There are so many restaurants at Disney World, where do we even start? There’s a spot for just about anyone, from quick casual to sit-down, and options in between. Maria & Enzo We headed to a sit-down restaurant, Maria & Enzo’s at Disney Springs, to see if this place is worth the stop. We’re bringing you a FULL review, so sit back, grab your notebook, and get ready to have dinner with us at DFB. Atmosphere Maria & Enzo’s is located in the Landing at Disney Springs and invites you to “step into the golden age of air travel when you savor authentic Italian cuisine inside this stunning trattoria.” Step inside Step inside a 1930s airline terminal! With classic touches like retro travel posters and subtle nods to airplanes, it’s a beautiful space featuring numerous tables. You’ll enter on the top of a grand staircase as your server leads you downstairs to your table. Don’t worry, there’s also an elevator! Make sure you look up when you come in because there are beautiful travel details on the ceiling. Inside We’re ready to eat, so let’s check out the menu. Menu This restaurant is filled with classic Italian dishes, from tons of pasta options and appetizers that will make your mouth water. They pride themselves on traditional Sicilian dishes, and because of that, keep in mind that modifications may be less familiar, depending on the dish. Menu They serve lunch from 11:30 AM to 3:30 PM and dinner from 4 PM to 10 PM, as well as brunch on the weekends. While same-day dining may be available, it’s recommended to book a reservation in advance. Menu Now, let’s eat. Eats We started with the Burrata Caprese for $19. Burrata This is a new recipe made with tomatoes, basil pesto, sea salt, and ciabatta crostini. The tomatoes were gorgeous, ripe, and juicy, and the basil pesto added brightness that paired well with the tomatoes’ acidity. The burrata is topped with olive oil and flaky sea salt, which adds a bit of crunch. The crostini was on the too-crispy side, and it took a bit of effort to get through it, but we did appreciate the crunch with the bite of the tomatoes and the creaminess of the burrata. We wish there had been more bread because there wasn’t enough for the toppings, and we ended up with a lot of tomatoes at the end. Burrata For our entrees, we had Rosetta Di Lasagna Per La Tavola, which serves two, for $49. It serves 2! This is fresh egg pasta, ricotta, mozzarella, fontina, besciamella, short rib and pork ragu, pomodoro, and parmigiano-reggiano. They only offer a limited number of these each day, so availability may be limited when you visit. Woah! It’s so big! You could probably even share this with three people. The noodles had a perfect al dente bite, and the short rib and pork ragu were flavorful and tender. While there wasn’t too much sauce, it was a pomodoro sauce with an acidic, tomato kick. The ricotta comes in little dollops and provides a nice creaminess, and there was also mozzarella and fontina between the layers of noodles. More cheese in the layers would be nice, so we could taste it a bit more! Spirals of pasta We also had the Pollo alla Parmigiana for $32. Chicken Parmesan This is a lightly breaded chicken breast, served with marinara, for di latte mozzarella, parmesan, and penne pomodoro. This dish is also huge! The chicken was seasoned well, but perhaps a touch salty for some. It was on the drier side, but the cheese and marinara paired well with it, adding a different texture. The pasta was again, al dente, and we could tell it was freshly made. If you are looking for a familiar Italian dish, the chicken Parmigiano might be the right choice for you. Mmm bubbly cheese For a gluten-free option, we had the Spaghetti alla Chitarra for $30. Gluten free It’s made with marinara sauce, meatballs, Parmigiano-Reggiano, and basil. If you would like to be gluten-free, you’ll have to request it with your server. Note that the meatballs are not gluten-free. We chose to have gluten-free noodles but stuck with the traditional meatballs. For gluten-free noodles, they were okay, but we thought the noodles and sauce tasted like they were store-bought. The meatballs were soft and melted in your mouth, and were the winner on the dish, but we were a little disappointed with this allergy-friendly option, especially for the price point. Meatballs come on the side For dessert, we tried the Coppa Di Maria for $16. Stunning! The dessert is served with house-made vanilla, chocolate, and pistachio gelato, as well as amaretti and pizzelle cookies, and amarena cherries. You can’t go wrong with gelato! The chocolate gelato was incredibly rich, and the vanilla was lovely, creamy, and smooth. The pistachio was also super creamy and soft, but had chunks of pistachios mixed in to add a crunch. The whipped cream on top reminded us of cannoli cream, and the cherries were a fun addition. The pizelle was crispy and sweet, and was nice to have crunch along with the gelato. We love gelato You knew we had to try the Quattro Cannoli for $16, too! Cannolis We served four flavors: classic, pistachio, chocolate, and hazelnut. We thought all of the cannolis tasted similar, except for the chocolate. The hazelnut and pistachio were delicious, but there wasn’t a noticeable difference between them. The classic one is good, but the cherry flavor takes over the cream, so if you’re not a cherry fan, you might want to go for other flavors. We loved how they were filled to the brim, and cannoli is a lovely way to finish off an Italian dinner. Four different flavors Drinks For our drinks, we tried the Taste of Summer for $10. Floridays The drink is made with peach puree, orange juice, pineapple juice, and cherry syrup. This drink also has a different name, Floridays! When we took a sip, it was thick and pineapple forward. We appreciate a great mocktail, and when the ice melts, it becomes more liquid, making it easier to drink. It just screams summer, which is perfect for Florida, where it’s summer all year round. Mocktail option We tried the Z+T for $13, for an alcohol-free option. Zero proof It’s made with Lucano, an amaro, Jack Rudy tonic, Fee Breothers, cardamon bitter, and soda. While this is a zero-proof cocktail, it is intended for individuals 21 years of age and older and requires ID verification. The orange peel on top gives a strong citrus note on the nose, and the cardamom is strong when you take your sips. It reminded us of the holidays. It’s less fizzy than a typical Coke, and we think this is a nice zero-proof option that reminds us of a real cocktail. Z+T Another drink we had was the N2 Bean Martini, priced at $19, for a sweeter option. N2 Bean Martini We love an espresso martini, but we’re not sure this hit the mark. It wasn’t very shaken, and the aftertaste was quite bitter, more than a typical coffee drink. We thought the vanilla vodka was an addition, adding a nice sweetness to it. Our espresso martini Nosh or Not Maria & Enzo’s need to be on your list if… You are looking for traditional Italian dishes You like varieties of pasta and different sauces to try You want a sit-down restaurant to get out of the heat and have a nice family dinner You might want to head somewhere else if… You like a wider variety of