  2. Last night, two teams entered, but only one team left victorious at a little game called the Super Bowl. While the nation watched the 54th year of this contest and chowed down on chips and dip, the Kansas City Chiefs took the win over the San Francisco 49ers. ©Cliff Hawkins/Getty Images What do Super Bowl winners do? They go to Disney World, of course. The words that have become quote famous were shouted by the quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs, Patrick Mahomes, but he’s not the only one going to the Most Magical Place on Earth. For the first time ever, Disney will offer a seat in the celebratory parade at the Magic Kingdom to a child from the Make-A-Wish Foundation, 10-year old Nathaniel from Texas. Nathaniel’s going to Disney World! Disney has also invited 17 other children whose wishes were to attend the Super Bowl to the park to keep the magic going. If that wasn’t enough, Disney even donated a million dollars to the Make-A-Wish Foundation in honor of Patrick Mahomes’ MVP performance in the game that will go towards fulfilling many more wishes. The parade is happening at Magic Kingdom TODAY! So, be on the lookout for a post about all the fun and magic that will take place. Click here to find out how you can watch the parade from your couch! Ready to make some Asian cuisine for your family? Then, let’s dive into the Bao recipe! To begin, mix flour with yeast in a mixing bowl. Add water to the combination and knead thoroughly until a solid dough ball forms. Bao Tutorial ©Disney All that kneading was hard work! Take some much needed time for yourself and chill out, giving the dough enough time to rise. Bao Tutorial ©Disney Next, cook a pork mixture in a sizzling pan. Combine the cooked pork with raw pork, cabbage, carrots, onions… Bao Tutorial ©Disney …ginger, olive oil, and pepper… Bao Tutorial ©Disney …and any other ingredients of your choice! Bao Tutorial ©Disney Setting your filling mixture aside, take your dough mound out and roll it into a long rope. It’s fun to make these dough rings! They kind of look like doughnuts! 7. Patrick Mahomes had himself a night. The star quarterback led the Kansas City Chiefs to a thrilling 31-20 victory in Super Bowl LIV and was named the big game’s MVP while bringing the first NFL championship to Kansas City in 50 years. And how did he cap off his momentous achievement? By shouting “I’m going to Disney World!” Those famous words by Mahomes will be part of Disney’s iconic Super Bowl TV commercial airing nationally this week. He joins a star-studded list of Super Bowl heroes who have appeared in the popular Disney commercial after the Super Bowl – a commercial that’s been a tradition for more than 30 years. Mahomes will arrive Monday at Walt Disney World Resort for a magical day of fun and celebration, including an afternoon parade at Magic Kingdom Park surrounded by adoring fans. You can watch the parade right here on the Disney Parks Blog, as our special livestream will begin at approximately 2:40 p.m. ET. For the first time, we are inviting a Make-A-Wish child – 10-year-old Nathaniel from Texas – to ride in the celebratory parade, too, plus experience some popular Disney attractions and have a day of fun. In addition, 17 other Make-A-Wish children, whose wishes were to attend the Super Bowl, are also extending their magical wishes by visiting Magic Kingdom Park on Monday. And to make even more magical wishes come true in the future, Disney Parks is donating $1 million to Make-A-Wish in honor of Mahomes’ MVP performance. It’s all part of Disney’s commitment to deliver comfort and inspiration to children facing serious illnesses – a mission we have shared with Make-A-Wish for nearly 40 years. Currently, Disney helps grant more than 10,000 wishes each year. With all the excitement in the air following the Super Bowl, Monday promises to keep the good times rolling. 