We’ll be saying goodbye to the EPCOT Festival of the Arts very soon, but we’re anxiously awaiting details for the NEXT festival, the EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival. Fleur de Lys at the 2025 EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival The EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival starts on March 1st and runs through June 1st. Like every EPCOT festival, it will bring food booths with tons of delicious eats and drinks to EPCOT. Well, we’ve finally got a first look at some of the food and drinks we’ll be seeing at the festival. Now, Disney revealed this first look a little differently, with a fun video of Noah Sunday-Lefkowitz, who plays his guitar upside down (deliberately) and sings “Listen to the Land” (a real banger, y’all). But we’ve dug out all the details about the food and drinks Disney is teasing. ©Disney First up, we’ve got a Blackened Fish Slider at Florida Fresh. ©Disney You’ll also be able to dig into some Ceviche at La Isla Fresca. ©Disney La Isla Fresca will also have Coconut-Chocolate Flan Bizcoccho on its menu. ©Disney Brunchcot is bringing back the breakfast vibes with Avocado Toast (seriously, this toast is so pretty!). ©Disney For a refreshing beverage, head to Beach Grub for the Strawberry-Basil Lemonade. ©Disney You can also nom on the Orange Cream Bar at Beach Grub. ©Disney One of our favorite snacks is the Trio of Chips and Dips, which is returning to Yacht Grub this year. ©Disney Yacht Grub also has a tasty beverage on its menu, the Limoncello-Basil Sparkling Cocktail, which sounds delightful! ©Disney The Citrus Blossom is bringing a Lemon Tart. ©Disney Nectar, hosted by AdventHealth, is a NEW food booth this year. You’ll be able to grab a Coconut Panna Cotta there. ©Disney Farmers Feast is bringing the Hibiscus Lemon Cocktail. Yum. ©Disney The Miso Cola-Glazed Sticky Pork Ribs are on the menu at Towel & Trellis. ©Disney The Honey Bee-stro is back with the Chicken and Waffles (SWEET, literally!). ©Disney This little tease probably means we’ll have the FULL menus soon for the festival, but in the meantime, you can watch Disney’s teaser video below: We’ll keep an eye out for those full menus, as well as be at the festival on DAY ONE to try everything, so stay tuned to DFB for more. 5 Things I Wish I’d Known Before Going to the EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR FESTIVAL DAYS DFB's Guide to the EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival details everything you need to know to maximize your time, budget, and stomach space! Have you ever paused in EPCOT’s Norway Pavilion and noticed how it feels like it’s been there for generations? That’s not accidental. It’s the result of skilled cast members like Rosa, an Associate Project Manager with Facility Asset Management (FAM). Rosa is the lead of refresh work underway in the pavilion, guiding specialized teams through opportunities to enhance the guest experience and making them feel as if they’ve been whisked to Norway. The Details That Make Norway Feel Like Norway Ask Rosa what makes this work special, and her answer is simple: “Every detail matters.” That’s the mindset she brings to the refresh work in the Norway Pavilion every day. Rosa brought in artisans and specialists who used more than 200 colors and stains to create the layered, lived-in look that makes the pavilion feel steeped in history. From authentic rockwork around the waterfall to paint touches like subtle rust drips and aged finishes, Rosa helped identify key areas to keep the pavilion’s craftsmanship looking authentic down to the smallest details. As part of this refresh work, guests will spot a new beverage kiosk that looks like it came straight from the Norwegian countryside. Designed by Walt Disney Imagineering and modeled after traditional Norwegian stabbur cabins, the kiosk was created to feel as authentic as the structures that inspired it. That sense of place is woven throughout the Norway Pavilion. As guests explore, the architecture shifts like a journey across the country; moving from the feel of urban Oslo, traveling through Bergen and Haakon’s Hall, climbing into Setesdal mountain hamlets near the Stave Church, and ending in the quiet countryside of log buildings and sod roofs. And that’s not all! As part of this refresh work, guests who set sail on Frozen Ever After will also see newly enhanced Audio-Animatronics figures by Walt Disney Imagineering of some of their favorite characters. A Dream Sparked at Disneyland Rosa’s Disney journey began with a moment she still remembers clearly: a family trip to Disneyland where she watched her daughter experience Disney for the very first time. Seeing that joy, wonder, and pure delight inspired Rosa, and she wanted to help create those same feelings for other families. Today, she gets to do exactly that by helping keep the Norway Pavilion looking its best for the millions of guests who visit EPCOT each year. From Military Service to Disney Magic Before she began her Disney journey, Rosa served 24 years in the United States Air Force. Joining the company as part of Disney’s “Heroes Work Here” veteran hiring initiative, she ultimately found her calling in Facility Asset Management where the leadership, discipline, and commitment to excellence she built through military service translated naturally. “In the military, everything you do trains you to lead and care for your team,” Rosa says. “FAM’s core values of ownership, value, and trust echo the military’s core values of service, excellence, and