Every week, we report the average Disney World wait times in every park so that you can be prepared for your next trip to Orlando! TRON Lightcycle/Run Disney World wait times have a reputation for being, well, unpredictable. Sure, we can look at past data to get an estimate of the crowd levels in Disney World, but you never know what may happen from year to year. So how did Disney’s wait times hold up against President’s Day crowds? Well, the resort’s busiest ride had a wait of over 100 minutes, and that was just a start… Take a look at this week’s average wait times for proof! This is everything you need to know about the average wait times in Disney World over the past seven days. Wait times were out of control with the President’s Day crowds. The 2026 runDisney Springtime Surprise Weekend is getting closer, and Disney just revealed what the medals for the event are going to be! ©runDisney The runDisney Springtime Surprise Weekend is taking place from April 16th to the 20th at the Walt Disney World Resort, and we’re getting ready for the big race. Our excitement level for the event just went up after Disney revealed what all of the medals look like, and now we’re going to share them with you! The race weekend “celebrates iconic Disney duos and the magic that happens when you tackle every mile together.” It’s an amazing event to be a part of, whether you’re running alone, with a group, or your own iconic duo. We’re always so excited to see the themes and characters that will be featured — maybe you’re favorite character is a big part of the race this year! runDisney The 5K is run with Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde, you’re favorite cop duo from Zootopia. We love the design of the medal — mostly the way they shaped it as a cop badge. ©runDisney The 10K race is alongside your pals from the Hundred Acre Woods, Winnie the Pooh and Tigger. The medal has an adorable look! We’d definitely be excited to get this one. ©runDisney The 10-Miler race is going to be an emotional one with Joy and Sadness. The design of this medal is also very cute, and the colors pop. ©runDisney If you choose to do all three races for the 19.3 Mile challenge, it’s going to show you a whole new world. The medal features Aladdin on the magic carpet and the Genie coming out of the lamp. ©runDisney No matter which race you choose, you’ll be rewarded with a vibrant, dynamic duo medal. Also, don’t forget that there will be a gathering for an early morning yoga session at Disney’s Hollywood Studios to round out the race weekend. Make sure to register! Something HUGE is happening in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, but we bet you already knew that. We’ve been following the construction of Pueblo Esperanza, a new Tropical Americas-themed land, since DinoLand U.S.A. started closing in phases, but now that ALL of DinoLand has closed (Goodbye, DINOSAUR), work on the new land is taking a huge step forward. Model of Madrigal’s Casita The one thing we’re most excited about is the Encanto ride, which will bring the Casita from the film to real life! Inside, there will be a cool ride themed around the movie…and we can hardly wait. In the meantime, though, we keep checking construction at the site of the new land, and construction on the ride is coming right along. So all of DinoLand U.S.A. is now surrounded by construction walls, but you can’t miss the construction of the Madrigal casita, which looms over the walls. The first few levels of the Casita have already been built. Let’s see how it’s looking We also saw a lot of equipment on each level of the casita, as workers continue to do their work on it. It doesn’t SEEM like a lot has changed since we last checked, but there really has. Note that this is just what we can see…there’s a lot that has been developed in and around the Casita, too, as we’ve seen in aerial photos. Equipment on the floors In concept art and the model of the land, we’ve seen that the Casita is about three levels tall, with a few towers. Of course, we don’t always get EXACTLY what’s in the concept art, but it looks like most of the basic beams and structure of the building are in place. ©Disney There are also plenty of cranes and construction vehicles on site as work continues on the ride’s building. Crane Being able to see all the progress being made on the ride and new land keeps us going since we’ll have to wait for 2027 to see it all for ourselves. For now, we’ll just keep an eye on construction and keep you updated, so stay tuned to DFB. There are lots of popular rides around Disney World for many different reasons, but over in Magic Kingdom, you’ll rarely find one more popular (especially among families) than Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train This family-friendly coaster is tons of fun, isn’t too overwhelming for those not used to coasters, and we love the theming and elements inside. However, if we’re being honest, there are a few things about this ride, or about experiencing this ride, that would make it MUCH better. If we were in charge, these are the NEW rules we’d put in place for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. Single Rider Line We know, we know, a single rider line at this attraction would likely take a little longer than others since the ride only seats two people per row, but hey, WE’LL TAKE IT! Many guests, including Disney adults and people who head to the parks on their own or split up from their party to make sure everyone can do what they’d like, are begging for a single rider line at this attraction. The line for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train backed up Since this is a family coaster and many groups choose to ride together, we’re thinking that it’s possible that a single rider line wouldn’t get *too* backed up. Regardless, having one available would allow for an