8. It’s Lunar New Year time, and that means we’re celebrating the Year of the Rat (er, Mouse)! BoardWalk Joe’s And, in Chinese culture, the Mandarin orange just happens to represent good fortune and prosperity. So, that’s why we’re feeling extra excited to try the newest drink at the BoardWalk! The Mandarin Kiss is definitely making us pucker our lips at BoardWalk Joe’s (but we don’t mind!). BoardWalk Joe’s Sign The new drink is mixed up with Absolut Mandarin Vodka, Cointreau, cranberry and lime juice, and club soda with an orange slice to garnish. Mandarin Kiss If you’re looking for a kick of tangy flavor, the Mandarin Kiss seriously packs a punch. The citrus flavors come through more than the cranberry juice, but the soda balances them all. While it might have a bit of tartness, the Mandarin Kiss is SUPER refreshing after a long stroll on the BoardWalk! Tart, Refreshing, and Delicious! While you can get the drink at BoardWalk Joe’s, you can also head over to Belle Vue to grab it too (double the drink, double the fun)! You can get the Mandarin Kiss for $14 (and a glow cube to light up those pretty pink colors for $3 extra). Mandarin Kiss And, you can subscribe to our newsletter to check out all the other awesome drinks we find around the parks! Have you spotted the Mandarin Kiss at the BoardWalk Inn Resort yet? 10. The Fairy Godmother has been creating all kinds of treats around Disney World for Cinderella‘s 70th anniversary! ©Disney While we’ve been snacking on the Cinderella Ice Cream, Cake Pop, and so much MORE, there’s another cupcake making its way into the Disney kingdom! Cinderella’s iconic color is blue (and lots of it), sooo we love the fact that the new Cinderella Cupcake at Kona Cafe in Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort has a colorful surprise on the inside! Kona Cafe Bakery Case The latest seasonal cupcake is made of yellow cake topped with vanilla buttercream, sugar crystals, and a white chocolate glass slipper. But, the best part about the Cinderella Cupcake… Cinderella Cupcake …just happens to be the WHOLE BLUEBERRIES (!!!) in the middle! The burst of flavor from the berries makes the already super moist cake even better. We almost wish there had been more blueberries suspended throughout it because they were just that good! Blueberry Filling! The frosting on the top, though, doesn’t make the treat as magical as it could be. The buttercream has an almost freezer-burnt taste to it that wasn’t the most palatable (sad face). We’re hoping we caught these at an off time and that others have better luck! The sweet crunch from the sugar crystals was a nice touch to the frosting, though. And man, oh man, is that frosting on top BLUE! We think that a blueberry frosting on top could have really made the cupcake stand out, like Cinderella at the ball! Cinderella Cupcake Even though we liked the Cindy cupcake at Port Orleans better, you can find the new Cinderella Cupcake at the Polynesian Resort for $5.99 or a Disney Dining Plan snack credit if you’re all about that Cinderella 70th anniversary snack crawl. And, you can keep up with all the other Cindy treats we find around Disney World by subscribing to our newsletter! What’s your favorite Cinderella 70th anniversary dessert? Cinderella’s Castle Looking Very Romantic While we’ve given you the deets on the Rose Cake Pop, Heart Poppin’ Punch, and Valentine’s Day menus, we’ve spotted the perfect treat to start your day off right this holiday season! The Valentine’s Day Donut at Kona Cafe is making us even more excited to share the love with our family and friends! Kona Cafe Bakery Case The good ole’ glazed donut is topped with edible glitter, pink icing, and festive heart sprinkles (we need these sprinkles on all our desserts ASAP). Valentine’s Day Donut Since we love glazed donuts, this Valentine’s Day treat knows the way to our hearts! The soft donut goes wonderfully with the sweet icing and crunchy sprinkles. It might be simple, but it sure is tasty! Anybody want to get us a whole box of these bbs for the holiday?? You Can’t Go Wrong with a Glazed Donut! You can grab the Valentine’s Day Donut at Kona Island at the Polynesian Village Resort for $1.99 or a Disney Dining Plan snack credit. Maybe you can take your special someone there to grab one too? 13. Grab your maschere (that’s “masks” in Italian!), it’s time for Carnevale in Disney Springs! Carnevale! A few days ago, we took a peek at the menu for the month of Carnevale at Maria & Enzo’s Ristorante in Disney Springs. This year, the celebrations of this iconic Venetian holiday are taking place in the evenings from now to February 29th. Of course, a huge aspect of Carnevale (besides the costumes and parties!) is the FOOD! So, you know we had to be there to check out what Maria & Enzo’s is serving up for the festival this year! Here’s our REVIEW of our evening at Maria & Enzo’s Carnevale Celebration! Maria & Enzo’s Ristorante is located in Disney Springs and serves up a variety of Sicilian-inspired eats. The theme of the restaurant suggests that you’re dining