A Disney Springs restaurant is bringing diners back in time next month. Enzo’s Hideaway Tunnel Bar and Restaurant Enzo’s Hideaway at Disney Springs is already a restaurant whose theme is “inspired by Florida’s secretive “rum-running” past” that allows diners to “sip on prohibition-era cocktails and enjoy delicious bites at a tunnel bar exuding an intimate, 1920s speakeasy-vibe.” And, they’re hosting an EXCLUSIVE dining event soon! On May 16th and May 22nd, Enzo’s will host Bootlegger’s Dinner events that will allow ‘guests to travel back in time to the days of prohibition and rum running.” The menu for these events will feature “Italian dishes, taking inspiration from the tropics, plus carefully selected Brugal rum pairings.” Further expounding on the menu, Enzo’s exposing that diners will begin their evening with a “tropical Brugal 1888 cocktail, paired with a delicious coconut shrimp arancini, tying in the taste of the tropics. This course is followed by a hearty pasta, Paccheri al Ragù Cinghiale, paired with a complex Brugal Visionara concoction. For dessert, guests will enjoy a luxurious Brugal 1888 dessert drink, accompanied by Enzo’s Hideaway’s decadent affogato, an Italian coffee-based dessert.” The Bootleg Dinners will begin at 7:00 p.m. each night and cost $75 per person, plus tax and gratuity. Diners can add a 1 oz. pout of Brugal Maestro Reserva to their dinner for $25. Over the years, we’ve seen quite a few celebrities come to Disney World. Magic Kingdom Whether they’re in town to film a holiday special or they’re just vacationing with their families, celebrities like to visit The Most Magical Place on Earth too! But it’s not every day that we see a celebrity ANIMAL go to Disney World. Recently, a very famous dog got to take a trip to Disney World! Brodie the Goldendoodle has over 6 million followers on TikTok. For Brodie’s birthday, his owner Cliff Brush took him to the parks. Check out the video he shared below! Brodie’s Instagram shows off his adventures, with travels from everywhere to Lakers games to children’s hospitals to Coachella. Brodie is a task-trained service animal, which grants him rights to public spaces like Disney World. Non-service animal pets are not allowed in the theme parks, though some Disney World hotels are pet-friendly. TREND ALERT! We’ve seen people walk around with Disney nuiMOs stuffed animals strapped to their bags. We’ve seen grown adults sit down for a glittery face paint makeover. We’ve even seen some brave trendsetters sport DUCK LEG headbands in the parks. It’s Disney World — anything goes. Donald and Daisy! OK, what we’re about to show you is gonna be polarizing. If you’re in the camp that loves kooky, kitschy Disney merchandise, you’re going to LOVE these new souvenirs. If you simply can’t get behind the whole *walk around with literal sequined mouse ears* thing, you may want to avert your eyes. Alright. Let’s do this. Time to talk new merchandise. Disney just shared a first look at a brand-new souvenir coming to Disneyland SOON! To be fair, although we said “brand-new,” you may recognize these bad boys from overseas. Disney World might be the Most Magical Place on Earth, but that doesn’t mean it’s all magic and pixie dust all the time. We love Cast Members! It takes a lot of hard work to keep the parks and more running, and that hard work is done by all those wonderful Cast Members! But working at Disney World isn’t always glamorous, and in fact — sometimes there are certain things about their jobs they wish they could forget. This is especially true when it comes to the underground tunnels beneath Magic Kingdom — and we’re telling you why! Here at DFB, we’re pretty lucky that we’ve got quite a few former Disney World Cast Members on our team. This means we get to learn all sorts of juicy details and exciting secrets about what working for the House of Mouse is like. But it also means that we get to hear about the not-s0-magical aspects of the job, too. The underground tunnels beneath Magic Kingdom — also known as the Utilidors — have always been a thing of wonder to regular Disney fans. But, apparently, some Cast Members would rather forget their time in the tunnels — here’s why. The Travel Time It can Disney World visitors a while to get to Magic Kingdom. You typically have to park at the Transportation and Ticket Center and then take a bus, ferry, or monorail to actually make it to the park gate. But guess what? The same is pretty much true for Magic Kingdom Cast Members as well. They also have to park far away and then hop onto a bus to make their way there. ©Disney | Obtained via News 6 Orlando But then, once they do, they have to navigate through the tunnels to get to where they’re going and it’s often not a quick process. Even