  1. There are tons of Disney World secrets that go unnoticed each day, and we’re lifting the curtain on a BIG one. Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway We LOVE to share those coveted Disney World secrets. You can tell these secrets to family and friends while you’re on vacation and impress them with your knowledge, all while using this knowledge to have the best trip ever. We’re sure most of you have no idea about this next secret, but it’s mostly because no one really pays attention to it — there’s a HIDDEN place to mail things in Disney’s Hollywood Studios! Now, we know you might not be thinking about mailing things while you’re on vacation, but if you’ve ever wanted to mail some postcards and don’t want to leave the Disney bubble to do it, there’s a way you can drop off your mail in Hollywood Studios! Yes, there are also the famous mailboxes you can find around Main Street, U.S.A., in Magic Kingdom, but those are a little more well-known than what we’re about to show off. Main Street U.S.A. Mailbox The Hollywood Studios mail slot is located at the front of the park, and it can be kinda tough to see. It blends in with the light blue paint all around, making it less than obvious. To start your search, head over to Guest Relations — located to the left, almost immediately after tapping your MagicBand/ticket into the park. Heading towards guest relations Instead of heading into the Guest Relations building, head further back towards First Aid. This is where you’ll also find various payphones available for use — and yes, they still work! Check out all the payphones! Immediately to the left of the line of payphones, you can find the mail slot! This just ain’t for show — it’s a practical mailbox! The mail is actually picked up here, although it may take a little bit longer to get to its destination than it would if you dropped it off at a normal mailbox. Here it is! We think this is such a fun secret! It’s good to know that if you don’t want to wait to send someone (or yourself!) a postcard from the parks, or if you have something important that needs to be sent off. It’s comforting to know that you don’t need to leave the Disney bubble to do it. Looking back towards the rest of the park, it’ll be on your right Looking for more Hollywood Studios news? 4. One of our favorite things to do in Disneyland is go to Anaheim Ducks Day, a special event that celebrates the Anaheim Ducks Hockey Club. It’s Anaheim Ducks Day! This special event only happens once each year, and this year, it’s happening TODAY. Anaheim Ducks Day brings special photo ops, exclusive merchandise, a chance to meet some of the players, and special snacks! Well, we are AT Disney California Adventure RIGHT NOW, experiencing all that this year’s Anaheim Ducks Day has to offer. Let’s go, Ducks! We started our morning by heading straight to Disney California Adventure. We had no idea what we were in for, but there were a lot of people heading that way, too. We had to wait quite a while just to park our car! Let’s just say there are a lot of Anaheim Ducks fans in the city! Y’all. It took us nearly TWO HOURS to get into the park. But we finally made it! We are here! The park was HOPPING by the time we got inside. There are Ducks fans EVERYWHERE. And they’re dedicated, many wearing hockey jerseys, although it’s like 80+ degrees outside. DEDICATION, y’all. Everywhere you go, you’re going to hear “Quack Quack Quack” chants. Ducks fans everywhere We were excited to see Pixar Pier dressed up for the day. Pixar Pier When we arrived, we saw a list of locations and times of some special activities happening in the park for the day. The Anaheim Ducks mascot, Wild Wing, was also meeting fans, plus if you got to the park early enough, you could get an official Ducks Day Fan Photo wristband in the Hollywood Backlot area, which is how you can get photos with the players. Animation Academy is also getting in on the duck action…if you stop by, you’ll learn how to draw some of your favorite Disney ducks. ALL kinds of stuff going on. We also saw player jerseys on display. Player jerseys We also checked out some Anaheim Ducks merchandise in the Hyperion Theater Courtyard. Check out that sweet Spirit jersey! Merch! We made our way over to the player rally, and there were already CROWDS of people waiting for that. Look at all these Ducks fans! LOTS of Ducks fans Of course, there are exclusive snacks, including the Quacktail Cooler from Hollywood Lounge made with Vodka and orange juice slushy with beer foam topping. @disneyeats on Instagram You can grab the Chicken-fried Steak Burrito at Studio Catering Co. made with Sautéed vegetables, egg, and country gravy with potato bites. @disneyeats on Instagram Finally, you can grab the Ducks Day Brownie Cheesecake at Schmoozies. It’s a a Cookies and cream cheesecake with a brownie base covered with a dark chocolate shell. We tried to get the brownie, y’all. We TRIED, but that baby sold out FAST. We take our hockey seriously here in Southern California. And our brownies, too, apparently. @disneyeats on