in an abandoned airport terminal (how neat!). Where better to celebrate the traditional Italian party festival of Carnevale? Atmosphere We love the theming and space at Maria & Enzo’s, but this month Carnevale is giving the restaurant a special kick. Carnevale 2020 There was entertainment galore, including a roaming violinist to set the mood. He was seriously talented and even took requests! Roaming musician There was also a balloon animal artist! Balloon Animal Artist Of course, you must dress the part for a Carnevale! Masks and beads were handed out to guests upon arrival. Masks and Beads! There was also a station featuring hand-painted masks. We even had the opportunity to request a mask color! How cool?! Hand-painted Masks Eats As we mentioned, there’s a special menu just for the Carnevale celebrations. Being it’s a celebration! We had to kick off the evening with some Carnevale drink specials. Carnevale Drink Specials The King Carnival featured Ketel One Vodka, pomegranate juice, Rosa Regale, lemon juice, and was topped with a sprig of rosemary. This was heavy on the pomegranate flavor but very refreshing. We couldn’t really taste the booze so be careful or it might sneak up on ya! King Carnival The Red Mask featured Maker’s Mark Whiskey, fresh strawberry puree, pineapple juice, simple syrup, lemon juice, and a pineapple wedge. This one packed a punch! It was heavy on the whiskey and reminded us of an old fashioned but with a fruity flair. Red Mask The Fire Dancer featured Leblon Cachaca (a spirit popular in Brazil), lime juice, simple syrup, muddled jalapeños, and a jalapeño slice for garnish. This was hands down our favorite cocktail of the evening. We loved the zest from the citrus and thought it worked very well with the subtle heat from the jalapeños. Fire Dancer Now it’s on to the eats! Carnevale Menu 2020 No matter what you plan on ordering, your meal will start off with Pinzimonio (an Italian Crudite) and Giardiniera Cremosa. Crudite’ A nice Ciabatta bread course is definitely the way to our hearts and this one didn’t disappoint! Bread We were also treated to their Homemade Sfincione Focaccia. Homemade Sfincione Focaccia For our Antipasti Course, we went with the Caesar Salad. We absolutely loved the dressing on this one. While nothing original about it, this was a very good salad to start the meal off with. Caesar salad We also selected the Arancini. These were great and oozed with cheese when you cut into them. Arancini Just look at all that cheesy goodness! Arancini The Pasta Course featured a selection of 6 options, including their signature Lasagne Bolognese. Carnevale Menu We opted to try the Torchio Al Pollo. This dish featured spiral-shaped pasta, roasted chicken ragu, toasted garlic, and a parmesan cream sauce. This was fantastic and one of our favorite dishes of the evening. It was creamy and rich while not being aggressively heavy. Torchio Al Pollo We also tried the Ravioli Al Tre Formaggi. This dish had Parmigiano-Reggiano, smoked pecorino, fresh ricotta, tomato sauce, toasted garlic, and almond pesto. We enjoyed the pesto but overall this wasn’t anything special. Ravioli Al Tre Formaggi Now it’s on to the Secondi Course! The entree course is accompanied by something extra just for this event. To be specific, we got a taste of Mamma Maria’s Mini-Meatballs. The meatballs themselves were tender and moist, but we found the sauce to be a tad on the watery side. Meatballs For entrees, we tried the party exclusive Costina Di Manzo. These were Braised Angus Beef Short Ribs with creamy mascarpone polenta, oyster mushrooms, and a broccoli rabe gremolata. Short Ribs They hit a home run with this one! The short ribs were extremely tender and the accompanying polenta was so good we could gladly eat an entire bowl of it! Short Ribs And to top off your meal, your evening includes a complimentary dessert of Bugie e Chiacchiere (basically a fried sweet pastry). You really can’t go wrong with fried dough and powdered sugar! They also threw a little salt on there that balanced out the flavors. Free Dessert! You will also have the option to order something off of the Dessert Menu. Dessert Menu We had to try the Chocolate Ganache with toasted marshmallow meringue and orange caramel. This was super rich but surprisingly fabulous. So good, in fact, that we couldn’t stop eating it (even though we were SO full by this point)! The orange did a nice job of balancing this dish out and we loved the