options with available modifications You’re looking for a quick bite before heading on your way You want to eat a meal closer to where you’re staying or at the parks Our meal Overall Maria & Enzo’s is going to be your spot for those traditional Italian dishes. Our table was full of cheese and pasta, which are our favorite parts of an Italian dinner. For allergy-friendly options, we weren’t obsessed and might pick somewhere else to try, but we loved the different cocktails and mocktails. The desserts were fun, and if you just need to hit that Italian craving, you’ll want to head straight here. In the meantime, we’re going to continue to try more and more restaurants and bring all the details here for you to have the best Disney World vacation yet. If you’re heading to Walt Disney World, chances are you’ll be flying into Orlando International Airport (MCO) — it’s the main gateway for millions of Disney guests each year. Orlando International Just stepping off the plane, seeing that iconic blue and green carpet, and you can already feel like the start of your vacation. But while MCO and Disney World are closely connected in many ways, the journey from the airport to the parks has gotten trickier in recent years — and there are a couple of big things that really need to change to make this part of the trip smoother for guests and our readers did not hold back their thoughts on this one. We asked readers, “What changes would make that ride from MCO to Disney World smoother?”. The was one overwhelming response to this — the Magical Express. This complimentary bus service used to take guests from the airport straight to their Disney World hotel — no extra planning, no luggage wrangling, and no stress about ride-shares or rental cars. It made the arrival experience feel seamless and magical, like your vacation truly started the moment you stepped off the plane. As reader Mike put it plainly, “There’s only one answer, right? Bring back the Magical Express.” Magical Express sign Not only did the Magical Express offer convenience, but it also kept guests in the Disney bubble — something a lot of fans are still missing. Reader Kristen explained it best: “Why would they stop bringing people into their Disney bubble? It just pops the bubble and makes us more mobile — maybe even able to stay elsewhere and visit Disney.” Without the Magical Express, guests are now more likely to explore other transportation and lodging options, which means they may not be as immersed in the full Disney experience as they were before. For many, this one change made a big impact on how that first day of vacation feels. We miss the Magical Express With increasing traffic and travel times between Orlando International Airport (MCO) and Disney World, many guests are dreaming of a faster, smoother option, like a dedicated rail line. Our reader, Chris, summed it up perfectly: “Rail, rail, rail! Need an AirTrain-like train between MCO and Disney to just bypass the traffic.” A reliable rail system could eliminate the guesswork of traffic delays, ride-share surges, and rental car chaos. It could also help bring back a little of the “magic” that’s been missing since the end of services like Magical Express, giving families a calm, stress-free journey straight to the fun. Baggage claim! Good news, Chris — this might happen! Currently, there is a proposed project in the works to add a SunRail train line to Central Florida. The proposed stops would be at Orlando International Airport (MCO), near the Orange County Convention Center, and on South International Drive. There will even be a route along Interstate 4 to go to Tampa. A stop will eventually be added to Disney Springs, as well! ©SunRail For more Disney news and travel tips, follow us at DFB! It’s a little sad when something closes in Disney World, and lately, we’ve seen a lot of permanent closures that have already happened or are happening soon. Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel We recently had to say goodbye to It’s Tough To Be A Bug in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. We also just said goodbye to Muppets Courtyard in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. We’ll soon be saying goodbye to Tom Sawyer Island and Rivers of America in Magic Kingdom. Well, over at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin, we were recently informed that a popular restaurant there, Shula’s Steak House, would permanently close. Now the restaurant is closed, so let’s take a look at what’s going on there now. June 14th was the last day of operation for Shula’s Steakhouse, and now the location is permanently closed. The restaurant was named after its original owner and American football legend, the late Don Shula. Its atmosphere was indulgent, dark, and elegant, and we often called the pricey restaurant a hidden gem. Shula’s Steakhouse However, it’s now gone forever. We stopped by the Shula’s location to see for ourselves and saw a black curtain covering the restaurant’s entrance. While we were visiting the restaurant, though, we could already hear the sounds of construction. We recently reported that a new Michael Mina restaurant, Bourbon Steak, will be taking Shula’s place. Mina owns The MINA Group, which manages over 40 restaurants worldwide, so we’ll be interested in seeing what the new place has to offer. It’s officially closed So, when will this new restaurant make its debut? The opening timeline is mid-summer, which means it could open pretty soon. We’ll be keeping an eye out for progress and a specific opening date, so be sure to stay tuned to DFB for more. With DOZENS of places to eat at Disney World, we know it can be tough to plan your meals. That’s why we wrote the DFB Guide to Dining at Walt Disney World. A Disneyland vacation in 2026 is going to look mighty different… 70th Anniversary Castle Tribute in Disneyland With Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary Celebration and the DisneylandForward expansion project both OFFICIALLY underway, things are looking mighty different at the Anaheim resort. The celebration and construction will last long into 2026, with new experiences and obstacles presenting themselves in the coming year. With that in mind, it’s safe to say we won’t be doing Disneyland the same way in 2026. