The Fairy Godmother is at it again! Cinderella’s Carriage And this time, she’s taken her wand to the bakery case at Amorette’s Patisserie in Disney Springs, where Cinderella’s Carriage has joined the lineup of treats in Walt Disney World celebrating the 70th Anniversary of the animated film, Cinderella. Cinderella’s Carriage As with all the treats at Amorette’s, it’s a lovely little work of art featuring the signature blue of Cinderella’s gown and touches of silver candy pieces. Cinderella’s Carriage Forming the “carriage” underneath is a vanilla chiffon cake base topped with a dome of strawberry mousse and filled with a strawberry champagne center. Cinderella’s Carriage You’ll also find a little surprise of pink candy pearls tucked inside as well. Cinderella’s Carriage The flavor profile hits all the right notes, with sweet bursts of pronounced strawberry flavor in every bite! It’s the textures, though, that we want to emphasize here, so you know exactly what you’re getting… Though “cake” is the first thing you’ll read in the item’s description, that layer of vanilla chiffon plays second fiddle to the thick layer of strawberry mousse and the gelatinous strawberry champagne center. The emphasis is totally on the jiggly mousse… and hmmm… where else have we seen that recently? Main Street Bakery Case Oh, that’s right! The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo Cake-That’s-Not-a-Cake-It’s-Actually-A-Mousse in Magic Kingdom’s Main Street Bakery. Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo Cake at Main Street Bakery For what it is, though — and again, it’s definitely NOT a cake — Cinderella’s Carriage at Amorette’s Patisserie is well-executed. But it’s not something your kids are gonna love and since this one has a higher price tag of $9.00, you’ll probably want to opt towards a more sure bet. And THAT’S where our list comes in! Hollywood Studios just updated its FastPass tiers a little over a week ago, but NOW — they’ve gone and done it AGAIN! Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway Sign That’s because starting today, you can now reserve your FastPasses for Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway for when it opens next month! Earlier this morning, FastPasses for Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway became available for dates starting March 4th, 2020 — the new attraction’s opening day! And like we were guessing, it’s a Tier One FastPass joining the ranks of Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and Toy Story Land’s Slinky Dog Dash! ©Disney This means you’ll now face an even more difficult decision for your next Disney World vacation — while last week you had to decide between making FastPasses for Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run or Slinky Dog Dash, now it’s even tougher with Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway all up in the mix! Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disney World Which FastPass should you choose — Smugglers Run or Slinky Dog Dash? If you were originally planning on spending only one day of your vacation at Hollywood Studios — you might want to consider adding a second day to score an additional top tier FastPass! But remember, if you use all three of your FastPasses, you can pop back on to My Disney Experience to snag another one. And you never know, you may get lucky and might be able to get another Tier One FastPass. Howdy from Slinky Dog! Little did we realize when City Works Eatery and Pour House in Disney Springs opened (which is later THIS afternoon!), we’d get the chance to dine with music royalty! Artist’s Rendition of Jon Bun Jovi Well, sorta…you’ll see what we mean in a sec! While we were expecting this new ultimate sports bar in Disney World to serve American-style eats with a twist — we WEREN’T thinking along the lines of Twisted Sister — until now! City Works standard menu offerings include BBQ Smoked Ribs, Burgers, Tacos and Bar Bites to list off just a few — all with pretty vanilla-sounding names… City Works Menu But on Saturdays and Sundays until 3 PM City Works is turning the dial-up all the way to 11 for their Rock N Roll Brunch! Here’ where you can hobnob and brush shoulders with some Rock gods in ways like you’ve never seen them before! Take, for instance, Jon Bun Jovi, a warm jumbo cinnamon roll with vanilla icing! After all, Jon Bon Jovi is one totally sweet dude! We seriously can’t wait to try this thing out. We only hope it looks as cool as it sounds!! Bar Riva at the Riviera Resort has quickly become one of our favorite pool bars in Disney World! We enjoy coming in here for a little toast of sangria or two, and their Baked Brie totally stole a piece of our hearts! Bar Riva | Photo Courtesy @carlyewisel But if you were nervous about taking your kids with you because they wouldn’t enjoy it, don’t worry. They recently added some new