Actor, singer and dancer Jordan Fisher took time out of his recent Walt Disney World Resort vacation to catch up with Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse at EPCOT. With the iconic Spaceship Earth in the background, the “Happily Ever After” singer grabbed a photo and a selfie as the pair circled World Showcase during the new “Mickey and Friends World Tour.” “I’m so happy to be back,” said Jordan, who visited all four parks during his stay in Florida. “I’ve really missed Walt Disney World.” Jordan even got into the festive fall spirit with a fun face covering while visiting EPCOT! Now and throughout the fall, guests can experience the Taste of EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, sipping, savoring and strolling through 20 marketplaces to sample the best in global food and drink at the longest festival ever at Walt Disney World. Ever go on a shopping spree in a Walt Disney World theme park and then wish someone at the park could just hold all your stuff while you go ride your favorite attractions? Disney’s Animal Kingdom Before the closure and reopening, you could purchase items at Disney gift shops around the park and either have those items sent to the front of the park for you to pick up at the end of the day, or have the items sent to your Disney hotel room. Since the reopening, however, that special feature has not been available. But, now, a store in Disney’s Animal Kingdom is giving guests a taste of the old system, with some modifications. Currently, if you buy items at a Disney gift shop in the parks, you cannot have them sent to your Disney hotel room or held at the front of the park for you to pick up later. You can, however, still ship the items to your home for an additional shipping fee. The Lion King Merchandise But, now, one gift shop in Disney’s Animal Kingdom is also giving the guests the ability to have their merchandise held at the park while they go enjoy the rest of their day. To take advantage of this new system, you’ll want to head over to Windtraders, the gift shop located in Pandora — The World of Avatar by the exit to Avatar Flight of Passage. Windtraders At one particular register in the store, you can ask about the process for them to hold your packages. Windtraders Register You’ll receive an Article Storage slip, which you’ll need to fill out with all of the required information. This spot can hold merchandise you’ve purchased from any Disney gift shop. They cannot, however, hold onto any of your own personal items. Also, they can only store your items until 5:00PM, so you’ll need to make sure you return to Windtraders by 5:00PM to pick up your merchandise. Windtraders Holding Disney Merchandise — Trial This system is currently being testing out at this location. We’ll be on the lookout for any more news about this offering, and whether we spot any other stores around Disney World giving guests this same option. The France Pavilion has some serious culinary gems. That’s why it consistently tops our list for the best place to snack in World Showcase! France Today, we were checking out the menus in the Pavilion of Love when we spotted a new ice cream flavor available. It really is a good day for Pina Colada! What’s more, you can have the Pina Colada Ice Cream put in an Ice Cream Martini. Oh yeah, we went there and we have some THOUGHTS. The Pina Colada Ice Cream Martini with Rum is a gorgeous treat that’s currently available at L’Artisan des Glaces. The Cast Member told us that we might’ve been the FIRST to try this new flavor in martini form so we’re considering ourselves VERY lucky. Pina Colada Ice Cream Martini with Rum When you get an Ice Cream Martini, you get to choose your ice cream flavor and whether you want Grand Marnier, whipped cream vodka, or rum. For Pina Colada, you obvi have to get rum. Ok, you don’t HAVE to, and honestly, the other options might be just as delicious! Martini Options The treat is two scoops of Pina Colada Ice Cream with a shot of Rum, served up in one of those adorable France Pavilion martini glasses. Pina Colada Ice Cream Martini with Rum Oh, and did we mention it’s also super pretty? We LOVED this treat. Like, seriously we at the whole thing in almost no time, just slow enough not to get a brain freeze. The flavors of the Pina Colada ice cream mesh perfectly with the rum and honestly, we can’t say we’re surprised! If you’re a Pina Colada fan or if you’re looking for an upscale version of a Dole Whip with Rum, we may have found a winner. While the Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort is currently open, Disneyland Park and Disney’s California Adventure remain closed. Disneyland’s Sleeping Beauty Castle Some changes we’ve spotted could mean we’re getting closer to Disneyland reopening, but all of the details are all still being worked out. Now, we’ve spotted a small update that is giving us a better idea at least of when the Disneyland Resort Hotels may be reopening. Disneyland has cancelled guest reservations at their hotels several times over the last few months. Most recently, guests could only make hotel reservations for dates after September 15th. Now, reservations at the Disneyland Resort Hotels are not available until October 1st. Disneyland Hotel Room We were able to chat with a Disney representative through the Disneyland website today who confirmed that at this time, October 1st is the earliest that reservations are being accepted. We went to the Disneyland Resort Hotels