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it), some Disneyland traditions will need to be altered in 2026. We’ve thought of five specifically that will have no place in the new year. Laughing Along With Mike and Sulley Over in Disney California Adventure, Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue is a fun little family dark ride that invokes plenty of giggles and sentiment. This underrated gem has survived a few demolition rumors over the years, but those rumors are finally coming to fruition in 2026. Mike and Sulley to the Rescue! The ride is closing for good in 2026 as parts of the Hollywood Backlot will be included in the new Avatar land in California Adventure. ©Disney While we’re excited to experience this brand-new Avatar expansion at the Disneyland Resort, it’s bittersweet. The Monsters, Inc. ride — which replaced Superstar Limo — really is adorable and will truly be missed. All the NEW Rides and Attractions at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure in 2025 and Beyond Watching “Paint the Night” and “Wondrous Journeys” The “Paint the Night” nighttime parade and “Wondrous Journeys” fireworks spectacular are both BACK at Disneyland for the 70th anniversary, and we couldn’t be happier! Both shows are world-class and definitely worth checking out if you find yourself at Disneyland Park during the evening. However, there is one major drawback. Paint the Night Parade As part of the 70th Anniversary Celebration, both shows have a shelf life. We’ve seen this trend with anniversary offerings before — they’re brought back for a limited time before they’re shelved again for years. “Paint the Night”, for example, has absences from the park as did its predecessor “The Main Street Electrical Parade” — which is still missed at Disneyland. Wondrous Journeys The anniversary celebrations will continue into the summer of 2026, which means you can expect both shows to no longer be available in the second half of 2026. Take advantage of their availability while you still can… We’ve Waited YEARS to See This Nighttime Disney Parade Again! Taking in the Esplanade The Disneyland Esplanade is the open area between Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure. Fituring donor bricks, fun music, and plenty of picture spots, this iconic area could be changing soon. Esplanade Disney recently revealed that the Disneyland Resort is getting a new esplanade experience as part of the inclusion of a new transportation hub. What those changes will entail exactly is still to be determined, but the concept art makes it look like the work is going to include, possibly, some serious changes. ©Disney A new parking structure and transportation hub will be built on the east side of Disneyland Resort, which will provide approximately 6,000 parking spaces, shuttle and rideshare areas, additional security screening, and dedicated access for traffic off of Disney Way. An all-new esplanade arrival experience is included in the plans. Disney’s NEW Transportation Hub Is Set to Bring BIG CHANGES Complaining About Avengers Campus Okay, so this might not technically be a Disneyland tradition, but that doesn’t mean people don’t love to complain about Avengers Campus. Avengers Campus Avengers Campus had so much promise when it opened in 2021, but has since received mixed reviews due to a lack of size, attractions, and dining options. Web Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure is fine, but there are folks who are really not impressed by it. Additionally, when the land was built, Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout already existed and has since remained the E-ticket attraction in the land without any real competition. The land needs more. The land is getting more. ©Disney Avengers Campus is getting a MASSIVE expansion that will add two new rides and more experiences — finally delivering on its promise to match the larger-than-life vibes of the superheroes it’s based on. So we guess our complaints will be on hold until the final product is completed. CONFIRMED: Construction Just Started on Disney’s Avengers Campus Expansion Buying Disneyland Resort Vacation Packages From Costco Costco really is a unique shopping experience that can include booking Disney vacations! Unfortunately, those looking to buy Disneyland vacation packages through Costco are no longer able to. ©Costco Wholesale While Costco will still honor existing vacation packages, the wholesale chain no longer sells Disneyland-specific reservations, despite having done so for many years. ©Costco You can still book Disney World, Disney’s Aulani Resort in Hawaii, or Disney Cruise Line vacations through Costco if you’re a member, but Disneyland is off the table — at least for now. There’s always a chance this offer comes back, as there’s a chance that Costco just won’t ever offer the package ever again. We’ll keep you posted if this status changes. ©Costco Wholesale Things are rapidly changing at the Disneyland Resort, so it’s likely more traditions will be canceled in the future while new ones will be added. Disney Just Dropped Some HUGE ‘Zootopia 2’ News!
Disney4me posted a topic in Disney Food/Restaurants
It’s a great time to be a fan of Disney’s Zootopia. First, a whole Zootopia LAND opened last year at Shanghai Disney Resort. ©Disney Plus, Disney’s Animal Kingdom in Disney World is getting a brand new Zootopia attraction inside the Tree of Life (it’s replacing the now-closed It’s Tough To Be A Bug attraction). AND there’s a brand NEW Zootopia movie coming out later this year — and that’s something to get REALLY stoked about. Well, now, we’ve got some brand-new details about Zootopia 2. In an interview with Variety, Zootopia 2 director Jared Bush spoke a little bit about the movie, revealing a few new details. For example, Disney is currently testing a brand-new animation system called Presto. “It changed our whole pipeline and is being used on the next Zootopia movie,” Bush said. “We’re halfway into that system; some scenes use it, others don’t, depending on the characters.” ©Disney Bush also said that “sequels are tricky.” He pointed out that when it comes to sequels, moviegoers want the familiarity of the previous movies, but also expect something new. “The key is making sure any evolution feels organic and integral to the story. You can’t just change a character’s design for the sake of change. People can sense when it’s unearned.” He mentioned Moana 2, which gave audiences an aged-up version of Moana. ‘Zootopia 2’ Bush also spoke a little bit about introducing reptiles to the world of Zootopia in the sequel. “They move and behave differently than mammals. Telling their story required a different approach.” He explained, “It’s something we haven’t done in CG before, even though Disney has this rich history of animated snakes.” ©Disney Disney previously released a trailer for Zootopia 2, but it really didn’t give much away in terms of the plot. However, we know that the movie will see Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde meet a mysterious snake named Gary who arrives in Zootopia and turns the city upside down. Judy and Nick will have to go undercover to learn more about Gary, which will take them to new parts of the city AND test their friendship. The film brings back Ginnifer Goodwin and Jason Bateman as Judy and Nick, and will introduce Ke Huy Quan as Gary, the snake. Zootopia arrives in movie theaters on November 26th, so be sure to mark your calendars — and stay tuned to DFB for more. The Coolest Thing About Disney’s New Zootopia Land Might Be…the Bathrooms? An underrated Disney World attraction is about to be done with its refurbishment! While this under-the-radar attraction never fully closed, we are excited that its refurbishment is about done. Winter Summerland Miniature Golf has been undergoing a refurbishment since April 28th, and it is about to be completed. Winter Summerland Mini Golf During the refurbishment, only one course was available at a time, so you couldn’t choose between the Summer or Winter course; you simply had to play the course that was