One of Disney’s most highly anticipated new attractions for 2020 is almost here! And we recently spotted some progress being made at Hollywood Studios. Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway Entrance We’re less than two months from the opening of Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, and seeing some new signage installed has us SO EXCITED! As you approach the Chinese Theater facade, you’ll notice two entrances that guests will be able to use once the attraction opens. Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway Entrance If you are facing the building, it looks like the FastPass+ entrance will be on the left-hand side. Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway FastPass Entrance And the standby entrance will be on the right. Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway Standby Entrance If you look REEEEALLY close, you can see the faint outline of the letters that indicate which entrance you will use, depending on if you have a FastPass… Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway FastPass Entrance …or if you’ll be hopping in that ole standby line. These signs should be much easier to read as we approach the attraction’s official opening! Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway Standby Entrance Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway officially opens March 4th, 2020. What happens when you combine Disney with beautiful art, delicious food, and world-class entertainment? You get Epcot’s Festival of the Arts! Paint by Number Mural And while the celebration doesn’t officially start until this Friday, we’re taking a sneak peek some of this year’s offerings! We’re so happy a festival-favorite of ours will be returning — the interactive Paint By Number murals! If you haven’t attended an Epcot’s Festival of the Arts before, then you may not know about this special event! Every year, guests are invited to collaborate with artists in creating fabulous murals — think of them like public, interactive art installations! Paint By Number While the basic concept behind the paint-by-number murals at Epcot’s Festival of the Arts is the same as the ones you probably did as a kid — these aren’t your momma’s Paint by Numbers! These murals are HUGE! On average, each mural takes 2 days to complete with guests filling in each number — one square at a time! Last Year’s Paint by Number Mural In previous years, the interactive paint-by-number murals have been over by the World Showcase near Refreshment Port, but that’s not where you’ll find them at this year’s fest! Instead, they’ve been relocated to Future World where Mouse Gear formerly was. The sessions for the paint-by-number murals are from 11 AM to 5 PM daily for the duration of the festival and it’s totally free to participate! Festival of the Arts Passport There will be five new paint-by-number mural designs this year, while the very last design will depict Figment “welcoming in” the next Epcot festival — Flower and Garden starting on March 4th, 2020! You’ll also receive a special commemorative postcard once you finish painting your square! Festival of the Arts Paint By Number Mural Don’t forget there are lots of other experiences to enjoy at this year’s Festival of the Arts including all the food, entertainment, and OF COURSE — merch! You’ll also want to check out the three new attractions that are also opening in Epcot on Friday including Awesome Planet, Canada Far and Wide and The Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along which has a special Tale as Old as Time exhibit — read more about it HERE! Have you participated in the Paint by Number murals before? Is it one of your favorite parts of Epcot’s Festival of the Arts? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below! The 2020 Epcot International Festival of the Arts is just around the corner (and we are SO ready for all the merch, entertainment, and more coming to the park)! Festival Passport While you might have to wait to try the food for yourself, we’ve got a sneak peek at the AH-MAZING eats and treats coming to the festival this year. This year’s Festival of the Arts will run from January 17th through February 24th. And, although we’ve given you the deets on the full menus and food being baked up at the festival, we’re taking you with us to preview the Food Studios! Pop Eats 2019 Pop Eats! Festival of the Arts Food Studio First up, we got a preview of some of the modern offerings from Pop Eats. Let’s get innovative! We got a taste of the new Sous Vide Chicken Roulade with Apples and