  1. We’ve got fantastic news for Dooney & Bourke fans out there — there’s a new collection online that you don’t want to miss! We Love Dooney & Bourke Bags! There’s something extra special about this new collection though that’s important to note — these WON’T be available in stores, as they’re Disney Store exclusives, so when they’re gone, they’re gone. We think this new style will be perfect for a lot of fans out there, but especially if you love Mickey and Minnie! DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. A GORGEOUS New Tote Bag! ©Disney First up is the Mickey and Minnie Mouse Main Street Dooney & Bourke Tote Bag, which features Mickey and Minnie exploring Main Street and all its iconic stores. The design is mostly in a black and white artwork style, but there are pops of black and red all over as well. The bag also features a magnetic snap top closure, an interior zip pocket, two interior slip pockets, a cell phone pocket, and an interior key hook. It’s great to fit all you need, and the design is just one to obsess over. Grab it here! Ears To Match ©Disney Is it really a Dooney & Bourke collection if there aren’t matching ears? The Mickey and Minnie Mouse Main Street Ears are also online, and they feature the same pattern on the ears. The ear band itself is black leather, as is the bow in the middle, and it’s complete with the gold “Dooney & Bourke” badge in the middle. We have a feeling these will also sell out quick, so grab them while you can! Grab it here! We’ll continue to bring you all the latest updates on Disney merchandise news, so stay tuned to DFB! 2. We are in the Disney parks every single day. While we are in the parks, we are constantly testing new products to see if they are a must-get for your next Disney trip. We extensively test each item, so we know we are recommending a good product. One of our favorite park essentials! We want to make sure you know which items will make your trip easier, so you can have the best Disney trip. There are a few items that we were a bit skeptical of at first, but now we couldn’t imagine a Disney World trip without them. These are three items that we almost didn’t buy, but are so glad we did! DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Say goodbye to back sweat and hello to a more supported backpack with the VentaPak Backpack Spacer! VentaPak Lightweight Ventilation Backpack Spacer While we were a bit skeptical of this item at first, we were impressed by its quality and how well it works. If you hate back sweat from wearing a backpack all day, or you are looking for an item that better distributes the weight for more support, you need to grab this item! It is a bit pricier than we would like — normally it is $44, but it is often on sale — we feel lost without this in our backpack. Our park bag! We had it on our backpack for months, and when we finally took it off, we regretted it so badly. The spacer helps create a nice breeze between your backpack and your back, which is really effective at keeping your back more sweat-free. It also helps alleviate the weight on your back by evenly distributing it. We definitely noticed less back pain after a long day of wearing a backpack! Look at that air flow! Our main complaint about this spacer is that you have to tighten the straps for it to work properly, which means you will probably sweat in your armpits because the straps are snug. It also makes it more difficult to get the bag on and off. We noticed that we limited how often we removed the backpack throughout the day because of that. Even with the two complaints, we still recommend this product for anyone who struggles with back sweat or back pain from carrying a backpack. It made our trip so much easier! Get this backpack spacer here! Keep your belongings dry with the Bumkin Waterproof Wet Bag! Bumkin Wet Bag If you are looking for a wet bag to bring with you to Disney World, we have loved this Bumkin Waterproof Wet Bag! Whether you are using the bag to bring your baby’s items, store wet clothes, or pack toiletries, we think it is so cute and works great. We felt like it would protect other things in our bag and look good while doing it! Bumkin Wet Bag We thought the lining could have been slightly thicker for even more peace of mind, but in our experience, it worked great, and we didn’t have any issues with leaking. We also love the adorable Disney icons on the bag, and we think it makes the bag perfect for a Disney World trip! Get this wet bag here! Get our favorite Loungefly organizer — the HOYOFO Backpack Organizer! Loungefly Organizer We LOVE our Loungeflys here at DFB! No matter our outfit or mood, we probably have a Loungefly to match. They make a great park bag, and we love that there are so many styles available. We are always wearing our Loungefly backpacks to the Disney World parks, and we always have this item inside! HOYOFO Organizer The HOYOFO Backpack Organizer is one of our favorite park essentials as it makes it so easy to stay organized. We know exactly where everything is inside our Loungefly, and we can easily switch the organizer into a different Loungefly. It takes just a few seconds to pull it out of one Loungefly and insert it into another. Plus, it’s easy to take out at security if you ever get pulled aside. Loungefly Organizer You can snag this organizer for just $15! It makes switching out your Loungeflys so easy, and you can have a spot for all your park essentials. We love having this in our Loungeflys! Get this backpack organizer here! We are constantly testing out products in the Disney parks, so you know what items you need for your Disney vacation. 3. There’s arguably no more iconic Disney World experience than watching the Magic Kingdom’s fireworks from Main Street U.S.A. However, that’s not the ONLY spot to catch shows like Happily Ever After. Happily Ever After In fact, some experts would argue there are some even more interesting views of the show (especially beyond first viewings)… if you know where to look. Top of the Main Street Train Station Watching from the platform atop the Main Street Train Station provides a unique perspective above the massive Main Street crowds, while still providing views of all of the fireworks and projections. Plus, it also provides the quickest way out of the park once the show ends. From the train station A Ride’s-Eye View Another option, if you’ve seen the show a few times and want to see it from different vantage points, is to try timing a ride on the Astro Orbiter or the PeopleMover to catch part of the show from the elevated vantage point of these Tomorrowland attractions. You can also catch an amazing view of the fireworks while riding the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train in Fantasyland, though this is much trickier to time given the fact that the Mine Train’s wait times never usually fall. Fireworks! Fantasy in the Round If you’re looking for a unique, 360-degree fireworks experience, stake out in Fantasyland near Prince Charming’s Regal Carousel. You get a really fun perspective of being surrounded by the fireworks on all sides, thanks to the various launch points around Fantasyland. Once again, this option is best for those who’ve previously seen the show in full, as you won’t be able to see any of the front of castle projections. View of fireworks from Fantasyland Outside the Park There are some great views of the Magic Kingdom’s fireworks to be had OUTSIDE the park’s berm! You can hop the Monorail over to the Contemporary, where there are TWO vantage points: First, you can make a reservation to dine at the top of the Contemporary at California Grill. While this is a pricey prix-fixe meal, the dining room has floor-to-ceiling windows with stunning views of the Magic Kingdom. Plus, it has an outdoor fireworks viewing deck. Regardless of whether you choose to watch the fireworks inside or outside, they pipe in the music and dim the lights. Before booking your Advance Dining Reservation, make sure to check for current Happily Ever showtimes in the My Disney Experience app. Fireworks deck at California Grill If you don’t want to spring for the grill – or have other dining plans – you can check out the fireworks from a viewing deck right outside the Grand Canyon Concourse. You do not need to be a guest of the Contemporary to watch the fireworks out on the deck, and there are even a few seats available. Word of warning, though: You should get there early, as the deck fills up fast. If the deck is full, you can go up the staircase to the left of the viewing deck and walk up to an empty floor to also watch! You can also make your way over to the Polynesian Village Resort, where you can see the shoe from the hotel’s beach (though be forewarned, on certain Holidays and other occasions, Disney will close the beach to anyone except hotel guests), or if you want to dine while watching the fireworks, the Island Tower’s Wailulu Bar & Grill is an open-air restaurant that has fantastic views of the fireworks. Wave Break Terrace Next time you’re planning to catch a Magic Kingdom fireworks show like Happily Ever After, consider one of these comparatively off-the-beaten-path viewing areas. Stay tuned to DFB for more expert thoughts on the Magic Kingdom. 