Instagram We’ve really enjoyed celebrating the Anaheim Ducks over on the West Coast today with so many other Ducks fans. 7. SO much is happening right now in Disney World that it’s easy to lose track of all the construction projects. Three of Disney World’s four parks are getting new lands and expansions, while Disney World hotels are busy getting updated lobbies, rooms, and more. ©Disney So if you’ve forgotten that Disney World is also building a brand new hotel, it’s understandable. However, we didn’t forget, and we’ve been keeping an eye out for updates. Well, now, thanks to some new photos, we can see all the progress that’s been made on this new hotel, Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge. Lakeshore Lodge will be a new Disney Vacation Club property that is located at what used to be Disney’s River Country water park near Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground. The hotel is “inspired by the majesty of nature and its enduring influence on Disney artists.” ©Disney New photos from @bioreconstruct show just how much progress has been made on the hotel. Here’s an aerial overview of the entire property. As you can say, this site is pretty HUGE. Disney has not yet revealed how many rooms the hotel might have, but it looks like it will be a lot. ©@bioreconstruct Here’s a closer view of the hotel’s main building. It’s actually starting to look a lot like the concept art Disney has released of the hotel. ©@bioreconstruct The hotel will also feature some villas that are located on the edge of the forest surrounding the hotel. These little individual villas have an A-frame structure. These structures’ exteriors look close to completion. ©@bioreconstruct We’ve also seen a lot of progress on the hotel’s porte-cochere (aka the entrance). Again, we’re seeing a lot of elements we originally saw in the hotel’s concept art. ©@bioreconstruct The hotel will also have a boat dock, which we assume will have boats that go to and from Magic Kingdom. It looks like the main structure of the dock is also close to completion. ©@bioreconstruct A lazy river feature will also wind its way through the hotel property. We now have a photo of that, as well as the pool that’s going in beside it. ©@bioreconstruct Finally, here’s a closer look at the pool that will be going in at the resort. ©@bioreconstruct There’s still a lot of work to be done, and Lakeshore Lodge isn’t expected to open until 2027, but we’ll keep an eye on construction progress and keep you updated, so stay tuned to DFB for more. 11. We’ve seen a LOT of fantastic Disney souvenirs in the past, especially since we’re in the parks and checking online nearly every single day, but it’s not often we find a souvenir that combines a nostalgic aspect of our childhoods WITH Disney! Country Bear Jamboree Last year, we spotted something super special in Disneyland that we couldn’t believe existed — Lincoln Logs that were inspired by Country Bear Jamboree! We thought it couldn’t get any better, but now it has. That same set is now available online! DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. The Best Lincoln Logs Set Out There! ©Disney If you’ve been wanting to introduce your kids to toys you used to play with as a kid, Lincoln Logs are a great way to go. This set, being Disney themed, is only an added bonus, and we’re obsessed. The Country Bear Jamboree Lincoln Logs Building Set is online right now, and if you ask us, it’ll sell out fast. We spotted it in Disneyland last year! The set includes 91 pieces and comes with Big Al, Henry, and Trixie exclusive figures! Yes, in their original costumes too, so while we love Country Bear Musical Jamboree, if you’re missing the original, this will be perfect. The best part? While you can build the Country Bear Jamboree, there are also TWO additional builds you can create with the same pieces. We also love that it comes in a reusable metal box, so when you’re done, you can just put all the pieces back in to carry them around with you. Grab it online! Country Bear Jamboree has been gone from Disneyland since 2001, when it was replaced with The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (but if you look closely while on the attraction, you can still find Melvin, Buff, and Max on the wall!), and it was updated in Disney World in 2024. Don’t worry, Melvin, Buff, and Max are still in Disney World! We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all the latest Disney merchandise news, so be sure to stay tuned to DFB! View the full article
