Being a D23 member definitely has its perks, both with exclusive access to special Disney events and merch. And members have been reaping the rewards all year long as part of Disney’s “Year of the Mouse” celebration! D23 Gold Membership Each month, Disney has been releasing a NEW limited-edition Mickey Mouse plush. And each month, D23 members get early access to this must-have swag! The September limited-edition Mickey Mouse plush might be our favorite one yet (which is really saying something, considering how amazing these monthly plushes have been!), so now would be a good time to be a D23 member! This month’s plush is — drum roll, please — Disney Animator Mickey Mouse! This artsy fella is 16 inches tall, and made from suede that’s designed to resemble wood. How cool! If we didn’t know any better, we’d think Disney Animator Mickey Mouse was carved by Geppetto himself! Disney Animator Mickey Mouse ©D23 Disney has been outdoing itself with these limited-edition Mickey plushes! The plush is also adorned with drawings of smaller mini-Mickeys on his belly, arms, and ears! There’s a whole lotta Mickey happening, and we’re here for it! Speaking of cool, this wooden pattern was inspired by the wooden drawing desks used to create the original Mickey Mouse shorts by Walt Disney and his animators! If all that wasn’t enough, Disney Animator Mickey Mouse comes with a commemorative gold and satin foot patch, and most importantly, a Certificate of Authenticity. This guy’s legit! As with each of these highly collectible Mickey plushes, this one also comes in a window box illustrated with special “Year of the Mouse” artistry! So now that you know you obviously NEED this, here are the deets: log in to your D23 account bright and early on Monday, September 7. Starting at 9AM PST, D23 members can visit this page for the link to purchase the plush on Amazon! Clearly, this animation-inspired Mickey Mouse plush is a MUST for any Disney collectors out there! And we can’t wait to see what other limited-edition Mickey Mouses Disney has in store! Tune in to D23’s very own podcast here! What do you think of the new Disney Animator Mickey Mouse plush? Since Disney World’s reopening, Labor Day is the first holiday being celebrated in the parks (even though Halloween entertainment, treats, and more have started to pop up!). Disney’s Hollywood Studios on Labor Day Disney Park Pass availability for Labor Day Weekend kept seeing some changes with Saturday and Sunday of this weekend being listed as sold out across the board for ALL guests (note right now VERY limited Passes look like they’re available!). We HAD to take a look at what the first holiday weekend was like back in Disney World! The parks’ capacity has varied throughout the re-opening of Disney World. But, today was the first time we’ve seen all FOUR parks hit their capacity limit. Like we mentioned, Park Passes were totally booked for all four parks for all types of guests, though it appears a bit more availability has opened up (so act fast if you were looking to visit this weekend!). Since we’ve been back in the parks, we’ve seen a trend in Disney World where the parks are way more crowded in the morning. They tend to get quieter as the day goes on with lower wait times and less people in the parks. Hollywood Studios today was no exception! The waits did drop slightly later in the day with Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway going down to 60 minutes, Tower of Terror dropping to 25 minutes, and Toy Story Mania notably dropping to 15 minutes at around 2PM. Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run on Labor Day Weekend We were actually surprised that Labor Day Weekend just felt like a regular day in Hollywood Studios, despite the park hitting its capacity limit. While there were a LOT more guests at first (we were happy to get away from Hollywood Boulevard after entering — that area got pretty packed right at opening!), the crowds still slowed down like we’ve been seeing them do since the re-opening. As Disney encourages guests to visit later in the day, it might be the best choice for your family to come in the afternoon as things slow down so you can avoid some of the longer queues and have a more relaxed pace in the parks! Labor Day Weekend Crowds We’ll continue to give you updates on what the parks look like this Labor Day Weekend. But, in the meantime, let us know any questions you may have about your Disney World vacation so we can find you the answers! Take a look at the updated Disney face masks we found during our visit to Hollywood Studios! Will you be heading to Disney World for Labor Day Weekend? Let us know in the comments below! No disrespect to the stars of the ride, but Chuuby kinda steals the show on Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway. Seriously — this fluffy little bird is the cutest critter we’ve seen since Baby Yoda! Chuuby waves to riders ©Disney Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway And it’s a testament to Chuuby’s irresistible cuteness that new merchandise at Disney’s Hollywood Studios makes us want to cuddle with a keychain. That’s right! These new Chuuby trinkets at Disney World are back in stock! Soft new Chuuby plush toys at Disney’s Hollywood Studios Joining the already adorable lineup of shirts, hats, toys, and collectibles at Disney’s Hollywood Studios (we’re smitten with the Disney Parks Wishables), we spotted a precious new Chuuby plush toy, as well as an adorable Chuuby keychain! Chuuby Plush Toy at Disney’s Hollywood Studios For anyone who has ridden Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, you’ll recognize Chuuby as the cheery little bird from the ride, with orange feathers, yellow beak and feet, the sweetest lil’ eyes, and cheeks you just want to pinch! Want more Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway merch? Click here! And now with this super soft new plush, you CAN squeeze those cheeks! And when you squeeze his belly, Chuuby’s wings move! Squeeze Chuuby and he moves! For more squeezing, the keychain sports a squishy Chuuby with outstretched wings — y’know, so he can flutter alongside you as you drive! Chuuby keychain at Disney’s Hollywood Studios He’s attached to a bright yellow clasp, and a metal token that says “Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway.” The keychain comes with a Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway token Along with the Chuuby MagicBand, Chuuby purse, and the Chuuby phone case, we’d say our Chuuby collection is coming along nicely! We found the Chuuby plush for $26.99, and the Chuuby keychain for $12.99, so fly over to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and snag ‘em! For more Chuuby, explore Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway! We’ve loved all the cute designs we’ve seen of the official Disney Face Masks. More importantly, we’re super excited to see Disney Halloween Face Masks starting to pop up in the parks and online! New Disney Halloween Face Mask at Hollywood Studios But, sadly the initial masks were TINY and made of very thick fabric (which shrunk further when you washed them). So we’re excited to share some BIG news with you today! Some of the Disney Face Masks have recently changed! The first thing we noticed was that the new masks are made with a different fabric. New Fabric sticker on some Disney face masks Instead of regular cotton, they’re now made with what seems like a polyester blend, making them a little thinner than the older masks. New Disney Halloween Face Mask at Hollywood Studios Now they have that shiny, stretchy fabric that seems to have a little more give. VIDEO But the biggest thing we noticed about the new masks is that they are…BIGGER! Almost everyone complained about the old masks because they ran really small (and you can see how to handle that here), but the new masks seem to run larger. New face masks run larger We think the new masks will fit more people MUCH better, and could also be a lot more breathable, especially in the heat of summer. Halloween face masks But one thing to note — we haven’t seen this new fabric and sizing in any of Disney’s face masks besides the Halloween ones so far. It’s our guess that Disney will switch to this new fabric for all upcoming face mask designs, but we’re not sure if the previous designs will be switched over. We’ll keep you updated! How many face masks should you bring on a Disney World trip? What do you think of these face mask changes? Let us know in the comments! Part of why Disney guests love the parks so much is because of the cast members: this group does everything they can to make sure that everyone has the most magical vacation possible. Cast Member at Pizzerizzo Many of Disney’s workers returned to the parks when Walt Disney World reopened this summer. And we learned yesterday that some cast members who have been called back will receive a raise in October. According to the Orlando Hotel and Restaurant Workers Movement Facebook page, as of October 4th, Disney Food & Beverage workers will have their minimum wage raised from $13 to $14 per hour. Those who work in Mousekeeping will get a base pay raise from $15 to $16 per hour. Cast members who make above minimum wage will get a 75 cent raise. Cast Members Cleaning in Galaxy’s Edge But this news is also bittersweet: thousands of these cast members are still furloughed, and many of those work in Food & Beverage and Mousekeeping. Only some of Disney World’s resort hotels are open, with several reopenings now having been delayed. The Polynesian Village Resort reopening was recently pushed back to 2021 for refurbishment, and some resort hotels in Disney World still have no known opening date, which means many Mousekeeping cast members have no idea when or if they’ll be called back. In Food & Beverage, some locations are re-closing