open. But pretty soon, we will once again have choices when it comes to playing golf at Winter Summerland! While it was only kind of closed, we are excited it is about to be fully open! From April 28th until June 16th, 2025, Winter Summerland Miniature Golf will be undergoing refurbishment. However, even though it is getting refurbished, you can still stop by to play a round of golf. Only ONE course will be open at a time during the refurbishment, so you won’t have your choice of The Summer or The Winter Course; it will just be whichever one is open. Winter Summerland Mini Golf As well, Winter Summerland won’t be taking reservations during this time. If you are looking to play a round, you will just head over to the course as a walk-up. You can also head over to Fantasia Gardens and Fairways Miniature Golf if you are looking for even more mini golf fun. But, beginning June 17th, you will have choices at Winter Summerland! Let’s take a look at what other attractions and locations will be closed this week, June 14th through June 21st, at Disney World! Magic Kingdom Playground at Dumbo the Flying Elephant The indoor children’s playground inside the Dumbo the Flying Elephant queue closed for refurbishment on February 24th, 2025. While the playground is closed, the ride is still open and available for kids of all ages to soar through the sky! Dumbo The indoor playground is expected to reopen in Spring 2025. Hall of Presidents The Hall of Presidents closed at Magic Kingdom on January 20th. The attraction will be closed until later in 2025, though Disney has not shared a specific date. We will keep an eye out for updates, though! Hall of Presidents The closure is likely to change the current president, as January 20th marked Inauguration Day. While it is closed, other maintenance and routine work may also be happening. Recently, the inside has opened up for guests to explore and to get some much-needed A/C, but the show itself is not running. Astro Orbiter If you want to blast off into space, you’ll have to head over to Space Mountain because Astro Orbiter is temporarily closed for refurbishment. Astro Orbiter closed as of January 13th and is planned to reopen in the summer of 2025. No specific date has been announced for the high-in-the-sky ride, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled for an update from Disney. Astro Orbiter The ride has been completely dismantled and is being refurbished elsewhere. It definitely looks a little barren as you are walking into Tomorrowland right now! However, Disney has filed a permit that could mean the attraction will soon be back in its place in Tomorrowland, and we are starting to see it getting reassembled. Construction walls are back, and the crane is in place to reassemble. WONDERFUL WAFFLE NEWS: Magic Kingdom’s BEST Snack Is BACK in Disney World Big Thunder Mountain Railroad On January 6th, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad closed for an extended temporary closure. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad The “Wildest Ride in the Wilderness” will be closed for at least a year and will reopen sometime in 2026. The ride will be undergoing maintenance while it is closed. When it reopens, it will have some “new magic,” according to Disney. We can’t wait to see what changes will be coming to this ever-popular roller coaster! We recently spotted some ride testing happening, which was very exciting. Tomorrowland Terrace Tomorrowland Terrace is a quick-service restaurant that has been closed since the 2020 pandemic-related closures, but even before that, this spot was only occasionally open. Fireworks Party at Tomorrowland Terrace Once in a while, you’ll see the dining room open as a rest area (and it’s still being used for the Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Parties), but it’s usually all roped off and empty. Disney hasn’t announced when this spot could finally reopen, but we’ll be watching for updates. If you’re looking for a nice spot to hang out in Disney World and take a rest, this could be it! Tortuga Tavern Just like Tomorrowland Terrace, Tortuga Tavern is a seasonal restaurant in Magic Kingdom. It has been a bit since we saw it open. Most recently, it was used as a cookie location for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Tortuga Tavern We had previously spotted shrubs around the restaurant as they worked on the flooring. However, all the shrubs have been taken down now. We don’t know exactly when/if this restaurant will reopen, but we will keep you updated if we learn more! In Less Than One Month, Magic Kingdom Will Be Totally Different EPCOT Test Track Test Track closed on June 17th, 2024, and Disney is giving this ride a BIG makeover! Disney has shared that the new version of Test Track will take inspiration from the old ride, World of Motion, that was originally there when the park opened in 1982. We recently spotted a new Test Track sign make its debut in the courtyard. Plus, the gift shop has a new sign and a new name, Test Track Gear Shop. Test Track Disney shared more details at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Experience, and an updated opening timeline was announced! We’ll be able to ride Test Track once again in late summer 2025. We have gotten a look at the new Test Track cars, too. Recently, we have even been hearing vehicles running on the track. We are getting closer and closer to its reopening! NEW EPCOT Food and Wine Festival Trends We Expect to See in 2025 Disney’s Animal Kingdom It’s Tough to Be a Bug It’s Tough to Be a Bug is officially closed for good. This attraction in Disney’s Animal Kingdom once invited you to join the bug kingdom on an adventure. While the show didn’t usually make it to the top of favorite attractions in Disney World, it has now officially closed to make way for a new show. It’s Tough To Be a Bug It’s Tough to Be a Bug closed on March 17th. The show is permanently closed to make way for a brand-new show, “Zootopia: Better Zoogether!”, expected to debut in winter 2025. TriceraTop Spin, Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures, and Fossil Fun Games The first round of closures began in DinoLand U.S.A. on January 13th, 2025. TriceraTop Spin, Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures, and Fossil Fun Game were closed down, and construction has begun on the brand-new land themed to the Tropical Americas, Pueblo Esperanza. The walls have been up since the closure, and things have been disappearing from behind the walls. Almost everything has been taken down behind the walls, including the large green dinosaur. DinoLand, U.S.A. It is definitely a sad sight, but we are also excited to see Pueblo Esperanza! DINOSAUR, Restaurantosaurus, the snack stands, and The Boneyard remain open. Disney hasn’t announced an official closing date for the rest of DinoLand. However, they have announced that “2025 is your year to visit before it goes extinct!” Disney’s Animal Kingdom Is Planning a Dramatic Attraction Overhaul — Here’s Everything We Know Disney’s Hollywood Studios Muppets Courtyard including Muppet*Vision 3D, PizzeRizzo, and Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano Muppet*Vision 3D AND PizzeRizzo closed on June 8th, and Muppets Courtyard has been walled off so construction can begin on the new Monsters, Inc. land. Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano has been closed since May 11th. Construction Walls up in Disney’s Hollywood Studios Don’t worry, the Muppets won’t be missing from Disney’s Hollywood Studios forever. The Muppets will eventually be taking over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster in 2026. NEW FUNNEL CAKE ALERT! Is This Hollywood Studios Snack Worth Trying? Disney Springs Starbucks on the West Side The Starbucks on the West Side of Disney Springs is temporarily closed for refurbishment. It closed on March 3rd, and it is expected to reopen in mid-summer. Starbucks is currently closed Have no fear, though — you can still get your Starbucks fix in Disney Springs! Head over to the Disney Springs Marketplace location, which will be open during the refurbishment. Caffeine headaches are not allowed in Disney Springs! Forget The Park Ticket! 2 Limited Time Drinks Are Available NOW At Disney Springs Disney World Hotels Shula’s Steak House — Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel Shula’s Steak House is about to close for good! This steak house, located inside the Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel, is accepting its last reservations on June 14th and will be closing for good on June 15th. Shula’s Steakhouse Shula’s Steak House will be closing to make way for a new restaurant, Bourbon Steak by Michael Mina. This will be the tenth location of Bourbon Steak and the third location in Florida. We are expecting Bourbon Steak to make its debut sometime in mid-summer 2025. Jellyrolls — Disney’s BoardWalk Jellyrolls at Disney’s BoardWalk officially closed on April 19th, 2025. This entertainment venue has provided our team with countless memories, and we know many others are also sad to see it close. Jellyrolls had its final farewell performance on April 19th and closed its doors forever on Disney’s BoardWalk. Jellyrolls However, this isn’t the end for Jellyrolls, as the bar has said they are “making a move.” We don’t know many details about that move yet, but we will keep you updated. Stormalong Bay and Hurricane Hanna’s– Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts Stormalong Bay is the shared pool between Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts. It features a beach, a lazy river, a large pool, and an exciting pirate ship slide! When we stopped by recently, we noticed that the pool had been filled back up with water. We are getting closer to its reopening. Stormalong Bay This pool area will be closed until June for refurbishment. While it’s closed, hotel guests can use the Tidal (Beach Club), Admiral (Yacht Club), and Dunes Cove (Beach Club) leisure pools. Hurricane Hanna’s, the pool bar at Stormalong Bay, will also be closed during the refurbishment. When you think of moseying through Frontierland in Magic Kingdom, going shopping probably isn’t the first thing that comes to your mind. Jessie in Frontierland! And we totally get why — there’s not a ton of shopping to do here! Instead, you may think about going to see Country Bear Musical Jamboree, riding Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, or find yourself pondering what the new Cars land, Piston Peak, will look like in the area. However, that might change soon, because as it turns out, there’s a NEW shop coming to Frontierland! Disney just quietly announced on its website that a new shop, Prairie Outpost, is reopening in Frontierland. Disney explained that you will be able to “Become a fashion pioneer when you shop for wide-brimmed hats, classic fedoras, customized headwear, and more at this stylish shop in Frontierland.” Now, we know, we know — how can a shop be new AND reopening at the same time? Let us explain… ©Disney This NEW shop is replacing a long-abandoned building that used to be home to Prairie Outpost & Supply, which sold iconic park confections like Disney character apples, Mickey Krispies, cookies, and more. We’re going from cookies to…chapeaus! (That’s a fancy word for HAT) Prairie Outpost & Supply Here’s a peek at the location — it’s right next door to the Country Bear Musical Jamboree. ©Disney We stopped by Magic Kingdom to take a look! Think of this as the “BEFORE” while we wait for the shop to reopen. We don’t have an opening date yet, but we’ll keep our eyes out for new details! There it is! We’re really looking forward to seeing this spot open and think it’ll be a fun addition to the area! This is especially true considering this land will be losing TWO attractions when Tom Sawyer Island and the Liberty Belle Riverboat close in July to make way for Piston Peak. At least having some more shopping to do will bring something new to the land! We’re looking forward to it! Looking for more recent Magic Kingdom news? Check out our posts below! It’s almost time to start thinking about Halloween Time in Disneyland. Now, Halloween Time is the BEST time to visit Disneyland (no, we are not taking any other opinions on that) because Disneyland goes ALL out for the spooky season. Both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure get Halloween decorations (pay attention, Disney World). There are also a TON of spooky snacks released in both parks and in Downtown Disney. Haunted Mansion even gets a Nightmare Before Christmas overlay. Halloween in California Adventure And then you’ve got Oogie Boogie Bash, Disneyland Resort’s special Halloween party. Well, before you buy tickets for Oogie Boogie Bash, we want to give you a heads up about this event. Oogie Boogie Bash will take place on select nights at Disney California Adventure from August 17th through October 31st. This special ticketed event will cost you anywhere from $139 to $199 per person, depending on the date, so you’ll want to know what you’re in for before you commit to buying tickets. Oogie Boogie Bash 2024 It’s hard to get tickets The first thing you need to know is if you REALLY want to go to Oogie Boogie Bash, tickets are hard to come by. That’s because the event is limited, meaning only a certain number of tickets are available each night. Now, this event is VERY popular (for good reason), so if you plan on getting tickets, you need to be online and ready to buy as soon as they’re available because they sell out fast. ©Disney Inspire Magic Key Holders can buy tickets as early as June 24th, while all other Magic Key Holders can buy tickets on June 25th. The general public will have to wait until June 26th to grab tickets. Buying tickets can be stressful (we’re talking Eras Tour tickets kind of stress), and there’s a chance you may not be able to get tickets. 