  5. Halloween at Disneyland is coming soon! This season comes with rare characters, spooky parades, and free candy – but here at Disney Food Blog, we can’t forget about all of the food! Haunted Heatwave Pizza Disney just confirmed some of the Halloween menus are coming back for 2026, and we just got a sneak peek! The Heatwave Pizza from Alien Pizza Planet is returning this year! This is a pizza with spiced blush sauce topped with mozzarella and pepper jack, Italian sausage, classic and crispy cupped pepperoni, smoked bratwurst, and sliced red Fresno chiles, garnished with basil and hot honey drizzle. Haunted Heatwave Pizza This is basically a meat-lover’s pizza with a bit of sweet heat from the hot honey, but it wasn’t as hot as we were expecting. Without paying attention, it’s kind of hard to make out what’s what, as everything just kinda tastes like a spicy sausage or pepperoni from the hot honey and chili flakes. We did enjoy it overall, but just know it won’t knock your socks off! Haunted Heatwave Pizza Also returning this year is the Oogie Boogie Lemonade from Smokejumpers Grill. This non-alcoholic drink is made with Green Apple Minute-Maid Lemonade, cherry-flavored popping spheres, and raspberry sauce. ©Disney Plus, the Slow Burnin’ Mac & Cheese Cone is coming back to Disney California Adventure at the Cozy Cone Motel 3 – Chili Cone Queso. This is fresh-cooked pasta tossed with a spicy red pepper cheese sauce in a bread cone topped with crushed chile-cheese puffs! Slow-Burning Mac and Cheese We think this cauldron is pumpernickel bread, which explains the dark colored dough. But pumpernickel isn’t our jam, so this wasn’t a win for us. Inside this cauldron is macaroni in a spicy red pepper cheese sauce. It’s definitely got a fiery hue. It is, indeed, spicy, which is great if you love heat! The bright red topping is crushed red chile-cheese puffs (which are basically Flamin’ Hot Cheetos!). They add a little textural interest, but there’s just not much of it on there. Gimme more, please! Overall, the Slow Burnin’ Mac and Cheese Cone was just okay, which is a bummer because it had so much potential! Slow-Burnin’ Mac and Cheese And for dessert, the Caramel Apple Cheesecake is also coming back to the Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe. This is a caramel cheesecake with caramelized apple filling finished with caramel drip, orange and white chocolate mousse, chocolate flakes, and a chocolate bat. ©Disney And, over at Paradise Garden Grill, you can grab the Chilaquiles Carnitas Torta with red chilaquiles, refried beans, avocado spread, queso fresco, pickled red onions, and a fried egg served with chips. Chilaquiles Carnitas Torta from Paradise Garden Grill We’re so excited to eat all of the treats we haven’t tried yet at Oogie Boogie Bash. Stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more Disney food news! 7. Join me as I sail the Pixar way on the Disney Fantasy, experiencing Pixar‑themed foods, activities, and shows throughout the sailing. When our Disney Cruise Line bus pulled into port, the entire bus went quiet, then quickly filled with excitement as Dumbo on the stern came into view, and the Disney Fantasy towered beside us. Pulling into port always feels like the start of something special, and this time was no different. As I stepped onboard, the Pixar energy was already in full swing, from a vibrant Pixar Days at Sea backdrop in the atrium to Disney Cruise Line crew members warmly welcoming my family. Several guests were embracing the theme with Pixar‑inspired outfits and I loved spotting all the creative details. My favorite was a family who each wore a letter spelling out “Pixar” on their shirts, with one child dressed as the iconic lamp. It was so clever! My Incredibles hat quickly turned into a conversation starter, sparking chats with fellow guests about our favorite Pixar characters. One moment that really stuck with me was seeing Buzz Lightyear meet a “mini” Buzz. When the child looked up at him, you could tell he was meeting his hero, a true Pixar moment coming to life. It was my first time sailing on the Disney Fantasy, and with several days of activities designed to fully immerse me into my favorite Pixar stories, I couldn’t wait to dive in. Just Keep Dining: Pixar Fun Begins at Animator’s Palate My first night set the stage for Pixar storytelling at Animator’s Palate, where a Finding Dory‑themed dinner waited for us as part of Disney Cruise Line’s rotational dining. As Dory, Crush, and friends swam all around the restaurant, the space truly came to life. My favorite part was when Crush taught a couple how to say “I love you” in whale! Sigh. You could really feel the love between those two. For dinner, I went with the Black Bean Chipotle Cakes served over corn kernels and brown rice, topped with tomato‑cilantro salsa. It was a flavorful dish I couldn’t get enough of! And for those craving something different, the menu had plenty of delicious options to choose from, including rich Penne Bolognese, a perfectly grilled tuna steak, lemon‑thyme marinated chicken, herb‑crusted pork chop, and a ginger‑teriyaki dusted Angus beef tenderloin. When Pixar Days at Sea Steals the