for portions of the week due to low demand, and some locations have re-closed altogether. We would like to ask that all guests remember to please be respectful to those cast members currently working. Things are definitely a lot different in the parks right now, and they are working with a situation that constantly keeps changing. Here are the people we’re most worried about at Disney World right now! Have any good cast member stories to share? Let us know in the comments! As part of the 2020 National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) and National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) virtual convention, attendees were treated to a special performance of “Go the Distance.” Disney fans know the song from The Walt Disney Studios’ 1997 animated feature film “Hercules” and its 2019 Public Works stage production. We’re happy to share the performance here as a very special #VoicesFromHome, courtesy of Disney Theatrical Productions. This video features the voice talents of Disney On Broadway stars Jelani Alladin and Krysta Rodriguez (who starred in 2019’s Public Works stage production of “Hercules” in New York’s Central Park), Mandy Gonzalez, Rodney Ingram, Michael James Scott and Syndee Winters. It’s a celebration of these talented performers and all fans of “Hercules.” Enjoy! View the full article

Ever since the movie Up premiered, we’ve wondered what Carl and Russell’s balloon-propelled journey might have been like IRL! ©Disney-Pixar For most of us, snagging some Up-inspired merchandise is probably the closest we’ll get to recreating the flight of Carl, Russell, and Dug. What can we say, we generally prefer our air travel to be FAA-approved! But even though we don’t plan to fly our house to Paradise Falls any time soon, performer David Blaine’s latest stunt is giving us some SERIOUS Up vibes! David Blaine is known for his extreme stunts, but his most recent performance really took things to a new level — literally! Earlier this week, Blaine completed his latest stunt, which he calls “Ascension.” And it turns out, that’s an incredibly fitting title for this performance! On Wednesday morning, Blaine embarked on a flight above the Arizona desert, lifted only by colorful balloons! To be fair, these aren’t the same “standard” balloons that Carl Fredricksen would have acquired for his journey. The latex, helium-filled balloons Blaine used could be deflated or popped remotely, and one “balloon” made of fiberglass held a parachute and oxygen. In other words, don’t try this at home! ©YouTube Blaine reached a height of nearly 25,000 feet (or 4.7 miles!!) before ejecting himself from the balloons and parachuting to the ground. Here’s a look at his incredible flight! Blaine said his flight was actually inspired by the 1956 French film The Red Balloon — but we still think he’d make it as an honorary Wilderness Explorer! Did you watch David Blaine’s balloon flight?? Share your thoughts with us in the comments! Related posts: Get Ready For Your Next Disney Adventure With TONS of NEW ‘Up’ Merchandise! NEWS! It’s Halloweentime at Disney World, and you know what that means: spooky snacks are starting to show up all over the parks! We were really excited to try out one of these snacks today at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe in Magic Kingdom! Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Lounge at Magic Kingdom Okay, so this item isn’t so much a snack as a whole meal. Check out the Mickey Monster Mash burger, which definitely lives up to its name: it is MONSTROUS! Mickey Monster Mash Burger at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe There is SO MUCH going on with this burger! In addition to the bun and burger patty, there’s Meunster cheese, potato barrels (!!!), bacon, and sriracha aïoli. This is very similar to the Muenster Smash Burger we saw at Cosmic Ray’s a few years ago! Mickey Monster Mash Burger at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe But maybe it’s what’s on TOP of the burger that made us smile. Hey, look, it’s Mickey! Mickey Monster Mash Burger, Drink, and Fries from Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe The one thing we loved about this burger the most was the sriracha: we wish there was even more of it so it was even spicier! But it was still pretty good and definitely better than a regular counter service burger. We even liked the barrel rolls on it. And as if this meal didn’t have enough potatoes, we also got fries with our burger because that’s how we roll! Mickey Monster Mash Burger at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe The Mickey Monster Mash Burger is $13.99 and available through Mobile Order at Cosmic Ray’s. We can’t wait to try out more Halloween-inspired snacks (and meals!) at the parks. We’ll be sure to let you know what we find! Find out which Disney snack just got its Halloween makeover! We’ve made it no secret about what