additional option — it doesn’t take away the chance to ride with your family, but allows an additional line for other guests who don’t want to wait 50+ minutes to just ride on their own! The Ability to Bypass The Loudest Part of the Queue Alright, if we can’t have a single rider line in general, then we have another request. The queue has a really cool section that kiddos often love — it’s got all those barrels you can spin, and if they all get spun at the same time, you’ll see a special picture/projection in the ceiling! However, we’re the first to admit that for many people, that section of the line is just WAY too loud. It’s cool, but it’s LOUD We would love for there to be an option to bypass this section of the line — not to skip any of it at all, or cut in front of people, but just to wait the same amount of time in a different line to avoid sensory overload. This is especially true if you happen to get stuck at this spot for a while. You’ll walk out of there with your eye twitching for sure (we know because it’s happened to us before…many times). Perhaps this is where single riders could be singled out, since the majority of them would be fine to bypass this section. Carts That Don’t Rock The rocking of the mine carts is fantastic for those who want the full experience and don’t struggle with motion sickness, but for those who do? Yeah, those rocking carts are NOT ideal. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train The carts are designed to move back and forth with the motion of the ride, as well as the weight of who is on board, and while it’s not overwhelming, it can really affect those with moderate to severe motion sickness. Right now, there’s no other option to ride for those who are concerned, and we think it would be great if there were 1-2 carts, even just at the back of the trains, that don’t rock back and forth. This way, more people could enjoy the ride without having to worry about feeling gross for the next hour. A Larger Area For Those Wanting Front Row Some rides in Disney World have specific areas you can wait in if you want to ride in the front row, but Seven Dwarfs Mine Train isn’t one of those. As it currently stands, there’s no waiting area for those wanting to ride in row 1, and we think this ride could benefit from one! Loading area We know there are lots of guests who are willing to wait a few trains to ride in the front, especially for this ride, so while it would require a little bit of construction, we think this could be beneficial for the ride. With so many popular cruise lines to choose from today, guests are weighing not only who has the best ship, but also who has the best private island. Lookout Cay When it comes to cruise vacations, few perks are more exciting than a stop at a private island. But not all private islands are created equal. Some are packed with water slides and adrenaline-pumping attractions, while others focus on soft sand, calm waters, and zero stress. So which cruise line’s private island is the BEST? Let’s break it down. Disney Cruise Line – Castaway Cay (Bahamas) Castaway Cay is Disney Cruise Line’s longtime private island, and for many cruisers, it sets the gold standard. One of the biggest advantages here is how inclusive the experience feels. Your food is included, and even the adults-only Serenity Bay area comes at no extra charge (which is rare in the cruise world). If you bring your own snorkeling gear, you can snorkel for free, adding even more value to your beach day. There’s no beverage package to use here, so alcoholic drinks are an additional cost, but overall, Castaway Cay is refreshingly low-pressure when it comes to upcharges. The island is extremely family-friendly, with classic Disney service, character sightings, and an easy-to-navigate layout. It’s the kind of place where you can step off the ship and immediately relax without planning every detail in advance. Best for: Disney fans, families, and cruisers who want an inclusive, simple, and stress-free beach day. Mount Rustmore at Castaway Cay Disney Cruise Line – Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point Disney’s newest private destination, Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, offers a noticeably different vibe from Castaway Cay. While it’s not a private island, as it is located on the island of Eleuthera in The Bahamas, it is a private Disney destination. It’s brand new and beautifully designed. On the island, families will find all kinds of unique activities. Pink sand beaches and activities will lead them to discover the“magic of Bahamian storytelling alongside favorite Disney characters.” Guests will find a family beach on the east side of the island, with recreation and other amenities. There are very few upcharges, making it another strong option for cruisers who don’t want to feel nickel-and-dimed throughout the day. It’s calm, scenic, and perfect for unwinding. There is also an interactive family water play area with slides, water drums, and more. Toddlers even have their own dedicated space. Lookout Cay hosts its own adult-exclusive beach (north of the family area) by the name of Serenity Bay. It includes a dedicated dining area and six private cabanas available to reserve, and is exclusive to guests 18 years of age and older. Best for: Beach lovers, relaxation-focused cruisers, and guests who want a laid-back, peaceful island day. Lookout Cay Water Play Area Royal Caribbean – Perfect Day at CocoCay If Castaway Cay is about simplicity, Perfect Day at CocoCay is about going big. This is Royal Caribbean’s private island, and a lot is happening here. Think massive waterparks, towering slides, huge pools, a helium balloon ride, and multiple beaches. It feels more like a theme park meets beach resort than a traditional private island. That said, many of the headline attractions require paid passes. Adults-only