Ah! According to the Orange County Register, New changes are coming to Disneyland’s park hopping system, but we think you’re going to love it. Disneyland Right now, there is an 11 AM rule, but erase that time from your head because you’re going to have more freedom than before. Later this year, Disneyland will eliminate the 11 AM rule. Before this change, guests could not park hop to the other park before 11 AM. The guest had to begin their day in the park with their reservation and then wait until 11 to switch over. Disney California Adventure Now, you can move between Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure without having to worry about the time. Woohoo! We’re not sure when this will start, but it is expected to be later this year. Disney also mentioned that park reservations will be staying for now. Disneyland Main Entrance Disney also said that Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! will be staying open until 2027. It was originally meant to close in early 2026, but will now be open for all of 2026. This ride is closing in Disney California Adventure to make way for the Avatar expansion. It is not expected that the Avatar project will be delayed, but it should continue as planned. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! The new Avatar expansion won’t be exactly like its counterpart in Disney World’s Animal Kingdom. Disney says it will “draw inspiration from Avatar: The Way of Water and upcoming Avatar films to bring Pandora to life in a brand-new way.” The attraction will also send guests on an “adventure of a lifetime in search of majestic natural wonders that can only be found on Pandora and the beauty — and danger — that comes along the way.” ©Disney Make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more of the most up-to-date Disney news you need before your next trip. Walt Disney World is well known for its litany of dining options, with restaurant’s across the property’s parks and hotel offering options for every pallet and budget… including those looking for a comfort food traditional diner-style meal without breaking the bank. AMAZING Located at the Walt Disney World Dolphin hotel, The Fountain captures the vibes of a classic American diner, complete with vinyl stools, glittering tables, a long countertop, and even a neon sign. The menu also offers an array of salads, and entree options including the classic Reuben Sandwich, a foot log hot dog, a fried chicken sandwich, a flounder sandwich, a burnt ends sanwhich, and grilled cheese served with tomato soup. Burnt Ends & Pimento Sandwich However, the diner’s star attraction is the Fountain Smash Burger. This $21 delight is a filling meal in and of itself, featuring a certified Angus Beef patty (or a meat-free Beyond Burger) covered in griddled onions, crispy lettuce, tomatoes, and American Cheese, all served on a locally baked bun. Fountain Smash Burger Last time we had the burger, we loved it! The cheese was amazingly melted, the bun was nice and soft, the patty tasted hand-pressed and fresh, and the veggies were delicious. Look at that burger… droooool Like any good diner, The Fountain offers a full menu of delicious sweets to finish off your meal, including a wide range of milkshakes all under $20. These aren’t just chocolate/vanilla/strawberry either. Milkshakes! There’s the Blueberry Cheesecake (featuring cheesecake ice cream, blueberry jam, graham cracker crumble, whipped topping, fresh blueberries, and a cheesecake wedge), The King (peanut butter ice cream, toasted marshmallow fluff, chocolate whipped topping, banana, and a Reese’s Cup), Key Lime Pie (key lime ice cream, lime curd, graham cracker crumble, a slice of key lime pie, whipped topping, and candied lime), and our personal favorite, Banana Pudding (banana ice cream, vanilla pudding, whipped topping, Nilla Wafers, and a fresh banana). Banana Pudding Milkshake Now, all that being said, if you find yourself tempted by The Fountain, there are a few things to know. The restaurant does not participate in any of the Disney Dining Plan options, and does not accept MagicBands, Disney Gift Cards, or any other Disney stored value cards for payment. Also, keep in mind that there’s a fee to park at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel. But if you are staying at these hotels, this is seriously the perfect spot to grab a quick and delicious bite to eat that won’t break the bank!! This year’s EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival is going to be AMAZING. We’re really excited to see the festival begin, which happens on March 4th (and it runs through June 1st). The best thing about this festival is the FOOD, and now that we’ve got ALL the food booth menus and prices, we’re already making our list of everything we’re going to try. Spread at the 2025 EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival However, while we were making our list, we noticed something very peculiar about two of the food booths: their dates. So let’s talk about why this seems…well…odd. So when we were looking at the foodie guide that Disney released, we noticed that one food booth, Farmer’s Feast, had the following in parentheses after its name: “Available March 4 to May 10.” The festival runs until June 1st, so it seems like this booth is only available for part of the festival. Farmers Feast 2025 Now, we’re used to this booth having two separate menus, one for the first half of the festival and then one for the last half. But this year, things seem to be different. The first menu, Early Bloom Menu, is available March 4th through April 5th and will feature the following: Grilled Asparagus with pancetta bacon, spring peas, frisée lettuce, truffle sherry vinaigrette, and soft-poached egg Scallop with spring pea risotto, lemon-beurre blanc, and gremolata Blueberry Crumble Cake with blueberry-lemon zest soft-serve and blueberry compote Scallop with spring pea risotto featuring BEN’S ORIGINAL INTERNATIONAL GRAINS Arborio Rice, lemon-beurre blanc, and Gremolata The second menu, the Springtime menu, is only available April 6th through May 10th, suggesting this booth will close after that. Here’s that menu: Heirloom Tomatoes and Fresh Mozzarella with shallot vinaigrette, sourdough croutons, pesto, micro basil, and balsamic pearls Grilled Beef Strip Loin with tomato risotto, tomato beurre blanc, and basil pesto Peach Cobbler with cinnamon gelato and streusel topping Peach Cobbler A beverage menu will be available through both menus: B Nektar Punk Lemonade: Raspberry lemonade hard cider (New) Playalinda Brewing Company Hibiscus Tangelo Hard Seltzer (New) Hibiscus Lemonade Cocktail: Islamorada Hibiscus Gin and Simply Lemonade Frozen Lemon Tea with Bärenjäger Honey & Bourbon Hibiscus Lemonade Cocktail But that’s not all. The Florida Fresh food booth also has an early closure date. Disney notes that the booth will only be available until May 25th. Florida Fresh in 2025 So what’s going on? Is Disney really going to close these booths early? We’re not entirely sure, but if you want to grab food and drinks from these two food booths, you’ll want to do so before they close. We’ll keep an eye out for more information and keep you updated on the EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival, so stay tuned to DFB for more. Disney World Teases New runDisney Theme for 2027
Disney4me posted a topic in Disney Food/Restaurants
Have you ever wanted to go to Disney World at 2 AM, lace up your sneakers, and run through the parks for 26.2 miles? No? What if I told you you can meet rare characters and receive medals to commemorate the event? ©Disney There are four runDisney weekends a year that let runners race through Disney World and get their miles in before the parks even open, and once a year, there’s the Walt Disney World Marathon. Disney is starting to tease the theme for the next marathon weekend, and we couldn’t be more excited. The animation style in the video looked like the Mickey Mouse cartoon series on Disney+, and the whole marathon weekend logo looks like Donald Duck. Oh yeah, this is going to be FUN. ©Disney We should find out the official themes soon, but Club runDisney will be able to sign up on March 10th, and the general public can register on March 17th. While the marathon weekend theme is usually centered on Mickey and friends, there may also be an additional theme. For 2026, all the characters were paired with storybooks: Mickey and Minnie were in a fantasy book, and Pluto was in a science fiction book, for example. ©runDisney Marathon weekend is also the race weekend for the Dopey Challenge, which gives you an additional medal for completing the 5k, 10k, half-marathon, and marathon all in one weekend. That’s a total of 48.6 miles! ©Disney If you’re looking to participate in one of the events, you don’t need to be an elite runner, but you do have to be fast to sign up. Registration fills up quickly due to the limited spots, and you’ll want to be ready to sign up as soon as it opens. You are more than welcome to walk these events, but keep in mind you need to stick to the indicated mile pace so all guests can finish in time before the parks open to the public. We can’t wait to hear what the theme is going to be, so make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more! 4 GAME CHANGING ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR 2026 RUNDISNEY RACES Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! Yes, we know, we talk about shoes a lot. But that’s because shoes are one of the most important thing you can think about if you’re planning a trip to Disney World. That’s because you’ll be walking MILES every day without even realizing it, and your feet are going to take a beating. One of our favorite shoes! Just how much of a beating your feet take, though, is dependent on your shoes. If you wear the wrong shoes, you’re going to feel it. However, if you wear the right shoes, you’re going to be able to keep walking in Disney World, day after day. Well, we’ve got a pair that are 100% the right shoes, and we’re going to tell you about them. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Get the Hoka Clifton 10 We love a good pair of shoes I’m not exaggerating when I say the Hoka Clifton 10 sneakers saved my feet. I’ve come back from Disney trips barely able to walk in other shoes, but these shoes are like walking around on a plush cloud all day. They’re cushiony, so you never feel the pavement beneath your feet. They’re not so narrow that they squeeze your toes. They’re comfortable pretty much right out of the box. These shoes are great for walking and standing in line These are the shows we wear when we know we’re going to be spending day after day walking miles in Disney World. They’re trustworthy and help us stay confident that we won’t end up with sore feet or blisters. We love our Hokas They also come in a lot of fun colors (although if you’re a basic white or black sneaker fan, those are options, too). We literally couldn’t survive Disney World without these. While much of the focus on Walt Disney World is on massive construction projects and E-Ticket level ride refurbishments, that’s not to say there aren’t a litany of smaller projects also happening at the resort. Big Top Souvenirs Case in point, Disney just announced a large refurbishment project for the Big Top Souvenirs location in Fantasyland. According to Disney, the shop — which closed on February 20th — is expected to “reopen for guests to enjoy later this year.” Big Top Souvenirs The closure of Big Top Souvenirs is running concurrently with the refurbishment of land-mate Pete’s Silly Sideshow, both of which were laid out in construction permits in the fall of 2025. Construction Walls While the Storybook Circus first opened along with the rest of New Fantasyland first opened in 2012, the circus tent structures that make up both Big Top Souvenirs and Pete’s Silly Sideshow both long predate the land, as they were constructed as part of Mickey’s Birthdayland way back in 1988. A throwback Mickey’s Birthdayland shirt They’ve been part of the land through several name changes over the last four decades, including Mickey’s Starland in 1990, Mickey’s Toyland (briefly) in 1995, and Mickey’s Toontown Fair from 1996 through 2011. ©D23 The Magic Kingdom’s Big Top Circus Souvenirs has closed for refurbishment, with a scheduled reopening later this year. If you keep up to date with Disney World construction projects, you probably know there are MASSIVE changes coming to the Frontierland area in Magic Kingdom. Not only is Big Thunder Mountain Railroad getting new updates, but we’re also getting a whole new area, Piston Peak, which will be right by Frontierland, where Tom Sawyer Island and the Rivers of America used to be. Don’t forget about Villains Land going behind Big Thunder Mountain! Big Al checking out the construction! We’re always on the hunt for new permits filed by Disney that can give us some clues as to what’s coming to the area. Much to our surprise, three carts and stands we didn’t think were getting any changes popped up on our permit list, and we can’t help but wonder what’s going on with Frontierland? First up, Big Al’s merchandise cart is on the list with a permit filed to “provide labor, material, and/or electrical for construction.” We’re not sure Big Al is going to love seeing his stand be worked on from Country Bear Musical Jamboree! Big Al’s is just off to the right! Westward Ho also has a permit for “provide labor, material, and/or electrical for construction” along with… Westward Ho …the churro cart in the same area. Frontierland Churro Cart There have been rumors that Big Al’s and Westward Ho are closing, but we haven’t seen any official information from Disney. The current Disney World calendar is updated through April 20th, and hours are listed for both locations, showing that if Disney is closing it down, they haven’t announced when. Where will our Bacon Pecan Caramel Cinnamon Roll go? It’s possible some refurbishments are happening on the stands, or, like the rumors say, they will be completely removed, but since there’s been so much construction in the Frontierland area, we’re not entirely surprised to see more changes on the way. Construction at Big Thunder Mountain Railroad One of the huge changes coming is Piston Peak, which will feature two Cars-themed attractions, including one that’s an outdoor race rally… ©Disney …and a more family-friendly attraction. We’re also expecting some merchandise locations and restaurants (and hopefully more snack carts!). There is currently no opening date for the land, but the changes to Big Thunder Mountain, including the addition of Rainbow Caverns, are set to open in spring 2026. ©Disney We’ll be keeping our eyes on all the changes at Disney World, so make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for the best up-to-date information for your next Disney vacation. 