though these underground tunnels were designed to help Cast Members get around the park without people seeing them, there aren’t necessarily any shortcuts down there. Once you finally do make it to the right area, you might have to walk up 3-4 flights of stairs to get to your actual place of work! That sounds like quite an exhausting journey just to start your work day. The Normalcy Of course, Disney World is magical, but the Utilidors are disappointingly normal from what we’ve been told. Everyone is always so hyped to see them, and then once you do — it looks just like any other sort of industrial space (think like a parking garage or baseball stadium.) The general consensus seems to be that they’re pretty boring overall. ©Disney | Obtained via News 6 Orlando Our Cast Member team members had hyped them up in their heads to be fabulous and glamorous, and part of that is probably thanks to the mystery surrounding them. If you want to ever see them for yourself, you can either try to get a job as a Magic Kingdom Cast Member or book the Keys to the Kingdom tour! This gives folks a brief look at the Utilidors. The Strange Sights Magic Kingdom’s underground tunnels are essentially a series of break rooms, storage closets, hallways, and garages, so you’d probably expect to see some of that magic lifted while you’re down here. Seeing Cinderella without her gloves on or Goofy without his head is a normal occurrence — but apparently, it’s not one that you ever really get used to! Obtained via AllEars.net In addition, did you know that there’s a Subway sandwich shop in the Utilidors?! While that may not be a necessarily disturbing fact, it certainly could be for people who are terrified of Subway sandwich shops and would rather forget about their existence. Life is all about balance, you know? The Stares Not only is there a Subway in the tunnels, but there are also places for Cast Members to work out and get some exercise before or after their shifts. However, these areas were often places that were passed by when people took the Keys to the Kingdom tour. Cinderella Castle Folks would often just ogle and stare at the Cast Members without really interacting, making them feel uncomfortable and like something on display in a museum. Here’s a tip: Cast Members are people too, so if you ever take this tour — don’t do that! The Smells You haven’t thought of the smell! You see, Magic Kingdom has an incredibly intricate trash system. The park uses an automated vacuum collection or AVAC system to dispose of waste. Custodians collect and remove trash from the park twenty-four hours a day, and then the waste is dumped and processed. The trash travels from these processors through tubes that run through the Utilidors to a central location. So, as you can imagine, it can get quite stinky down there. Trash Cans Do you know what other sorts of pipes are often found underground? Sewer pipes. And Magic Kingdom is no different. So, in addition to dealing with a trash smell — you also have to put up with the occasional whiff of poo down there too. There’s not a whole lot of stellar airflow or circulation in the tunnels, either. The latest round of CLUES about the upcoming V.I.Passholder Days at Disney World seems to have ignited CHAOS on the internet! ©Disney We’re getting excited to experience Disney World’s V.I.Passholder Days soon, and while we already know some of what to anticipate (including a new AP-exclusive lounge and some new discounts), there’s still a lot left to be deciphered. Recently, Disney teased that a brand-new Annual Passholder magnet may be coming as part of this exclusive event, and now it seems they’re ready to give us another HINT at what (or who) will be waiting for us! One of Disney World’s most popular hotel pools is going to be CLOSED for longer than we originally thought. Stormalong Bay at Disney’s Beach Club Deciding on the right Disney World hotel to call home during your visit can be tricky, especially if you know one of your favorite hotel features is closed for refurbishment. If you were hoping to dip your toes into the sand and take a glide along the lazy river at one of Disney World’s most sought-after hotel pools, you’ll want to take notice of this upcoming closure and recent extension! If you’ve made a reservation at Disney World’s Beach Club or Yacht Club Resort solely to visit their incredible pool area, we’ve got some sobering news to share. Just recently, Disney announced that the 2025 refurbishment at Stormalong Bay is going to be extended through June. ©Disney This pool area is shared between Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts and is a high point for those looking to book a stay there as hotel guests. While we’re sure many people were hoping