  12. Disney Adventure World opens March 29th, and we’re already counting down the days. The Disneyland Paris park will have so many new rides – including a new Tangled ride! ©Disney Raiponce Tangled Spin will open with the park on March 29th, and we can’t wait! Disney just released a sneak peek that left us even more excited. Raiponce Tangled Spin is a Teacups-style spinning ride. You’ll hop into Rapunzel and Flynn’s boat and spin under the floating lanterns! It’s so pretty. ©Disney The boat itself is gorgeous! It has the cutest braid design, plus pink and purple painted flowers, all done by Rapunzel herself. There’s a small lamp on the boat, and combined with all of the lanterns overhead, this ride will be even more fun at night. ©Disney There are also some beautiful paintings by Rapunzel on the ceiling! We can see Flynn and Rapunzel riding the ride, surrounded by pink and purple flowers, butterflies, and stars. ©Disney But there’s also Maximus and Pascal snacking on apples! We love the little apple constellation in the sky next to them. These lanterns are so pretty. There are both yellow and purple lanterns. Some have the classic sun design, while others have cute floral patterns! ©Disney There’s also a new short video from Disney that shows Rapunzel and Flynn riding the ride! You can spin using the center table like at the Teacups, but this console is a pretty gold color with a sun design! This video is the first time we’ve seen the outside of the ride, and it looks so pretty! It shows Rapunzel and Flynn walking from The Regal View Restaurant and Lounge, the park’s princess character dining, to Raiponce Tangled Spin. There are so many soft, twinkling lights in this area! ©Disney We’re so excited to go to Disney Adventure World to ride Raiponce Tangled Spin. 13. When it comes to good treats, you need look no further than the France Pavilion in the World Showcase at EPCOT. We’re talking delicious ice cream treats, yummy sweet and savory crêpes, and ice cream martinis that will blow your mind. A chocolate bear! France is also where you’ll find Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie, which also has loads of sweet and savory treats. Well, a new sweet treat just arrived there, and we think you’re going to like it BEAR-y much! (Yes, we’re feeling punny.) Introducing the Bear Shaped Chocolate for $6.34. This is a marshmallow pop all wrapped up in a chocolate bear. But unlike many of the chocolate marshmallow wands you get in Disney World, the chocolate here is a beautifully bitter and sweet dark chocolate. That makes this treat feel even more decadent. But, also, just look at it…how could you resist this little cutie? He’s giving Lindt bear vibes, right? He’s adorable Although this is a simple treat, like we said, that dark chocolate elevates it because it’s not super sugary. You get some light sweetness from the marshmallow, which is soft and squishy, like marshmallow should be. We also think that if you let him melt just a little bit in the sun, it makes it even better. This is a fun treat that you might want to get just for the cute photos, but if you just want some good chocolate with a hint of marshmallow, it will satisfy that urge, too. Marshmallow inside We’ll continue to keep an eye out for new treats in Disney World, so stay tuned to DFB for more. WE KNOW – there are SO many great snacks at Disney World! 14. If you’ve been to Orlando International Airport (MCO) recently, you may have noticed a few issues. Orlando International Airport Maybe it was harder than you expected to find a parking spot, you noticed how much more advanced Terminal C is in comparison to Terminals A and B, or you’re noticing just how dated some of the technology and decor is. Some of that is about to change, though, thanks to the upgrades and plans MCO has over the next few years. It looks like it’ll all go through, too, because $550 million has just been approved to fund projects for the next three years. The Orlando Business Journal has reported that the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA) board has unanimously approved $550 million to be used to fund Orlando Airport’s various projects over the next three years. However, the “$550 million line of credit is interim funding until the board votes to issue a long-term bond.” MCO Airport Security Before it can officially be approved for use, the budget will now go before Orlando’s City Council. What exactly is this money to be used for, though? According to documents, just a few of the projects this budget would work on would be: Designing and building Terminal C’s planned aircraft taxiway expansions Improving terminal infrastructure (examples include ticket counters, curbside check-in areas, baggage handling systems, etc.) Expanding and improving food options available around the airport Building elevated covered walkways to connect parking garages and terminals Building new facilities and/or expanding existing ones for supporting back-of-house operations (such as”disposing airline waste” and “maintaining and repairing vehicles”) Developing airport properties, such as building a new customer pick-up area Orlando International Airport Don’t forget that a 10-year plan to completely transform both Orlando International Airport and the Orlando Executive Airport is currently in effect. That plan was approved in the fall of 2025 and is a $5.9 billion capital improvement plan. Currently, Orlando Airport is working on adding 8,000 more parking spaces across Terminals A and C, and the parking guidance system inside the garages is set to be complete by 2027. 