3 WEEKS WHEN MAGIC KINGDOM WILL BE EMPTY IN 2026 Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! Galacticoaster — LEGOLAND Parks This might be the most unique coaster of the bunch, and it’s opening the soonest! Both LEGOLAND California and LEGOLAND Florida Resort are launching Galacticoaster, an immersive indoor space-themed ride as part of the new LEGO Galaxy land at each park! This family coaster is set to be incredibly immersive, as it lets passengers design their own spacecraft with over 625 customization options. Additionally, it will feature the first-ever LEGO animatronic! ©The LEGO Group Galacticoaster will reach speeds up to 40 miles per hour, feature rotating ride vehicles, and include 4D storytelling effects via screens and physical sets. The ride is opening on February 27th, 2026, in Florida, and on March 6th, 2026, in California. Notably, this is LEGOLAND California’s first new coaster in nearly 20 years. Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift — Universal Studios Hollywood Things are about to get fast and furious on the West Coast, as Universal Studios Hollywood is launching its new Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift high-speed roller coaster this summer! ©NBC Universal Based on the blockbuster film franchise, this ride will be Universal Hollywood’s biggest roller coaster and its first-ever high-speed outdoor roller coaster. It’ll feature high-intensity launches up to 72 mph, a groundbreaking 360-degree rotation of the individual vehicles that creates a drifting sensation, immersive storytelling, and theming that fits in perfectly with the film franchise. Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift — Universal Studios Florida Yes — Florida is getting one, too! Set to arrive in 2027, this coaster will offer similar thrills, but with a totally different track that includes “a 170-foot vertical ‘spike’ that will send riders nearly 17 stories in the air over the outskirts of Universal CityWalk.” ©Universal The coaster is replacing the now-defunct Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, and Fast & Furious — Supercharged will also be permanently closing in 2027. New Terrain Coaster — Six Flags Magic Mountain Back in California, Six Flags Magic Mountain is building an unnamed roller coaster that will climb to a height of 127 feet before reaching a top speed of 56 mph along a track that features four inversions. We’re going to the Magic Kingdom multiple times per week to check on the Cinderella Castle repainting, and we do it so you can stay updated! Cinderella Castle is getting repainted! For a month now, Cinderella Castle has been undergoing a makeover. We like to check on her from time to time, and we have some updates to show you! The agents at Small World Vacations know how to save money on your Disney Vacation! When you book your trip with Small World Vacations, their experienced agents monitor your reservation for possible future savings. They also compare discounts and figure out which one works best for your travel party, dates, resort, and touring plans. And they share expert tips and first-hand advice with you about your magical vacation. The castle is returning to its original color scheme of blues, grays, and gold accents — a color scheme we haven’t seen since 2020, when the castle was repainted to the pink, blue, and gold version we see now, which was to celebrate the park’s 50th anniversary. The castle is slowly changing! The major difference this week is that the gray coloring is now visible from the front for the first time. Before, you could see some slight color changes from the side on the bridge towards Fantasyland, but now you can see some of the pink going grey at the front! Cinderella Castle! Luckily, the painting work is only done in the morning, and then the cranes are taken down at noon to make it easier for guests to take those iconic castle photos. Can you see the changes? The moat around the castle has also been drained, so the area definitely doesn’t look like how it usually does. We’re honestly surprised at how much they painted thus far, considering they started in January. The work continues! There isn’t any word as to when the castle repainting will be complete, but Disney is aiming for later this year! We’ll be checking in often to see how the project is going, so make sure to follow us at the Disney Food Blog so you don’t miss the latest updates. Even more news on Magic Kingdom‘s expansions dropped this week! If you read our update from Valentine’s Day, then