that the refurbishment could stick to the originally outlined timeline between January and May, it seems that Disney is now anticipating needing some extra time with the refurbishment. Stormalong Bay Typically, when pool areas are refurbished, the updates can range from minor to major upgrades like draining the pool area, repainting and touching up walls and decor, and even replacing pool deck tables and chairs. Pool Construction We’re hoping that the latest we’ll see this refurbishment continue for this hotel will be through June but as we’ve just seen, that is always subject to change at any time. Stormalong Bay is a super popular pool in Disney World. In fact, it’s more of a miniature water park, with 3 acres of “aquatic fun.” There’s a sand-bottomed pool, a life-sized shipwreck replica, a 230-foot-long waterslide, a lazy river, and three whirlpool spas. One of the first things we tell folks before they visit Disney World for the first time is to get familiar with the My Disney Experience app. Using the My Disney Experience app That’s because the My Disney Experience app is literally your key to Disney World (and the key to your Disney World hotel room). You’ll use the app for everything from mobile ordering food to getting into the parks to buying Genie+. But there’s one thing you MUST do BEFORE you ever step foot on Disney World property in the app. If you are traveling to Disney World with friends and family, you MUST link all your accounts together in the app. That will allow you to share plans with everyone in your group, as well as book Lightning Lanes together, share dining reservations, sign up for virtual queues, and share PhotoPass photos. Don’t forget to link your friends and family We’re going to tell you exactly how to do this. First, you’ll want to Open the My Disney Experience app and click on the three horizontal lines in the bottom right corner of the home screen. ©Disney Scroll down a bit and choose “Profile.” ©Disney Click on the tab that says “Family & Friends List.” ©Disney Scroll down and click on “Add a Guest.” You’ll be given several options. If you have guests already connected, you can find them through there. You can also scan their linking code (which can be found in the app). Or you can manually enter their name and age. Note that you must add their birthday if they’re under the age of 18. Once you’re done, click on “Add Guest” at the bottom. Scanning the linking code is probably the easiest way to link someone to your account. ©Disney That’s it! Once you have everyone linked, you’ll be able to share all your plans and use the app as a group when you visit Disney World. A MASSIVE debate is raging within the DFB team, and we need YOUR HELP to settle it! ©Kellanova Disney Adults are no strangers to debate. While we are in sync on so much when it comes to Disney and the Disney parks, some things keep us divided. We can come to an agreement every once in a while, but some debates only lead to further division. Such is the case with a current debate happening that we need your help settling! The Disney Adults here at DFB are locked in a heated debate — which Pop-Tart is better: frosted or unfrosted? Be the deciding vote! ©Amazon A super popular breakfast snack (and regular snack) among practically everyone, Pop-Tart pastries come in many different flavors, and you can get them frosted or unfrosted. Versions of this treat have even made their way over to the Disney parks in the form of Lunch Box Tarts at Woody’s Lunch Box. As the snack’s popularity refuses to wane, so does the debate — is unfrosted better than frosted or vice-versa? 2023 Fourth of July Lunch Box Tart Let’s get into the arguments! One of our reporters said eating an unfrosted Pop-Tart is like eating “an Oreo without the cream.” In fact, they felt Pop-Tarts should get even more creative and think outside the box for their next release. To quote Disney Channel’s Johnny Tsunami and one of our reporters, when it comes to frosting on Pop-Tarts, you gotta “go big or go home.” Others said that the crust without the frosting just isn’t very tasty. The word “cardboard” was thrown around…. Shots fired Of course, the pushback came swiftly. Other members of the team talked about how they don’t miss the mess of frosting. One even admitted to only eating the Pop-Tart crust around the frosting on some occassions. “I’m the person who will buy a pie crust and just sprinkle cinnamon sugar on it but fill it with nothing. I like CRONCH,” they said. Another reporter stood on business, saying they will always choose savory over sweet and that people who prefer unfrosted Pop-Tarts “don’t need the added sugar because we ARE the added sugar.” The shade! This fiery debate rages on here at DFB. Tastebuds will be insulted, friendships will be lost, and empires will fall. Disney’s lone European theme park resort has A LOT going on right now! Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland Paris Disneyland Paris is in the midst of some major changes, and if you blink, you might miss them! On April 12th, the resort announced quite a few upcoming additions and a rebranding change and we’re here to lay it all out! Disneyland Paris opened on April 12th, 1992, and to celebrate its 32nd year, the park is getting a bunch of updates. Let’s check them out! Walt Disney Studios Park Disneyland Paris’ second park, Walt Disney Studios Park, opened in 2002 as a way to give guests “a behind-the-scenes look into the making of movies, animated feature films, and television shows,” according to Disney. In 2007, the park expanded with The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Toy Story Playland, and Ratatouille: The Adventure. Even more recently, the Worlds of Pixar, Marvel Avengers Campus, and the not-yet-open World of Frozen continue to show the park’s evolution. That evolution is about to hit a new milestone, Disney confirmed. ©Disney The theme of the park will shift to the celebration of the different worlds and lands of Disney films, resulting in a name change for Walt Disney Studios. The new name will be Disney Adventure Park, and Disney promises it will feature “a journey that blends the magic and emotion of our beloved franchises with explorations into faithfully recreated new worlds.” The name change will go into effect once World of Frozen opens. ©Disney Accompanying concept art, Disney wrote, “With an unprecedented level of immersion and powerful storytelling, the latest experiences delivered across the park already reflect this new creative vision. Among the breathtaking experiences that will be offered in the future, World of Frozen is going to take guests on a journey to the kingdom of Arendelle with its colorful facades and remarkable North Mountain that are gradually coming into view.” ©Disney The new land will be located on the edge of Adventure Bay, a 70,000 cubic meter body of water that will serve as the gateway to the new themed lands. It will also serve as a “unique entertainment stage with a 360-degree viewing area” and will feature new water-based entertainment. ©Disney The transformation will start this April when the entrance area is turned into a “vibrant, contemporary open-air movie studio” that welcomes guests to a Hollywood film premiere. This new experience will replace the current décor with new ones that pay “homage to historic movie theaters in Hollywood and the entertainment industry as a whole.” The new entrance building, called World Premiere, will reopen in Spring 2025. ©Disney Other new additions to the revamped park include World Premiere Plaza (an “area that brings together theaters, currently celebrating Disney Animation and Pixar stories, in a stylish Art Déco-inspired setting.”), Raiponce Tangled Spin (a spinning family attraction based on Tangled), and The Regal View Restaurant and Lounge ( a “stylish table-service restaurant that will offer guests spectacular views over Adventure Bay,” as well as a Disney Princesses meet-and-greet.). ©Disney As for entertainment, Disneyland Paris is advertising a new show called Alice & the Queen of Hearts: Back to Wonderland, which is set to open on May 25th, 2024 at Walt Disney Studios Park. Additionally, a new nighttime show was also teased for Paris’ Avengers Campus in Spring 2025. Disney Village Disneyland Paris’ shopping center, Disney Village, will also go through a gradual redesign that will pave the way for new experiences. Two new Disney shop concepts — “a lifestyle stop with ready-to-wear clothing, jewelry, accessories, and new collaboration pieces and a Disney home store with a selection of accessories and Disney collectible items” — will be introduced by the end of 2024. ©Disney The current Disney Store and existing LEGO Store are also set to expand. Hotels The reimaging isn’t just limited to the theme park and shopping. Disney Davy Crockett Ranch’s bungalows will be replaced and modernized over time to reflect Disney characters like the Junior Woodchucks, Donald Duck, and his friends. Streaming has become a staple of today’s home entertainment. ©Disney Disney created Disney+ several years ago, and it has become a top streaming platform around the country. Most recently, the app was updated to include a Hulu tile, so now you enjoy Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, Marvel, National Geographic, and Hulu movies and shows all from one centralized app. This was a huge move for the Disney company, and clearly part of CEO Bob Iger’s commitment to his “number one priority.” Now, there’s