Spotlight Day two, the day we’ve all been waiting for, finally arrived: Pixar Day at Sea! To me, the ship felt brighter and more energetic, with Pixar surprises happening everywhere you looked. There was so much going on that choosing what to do became part of the fun. Choose your own adventure, anyone? Meet the Legends: Pixar Pals Everywhere You Turn Some of my favorite character encounters around the ship included meeting Woody, Buzz, Mrs. Incredible, and Edna Mode. Seeing so many Pixar pals out and about made the day feel special. Meeting Edna Mode was just as iconic as you’d expect. Darling, she was incredible. Speaking of, at some point I realized how often I was saying the word, “incredible.” The characters, the music, the electric atmosphere, all incredible. I swore I would ease up on the word, but with more Pixar activities ahead, you can imagine how that went. High Energy, Big Laughs, and a Little Animation Pixar Day at Sea struck a perfect balance between upbeat dancing and relaxing creative outlets. Crush’s Totally Awesome Pool Party brought the excitement with upbeat music and games, turning the deck into one big dance party. The music felt like it was straight from the East Australian Current, with surf‑inspired beats and familiar sounds from Finding Nemo. With Crush leading the fun and guests jumping in to play along, the energy was contagious and “totally awesome!” Later, I slowed things down during a Learn to Draw Pixar Characters session with a Disney animator, which gave me a new appreciation for the artistry behind these characters. Trash to Treasure: Build Your Own Forky One of my favorite activities was Build Your Own Forky. The space was filled with guests getting creative and bringing each one to life in their own unique way. There was something so fun about seeing everyone’s personality come through. No two Forkys looked the same! Not only did I create my own little Forky pal, but I also struck up a conversation with the woman sitting next to me as we worked on our creations. She shared that she was making a Forky to surprise her daughter who was napping with her husband. She planned to leave Forky outside their stateroom door for her to discover when she woke up. I wish I could’ve seen her surprise! As we chatted and added the finishing touches, we decided our Forkys were friends too. Two adorable besties. No Capes, Just Creativity and the Cutest Competition Pixar Day at Sea had more standout events ahead. Jack‑Jack’s Incredible Diaper Dash had the crowd fully invested from start to finish, with tiny racers crawling toward their favorite people cheering them on. Later, Edna Mode’s Style on Parade delivered colorful, Pixar‑inspired outfits and big smiles. Guests strutted the stage alongside Edna, Frozone, and Mrs. and Mr. Incredible. The dancers also dressed like Edna, iconic bob and glasses included, which completely stole the show! A Day Full of Pixar, With a Side of Something Delicious That evening, Pixar storytelling continued with a Pixar Day at Sea‑themed dinner menu. Highlights included Princess Merida’s Smoked Salmon and Smoked Trout Rillette, Russell’s Baked Shrimp “Mac and Cheese”, Incredible Cobb Salad, and Massimo’s Linguini Pasta. I ordered the Lava “Poke” Bowl with Tofu, Tamari, Cucumber, Red Cabbage, Radish, Brown Rice, Sesame, Avocado, Cilantro, and Wasabi Lemon Drizzle. The meal wrapped up on a sweet note with the Playful Pixar Ball dessert with baked vanilla cheesecake, blueberry filling, lemon lime, and almond cake. It was almost too cute to eat! Almost. More Characters, More Music, More Smiles That night, the Pixar Pals Celebration took over the deck as it came alive with an electric atmosphere of music, movement and pure Pixar joy. Music was pulsing through the ship, and you could feel the beat under your feet as the deck filled with dancing, laughter and lots of bubbles. Kids were running in circles and everyone was moving to the music! Then Party Saurus Rex jumped onto the stage, and I completely lost my mind. I’ve only ever seen him in the Party Saurus Rex short on Disney+, so seeing him in person was unexpected. My family and I still joke about his “What up, fishes?” line to this day, so getting to see him in person made it even more special. Each time a different Pixar pal took the stage, they had new music and new moves. It really was the ultimate Pixar Party at Sea! And as if the day couldn’t get any better, I even returned to my stateroom to find a surprise visit from WALL‑E waiting for me. I love Pixar Day at Sea! The Pixar Magic Continued the Next Day I kicked my third sail-day off at the Hey Howdy Breakfast with Woody and Friends, a Toy Story‑themed breakfast experience which is included with cruise fare and available by reservation. The breakfast blends playful theming, character appearances, and delicious breakfast cuisine. My favorite dish was Bonnie’s Plant‑Based Hot Breakfast, which included plant‑based scrambled eggs, sausage patties, a pancake, hashbrown, and grilled tomato. After soaking up some sunshine at Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, I changed into my Joy‑inspired yellow dress and headed to Channel Your Emotions, a silent