you’ll know that the area is already flat and level. ©Bioreconstruct on Instagram They’ve already started on the foundations of some small structures, but we have some new permit approvals that reveal more about upcoming changes. Here’s what we know! The Central Florida Tourism Oversight District just published its January agenda, which mentions some projects at the House of Mouse. It’s for the North Service Area, a backstage utility center that’s north of the park along Floridian Place Road. @bioreconstruct on X This area will have a massive $6,750,000 electrical extension. The budget includes allowances for RCES design and support services ($1,000,000), professional services ($750,000), and Owner Furnished Materials ($5,000,000), plus a 10% contingency for unforeseen issues. ©Bioreconstruct on Instagram The project will expand the electrical area to meet Reedy Creek Energy Services’ increased load requirements. They’ll install new underground electric cables from their existing system to the electric service yard that will serve Disney. Also included is the installation of protective switches and pad-mounted transformers within the electric service yards to supply power to Disney. Reedy Creek Improvement District To fund the electrical expansion, Disney and Reedy Creek Energy Services are taking out Utility Revenue Bonds, and the rest will be paid with an advance payment. They’re already investing a lot in these new areas! ©WFTV 9 The upcoming Magic Kingdom expansion will include the Cars land, Piston Peak, and a Villains land. These two new areas will have at least four new rides, two new shops, two new restrooms, and one new restaurant. But that’s just what we know about – there could be even more! ©Disney Disney will need a lot of power for these new projects. We’re so excited to see what else Disney has in store for Magic Kingdom. Disney Springs is getting a new — although temporary — tenant for the former Sprinkles space. CrazyShake will move in from March through May along with its menu stacked with elaborate milkshakes, including a special edition Mickey Mouse shake. The Mickey beverage features are Mickey sprinkles, vanilla frosting, rock candy, whipped cream and a Mickey-shaped crispy treat (and a cherry on top). The item has been served exclusively at the CrazyShake location at Downtown Disney in Anaheim, California. Among the other options are the Bam Bam Shake (with Fruity Pebbles and strawberry Pop-Tarts) and the Cookies ‘n Cream Supreme. All company-owned Sprinkles Cupcakes locations, including the store at Walt Disney World, closed at the end of 2025. The chain was known for its baked goods and walk-up cupcake ATMs. It was founded in 2005 by Candace Nelson, who sold her ownership in 2012. It had operated at Disney Springs since 2016. CrazyShake is part of New York City-based Black Tap, which has restaurants in Manhattan, Las Vegas, Dallas and Nashville and across Europe and Asia. The short-term location at Disney Springs is in the Town Center neighborhood of the complex, near Frontera Cocina and at the foot of the bridge that connects with the Landing neighborhood, near Ragland Road Irish Pub. dbevil@orlandosentinel.com View the full article

Let’s be real, figuring out what bag to bring to Disney World is always a struggle. EVANCARY Small Sling Bag You want something big enough to hold your essentials but not so massive that you’re sweating buckets halfway through the day. I’ve tried the full backpack route, and honestly? It’s too much. Belt bags are cute, but they don’t always hold everything I need. So when I stumbled across this $8 sling bag on Amazon, I figured it was worth a shot. Spoiler alert: I might never go back to my old park bag setup. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. This EVANCARY Sling Bag Is the Sweet Spot EVANCARY Small Sling Bag The EVANCARY Small Sling Bag is basically the middle ground I didn’t know I needed. It’s compact without being tiny, measuring just over 11 inches tall, but still roomy enough for the essentials. Phone, card holder, portable charger, sunglasses, hand sanitizer, and a snack bar. It all fits without that overstuffed look. EVANCARY Small Sling Bag The material is water-resistant nylon, which is a huge plus in Florida. Afternoon rain showers don’t care about your cute park aesthetic. It also feels sturdy and scratch-resistant, so I’m not worried about tossing it in a stroller basket or setting it down at a quick-service table. Pockets That Actually Make Sense You know how some small bags technically have pockets, but they’re useless? Not here. There are multiple compartments, including a hidden pocket that sits flat against your body. I used that one for my ID and extra cash, and I loved not having to stress in long attraction lines or crowded walkways. EVANCARY Small Sling Bag Everything has its place, which means no