integrity. It was a perfect fit.” Rosa earned her Project Management Professional (PMP) certification during her military career and continues to maintain it today. With Disney’s support, she’s been able to apply those skills in meaningful ways supporting complex projects, coordinating partners, and helping teams bring the magic to life behind-the-scenes. Looking Ahead Almost 350 cast members work in Facility Asset Management across Walt Disney World to immerse guests in the magic by keeping the attractions they know and love looking their best. For Rosa, that’s what makes the work matter: “Watching kids and adults enjoy the experience out there… that’s why we do what we do.” Her story reflects Disney’s unwavering commitment to empowering veterans; helping them transform their service experience into careers that make magic for our guests every day. We all know that this is the year Toy Story 5 comes out, but don’t sleep on the other Pixar movie that is releasing to theatres in two weeks! ©Pixar Disney Pixar’s Hoppers is releasing to theatres on March 6th, and we’re looking forward to this new original story in the Pixar library. Now, as much as I love a good theatre-going experience, I do appreciate saving some money and watching movies from the comfort of my own home. So the real question is, when does the movie come to Disney+? Hoppers tells the story of a girl named Mabel, who has discovered that scientists have found a way to “hop” their human minds into lifelike robotic bodies. Mabel is an animal lover who uses that technology to “become” a robotic beaver so she can prevent a construction company’s plans to destroy a local animal habitat. ©Disney The movie features a cast including Piper Curda, Bobby Moynihan, Jon Hamm, Kathy Najimy, Dave Franco, Meryl Streep, Demetri Martin, Heidi Klum, and more. We’ve seen all the trailers, and we’re looking forward to this new movie. Hoppers at Pixar Place Hotel Obviously, with the movie coming out on March 6th, Disney hasn’t made any announcement as to when the movie could come to Disney+. So, to figure out the timeframe of when this could come to Disney+, we’ll have to look at some of Pixar’s latest movies. ©Disney Elio was the last movie to come out, and that released on June 20th, 2025. It didn’t release on Disney+ until September 17th — almost three months later. Inside Out 2 dropped in theatres on June 10th, 2024, and didn’t make its way to Disney+ until September 25th. So, a movie like Inside Out 2 took over three months to release on Disney+, and that could’ve been due to the movie’s box office success. ©Disney For Hoppers, it’s safe to assume it will follow that same three-month period, which puts its Disney+ release in that June timeframe. Interestingly enough, that would put Hoppers on Disney+ right around the time Toy Story 5 releases in theatres (June 19th). So, it wouldn’t be surprising if Disney puts Hoppers on Disney+ a little earlier, as they’ll want everyone going out to Toy Story 5, and not staying home watching another movie. ©Disney We’ll be keeping an eye out for how the movie performs once it releases, and any information Disney drops about Disney+ in the future. When it comes to Walt Disney World, many longtime Disney fans have their own small traditions they’ve developed over the years. Whether it’s a specific order they move around the parks, designated spots where they always take vacation photos, a particular meal they always eat, etc. Luminous: The Symphony of US Personally, I’ve developed several over the 30+ years I’ve been visiting Disney parks, including a very sweet — in more ways than one — way I like to end my days at EPCOT. As I’m sure everyone reading this is aware, each night at EPCOT ends with a fireworks spectacular on the World Showcase Lagoon. Over the park’s 40+ year existence, there have been several presentations, including Carnival de Lumiere, Laserphonic Fantasy, various versions of IllumiNations (including the long-running Reflections of Earth), Harmonious, EPCOT Forever, and the current presentation, Luminous: The Symphony of Us. Luminous in EPCOT While many view the show from the shores around the World Showcase Lagoon — which I would still recommend for the first time one sees the show — I like to do something a bit different during most of my visits. I’ll head over to the Norway Pavilion and pop into the Kringla Bakeri og Cafe. Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe There, I’ll pick up one of the iconic School Bread Rolls. These well-known EPCOT treats — a sweet roll filled with custard and dipped in coconut — had long been a favorite of many EPCOT guests, including myself and many members of our DFB team. School Bread From there, I’ll pop out the back door to the small seating area that looks out onto the walkway that circles World Showcase and the lagoon beyond it. From there, I’ll watch the show from a comfortable seat while enjoying my sweet treat instead of being crammed into a massive crowd. Kringla seating (during the day) Now, I do have to note that, between being set back from the walkway, looking over people’s heads, and the presence of the roof that covers the seating area, there are some portions of the show that are tough to see. So once again, I would NOT recommend this for anyone’s first or second viewing of Luminous. However, if you’ve seen the show several times, it can be a fun and more relaxing way to enjoy the vibe and atmosphere of the fireworks… and enjoy some School Bread to boot! Luminous at EPCOT This is just one of my little personal Disney World