marshmallow. Chocolate Ganache For those who prefer to drink their desserts, we also tried the Nutella Martini. This cocktail featured Grey Goose, Nutella, Frangelico, Irish cream, and a Nutella and Amaretti crumb rim. That’s right…a NUTELLA RIM! The drink was delicious and obviously on the sweet side, but not over the top. You could definitely taste the booze! Nutella Martini Overall It was a really fun night! While they didn’t have live performers like last year, we had fun with the entertainment that was there. We’d say the food was good overall with a few standouts! Carnevale at Maria & Enzo’s is happening nightly from 5:00 to 10:00 PM now through February 29. Click here to check out how Carnevale at Maria & Enzo’s measured up last year! 14. Cinderella is turning 70 this year, and we’re celebrating with ALL the treats around Disney World! ©Disney While we’ve already tried desserts like the Cinderella 70th Anniversary Cake Pop, the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo Cake, annnd the Cinderella 70th Anniversary Ice Cream treat, we’re now taking a carriage ride (AKA the Monorail) over to the Contemporary Resort for something new! Put Cinderella and pumpkins together, and what have you got? The Cinderella Cupcake has made a STUNNING arrival at the Contempo Cafe! Contempo Cafe Bakery Case The yellow cake is filled with pumpkin custard and topped with buttercream, a white chocolate slipper, and a fondant pumpkin. Can we just say that this cupcake is one of the CUTEST things we’ve seen (just look at the dress ruffles around all around it)?! Cinderella Cupcake Buuut, while the best part about the Cinderella Cupcake is the aesthetic, the cupcake itself isn’t our favorite Cinderella 70th anniversary treat that we’ve had in Disney World so far. The cake is a little too dense, while the frosting doesn’t have much of a flavor at all. So, basically, it is just a LOT of bland mile-high buttercream that didn’t do too much for the cupcake, which is a total bummer since this thing is adorbs. Cinderella Cupcake The pumpkin custard inside, though, is AH-MAZING and tastes just like a pumpkin pie. We could honestly eat an entire bowl of the custard itself (sounds like a pretty awesome night to us). We wish there had been more in the Cinderella Cupcake since it would have balanced out the frosting! Pumpkin Custard Filling If you’re looking for a way to celebrate Cinderella’s anniversary, there are so many other treats to try around Disney World that you might like better. Buuut, if you want an AWESOME Insta photo with this Cinderella Cupcake (who doesn’t??), you can get it for $5.99 or a Disney Dining Plan snack credit. And, you can subscribe to our newsletter to keep up with the rest of the anniversary desserts we find around the parks! Have you tried the Cinderella Cupcake at the Contemporary Resort yet? 17. Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run and Rise of the Resistance are both finally open in Disney World’s Galaxy’s Edge. Star Wars Hotel — Halcyon Starcruiser But, the Star Wars grind doesn’t stop, my friends! With the attractions up and running, the new Star Wars hotel is getting some extra TLC with its construction progress. And, today, we’re giving you a sneak peek and telling you everything you need to know about the latest intergalactic destination resort!! Back at the D23 Expo in 2019, it was announced that the Star Wars hotel would be aptly named the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser (we’ve got our lightsabers ready to go). When the resort opens in 2021 for Disney World’s 50th anniversary, guests will be able to take a 2-night journey through their own Star Wars story on the Halcyon. Star Wars Hotel Concept Art ©Disney The experience on the Starcruiser (since it’s not really a “hotel” at all — here’s why) will allow guests to stay in their own “well-appointed cabins, experience onboard dining, make a planet-side excursion to Black Spire Outpost on Batuu, and more.” Transport Vehicle to Batuu ©Disney Um, yeah… It sounds pretty awesome, right?? And, although we have to wait another year to either join the Rebels or the First Order to complete our missions on the Galactic Starcruiser, the construction on the resort is definitely in full swing in Disney World! And you can easily see it as you’re driving by! Galactic Starcruiser Construction When you first enter the hotel, you’ll check-in at the Galactic Starcruiser Terminal… How soon will we be able to start our galactic