new talk of the town that Disney could continue to revamp and add a new feature to Disney+. Since Iger’s return, he has made Disney+ and streaming in general a top priority of the company. His ambition doesn’t stop at just Disney+ but also expands to ESPN and live sports streaming, both of which are currently being developed. But what if the app had an option to just play shows and movies that are always on? ©Disney According to The Verge, that’s exactly what could be coming next to Disney+. Free ad-supported streaming TV, aka F.A.S.T., is a concept that sounds very similar to traditional television. However, if Disney added it to Disney+ it would be available on the app anywhere, anytime. That means you could select the always-on channel option and watch whatever happens to be on. On Disney+ that could look like favorite Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and other shows and movies that are constantly showing. ©Star Wars This concept is already being used on other streaming platforms such as Freevee on Amazon (which is free to watch without a subscription), Tubi, and Pluto. If always-on channels did come to Disney+, they would likely be part of the paid streaming service and not accessible by everyone (unlike Freevee). It is also likely that if this service came to Disney+, it would include ads (so basically traditional TV with commercials). ©Marvel At this point, Disney has not commented or confirmed any such concept, though it would seem to fit with their streaming priorities and motives. Disney has been working hard to find new ways to add and keep subscribers on Disney+. A move like this may make a big difference to consumers and create an even more accessible service. If you’re planning a trip to Disney World, then there’s a good chance you’ve taken to social media to help with all your planning. Hollywood Studios In an age where we can practically use TikTok as a search engine in itself, it’s easy to get wrapped up in what’s trending as far as park snacks go. Don’t get us wrong, snacks trend on social media for a reason. However, we’ve found that some really great snack options get forgotten in the shadows of other treats’ social media stardom. Today, we’re here to talk about one of those instances in particular. Let’s talk about COOKIES. These aren’t just any cookies. We’re here to talk about cookies over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Here, you can find all sorts of great dessert options. One dessert in particular has gone viral here, though, and it can be found at Backlot Express. Backlot Express Yes, we’re talking about the Wookie Cookie! If you’re unfamiliar with this treat, it consists of two oatmeal cookies smooshed together with vanilla cream filling and garnished with a chocolate sash that looks just like Chewbacca’s in Star Wars. It’s $6.79 and is a super solid option for a sweet treat. The treat has been spotted across socials for being a huge, cute, Star Wars-themed cookie that’s pretty darn good, too. Wookie Cookie So…what’s the issue? There’s truly no issue, other than consistency. Sometimes, the cookie can be a bit inconsistent with how moist it is as well as how much icing we’re given. Other times, it’s prepared a bit sloppily. Oh, and we did think of one more issue. PRICE. This cookie is nearly $7, and for that — we expect a bit more consistency when it comes to a $7 cookie. That being said, there are just better options! We’re about to show you two of those. Carrot Cake Whoopie Pie at Trolley Car Cafe Trolley Car Cafe can be found toward the front of Hollywood Studios and is actually where you can find the park’s Starbucks. The Carrot Cake Whoopie Pie is MASSIVE and can be all yours for $5.49. Carrot Cake Cookie at Disney’s Hollywood Studios It’s two moist carrot cake cookies that are smothered and held together with cream cheese buttercream frosting. It has never disappointed us, and it’s honestly big enough to share. It’s cheaper than the Wookie Cookie, bigger than the Wookie Cookie, and for some folks — it might just taste better, too. Now, let’s head further into the park for another cookie option! Jack-Jack’s Num Num Cookie Jack-Jack’s Num Num Cookie can be found at The Market in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and is a GIANT chocolate chip cookie that is so thick that it honestly looks more like a mini pie. It’s moist, it’s gooey, it’s consistent, and it’s actually well-worth its price of $6.19. If we had to choose whether or not we were spending our money on a near-$7 Wookie Cookie or a near-$7 Jack-Jack’s Num Num Cookie, we’d totally go with Jack-Jack. Jack Jack Num Num Cookie And there you have it! Of course, it’s totally okay to simply prefer the Wookie Cookie. Everyone is different!