15. I’ll be honest with you — I love the open ocean and sailing, but when it comes to how I like to vacation with Disney? I’m choosing the theme parks all day, every day. With that said, one upcoming offering has me rethinking EVERYTHING. ©Disney Cruise Line I’m a theme park guy. I like rides, immersive lands, and all the explorable space each park has to offer. When sitting down to decide if I’d rather do a lengthy Disney World trip versus a Disney Cruise, the decision was typically a no-brainer. But then Disney went ahead and dropped details about exciting Marvel experiences coming to the brand-new Disney Adventure cruise ship, and suddenly…I get it. The Disney Adventure isn’t just a cruise. It’s offering something totally unique. Something that’s basically a floating Marvel land. Now you’re speaking my language. Let’s talk about the one thing that completely changed my mind. Set to make its maiden voyage out of Singapore on March 10th, 2026, the Disney Adventure will be the first Disney Cruise Line ship to sail from Singapore’s Marina Bay Cruise Centre and throughout Southeast Asia. The ship won’t stop at ports of call, so it’ll need a ton of entertainment on board — which is where its seven themed areas come into play. Akin to lands at a theme park, the themed areas will be inspired by The Jungle Book, Moana, The Little Mermaid, Lilo & Stitch, Finding Nemo, Luca, Tangled, Cinderella, Frozen, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, The Princess and the Frog, Toy Story, and — of course — the Marvel Cinematic Universe! ©Disney Marvel Landing will be located on one of the outside decks of the ship, and will feature fan-favorite Marvel heroes and different attractions that we’ve never seen at sea. There are ACTUAL rides on this ship! ©Disney || Marvel Landing concept art for the Disney Adventure The “land” will have THREE rides, and I’m excited for each one! Groot Galaxy Spin is a family-friendly spinning ride that hoists riders in the air while energized by the music from the Guardians of the Galaxy films! Disney Imagineers recently gave us a peek at the new ride, and it looks like so much fun! @waltdisneyimagineering on Instagram Pym Quantum Racers is a speedy go-kart attraction inspired by Ant-Man and The Wasp and their use of Pym Particles. ©DisneyCruiseLine And Ironcycle Test Run — well — this is the big one. Ironcycle Test Run will be the first-ever roller coaster aboard a Disney Cruise Line ship and the longest coaster at sea at 820 feet in length! It’ll suspend up to 30 feet above the upper deck of the ship as riders fly by on Tony Stark’s Ironcycle prototype. ©DisneyCruiseLine A Marvel-themed roller coaster at sea — and the largest coaster at that — is a MUST-TRY experience. Flying over a massive cruise ship and the ocean? That’s the kind of over-the-top Disney ambition that made theme park fans fall in love with Disney in the first place. ©Disney What really makes the Disney Adventure cruise ship stand out is how the Marvel experiences fit into a larger vision. Not only do I get to embrace Marvel at sea, but I can also opt for Pixar and other Disney-themed offerings. No longer is cruising about the destination. The Disney Adventure is the destination. ©Disney Do you plan on sailing with this floating theme park? 17. There are a lot of changes coming to Walt Disney World in 2026, ranging from massive construction projects to refurbished attractions to permanent closures. However, changes aren’t isolated simply to rides. Dip it! Some big changes are coming to Walt Disney World restaurants as well, all of which will change how many guests book their dining reservations and plan where to eat on their next visit to the “Most Magical Place on Earth.” Jessie’s Roundup is coming to the Magic Kingdom The Diamond Horseshoe — one of the Magic Kingdom’s oldest and longest neglected eateries — is getting new life with a Toy Story-themed Jessie’s Roundup show during the Cool Kids Summer promotion. According to Disney, Jessie’s Roundup will be led by “everyone’s favorite yodelin’ cowgirl” Jessie, who will help guests “craft, dance and yodel their day away” with Woody and friends in a “high-spirited Western revue!” The Diamond Horseshoe The show will make the first live entertainment in the Diamond Horseshoe in over two decades. From the Magic Kingdom’s opening in 1971 through 2004, the restaurant — which has alternated between table service and quick service throughout its history — has hosted several incarnations of the Diamond Horseshoe Revue… and Goofy’s Country Dancin’ Jamboree. One of those things is certainly not like the other. Animal Kingdom Changes The permanent closure of DinoLand U.S.A. in Animal Kingdom has led to a chain reaction of food changes at the theme park. Buffalo Chicken Chips These include: The Harambe Market has reopened after a brief refurbishment, but its menu has been mostly replaced with foods including burgers and chicken tenders that were previously available at Restaurantosaurus. Buffalo Chicken Chips are now available at Eight Spoon Cafe, but they’re different from the former DinoLand version. Hand-scooped ice cream and various related concoctions are now available at Terra Treats. Cookie Dough Brownie Ice Cream Sandwich Whether you’re making dining reservations, planning where to eat in the Magic Kingdom, or wondering where to find your favorite snacks in Animal Kingdom, you’ll need to keep these changes in mind during your next visit to Disney World. 