disco hosted by Joy from Inside Out. I couldn’t help but laugh when I first walked in, all you could hear were muffled voices, a little singing, and the sound of shoes scuffling across the floor. But the second I put on my headphones and heard my favorite songs, everything changed. Each color channel represented a different emotion, with red bringing high-energy rock or the occasional punk rock, blue leaning into all the sad bops, and green playing upbeat, feel-good pop. I loved switching between channels and seeing who was on the same vibe as me. You’d lock eyes with someone across the dance floor, switch to their color, and give a little nod of approval before dancing along together. Joy often spoke through the headphones to hype everyone up, but the best part was when she brought us all onto the green channel. Suddenly, the whole room was dancing to the same song and that’s when the energy really peaked, with conga lines forming, people jumping together, and the entire floor moving as one. One of my favorite moments was meeting my now bestie Sam, who absolutely stole the show. He often confidently broke it down in the center of the dance floor before shouting, “This is the best day of my life!” Honestly, I felt the same way. By the end, my face hurt from smiling so much, it truly was the best day ever. Ratatouille Recipes and Monster‑Sized Laughs On the final day, I joined Anyone Can Cook, a Ratatouille-inspired culinary demonstration led by Chef Margot that had everyone’s attention from start to finish. As she walked us through in creating the iconic dish, ratatouille, it genuinely made me feel like I could cook it at home. And I have to say, it was a smart move on Chef Margot’s part not to wear a chef hat… otherwise the audience might have been skeptical that she wasn’t getting a little help from our friend Remy. Unless you were sitting where I was, because I spotted Remy perched on a little girl’s shoulder as she carefully watched the demonstration, ready to sample the dish. Later that night, I stopped by Mike’s Open Mic planning to watch the show, until I ended up on stage reading a Mad Lib‑style story. From quick improv moments to Mad Lib‑style storytelling, the show leaned fully into audience participation, making the show feel spontaneous and a little bit chaotic, but in the best way. My line of the night? “We smell because we squat.” Yes, I really said that. Proof That the Best Days Are Even Better at Sea Pixar Days at Sea isn’t just about what you do. It’s about how it makes you feel. From larger‑than‑life experiences like the Pixar Pals Celebration to delightful, unexpected ones like Forky friendships and joyful dance floors, Pixar stories showed up everywhere on the Disney Fantasy. 12. One thing that you can always count on Disney World is that all the offerings in Disney Springs change very frequently. Disney Springs We’re constantly seeing rotating snacks at the dining locations and new shopping opportunities pop up around Disney Springs. They’re even getting a new attraction called Level99 soon! But in addition to that, some new stores are moving in, and we just learned the location of one of them. It was revealed a little while back that a Cole Haan store would be coming to Disney Springs, but we didn’t know much about the shop’s location outside of a teaser for the Town Center area. Now, we know that Cole Haan will be replacing the former location of Johnston Murphy. Cole Haan In case you haven’t heard of Cole Haan before, the lifestyle brand has more than 500 stores worldwide. They specialize in premium footwear, accessories, and outerwear with locations in the United States, Europe, and Asia. An opening date hasn’t yet been revealed, but we’ll be on the lookout for any announcements. Up close look The storefront has been decorated with posters and advertisements showcasing some of the brand’s products. The windows and doors have the new shop name, but there’s no large sign installed above the entrance yet (as of our last visit). A look at the store! This isn’t the only shopping change coming to Disney Springs, though! The clothing store Shore closed recently to be replaced by Vuori. The storefront will be getting a renovation before the athleisure brand moves in. Also, Francesca’s has closed in Town Center as part of a nationwide store closure. RIP Francesca’s We’re definitely excited about the new offerings coming soon to Disney Springs, though. Gideon’s Bakehouse is opening a new dining location in The Landing called Six Ravens, and we’ve been monitoring progress closely on that spot. (You know how much we love Gideon’s!) Six Ravens On top of that, Level99 will take over the former home of DisneyQuest and the NBA Experience. It’s a massive activity center complete with challenges, games, obstacle courses, and interactive puzzles. It’ll also be home to a bar with specialty eats and drinks. That opens this summer. Level99 at Disney Springs We can’t wait to check out all the new things coming to Disney Springs and report back to you in the future! 