5 Magic Kingdom Secrets Disney Doesn’t Want You to Know Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! 4. When it comes to dining options in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, we’ll be honest — it’s more limited than we would like. Time to eat! Sure, there are lots of table service and quick service restaurants all over, but when we’re talking about QUALITY meals, it’s a little hard to come by. The Hollywood Brown Derby is the most upscale restaurant in the park, which means it costs a pretty penny. We recently noticed they got some new menu items in, including one of them that replaced an old favorite of ours, so are they worth the visit? We found out for you! We started off with an appetizer, and we grabbed the Hamachi à la Newburg to try for $17. This is Citrus-cured Hamachi, Creamy Newburg Sauce, Fruit Tartare. Hamachi à la Newburg This type of dish has a habit of being overly acidic, but we were very pleased to find that wasn’t the case with ours! It does have acidity, which you’ll notice right on the tip of your tongue, but the flavors here are incredibly balanced. We could have ordered this over and over again and not gotten tired of it! The textures here overall were fantastic — the fish was so thin that it melted in our mouths, the radishes on top had a bit of a grainy taste like they’re supposed to, and the sauce was perfectly creamy. We know this won’t be for everyone due to the flavor profile, but if you’re feeling a bit adventurous, or you know it’s something you’ll enjoy, we don’t think you’ll be disappointed. We were big fans! We also tried the Beet and Kale Salad appetizer for $13, which is Spinach, Warm Bacon Vinaigrette, Goat Cheese Cream, Beet Purée, and Candied Walnuts. Beet and Kale Salad This has a pretty intense earthy taste to it, so you’ve gotta be into that if you’re going to appreciate the flavors here. Beets are the main flavor, as they’re all over the dish, but the vinaigrette dressing is a little sweet, along with the walnuts, which counteract that earthy flavor a bit. Our biggest complaint here was that everything was REALLY big — too large to easily put into our mouths in one bite. This dish also has a lot of different textures to it, between the bite of the kale, the smooth and creamy cheese, and the softness of the puree. We’re not sure we’d get it again, but we’re sure it has fans out there! Everything was a little too big! We also grabbed the new Glazed Carrots enhancement for $10, which is served with Mint Yogurt, Pickled Onion, and Dukkah Spice. Glazed Carrots The carrots are baked fully through and have a bit of sweetness to them, but it wasn’t overwhelming. We think this is a good option, especially if you want to get a vegetable in on your trip (which is easier said than done). We would have liked to have a little more of the yogurt, as well as taste a bit more of the pickled onions on top. We do feel these are good to share, as you can put a few on each plate, and that’s extra nice considering the price. We don’t think they beat the Crispy Green Beans, but it’s a decent substitute! We could have used a little more! Finally, for our main dish, we tried the new Seafood Fregola for $51, which is Steamed Clam and Mussel, Poached Scallop, Fregola Pasta, Spring Greens, Crab-Saffron Cream. Seafood Fregola We were given a tiny fork to get the meat out of the clams, which was very helpful, but then you’ll actually want to use a spoon for the pasta, so we had to get the hang of switching back and forth. The sauce here was a dark sauce, which surprised us at first, but we were big fans of it, as it went beautifully with everything. The dish leans salty, but not overly so, and it’s certainly rich, so that’s something to keep in mind. We do wish it was acceptable to share a dish at a table service restaurant (but alas, that’s usually frowned upon), because this is a MASSIVE dish. We’ll also say that we don’t recommend eating this on a hot day in the parks, especially if you’re going to dine here for lunch, then go back out into the heat — your stomach likely won’t be happy with you. This dish is HUGE Overall, we’ll admit that while this is the fanciest spot to eat in the park, we do feel that some of the restaurant’s better options aren’t on the menu right now, and that disappoints us a little. We recommend looking at the menu very carefully before you make a reservation, and be sure you’ll enjoy what’s on the menu and be okay with the price range. More Recent Reviews! 5. Disney technology has been busy blowing our MINDS these days! Disney has confirmed a new Olaf animatronic is coming to Disneyland Paris and Hong Kong Disneyland, and the internet can’t stop talking about him. ©Disney This life-size version of the oh-so-huggable snowman has blown fans away. Now, Disney has given us a new look at him ahead of his debut! Olaf will be serving as Arendelle’s Global Ambassador, which is appropriate because he loves SO many things about Arendelle. He even shared that he especially loves when new friends visit him. Disney hasn’t shared when he will make his official debut, but they did say it would be soon. ©Disney Olaf will also be found over at the World of Frozen in Disneyland Paris, which opens on March 29th, 2026. It’s a safe bet to assume he will make his Parisian debut when the new land opens. It wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to assume he will also arrive in Hong Kong on the same day or just a little bit before that. World of Frozen in Hong Kong The animatronic Olaf will walk, blink, and look around, and even take his arm and nose off! It is certainly unlike anything we have ever seen in the theme parks. ©Disney In Disneyland Paris, the new land will include new character meet and greets, several new restaurants, Frozen Ever After, and more! We can’t wait to personally check it all out once the new land is finally open to the public. We’re also eager to see how crowds will react to the Olaf animatronic and how often he will roam around Disneyland Paris and Hong Kong Disneyland. ©Disney As always, be sure to keep following DFB for more Disney news, updates, and more! 6. If there is one word that describes Six Flags’ management strategy, that has to be “persistent.” Years of underselling its parks with cheap annual passes have failed to deliver positive financial results for the company. So what is Six Flags going to do in 2026? It is going to keep selling cheap annual passes, but this time the company is going to make them even cheaper. That’ll work, right? Six Flags has announced that it will allow Gold-level passholders and members admission to all parks in one of four home regions in North America, as well as to their home park. The company also is running a sale on low-level Silver passes at designated parks, upgrading them to the Gold level for no extra charge. That means that you can now buy a Gold Pass from Six Flags Magic Mountain for just $90. That pass also will get you into Knott’s Berry Farm and Six Flags’ two parks in the Bay Area for free, all year long. The only catch is the pass does not include $35 daily parking at Knott’s, but it does provide free parking at the other parks. At Knott’s, you can buy a Gold Pass for $140 that gets you into Magic Mountain and the Bay Area parks, but again does not get you free Knott’s parking. For that, you have to buy a $300 Prestige pass, which includes access to all Six Flags parks in North America, plus other benefits, including one single-use Fast Lane per visit. Or you can buy a $90 all-season parking pass, but with the Prestige pass selling for just an extra $70 bucks, I suspect that most fans would opt for that. Six Flags also is changing its Perks & Play program this year to extend those benefits to all passholders and members. No more unlocking benefits after a designated number of visits, although Six Flags said that surprise “bonus” perks might be offered to passholders based on their visitation. Perks still can be redeemed only at your home park. It’s all a great deal for fans — expect for that bit about Knott’s Berry Farm not including free parking. I hate when theme parks such as Disneyland and Knott’s do not include parking with annual passes. Making guests pay every time they use their pass hides the true cost of those passes. Related Articles Universal CityWalk: Luke Combs’ Category 10 debuts in 2027 To win Universal transit deal, Musk’s Boring Co. touted Teslas racing through tunnels Party on: Orlando’s LGBTQ gatherings still on tap for June Elon Musk’s tunneling company tapped to link Universal parks New to do at Universal’s Mardi Gras: Meet Prince Gator, eat flancocho But the bigger hidden cost of Six Flags’ pass deal is the risk to the company’s future. With Disney, Universal and even Herschend investing big money in new attractions, Six Flags needs to raise money not just to pay off its massive debts but also to build world-class new attractions to compete with its rivals. Otherwise, fans won’t visit, no matter the price. Cheap passes cannot raise that type of cash, just as they have not for Six Flags in the past. At some point, it now seems inevitable that Six Flags will have to sell underperforming parks to raise that money and focus investment on its top parks. Perhaps this pass promotion is Six Flags’ way to hook fans at its doomed parks on visiting other, surviving parks in their region of the country? View the full article
