  1. We’re clearly in need of a caffeine rush today! Will Wait for Caffeine! We recently checked out the new Almondmilk Honey Flat White at the Starbucks in Magic Kingdom’s Main Street Bakery. While that non-diary delight is all fine and dandy, we’re excited to say a fan-favorite has made its return! Let’s say Happy New Year and welcome back to the Smoked Butterscotch Frappuccino. Smoked Butterscotch Frappuccino You may remember all the chatter when this first hit the scene because of its ohhh so similar taste to a certain specialty drink you can find at another Orlando-area theme park— Yes, we’re talking about BUTTERBEER! Main Street Bakery’s Menu This sweet-meets-smokey fan-favorite is back in Frappuccino form (you may remember they also had a Smoked Butterscotch Latte last time). Smoked Butterscotch Latte and Frappuccino The Frappuccino is coffee-based and is mixed with smoked butterscotch sauce. It’s topped off with whipped cream and sprinkled with the same smoked butterscotch topping. Just look at ALL that goodness on top! Whipped Cream and Smoked Butterscotch Topping We love the creaminess the whipped cream adds to it and while they don’t go overboard on the smokiness, this drink does tend to be on the sweeter side. This is a good option for those coffee lovers looking for a little sugar rush with their caffeine fix! Check out our full review of the Smoked Butterscotch Frappuccino While we found this beverage in Magic Kingdom, this specialty beverage should be back at Starbucks locations across Walt Disney World. 3. It seems the tiki gods were listening and have answered our prayers! Line for Aloha Isle Remember the Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party-exclusive Kakamora Float we told you about at the beginning of the holiday season at Disney World? Well, now that the party’s over (literally!!) the coconut-flavored Dole Whip delight has stuck around! We first met the Kakamora Float at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. The sweet treat consists of rich, creamy coconut soft-serve with pineapple juice, blue curaçao syrup, and a cute little chocolate Kakamora cake pop! If you may recall, “Kakamora” are the aggressive little coconut dudes from the movie Moana! Kakamora Float We’re so happy the Kakamora fought for this delicious snack of theirs to stick around a little while longer. Of course, we’re hoping it will hang around FOREVER, but we’re stocking up just in case it goes away since we didn’t get our fill of it during the separately-ticketed Christmas parties! Kakamora Float Read our review of the Kakamora Float here! Also, the Kakamora Float isn’t currently available for Mobile Order, so you’ll have to wait in line to pick one up. Worth it for a treat we were rubbing out eyes in disbelief that it was still available? ABSOLUTELY! Kakamora Float The Kakamora Float costs $6.99 at Aloha Isle in the Magic Kingdom and we’re guessing will only be available for a limited time. Though ya never really know with Disney! On a side note, you can also still get the cherry pistachio swirl soft-serve at Aloha Isle. Cherry and Pistachio Float Again, we don’t know how long this treat will be sticking around either, but we’re happy to see it hanging out for now. You can read our full Cherry and Pistachio Float review here! Have you tried the Kakamora Float at Disney World yet? Which Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party treats were you hoping would stick around? Tell us which ones in the comments below! 4. It seems that while the holidays may be winding down at Disney World, the coziness of the winter season in Central Florida will be sticking around! Magic Kingdom That’s because Starbucks has just added a new drink to its menu — the Almondmilk Honey Flat White! Join us for a few glorious sips of this new non-dairy treat! We’ve been big fans of Starbucks all-new Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew and Irish Cream Cold Brew since their debuted last year, and now they’re bringing us another brand-new drink to enjoy — the Almondmilk Honey Flat White! That’s right, non-dairy folks and friends who are looking to be a little more plant-based in 2020 — this new drink is dairy-free! Iced Almondmilk Honey Flat White The coffee-based drink features a blend of Starbucks’ blonde espresso with honey syrup and almond milk. We got ours served over ice, but you can also order it hot! According to Starbuck’s website, you can also ask for Starbucks’ Signature espresso blend if you want something more bold and robust! Iced Almondmilk Honey Flat White We thought the almond milk lent a nice creaminess to the drink without making it taste too rich. The espresso wasn’t overpowered either which surprised us since the blonde roast is much more subtle. And at first, we didn’t get any of the honey flavor, but the more we