adventures?? …which will place you into a Launch Pod that will transport you into space to the Halcyon. Launch Pod! Launch Pod to the Starcruiser During your stay aboard the spaceship, you’ll have the opportunities to train with a lightsaber, interact with your favorite characters, operate the ship’s defense systems, check out a view of space from your cabin, and even dine at places like the Silver C Lounge! Star Wars Hotel cabin Star Wars Resort Concept Art Lounge But the feel of this resort will be a lot more…enclosed…than most. Think v. interactive, boutique experience here — like a murder mystery party on a galactic, Star Wars scale — versus a resort where you toss your bags and head out to ride your fastpass rides. And, since the experience is uniquely formed to each guest’s story, it seems like the hotel itself is being built as something a lot more intimate. The smaller area of construction is just on the back side of Galaxy’s Edge in a limited area of land. Smaller footprint = fewer people = more customized, interactive experience. Galactic Starcruiser Construction While we are SUPER excited to be able to become a part of our own Star Wars story, it’s important to note that this hotel will likely be all-inclusive — like a cruise ship. Once you check in, you’re part of the story. And while you can choose how invested you want to be with that story, the general experience isn’t meant to include popping off to Magic Kingdom to see the fireworks. When you’re here, you’re Star Wars. Still, this experience is going to be one of the most incredible things that Disney has ever created, whether you’re a Star Wars fan or not. Although you can sign up for more information on the Galactic Starcruiser page, you can also subscribe to our newsletter for all the new details on the Star Wars hotel! Anybody else hoping that Baby Yoda will make an appearance on the Halcyon?? Will you be staying on the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser when it opens next year? Let us know in the comments below! 18. We’re ALL about exploration in Disney World! Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant And, we’re going for an out-of-this-world trip to the Disney Parks for a super sweet surprise today at Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater in Disney’s Hollywood Studios! This is why we LOVE Disney World — little things like this are what it’s all about. Today, there’s an adorable tribute happening that’s unique and exclusive to this imagineering marvel of a restaurant. Let me give you a little background on why this is so fun. You see, Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater is themed after the drive-in theaters of the 1950s…and it’s all indoors! Sci-Fi Dine-In Sci-Fi Screen But the fun part is that, as you dine, you get to watch clips of cute, old B-movies, cartoons, and advertisements — Attack of the 50 Foot Woman, Missile to the Moon, Teenagers From Outer Space…you get the idea. Sci-Fi Billboard Sci-Fi Screen And one of those cartoons, anticipating a blastoff to Mars in the far-off future, portrays TODAY — February 2, 2020 — as the LAUNCH DATE! Blast Off Date! The cast members at Sci-Fi wanted to commemorate this date that they knew was quickly approaching, and you KNOW they’re celebrating in galactic style! Guests of the restaurant will receive their own launch tickets for Mars as well as the opportunity to order a specialty dessert to commemorate their mission! Launching TODAY And the Mars Bar Candy Bar is EPIC. Vanilla shortbread crust is piled high with chocolate mousse and salted caramel mousse, and the whole thing is topped with more chocolate! On the side is a caramel gelato with raspberry sauce. Bonus — you get a specialty white chocolate disk letting you know today’s the DAY!! Mars Bar Candy Bar Dessert By the way, if you don’t want to get the specialty dessert, you can also order any of Sci-Fi’s shakes and get this fun little disk as well. Red Velvet Shake with Commemorative Disk Again, it’s these special little touches that make me love Disney World even more. This wasn’t advertised. Nobody would have known about it going in. But it makes for a very special day, and a fun magical moment for the people who get to dine here today. It makes a huge, corporate theme park feel a little less contrived and a little more homegrown. The cast members are having a blast (see what I did there), the guests are having a blast, and it’s a memory nobody anticipated