Sage served with Warm Brie Fondue, Blueberry and Beet Gel and garnished with Beet Chip Crumbles. Sous Vide Chicken Roulade This dish is literally SO PRETTY! The sauces look just like paint drizzled right onto the plate with their vibrant colors. The chicken is seriously excellent too. The sous vide cooking method leaves the portion perfectly cooked. We could even see this dish being served at a Table Service restaurant because of how high quality it is! Sous Vide Chicken Roulade The dessert option at Pop Arts is the Almond Frangipane Cake layered with Raspberry Jam and Belgian Chocolate Almond Cake This is actually a returning favorite from the festival last year, but it looks a little different. The cake used to have many more layers and has now been reduced to only five. Still, all of the ingredients are the same so we enjoyed this one! Almond Cake There’s a yummy dessert wine option coming to this booth too. The Florida Orange Groves Winery Black and Blue Port from Decadent Delights comes from close by too. Port Wine This port makes for a super sweet and heady sip! We say it’s pretty drinkable but still super complex. If port wine is your thing, you’ll love it. We sure did. Port Wine Masterpiece Kitchen The Masterpiece Kitchen Next up we got a glimpse of the offerings at The Masterpiece Kitchen (the perfect place to eat and sip together). One item here is potentially the prettiest dessert we’ve ever seen, the Vanilla, Rose Water and Pistachio Panna Cotta. Panna Cotta Seriously, LOOK AT THIS! We are loving this dessert inside and out honestly. It’s very unique and all-around delightful. You can definitely taste the rose water which makes it both wonderful and different. Panna Cotta And of course, it wouldn’t be The Masterpiece Kitchen without an interesting wine offering. We tried the Pinord La Dama Reserva Familiar Brut Rosé from Spain. Pinord La Dama This wine is a refreshing sparkling rosé that we would definitely have again! So nice and bubbly! Pinord La Dama The Deconstructed Dish 2019 Deconstructed Dish Festival of the Arts Food Studio Movin’ on to the funkiest festival booth, it’s The Deconstructed Dish! Today, we got to try the Sliced Corned Beef, Rye-crusted Sauerkraut and Jarlsberg Cake with Broken Thousand Island Dressing. Corned Beef This is definitely the heftiest dish we tried and it was sooooooo good. It really seems like a large portion (there’s a whole pickle!) so it should totally fill you up. Every aspect of the dish, especially the yummy Jarlsberg cake, was excellently cooked as well! Corned Beef The Deconstructed Dish is also home to a unique non-alcoholic specialty beverage: Rainboba, made with Sparkling Water layered with Fruit Boba and topped with a Foam Cloud. Rainboba Sparkling Water Alright, we’ll level with you. We can’t decide if this one is really pretty or kind of offputting. Maybe both? Either way, it comes in a CUTE plastic souvenir glass so it does have that going for it! Now, it’s a yummy drink. We really like that it’s not too sweet but we wouldn’t be surprised if this one is way too expensive for what it is. After all, it really is mostly sparkling water which is beyond cheap at the grocery store! Rainboba Sparkling Water Click here for a closer look at the Rainboba drink! Cuisine Classique Cuisine Classique Booth Next, there’s a sneak peek at the old world delight, Cuisine Classique! One new dish this year is the Seared Corvina with Braised Ratatouille and Lemon-Thyme Beurre Blanc. Seared Corvina This is another big portion but it’s not too heavy since it is fish. This wasn’t our fave thing we tried. The fish is cooked very traditionally which means the fish taste is pretty strong. If you don’t mind that, this might be the dish for you! For us though, we were happy just eating the yummy ratatouille and sauce. Seared Corvina Refreshment Outpost And our preview ends at Refreshment Outpost which is an AWESOME spot to grab some popcorn! Refreshment Outpost New this year is the GENIUS Popcorn Pairing Flight. Pairing popcorn with beer? Sign us up! Popcorn Pairing Flight The flight pairs three popcorn flavors with three different beers. The Bacon Barbecue Popcorn pairs with the Barrel of Monks Brewery Endless Enigma Golden Pale Ale, the Jalapeno Ranch Popcorn pairs with the Collective Arts Brewing Life in the Clouds, and the Buffalo Bleu Cheese Popcorn pairs with the M.I.A. Beer Company Malt Bach Brown Ale. Popcorn Pairing Flight The beers in this flight were SO tasty and they complimented the flavors of the popcorn really well too. Our only complaint was that the popcorn