sipped, the more apparent it became! Even though we don’t consider ourselves milk-alternative aficionados, the drink was light and refreshing! Iced Almondmilk Honey Flat White And if you’re a fan of a certain specialty drink you can find at another popular Orlando-area theme park (yes, we’re talking about BUTTERBEER, friends!) then you’re in luck! The Smoked Butterscotch Frappuccino has landed back on the Starbucks menu! Main Street Bakery’s Menu Read our review of Starbuck’s Smoked Butterscotch Frappuccino here! For us, we’d choose the Smoked Butterscotch Frap over the Almondmilk Honey Flat White any day, but try them both for yourself at any Starbucks and see what you think! You should be able to find both drinks at all of the Starbucks locations throughout Walt Disney World, including the new spot that opened up in Epcot. You can learn more about this new Starbs location here. Have you tried the Smoked Butterscotch Frap before? Tell us if you think it’s a tasty drink or not in the comments below! 14. Don’t worry friends we get it…you spend a lot of money to dine at Disney World and that LAST thing you want to have happen is for your food to be subpar or even worse…just plain awful. Nine Dragons Restaurant Throughout the years a few dining locations have gotten a bad wrap — some for good reason! Lately, we have given a few of these restaurants and a second chance and we’ve come up with a few that we believe you should try again too! Nine Dragons Nine Dragons is a table service restaurant in the China Pavilion at Epcot. They serve a variety of Chinese dishes including beef, chicken, and seafood and noodle dishes. BUT, these guys have a bit of a bad wrap. Many feel that the location does not serve the best or really the most authentic Chinese food. Because of this, many people choose to forego the location as Epcot has a lot of other great dining spots to choose from. Nine Dragons Sign But, we think that it might be time for you guys to give Nine Dragons another chance! We recently did and were pleasantly surprised — check out the review here! We do agree that it is a bit more like American Chinese takeout, but if that’s your thing this really isn’t a bad go to. The food might not be super authentic, but we thought it was still quite yummy. The location also offers fantastic atmosphere, which is another bonus! Honey Sesame Chicken So, go out and give it another try and let us know what you think? Do you see improvements? Check out our latest review of Nine Dragons HERE! ABC Commissary One quick service location that has really gotten a bad rap over the years is the ABC Commissary in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. And for the longest time, we whole-heartily agreed. The location is BUSY and we found most meals weren’t enjoyed, rather, they were scarfed down! The food, for the most part, has been subpar standard theme park food. It was not a spot on our must-eat list…at all. ABC Commissary BUT, Hollywood Studios has been going through a major dining overhaul. Locations have been upping their game and changing their menus. So, when we saw that ABC Commissary had added a few new options to their menu, we decided to give it another try. And to our surprise, we enjoyed the food we ordered! Like…the food was good! ABC Commissary While we were there during our last visit, we tried the Pot Roast, buuut we’ve also had the BBQ Ribs Platter and the Shrimp Teriyaki Bowl too– read the full review here. And guys, most of the dishes were good and they weren’t just standard burger and fries options, so that made us happy. Shrimp Teriyaki Bowl AND back in June, ABC Commissary underwent a refurbishment and made way for an all-new dinner dining experience that you can now make reservations for (It still remains a Quick Service location though! Think of it like how you can book Advance Dining Reservations at Be Our Guest for Quick Service breakfast and lunch.). The recent updates included new self-service beverage stations, updated decor, and a new dinner dish that features Pot Roast served over mashed potatoes and root vegetables with crispy onion strings. And you know what? We were impressed by the new dinner service and we thought the Pot Roast was absolutely delicious! Real plates, cutlery, and quality tasting food? Color us pleasantly surprised! Pot Roast With all the changes happening around Hollywood Studios, especially over at ABC Commissary, we think it’s time you give it another chance. Make sure you let us know what you think this time around! Click here to see our recent review of ABC Commissary! Sebastian’s Bistro While Shutters used to be the primary spot for table-service dining at the Caribbean Beach Resort, Sebastian’s Bistro has bubbled up to take its place. Although Shutters didn’t have an outstanding menu or particularly tasty meals, Sebastian’s