  7. The number of dining options at Disney World can feel overwhelming. While that means that you can find just about anything you are craving, it can also feel daunting to narrow down the list to decide where to eat. That is why we are here! We have eaten at every single Disney World restaurant, and we aren’t stopping there. We are constantly revisiting restaurants and trying new food, so you always have the most up-to-date information on dining at Disney World. Bread Pudding at House of Blues We recently stopped by House of Blues at Disney Springs for lunch, and now we’re bringing you our FULL review. Is it worth a stop on your next trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth? Find out here! Atmosphere House of Blues isn’t just a restaurant (although that is why we are here today), but also an entertainment venue that hosts a variety of performers. You can find live music at The Front Porch almost every evening, inside the restaurant, and at performances in the Music Hall. House of Blues Now, we want to make sure you realize that the House of Blues at Disney Springs isn’t the only House of Blues. You can find numerous House of Blues locations across the country in Chicago, Boston, Las Vegas, New Orleans, and more. So, if you are looking to dine at a restaurant unique to Disney World, you will want to pass on House of Blues. However, if you are looking for a fun environment with live music and a large menu, House of Blues could be a good choice. House of Blues We stopped by for lunch, and the restaurant was relatively empty. There also wasn’t any live music (but you can check the House of Blues website to find out when it is happening!). However, it still has a fun vibe, and we loved looking at all the decorations throughout the restaurant. You can even find the Blues Brothers inside the restaurant! House of Blues We checked in at the host stand, and we were led to our table. Now, let’s take a look at what is on the menu here! House of Blues Menu House of Blues has a pretty extensive menu, including lots of appetizers. ©Disney A couple of options for salads. ©Disney You can also choose from a variety of mains, such as Shrimp N’ Grits or Cajun Chicken Pasta. ©Disney Or, you can choose from sandwiches and burgers, such as the HOB Smash Burger or the Shrimp Po’Boy. ©Disney There are also side options and a variety of desserts, such as Bread Pudding (a DFB fave!) and Key Lime Pie. ©Disney There are also options for the kiddos! ©Disney There is also an extensive selection of drinks, including refreshers, which are non-alcoholic drink options. ©Disney There are also plenty of cocktails to choose from, like the Green Gator Cocktail or the Espresso Martini. ©Disney You can also get sparkling, white, or rosé wines. ©Disney Plus, there are also some red wines to choose from. ©Disney Last but not least, there are also plenty of beer options to choose from! ©Disney And now, onto the main event! Drinks To drink, we picked up the Green Gator Cocktail for $16. It is made with Siesta Key Toasted Coconut Rum, Midori Melon Liqueur, pineapple, orange, and mint. It is served in a gator souvenir cup! Green Gator Cocktail We have to say that the color is a bit off-putting; it reminded us of murky swamp water. However, even though it may not be the best color, we enjoyed this drink. Green Gator Cocktail It was light, fruity, and well-balanced. The alcohol is not super prominent, which makes it easy to sip on. You would probably like this drink if you are a fan of light, fruity cocktails. Green Gator Cocktail Now, let’s take a look at the eats! Eats First up, we started with the Mac & Cheese Skillet for $12. It is made with a four-cheese sauce and topped with toasted breadcrumbs. This skillet was incredibly creamy and cheesy, with a super satisfying cheese pull. We thought the pasta was slightly over al dente, but not in an unpleasant way, and we definitely devoured this dish! Mac & Cheese Skillet The breadcrumbs added a lovely crunchy texture, although we definitely wish there were a bit more breadcrumbs on top. The mac and cheese is finished with a bit of parsley on top, which adds a great freshness to the dish. It was a bit saucier than the last time we had this dish, which could be a positive or negative depending on your mac and cheese preferences. Mac & Cheese Skillet We grabbed the Shrimp N’ Grits for $26. This is sautéed shrimp with chipotle cream sauce and chives, served with a crispy cotija cheese grit cake. We were pleasantly surprised by this dish! The dish had two stars: the delicious shrimp and the deep-fried grit cake. The shrimp was well-cooked and complemented the other elements of the dish. The grit cake is made with deep-fried mozzarella, resulting in a super crunchy cake. Shrimp N’ Grits We tasted black pepper with each bite, and the sauce is rich and creamy. The sauce clung wonderfully to the components. Shrimp N’ Grits The spice slowly builds as you eat this dish, so if you aren’t a fan of spicy food, you might want to skip this dish. With a huge portion, you definitely won’t leave hungry if you order this dish! Shrimp N’ Grits Next up, we tried the BBQ Bacon Smash Burger for $21. This burger is made with double patties, a brioche bun, cheddar cheese, applewood bacon, crispy onions, and Memphis BBQ sauce. The various toppings add great layers of flavor. It features tangy barbecue sauce, crispy onion strings, and smoky applewood bacon. BBQ Bacon Smash Burger The cheese does get a bit lost amongst the other toppings, though. The bun was toasted, which helped to make the overall burger feel more stable with all the toppings. It is served with a side of fries that were nice and crispy. BBQ Bacon Smash Burger Finally, for dessert, we grabbed the Bread Pudding for $16. The bread pudding serves two people and features bourbon butter and toffee sauce. This is a favorite here at DFB, so of course, we needed to try it again to see if it still tastes as good as we remember! Bread Pudding We are happy to report that it is still delicious! Although you will definitely want to bring at least a friend or two to conquer this dessert. It is ooey gooey perfection that will be living in our dreams for at least a few days. We got an end piece that was caramelized to perfection. Bread Pudding The pudding is soaked in a creamy custard, then topped with bourbon butter and toffee sauce. While this is definitely a sweet dessert, the bourbon butter adds a bit of balance. The toffee sauce is flavorful, and we appreciated that there was enough to have a bit on every bite. Bread Pudding Nosh or Not This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if… You are a music lover or want to experience live music. The walls are covered in music memorabilia, and you will also find paintings and sculptures from over 60 Delta-region artists. Plus, House of Blues hosts live music in the restaurant, on The Front Porch, and in the Music Hall. You want to dine on Southern comfort food. From the Mac & Cheese Skillet to the Shrimp N’ Grits to Bread Pudding, we enjoyed chowing down on Southern fare at House of Blues. You are in Disney Springs without a reservation. Generally, it is fairly easy to snag a reservation here or walk up and be seated. It definitely gets more crowded when live music is happening, but we have usually had pretty good luck dining here at the last minute. We can’t guarantee availability, but it could be a good option to check if you don’t have a reservation. You should skip this Disney World spot if… You are looking for a restaurant unique to Disney World. There are multiple House of Blues locations across the country, so this restaurant isn’t unique to Disney Springs. You are looking for a quiet dining experience. House of Blues has a lively atmosphere, and it can get especially loud when live music is happening. You can check the House of Blues website to find out when live music is happening, though! You want a Disney-themed restaurant or character dining. While House of Blues has lots of fun details, you won’t be seeing lots of Disney-themed decorations or any Disney characters here. Overall Overall, we had a tasty meal at House of Blues. The Shrimp N’ Grits and the Bread Pudding were our favorites, but we also enjoyed everything else. However, it is hard to say that you NEED to stop by House of Blues, as there are so many great dining options at Disney World. Music lovers will definitely enjoy the theming, and we appreciate that the menu has lots of options. But you can also find this restaurant elsewhere, and it isn’t uniquely Disney. Although if you are a Bread Pudding fan, you definitely need to try House of Blues! House of Blues In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disney World and beyond. 