traditions. Stay tuned to DFB for more personal takes from our team! A new Disneyland app feature is getting tested today, and it’s going to make life so much easier on vacation! Disneyland Have you ever searched around Disneyland looking for that very specific merch item?! It can be time-consuming, tiring, and frustrating at times. Well, this new feature on the Disneyland app is going to change everything when it comes to shopping. Now you can use the app to see what Disneyland merch is available in stores and at what stores it is available! Check out the “Find Merchandise” feature, a brand-new limited-time test run specifically for Lunar New Year merch items. ©Disney Once you click on the feature, it will have a pop-up letting you know that it is just a trial run. It also has a description of the details of the brand-new feature. ©Disney Once you get in, you’ll see a section with top products to inspire you, as well as a section with merch items that are trending. If you know exactly what you’re looking for, you can use the search bar! ©Disney We searched for where the “Lunar New Year Mickey Plush” might be, and it gave us a list of detailed results. It included which stores had it in stock, which stores didn’t have it in stock, and even the stores’ hours! Like we said before, it is only being used for Lunar New Year merch, which only includes the stores Elias & Co., Embarcadero Gifts, Festival Gifts, and Acorns Gifts & Goods. ©Disney We’re hoping this becomes a permanent feature — it would be such a game-changer for shopping at Disneyland. The feature has also been in the testing stage for the Disney World app since November. Testing has limited the feature to only showing stock at World of Disney in Disney Springs. Lucky Foods Lunar New Year Shirt Disneyland’s Lunar New Year Celebration is ending on February 22nd, so the testing period won’t last very long. Unless Disney uses the feature to test out another group of merchandise. We’re going to keep an eye out to see if this feature sticks around after Lunar New Year. Because we see so many Disney merchandise collections all the time, we can spot souvenirs that will sell out quickly. Sometimes it’s limited-time merch from EPCOT festivals, and others it’s just a really good collection that we know won’t last long. ©Disney Lately, Disney has been bringing in some of the international favorites to the States, and we can’t get enough. If you’ve ever seen merch from the international parks and said, “Why can’t we get that here?” we’ve asked ourselves the same thing, and Disney listened. They just dropped a new collection dedicated to Sakura (cherry blossoms), which we know is going to sell out super fast. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Check out the whole collection! ©Disney There are SO many adorable characters to choose from in the collection. There are characters like Stitch and Eeyore, along with Chip ‘n Dale. My favorite has to be Lumpy the Heffalump from Winnie the Pooh, and the whole collection is filled with pretty pastel colors. Shop The Whole Collection We love this Piglet Sakura Plush! ©Disney It’s. So. Dang. Cute. It’s only about five inches tall and is totally pink. The little flower by his ear just takes it to the next level of cuteness. There are embroidered details, and the eyes are stitches with light reflections to make him look more like the Piglet we know and love. Check It Out Here! There’s a Stitch Sakura Plush, too! ©Disney This one is only about five inches tall and completely pink. He looks so cuddly, especially with his dark pink nose. His ears are off-center, which I think only adds to the cuteness, and he’s super soft and fuzzy. The cherry blossom applique makes it look like he was climbing in the trees. Check It Out Here! Finally, grab the Eeyore Sakura Keychain. ©Disney With this keychain, you can bring him everywhere with you! He looks so, so, SO fluffy, and even the keychain has the loop that looks like a cherry blossom. He has a few other flowers hanging around, and his iconic tail has his pink bow in the back. It even looks like he’s blushing! Check It Out Here! These are likely to sell out fast — they already did before! If you know you love them, grab them now, and don’t forget to keep following Disney Food Blog for more. View the full article

If you’ve been planning Disney World trips for as long as we have, it’s safe to assume you probably still have a little trauma from the days when certain reservations felt straight-up impossible to get. Oh, are the times they are a-changin’… The Grand Ballroom in Be Our Guest Restaurant While the process of waking up early at 6 AM ET 60 days out from your vacation is definitely still part of the Disney World planning steps, it’s not as daunting as it used to be. Believe it or not, a few of those “no-chance” reservations have quietly become WAY easier to snag lately. We’re going to go over four spots that used to feel completely out of reach, and why they’re surprisingly doable right now — albeit with some caveats. From character meals to new lounges — these restaurants are easier to book than ever before! Be Our Guest Restaurant Located in Magic Kingdom, Be Our Guest Restaurant was once a super hard reservation to snag. Scoring a table at this Beauty and the Beast-themed restaurant wasn’t impossible, but always tricky. It makes sense — who wouldn’t want to dine inside Beast’s castle? Grabbing a reservation here was so serious that people would plan entire trips around it. Be Our Guest ballroom But things have changed a lot. Between