14. Listen, over the years, our team has made some major mistakes in Disney World. Cinderella Castle You don’t get to be Disney World pros without making a few hiccups along the way, and thankfully, we’ve learned from those experiences. That’s why we’ve rounded up a list of things that we’re NOT doing again in Disney World. If you follow this list, your odds of a successful trip increase exponentially! 1. Pack Only One Pair of Shoes Starting off the list, we’ve got to chat about footwear. First of all, you should know that it’s important to break in any shoes you’re packing BEFORE you get to Disney World. If you wear new shoes in the parks, you’ll be blistered by midmorning with all the walking you have to do. But even more than that, do NOT go to Disney World with just one single pair of shoes! HOKA shoes in Disney World SO many different things could happen to make your solitary pair of shoes unwearable — they could get soaked through during a rainstorm, or they could give you blisters, or they could even get damaged because theme parks are hard on footwear. You never know! It’s a good idea to bring backup shoes just in case. Trust us. Our Official Shoe Rankings for Disney World 2. Skip Trying the Seasonal Snacks Yes, I know that the seasonal treats may not be as interesting if you know that you’ll never get to try them again, but I’ve eaten hundreds of snacks in Disney World, and some of the very best — my favorite treats — have been limited-time offerings. Even though I only got to have them once or twice, it was worth it just to taste them! Spicy Pork Spring Rolls for Halloween in 2025 Plus, the more people who try the seasonal treats and love them, the more likely it is that Disney is to make them permanent fixtures on the menu! If there’s something that you taste while on your trip and you mention it in one of those post-trip surveys or tell a Cast Member, that feedback is often heard and received. Some of the Best Disney World Snacks So Far in 2026 3. Forget to Make a Late-Night Dining Plan If you’re hoping to stay in the parks late (think, any time past 10PM), then you might struggle to find some food when you’re done. And when it has been a few hours since you’ve eaten, Disney World can be suuuuper draining. We’ve been the people struggling to find snacks at midnight before, and that journey often ends up leading to a gas station on Disney property. McDonald’s at Disney World The good news is that there are some options; you just may need to plan in advance for them. The McDonald’s on Disney World property is open 24/7, but you may need a car to get there. You can also DoorDash and Uber Eats food to your resort, as some fast food restaurants off Disney property stay open until the wee hours of the morning. If you’re going to stay up late one night, it might be a good idea to pre-plan and stock your hotel room with snacks. Which Disney World Hotel Food Courts Are Open the Latest? 4. Book Too Many Table Service Meals Don’t get us wrong, many of Disney World’s table service restaurants are incredible, and it can be super hard to choose which you want to visit during your trip. However, squeezing too many sit-down meals into your vacation can mean a wild dining budget as well as limited time to do other things. Full spread from our meal at Cinderella’s Royal Table Typically, a table service meal will last you 1-2 hours, and if you’re doing them for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, you’ll be taking up quite a bit of your day just with dining. On top of that, it’s probably going to be way too much food! Disney table service portions are surprisingly large. The Best Disney World Restaurants 5. Force My Group to Stay Together the Entire Trip Navigating a trip with a large group involves a lot of planning and even more negotiating. So if you’re traveling with several people who have different to-do lists, budgets, or energy levels, don’t think that you all have to stay together the entire time. Sometimes splitting up can be the best thing to keep everyone content. Disney’s Hollywood Studios One half of the group can hit up Tower of Terror while the other half does something more chill, like a theater show. Some folks may want to do a table service meal, while the rest save money by dining at a fast and easy spot. And if a few people in the travel party are ready to head back to the hotel for a break, it’s not a requirement for everyone to go — Disney Resort transportation is free and easy to use! Sometimes the happiest trips are ones where the group splits up and then comes back together at designated times. 