18. We’re about to jump into spring in Disney World, which means summer is right around the corner. Now, summer means hurricane season, which generally lasts from June through the end of November. Sally in the Haunted Mansion Disneyland Now, we’ve seen our share of hurricanes in Disney World (and we’ve seen hurricanes that have closed the parks several times). As you may know, every year brings a new round of names for hurricanes, and this year’s list includes a lot of familiar names, at least for Disney fans. So let’s take a look at this year’s list of hurricanes, which we have thanks to the National Hurricane Center.. We’re going to start with Arthur, which automatically makes us think of The Sword in the Stone. Of course, this movie is about the boy who eventually becomes King Arthur. Also, sidenote: this movie is HORRIBLY underrated. ©Disney The next hurricane will be named Bertha. Now, that name will sound familiar to Jungle Cruise fans, because one of the Jungle Cruise boats is named Big Bertha (although it’s Brr Bertha when the Jungle Cruise becomes the Jingle Cruise for the holidays)! Brr Bertha The following hurricane will be named Cristobal, and the one after that will be Dolly. Now, we immediately thought of Dolly Parton, but Dolly is also the name of a character we first see in Toy Story 3 — she’s one of Bonnie’s dolls! ©Disney Edouard is the next hurricane name, followed by Fay. Yes, Fay immediately reminded us of Morgana Le Fay from The Sorcerer’s Apprentice. But there’s also Morgie le Fay from the Descendants franchise. After that, we’ll have a storm named Gonzalo, followed by one named Hanna. Yes, it’s not spelled the same way, but if you did NOT think of Hannah Montana, are you really a Disney fan? ©Disney The next names on the list are Isaias and Josephine. After that are Kyle and Leah. Leah, of course, is a nod (at least for us) to Princess Leia of Star Wars fame. However, the next hurricane name is also that of a Disney character, Marco, and of course, we’re thinking of Marco from the Disney XD series Star vs. The Forces of Evil. ©Disney The next hurricane hits us in the feels because it’s Nana, which is also the name of the Darlings’ dog in Peter Pan. In fact, there are TWO Peter Pan names in this year’s list (and we’ll get to the second a little bit later). ©Disney Omar might make you scratch your head, wondering where you’ve heard the name from. But if you’ve watched Sofia the First, you’ll know the name from the “Pin the Blame on the Genie” episode of that series. Yes, that’s a deep dive. Paulette is also sort of a deep dive, because that’s the name of one of the Bimbettes who are fawning over Gaston in Beauty and the Beast. ©Disney The next hurricane name is Rene, which reminds us of René Auberjonois, the voice of Louis the Chef in The Little Mermaid. Sally is next on the list, and of course, we automatically think of Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas. However, the tightrope walker seen in a stretching room portrait in the Haunted Mansion is also named Sally (Sally Slater). Sally Slater collectible doll Teddy is also a nod to The Nightmare Before Christmas, as in Vampire Teddy. The next hurricane is Vicky, followed by Wilfred. Now that makes us think of Disney Legend Wilfred Jackson, the man who worked for Walt and figured out how to synchronize animation with music by using a metronome, an innovation that first appeared in Steamboat Willy. He went on to work on dozens of Disney’s classic animated films like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Pinocchio, Dumbo, Saludos Amigos, Melody Time, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, and Lady and the Tramp. ©D23 So those are all the hurricane names we’ll see in 2026, although we don’t really know how far into the names we’ll get. We’re not entirely sure what the 2026 hurricane season will bring, although forecasters are already in the process of trying to figure that out. As always, we’ll keep you updated on the weather in Disney World, including potential hurricanes, so stay tuned to DFB for more. 7 Hurricane Season Tips from a Disney World Expert Who Lives in Florida Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! 