the shift to a prix-fixe menu, price increases, and many guests deciding Be Our Guest is good enough as a “one-and-done” experience, demand has cooled significantly. Reservation availability is much more common these days, and sometimes you’ll even be able to find same-week availability. Empty table It’s still a popular restaurant (especially since Magic Kingdom is a tad limited when it comes to sit-down dining), but it’s no longer the impossible reservation it once was. Oga’s Cantina Remember when getting into Oga’s Cantina at Disney’s Hollywood Studios meant stalking the My Disney Experience app for weeks? Those days are mostly over. Oga’s Cantina in Hollywood Studios Capacity adjustments and the 45-minute time limit have really impacted availability, making it a lot easier to visit during a Disney World vacation. Additionally, the novelty has kinda worn off, especially since its clone exists over on the West Coast at Disneyland. And over there, Disney doesn’t even use reservations anymore. Oga’s Cantina Back at Disney World, you can often grab a reservation with normal planning now, and same-day availability isn’t uncommon either. That said, walk-up waitlists can still fill quickly during peak seasons and times, so don’t figure that you can just show up and get seated. GEO-82 EPCOT’s newest lounge — GEO-82 — opened more recently than other entries on this list, and it had been notoriously difficult to get a reservation until recently. Everyone wanted to check out the brand-new EPCOT adults-only lounge experience, and reservations disappeared instantly. However, like most new things at Disney World, time has been kinder to those looking to snag a reservation. GEO-82 This Spaceship Earth-themed restaurant only caters to adults, so folks with kids aren’t inclined to book any times. And now that the initial frenzy has cooled, advance reservations are much more attainable — especially if you’re flexible. The bar! We have to warn you, though, that lounge seating — specifically — is still a serious challenge. That portion remains one of the tougher EPCOT bookings to land. GEO-82, in general, won’t be the easiest EPCOT reservation either, but it’s a far cry from the impossibility it was last summer. Topolino’s Terrace — Flavors of the Riviera Leaving the theme parks and heading over to Disney’s Riviera Resort, Topolino’s Terrace has become a noticeably easier reservation to get…with one big catch. Topolino’s Terrace Fine dinner at Topolino’s Terrace is surprisingly manageable these days. You can often find evening reservations without too much stress. Topolino Tramonto Breakfast, though? Good luck. The Breakfast à la Art with Mickey & Friends character dining experience is still an absolute nightmare. It remains one of the most competitive reservations at Disney World, and it disappears almost instantly when booking windows open. Mickey at Topolino’s Terrace character breakfast So while dinner is finally doable, breakfast still requires some intense planning. Quiche and Pastries Paint Can at Topolino’s Terrace A lot of these changes come down to time, pricing shifts, and guest trends. Gatorland is the national’s most popular roadside attraction, according to a new survey that weighs TripAdvisor reviews, Instagram posts and worldwide Google searches. The Orlando animal attraction, operating since 1949, edged out Sun Studio of Memphis, Tennessee, in the rankings, which were released by Betway Casino, which analyzed the statistics for more than 80 roadside attractions in the United States. Gatorland features hundreds of reptiles, as well as other animals, plus gator wrestling, a zip-line course that travels over the breeding marsh, an off-road attraction, old Florida charm and an iconic entrance that encourages visitors to walk through oversized alligator jaws. The survey says Gatorland’s average TripAdvisor score was 4.4, the second-highest level in the final top 10, and it has been featured in 135,932 Instagram posts. Four California attractions made the top 10 list, including Winchester Mystery House in San Jose; Glass Beach at Fort Bragg; Salvation Mountain, a folk-art installation; and the bright pink Madonna Inn in San Luis Obispo. The closest, in physical distance, to Orlando beyond Gatorland was Blowing Rock in North Carolina. Other top finishers include House on the Rock in Wisconsin; Cadillac Ranch in Amarillo, Texas; and Devils Punch Bowl of Otter Rock, Oregon. dbevil@orlandosentinel.com View the full article

Disney Adults, it’s happening again. BoxLunch dropped a collection of retro-inspired Disney tees, and now everyone’s suddenly dressing like they just stepped out of a 1953 drive-in movie. ©BoxLunch These shirts are giving vintage varsity, faded concert tee, and storybook nostalgia all at once. If you’ve been scrolling lately and thinking, “Wait, why does everyone have that shirt?” this is your sign. Let’s talk about the throwback styles Disney fans are adding to cart right now. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Grab the Tinker Bell Cropped Jersey ©BoxLunch If you’ve ever wanted to look like you’re on the Never Land varsity team, this Disney Peter Pan Tinker Bell Women’s Cropped Football Jersey is the one for you. BoxLunch has an exclusive Tinker Bell football-style jersey that feels equal parts sporty and pixie chic. It’s cropped with that boxy, relaxed fit that’s everywhere right now, and the soft sage green shade is basically Tink’s signature color in fabric form. Front and center, there’s a big varsity-style “53” as a nod to the year Peter Pan flew into theaters. The numbers have this subtle sparkle detail that makes it feel like someone sprinkled a little pixie dust over the whole thing. Tink herself is layered over the graphic in her classic look, bun and all. ©BoxLunch The shoulders feature little starburst accents that keep the fairy theme going, and even the sleeve stripes are themed. Instead of basic athletic bands, you’ll spot tiny sewing-inspired icons worked into the design. It’s such a clever wink to the film. There’s even a woven tag at the hem to complete the jersey vibe. Disney Adults are pairing this with bike shorts, wide-leg jeans, and chunky sneakers, and honestly, it works every time. View Price on BoxLunch Channel Vintage Princess Energy with Cinderella ©BoxLunch If you’re more of a classic tee person, the Disney Cinderella Fade Cinderella T-Shirt is having a moment. It’s a black crewneck with a retro-inspired print that looks like it’s been living in your closet since the early 80s in the best way. Cinderella is front and center in her iconic ballgown, posed against a bold circular backdrop. Her name sweeps across the bottom in bright script lettering, and the entire graphic has that worn-in, slightly distressed finish that makes it feel authentic instead of overly polished. This is the kind of shirt you throw on with straight-leg jeans and instantly look put together without trying too hard. It’s simple, it’s nostalgic, and it’s very “cool Disney Adult who thrifts but also knows about BoxLunch drops.” View Price on BoxLunch Go Full Wonderland with the Alice Poster Tee ©BoxLunch For the maximalists, the Disney Alice in Wonderland Black Alice Poster T-Shirt is a whole conversation starter. This shirt features a large rectangular graphic that looks like a vintage film poster, complete with a thin border that makes it pop against the dark fabric. The artwork is done in a striking black-and-white style and packed with detail. Alice, the Cheshire Cat, the Mad Hatter, the Queen of Hearts, the White Rabbit, they’re all woven into this whimsical collage of mushrooms and florals. It feels busy in the best way, like you notice something new every time you look at it. It’s bold without being neon or loud, which makes it super wearable. Toss it on with black denim or even a leather jacket, and you’ve got instant edgy fairytale energy. View Price on BoxLunch Romantic Retro with Lady and the Tramp ©BoxLunch If cottagecore met Disney night, this would be the result. The Disney The Lady and the Tramp Floral Embroidered Women’s T-Shirt is another BoxLunch exclusive, and it leans all the way into soft, romantic details. The centerpiece is an embroidered version of the iconic spaghetti scene, framed by stitched florals, leaves, and tiny butterflies. Because it’s embroidery instead of a standard print, it has that elevated, boutique feel. The cream-colored fabric makes everything pop in the prettiest way. ©BoxLunch Even the sleeves are dressed up with ribbon and lace trim, which gives it that subtle vintage vibe without feeling costume-y. It’s sweet, it’s nostalgic, and it’s definitely one of those shirts people will stop you to ask about in the parks. View Price on BoxLunch Sleepy Princess, But Make It Fashion ©BoxLunch Last but not least, Sleeping Beauty fans are getting their moment. This Disney Sleeping Beauty Silhouettes Womens T-Shirt features a storybook-inspired rectangular design that centers on Aurora’s silhouette reaching toward the spinning wheel. Around her, you’ll spot Maleficent, her dragon form, and the three good fairies adding pops of color. The castle backdrop and dreamy sky tones make it feel straight out of a vintage movie poster. The slightly textured finish gives it that retro touch, so it doesn’t look overly modern or glossy. It’s dramatic in the best way, and if you’re the kind of Disney Adult who loves a darker fairytale aesthetic, this one’s probably already in your cart. If you’re a Gideon’s Bakehouse fan, then you’re going to love this. The owner of Gideon’s Bakehouse is opening a new restaurant at Disney Springs! ©Six Ravens Six Ravens is a fast-casual concept that will specialize in savory hand pies. It will open sometime in 2026, but we have an update that means work is happening, and we’re crossing our fingers that it means we’ll be getting new, savory treats sooner rather than later. The First Raven LLC just filed a construction permit with the state of Florida. These construction permits indicate that the company will be doing $5,000 or more in renovation work that requires government approval. This construction is for a kitchen renovation. Six Raven’s themed decals Six Ravens will be in the storefront previously occupied by the Art of Shaving, so we’re expecting it to look pretty different when there’s a restaurant inside. Not every space in Disney Springs has a full kitchen; some use other spaces and bring in their products to the storefronts. We’re excited to see the new setup, and this kitchen renovation could add an oven to warm treats fresh and other food safety features like sinks and fridges. Art of Shaving Disney Springs While no concept art has been released yet, we’re expecting the restaurant’s interior to be just as dark and moody as Gideon’s. It’s been described as dark and gothic, which fits the vibe of its sister restaurant perfectly. Inside Gideon’s Bakehouse The new Six Ravens menu already has us drooling. They’ll specialize in savory hand pies called Coffyns – it’s a house-made yeast roll stuffed with fillings created in partnership with other Central Florida chefs. Creator Steve Lewis has hinted that one hand pie will be made with Disney Springs BBQ restaurant The Polite Pig. Also on the menu are smashed potatoes, local beer, and some tasty desserts. ©Six Ravens We’re so excited for Six Ravens to open soon. 3 Weeks When Magic Kingdom Will Be Empty in 2026