11 Disney World Restaurants Where Big Groups Are No Problem 6. Leave Behind the Rain Gear Okay, listen here — it rains a LOT in Disney World. It could rain at any time of the year, and in the summer in particular, it sometimes rains daily. Storms pop up seemingly out of nowhere. We can’t count the number of times we’ve been caught unaware without any rain gear to protect us. Frogg Toggs Poncho So if you don’t want to walk around with soggy socks and shoes or you don’t want to force your kids to sit in a soaked stroller, you need the basics. Keep a few ponchos on hand, pack a cover for the stroller, and maybe grab an umbrella just in case. Whatever you need to do to be comfortable in inclement weather! Our Tips and Tricks for Conquering Rainy Days in Disney World 7. Forgo a Resort or Rest Day During a Long Trip If you’re planning to be in Disney World for more than a long weekend, you’re going to NEED a rest day, especially if you’re planning to hit all four parks. This means that sometime during your trip (preferably somewhere mid-week), you should spend a day focused on relaxation and recovery. If you don’t, you’ll be sore, tired, and probably a little miserable come the end of the week. Stormalong Bay Pool There are a few different things you could do with your day off — you can explore your resort, you could visit Disney Springs for a few hours, you could go hotel hopping on Disney transportation — all great options. The main goal here is to do less than you would be doing with a park day. So, probably start with sleeping in…if you can! See More of Our Recommended Rest Day Options Here! 8. Ignore a “Little Headache” on a Long, Hot Day We’ve learned through many disasters that a “little headache” during a Disney World park day is probably a sign that there’s something wrong. What you may think is just a pesky dull throb is really a sign that you need to do something, whether it be eat a solid meal, drink more water, or get out of the hot sun. First Aid will have some basic supplies like medicine and bandages Those headaches are typically signals to your body that there’s something you need to fix, and if you don’t, you could end up with heat illness or some other bigger health issue. We’ve seen it happen a lot, particularly in the summer! Of course, if you need medical attention or want something to ease the headache, you can also visit First Aid in every park. 10 Things I Wish I’d Known Before Getting Food Poisoning in Disney World 9. Waste Snack Credits on the Dining Plan One of our big areas of expertise here at Disney Food Blog is the Disney Dining Plan, and we’re constantly telling people the best ways to use their credits to get the most out of the plan that they paid for. When it comes to snack credits, this means you should usually try to choose snacks that cost at least $8 when paid for out of pocket — that’ll help get you the most bang for your buck. Waffle from Sleepy Hollow! But when you get to the end of your vacation, and you only have a little bit of time left, it’s more important that you SPEND those snack credits, whatever you buy! The unused credits do not transfer over from one vacation to the next, so if you must, spend those credits on bottled beverages or prepackaged snacks that you can take home with you. Don’t leave credits just sitting in your account! How to Maximize Your Disney Dining Plan Credits 10. Plan Poorly After a Late Night in the Parks There are plenty of times you may find yourself out late at night in Disney World. Holiday parties, After Hours events, and Extended Evening Hours all typically keep people up past midnight to maximize park time. Or sometimes, Magic Kingdom stays open until 11PM, and you might decide to go from park open to park close. However, if you’re going to stay out late, we encourage you to think rationally about your plans for the next day! EPCOT After Hours For example, if you’re doing an After Hours event that ends at 1AM, you won’t be able to get back to your hotel and get to bed until probably 2:30AM. If that’s the case, you’re definitely not going to be in the mood to rope drop Animal Kingdom at 7AM the next morning. It’s also probably not the day to plan an early breakfast reservation. We know from experience. 4 9AM Habits Expert Disney Fans Practice 11. Only Eat Inside the Parks There is some delicious food in the Disney World theme parks if you know where to look, but there are some true hidden gems outside of the theme parks! If you never leave the parks to eat, then you’ll miss out on some of the best dining in all of Disney World. Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ Disney Springs has multiple restaurants that are owned and operated by James Beard Award-winning chefs, and some of our favorite spots to dine are located at various Disney Resorts (like Steakhouse 71, Toledo, ‘Ohana, or Boma). It’s not just about the sit-down spots, either. You can only find Mickey beignets in Disney World at Port Orleans Resort — French Quarter, and you’ll have to go to Gasparilla Island Grill at the Grand Floridian to get one of the BEST mac and cheeses on property. There are so many delicious ways to enjoy your visit outside the parks! We’ve Eaten at Every Disney World Hotel Restaurant. These Are the Best. 12. Wait to Ride an Attraction Until Its Closing Day Sadly, not all Disney World attractions are here to stay, and we’ve seen several closures of beloved offerings over the years. For those who are dedicated fans, you may consider planning your trip to say farewell on the attraction’s last day of operation, but that may not work out as well as you think. DINOSAUR (RIP!) The attraction will likely have a very long line that day, and if it has any downtime, including technical glitches or a weather-related closure, your plans might be ruined. You never know what will happen on the final day, so allow yourself some flexibility by planning to say goodbye a week or more ahead of time. See What the Final Day of DINOSAUR in Animal Kingdom Was Like Here 13. Make a Trip Only About the To-Do List We often advise folks to make a to-do list when visiting Disney World. A lot of times, those lists include your must-do rides, entertainment options, snacks, and restaurants. But you shouldn’t gauge the success of your trip based solely on how much you “check off” the list. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Things can go wrong on any vacation, and it’s important to remember that you can have a good time no matter how much you accomplish. If you don’t get to do every ride you wanted, you still get the chance to visit the parks and spend time with your loved ones. And isn’t that what it’s all about? Sometimes the best memories from Disney trips are the ones you make in the in-between or the surprises you discover along the way. 15. Disneyland Resort has seen quite a few closures lately, with rides, restaurants, and more undergoing refurbishments. Sleeping Beauty Castle While some rides have recently reopened, Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blasters, Silly Symphony Swings, and even the Disneyland Monorail are all still closed for refurbishment. Unfortunately, it looks like the list of Disneyland closures is getting even longer, as we spotted two more calendar updates that might impact your next trip. If you’ve got an upcoming Disneyland trip planned, make sure you pay attention to these new closures! The Frontierland Shootin’ Exposition — where you can take aim and fire at nearly 100 targets during an old-time Wild West shootout — will be closing on July 6th with no current reopening date listed on the Disneyland website. Frontierland Shootin’ Exposition Not only that, but it looks like the Tinker Bell meet and greet at Pixie Hollow may also be closing for refurbishment. Though nothing is listed on the refurbishment calendar at this time, it shows no times available from July 5th to as far as the calendar goes. This could just mean that the calendar has not yet been updated with meet-and-greet times after July 5th, but it might also mean that this meet-and-greet location will be closing for refurbishment. Either way, we’ll be sure to keep an eye on things and let you know of any changes. Tinker Bell Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters closed on April 13th with no set reopening date. On the Disneyland ride, you’ll take aim and fire your laser to defeat Zurg during a thrilling space battle! Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blasters In addition, the Silly Symphony Swings closed on April 27th with no confirmed reopening date. 18. For many, room service is an essential element of a hotel stay, arguably seen as more of a basic necessity than a “perk.” We miss room service! Which makes it all the more surprising that right now there are only TWO locations on Disney property where hotel guests can order room service! The first is Disney’s flagship resort, the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Guests staying at the hotel can order private dining options to their rooms from both breakfast and dinner menus. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort Breakfast, which is offered from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM, offers appetizers including oatmeal, a yogurt parfait, a fresh fruit bowl, and avocado toast, and full entrees including Eggs Benedict, Mickey Waffles, a breakfast sandwich, buttermilk pancakes, and more. Perhaps the most unique offering is the Grand Family Breakfast. This $95 offering serves four and includes scrambled eggs, Mickey Waffles, bacon, sausage, Cheesy Hash Brown Casserole, Biscuits, Fresh Fruit, butter, jam, maple syrup, Minute Maid Orange Juice, and guests’ choice of hot beverage. The menu also offers children’s options, as well as wine, beer, and cocktails. The dinner menu, available from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM, offers appetizers, drinks, soups, and salads, and is highlighted by entrees including the Grand Floridian Cafe Signature Burger, Buttermilk-Fried Chicken, Miso-Glazed Salmon, Farmer’s Market Vegetable Curry, Slow-braised Pork Shank, a Roast Beef Sandwich, and more. In-Room Dining at the Grand Floridian If you’d prefer to leave your Disney hotel to eat, our Guide to Disney World Dining pulls it all together so you can stop stressing and focus on the fun without feeling like you’re missing a thing! 22. Recently, Disney has announced new lands, attractions, and entertainment headed to the theme parks, new ships coming to the Disney Cruise Line, and so much more. But what about those projects that Disney hasn’t exactly announced yet? EPCOT Keeping up with the latest construction permits Disney World files can be a great way to find out just what is going on around the parks and hotels, and we recently spotted one for a popular EPCOT pavilion! We’re always on the hunt for the latest construction permits filed by Disney to get an idea of what sort of changes might be coming to the parks, and we recently spotted a new Notice of Commencement filed for the Mexico Pavilion at EPCOT. Mexico Pavilion Pyramid A permit to “provide labor, material, and/or electrical for construction” has been filed that matches the address of EPCOT’s Mexico Pavilion. While that description is not very specific, it could point to anything from paint updates, electrical work, or even larger set element updates. Inside the Mexico pavilion in EPCOT The contractor listed on the permit is Buena Vista Construction Company, Disney’s in-house construction company. Since they’re not contracting the work out to a larger or specialized firm, we’re anticipating that whatever changes are linked to this permit won’t be anything too extensive. Of course, we’ll keep an eye on the Mexico Pavilion either way and will let you know if any significant changes are on the horizon. 