Bistro is worth a try as the new Old Port Royale jewel. The last time we were there, we tried the Empanadas and Classic Mile High Key Lime Pie among other menu items. Sebastian’s Bistro But, the real star was the Taste of the Caribbean, made with rice, black beans, and shaved carrot with a trio of proteins chosen by the guest! Although we picked the Coconut Shrimp, Jerk Chicken, and Slow-cooked Pork, we would go back again to try the Goat Curry and Plant-based Curry. You can read all about our review here! Taste of the Caribbean Even though you might not visit Caribbean Beach unless you’re staying there, the resort houses the center hub of the Disney Skyliner. So chances are if you take a ride on the Skyliner, you’ll be swinging by Caribbean Beach! It’s an easy-to-access location for many guests. While it might not be a destination spot, it’s definitely worth checking out if you’re on the Skyliner or staying at the resort. Plus, Banana Cabana is right next door for a GREAT pre-dinner drink (or two). Banana Cabana Drink! We’re happy we gave Sebastian’s another shot and, if you give it a chance, we hope you agree! Check out our review of Sebastian’s Bistro here! If you’re interested in what the locations you should really avoid while visiting Walt Disney World, make sure you check out the video below! 15. We traveled back to Disney’s Riviera Resort today to see try some more delicious desserts! Le Petit Cafe While we reviewed a TON of delicious goodies at Le Petit Cafe, today we wanted to review the ever-so-chocolatey Bouchon Brownies! Bouchon Brownies or bouchon au chocolate get their name from their tall, cylindrical shape. Bouchon is French for “cork” which perfectly describes how these little guys look thanks to the special pans they’re baked in. Bouchon Brownies From the outside, they look like everything a good little Bouchon Brownie should be. Super dense and chocolatey with a somewhat crunchy exterior! Bouchon Brownies And when we cut one open, the texture inside is extremely fudgy! The brownies were super-rich and moist while the flavor wasn’t overly sweet to us. In fact, we think the light dusting of confectioner’s sugar saved us from going into full-tilt chocolate overload! Bouchon Brownies And the best part? You get five Bouchon Brownies for $6.99 or just one Disney Dining Plan snack credit! We think these would pair nicely with a specialty coffee drink which Le Petit Cafe also serves. We can totally envision ourselves chillin’ out at the Voyageur’s Lounge right next door with some of these little Bouchons and an espresso drink! Bon appetit! And don’t forget that Le Petit Cafe also doubles as a bar at night. See our full evening menu review here! Have you tried any of the pastries or desserts at Le Petit Cafe yet? 16. In our first Disney Doodle of 2020, artist Ashley Taylor imagines what Snow White would do if she had the chance to visit Magic Kingdom Park with some of her forest friends. In the 1937 film “Snow White,” the young princess is befriended by all kinds of animals on her way to the Dwarfs’ cottage in the woods. According to Ashley, it’s Snow White’s draw toward nurturing animals that may send her seeking out an attraction filled with wildlife, like Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room in Adventureland. “Snow White is kind and compassionate towards all creatures,” Ashley said. “It’s easy to imagine her wanting to sing and spend time with Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room birds!” View the full article
  17. Baby Yoda has officially taken over the Disney parks (and our hearts)! The Child ©Disney Whether you’ve been watching The Mandalorian on Disney+ or not, chances are high you’ve seen a million a meme or two of this adorable little green guy! 18. When the Tropical Hideaway opened in Disneyland’s Adventureland back in 2018, we felt like we’d stumbled upon our own private paradise! “Dole Whip, I Presume” at The Tropical Hideaway We’re talking a menu consisting of Dole Whips and Bao Buns to be enjoyed next to flickering tiki torches on a Jungle Cruise-meets-Enchanted Tiki Room-themed open-air patio! 