was a little stale. However, it had been sitting out for the media preview so hopefully, it’ll taste nice and fresh when we get it at Refreshment Outpost on Friday! Popcorn Pairing Flight Want to see more of the media preview? We got to see a whole NEW exhibit in the France Pavilion! Will you be heading to Festival of the Arts this year? Let us know in the comments below! Disclosure: In nearly all circumstances, Disney Food Blog writers and photographers pay full price for their own travel, hotel, food, beverage, and event tickets. You’ll find the new Rainboba Sparkling Water making its big debut at this year’s Festival of the Arts — and we think it’s got major star-potential! The wait is ALMOST over! The NEW Circle-Vision 360° film ‘Canada Far and Wide’ will be debuting in Epcot’s World Showcase this Friday! Canada Far and Wide And today we were lucky enough to see a sneak peek of the new movie! Read our first impressions of Canada Far and Wide here! Check out the new digital wait time board in the Canada pavilion! This will let you know when the new show’s about to start! Canada Far and Wide Details on Canada Far & Wide The new Canada Far and Wide movie features two incredible actors — Eugene Levy and Katherine O’Hara! They are such an awesome duo on Schitt’s Creek and we’re thrilled they’re a part of THIS project! Although they don’t appear on the Circle-Vision screen, they provide an awesome narration to the scenic film showcasing Canada’s splendor! Canada Far and Wide Sorry, folks. We’re sad to report Martin Short, the host of O’Canada doesn’t make a cameo in the new film. We were hoping they’d find a way to squeeze him back in, but his comedic stylings didn’t make the cut this time! Canada Far and Wide But we did love the new footage of Canada Far and Wide which displays Canada’s bustling metroplexes as well as its natural beauty including its gorgeous coastlines, tranquil lakes, and serene forests. Watching the movie on the 360° screens made us feel like we were magically transported there! We DON’T HAVE WORDS for how excited we are for the 2020 International Festival of the Arts to start up THIS FRIDAY! Epcot France Pavilion Wanna know what’s made us even more pumped? We got a sneak preview of some of the awesome exhibits that are coming to the festival this year. To our delight, one of those exhibits goes hand in hand with the new Beauty and the Beast Sing-along film that’s opening in the Palais du Cinema. Wait until you see the GORGEOUS France Pavilion exhibit — “Tale as Old as Time: French Storytelling on Stage and Screen!” The gallery is all-new for 2020 and is intended to showcase “a collection of costumes, music, artwork, and more” while highlighting “French literature in cinema, theater, ballet, and opera.” C’est magnifique! No, really. We LOVED this exhibit! Tale as Old as Time Exhibit The exhibit hall holds six different cases with props, costumes, and paraphernalia from eleven classic French stories. Some of the props are Disney, some are not. In fact, many pieces in the exhibit are on loan from various theaters including the Orlando local Winter Garden Theater. Tale as Old as Time Thank You Board But enough about how the exhibit came to be, let’s take a look at the installation! Right when you enter, you’ll see a sign that introduces the exhibit. We love the ornate storybook graphic, it really reminds us of the classic storybook opening for Disney films! Ultimately, Tale as Old as Time is a celebration of lauded French literature making its transformation from page to stage and screen. Tale as Old as Time First up, we stopped by the display case dedicated to Sleeping Beauty and Giselle. You’ll notice in all of the cases that the use of storybooks continues! Here, we could read about the history of Sleeping Beauty and the villainous Maleficent! Did you know that Maleficent’s original name in the 1889 Russian Ballet was Carabosse? Sleeping Beauty Information This case also talks about Giselle, an enchanting Victor Hugo story (we’ll see a lot of those in this exhibit!) that was adapted into a ballet. AND, the performance is widely considered to be the most difficult ballet of all time! The two dresses in this case are both gorgeously-detailed costumes from a performance of Giselle. Sleeping Beauty Case Next, we moved on to the Beauty and the Beast case which holds props and a costume from the live-action remake of the classic Disney film. And, yes! That is the actual traveling outfit that Emma Watson wore in the film! Beauty and the Beast is the perfect addition to this exhibit, especially