8. Bring on the evil!!! Ever since Disney announced a new Villains Land would be coming to the Magic Kingdom, I have been rewatching all of the Disney classics, trying to get any glimpse into what might be coming to the new land. Villains Land ©Disney Could there be a Hades underground roller coaster? A Queen of Hearts maze? A Maleficent meet and greet? Or, will this be bigger than any of us are thinking? Disney has been very quiet about plans for Villains Land, unlike other lands currently being worked on in Disney World. We haven’t been told of any specific attractions, characters, restaurants, or stores, and have only seen one piece of concept art, which looks pretty vague. If this poster is correct, the original vague plans could be turning into something bigger than we could imagine. ©Disney In the concept art, we could see a roller coaster, but that’s about it. Could this be one of the greatest roller coasters ever? The whole space, which is currently being worked on behind Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, is pretty large and has a lot of potential. Piston Peak, the Cars-themed land taking over the old Tom Sawyer Island, is also near the Villains Land space and Big Thunder Mountain and will host two attractions, including an off-road racing ride. ©Disney Other projects Disney has been working on have been pretty ambitious. Pueblo Esperanza in Animal Kingdom is getting three attractions, including a brand-new Encanto ride, which hasn’t been done before. The Casita ©Disney Monstropolis will also have a hanging door roller coaster, which will be a new concept for Disney. You’ll be able to sit in the chair, and a lift will pick you up, just like the doors in the Monsters, Inc. movie. ©Disney Epic Universe, Universal Orlando’s newest third park, which opened in May 2025, has been complimented for its incredible attractions. From huge, thrilling roller coasters, outrageously themed lands, and overly detailed animatronics, Disney might be feeling the pressure to make Villains Land even better. While Universal Monsters and Disney Villains are on different sides of the “scary spectrum,” it’s hard not to compare Dark Universe, one of the lands in Epic Universe, to the new Villains Land. Ygor in Dark Universe Josh D’Amaro was recently announced to be the next Chief Executive Officer of the Walt Disney Company, and since he has a very strong background in Disney Experiences, we’re crossing our fingers that Villains Land turns out to be something truly spectacular. If you could design your own Villains Land, what would you add? Tell us in the comments, and make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more news about Disney Parks. STOP FREAKING OUT. 9. A rare parade has returned to Disney World, and we would bet you’ve never heard of it! Disney parades are some of the most popular forms of live entertainment in the park, but for this parade, you don’t even need a park ticket. The Alice in Wonderland Float! Over at Disney’s Port Orleans resort, there is a very special parade that happens only once a year, and we’re bringing you along with us! Let’s check out the Port Orleans Mardi Gras Parade! Grab your fluffy Mickey beignets and let’s watch a parade go by! The annual Port Orleans Mardi Gras Parade has returned, and these floats have blown us away. They’re golf carts decorated by Cast Members, and you can really see their creativity come through. The carts drive along the Sassagoula River from Port Orleans Riverside to Port Orleans French Quarter. The people were lined up! This year, the theme was Heroes vs. Villains, and the people delivered! To kick it off, a beautiful horse drawn carraige started the parade with Princess Tiana inside. A carriage ride! The next float was Mardi Gras themed! It was super colorful and very appropriate for the day. Mardi Gras float! An Aladdin-themed float drove by, complete with Genie, his lamp, Aladdin, and Abu! The driver even had on an Abu headband. Hey, Genie! The float behind it was inspired by the scene when Jafar turned into a massive serpent! How villainous! The scary serpent! One of the most impressive floats was inspired by the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland! Off with their heads! We went from Zero to Hero thanks to this Hercules float! You can even spot some tiny Muses on the back of it. The Hercules Float! What’s Hercules without Hades, though? His float wasn’t far behind! It was inspired by the boat that floats across the River Styx. The Hades float! Some seriously impressive Cast Members even dressed up in full costume to match their cart! This is real dedication. WOW! Unfortunately, this parade only happens once a year on Mardi Gras, so we will have to wait until 2027 to see it again. 10. Before you go ahead and book a character meal at Disney World, you’ll want to hear this from someone who’s done them all. Mickey Mouse at Garden Grill Character dining can be expensive, and it does take a significant chunk of your day, so you want to make the most of it! If meeting characters is a priority for your family, it’s one of the most efficient and low-stress ways to do it. You skip long lines, get guaranteed interactions, and enjoy a built-in break that can actually recharge everyone. 1. Time Buffet Reservations If the character meal is a buffet, timing matters more than most people realize. Booking a late breakfast, typically around 10:30 AM, can mean you’re seated while breakfast is still out, and then lunch items start rolling in shortly after. That means you can enjoy both menus for the price of one meal, which is a big win considering how expensive character dining can be. It’s one of the easiest ways to maximize value without sacrificing the experience. Buffet at Chef Mickey’s 2. Have a Backup Plan Character dining reservations are some of the fastest to fill at Disney World, especially the popular ones. If your first choice isn’t available, don’t panic, have a backup restaurant (or two) with similar characters or vibes ready to go. This takes the pressure off booking day and helps ensure your kids still get the character experience they’re excited about, even if Plan A doesn’t work out. If your first choice gets taken, book your backup restaurant, but keep your eyes open for reservations to pop up as you get closer to your trip or even on the day of. Snow White at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall 3. Schedule Character Dining for a Rest Day Character meals can easily take 60 to 90 minutes, and that’s time you’re not riding attractions. Booking character dining at a hotel on a non-park day lets you slow down and actually enjoy the experience without constantly watching the clock. You’ll have more relaxed character interactions, better photos, and a built-in break from the go-go-go pace of park days. You can visit Disney’s Riviera Resort for breakfast at Topolino’s Terrace with Mickey and friends, breakfast at Disney’s Beach Club Resort at Cape May Cafe, or have breakfast with Stitch at ‘Ohana at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, just to name a few. Hey, Mickey! 