digging around while the Cast Member is waiting for you to tap in. We’ve all been there. It’s Comfortable Enough for a 20,000-Step Day The strap is adjustable, which sounds basic but makes a big difference. I wore it crossbody most of the day and tightened it up when I noticed it shifting around. You can also wear it more like a chest bag if that’s your thing, or even sling it behind you like a mini backpack. EVANCARY Small Sling Bag What I love most is that it doesn’t sit flat against your entire back. That alone made it feel cooler than my usual backpack. It’s lightweight, easy to swing around when you need something, and it doesn’t scream tourist. The One Thing I’d Tweak I will say this. On my first park day with it, I didn’t pack it evenly. The items I had were heavier and settled toward the bottom, which made it tilt a bit to one side. Once I adjusted the strap to be more snug, it was fine. EVANCARY Small Sling Bag If you’re strategic about how you pack it, you probably won’t even notice. Still, for eight dollars, I can’t really complain. I’ve seen similar styles for triple the price. Do You Need It for Your Trip? If you’re someone who refuses to carry a giant backpack but also needs more than a tiny belt bag can handle, yes. This is definitely the solution. EVANCARY Small Sling Bag It made my park day easier, lighter, and way less chaotic. I wasn’t constantly shifting a heavy bag on my shoulders or trying to zip something closed with one hand while holding a Mickey pretzel in the other. Something new is coming to Universal Orlando! Luke Combs’ entertainment venue chain Category 10 will open its third location at Universal CityWalk. Universal Orlando Grammy nominee Luke Combs is known for songs “Hurricane,” “When It Rains It Pours,” “Beautiful Crazy,” and Twister‘s “Ain’t No Love in Oklahoma.” Even if you don’t know country music, you’ve heard his cover of Tracy Chapman’s “Fast Car,” which reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 rankings after he performed with her at the 2024 Grammys. According to Universal’s press release, the venue will begin construction this summer. The building will be massive — three stories tall across 33,000 square feet! Category 10 already has a location in Nashville, and it is opening another in Las Vegas this fall. ©Universal Category 10’s first location in Nashville opened in 2024. The venue, named in reference to Comb’s breakout hit “Hurricane,” is themed to be a massive hurricane that’s influenced by Comb’s South Carolina roots. ©Category 10 The two existing locations feature line dancing and live music with a sports bar, lounge, and rooftop bar for dining options. The menu includes burgers, sandwiches, ribs, salads, and signature drinks – including 64 ounce shareable cocktail, Life of the Party. ©Category 10 “I’m super-pumped and humbled that we’re getting to open a location there,” Luke Combs said in the news release. “My wife is from Florida, so we’re both super-excited about this. I am glad to be bringing our brand of first-class service and awesome tunes to the Sunshine State.” ©Luke Combs We’re so excited for CityWalk to get a new music venue. Orlando is lacking in its country music scene, so a new venue would mean more country music! Plus CityWalk is a very convenient area compared to more out-of-the-way venues. Time is ticking before we have to say goodbye to an iconic Disney World ride for good — well, sort of. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith permanently closes on March 2nd, so that Disney can begin transforming it into Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets. While we’re stoked about the addition of The Muppets to this ride, we can’t help but feel sad that the original version of this ride is going away. We’re keeping up with all the latest changes, and we’ve spotted a new permit ahead of this ride’s permanent closure. A new permit was recently filed for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster ahead of The Muppets transformation. Coastal Steel, Inc. is listed as the contractor on the permit — a steel fabrication company that has worked on several Disney World and other theme park rides in the past. ©Disney The scope of work is listed as General Construction, and since Coastal Steel is listed as the contractor, we’re guessing this work has something to do with ride infrastructure and steel frameworks. Since Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets is slated to open this summer, we’re not expecting a ton of changes to the ride itself — just the overall theme. Still, this permit marks an exciting step toward the overall transformation. ©Disney The Muppets are moving to Sunset Boulevard and taking over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith! The Muppets will be the stars of the show on Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster and will be teaming up with some of “music’s biggest stars for a rockin’ music festival.” ©Disney The new version of the coaster is expected to open in Summer 2026, which is a pretty quick turnaround time for any theme park, but especially Disney. However, Disney closed the existing pre-show of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster out of nowhere back on December 1st, likely to start working on it faster. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster area entrance on Sunset Boulevard We’ll be on the lookout for more changes ahead of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster’s closure for refurbishment. When it comes to staying at a Disney World hotel, resorts with monorail access to the parks are some of the best! With that said, there are still downsides to staying at one of these hotels… Disney’s Contemporary Resort There are so many Disney hotels to choose from that the choice can be overwhelming. Of course, the best thing you can do when selecting your perfect resort is to learn as much about it as you can! Know the theming, the vibes, the amenities, the perks, the location, and — of course — the free transportation options that are available to you. In the case of the Disney World Monorail Resorts, these locations usually check all the boxes and can be considered in a class above the rest. With that said, there are a few downsides to staying at a monorail hotel that aren’t talked about enough Of course, evacuations are always possible, as well. The monorail works as intended almost always, but it’s important to keep in mind that any transportation that you don’t control can always be subject to unexpected stoppages. Monorail Resorts Can Be Uncomfortably Busy Pretty much every Disney World hotel gets busy, but Monorail Resorts are something special. They’re packed with guests and Disney fans staying elsewhere who are trying to catch a dining reservation at a beloved restaurant or experience the resort without needing a stay. It’s very likely that you’ll step out of your room into some wild foot traffic — especially during the holidays. Grand Floridian Lobby at Christmastime (2022) You also need to consider that since the monorail is convenient, it’s also popular. Too popular… Monorail crowds At the end of a park day, crowds flood the monorail stations, and the traffic — and monorail wait — can be annoying to say the least. We advise letting the crowds die down before heading to the monorail — or any other form of Disney World transportation, for that matter. While most folks will fight their way into a long line, you can get some extra shopping done or just sit and take in the Disney atmosphere. With that said, if you do join the mass exodus, at least you only have to deal with one more long line before you can simply head up to your room and peacefully crash for the evening. Lots of People Waiting Even though the Monorail Resorts present these issues, we have no intention of never staying at them again. THESE ARE INCREDIBLE RESORTS, and you should absolutely book a stay at any one of them if they’re your favorite or if it’s been a dream! We just want you to have as much information as possible. An iconic animator of some of Disney’s most classic films, Jane Baer, has sadly passed away in her sleep on February 16th. She passed away in her home in Van Nuys, California, according to her obituary. She was 91 years old. ©TheWrap Jane Baer was a pioneering animator whose career lasted over six decades at Disney and beyond. Baer’s career was filled with working on iconic and generational Disney films. She was known for her contributions to several cinematic milestones, including her work as an assistant animator on Sleeping Beauty, as well as a leadership role in the animation for Who Framed Roger Rabbit. You can find all of her work on IMDb. ©Disney Jane Baer also worked alongside legendary Disney figures like the “Nine Old Men,” a group of Walt Disney Productions’ core animators established in the 1920’s. After that, she co-founded the independent studio Baer Animation. ©Variety Baer also worked on other Disney classics, including The Rescuers, Pete’s Dragon, The Fox and the Hound, Mickey’s Christmas Carol, The Black Cauldron, and The Great Mouse Detective. ©Disney Baer was also a founding member of Women in Animation, a non-profit organization that offers panels, workshops, and mixers for women animators, according to Variety. They actually have scholarships and mentoring programs for young and emerging female animators. Jane Baer has left a long-lasting legacy and a huge impact on the industry. ©Legacy Her family requested donations be made in her honor to the Best Friends Pet Adoption Center in Los Angeles. She will be remembered for the amazing life she lived! Our thoughts are with Baer’s friends, family, and loved ones at this time. View the full article