because we’re standing one room over from the Beauty and the Beast Sing-along. Plus, Belle is one of the most iconically French princesses! Beauty and the Beast Cloak Our favorite parts of this case were the Lumiere, Cogsworth, Mrs. Potts, and Chip props! Or, should we say costumes ? There’s also the beautifully ornate mirror that Belle and Beast use to communicate. Comme c’est romantique! Beauty and the Beast Props The next case celebrates perhaps the two most famous French plays of all time — The Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables. Phantom of the Opera is an enchanting story about a mysterious Opera Ghost and was inspired by the actual collapse of a chandelier at the Opera House in Paris. Phantom of the Opera Fun fact: You can actually visit the Phantom’s Box #5 at the Opera Garnier in Paris! The case contains an iconic half-mask worn by a performing Phantom and a full Valjean costume from a staging of Les Miserables. Phantom of the Opera and Les Mis We particularly loved looking at this gorgeous printing of Les Miserables (another Victor Hugo classic) and learning more about the tragic story! Les Mis La Boheme and La Traviata were the two stories occupying the next case. La Traviata is the most performed opera of all time and the two costumes in this case come from a production of the tragic love story, La Boheme and La Traviata La Boheme is another famous opera, however, most people know it in a different form. This French classic famously inspired the mega-popular musical, Rent. That certainly helps explain the song “La Vie Boheme,” doesn’t it? La Boheme You’ll recognize another set of paraphernalia from a live-action Disney flick with the Cinderella and The Three Muskateers case! You can see a concept sketch of Cinderella’s ball gown, her scullery dress, and one of those iconic glass slippers! We can’t say that the shoe looks too comfy but it is definitely gorgeous! Cinderella Case This recent film celebrates the famous 1950 Disney version of the classic French tale, Cendrillon from the 17th Century. Did you know that Cinderella’s slipper used to be a ring in original versions of the tale? Cinderella Info If you’re a fan of heroism and brotherhood, then the rest of this case should interest you with items from The Three Musketeers! Look at that iconic hat and sword! Cinderella and Three Musketeers Case We can’t help but love the story that inspired “Mickey, Donald, Goofy: The Three Musketeers.” The Three Musketeers Aaaand finally, the last case is our personal favorite with a celebration of The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Cyrano de Bergerac. Hunchback and Cerano Case Cyrano, of course, is an iconic French tale about a very adventurous man with a very large nose. The story has some similarities to Romeo and Juliet. A famous film adaptation of this story starred Steve Martin as the funny-nosed man himself! Cyrano de Bergerac The reason this case is my favorite though is because of the celebration of Hunchback of Notre Dame, one of my favorite stories of all time! This is yet another Victor Hugo story. That’s why the gargoyles in the Disney film are named Victor and Hugo. Hunchback This story was recently adapted into an English musical using songs from the Disney film and story elements from the original book. Check out this costume from the production and then go give it a listen! Hunchback You can check out this wonderful exhibit at the Palais du Cinema in the France Pavilion (right before you head into that ALL NEW Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along!) for the duration of the Festival of the Arts anytime between its open on January 17 through February 24. Click here to take a look at the festival booths we’ve already seen cropping up! What do you think of this artsy French exhibit? Let us know in the comments! We’ve got our sights set on FIVE brand new restaurants coming to Disney World in the near future! Disney has kept news of these recent announcements pretty quiet, so we’ve put together everything we know about these mysterious arrivals! Rodeo Roundup BBQ With Disney World’s 50th anniversary quickly approaching and a MAJOR transformation taking place at Epcot, it certainly is a time of change at Disney World. This means that it’s also a time of change for Disney food! Oh yeah, people, there’s a whole slew of new restaurants coming to Disney World and though some of them are the talk of the town (hello, Space 220!), here are a few super exciting new dining spots that we’re REALLY looking forward to, and eagerly waiting to