Disney4me posted a topic in Disney Food/Restaurants
Given its status as the most attended theme park on the planet, it’s hard to find many, if an,y “empty” days at the Magic Kingdom, even during traditional “off-seasons.” Magic Kingdom Now, one BIG clarification to make here: The Magic Kingdom is always busy. Yes, these weeks are comparatively less crowded than the rest of the year, but if you’re expecting the park to be a ghost town with mostly walk-on attractions, you’re setting yourself up for disappointment. April 19th – 25th Thanks to Easter — and in turn many spring break sessions at U.S. schools — falling relatively early this year, the final weeks of April and even early weeks of May will likely be relatively quiet at the “Most Magical Place on Earth.” The closer things get to Memorial Day, the more things will pick up. EMPTY! August 23rd – 29th The aforementioned Memorial Day holiday will launch the unofficial start of the summer season, which — as always — will be busy at the Magic Kingdom. However, crowd levels will begin to go down at the end of August as most U.S. students — including Florida locals — will be back in session, meaning that for many families, summer vacation season will have passed. The downside to visiting during this period is the weather. Not only is it hot, but it’s the height of hurricane season. Cinderella Castle September 13th – 19th Following the last gasp of summer that is Labor Day Weekend, the Magic Kingdom will be (again, relatively) empty during mid-late September, as many guests visiting the resort during this period will likely prioritize EPCOT for the Food & Wine Festival. In addition, this will only be exacerbated on days when the park is closing early to host Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, leading to even lower daytime crowds. Magic Kingdom in the fall. While there’s no such thing as an “empty” week at the Magic Kingdom, if you can swing a visit during any of these weeks, you’ll be dealing with comparatively smaller crowds. Stay tuned to DFB for more on Disney World’s crowds. 5 Magic Kingdom Secrets Disney Doesn’t Want You to Know Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! While many it may feel like winter is never-ending in the U.S., spring is just around the corner. In fact, one of Disney’s BIGGEST SPRING EVENTS is just two weeks away! The Lion King topiary at EPCOT The 2026 EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival is scheduled to run from March 4th to June 1st, and feature many of the iconic elements that have become synonymous with the festival since its 1994 debut, including food booths, topiaries, and of course, the Garden Rocks concert series. Arguably, the most unique part of the festival, at least from a visual presentation perspective, are the character topiaries. The confirmed list of topiaries for the 2026 festival includes: Buzz Lightyear, Woody, Bo Peep and her sheep, Lotso, and the Pixar Ball Mike Wazowski & Sulley – Creations Shop Figment, Flower Topiaries and Flower Towers – World Celebration Plaza Encanto (Mirabel, Antonio, Isabela and Luisa) – Near the Imagination Pavilion Simba and Friends (Rafiki, Simba, Mufasa and Sarabi) – Near the Imagination Pavilion Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Chip, Dale and Pluto Lightning McQueen & Mater – near Connections Cafe Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy – Near Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Stitch – Near Mission: SPACE Tinker Bell’s Fairy House Garden – United Kingdom Pavilion Winnie the Pooh and Friends (Rabbit, Eeyore, Piglet and Tigger) – United Kingdom Pavilion Lady and the Tramp – Italy Pavilion Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs – Germany Pavilion Beauty and the Beast – France Pavilion Tiana – The American Adventure Pavilion Miguel and Dante from Coco – Mexico Pavilion Groot As far as food goes, the park will once again be home to a large collection of outdoor kitchens stocked with “garden-fresh cuisine.” You can find information on each booth’s menu HERE. Mediterranean Vegetable Wrap from 2025 This year’s Garden Rocks Concert will feature a lineup of new and returning acts performing nightly from March 4th to June 1st in the America Gardens Theater at 5:30 PM, 6:45 PM, and 8:00 PM. This year’s lineup includes: March 5th-7th — The Music of ABBA (NEW) March 8th-9th — Simple Plan March 13th-14th — Blue October March 15th-16th — Billy Ocean March 20th-23rd — THE ORCHESTRA starring former members of ELO & ELO Part II March 27th-28th — Herman’s Hermits starring Peter Noone March 29th-30th — 38 Special April 3rd-4th — Chubby Checker April 5th-6th — Sugar Ray April 10th-11th — Information Society (NEW) April 12th-13th — Rick Springfield April 17th-18th — Berlin April 19th-20th — The Commodores April 24th-25th — FireHouse (NEW) April 26th-27th — Air Supply May 1st-2nd — A Flock of Seagulls May 3rd-4th — Plain White T’s May 8th-9th — Katrina, formerly of Katrina & The Waves (NEW) May 10th-11th — 98 Degrees May 15th-16th — The Spinners May 17th-18th — Josiah Queen (NEW) May 22nd-23rd — Iam Tongi (NEW) May 24th-25th — A.J. Croce: Croce Plays Croce May 29th-30th — Queensrÿche May 31st-June 1st — Maverick City Music Garden Rocks Concert A word of advice: if you want to catch a specific show, see if any Dining Packages remain available for your desired date. Dining Packages are available to pair breakfast, lunch, or dinner (either a three-course meal or full buffet with a beverage — non-alcoholic or alcoholic for of-age guests — based on location) at a participating EPCOT restaurant with guaranteed priority seating for an evening show on the same date. The exception is Spice Road Table, where each guest receives 2 small plates and a nonalcoholic beverage (or alcoholic beverage for Guests 21 and older), and a shared tagine and a shared dessert platter for the table. Some further advice for attending the festival: Have seasonal allergy medication handy. There is a lot of pollen in the air. Be wary of the weather, and dress appropriately. The early part of the festival will take place when temperatures are still low, stretches through the spring rainy season, and ends in early June as the summer heat begins to kick in. Watch out for bees, who tend to congregate around the topiaries… and sometimes Joffrey’s coffee cart, much to our chagrin! Elsa and Anna have had work done. Kristoff, too. It’s fun to say and pretty accurate, too, as animatronics within Epcot’s Frozen Ever After ride have been upgraded. It’s all from the neck up on the figures, and most observers are giving thumbs up to the projects. Imagineers say the figures now have a more lifelike articulated head with silicone skin. Previously, the faces were created with projections. It was a look they had had since the ride — a revamp of Maelstrom — opened in 2016. Disney says technology has improved in that time. So if you’re a science hater, you might go look these royals in the eye now. I would say they’re less … ghostly now. A decade ago, it seemed fresh and modern. “Their faces are clean, crisp-looking and perfectly animated,” I wrote in a recap in 2016. “Disney fans have seen this look on gem-mining workers at the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train ride in Magic Kingdom.” Also noted was the dramatic combination of music, backward motion, visual effects and Elsa arm-ography during “Let It Go,” which remains a highlight. During Frozen Ever After, Elsa's animatronic casts a spell and busts into "Let It Go." The figure recently got an update, replacing her face that had been merely a projection. (Dewayne Bevil/Orlando Sentinel) Back on opening day of the ride, all went well for a couple of hours, then stoppages led to 300-minute waits. The line stretched out the door, weaved through the China pavilion and onto the bridge to Germany. The “Frozen” franchise has turned out to have legs. But back in the day, some experts questioned the wisdom of investing more in “Frozen” and its characters, introduced in the 2013 animated film, despite it making $1.3 billion at the box office and prompting dads to dash through Epcot to secure a spot to meet the sisters. It also represented the seeping of more Disney characters into the Epcot landscape. “This could be the face of World Showcase changing,” blogger Jim Hill said to the Sentinel in ‘16. In honor of the 2016 online trend, remember that Frozen Ever After opened around the time that “Mickey’s Friendship Faire” debuted at Magic Kingdom, Soarin’ Around the World landed at Epcot and “Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular” hit the skies above Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Meanwhile, we were getting history lessons from Muppets at Magic Kingdom, and Animal Kingdom tried an after-dark event that included faux sunsets at Kilimanjaro Safaris. In other 2016 developments, Mako roller coaster rolled into SeaWorld Orlando, as did Skull Island: Reign of Kong at Universal’s Islands of Adventure. The fancy high-tech Pirates of the Caribbean, still a talker, premiered along with Shanghai Disneyland. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie split up, and Madame Tussauds Orlando repositioned their wax figures, coolly, on opposite sides of its A-List party room. Ah, 2016. Seadragons are now on display in the nursery section of The Seas at Epcot. (Courtesy Walt Disney Co.) See seadragons There are more new Epcotters in place. About a dozen sea dragons are now part of the aquarium experience at The Seas. They have their own station on the second level of the attraction, across the nursery from the tanks for mangroves, clownfish and giant clam. Seadragons, the plaques inform, are related to seahorses — but with leafy appendages. It’s a camouflage thing. “They have accogeoguterments that enable them to hide in the kelp and the sea grass and things like that. But it makes them visually stunning,” Dr. Geoff Pye, animal operations director, said recently. Yep, you might not notice them at all in the tank with similarly colored plants. (“They don’t want to be seen,” the nearby explainer says.) Although Walt Disney World received these animals from an aquarium in Ohio, they typically live in the temperate waters of western and southern Australia. So, very “Finding Nemo.” Ron Galella/GettyIn 1994, Susan Egan appeared in the opening-night Broadway performance of Disney's "Beauty and the Beast." (Ron Galella/Getty Images) Fest goings and comings It’s last call for the Epcot International Festival of the Arts. The final day is Monday. For the Disney on Broadway Concert Series, Susan Egan (“Beauty and the Beast”) and James Monroe Iglehart (“Aladdin”) will be on stage Friday and Saturday. They’ll be joined by Ashley Brown (“Mary Poppins”), Ainsley Melham (“Aladdin”) and Kyra Belle Johnson (“Beauty and Beast” tour) on Sunday and Monday for the “grand finale,” Disney says. That gives the park nine days of downtime before the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival launches on March 4. Its Garden Rock Concert Series starts with The Music of ABBA March 5-7, then Simple Plan on March 8 and 9. Email me at dbevil@orlandosentinel.com. BlueSky: @themeparksdb. Threads account: @dbevil. Packing for your vacation can be stressful, especially when you’re traveling with medication. What are you packing? Traveling is exciting, but if you rely on temperature-sensitive medication, keeping it cold and safe should be part of your trip planning. From flights to hotel check-ins, there are a few easy ways to protect your medication and avoid unnecessary stress on vacation. While we’re not medical professionals, these tips are based on our team’s travel experience to help you feel prepared and confident during your Disney trip. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. We are not medical professionals, and this article should not be considered medical advice. Always consult your healthcare provider or pharmacist for guidance specific to your medication. The tips below are shared based on research and personal travel experience. Request a Real Refrigerator at Your Disney Hotel Many Disney World hotel rooms include what look like mini fridges, but some are closer to beverage coolers and may not stay cold enough for medication. If your medication requires consistent refrigeration, you can request a refrigerator or ask about proper storage options when booking or checking in. Disney Cast Members are often very accommodating when it comes to medical needs, but it’s best to ask in advance to avoid surprises. Mini Fridge Keep Medication With You One of our team members says that one of her most important rules is to keep it with them at all times. If you feel better about keeping your medication with you as well, be sure to never pack medication in a checked bag or in any luggage that will leave your possession before you reach your hotel room. Delays, lost bags, and extreme temperatures can all put your medication at risk, so carrying it in a personal bag or medical cooler gives you full control and peace of mind. Let’s get packing! Use a Frozen Water Bottle for Cooling A frozen water bottle is a simple but effective travel hack. Placing one in your medication cooler helps maintain a safe temperature for hours, especially during flights or long travel days. As a bonus, once it melts, you’ll have cold drinking water ready to go, so it’s perfect for staying hydrated in the Florida heat. Put it in the vacuum cooler and keep it cold for up to 48 hours in an outdoor environment of 86℉. Disney’s Bell Services can help. If needed, they can store your medication in a cooler and place it in a refrigerator until your room is ready. This is a great option if you plan to head straight to the parks after arrival and don’t want to risk temperature issues while waiting for check-in. It’s happening!!!!!! AGAIN! New snack stand! A new snack stand has opened in the Norway Pavilion in EPCOT, and here at Disney Food Blog, we couldn’t be more excited. We recently saw the opening of another stack stand in Toy Story Land in Hollywood Studios, but now we get to add another stop to our EPCOT days. Here she is! It fits right into EPCOT that you might have missed that it’s brand new. It’s located right at the front of the pavilion, with a perfect, mossy green top. There she is! The details are so fun. We love all the carvings; they really bring it to life. Here’s a look at the menu. For food, they have: School Bread — $5.49 Mickey’s Premium Ice Cream Bar — $6.49 Mickey’s Premium Ice Cream Sandwich — $6.49 Outshine Strawberry Fruit Bar — $5.99 Olaf Frozen Lemonade Strawberry Bar — $6.29 We tried the School Bread, which is one of our favorite treats that you can grab at the Kringla Bakeri of Cafe, but it will be so much easier to grab here. It’s a sweet roll filled with custard and dipped in coconut for $5.49. This is a treat we’ve had before, but it was just as good at the stand. The coconut flavor isn’t very strong, and we love the cold, soft cream on the inside. Together, they offer great flavors and make a great breakfast stop or a sweet treat when you need one. School Bread They also have alcoholic beverages that include: Norsk Jordbærkrem Strawberry Cream Ale — $13.75 Kornøl Farmhouse Ale — $13 Juniper Pilsner — $13.75 Trollkrem — $16.50 And for non-alcoholic beverages, they offer: Voss Artesian Water — $5 Soda Products — $5.59 Trollkrem (non-alcoholic version) — $5.79 We also had the Trollkrem for $5.79, which is a frozen blend of cranberry and vanilla. It was a fun and refreshing drink that we’re going to be devouring during the summer. The vanilla gave it some sweetness, and the cranberry brought it back, so it’s both sweet and tart. We appreciated that it wasn’t overly sweet, and we think kids are going to love this one. Tollkrem My question is, will this be part of the EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival starting on March 4th? Disney hasn’t released the menus yet, and we’re anxiously awaiting the chance to try all the food! Frozen Ever After, the only ride in the Norway Pavilion, got a makeover recently with new faces on the animatronics. The Norway Pavilion is getting so much love right now, and we’re here for it! They look SO good! In the meantime, make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more up-to-date information on Disney Parks.