Hideaway Beach typically starts around $40 per person, and Coco Beach Club can run $120 or more per person. While there are complimentary areas to enjoy, maximizing your experience here often requires planning and budgeting ahead of time. CocoCay is incredibly fun, but it’s not the most low-key option on this list. It’s ideal for cruisers who want nonstop activity and don’t mind paying extra for premium experiences. Best for: Thrill-seekers, families with teens, and cruisers who want action-packed fun from morning to evening. Perfect Day at CocoCay Royal Caribbean – Labadee (Haiti – Currently Closed) Labadee is technically a private port rather than a private island, but it has long been one of Royal Caribbean’s most scenic destinations. Historically, it offered a wide range of activities, including zip lines, parasailing, beaches, and organized excursions. It’s especially known for its stunning coastal views and dramatic mountain backdrops. One major perk for Royal Caribbean loyalists: the cruise line’s drink package typically worked here, adding extra value for guests who had already purchased one onboard. While Labadee is currently closed, we’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for any reopening updates. Best for: Adventure seekers and cruisers who love active shore days. ©RoyalCaribbean Norwegian Cruise Line – Great Stirrup Cay (Bahamas) Great Stirrup Cay offers a balanced, middle-ground experience. Norwegian has upgraded the island with pier access, making arrival easier and more convenient. Food is included, and there’s a good variety of beach areas to choose from, depending on whether you want a livelier atmosphere or something more relaxed. There’s a mix of included relaxation and optional paid activities, but the upcharges here generally feel less aggressive than some competitors. It strikes a nice balance between offering fun extras and keeping the day affordable if you choose to skip them. Best for: Cruisers who want a mix of relaxation and activities without heavy upcharging. ©NorwegianCruiseLine Carnival Cruise Line – Half Moon Cay (Bahamas) Half Moon Cay, Carnival Cruise Line’s island, feels like a throwback to the traditional private island experience. Compared to some of the mega-developed waterpark-style destinations, this island has minimal development and a more natural, scenic feel. Food is included, typically served in a laid-back BBQ setup. Optional excursions like horseback riding on the beach and water sports are available, but they don’t dominate the experience. Instead, the focus is on soft sand, clear water, and a classic beach day vibe. Best for: Cruisers who prefer a relaxed, scenic beach day without heavy theming or crowds. ©Carnival So…Which One Is the BEST? The truth is, the “best” private island depends entirely on your travel style. Want inclusive and stress-free? Castaway Cay stands out. Craving calm and scenic beaches? Lookout Cay or Half Moon Cay might win.Looking for water slides and high-energy fun? CocoCay takes the crown. Want flexibility? Great Stirrup Cay fits nicely in the middle. Each cruise line has designed its private destination with a specific type of cruiser in mind — so the real question isn’t “which island is the best overall”… it’s “which one is the best for you”? Disney Wish at Castaway Cay No matter your cruising style, there is likely an island for you. Disneyland Resort, just like Disney World, is full of construction right now, and practically every time we step into the park, we notice something new that’s happening or an update on a project underway. Disney California Adventure If you’ve stepped into Disney California Adventure for the past few years, you may have noticed that the old Tower of Terror FastPass kiosk still exists, though it is not used for much. The FastPass theming was done away with many years ago, and Tower of Terror was changed to Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! in 2017. The stand has remained unused for years. However, that’s all changing now! For years, if you wanted to skip the lines in Disney World and Disneyland, you’d head to physical FastPass stations around the park and grab a return time for whatever attraction you wanted (as long as it was still available), and it was totally FREE! You’d use that physical FastPass as your ticket to skip the line at the time indicated on your pass, and while it was prominently available for everyone, many people didn’t know about the option. FastPass kiosks in Disney California Adventure However, in 2013, FastPass became FastPass+, and by 2014, it was entirely digital, meaning there was no more need for these physical FastPass stands. When the parks reopened following the COVID-19 Pandemic, no one could skip the lines at all (which wasn’t too bad, since capacity was pretty limited). In August 2021, it was announced that FastPass+ would not be coming back and would instead be replaced with Disney Genie+ and Individual Attraction Selections. Now, that’s evolved into the Lightning Lane system we know today. FastPass kiosks for Matterhorn at Disneyland Back in January, this structure went behind walls, but it wasn’t clear what exactly was happening. That’s all changing right now, though, because a new permit filed by Disney confirms that this stand will be demolished to make way for a new outdoor eating area. New permit! The permit specifically says, “Change of Use: Convert existing detached fast-pass ticket shade structure into outdoor eating area with new joists. With electrical.” Yes, this means that there will be MORE seating in this area, and because of the electrical note, we’re hoping that, in addition to lights, this spot may also have some outlets to charge our phones! Permit We’re hoping this construction will be complete within a few months at the most, because hey, while we’re looking forward to all the