starting Sept. 17. For more information, including costume policy guidelines and to purchase tickets, visit Disneyland.com/HalloweenParty. View the full article

Looking for a way to cool off on your Walt Disney World vacation… specifically at the ever-so-hot Animal Kingdom? Orange Blossom Cocktail Then head straight over to the Africa section of the park to the Dawa Bar. Located near Tusker House Restaurant, the lovable location known as Dawa Bar serves up some great South African wines and beers, along with themed cocktails. We love to kick back and relax at this boozy haven while sippin’ on a few drinks. Sometimes, the bar will feature a specialty cocktail, like the one we’re about to dive into. Orange Blossom Specialty Cocktail The newest specialty Orange Blossom cocktail ($12.75) is a delicious mixture of Sauza tequila, Vanderhum, orange juice, and agave. Orange Blossom Cocktail Simply put, this is a great hot weather drink. The tequila mixed with the orange lends the drink a hint of bitterness to balance the sweetness, and it hits all the right flavor notes. We’d definitely kick back and sip on it again…that’s for sure!