many of our favorite Disney World snacks are, and there’s one item that is always close to the top of our list. That snack is the School Bread from the Norway pavilion at EPCOT’s Kringla Bakeri Og. Kringla Bakeri Og in the Norway Pavilion at EPCOT Unfortunately, Kringla Bakeri Og is still closed, even though the parks are open for business. And we’ve really been missing that school bread, let us tell you… But now, it’s back, baby!!! That’s right, cue the angels singing because School Bread has returned to EPCOT! And right now it comes with a cute white chocolate Olaf topper, which we’ve seen before on the Olaf Fall Cheesecake we reviewed last year. School Bread at EPCOT This fluffy sweet roll filled with custard and dipped in coconut is the stuff that our foodie dreams are made of. School Bread at EPCOT We found the School Bread at the cart in front of the Norway Pavilion for $4.25. Things have been changing recently over at Disney’s BoardWalk. Disney’s BoardWalk Just this week, some of its restaurants have been added to Mobile Order, but Disney’s BoardWalk Inn still remains closed with an undefined reopening date. Now, one spot on the BoardWalk has announced that it will be closed indefinitely. Before the closure of the parks and resorts at Disney World, you could visit quite a few places over at Disney’s BoardWalk for some unique entertainment. One fun spot was Jellyrolls Dueling Piano Bar. Jellyrolls at the BoardWalk At this lounge, you could enjoy non-stop dueling pianos. The incredibly talented musicians would play songs from the 70′s, 80′s, and 90′s, and perform dueling piano improv. Jellyrolls musicians on stage Jellyrolls announced in late June that it would be reopening on October 1st. But, today, we got an update. Jellyrolls Orlando posted the following message today on their Instagram: “Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the reopening of Jellyrolls Dueling Piano Bar has been pushed back indefinitely. We are looking forward to serving and entertaining our valued guests as soon as possible! We will keep you posted as dates and developments materialize so check back often.” @Jellyrolls via Instagram So, it looks like we’ll have to wait a bit longer before we can enjoy a good piano duel performed by some of our favorites. We’ll keep our eyes open for more updates about the reopening of Jellyrolls and other spots around Disney World, and let you know what we find. In the meantime, click here to watch some Disney celebrities, including some performers from Jellyrolls, perform live for you without having to leave the house! Dear Corn Dog Nuggets from Casey’s Corner: Where have you gone? We really really really miss you. Please, come back to us. Love, Your adoring fans. P.S. Do you miss us too? It’s okay — you don’t need to answer that. We already know the answer in our hearts. Casey’s Corner Corn Dog Nuggets If you’re like us, the fact that Casey’s Corner is still temporarily closed has created a hole in your heart. Well, today we found a spot in Magic Kingdom that may be able to (temporarily) fill that hole a little bit! Now, we don’t want to get you too excited — Casey’s Corner is still closed at the moment. Casey’s Corner is Still Closed But, as we passed by Westward Ho in Frontierland in Magic Kingdom today, we noticed three beautiful words on the menu there — CORN DOG NUGGETS! Westward Ho Menu At first we thought, it’s not Casey’s…so, should we even order it? But we had to know if there was something out there that could give us that same (or at least a similar) sense of joy, so we got them (and you know we got a side of cheese too). Corn Dog Nuggets from Westward Ho The cheese is not the same as our beloved plastic cheese from Casey’s, but it was an acceptable substitute for the time being. We also definitely missed having fries on the side with our nuggets. But, enough of our moping! How were the corn dog nuggets themselves, you ask? Well… Corn Dog Nuggets from Westward Ho …they were actually really good! They had a deliciously golden brown color on the outside, and the flavors were all wonderful. They definitely hit the spot! Corn Dog Nuggets from Westward Ho Until we can get corn dog nuggets from Casey’s again, we’re definitely happy to have this as an available option. You can get the nuggets for $6.99, and the cheese on the side is an additional cost. Corn Dog Nuggets from Westward Ho These definitely beat the frozen corn dog nuggets we’ve been relying on during quarantine. So, if you’re craving corn dog nuggets in Magic Kingdom, be sure to stop by Westward Ho and grab some of these for yourself. If we spot any more of our favorite snacks making their return to Disney World, we’ll be sure to let you know so you can grab them during your next trip! Some of our favorite pre-packaged Halloween snacks have made their way back to Disney World! Click here to check them out! Are you a fan of the corn dog nuggets in Disney World?