23. Disney World has plenty of hidden shortcuts, secret menu items, and “wait…you can do WHAT?” vacation hacks. Some are truly useful. Some are the theme park equivalent of finding a nickel in a couch cushion. Cute! But we are not reorganizing our whole day around it. This one? This one is actually worth knowing. Summit Plummet at Blizzard Beach Because tucked away at Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park is a ride entrance trick that can save your legs, your patience, and possibly your entire family from staging a soggy mutiny halfway up Mount Gushmore. We’re talking about the Blizzard Beach Chairlift. And yes, it is more than just a cute little ski resort detail. It may be the sneaky key to reaching way more slides than you realized. The Chairlift Isn’t Just for the View At first glance, the Blizzard Beach Chairlift looks like theming doing what Disney theming does best — convincing us that a Florida water park is somehow an abandoned ski resort where everyone collectively decided, “Well, the snow melted, but let’s make the best of it.” But this ride is not just there for ambiance. Blizzard Beach The Chairlift takes guests up Mount Gushmore, which is where some of Blizzard Beach’s biggest attractions live. The Chairlift provides access to attractions like Summit Plummet and Slush Gusher, and it has its own rules, including a 32-inch height requirement. Guests 48 inches and under must ride with an adult, and a gondola is available for guests with disabilities if you ask a Cast Member for assistance. Blizzard Beach So yes, it is transportation. It is also a mini attraction. And in the grand Disney tradition of “the thing you thought was decorative is secretly useful,” it can make your Blizzard Beach day a whole lot easier. REVIEWS: What to Eat (And What to AVOID) at Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park The Secret: You Can Reach WAY More Than You Think Here’s the tip: you can use the Chairlift to access almost every major slide area at Blizzard Beach. That means instead of hoofing it upstairs over and over again like you’re training for the Olympic sport of Wet Staircase Regret, you can let the Chairlift do a lot of the work. Ski Lift at Blizzard Beach Now, there are a couple of important notes here. Summit Plummet and Slush Gusher still require a short staircase once you get off the Chairlift at the top. So if you’re headed for the big-daddy, straight-down, question-your-life-choices slide, yes, you’ll still need to climb a little. But compared to making the full climb? That short staircase feels like Disney is offering you a polite handshake instead of a full cardio ambush. Blizzard Beach And for many families, that matters. Water park days sound relaxing in theory until you remember you are walking barefoot on hot pavement, carrying towels, chasing kids, trying to remember where your sunglasses went, and somehow becoming personally responsible for everyone’s sunscreen reapplication schedule. A shortcut is not a luxury. A shortcut is survival. Wait, What About Runoff Rapids? Runoff Rapids is one of those Blizzard Beach attractions that guests often assume requires a stair climb, and historically, that has generally been the official answer. However, in practice, things can vary day to day. We’ve seen that the gate near the Chairlift area leading toward Runoff Rapids is sometimes open, especially when the park isn’t crowded. ©Disney When that happens, you may be able to reach Runoff Rapids without taking the full stair route. That said, this is the part where we put on our sensible water shoes and say: do not force it. Do not open a closed gate. Do not wander into a restricted area like you’ve suddenly been cast in a low-budget Disney heist movie. If the gate is open and Cast Members are directing guests that way, great. If it’s closed, it’s closed. Wait times Disney operations can change based on crowds, staffing, safety needs, refurbishments, and whatever mysterious weather goblin decides to hover over Central Florida that afternoon. So consider this a “check when you’re there” tip, not a guaranteed loophole. Typhoon Lagoon vs. Blizzard Beach: Disney World Water Parks Showdown This Is Especially Helpful If You’re Trying to Save Your Legs Blizzard Beach is fun, but it is also sneakily tiring. A Disney water park day sounds like the lazy cousin of a Magic Kingdom day until you realize you are still walking, standing, climbing, carrying, waiting, drying off, getting