19. Disney Springs is home to some of our favorite restaurants and places to shop, and we love that it’s something you can experience for free on your Disney World vacation. Disney Springs Parking at Disney Springs doesn’t cost anything, and you can take a bus or boat from your Disney World hotel any day of the week to experience all the shopping and dining district has to offer at no additional charge (unless you choose to dine at a restaurant or purchase something from a store, that will, of course, cost something!). If we’re being totally honest, though, we’re seeing some trends that might be getting a liiiiittle out of control. So Many Plastic Mini Animals Now, this is the one trend we’re absolutely NOT mad about, but it’s the fact that there are so many little plastic animals in specialty drinks in Disney Springs right now! Love Potion 67 These are beyond adorable, don’t get us wrong, and we love collecting them, but we will admit that they often make a drink a little more expensive than usual, so if you’ve got no interest in them, this trend may bug you a bit. Additionally, they’re currently only available in alcoholic drinks, not mocktails, so unless you’re okay giving your new little friend to someone who’s younger and can’t drink, they’re out of luck. The Crowds While we love that Disney Springs is a free spot to go and hang out during your Disney World vacation (it doesn’t cost anything to park, and you can take free transportation from Disney World hotels), the word has gotten around, and therefore, the crowds are INTENSE — especially if it’s a Friday or Saturday. Disney Springs crowds We’ve known for a while now that weekdays are the least crowded days to visit Disney Springs, but you were still able to walk around and get things done on the weekends without it being too overwhelming. That has all seemed to change now, though, because unless you arrive SUPER early on weekend days, good luck even finding parking (especially with the Lime Garage currently closed for maintenance). Disney Springs can get pretty busy! With that being said, if you know you’ll be traveling on a weekend, we suggest taking transportation from a Disney World hotel if you’re concerned about parking, or be sure to get there well before a dining reservation, or at least an hour before you’d actually like to arrive. This is just to stay on the safe side of things, ensuring you have enough time to arrive and get where you need to go without stress. Speaking of Reservations… Now that we’ve talked about those dining reservations, let’s really dive into what higher crowds often mean for those, shall we? With so many more people heading to Disney Springs, many of them are booking reservations for some of the beloved restaurants in the area, and that means there are fewer available for other guests. That may seem obvious, but when you’ve had a system down for years, or don’t worry about grabbing a reservation at certain spots due to not usually needing one, this could be what really throws you for a loop. Enzo’s Hideaway What does this mean for you? If there’s a restaurant — ANY restaurant in Disney Springs — that you normally don’t worry about getting a reservation for, we suggest playing it safe and grabbing it ASAP before your trip to ensure you’re not stuck high and dry. However, if you do find yourself in a bind, there are plenty of quick-service locations in Disney Springs that don’t require reservations, or you can look for same-day reservations at select locations. Merchandise Overload Lots of merchandise at Disney Springs can’t be found elsewhere in Disney World, and that in itself also causes major crowds. We often say that if you see something in the parks, you can often find it in Disney Springs (especially World of Disney), but the same is NOT true the other way around! World of Disney We’ve often also said that if you’re looking for the largest selection of Disney merchandise in one place, Disney Springs is the way to go, because factually, it’s just got the most shops and covers all different Disney IP, and additional collections in collaboration with other companies. If you’re heading to the shopping and dining district to find something specific, pack your patience and go on a weekday, if you can! 20. Disney World has been seeing LOTS of closures throughout the past few months, mostly to make way for new additions, lands, and more, but if we’re being real, that doesn’t make the closures any less ideal when they’re happening. Rafiki’s Planet Watch This is especially true over in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, where DinoLand U.S.A. just closed for good to make way for the new Tropical Americas expansion, and now, there are TWO more closures happening in this park tomorrow — here’s why you need to be prepared. Starting tomorrow, February 23rd, an entire other section of Animal Kingdom will be closing to make way for a new experience coming this summer for Disney’s Cool KIDS’ SUMMER experience. Train to Rafiki’s Planet Watch Right now, you can take the Wildlife Express train over to Rafiki’s Planet Watch to experience the numerous different experiences there, such as the Affection Section (where you can pet the animals), the Animation Experience (draw your favorite Disney characters!), and even windows to look into Disney’s vet section, where sometimes you’re lucky enough to see the team working on an animal right there in front of you. Conservation Station However, starting tomorrow, this ENTIRE area will be closed to make way for the new “Bluey” experience coming