4. Choose Cheaper Alternatives with the Same Characters Not all character meals are created equal, and some are far better values than others. For example, instead of Chef Mickey’s, which is more expensive and often very chaotic, Cape May Cafe offers many of the same classic characters for less money, a calmer atmosphere, and, honestly, better food! Similarly, Akershus Royal Banquet Hall can be a more affordable and less rushed alternative to Cinderella’s Royal Table. You’re still getting the magic, just without the premium price tag and stress. You NEED These 6 Unique Character Restaurants on Your Disney Bucket List! Daisy at Cape May Cafe 5. Use Early Reservations to Enter Early If your restaurant opens up before the park does, you can head inside early. Now, this does not mean you’re going to be able to go hop on rides before everyone else, but you can take the opportunity to grab some great photos on your walk to the restaurant. Restaurants like Cinderella’s Royal Table and Tusker House offer early reservations that allow you into the park before most guests can get inside the park. This means quieter walkways, incredible photo opportunities, and a more relaxed start to your day, all before your meal even begins. It’s a great way to combine character time with smart park strategy. Cinderella’s Royal Table 6. Don’t Assume All Character Food is the Same A common misconception is that character dining equals boring food, but that’s not always true. Tusker House offers a unique buffet with bold flavors and global-inspired dishes, while Story Book Dining at Artist Point features a more refined, sit-down menu that feels like a true dining experience. If food matters to you, choosing the right character restaurant can make a big difference in how much you enjoy the meal. Royal Prime Rib Roast at Story Book Dining 7. Help Timid Kids Enjoy Characters More If you have a child who wants to see characters but feels nervous when they approach, a seating strategy can help. Have your child sit on the opposite side of the table from where characters typically come from and face the direction they’ll arrive. This gives them time to see the character coming, process what’s happening, and feel more in control. This can often lead to a much more positive experience. Ariel at Cinderella’s Royal Table 8. Ravello’s Some character dining experiences fly under the radar but can be absolute gems. Ravello at the Four Seasons offers a “Good Morning Breakfast Buffet with Goofy and His Pals” on select mornings, typically featuring Goofy along with Mickey and Minnie. It’s a more relaxed, upscale setting that still delivers classic characters, and it’s a great option if you’re looking for something different from the usual Disney dining spots. To make reservations for Ravello, you’ll have to call the restaurant directly at (407) 313-6161. Just remember that you will need to arrange your own transportation over to the resort if you’re not already staying there, since Disney’s free transportation services will not drive you over to Four Seasons. You can drive to Four Seasons, but valet parking is required. Fortunately, valet parking is validated at the restaurant (so you don’t have to worry about it being a hefty extra expense on top of your already expensive meal). Goofy at Ravello Character dining can be one of the most memorable moments of your Disney vacation, and we hope these tips help make it even easier! 12. I don’t know about you, but I’ve been counting down the days till Walt Disney Studios opens in Hollywood Studios. The new area is replacing Animation Courtyard and will be opening this summer, and while we don’t have an opening day yet, I’m already planning my visit. ©Disney Disney filed two permits for Walt Disney Studios, and it’s making us even MORE excited for it to open. Walt Disney Imagineering filed a permit to “install signage” at Walt Disney Studios. That may sound small, but it’s actually HUGE. Signage is usually only added towards the end of projects, and while this doesn’t mean it’s going up tomorrow, they are working on the next step. This permit was filed at 755 Stage Lane. @bioreconstruct on X The second permit was also filed by Walt Disney Imagineering to “install signage,” but this time at 561 Stage Lane. We know it’s in the Walt Disney Studios space, so it looks like two of the buildings can be getting some new additions. It might be entryway signage, The Magic of Disney Animation, or the Disney Jr. building. Trees have been added! Star Wars: Launch Bay is being turned into The Magic of Disney Animation, which will have character meet and greets with unique backgrounds based on different parts of the animation process. There will also be drawing classes, which is what I’m pretty thrilled about. ©Disney You can’t forget the Alice in Wonderland-themed indoor playground based on the original concept art by Mary Blair! ©Disney The main space looks like it will have other character meet and greets as well, along with plenty of places to sit back and relax. I can only imagine how nice it will be to grab a snack and have a rest during your chaotic Hollywood Studios day. ©Disney Make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more of the most up-to-date news about Disney Parks. 14. Universal CityWalk will be adding Category 10, a Luke Combs-driven entertainment venue, in late 2027, the country singer and Opry Entertainment Group announced Tuesday. Groundbreaking is set for this summer, they said, on a three-story, 33,000-square-foot experience at Universal Orlando. It will be the third Category 10 in existence, following the Nashville location that opened in 2024 and one in Las Vegas due to open this fall. The exact location of Category 10 within CityWalk has not been released. The Nashville location features line dancing, live music, a lounge, sports bar and rooftop bar. The menu includes burgers, sandwiches, ribs, salads, signature drinks and a 64-ounce “group cocktail” named Life of the Party. “Expanding the Category 10 footprint into this world-class entertainment destination allows us to introduce visitors to an authentic country music experience inspired by Luke’s Carolina roots,” Colin Reed, executive chairman of Ryman Hospitality Properties, parent company of Opry Entertainment, said in a news release. Sam Thomas/Orlando SentinelLuke Combs performed before the Daytona 500 in 2021. (Orlando Sentinel file) “I’m super-pumped and humbled that we’re getting to open a location there,” Combs said in the news release. “My wife is from Florida, so we’re both super-excited about this. I am glad to be bringing our brand of first-class service and awesome tunes to the Sunshine State.” Combs is known for songs including “Hurricane,” “When It Rains It Pours,” “Beautiful Crazy” and “Better Together.” His 2023 cover of Tracy Chapman’s “Fast Car” is one of his No. 1s on the U.S. country charts, and it reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 rankings. Opry Entertainment Group also owns Blake Shelton’s Ole Red, a restaurant, bar and live music venue operating in Icon Park on Orlando’s International Drive. dbevil@orlandosentinel.com View the full article
  15. Stop what you’re doing. Your cart is about to become a time machine. These vintage-inspired Disney finds are giving “Main Street gift shop in 1978” energy, except you’re buying them from your couch in yesterday’s leggings. No shame. Only nostalgia. ©Disney These are the kinds of pieces that feel like you “inherited” them from a cool aunt who used to go to Walt Disney World in the 70s… except your cool aunt is you, and you have a cart and a coupon code. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Vintage Disney Posters This is the easiest way to make your space look like you’ve got curated collector energy, not like I panicked-bought art at 2AM. Vintage-style Disney posters usually pull from classic attraction artwork, old-school park advertisement vibes, and film poster designs that hit you with instant time-machine feelings. Think bold typography, slightly faded color palettes, and that delicious “this was printed in 1978 and found in a magical attic” aesthetic. ©Amazon Why you’ll want it: Vintage-style Disney posters hit that sweet spot of classic park nostalgia, and my living room is curated, thank you. Think old-school attraction poster art, bold colors, clean typography, and that slightly sun-faded look that screams “I’ve been loved since 1971” (even though you just clicked ‘Add to Cart’ five minutes ago). Frame it, and suddenly you’re an adult with taste. Put one in a hallway, and it becomes a mini gallery walk. Put one in a bathroom, and your guests will absolutely stand there reading it like it’s museum signage. (Win.) ©Amazon Who it’s for: People who want collectible vibes without needing shelf space for another figurine army. Who should skip: If you hate the idea of “Disney adult home decor” looking intentional. Let chaos reign, I guess. View on Amazon View-Master Mickey Mouse Deluxe Set This one is pure “core memory” material. If you had a View-Master as a kid, you already know the dopamine hit of clicking that lever and getting tiny 3D scenes like your eyeballs are on a field trip. The Mickey deluxe sets usually come with multiple reels and a themed