7 Tricks That Will Make Buying Oogie Boogie Bash Tickets 10X EASIER Everything confirmed this year If YOU do get tickets, you’re in for a real treat because there is a lot to see and do at the party. Disney has already confirmed this year’s entertainment, including the return of the Frightfully Fun Parade and the Treat Trails, where you can see Disney villains. The walkthrough attraction, Villains Grove, will also return this year. Frightfully Fun Parade You’ll also get to take advantage of Halloween ride overlays during the party, including Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree, Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween, and Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark. You’ll even find a few special offerings like the Oogie Boogie Bash dessert party and the Oogie Boogie VIP Tour. Plus, PhotoPass photographers will be on hand to capture every moment at special photo ops around California Adventure. You can’t possibly do everything Another thing to be aware of is the need to plan your evening. We’ll be covering the party to give you an idea of what to expect, so you can start making a list of your Oogie Boogie Bash priorities. You’ll want to make sure to hit those things before you do other things at the party. Hades at Oogie Boogie Bash We also don’t recommend using valuable party time to ride attractions, although lines will be short. The party offers so much exclusive stuff to do that you don’t want to waste time on rides you can ride with a regular park ticket. Use that early entry time wisely You can actually get into California Adventure at 3 PM, although the party doesn’t start until 6 PM. You can use that time to meet a lot of characters that meet during the day (if you’re a Marvel fan, you can see a TON of characters in Avengers Campus during this time). You can also use that time to hop on rides. This is also a good time to check out merchandise because a lot of Oogie Boogie Bash merchandise is available during the day. Oogie Boogie Bash If one of your priorities is something that will inevitably have long lines throughout the evening, you can also use that time to get over to that area early and stake out a spot to do that thing as soon as the party officially starts. This is the only time you can wear a costume Disney has VERY specific rules about wearing costumes in the parks: you can’t — EXCEPT during Oogie Boogie Bash. You’re encouraged to wear costumes to the party, as long as they meet specific rules (they don’t drag on the ground, your face isn’t covered with a mask, etc. — you can read the rules on the Disneyland website). Oogie Boogie Bash wristband So if you want to dress up and go trick or treating like you did when you were a kid (because yes, there IS trick or treating), here’s your chance. The most popular treat trails have shorter lines later The first thing people do when they get to the party is start hitting up those popular treat trails, and some of those are VERY popular. For example, you’ll see long lines for those who want to go through Oogie Boogie’s treat trail (it is his party, after all). However, if you want to meet Oogie Boogie and don’t want to waste time in a long line, wait until later. Those treat trail lines get shorter as the evening progresses. Oogie Boogie at Oogie Boogie Bash That’s because everyone is heading towards those first, so by the end of the evening, a lot of folks (especially those with kids) have already left the party early. So wait it out and you’ll save a lot of time. Prioritize Characters You are going to see a lot of rare characters at Oogie Boogie Bash, and if you have some that are absolute musts, you’ll need to prioritize those over other characters. Some characters might have long lines throughout the night, so you’ll want to hit up those characters early. Clarabelle, Minnie, and Daisy as The Sanderson Sisters ALWAYS have long lines You’ll also see random villains pop up from time to time, so keep an eye out because you never know who might turn up. Make time for the parade The Frightfully Fun Parade is a MUST, and you’ll want to make sure to squeeze it into your evening. The good news is that you won’t have to stake out a spot too early, as this is a limited-ticket event. However, you’ll want to have an idea of where you’ll be watching it about 20-30 minutes before it starts. Frightfully Fun Parade You’ll also have two opportunities to see the parade. Pro tip: the second parade is generally less crowded, so you should have a wide choice of spots to watch it from. If you want to just celebrate Halloween, you don’t need a ticket If you just want to celebrate the spirit of Halloween in a general way, you may not want an Oogie Boogie Bash ticket. That’s because Disneyland has a lot of Halloween things going on during the day at the parks outside of the party. You’ve got decorations in both parks, you’ve got those ride overlays, you’ve got Jack and Sally meeting all day long in Disneyland, and more. There’s plenty of Halloween fun to be had outside Oogie Boogie Bash So you might want to ask yourself if the cost of a party ticket is worth it if you just want to have some general Halloween fun. You can have a spooky good time in Disneyland without an Oogie Boogie Bash ticket. BUT this is one of Disney’s best After Hours events With that said, though, if you can swing the price of a ticket and manage to get a ticket to Oogie Boogie Bash, you are in for a fun time. This is one of the best-themed After Hours events of the year, which is why tickets sell out so quickly for it. We hate to say it, but Oogie Boogie Bash is the superior party when compared to Disney World’s Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Even Sid thinks this is Disney’s best party So we think the cost of the ticket to Oogie Boogie Bash is well worth it. You’ll have a great time. We’ll be at the first Oogie Boogie Bash of the season, so stay tuned to DFB for more. DON'T DO IT ALONE! We know, we know, it’s not even Halloween season yet, but Disney’s always ahead of the game, and so are we! Jollywood Nights Map Jollywood Nights is a specially themed winter event that debuted in Disney’s Hollywood Studios two years ago. The first year the event debuted, Disney had to deal with a bit of a learning curve. But as the event carried on, things kept getting better, and now, a lot of us are wondering if we’ll see it return in 2025. While Disney hasn’t officially confirmed anything just yet, we have a pretty good feeling that Jollywood Nights will return in 2025. Here’s what we know. We just recently took a look at the Disney Careers website, where Disney posts its job offerings for all different departments, including entertainment, and spotted a casting call for something we’re VERY familiar with, because we’ve seen it before! ©Disney Yes, Disney is now looking for Seasonal Vocalists and Dancers for Jollywood Nights, so this is a pretty sure sign that it’s returning this holiday season! At this time, it’s not clear what shows will be returning or if we’ll see any new ones this year. These casting calls don’t specify which show the role is for, as it appears Disney doesn’t want to reveal that information just yet. Tip Top Club As of right now, this is the only mention we’ve heard of this event so far, but that’s not too uncommon, considering it is only June. We’ve been to Jollywood Nights every year so far and can’t wait for this year’s event. While we loved the entertainment from last year, we’re always open to seeing new shows Disney comes up with! Oogie Boogie You can learn alllll about the event with our handy guide! If you’re staying at a Disney World hotel, you’ll probably want