website and tried to book a one night stay for the night of September 30th and it simply said to “Check Availability” at the resorts. Many sectors of the Walt Disney Company have had to contend with major business interruptions due to the global health crisis. Disney Cruise Line A very high profile impact was on the Disney Cruise Line in particular. Sailings have been canceled and moved since January of this year and Disney Cruises are currently suspended through the end of October. Now, through the Port of Galveston, we have some idea of what Disney is thinking about health protocols when it comes to the return of cruises. At the recent Board of Trustees of the Galveston Wharves meeting, the Port Director Rodger Rees spoke about the discussions he has had with Disney about the return of the Disney Cruise Line in the future. He noted that they are evaluating social distancing, capacity limitations, and enforced arrival times. Disney Cruise Line’s Disney Dream Specifically, he noted that Disney Cruise Line is planning on starting sailings at 70% capacity, potentially to balance the safety and profitability of the cruise model. On the ships and in the terminals, Rees noted that social distancing and limited interaction will be a focus. Disney even mentioned using fresh air instead of recirculating the air in the terminal air conditioning systems. Castaway Cay Speaking of the terminal, Rees also noted that Disney is looking at having a cap on the number of people allowed in the terminal at a time, specifically by enforcing the embarkation arrival times for different groups. This may mean that departures are later in the day to accommodate a slower boarding process. As of now, it is unclear when the Disney Cruises will return, though there are some slated for November at this time. Stay tuned to DFB for the latest Disney Cruise Line updates! We don’t know about you, but we’re getting excited about the upcoming release of Disney’s live-action Mulan. The movie releases TOMORROW, September 4th on Disney+ as part of a premium access program that will cost $29.99 (although it will be available to all Disney+ subscribers for FREE in December). We’ve spotted quite a lot of merchandise recently that’s themed to some of our favorite Disney villains. Dr. Facilier Fan Whether you love them, hate them, or love to hate them, the villains look like they’re here to stay. Now, we’ve found even more villains merch, and this time the villains are sticking onto us for good — literally! Much of the new villains merchandise we’ve spotted recently has featured five central characters — the Evil Queen from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Hades from Hercules, Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty, Dr. Facilier from The Princess and the Frog, and Ursula from The Little Mermaid. Villains Socks Well, these same five evil characters are back at it again in these Disney Villains Stickers. First, we’ve got a sticker featuring Dr. Facilier. It looks like his friends from the “other side” are ready to cause some trouble. There are also all kinds of quotes and phrases related to the Shadow Man in his hat, face, and other areas of the sticker. Disney Villains Sticker Next, we found a sticker featuring the sea witch, Ursula, with two tridents in the background and that infamous pair, Flotsam and Jetsam, in front. Even Ursula’s hair is formed by some sinister phrases. Disney Villains Sticker Maleficent looks decidedly wicked in this next sticker. Her green eyes really pop against the purple colors in the sticker, and the quotes around her remind us that “not all fairies are good.” Disney Villains Sticker Hades is making his way out of the Underworld and into your world with this spooky sticker. We love how his hair has the phrase “Hot Headed” within it. See if you can also spot Pain and Panic in this sticker! Disney Villains Sticker Last, but certainly not least, the Evil Queen has her poisoned apples ready for anyone who the mirror may say is fairer than she. The sticker even gives her the title “Queen of Mean.” It seems, for her at least, it truly is “good to be bad!” Disney Villains Sticker We found these stickers in World of Disney in the Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort. On Friday night, you can create magical memories and have some Disney fun by participating in LIVE game play during the Park Pals Edition of Disney Family Game Night. The night will feature Disney trivia, matching games and more! To make sure your game night is extra magical, we’ve gathered a few Disney items you’ll need. There will be seven challenging trivia rounds testing how much you know about Disney characters and personalities you may find at our Parks around the world. It’s not always easy to grab reservations for many table service restaurants at Walt Disney World, especially in the Magic Kingdom. But it seems that getting that must-want dining experience is starting to become a little easier, thanks to Disney World’s new Walk-Up Waitlist. Magic Kingdom The mobile dine walk-up waitlist gives guests the option to make something a lot like last-minute reservations at some of the most popular restaurants in the parks. And as the feature continues to roll out, even more restaurants are getting added! Recently, we noticed that five new Magic Kingdom restaurants had the mobile dine walk-up waitlist added! Be Our Guest is probably one of the toughest reservations to get in the Magic Kingdom, likely