viewer, so it’s not just cute, it’s an actual activity. A charming little “sit down and be a person who does whimsical things” moment. ©Amazon Why it’s great: It’s interactive nostalgia. You’re not just displaying something, you’re doing the little click-click reveal like a time traveler. It also makes a ridiculously cute gift because it’s unexpected but still very Disney. Collectible factor: Deluxe sets are the kind of thing people keep in pristine condition… or open immediately and then force everyone in the house to take turns like it’s an attraction queue. ©Amazon Pro tip: Display it on a shelf next to a vintage-style poster and suddenly your space says, “I’m whimsical, but I pay taxes.” View on Amazon Disney Ceramics Classic Film Posters Cookie Jar Canister Is it a cookie jar? Yes. Is it also a piece of functional Disney memorabilia? Also yes. This is for anyone who believes kitchen decor should bring joy and possibly enable snacking. ©Amazon It has classic film-poster art with an old-Hollywood vibe that feels timeless, and putting it on ceramics makes it feel extra “keepsake.” It’s giving: gift shop treasure, but grown-up. You don’t need to be sugar-loving, carb fiend to enjoy this piece. Use it for coffee pods, tea bags, dog treats, candy, loose change, the emergency stash of chocolate you hide from your household. You know. Kitchen essentials. ©Amazon Who it’s for: The person who wants Disney in the house but not in a my cabinets are all Mickey-shaped way. Who should skip: Minimalists who believe counters should be “clear.” (Respectfully: could never be me.) View on Amazon The Muppets – Dr. Teeth Vintage Psychedelic Comfort Colors Adult Heavyweight T-Shirt If you’ve ever wanted your outfit to say, “I’m fun, slightly feral, and I know who Dr. Teeth is,” here you go. ©Amazon It looks cool. Like, genuinely cool. The kind of Disney merch that doesn’t read theme park tee; it reads vintage find. The vintage psychedelic look is PERFECT for the Electric Mayhem vibe, and Comfort Colors heavyweight tees have that broken-in, thrift-store-without-the-effort feel. It looks like you found it at a retro shop, except you didn’t have to dig through 40 racks of “Live Laugh Love” shirts to get there. ©Amazon How to wear it: With jeans for casual. With bike shorts for park day. With a blazer for “business casual, but make it Muppets.” (Yes, you can.) Collectible factor: Muppets merch always hits different because it’s less common, and that makes it feel more special when you spot it in the wild. View on Amazon Vintage Classic Country Bear Jamboree Theme Park Series T-Shirt Country Bear Jamboree fans are a special breed. You are loyal. You enjoy an attraction that has survived eras, trends, and the whims of theme park chaos. A vintage-style Country Bears tee is like a secret handshake for park history nerds, and it gives big “I know things” energy. ©Amazon Attraction merch is the ultimate “IYKYK” souvenir. It’s not just Disney…it’s theme park history. The vintage look makes it feel like something you could’ve bought decades ago, and wearing it now is basically a personality trait. Where should you wear it? Disney trips (obviously), casual weekends, or any time you want to subtly signal to other park nerds that you are, indeed, one of them. ©Amazon Who it’s for: Nostalgia collectors, attraction loyalists, and anyone who loves merch with a story. Who should skip: If you don’t like strangers saying “COUNTRY BEARS!!” to you in public. (Because they will.) View on Amazon Ravensburger Disney Vintage Movie Poster 1000 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle for Adults This is your “cozy night in” era, but make it Disney. Ravensburger puzzles are the gold standard for not making you want to throw a piece across the room at 11:47PM. A vintage movie poster design makes it feel like you’re assembling a piece of retro art, and when you’re done, you can either take it apart like a normal person or glue and frame it like the emotionally committed legend you are. It’s relaxing, it’s nostalgic, and it doubles as screen-free entertainment that still feels Disney-coded. A satisfying challenge, crisp printing, and that classic poster vibe that looks great mid-build on your table (even when you swear it’s only there for “a day” and then it’s there for two weeks). ©Amazon Who it’s for: Puzzle people, collectors, and anyone who wants a cute activity for a rainy weekend or a Disney movie marathon night. Who should skip: If you get cranky when you can’t find “that one sky piece” for 20 minutes, hate having your table held hostage for days, or live with tiny humans/pets who treat puzzle pieces like snacks or sport, you might want to skip this one. View on Amazon Final Shopping Hot Take Vintage-inspired Disney souvenirs are elite because they don’t scream I went to Disney, they whisper I have lore. They’re collectible without being fragile, displayable without being clutter, and wearable without looking like you’re headed to a themed family reunion (unless that’s your thing, in which case, live your truth). 16. In case you missed it, Disney recently announced who would become the next CEO of the company! Chairman of Disney Experiences, Josh D’Amaro, is taking over the big job, and he isn’t holding back ahead of his takeover. Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios Rumors have been swirling that he’s already pushing Walt Disney Imagineering to go above and beyond expectations. Now, he’s getting real about things fans like…but they don’t really love. Let’s see if your opinions line up with the new CEO’s right here! Josh D’Amaro is the talk of the town these days. D’Amaro was long rumored to take over the CEO position, but Disney has finally confirmed it. He starts the big job on March 18th, 2026, alongside Dana Walden, who will become Disney’s Chief Creative Officer. ©Disney In a recent interview with Harvard Business Review, D’Amaro got real about guest experience and the “rise of experience intelligence.” Throughout the article, the interviewer breaks down the term experience intelligence, which refers to ” the ability to read and shape the human experience.” Josh D’Amaro in Disneyland D’Amaro’s appointment as CEO signals Disney’s focus on experience intelligence and guest satisfaction in the coming years. For leaders to demonstrate experience intelligence, there are two key factors involved. The first is the type of tools they demonstrate when working with employees. They focus on extreme positive experiences by recognizing that a person’s experiences create lasting feelings that then drive their work and outcomes. Josh D’Amaro in Magic Kingdom The second factor is to get people to say they love something. Not just “like,” not just “enjoy,” but love. Focusing on creating an experience that people “love” can drive up positive feelings and experiences. The feeling of love from an experience “accelerates learning, strengthens loyalty, improves recovery from stress, and drives advocacy.” Josh D’Amaro is seemingly one of these leaders. Josh D’Amaro in Magic Kingdom One specific example is Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. This attraction is located in both Disneyland and Disney World, which tend to see higher wait times. Josh is aware, though, that a fix is needed. In regard to the ride, D’Amaro said, “Guests like it, but they don’t love it.” Millennium Falcon wait time During his time with the interviewer, he shared that he believed the main issue was that it was really a 6-person ride, but only the two pilots in the front controlled the experience. The gunner and the engineer positions are less active, leading those guests to have a lesser experience than those in the front. This is one problem D’Amaro and the rest of the Disney team are facing head-on to correct. New missions will be added to Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort, featuring the Mandalorian and Grogu. In April 2025, Disney announced that major changes would be coming to the attraction, like new Star Wars destinations and increased roles for the engineer role specifically. The changes are debuting on May 22nd, 2026, and the guests will now be able to select their destination. The engineer will also get to communicate with Grogu through the new mission, which we think is a huge improvement on this otherwise limited ride seat. Inside Smuggler’s Run While there’s no guarantee these changes will impact guests the way that Disney wants them to, it’s clear that D’Amaro and his team are focused on taking experiences from “liked” to “loved!” There are several new projects in the works, like Villains Land, Piston Peak, Pueblo Esperanza, and more. We can also appreciate that the team is focused on improving current attractions and not just creating new ones, like in the Smugglers Run situation. ©Disney D’Amaro shared, “Disney is a delicate brand. Anything I can do to help more guests say they love Disney is a valuable use of my time.” Leadership changes are always an interesting time in any company. We’re eager to see how the rise of experience intelligence will impact the theme parks during this time of change and development. 