to know where you can get quick food, and the good news is that every Disney World hotel has a quick service location where you can do just that. Riviera Resort If you happen to be staying at Disney’s Riviera Resort, that quick service location is Primo Piatto. We decided to stop by this dining spot to check out some eats for dinner to help you decide if it’s worth stopping by when you’re at the hotel and need a little pick-me-up or a meal. Atmosphere You’ll find Primo Piatto on the ground floor of the Riviera. The restaurant has two entrances: One on the first floor of the hotel and one by the pool. Primo Piatto There are two ways to order here: You can use Mobile Order or you can order at the cash registers. Counter If you use Mobile Order, you can pick up your order in the same spot you can grab napkins and utensils. Mobile Order pick-up Primo Piatto also has a grab-and-go section where you can…well…grab and go pre-packaged meals and snacks. Grab and Go A refrigerated section is stocked full of beverages and…GELATO (yep, you can get gelato here). Refrigerated beverages and snacks There’s also a beverages station with a Coca-Cola Freestyle Machine, as well as coffee and tea. If you purchase the Resort Refillable Mug, this is where you can fill it up. Fountain beverages, coffee, and tea There is also a lot of seating available with tables, banquettes, and booths. Seating But enough about this spot’s atmosphere — what’s on the menu here?! Menu Primo Piatto serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The lunch and dinner menu includes pizzas, several entrees, sandwiches, and salads, as well as desserts. Menu And now, onto the main event — the food! Eats First up, we grabbed the Bacon Cheddar Burger for $14.69. It’s made with Signature-blend Brisket and Chuck Burger, Bacon, Aged Cheddar, and Garlic Mayonnaise. Brisket and chuck? Oh, my! Well, let’s just say that sounds impressive, but this burger…well, it’s not. It actually was more like a standard Disney burger you could get at any quick service location. This was a real missed opportunity. Bacon Cheddar Burger The cheddar is nice and melted on the burger, and the patty is nice and thick, plus you get all the toppings. It’s not a BAD burger, but this is the Riviera. This is a deluxe hotel. This is a fancy place, but this burger…well, it ain’t fancy. Even the burger bun is just so NORMAL. Now, you can choose between regular fries or garlic parmesan fries as a side, so we obviously got the garlic parmesan, and the garlic and parmesan were basically just added to the fries as an afterthought. Really, Riviera? That’s the best you’ve got? And we know, we know, there are more exciting things on the menu. But it’s our job to try it all. So we had to see if this burger was serving…and it isn’t. Just a regular burger Okay, moving on… We also ordered the Croque Monsieur for $13.69, which is a Classic French Ham and Swiss Sandwich served with a choice of Side. Now, THIS, THIS is what we’d expect from the Riviera. It’s a classic Croque Monsieur with buttery bread that’s also got cheese melted on top of it with some scallions. Then you’ve got that creamy cheese on the inside with thinly sliced ham, and it’s creamy and a little salty and PERFECTION. Croque Monsieur It’s such a classic French sandwich, but it’s done beautifully here. We got regular fries as a side, but they’re Disney fries. We know what Disney fries taste like, right? Granted, we are fans of those fries. SO cheesy Okay, on to dessert. We stuck with the whole fries theme and got the Strawberry-Chocolate Fries, which are Cinnamon-Sugar French Fries topped with Chocolate Ganache, Strawberries, and Honey Cream Cheese for $6.99. Y’all…this was a great choice, and we might be slightly obsessing over this dessert. There are these juicy pieces of actual strawberries on them with some fun yellow sprinkles, cream cheese, and a chocolate syrup that tastes like Hershey’s, but it all works well because the fries themselves are like churros. Strawberry-Chocolate Fries That just makes this dessert SING. Even the sprinkles add a nice little crunch to each bite. Anyway, we wanted to inhale these, but we still have more food to try. So we’ll have to come back and order them again. SO good Finally, we grabbed the Riviera Cookie Box, which is…a box of cookies (yeah, big stretch there, right?) for $12.49. Riviera Cookie Box You get four cookies that are all a souped-up version of a chocolate chip cookie. So they’re a typical chocolate chip cookie, although we could also taste some kosher salt baked in, as well as walnuts, dried cherries, and pistachios. Yep, you could taste all the ingredients. Four cookies The pistachios and walnuts give the cookie a nice added crunch, but the cookie itself is very soft. We appreciated all the flavors, so well done, souped-up chocolate chip cookie. These cookies are EXTRA So…what do we think overall? Nosh or Not This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if… You want a quick meal. This is a quick service restaurant, so if you want to grab a quick bite to eat, this is where you can do it. And Mobile Order makes that even easier. You want something a little fancier than standard quick service. Apart from the burger, the other offerings on the menu here are a little extra than what you might find at, say, an All-Star Resort food court. You’re on a budget. The prices here are reasonable (for Disney World) and won’t break your budget. You should skip this Disney World spot if… You want a special burger. Look, you can get a standard Disney burger just about anywhere, and the one here is basically that. If you want something MORE in a burger, skip this location and head to D-Luxe Burger in Disney Springs, pop by Steakhouse 71 at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, or any of the other dozens of locations that have truly great burgers. You’re not staying at the Riviera. You’re probably not going to want to travel all the way to the Riviera just to eat at its quick service location unless you’re already on the Skyliner and headed in that general direction. You want a table service meal. If you’re looking for a table service dining experience, skip Primo Piatto and make a reservation at Topolino’s Terrace instead. Full spread Overall Although the burger at Primo Piatto proved disappointing, we would come back for the dessert fries and the Croque Monsieur if we were in the Riviera area. This is a good spot to grab a quick bite to eat if you’re staying at the hotel or if you’re able to get there easily via the Skyliner. Okay, so Disneyland is practically ALWAYS getting new snacks…like ALL the time. Honestly, we wouldn’t blame you if you had trouble keeping up. Disneyland Tomorrowland Now, we’ve already made our way through a lot of the 70th Anniversary Celebration snacks (and found a few favorites), but there’s a new snack that just popped up in Tomorrowland, and well, Disney, you had us interested because it’s a French fry-based snack. We can’t turn down an excuse to eat potatoes, so we headed over to Galactic Grill to check it out. Meet the Space Place Cottage Fries for $9.49. These are cottage fries tossed in Parmesan Butter and Parsley, served