menu items for the kiddos to snack on. Your kids can have a blast creating their own meal at Bar Riva now. The kids’ menu here started very small but it just expanded to include a wider range of options. There are the usual kids’ menu standards, like a Cheeseburger and Fried Chicken Strips, but there are also some others, like the Sautéed Shrimp, for more adventurous eaters. Some of my favorite Disney memories have taken place on Main Street, U.S.A. From “walking right down the middle of Main Street, U.S.A.” with my family for our photo with the Dapper Dans to seeing little ones going for their first haircut at Harmony Barber Shop, these are moments that will stay with me forever. Our cast members help create these special memories for guests each and every day, and I love when we get the opportunity to create magical moments for our cast members, too. As thousands of fans lined up in Magic Kingdom Park to cheer on their favorite team and player during the Super Bowl celebration parade down Main Street, U.S.A. earlier this week, we surprised five cast members with the experience of a lifetime. Based on their love and support of the Kansas City Chiefs, these cast member super fans were surprised with a photo moment with Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes. “This moment meant the world to me,” said cast member Nellie Hundshamer. “Having just moved here from Kansas City to pursue my dream at Walt Disney World, I was overcome with emotion seeing my KC community in my new backyard! And when I found out we were going to be meeting Patrick Mahomes, I was so shocked I didn’t know what to say. I had to pinch myself! He represents all the good in Kansas City, so I was honored to have the chance to shake his hand.” This special moment included another sprinkle of pixie dust as the cast members were treated to parade viewing with Disney Parks, Experiences and Products Chairman Bob Chapek and Walt Disney World President Josh D’Amaro. “It was so fun to see Chiefs fans lining Main Street, U.S.A.,” said Cast Member Danielle Bacuyag. “You could feel the excitement and just pure joy radiating from everyone there! I got goosebumps once the music started and you could see the parade float rounding the bend into the Castle Hub. Disney does parades like no one else!” One of the best parts of #DisneyCastLife is creating magic for our cast and guests, and this is a moment our cast member super fans will remember for a long time. “Coming to work for Disney has been an amazing experience,” said cast member Lexi Riddle. “I still have a lot of love for my hometown, and getting to participate in the parade brought everything full circle. In our Disney Doodles series, our Disney artists take turns imagining what different Disney characters would do or see first if they had the chance to visit a Disney Park. Uva Bar While we’ve already given you the inside scoop on the February Flavors at Sprinkles (we’ve been eyeing that Bananas Foster Cupcake), this month is about to get A LOT better with a new burger! You might want to head over to the UVA Bar ’cause the Holy Mole Burger will be around for the month of February only! Sharing a frosted treat with actor John Ratzenberger at Pixar Pier was 12-year-old Spencer’s greatest wish. On Jan. 28, Make-A-Wish and the Disneyland Resort made that wish come true. When asked why he wanted to meet Ratzenberger, Spencer said, “He’s my hero. He’s funny and he sounds like such a nice guy. He’s in every Pixar movie and I love that. I feel happy when I watch him.” Spencer visited the resort with his family from Maryland on Jan. 28. He brought one of his favorite plush toys along for the fun, which was the Abominable Snowman from Disney and Pixar’s “Monsters Inc.,” Spencer’s favorite character who is voiced by Ratzenberger. Spencer is so happy that his friends from Make-A-Wish were able to make his wish come true. “I just can’t believe it,” he said. “I sure did enjoy being with him, and he called me a friend. Being his friend is so nice, and it made my heart shine brighter than ever!” In 2019, Disneyland Resort made nearly 700 wishes come true for children with life-threatening medical conditions. The Disney on Broadway Concert Series at the Epcot International Festival of the Arts is the ultimate way to relive your favorite Disney musical memories! Since the festival kicked off on Jan. 17, Broadway stars have delighted thousands of guests with jaw-dropping renditions of Disney on Broadway favorites, including beloved songs from classic Disney films such as “Mary Poppins,” “Aladdin” and “The Lion King.” Liana Hunt, who played Katherine Plumber in “Newsies” and Adam Jacobs, who starred in the title role of the original Broadway production of “Aladdin,” worked together 10 years ago and are thrilled to be reunited as one of the next sets of stars to perform at America Gardens Theater in Epcot.