18. Who doesn’t love saving money? We know we do, especially on larger purchases. In the world of Disney, there are few larger purchases than buying into Disney Vacation Club. ©Disney If you’re a Disney Visa Cardmember who’s been thinking about joining the program, especially if you know that you’ll be visiting for years to come (even better if numerous generations of your family are thinking of visiting together for the next few decades), there’s a new perk that will save you BIG. Disney has just announced that Disney Visa Cardmembers can now save $11,500 on a Disney Vacation Club Membership! However, there are a few important caveats to note — you must be purchasing the membership where your home resort is The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort, Disney’s Riviera Resort, The Villas at Disneyland® Hotel, AULANI Resort, Disney Vacation Club Villas, or Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows (including Island Tower), and the current deal available for even non Disney Visa members can save them $10,500 — being a Disney Visa member just gets you an extra $1000 of savings. That’s certainly not nothing, though, so we’ll take it! Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Island Tower Now, this doesn’t include closing costs for your purchase, and there’s another catch in the fine print — you must purchase a minimum of 250 Vacation Points in The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. 19. Well, this is NOT the news anyone wanted to hear today, but here we are. Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin Lightning Lane Both Disneyland AND Disney World are full of construction right now, all to create new experiences and attractions for guests, but as it’s all happening at the SAME time, things are getting rough. Now, Disneyland Resort has just added TWO more refurbishments to their list…both starting on the same day. Currently, the Disneyland refurbishment calendar only goes out to March 30th at this time, but from what we can see, both the Disneyland Monorail AND Roger Rabbit’s CarToon Spin will be going under refurbishment the same day. ©Disney At the same time, Jungle Cruise will be closed in Disneyland as well, and Grizzly River Run will be unavailable in Disney California Adventure. Not to mention, we’re still waiting for the official closure date for Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue, which Disney originally stated would be early 2026. Disneyland Monorail This is all in addition to the major construction happening over in Avengers Campus, with the new parking deck going in, and the entirety of the DisneylandForward project. 20. In case you missed it, Disney is currently developing its first-ever Villains Land! It will be located in the Magic Kingdom, and fans absolutely lost their minds when it was first announced at D23 in 2024. Villains Land ©Disney Since then, we have seen work begin on the land, and Disney has even teased some of the details coming to the land. As we eagerly await new details, rumors have started circulating online that Disney has “scraped” Villains Land, but what does that actually mean? We’re breaking it down here. If you’re seriously into Disney, you might be on the side of the internet where different rumors, theories, and more circulate. We love theorizing and hearing what might be coming to Disney, but lately, we’ve been seeing people worry that Disney is scraping the upcoming Villains Land. What’s really interesting is that there might be some truth to that, but not in the way that you’re thinking. Villains Land is coming to Magic Kingdom! Disney has remained pretty tight-lipped about what we can expect over in Villains Land, and that’s very intentional. While rumors continue to swirl about the land’s fate, the truth is that Disney is still in early development for the land. They have a huge legacy to live up to, especially when it comes to the Disney theme parks and villains brand combined. We have no doubt that Disney is trying to deliver the best of the best on all of their upcoming projects, especially the Villains Land. Villains Land location It’s no secret that expectations from Disney fans are high, and Josh D’Amaro, Disney’s current Experiences Chairman and upcoming CEO, has said this land will be “pushing creative boundaries” on “an incredibly twisted grand scale.” D’Amaro or Iger (or whoever is calling the theme park shots right now) is reportedly pushing the team to think bigger, which has led to the rumors and basis of the “scraped” rumors. Supposedly, the initial plans for the lands are being reconsidered for bigger ideas. Len Testa, TouringPlans president and an important voice in the Disney fan community, posted on the WDWMagic Forums. Here is Testa’s full message: Screenshot from WDWMagic This is no cause for concern! This is pretty standard for Disney projects, and we would argue that this is watching creative genius at its finest. If you’re still not sure, look at previous projects. In the past, Disney started sharing a lot of their “Blue Sky Ideas,” which were potential projects in the works, to get feedback from fans. At one point, Disney considered replacing DinoLand with Moana or even Zootopia attractions. We know now that this area is becoming a Tropical Americas-themed land that will include attractions inspired by Encanto and Indiana Jones. ©D23 It’s expected that Disney will change their plans along the way to truly raise the bar and overachieve compared to our expectations. This is Disney after all! They have created the bar, so they will continue to raise it high. While the concept of Villains Land ideas getting scrapped might sound concerning, it really shouldn’t be. ©bioreconstruct This is likely happening throughout all of Disney’s projects right now. From Pueblo Esperanza and Monstropolis in Disney World to Avengers Campus and the upcoming Coco attraction in Disneyland, there are lots of changes going on within these projects that we won’t even know about. This is how good ideas get even better when it comes to creatives dreaming up what might feel impossible. ©Disney Concept art will change, big ideas will shift. That’s to be expected during times like these! We would say that you should expect a few more “scraped” ideas before any of these new lands open throughout the theme parks. At the time of writing, Disney hasn’t shared an opening timeline for Villains Land, and it might be so that they can make it even bigger and more villainous. 23. We’ve been going to Disney World for YEARS, so trust us, when we say it’s busy in Disney World, we mean it. We’ve seen three hour waits for attractions we normally don’t wait 20 minutes for, and lines for snacks that make us question if we’re even that hungry. Toy Story Land We’re used to families taking long weekends to head to Disney World, and when a holiday is around the corner, we see the crowds get busier and busier. For Presidents’ Day, Monday, February 16th, 2026, we headed to our beloved Hollywood Studios to see how busy it was, and well, let’s just say it surprised us! For 2026, we really didn’t think the crowds were bad at all! Was the park empty where we could do cartwheels through the streets (please don’t do this even when it’s not busy)? No, but we didn’t feel walls of people when walking around. We didn’t have to wait at all to scan into the park… Grab your park ticket and let’s go! …and could easily see where we were going once we walked in. Not too bad! We had to stop by and check on construction for Monstropolis, the new Monsters, Inc. land that took over Muppets Courtyard, and while there was a bit more of a bottleneck because of the walls, people were able to get by pretty easily. Bye bye Muppets Into Galaxy’s Edge, lines didn’t look too bad either! What’s happening?!? Galaxy’s Edge Obviously, we had to say hi to our favorite Pixar friends and head to Toy Story Land, where it felt busier (but we’ll swear up and down Toy Story Land always feels busier), but everything seemed to be moving and grooving. Who wants to ride Slinky Dog Dash? Toy Story Mania was closed for a bit, which caused a big crowd of people trying to figure out where to go next… Toy Story Mania crowds …and once we left Toy Story Land, we stopped by Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, which was fully into the extended queues. It’s about a 65 minute wait here! For a true test, we have to check the wait times. 