because guests get to dine inside the Beast’s Enchanted Castle, which we will admit, is pretty awesome. It’s not just a meal: it’s an entire experience! And now it’s a little easier to get a seat at Beast’s table because it’s been added to the mobile dine walk-up waitlist. YES!!! Rose Gallery at Be Our Guest in Magic Kingdom For those guests seeking adventure (and puns!), Jungle Navigation Co., Ltd. Skipper Canteen is the place to be! We love all the great international-inspired menu items here, but we also really love the Jungle Cruise atmosphere and jokes. And now, this restaurant has been added to the mobile dine walk-up waitlist feature. And that’s even better than the backside of water! Jungle Navigation Co., Ltd. Skipper Canteen at Magic Kingdom If you’re really hungry, though, you’ll want to head to Liberty Tree Tavern, which serves up family-style dinner that will leave you having to roll yourself out of the restaurant. And you can now get on the waitlist through the mobile dine walk-up option, so you don’t have to miss out on that Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake that we just can’t get enough of (just thinking about it makes us happy)! Liberty Tree Tavern The Plaza Restaurant is also a new addition to the mobile dine walk-up waitlist feature. Although the standard menu items are good here, it’s the ice cream and milkshakes that really keep us coming back for more. The Plaza Restaurant Outdoor Seating Tony’s Town Square rarely wows us with its food, but it’s still a good place to spend a “Bella Notte,” because of its Lady and the Tramp theme. It’s also the perfect spot to watch character cavalcades (and parades once they return). And it’s now an option on the mobile dine walk-up waitlist. Tony’s Town Square Restaurant So how does the waitlist work? All you have to do is login to the My Disney Experience app and select “Check Dining Availability.” Select today’s date and choose “Now.” You’ll then see a full list of the restaurants available: select the one you want, and you’ll be added to the waitlist! We’ve already stocked up on Mickey Mouse Jack-o’-Lantern candy buckets, Halloween inflatables, and Halloween costumes! Mickey Jack-o’-Lantern Bucket But there’s another thing we’ve been eagerly awaiting…the arrival of spooky popcorn buckets in Disney World. But now, the wait is officially over! That’s right folks — you can now add some Halloween magic to your popcorn experience with these spooktacular Halloween popcorn buckets we found in Disney’s Animal Kingdom! Looks like that cauldron is just overflowing with Halloween spirit. Halloween Popcorn Bucket It was served to us empty, with a box of popcorn for us to pour into the bucket if we wanted to. If you’re like us, you probably fell in love with the idea of Wakanda the first time you saw Black Panther. Turns out, we definitely weren’t the only ones. ©Disney Black Panther and Wakanda are super inspiring on several levels, which is part of the reason that star Chadwick Boseman’s passing earlier this week was so saddening. Still, his work ultimately spurred creativity and hope for many of us. Wakanda even inspired one man to decide to construct a real-life Wakanda for a price tag of $6 billion. The new civilization will be called Akon City and is in development by, you guessed it, R&B singer Akon. Akon City will be built on a site in Senegal to help develop solutions to the fast pace of global changes, economic progress, poverty, and the technology race that is causing issues in the area. ©Akon The new civilization will be “futuristic” and will include several districts like a business district, residential districts, an education district, a healthcare district, a media district, and more. One super cool aspect is that the city is set to be a “Smart City.” You know your Smart TV? Like that but WAY bigger. The city will mark the convergence between physical and digital elements and incorporate technologies such as cryptocurrency and solar power. ©Disney Black Panther Overall, it certainly does sound like an absolutely amazing project. According to CNN, Akon just laid the first brick so technically Akon City is officially under construction. Looking to grab some pizza on the go? Pizza Window at Disney’s BoardWalk Well, if you happen to be at Disney’s BoardWalk, you can now use Mobile Order at a quick service spot there to get a pizza for you and your family in an easy and convenient way! Lots of additions have made their way to the My Disney Experience app recently. A new Walk-Up Waitlist feature has been added for some table-service restaurants, and quite a few new spots have been added to it recently, including some restaurants in the theme parks! In addition, we’ve seen more quick service restaurants added to the Mobile Order feature on the app, which allows you to conveniently and quickly order your food. You can then pick it up from the restaurant at the designated time. Now, another spot has been added to the Mobile Order feature — the Pizza Window at Disney’s BoardWalk. ©Disney You can use Mobile Order to get lunch or dinner at this spot. BoardWalk Pizza Window | Screenshot from My Disney Experience We found some fun items on the menu like a Personal Pepperoni Pizza, Personal Sausage and Mushroom Pizza, and some whole pizzas too like a Whole Veggie or Whole Cheese Pizza. There were also some side options and desserts — like a Mini Cannoli — available. Beverages, beer, and wine were also on the Mobile Order menu.