hear more about! Roundup Rodeo BBQ Table-Service Restaurant As much as we love Woody’s Lunchbox, Toy Story Land in Hollywood Studios has had some serious need for a table service restaurant of its own. Well, finally the area is getting its own sit-down dining spot with the new Toy Story Roundup Rodeo BBQ restaurant! Yeehaw! Rodeo Roundup BBQ Concept Art ©Disney The Roundup Rodeo BBQ was announced back in April of 2019 and is set to open in 2020. This spot will be themed like a part of Andy’s play area, just like the rest of the land. Your table will be housed in a structure of three taped-together cardboard boxes that Andy has used to create his own rodeo arena — sounds like quite the location for a fun family meal! Woody says, “Howdy!” at Toy Story Land! The concept art for this restaurant shows a colorful family rodeo and there are even a few friendly faces, like Jessie and Woody, scattered around the decorations! This is sure to be a rollicking good time! Jessie is meeting by Alien Swirling Saucers! One of the best parts of this new spot? It’ll give Toy Story Land some much-needed shade and AC! Toy Story Land Concept Art ©Disney Read more about Roundup Rodeo BBQ here! Princess and the Frog Restaurant Just like in the movie, Princess Tiana is finally getting her restaurant! Tiana’s Place ©Disney This year’s D23 Expo released all sorts of exciting news, but one piece that has flown under the radar is the new Disney’s Vacation Club Reflections Resort and its accompanying Princess and the Frog-themed restaurant. Reflections — A Disney Lakeside Lodge will be tucked between Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground. Reflections ©Disney The Princess and the Frog restaurant, which will be one of the dining locations at Reflections — A Disney Lakeside Lodge, will sit along Bay Lake and be themed around natural elements. This setting will give guests the chance to dine “on the bayou” in this new table-service location. The concept art for this unnamed restaurant shows purple and green decorative elements and lighting that resembles fireflies. The floor-to-ceiling windows will allow guests to feel like their seated right on the edge of the bayou! Princess and the Frog Restaurant ©Disney We sure are pumped for this one! Princess and the Frog is a newer classic and it’s awesome to see that it’s finally getting some more representation in Disney World! Though there have been no details released as to the food that will be served, we sure hope it’s inspired by the down-south cuisine of Louisiana. The location will likely open with the Reflections Resort in 2022. Princess Tiana Looking for MORE information on this Princess and the Frog-themed spot? Check it out here! Regal Eagle Smokehouse World Showcase in EPCOT has been all the buzz with the D23 announcement of a new Mary Poppins attraction, the highly-anticipated Space 220 restaurant, and the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind attraction. But that’s not the only news about what’s to come around the World Showcase Lagoon as this year Disney announced a new counter-service restaurant coming to the American Adventure Pavilion! This new hot-spot will be called Regal Eagle Smokehouse: Craft Drafts & Barbecue. This fast-casual dining location will serve craft beers and barbecue that is smoked in house every day! Regal Eagle will be replacing the recently-closed dining location of Liberty Inn and will be accompanied by a redesigned patio. The most fun part? Sam the Eagle from The Muppets will play a role in the new dining spot! Regal Eagle will be celebrating his annual cookoff in search of the best BBQ, and you’ll just so happen to be dining during the event! Regal Eagle ©Disney Liberty Inn has been closed since July 8th and the Regal Eagle was originally set to open end of 2019. Construction is still wrapping up so we hope we can get our fill of BBQ here in the VERY near future! Check out the FULL Regal Eagle menu here! Beatrix A few new exciting dining locations are also coming to Disney Springs relatively soon! The restaurant group Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises is opening their first dining location in Disney Springs known as Beatrix. Beatrix ©Disney This restaurant will feature a variety of options including a full-service restaurant, grab-and-go market, coffee lounge, fresh juices, an in-house bakery, and a full bar. With such variety, Beatrix is bound to have something for everyone! The dining spot is taking over the space of the recently closed Bongos and construction has begun on the interior and