130 minutes for Tower of Terror feels a little wild, but 120 for Slinky Dog Dash is spot on. It’s a gloomy day, but rides were still able to operate without closing due to lightning. 90 minutes for Rise of the Resistance isn’t too bad either. ©Disney Don’t ask us why Alien Swirling Sauces always has a super high wait time (actually, it’s probably because it’s a low capacity ride and how long it takes to load, so actually, you can ask us), but Mickey and Minnie’s was around 65 minutes, along with 35 minutes for Star Tours. ©Disney It’s pretty strange for the parks to not be too busy when there’s a random day off from school and work, but we’ll take it! Make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog, where we’re in the parks every day, sharing everything you need to know to have the best vacation yet. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. It can be daunting to make sure to pack the perfect amount for Disney World. You want to be prepared, but you also don’t want to overpack, which could lead to you being weighed down. That’s why we’re here to share the tried and true items that we have tested in the parks so we know what’s well worth your time and money! Flat Plug Power Strip Flat Plug Power Strip One thing about Disney in 2026? It takes a lot of power to maximize your day. Charging your cell phones, cameras, MagicBands, portable chargers, and more takes a lot of outlets, which not every hotel room has. Over the last few years, newer rooms and refurbished options do tend to have more outlets, but take our advice. Save those evening fights about “No, I need to charge MY iPad first,” and bring this power strip. It will be so worth it! Shop on Amazon BAGAIL 8 Set Packing Cubes ©Amazon When it comes to Disney World outfits, we like to have a few options! The rain, sweat, and other factors of being in a theme park might require an unexpected outfit change, so we like to have extra options. To help us prevent overpacking and to keep everything organized, we use these packing cubes! Packing with packing cubes has actually changed our travel game. Plus it helps our bags zip up more easily than ever before. Shop on Amazon Magnetic Portable Charger Anker 621 Magnetic Portable Charger We’ve already touched on what it takes to truly maximize your Disney World trip, and that is your phone! Not everybody loves this aspect of the parks, but it is a fact that you basically need your phone these days. You check wait times, mobile order your food, skip the lines, find show times, save your park tickets, and more, all on the technology right in your hand. This Anker charger helps keep our phones ready all day long, and there’s no annoying cord attached! It’s super convenient and holds on really well, even on roller coasters. (Yes, we tested that). Shop on Amazon JISULIFE Portable Neck Fan JISULIFE Portable Neck Fan A major factor of your Disney World trip is, unfortuntely, going to be the heat! Especially if you go from May until September, it’s going to be H-A-W-T, hot! This portable neck fan has changed the game when it comes to keeping us cool. This fan has 5 different speeds, and you can wear it around your neck all day long. It keeps you cool while being hands-free, so you won’t need to worry when you have to pick up the kids, carry the bags, or handle the Lightning Lanes, all while staying cool. Shop on Amazon Frogg Togg Ponchos Frogg Toggs Poncho The heat and sunshine can be tough on your park days, but those unexpected rainstorms can really throw a wrench in your day! This ultralight poncho has made us feel like we can face even the wettest days head-on. This poncho keeps us (and our backpacks) incredibly dry. It also doesn’t make us feel steamed or overstimulated, even when those rain showers are warm. It also dries super quickly and goes back into a carrying case, so we can toss it right into our bags without damaging our other items after the rain is over. Shop on Amazon ODODOS Daily Sling Bag ODODOS Daily Sling Bag There are a lot of park bags, but if you’re traveling light, we couldn’t recommend the ODODOS Sling Bag more! This lightweight bag has an adjustable strap so you can move it as needed throughout the day. This bag has two exterior pockets and an open front pocket that can fit a bottle of water easily. The large back pocket can fit a surprising amount, like a wallet, cell phone, portable charger, mini sunscreen, small snacks, and more. If you’re in the parks solo, this is a great bag! Shop on Amazon Stanley IceFlow Stanley IceFlow A water bottle can make your Disney trip SO MUCH BETTER! If you aren’t drinking multiple bottles of water a day, there’s a world where you could get sick or dehydrated during your park day. We have tested tons of water bottles, and this was easily our number one. It kept our water cold for hours, has a carrying handle, and is easy to sip on even while you’re on the go. Shop on Amazon TABITORA Portable Hanging Shelves Portable Shelves If you are someone who likes to unpack on your vacation, it’s easier than ever with this portable hanging shelf! This packing shelf has 3 shelves, two small liners, and a shoe pocket that you can compress down and clip together to use as a packing cube. Once you get to your destination, you unclip it and use the included hangers to hang it up on a doorway or in a closet, and BOOM! You’re unpacked in seconds. This is great for anyone who likes to see everything they packed all at one time, without completely unpacking and then repacking. Shop on Amazon BAGSMART Travel Toiletry Bag BAGSMART Travel Toiletry Bag Every trip needs a toiletry bag! The other side compartment folds out flat with elastic straps for brushes and products. We are BIG fans of this one! Shop on Amazon Touchland Disney Hand Sanitizer Touchland and Disney Special Edition Hand Sanitizer + Mist Case While we love the Disney theme parks, we will admit there are moments when we feel a little dirty and grimy. Dole Whips melt on our hands, kiddos play in the dirt, and thousands of people have touched the same railing that we’re touching. That’s why we always keep handsanitizer on us. Our Touchland Hand Sanitizer is easily sprayed on our hands and doesn’t spill like some other options we’ve tried. Plus, you can also grab this Mickey carrying case that you can attach right onto your bag, for easy access. Shop on Amazon HOKA Rincon 4 HOKA Rincon 4 Women’s Shoes Trust us when we say bad shoes can ruin your theme park day! We have tested hundreds of shoes, and the HOKA brand has impressed us every time. These shoes offer incredible support and cushion to get you through those several-mile days. These are also designed for longevity, so they will last well before and well after your vacation. Shop on Amazon Handy Laundry Hamper ©Amazon This might be our only slightly extra thing on this list, but bringing a pop-up hamper on our trips changed our lives. After a long park day, you’re going to slightly limp back to your room, frankly, a little crusty from dried sweat. You’re going to feel great about the day you’ve had, but you are ready to shed those clothes and hop in the shower ASAP! In the past, we would let those nights turn into a mess until we had to scoop it all up and shove it in a bag to try and make it out by 11 AM. Now, we toss our dirty clothes straight into this pop-up hamper to keep our hotel room clean all week long. When we drive, we toss this hamper right into our car and hit the road! When we fly, we dump this straight into our luggage, zip it, and have 0 worries that something got left under the bed. Shop on Amazon 16 Pack Travel Bottles Set ©Amazon Disney offers some amazing shampoo, conditioner, and soap, but we will admit that it’s hard to change from our preferred brands. That’s why we bring our own products from home! In the past, we would just keep buying mini refillable options, but to save money, we’ve started using this 16-bottle travel set. This set comes with 4 travel bottles, 4 travel jars, 2 spray bottles, 2 spoons, 1 funnel, 1 cleaning brush, and 1 label pack. Plus, they’re TSA-approved, so you won’t have to worry before hopping on a flight. Shop on Amazon Bento Box Adult Lunch Box ©Amazon Do you have group picky eaters? Are you trying to save some money? You need to bring your own snacks to the parks. Disney has tons of options, but they might not have the brands, prices, or nutritional options that you require when eating. This bento box is a great way to bring several snacks at once while keeping them organized. It has four locking mechanisms and comes with utensils for easy dining. Shop on Amazon The Perfect Park T-Shirt ©DFB Store Finally, what’s a good Disney trip without the classic theme park tee?