new additions, we’re also already a little tired of all the walls! We love Yak & Yeti at Animal Kingdom. They have a rotating seasonal menu that keeps things fresh and exciting for regular visitors like us. But did you know they have a secret menu? Yak & Yeti Restaurant Before seasonal menus launch, they sometimes offer sneak peeks while chefs learn to make the new recipes. We tried three of the secret menu items at Yak & Yeti this week! To drink, we got the Pangboche for $18.00. It’s Tito’s vodka, Kyoto, white, miso and brown sugar, simple syrup, and espresso. It reminded us of an espresso martini and was a great pick-me-up after a long park day! Pangboche To eat, we got the Loaded Bulgogi Kimchi Fries for $15.00. They’re seasoned fries with Bulgogi beef and cucumber kimchi. These fries are loaded with toppings. The beef was tender with a spicy kick, which complemented the refreshing cucumber kimchi and cabbage. The portion size is large and easily shareable. Loaded Bulgogi Kimchi Fries Then we tried the Thai Chili Duck Wings for $18.00. They’re duck wings with sweet and spicy Thai chili and kimchi ranch. The duck wings were fried and crispy with a great taste. These had the perfect amount of sticky and tangy Thai chili sauce. These were pretty spicy – we’d recommend pairing them with a drink! Thai Chili Duck Wings We can’t wait to try these secret menu items again the next time we’re at Yak & Yeti! They also have a spicy garlic edamame on the secret menu, but it wasn’t available on the day we went. Right now, these secret menu items can only be ordered at the bar inside the Yak & Yeti restaurant. Yak & Yeti Restaurant bar We loved these secret menu items from Yak & Yeti. A longtime staple is noticeably absent from Disney’s announcements about the upcoming EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival! The Flower & Garden Festival 2025 The 2026 EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival is just around the corner, running from March 4th through June 1st. Guests who visit during the festival can look forward to specialty food and drinks at the Outdoor Kitchens, live entertainment, and, of course, TONS of gorgeous topiaries and flowers! But one longtime staple is missing from the announcements about this year’s festival. One of our favorite parts of all the EPCOT festivals is taking advantage of the limited-time food and drinks that pop up at food booths all around the park. Avocado Toast from Brunchcot Booth This year’s Flower & Garden Festival will have over 20 Outdoor Kitchens to visit, with lots of returning favorites, plus a brand new booth. But one spot is also noticeably absent from this year’s list. 2025 EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival Located near the Canada Pavilion in World Showcase, Refreshment Port usually gets in on the EPCOT Festival action, serving themed food and drinks during the events. Refreshment Port Spread 2025 EPCOT Food and Wine Festival But earlier this year, Refreshment Port was closed for refurbishment, meaning it wasn’t one of the food booths available during this year’s EPCOT Festival of the Arts. The Refreshment Port is still closed! Disney didn’t announce a reopening timeline for the location, but we did notice that Refreshment Port is NOT listed as a food location for this year’s upcoming Flower & Garden Festival. Refreshment Port There are no hours listed for Refreshment Port on the Disney World website through April 21st, which is as far out as the calendar currently goes. That doesn’t mean that it definitely won’t open before then, but as of right now, we can’t be sure how long it will be closed. Turkey Poutine If you typically look forward to a stop at the Refreshment Port for some specialty poutine during EPCOT festivals, beware that you’ll need to find another spot to snag it for now! In EPCOT, you can try to grab a reservation at Le Cellier Steakhouse and order the Signature Poutine. Just keep in mind that reservations can book up fast, so you’ll need to plan in advance for this one (and allow more time & money in your budget since it’s a table service spot). Signature Poutine from Le Cellier Or, if you’re looking for a grab-and-go poutine place, you can head to The Daily Poutine at Disney Springs for a variety of different options with no reservation needed! The Daily Poutine We’ll continue to keep an eye on the situation at Refreshment Port, so stay tuned to DFB for the latest updates! 76 (!!) It’s no secret that we love to eat — and drink — our way through EPCOT’s World Showcase, but that’s not the ONLY thing we enjoy doing there. We also love the entertainment, meeting characters, and getting to travel around the world without ever leaving EPCOT. France Pavilion But one thing we also LOVE to do is visit all the shops in each World Showcase Pavilion because you can find some unique souvenirs that you won’t find anywhere else. Well, we just found what might be our new favorite souvenir in the France Pavilion, and trust us…you’re going to want to run to EPCOT ASAP and grab it. The new souvenir we’re talking about is this Minnie Mouse Bag that looks like those gigantic character head bags we’ve seen EVERYWHERE (they are SO viral). But this Minnie Mouse Bag is a little different because she has traded her big bow for a beret and a stylish scarf. So VERY French. Seriously, TAKE OUR MONEY NOW. The front of the bag is ALL Minnie (as it should be). She’s so cute! The back of the bag is also a lot of fun. It says, “Paris, Bonjour, Merci, Amour,” and has the EPCOT World Showcase logo on it. So that makes this bag even MORE unique because it’s exclusive to this location (at least for now). You’ll find it at L’Esprit de la Provence. EPCOT exclusive! Seriously, this is one of those bags that will have people begging you to tell them where you got it. And all you have to say is, “Oh, this old thing? I found it in France.” While you’re at it, might as well stop by Crêpes À Emporter for a crêjpe just to feel even more French in EPCOT. We’ll keep an eye out for more unique souvenirs from all over Disney World, so stay tuned to DFB for more. 6 Overlooked EPCOT World Showcase Restaurants You Keep Forgetting to Add to Your List Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! Ever since Sprinkles and their delicious cupcakes permanently left Disney Springs at Walt Disney World in January, we’ve been asking what the replacement is! Sprinkles Cupcakes Well, we no longer have to wonder what’s coming, because it was announced that Black Tap is coming to the Sprinkles location at Disney Springs in a unique way! This spot used to be available only on the West Coast, but that’s no longer the case. Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes is a popular spot that serves up delectable burgers and super over-the-top milkshakes at Downtown Disney at the Disneyland Resort. But, for a limited time, Black Tap is doing a pop-up on the East Coast! The crazy, over-the-top shakes that are super popular at Disneyland are finally making their way to Disney World! Freeform 31 Nights of Halloween CrazyShake The pop-up shop will officially open on March 2nd. The location at Disney Springs won’t be a full Black Tap like the one in Disneyland, as this spot will only serve milkshakes. Sorry, no burgers or other food items. The other thing to note is that this experience is for a limited time and will only last for three months. Shake flight Disney shared what will be available at the pop-up, and this is the list: BAM BAM SHAKE: Vanilla frosted rim with fruity pebbles® topped with a fruity pebbles® rice krispy treat, strawberry pop-tarts®, laffy taffy®, whipped cream & a cherry THE COOKIE SHAKE: Vanilla frosted rim with cookie crumbles topped with a ‘cookiewich,’ crumbled cookies, chocolate chips, whipped cream & chocolate drizzle COOKIES ’N CREAM SUPREME: Vanilla frosted rim with crushed OREO® topped with a ‘cookies ’n cream’ sandwich, crumbled OREO®, whipped cream & chocolate drizzle BROOKLYN BLACKOUT: Chocolate frosted rim with mini chocolate chips topped with two chocolate brownies, whipped cream & chocolate drizzle SPECIAL EDITION MICKEY CRAZYSHAKE: Vanilla frosted rim with Disney’s Mickey Mouse sprinkles topped with a homemade Mickey Mouse-shaped crisped treat, white & red rock candy, whipped cream, red sprinkles & a cherry Mickey Shake We’re seriously so excited for the Black Tap pop-up to arrive at Disney Springs. For three months, we’ll be having nothing but shakes — gotta make sure we get as much in while they’re here. That means we’ll be putting out lots of reviews! There’s a LOT happening this week in Disney World, so if you’re visiting this week or in the upcoming months, you’ve gotta know about these changes ASAP. Hey Timon! While there is construction and changes happening all over the resort, a bunch of the changes happening this week are located inside the parks — specifically EPCOT and Animal Kingdom. Yes, this is indeed the week we’ve been dreading, and it’s here — this week, not only does Festival of the Arts end in EPCOT, but Rafiki’s Planet Watch closes for MONTHS to make way for a new Bluey experience, and we may never see it the same again. Disney’s Hollywood Studios Animation Courtyard Animation Courtyard closed on September 25th, 2025, to make way for Walt Disney Studios. This new area is expected to open in summer 2026 and will be a special nod to the Walt Disney Studios lot. Star Wars Launch Bay will be turned into The Magic of Disney Animation. This attraction will have you interacting and exploring with this fun take on Disney Animation headquarters. Most recently, we just saw Disney add some new trees to the interior here. @bioreconstruct on X This area will also feature a new Drawn to Wonderland indoor play area and the current Disney Jr. Play and Dance! show will be getting a makeover. During the transformation, you will still be able to visit “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure” and Walt Disney Presents. Muppets Courtyard, including Muppet*Vision 3D, PizzeRizzo, and Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano Muppet*Vision 3D AND PizzeRizzo closed on June 8th, and Muppets Courtyard has been walled off so construction can begin on the new Monsters, Inc. land. Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano has been closed since May 11th. Most recently, we got a look at the land as a whole, and we can see that almost all Muppets theming has been removed from the area, with the exception of the PizzeRizzo sign. ©bioreconstruct Don’t worry, the Muppets won’t be missing from Disney’s Hollywood Studios forever. The Muppets will eventually be taking over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster in summer 2026. Why Disney World Refuses to Add Characters to Roundup Rodeo BBQ EPCOT Refreshment Port Refreshment Port located near the Canada Pavilion in EPCOT’s World Showcase is temporarily closed for refurbishment as of January 12th. Not so great news if you were hoping to snag a specialty poutine during the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts. The Refreshment Port is closed However, there will still be plenty of yummy snacks to grab! Disney hasn’t yet announced what will be done at Refreshment Port or when the stand will reopen. However, we will keep an eye and ear out for progress and keep you updated. Don’t Risk Spoiled Medication While Traveling! Here’s How to Keep It Cold & Safe. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Since February 2nd, it’s been official that DinoLand U.S.A. is officially closed to make way for the new Tropical Americas land, Pueblo Esperanza. Don’t get us wrong, we’re looking forward to what’s new, but especially since we just recently saw the DinoLand sign come down, we’re missing DINOSAUR and the rest of this uniquely themed land already! The DinoLand sign is gone! This new land is expected to open sometime in 2027 with three new rides, a new restaurant, shopping spots, a beautiful fountain, and more, so we’ll be sure to keep you updated on all the latest! When it comes to dining at Walt Disney World, the Magic Kingdom is home to some of the most in-demand restaurants on property, including Cinderella’s Royal Table and Be Our Guest. It’s time to eat! Don’t fret, though, there are ways to better your odds of reserving dining at these eateries… as long as you know how to use the system to your advantage. Book Those Reservations As Far Out as Possible Whip out the calendar and figure out exactly 60 days until your arrival at Disney World, as that’s the first day you can begin making reservations, beginning at approximately 6:00 AM EST (though you can start refreshing at 5:45 AM EST) online and beginning at 7:00 AM EST over the phone. However, also remember that if you’re staying at a Disney World hotel, you’ll actually be able to book for the whole duration of your trip (up to 10 days) from 60 days before your arrival, so you could conceivably book up to 70 days out if you plan a Magic Kingdom day for the backend of your trip. Cinderella White Chocolate Slipper Be Aware of Special Events. When planning your trip and preparing to make reservations, be aware of special events at the park, and keep in mind any you may have tickets for. For example, if you have tickets to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party or Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, you can enter the park beginning at 4:00 PM. So, you can shoot for a dining reservation around 5:00-5:30, which may be available as day guests without party tickets need to leave the park at 6:00 PM. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! Continuously Check for Cancelations If you’re not able to secure reservations as soon as they open, don’t give up. Consistently keep checking the app for cancellations and new openings that you can snap up. You should especially do this in the 48 hours before your visit, as most cancellations tend to happen during this period. Skipper Canteen Take Advantage of Walk-Up Waitlists So, let’s say you make it to the Magic Kingdom and still don’t have a reservation. All hope is not completely lost. Both Tony’s Town Square and the Plaza offer walk-up waitlist availability. To add yourself to the waitlist, all you need to do is: Check availability at participating restaurants via the app—or by scanning a QR code located in the restaurant’s lobby. There’s no need to visit the host stand to check availability. Then, use the app to add your party to the walk-up list of an available restaurant. At this time, you can also confirm your party details, including special dietary requests. Once your table is ready, you’ll be notified to proceed to a specified location. Tony’s Town Square Using these “hacks” should give you a better opportunity of getting reservations for your restaurant of choice next time you visit the “Most Magical Place on Earth.” Stay tuned to DFB for more on Disney World dining. 5 Magic Kingdom Secrets Disney Doesn’t Want You to Know Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! We always have this with us Allow me to introduce you to the JISULIFE Handheld Fan, which is a staple in my park bag, no matter where I’m going! This thing is small, portable, and recharges easily with a USB-C cord. But honestly, you may not need to recharge it often because the battery life is incredible. We love this thing! This fan may be tiny, but its wind power is something serious. It has three different speed settings that actually cool you off instead of feeling like you’re blowing hot air around. It also comes equipped with a flashlight on the end. In the box It’s compact enough to travel in your smaller fanny pack park bags or fit in the pocket of your backpack. I’ve been grateful to have it on me many, many times during those hot Disney World days, and it has even been useful a few times in the winter. Built-in charger I’m not the only one, either! It’s always a little sad when Disney closes a ride, even if it means something bigger and better is coming in its place. We’ll admit we were a little sad when Disney revealed it would close Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue in Disney California Adventure to make way for a new Avatar land. Mike in Disney California Adventure (he doesn’t move) Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue was supposed to close early this year, but it seems like Disney has changed its mind. The ride will STILL close, but it’s now not set to close until 2027. So Mike and Sulley have just received a temporary reprieve. According to The Orange County Register, Disney has confirmed that the early 2026 closing date for the Monsters, Inc. ride will be extended until 2027, so you’ll have a whole more year to ride the attraction in Hollywood Land. The ride was set to close to make way for Disneyland’s Avatar expansion, but, apparently, the ride doesn’t need to close so early for the work that’s already underway in Hollywood Land to create the new land. Monsters, Inc. Mike and Sulley to the Rescue! The dark ride basically retells the story of the first Monsters, Inc. film, where two monsters, Mike & Sulley, encounter a precocious child while doing their scare work because scaring children creates energy to power the city of Monstropolis. By the end of the movie, though, the duo discovers that laugh energy is even more powerful. Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! Disneyland’s project management team is juggling construction of the Avengers Campus expansion (which will bring two more rides to the land), a new Coco ride, and the Avatar land without having to close the Monsters, Inc. ride as soon as initially thought. However, construction still seems to be on track for all three projects. The new Avatar land is not expected to open until 2028 or 2029, so it looks like we’ve got some more waiting to do before we see it. ©Disney Unlike Pandora in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, which is based on the first Avatar movie, the Avatar land in Disneyland will take inspiration from the second and third Avatar films, as well as other upcoming movies in the franchise. The land will contain at least one ride, which seems to be a boat ride, based on concept art. ©Disney We’ll keep an eye out for more construction updates in Disneyland, so stay tuned to DFB for more. We’re T-Minus one month away from the reopening of a long-shuttered Disney dining experience at the Grand Floridian Resort. Garden View Lounge After spending nearly six years closed, the Garden View Lounge Tea Room Experience — located inside the Grand Floridian — is set to reopen to guests on March 19th for the first time in just about six years. Afternoon tea has been a part of the Grand Floridian for decades, with the space formerly offering an afternoon tea party that was mainly geared towards adult guests. This elegant dining experience included teas, finger sandwiches, desserts, and even Champagne, with prices ranging from $35 per adult guest, up to a $150 for two for a special Berkshire package that included caviar. Disney also offered the “Perfectly Princess Tea Party”, a roughly $300 event for younger children and their parents. While both daily events were hugely popular with guests, often selling out months in advance, the parties shut down due to the COVID pandemic, with the rest of Walt Disney World in March of 2020. However, when the Grand Floridian reopened that September, the tea parties were nowhere to be found… until now. A look at the updated lounge According to Disney, the new tea room experience will be a proper British afternoon tea experience featuring premium Twinings tea selections paired with delightful scones, small bites, and exquisite pastries all themed to Alice in Wonderland. ©Disney The full menu, which costs $79 per adult, plus tax and gratuity, includes the following: Teas: Orangery of Lady Grey – Light and fragrant black tea with bright citrus notes of orange and bergamot. A refreshing twist on classic Earl Grey, inspired by sunlit English orangeries London Strand Breakfast – Bold and malty Assam black teas with golden-tipped leaves for richness and a full-bodied finish Nutty Chocolate Flavoured Assam – Rich Assam black tea meets the flavours of smooth chocolate and roasted hazelnuts. A blend inspired by the timeless pairing of tea and chocolate. Spicy Chai – A blend of African black tea and Rooibos with a blend of fragrant spices for a rich and delicious Chai. Exotic Mango & Ginger – A rich, fragrant blend of glorious mango and ginger layered over a base of green tea. Lemongrass & Peppermint – Refreshing lemongrass blended with sweet peppermint, creating an upliftingly smooth herbal citrus infusion. Redbush Caramel Velvet – A vibrant copper-red herbal infusion made from South African redbush leaves. Flavoured with caramel and safflowers for a smooth, comforting cup. Blackcurrant & Lavender – Rich and fragrant, this herbal blend delivers the essence of autumn-fiery golden leaves, vibrant holly berries, and fields of amber harvests. Tea-Based Cocktails: Mint Tulip: featuring Old Forester 1870 Original Batch Kentucky Straight Whiskey, Twinings Refreshers Peach Mango Tea Instant Beverage, and mint Mar-TEA-ni: with Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin, Twinings Earl Grey Tea, lemon, and honey. ©Disney Non-Alcoholic Specialty Teas: Curiosi-TEA: with Twinings Refreshers Strawberry Raspberry Herbal Tea Instant Beverage with a touch of shimmering magic This Way, That Way: with Twinings Refreshers Peach Mango Tea, Herbal Tea Instant Beverage, and mint Food Orange-Cranberry Scone – A classic English scone with orange and cranberry for a starter Curried Chicken Salad Playing Card Tart – Savory curried chicken salad filling topped with cherry gelée Footman’s Feast: Wonderland Salmon Crisp – Wonderland Salmon Crisp with a salmon rillette on a miso brown butter crisp Tweedledee Egg Salad Sandwich – A traditional egg salad on beet bread Caterpillar Cucumber Roll – A delicious combination with butterfly pea-infused cream cheese and cucumbers on pumpernickel Matcha Mad Hatter – Sponge cake with apricot jam and yuzu buttercream Tea Party Tart – Vanilla tart, coffee custard, and chantilly cream Flamingo Croquet Choux – Choux pastry filled with passion fruit cream and a raspberry crunch Painting the Rose – Earl Grey-flavored teacake painted tableside ©Disney There are also additional enhancements available, including a Seasonal Cheese Selection, or Royal Osetra Caviar with Mini Chive Biscuits and Traditional Accompaniments, along with a plant-based menu option as well. ©Disney For younger guests, Disney is offering a $49 Children’s Afternoon Tea featuring “adorably delicious bites, including savory minis like the Queen of Hearts Cheese Toastie, a Fanciful Turkey Wrap, and a Sunflower Seed Butter and Jelly Bun. For dessert, kids can have the Cheshire Cat Raspberry Macaron, the Chocolate Brownie Branch, and don’t be late for the vanilla White Rabbit Cupcake.” ©Disney Reservations for this new experience opened on February 19th, with guests able to book 60 days beginning at approximately 6:00 AM EST (though you can start refreshing at 5:45 AM EST) online and beginning at 7:00 AM EST over the phone. Of course, if you’re staying at a Disney World hotel — including the Grand Floridian itself — you’ll actually be able to book for the whole duration of your trip (up to 10 days) beginning 60 days before your arrival, so