exterior of the building. Though there is no release season announced yet, we’re hoping they’ll make quick progress on this trendy spot with a neighborhood feel. Beatrix construction Click here to find out about another new restaurant in Disney Springs! Space 220 Last but certainly not least is the highly-anticipated restaurant coming to Future World in Epcot. Space 220 will offer a totally unique dining experience as the restaurant will seem like it’s floating in orbit! Guests will have to take a “space elevator” all the way up to the dining location and then will be treated with views of the galaxy through the windows and a “spinning wall of produce.” Futuristic! Space 220 Concept Art ©Disney This location will be stunningly themed and will likely come with a heavier price point. We don’t know too much about the menu at Space 220 but we do know that it will be modern American cuisine, with craft beer and over 1000 bottles of wine. This is sure to be a unique and out-of-this-world (sorry) experience, so we’re really looking forward to it! Space 220 Concept Art ©Disney We recently found out that Space 220 will also feature a lounge which means it should be more accessible! Many signature dining locations around Disney World have lounges that offer an alternative for guests who couldn’t get a reservation so skipping the meal doesn’t mean you can’t get a glimpse of space! Space 220 Space 220 is expected to open this Winter and according to job listings for the locations, it looks like February is the month that we can expect to dine in this new spot. No word on whether advanced dining reservations will be available, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated! Click here to check out EVERYTHING we know about Space 220! So, there you have it! And, it’s a lot easier to order than snagging those Death Star plans! You know that those early mornings in Disneyland call for a quick breakfast before you make your way around the park! Jolly Holiday Since the lines at the Starbucks on Main Street can get pretty crowded, we found a treat crystallizing in the parks that is definitely worth a stop at the Jolly Holiday Bakery instead! The Strawberry Hand Pie looks like a winter dream come true at Jolly Holiday! The flaky, soft crust has strawberry filling, purple icing, themed sugar sprinkles, and white chocolate snowflakes. We’ve seen a strawberry hand pie before at Jolly Holiday, but the theming this time is just too cute! Jolly Holiday Bakery Case When we asked the Cast Members what the theme of the Strawberry Hand Pie was, they said it was simply a festive way to celebrate the season. Buuut, it reminds us of one of Elsa‘s new dresses in Frozen 2! (Elsa’s Strawberry Hand Pie has a nice ring to it!) ;D Strawberry Hand Pie We have to say that Pop-Tarts have nothin’ on Disney hand pies, you guys! The Strawberry Hand Pie’s crust melts in your mouth with each bite, so you can taste all of the buttery goodness (swoon). Honestly, the quality of the crust sets these bbs aside from so many of the other treats in Disneyland and makes us want to have 3 more! Strawberry Hand Pie Even though the crust is flaky and delicious, you can’t really taste the flavor of the white chocolate pieces on top of the pie. Buuut, that’s probably because the strawberry filling stands out the most! The flavor actually tastes like fresh strawberries rather than something artificial. And, although it is SUPER sweet, the strawberry filling isn’t overpowering (but it totally steals the spotlight). Here at DFB, we LOVE taking you with us as we drink around the World! Margaritas at Choza de Margarita Since there are sooo many options to pick from, sometimes you want more than one drink. And although we’ve seen fish bowls like the Storm Chaser at Hurricane Hanna’s, The Seven Seas Lagoon at The Wave, and the Solar Eclipse Planet Bowl at Planet Hollywood, we’ve got an even BIGGER way to keep the drinks coming all night long in Disney Springs… The Edison is bringing the party to your table with their PUNCH BOWL option! (Pinch us, we must be dreaming!!) Now, you can make certain cocktails off the menu into a punch bowl for $100 that you can share with your friends and family! The Edison Seriously, it’s so big, you’re going to want to take a group with you to try it! We gathered our Orlando DFB team and their spouses (plus a couple of extra friends) to tackle the punch bowl. Although you can pick from the Green Electron, Time Turner, and Bad Miscalculation cocktails on the menu… The Edison Cocktail Menu …we chose the Samatha Sterling made of Grey