21. Now there’s even more places to take in the big game in Disney World! Atlantic Dance Hall We enjoy watching football games at the ESPN Club on Disney’s BoardWalk (which you can read more about here), but sometimes ESPN Club can get super crowded during those big Sunday games. But now, there’s another location on Disney’s BoardWalk that has opened its doors open for Sunday football! We were spending our Sunday afternoon strolling around the Boardwalk when we noticed a surprising light-up sign and some inviting open doors. That’s right, Atlantic Dance Hall is showing NFL games on Sundays for the season! Atlantic Dance Hall Football Sunday Of course, we had to step inside and sure enough, we found a bunch of people watching that Seahawks versus Eagles wildcard game on a big projector screen! Projector Screen We talked to some of the Cast Members there (who were all wearing ESPN Club costumes) and they told us that the Hall was opened to accommodate overflow from ESPN Club since it gets SO popular during big games. Watchin’ the game! The Hall isn’t serving food, but you can bring food in so saddle up to the Pizza Window or Ample Hills Creamery and grab your fave snack before heading over. Bar Aaaaand, even though they don’t have the food they do have a bar which is almost as good IMO. Take your pick from a variety of bottled/canned beers, some tap beers, and a full-service liquor bar. Wowza. Bar Selections So no worries if you can’t make it to ESPN Club early enough to grab a seat, instead, swing on over to Atlantic Dance Hall so you don’t miss even a single field goal. The space will be showing football every Sunday until the Superbowl! Want to chow down on one of our fave Boardwalk snacks while you watch the game? Click here! 22. The Disney Skyliner is a new mode of transportation offered to help guests get around Walt Disney World resort. If you’re staying at one of the four Disney resorts on the Skyliner, you can now get to Hollywood Studios or Epcot in a matter of minutes by hopping on the gondola line. Disney Skyliner While up until this point, the other options for free transportation at Disney World have stayed the same for the resorts on the Skyliner line, it looks like that has now changed! The Disney Bus Service to both Epcot and Hollywood Studios has been reduced to once per hour at Disney’s Caribbean Beach, Pop Century, Art of Animation, and Riviera Resorts. Instead, guests at these resorts are being directed to use the Disney Skyliner to travel to Epcot and Hollywood Studios, as evidenced by this sign at the bus station of Pop Century. Pop Century Bus Stop We spotted a similar notice at the Caribbean Beach Resort as well, advising guests to use the Skyliner for trips to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. Caribbean Beach Bus Stop Even though the signs seem to imply the Skyliner is the only way to access these parks, multiple Cast Members assured us that the buses will still be coming to these resorts, just at a greatly reduced rate. The change has been implemented to all four resorts on the Skyliner, so for the quickest (and most scenic!) way to get to Epcot or Hollywood Studios, you’re likely going to want to take the most magical ride in the sky! If the Skyliner isn’t your jam and you’re not wanting to wait an hour for the bus, check out another mode of transportation at Walt Disney World Resort here! 24. While you may already know that being an Annual Passholder comes with MANY perks… ©Disney …now Disneyland is upping its game EVEN MORE! Forget the exclusive merch, like the latest Disneyland AP Phone case, and early access to Disneyland After Dark tickets. We’re talking about a new AP-only outdoor patio with its own signature cocktails! Alfresco Tasting Terrace is now reserved exclusively for Annual Passholders and their guests. Located inside California Adventure Park, the Alfresco Tasting Terrace offers stunning views of Cars Land from the top of the Wine Country Trattoria building! Alfresco Tasting Terrace This unique dining and lounge experience, named Sunshine Plaza, features exclusive drinks that celebrate Disney California Adventure’s history. Sunshine Plaza Menu In addition to their excellent California wine list and delicious bites, like the Charcuterie and Cheese Board, guests can indulge in 5 tasty cocktails — and one secret menu drink! Annual Passholder Eats and Drinks ©Disney Drinks Let’s check ’em out! The Stinger is priced at $15.00 and features Dulce Vida Pineapple-Jalapeno Tequila, Cointreau, and House-Made Orange-Habanero Simple Syrup. The name is a salute to the Orange Stinger, one of the park’s opening day attractions. The ride has since been re-themed as the Silly Symphony Swings. The Stinger We found The Stinger to be very appropriately named! There is a very light scent of habanero before you take a sip – a preview of what’s to come! The drink is deceiving at first, hitting your sweet taste buds at first sip. But once the drink hits your throat, that sweetness immediately converts to a sting and it becomes pretty spicy!! VERY light notes of the orange peel were present while any of the taste of the mint leaf garnish was almost completely absent. If you don’t like spicy foods/drinks, you may want to move further down the drink menu! The Stinger Their take on a Manhattan features Buffalo Trace Bourbon, MacMurray Estate Pinot Noir, house-made simple syrup, and a charred cinnamon stick. This one is priced at $16.00. This cocktail doesn’t represent a piece of California Adventure’s history…yet. A