that will be held dear. Love it. Kudos, Sci-Fi. 22. It’s the first of the month in Disneyland, and you know what that means… Craftsman Grill Sign It’s time for a NEW Hot Dog of the Month at Craftsman Grill in the Grand Californian Hotel! And, we are getting some major nostalgia from February’s stand-out ‘dog. Did your family ever make homemade pigs in a blanket, and your kitchen just smelled SO GOOD?? The “All Wrapped Up” Hot Dog is channeling those vibes as February’s Hot Dog of the Month! Hot Dog of the Month Sign The hot dog is wrapped in a golden dough that’s coated in herbs and cheese (!!!) and served with a side of crinkle fries and a roasted red bell pepper spread. All Wrapped Up Hot Dog While the hot dog is your typical Disney ‘dog, the pastry is the real star of the show. The dough is warm and fluffy, which practically melts in your mouth with every bite. And, the herbs and cheese are perfectly sprinkled over the top, making the flavors of the hot dog stand out even more! All Wrapped Up Hot Dog The dough also holds together super well when you dip it in the roasted red bell pepper spread (making the hot dog stay “all wrapped up,” bum dum dsshh). The spiciness from the spread adds a nice kick to the simple but tasty flavors of the hot dog. And, it’s a great dipping sauce for those fries!! The BEST Red Pepper Sauce You can grab the “All Wrapped Up” Hot Dog for $10.50 at Craftsman Grill throughout the month of February! Hey, and maybe treat your parents this time around for all those pigs in a blanket growing up! ;D Have you tried the new Hot Dog of the Month yet? Let us know in the comments below! 24. A dream is a wish your heart makes… ©Disney …and we’ve been wishing for the Cinderella Cupcake since we shared its debut with you! And, now we’re taking you with us to the ball — er, bakery — to try the adorable new anniversary dessert! Grab your ball gowns, glass slippers, and BOMB magical transportation because the Cinderella Cupcake is the belle of the ball at Riverside Food Mill! And, thanks to our friends @yellowbeadsandme, we’re able to give you all the details on the newest treat! Cinderella Cupcake The yellow cake is filled with strawberry and marshmallow fluff and topped with pink and light blue buttercream frosting. Plus, there’s a glittery white chocolate glass slipper and crispy pearls. Cinderella Cupcake Just like Cinderella’s iconic dress, this cake is super light and fluffy. Buuut, the mile-high amount of frosting on top balances the dessert! Our favorite part, though is the wonderfully sweet (and slightly fruity) strawberry and marshmallow fluff filling. Strawberry and Marshmallow Fluff While the flavors were pretty standard and we weren’t blown away by the cupcake itself, we do love how adorable and detailed it is and we can’t wait to snap dozens of pictures with it! You can celebrate Cinderella‘s anniversary with the Cinderella Cupcake for $5.99 at Port Orleans Riverside. Have you spotted the Cinderella Cupcake yet? Let us know in the comments below! 25. We often find ourselves down at The Polite Pig in Disney Springs when looking for some yummy BBQ and drinks. The Polite Pig The location opened up back in 2017 and even though this fast-casual spot hasn’t been around for very long, they’ve just updated one of their classic offerings! Remember THIS big fella? This is the old version of the Salt Hop Pretzel you could previously order at The Polite Pig! Well, it’s looking a little different these days… Hop Salt Pretzel (Old Version) Here’s a look at the newer model we just got today! Even though it looks thicker to us than the former Hop Salt Pretzel, it definitely seems smaller and thicker. Hop Salt Pretzel (New Version) We’re not really sure why The Polite Pig decided to change up their Salt Hop Pretzel! We just kept our fingers crossed in hopes that it would taste as good as its predecessor! Salt Hop Pretzel (New Version) And we’re happy to tell ya, it’s equally yummy! In fact, for us, it even felt softer than the former version. It comes with the same two sauces, so if you were a big fan of the Beer Fondue cheese sauce and the grainy IPA Mustard, you’ll be excited to know they’re still along for the ride! Salt Hop Pretzel (New Version) Check out the newest version of the Salt Hop Pretzel on your next trip to Disney Springs and see what else has been happening at Disney Springs this week HERE! Do you enjoy eating at The Polite Pig? Tell us what you like to order in the comments below!