Goose Vodka, Lillet Rose, lime juice, watermelon juice, and cinnamon cordial (even the ingredients sound fabulous) to fill our punch bowl. The Edison Cocktail Menu Of course we chose Samantha to pay tribute to one of our favorite former hang-outs, which happens to be the previous occupant of the space The Edison now fills — the Adventurers Club! In case the name Samantha Sterling sounds familiar, you might remember her as one of the spunky adventurers from the club! The Adventurers Club was one of the most unique spots in Pleasure Island and we still miss it HEARTILY. Radio-a-thon at Adventurer’s Club in Disney World Each night, the club recruited new Adventurers Club members through an open house where guests could interact with the live actors and vote on the Adventurer of the Year! Samantha Sterling was one of the Adventurers Club members who had just returned from her explorations around the world. If that’s not cool enough, she also was a cabaret singer who could get the entire crowd involved in a song! Thanks to our wonderful friends over at AllEars, we were able to use one of their photos to show you Samantha Sterling live in action! You can spot her smiling in the middle of the back row (thanks again, AllEars!!). The Adventurers Club! So, just like Samantha Sterling and the gang brought a lil adventure into our lives, this punch bowl was everything we had dreamed it would be!! They bring this massive thing to your table complete with glasses for everyone AND a punch bowl LADLE! (Note to self: have more drinks that require a ladle.) Every Disney Drink Needs a Ladle! The sterling (natch.) silver bowl held SO. MUCH. BOOZE. that we were able to just keep refilling our glasses. Plus, our Cast Member decided to make it extra pretty with its flowers, leaves, and citrus slice garnish (which obvi made our DFB party even better). Samantha Sterling Punch Bowl If you’re having trouble deciding what to fill your punch bowl with, we highly recommend the Samantha Sterling. Although the fruity flavors from the lime and watermelon juices stood out the most, they were wonderfully balanced with the Lillet Rose and vodka. Plus, the cinnamon cordial added a lil kick to each sip that we couldn’t resist! Pretty in Pink!! Even though we thought the actual cocktail was sweet and refreshing, we loved that we basically had an entire punch bowl brought to our table. Name a better Instagram photo… (We’re waiting)… Samantha Sterling Punch Bowl You can get the punch bowl with Samantha Sterling (or something new!) at The Edison for $100. Sounds pricey, I know, but seeing as drinks at Disney World regularly run $12-18 each and we had multiple people at the table, this was similar to what we would have spent on a round of drinks otherwise. PLUS you get that fun punch bowl factor (and get to the be the envy of the restaurant, basically). We think it’s a great way to chill out with your closest pals while you have good drinks, good eats, and a good time!! Have you gotten The Edison’s punch bowl yet? If you did, what cocktail did YOU choose? Let us know in the comments below! Huge thanks to my buddies at @disneydegens for giving us the idea to write about the punch bowl! You guys are the best! Disneyland is full of delicious eats and treats, but the Disneyland Hotel holds a special place in our hearts. Steakhouse 55 Located Inside the Disneyland Hotel Recently, Heather and fam (heeeyyyyy @diningindisney!) stopped by the Steakhouse 55 to dig into a delicious 3-course dinner. And, we’re taking you with us!! Steakhouse 55 is a gorgeous lounge open for breakfast and dinner (and sometimes afternoon tea!) where guests can dine while surrounded by photos of Walt Disney and Old Hollywood. The ambiance is a perfect way to relax after a long day in the parks. Walt Disney Watches Over Steakhouse 55 After we were seated at our table, we took a peek at the Non-Alcoholic Mocktails menu. We settled on the Grapefruit Spritzer made with grapefruit and lime juices and finished with soda water. Non-Alcoholic Mocktails The tangy yet sweet flavors were delicious and refreshing. While the grapefruit was more prominent, you could still taste the lime with each sip. Grapefruit Spritzer All ready to dig in to our amazing dinner, we picked a few items that were calling our names (and our stomachs). Steakhouse 55 Menu While the table service brings out bread and butter (a soft, beautiful staple of any meal tbh)… Bread and Butter … we also received an amuse-bouche made with cream cheese, dried red pepper, and parmesan crisp (bread and cream cheese is the ULTIMATE