Cast Member told us the “Manhattan” moniker is only temporary while they wait for the official undisclosed name to be announced! Manhattan This drink is very comparable to an Old Fashioned, and if you enjoy similar drinks to that, we think you’ll be a fan of this one! The drink was garnished with a charred cinnamon stick, which we thought enhanced the aroma of the drink more than the flavor. Also, kudos to the ice maker because our single large cube of ice was very crystal clear and dissolved nice and slow into all that bourbon! Manhattan We LOVE the name of this next one. The Drop In… If You Dare is an ode to the former Twilight Zone Tower of Terror that was reimagined to Guardians of the Galaxy- Mission: Breakout. Priced at $17.00 this one features Hendrick’s Gin, St. Germaine Elderflower Liqueur, Fresh Lemon Juice, and is served with Maraschino Cherry Mix. Drop In… If You Dare This one didn’t work so well for us. Based on the description, we were expecting a sweet, refreshing lemon cocktail like a classic Lemon Drop, and while the tanginess of lemon was there, the overall flavor of the drink was a bit unbalanced. The drink comes with a pipette filled with a cherry mix, which once we squeezed it into the drink helped to tame the overly zesty lemon flavor. But we aren’t sure if the cherry flavor really ever came through in the end. This one could really depend on the bartender and their proportions, so don’t completely count it out! You never know…yours may be mixed a little better! Drop In… If You Dare The days of Paradise Pier may be gone — but they are not forgotten! One of those relics of the past is the Fun Wheel! This colorful cocktail is a tribute to Pixar Pier’s giant ferris wheel, now named the Pixar-Pal-A-Round Wheel. The Fun Wheel is one of our favorite drinks so we had to sip on it again! Priced at $14.00, bask in the memories with Captain Morgan Spiced Rum, Bols Blue Curacao, Premium Vodka, and Pineapple Juice. Fun Wheel This Fun Wheel is a slight variation of the previous version. What makes this drink different from its previous release is it doesn’t have a top layer of “lime foam”. This drink is especially great for those who like tropical, sweet drinks. With no one flavor dominating the whole thing, it was just a subtly sweet drink that was fun to drink AND photograph before mixing it all together! Fun Wheel Not the first cocktail to have an affiliation to Neil Patrick Harris (We’re talking about the new NPH created margaritas at Epcot), the 5… 4… 3… 2…1 is a tribute to the original launch of the California Screamin’ Coaster voiced by the A-list celeb, which has since been re-themed to Incredicoaster. Priced at $15.00, it features Captain Morgan Spiced Rum, Bols Blue Curacao, House-made Simple Syrup, Fresh Lime Juice, and a Tropical Juice Blend. 5…4…3…2…1 This was another awesome drink with sweet, tropical flavors. There’s a slight creamy/milky flavor and consistency to it and the drink is very eye-catching, probably because of its garnishings and pretty blue and white layers before stirring. Ours was mixed pretty strong although it still tasted nice and sweet. If you’re already a fan of the Fun Wheel, give the 5…4…3…2…1 a shot! 5…4…3…2…1 But that’s not all! The Cast Member who was serving us today also told us about a secret menu drink named Nutmeg! This drink isn’t named after an old attraction, but rather a current resident, Nutmeg the cat! The long-haired orange cutie has been roaming the woodsy area by the Terrace for the past 5 years. Here’s the old rascal himself, caught in the act! Nutmeg! The drink consists of Baileys Irish Cream, Frangelico liqueur, rum, and freshly ground nutmeg! Typically, the Nutmeg is served in a martini glass but they were out of those glasses, so we ended up with this old-fashioned-looking version. We knew by the scent (which smelled A LOT like a gingerbread) that we were going to love the spiciness of this drink! Not only did it taste slightly like gingerbread, but there was also a subtle hint of coffee to it. The ground nutmeg on top added a nice burst of flavor to each sip. Why they made this one a SECRET, we’re not sure because we think people will LOVE it! Nutmeg Read about more secret menu items in Disneyland and Disney World here! Getting Into Alfresco Tasting Terrace While this lounge feels cozy and would be the perfect spot to spend the entire afternoon, they are limiting it to 2 alcoholic beverages per eligible guest. The Alfresco Tasting Terrace is currently open from 11:30 AM until one hour before park closing on a first-come, first-served basis. Check-in is located at the station in front of Walt Disney Imagineering Blue Sky Cellar. And while we waited a really long time to be seated, your experience may vary. Once we were at our table, the drinks only took about 5-10 minutes to come out luckily!