this summer. Cool KIDS’ SUMMER is expected to begin on May 26th, 2026, which is when we’re expecting this to be back open for guests. However, it’s likely that it’ll close AGAIN at the end of the experience on September 8th to go back to normal. With so many closures in this park already, losing all of these attractions for about three months is NOT great. Rafiki’s Planet Watch We’ll admit — there are lots of people who don’t even know that Rafiki’s Planet Watch and the Wildlife Express to get over there even exist (and they’re really missing out!), but for those who do, they’ll know that there’s a whole other section closed, meaning there’s even fewer attractions to visit in this already construction-ridden park. Again, we know that this is so something new and thrilling can be on the way, but with so many other projects ongoing, it’s not great timing. 21. We’ve got some bad news for those traveling soon, more specifically, if you use Global Entry or TSA PreCheck. TSA lines at MCO These services are additional costs that allow travelers to skip longer security lines, as their information and background checks have already been stored in the system, to move them through security more quickly. This is often vital for many people’s travel plans, as travelers with these additions often don’t allow as much time to get through security before their flight, or rely on the additional time to grab something to eat or relax. If you’re someone who uses these services, we’ve got bad news — as of 6 AM this morning, Sunday, February 22nd, they’ve been suspended due to the government shutdown. ABC has just reported that, due to the Department of Homeland Security shutdown/lapse of funding, Global Entry and TSA PreCheck are both being suspended for the time being. In a statement, DHS Secretary Kristi Noem said, “TSA and CBP are prioritizing the general traveling population at our airports and ports of entry and suspending courtesy and special privilege escorts.” MCO Airport Any DHS personnel usually assigned to these programs will be moved to work with the general public getting through security, for the time being. This will likely result in longer lines overall at airports, even with the additional personnel, and will likely frustrate many travelers, not just those who usually use the services. This is an interesting move, many feel, as during the last shutdown, these programs were not suspended. TSA PreCheck Travelers are also concerned about the impending winter storm coming to areas of the East Coast, where 5,000 flights have already been canceled. Additionally, the Federal Emergency Management Agency will also halt “all non-disaster related response to prioritize disasters,” which also has travelers concerned. PreCheck signage The move is being criticized by many, including U.S Travel, a non-profit organization that represents the nation’s travel industry. In a statement, they mentioned being “disappointed” with the choice, continuing on to say, “Travelers should be prioritized, not leveraged. Travel is the gateway to the American economy, and Americans should not have their mobility, security, or travel experience diminished because elected leaders fail to resolve their differences.” More Recent Travel News! 25. International Disney visitors, particularly those located in Madrid, Spain, or who can get there easily, are going to have a MUCH easier time getting to Disney World come this summer! Orlando International Airport Flying to Orlando International Airport is easy for some travelers if airlines supply nonstop flights in between the airports, but those who need connections often have a more difficult travel day ahead of them. That’s especially true for international Disney guests, as crossing overseas can get extra frustrating if you can’t fly directly from your home airport into Orlando. That’s why we’re thrilled that, starting this summer, this Spanish airline will have weekly nonstop flights to Orlando! According to the Orlando Business Journal, Spanish airline Iberia plans to offer weekly flights to MCO Airport beginning March 19th as part of the beginning of the summer service. A total of 51,856 seats will be available, and while the nonstop flight takes about 8.5 hours, prices range from $586 to more than $1,000. ©MWAA The airline is offering 19% more seats this year than it did last year, and it will offer around 1.28 million seats to passengers looking to travel from Madrid to New York, Dallas, Chicago, Washington, and Toronto, among others. Currently, the airline reaches over 140 cities across Europe, the Americas, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. Orlando International Airport It helps that travel from international visitors has been up at MCO Airport. In December 2025 alone, 800,000 international guests traveled through the airport, which was a 4% increase compared to the year prior. In 2025 as a whole, about 8.2 million passengers who traveled through MCO Airport were international visitors, which was an 8% increase. It also marked an all-time high for the airport.