combo). Amuse Bouchée We ordered the Japanese Popcorn Chicken made with shishito pepper aioli, crispy garlic chips, shiso leaf, and togarashi as an appetizer. The chicken had a slight bit of crunch to it but melted with every bite. The shishito pepper aioli gave the appetizer a slight heat that matched the saltiness of the chicken’s breading (and we LOVED it)! Japanese Popcorn Chicken To go along with the chicken, we tried the Steakhouse 55 “Wedge” Salad with cherry tomato, bacon lardons, a soft boiled egg, and blue cheese vinaigrette (!!!). There were seriously HUGE flavors here. Plus, check out the mega hunks of bacon in that salad! Steakhouse 55 “Wedge” Salad While there were numerous entrées off the menu that had our mouths watering, we sampled three popular menu items. The Prime New York Strip Loin was buttery and tender, giving each bite ah-mazing flavor (don’t get us started on the crazy tasty bone marrow it’s served with!)… Prime New York Strip Loin … while the Slow-Roasted Prime Rib was extremely juicy…and definitely big enough to share! Slow-Roasted Prime Rib We also took a bite of the Pan-Seared California King Salmon. Although it was surrounded by amazing steaks, we were impressed by this! The lighter flavor option is a good choice for those not interested in the red meat options. Pan-Seared California King Salmon Many of the entrees don’t come with a side, so we grabbed a few side dishes from Steakhouse 55’s menu to go with our meal. First up, we had the Macaroni & Cheese made with black truffle and cheddar sauce. Macaroni & Cheese Although you can order the mac with lobster, we wanted to revel in all that cheesy goodness in its purest state. Seriously, there was SO MUCH CHEESE, but we’re definitely not complaining! The truffle flavor was just right, and the crunch from the bread crumbs on top — YUM. Macaroni & Cheese The Street Style Cream Corn was a fun twist on comfort food (a trend at which a lot of snazzy restaurants are trying their hands at the moment). The buttery side had a hint cheese flavor, and every bite had a little bit of added crunch from the bacon crumbles on top. Street Style Cream Corn To satisfy our serving of veggies for the day, we tried the Sautéed Green Beans cooked with shaved fennel, caramelized shallot, and sliced almonds… Sautéed Green Beans … and the Cheesy Asparagus with a combo of shredded mozzarella and soft-ripened brie, finished with minced garlic. These were crisp and flavorful. And everything’s better with cheese. The soft-ripened brie was something we hadn’t seen on asparagus before! Cheesy Asparagus And, what’s a meal without a secret menu?? Did you know you can get spinach prepared 3 different ways at Steakhouse 55? Yep — flash-fried, sautéed, or creamed. We went with the secret menu flash-fried spinach, which was amazingly crispy and sprinkled with parmesan. You can also get sautéed wild mushrooms off the secret menu as well! We’ll just have to come back for them another time! Flash Fried Spinach As we finished with our favorite part of the meal, dessert rolled around in all its sweet glory. Our first pick was the Brown Butter Sugar Cookie with bourbon sabayon, Tahitian vanilla ice cream, smoked salt, and orange tuile. The Tahitian vanilla ice cream and bourbon sabayon melted into the sugar cookie, taking the treat’s otherwise simple flavors to a new level. (And, yes, this is basically a fancy pizookie.) Brown Butter Sugar Cookie The Sourdough Bread Pudding was topped with caramel sauce, sherry macerated cherries, and toffee ice cream. This was fine, but definitely not our favorite. Sourdough Bread Pudding Our favorite of the three desserts was the 28 Layer Chocolate Crepe Cake served with 50/50 bar orange ice cream. This is a new take on Steakhouse 55’s famous chocolate layer cake! 28 Layer Chocolate Crepe Cake Every single item on this plate was amazing, but the chocolate cake was so moist and delicious that we could have had three more helpings. The orange ice cream almost tasted like a creamsicle! (Look at how cute those sugar dipped hazelnuts are!!!) 28 Layer Chocolate Crepe Cake Our meal at Steakhouse 55 was top notch. Every course we tasted was well-executed, beautifully presented, and featured fresh and flavorful offerings. You know it’s a good meal when everyone is SO FULL but still keeps sneaking one last taste. It was that good, y’all. Our Steakhouse 55 Feast After leaving with satisfied and full stomachs, we have to say that we would happily come back to Steakhouse 55 again — even if it was just for some Mac & Cheese and Chocolate Cake.