you could conceivably book up to 70 days out. ©Disney After nearly 6 years, an afternoon tea experience is returning to the Grand Floridian in ONE month, and it’s sure to be a popular addition to Walt Disney World’s itinerary of offerings, and reservations are available NOW! EPCOT is known as the foodie theme park of Disney World, so it’s got to have PLENTY of great breakfast options…right? Parisian Breakfast If you’re expecting a Magic Kingdom-style lineup of waffles, eggs, and bacon on every corner, you’re going to be VERY disappointed. Surprisingly, EPCOT has one of the smallest breakfast selections in all of Disney World — opting more for pastries and light bites. Still, NOT ALL IS LOST! If you know where to look, you can absolutely start your park day with something solid — including some memorable sit-down meals! We’re breaking down the FULL list of every single place you can get breakfast at EPCOT right now. Let’s dive in! Sit-Down Restaurants If you’re looking for a hearty sit-down breakfast at EPCOT, you’ll have three choices. Let’s start with Akershus Royal Banquet Hall! Akershus This is EPCOT’s signature character breakfast featuring Disney Princesses. The meal is served family-style and includes traditional American breakfast foods with a few Norwegian additions. Breakfast at Akershus The food is criminally underrated, and the experience as a whole is totally slept on. This is one of our favorite character dining experiences in all of Disney World! REVIEW: Why You Should Skip Disney World’s Cinderella’s Royal Table and Eat HERE Instead Garden Grill Restaurant is another great character dining experience that stars Chip, Dale, Mickey, and his pals. Dale at Garden Grill The restaurant rotates inside The Land pavilion as it serves up a hearty family-style skillet with eggs, breakfast meats, pastries, and more. Breakfast Skillet at Garden Grill This is hands-down one of the most filling breakfasts in the park, and one you should definitely consider if you’re looking to fill your belly before a long park day. Cancel Your Chef Mickey’s Reservation —This Disney World Restaurant Is Your Chaos-Free Alternative La Crêperie de Paris is not a traditional American breakfast spot, per se, but it is the only non-character sit-down option that opens early enough for a morning meal. Get ready for a BIG meal! You can grab sweet or savory crepes, coffee, or dine from a prix fixe menu. There’s even a significantly cheaper prix fixe menu for kids! Melba If you’re craving crepes, head over to the France pavilion and treat yo’ self! REVIEW: Four Courses For $40 in EPCOT? We’re Spilling the Secret. Quick-Service Restaurants If you’re looking for a quick grab-and-go breakfast, EPCOT certainly has you covered. Connections Café in EPCOT’s World Celebration has a Starbucks that serves up classic breakfast sandwiches, pastries, coffee drinks, and Starbucks specialty drinks that you already know and love. Connections Cafe in EPCOT If you want to keep it simple and reliable, this is the spot for you. REVIEW: We Hate To Break It to You, but You Need To SKIP EPCOT Festival Booths, and Go Here Instead The Land’s Sunshine Seasons serves breakfast platters, pastries, and quick hot items early in the day. Breakfast, anyone? We always recommend checking out the chilled desserts bar and bakery case for some tasty finds! Disney Brought a Mickey Cinnamon Roll to EPCOT, but Here’s Why You Shouldn’t Get It Back in the France pavilion, Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie offers FANTASTIC brunch items, such as fresh croissants, quiche, baguette sandwiches, and coffee — all for affordable prices! Look at this thing! While the breakfast options aren’t your usual fare, the pastries are especially tasty and well worth getting several of! REVIEW: I Didn’t Know What Love Was Until I Tried This New EPCOT Pavilion Snack We’re heading to Norway next to visit Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe! School Bread This bakery offers sweet pastries and light breakfast bites, but it’s a crime if you come here and don’t try the famous school bread — a sweet roll filled with custard and dipped in coconut! There’s also a new and inexpensive cinnamon roll with orange icing that seriously blew us away. Cinnamon Roll with Orange Cream Cheese Icing REVIEW: This Bakery at EPCOT Is ALWAYS Busy…and For Good Reason Over in France, Crêpes À Emporter is a walk-up window next to La Crêperie that serves sweet and savory crepes. Crepes A Emporter If you want crepes on-the-go without the whole sit-down experience, this is an ideal breakfast spot. REVIEW: EPCOT Has a GIANT New Savory Crepe and It’s Exactly as Amazing as It Sounds Lunch Spots Open Early Several other restaurants open early but don’t serve typical breakfast foods, such as La Cantina de San Angel in Mexico. La Cantina de San Angel It opens during breakfast hours, but you’ll need a different kind of appetite because it offersfare like tacos, nachos, and Mexican entrees rather than eggs and pancakes. Mixing a Churro with a Margarita in Disney World? What Could Possibly Go Wrong? Fife & Drum Tavern is also open early, but it’s probably not ideal for breakfast. Fife & Drum Tavern This American Adventure offering primarily serves things like hot dogs, turkey legs, Mickey pretzels, soft-serve, and popcorn. Refillable Popcorn Buckets in Walt Disney World Snack Stands These aren’t full restaurants, but they DO open early with light breakfast-friendly snacks. For example, both Oasis Sweets & Sips and The Land Cart have some solid choices. Açaí Parfait You can grab coffee, pastries, or something small before your first ride. Maybe an Açaí Parfait from The Land Cart or a fruity slushy from Oasis Sweets & Sips! Frozen Citrus Pomegranate Slushy While the options are slightly limited, grabbing breakfast in EPCOT is totally possible — and even recommended!