with House-made Ranch. Like we said, we were interested as soon as we heard “fries.” Cottage fries are basically potatoes cut into thick rounds that are baked or fried until they’re nice and crispy. Now, we’ll admit that THESE cottage fries were a little dry and even had a slightly stale texture, and that is why we’re so confused. Space Place Cottage Fries Because you see, the flavor is SO good. The garlic, parmesan, and parsley flavors are just a wonderful combination…and that ranch? Well, that is the best ranch on property. How could you do this to us, Disney? Now, we are willing to come back and try these again, just in case we got a bad batch or something, because these certainly have a lot of potential. They have potential Now, let’s talk about price. That’s another thing that disappointed us. For $9.49, you really don’t get a lot. This is more of a shareable snack than an entree, and believe it or not, Disney has it listed as an entree. We don’t think so. So, yeah, these are worth a try for the ranch dip, though, so there’s that. Don’t want to go through all of the stress of booking your Disney World trip alone? Have you noticed that Disney adults are entering their plush accessory era? ©Disney If you’ve been scrolling through Disney TikTok or strolling through the parks lately, you’ve probably seen a bunch of backpacks with tiny plushies strapped to them like the stars of their own show. Yeah, welcome to the Mini Mix-Its moment. These plush cuties aren’t just adorable — they’re collectible, wearable, and totally park-day ready. Let’s have a look at the Mini Mix-Its plushes that Disney adults are totally obsessed with right now. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Lady Disney Mini Mix-Its Plush ©Disney Let’s just say it: Lady is the moment. With her long floppy ears, sweet embroidered features, and that iconic “Bella Notte” vibe, this plush brings vintage Disney romance energy to your park outfit. The detachable plush hat? A checkered-tablecloth-and-spaghetti combo inspired by her dinner date at Tony’s Restaurant. It’s giving picnic chic, and we’re here for it. ©Disney Even better? This plush celebrates the 70th anniversary of Lady and the Tramp, so if you’re the type to cry during the spaghetti scene (hi, same), this one’s a no-brainer. Pair it with Tramp (sold separately), and you’ve got a full couple’s costume in plush form. View on Disney Store White Rabbit Disney Mini Mix-Its Plush ©Disney Is this the cutest thing to come out of Alice in Wonderland since the Dormouse? Honestly, yes. The White Rabbit Mini Mix-Its plush is part of the Mad Tea Party Series and brings all the chaotic tea-time energy. You can even strap him to your bag and channel his “I’m late!” panic as you sprint to your next Lightning Lane reservation. ©Disney With his embroidered features and soft construction, he’s cuddly enough to squeeze, but it’s the teacup hat that makes him stand out. He looks like he just spun off the ride at Magic Kingdom — and honestly, we love a dizzy vibe. View on Disney Store Donald Duck Disney Mini Mix-Its Plush ©Disney Donald has entered the chat — and he’s ready to rocket. This Magic Kingdom Series plush comes with a tiny hat inspired by the Astro Orbiter ride, and it’s pretty much the cutest launch sequence you’ve ever seen. Between the soft fabric and embroidered details, Donald is giving “spacebound sass” in the best way. ©Disney You’ll want to clip him to your bag for your Tomorrowland day or just keep him on display at home next to your Dole Whip-scented candle. He’s versatile like that. View on Disney Store Pluto Disney Mini Mix-Its Plush ©Disney Spooky but still adorable? Pluto nailed the assignment. This plush is part of the Magic Kingdom Series and comes with a hat inspired by the gargoyles in The Haunted Mansion. It even has satin candle details. Yes, SATIN. CANDLES. If you’re a Disney adult who lives for all things Mansion, this is your guy. ©Disney He clips onto a backpack, purse, or fanny pack just as easily as the rest, and the hat swaps make it extra fun if you’ve collected others in the series. One of Disney Cruise Line‘s new ships is the Disney Adventure, which will set sail from Singapore in December 2025. As you can see, it’s still a work in progress. ©Disney While the ship still has a lot of construction left to go before it’s ready to sail and begin welcoming passengers, Disney has already started casting for the live entertainment on board. We know about some of the shows that will happen onboard, and now we know that at least ONE of them will include a new type of entertainment! The Disney Careers website now lists a casting call for the Disney Adventure! Disney Cruise Line is casting for female-identifying performers between the heights of 5’7″ and 5’10” for live entertainment onboard! It doesn’t state exactly what show Disney is casting for, but we have a few ideas about what it COULD be. Listen to this line, “For the first time in Forever… Disney Cruise Line is casting for Puppeteers!” Hey, we’d recognize that song lyric anywhere! ©Disney Careers Disney is searching for performers skilled in four different types of puppetry: large puppet operators, rod and hand puppet performers, EXO suit puppet operators, and specialty puppet roles. So, what could these performers be doing? Well, we know that the Disney Adventure cruise ship will feature the Enchanted Summer Restaurant with two dining rooms inspired by Tangled and Frozen, and with that hint in the casting call, could these puppeteers be doing something Frozen-related? ©Disney While these performers may be used in a range of shows across the ship, they could also be casting for the new Moana: Call of the Sea show. Disney describes that show as being a musical retelling of Moana “as told by a captivating ensemble of island storytellers, accompanied by music, movement, puppetry and water effects.” ©Disney As for the other entertainment on board (which, again, could also contain puppetry!), you’ll also be able to experience: Avengers Assemble! — a live show featuring Marvel characters, jaw-dropping stunts, and special effects ©Disney Cruise Line Duffy and The Friend Ship — This show features Duffy and Friends, plus Tippy Blu (the captain), and according to Disney, it’ll have “captivating songs, stunning visuals and joyous moments, discover the magic of the ocean, the power of imagination and the true meaning of friendship.” ©Disney Cruise Line Captain Jack Sparrow & the Siren Queen — This is a live show featuring Captain Jack Sparrow live and in person, and various screens will bring the Siren Queen to life ©Disney Cruise Line Remember — Disney describes this show as an “all-new musical extravaganza [that] enlists heroes from Coco, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin and other favorite Disney and Pixar animated films to restore EVE’s memories through the power of music, hope and treasured remembrances.” ©Disney Disney Seas the Adventure — Here you’ll join some of your favorite Disney and Pixar characters for a show “filled with rousing renditions of iconic Disney tunes” ©Disney Baymax Super Exercise Expo — Join Hiro and Baymax in a high-energy musical exercise routine!