wet again, and trying to keep your flip-flops from escaping into the unknown. Ticket Booth The Chairlift gives you a break from the constant stair-climbing, and that can be a huge win if you’re visiting with kids, teens, grandparents, or anyone who starts making ominous comments like, “How many more stairs are there?” before lunch. It also helps if you’re planning to repeat slides. Doing one big slide once is manageable. Doing a big slide five times because your kid has discovered joy and made it your problem? Different story. That’s when the Chairlift becomes less of a cute feature and more of a public service. The One Thing I Never Forget to Bring to a Disney World Water Park Know the Rules Before You Ride Before you make the Chairlift your Blizzard Beach bestie, there are a few things to know: Guests must be at least 32 inches tall to ride. Guests under 32 inches can access the top of Mount Gushmore by taking the stairs, and guests 48 inches and under need to ride with an adult. Inner tubes and mats are not permitted on the Chairlift. That last one is important. If a slide requires a mat or tube, you may need to pick that up separately, depending on the attraction and how Disney is operating that day. Height Markers Also, not every attraction has the same accessibility rules. Summit Plummet, for example, is listed by Disney as “Must Be Ambulatory,” while other attractions may require guests to transfer from a wheelchair or ECV. So if accessibility is part of your planning, do not rely on this tip alone. Check Disney’s official accessibility information, ask a Cast Member, and make decisions based on what is actually available and safe on the day of your visit. The Best Way to Use This Trick If you’re headed to Blizzard Beach, here’s how we’d approach it. Start by getting familiar with the Chairlift early in the day. Find the entrance, check the wait, and ask a Cast Member which slide areas you can currently access from the top. That last part is key. Cast Members will know what is open, what is closed, and whether any gates or pathways are being used differently that day. Blizzard Beach Crowds If the Chairlift line is short, use it. Save your stair-climbing energy for the places where you actually need it. If the Chairlift line gets long, you can always decide whether the stairs are faster, but at least you’ll know your options. This is also a good reason not to treat Blizzard Beach like a “just show up and splash” day. It pays to have a rough plan. Not a laminated battle map, although we respect the energy. Just know which attractions are priorities and where the easiest access points are. ALERT! A Water Park Switcheroo Just Happened at Disney World! This Is the Kind of Disney Tip We LOVE We love a dramatic Disney hack as much as the next person, but the best tips are often the boring-sounding ones that quietly make your day better. This is one of those. The Chairlift at Blizzard Beach is not hidden, exactly. It is sitting right there, doing its little ski resort cosplay in broad daylight. But a lot of guests still do not realize just how useful it can be for accessing slide areas and cutting down on unnecessary stair climbs. Blizzard Beach And when you’re wet, hot, tired, and trying to preserve the last remaining scraps of family harmony? That matters. This Disney World Park Upgrade Costs $49 But Is Totally Worth It One More Thing Before You Go As always, check the My Disney Experience app and posted signage before you commit to any attraction plan. Water park attractions can temporarily close, operating procedures can change, and some routes may only be available when crowds are lighter. Blizzard Beach But next time you’re at Blizzard Beach, do yourself a favor: look at the Chairlift as more than a cute ride up the mountain. It might just be your secret entrance to a much easier water park day. And we will absolutely take the easier route when the easier route is available. We are Disney adults, not mountain goats. 25. If you’re planning a trip to Disney World soon, you need to stay in the loop about upcoming closures! Mickey waffle with chicken? Yes, please! It’s not uncommon for rides, hotel pools, attractions, or other offerings to close temporarily for refurbishment. Thankfully, Disney World typically announces those closures in advance on its website so you can prepare for your trip. And today, we’re here to remind you that a popular restaurant is about to close for several months. The Grand Floridian Cafe at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort is one of the most beloved brunch spots in Disney World, and they also serve dinner each day with a variety of comfort foods. But starting in mid-July and running through October, this restaurant will be closed for refurbishment. Seating at the Grand Floridian Cafe Disney hasn’t officially announced a date for this closure yet, but looking at the Grand Floridian Cafe webpage, it shows regular hours through Sunday, July 19th, then the hours change to brunch only starting on Monday, July 20th. It’s possible that this is the date of the closure because Disney has also revealed that brunch will move upstairs to Citricos while Grand Floridian Cafe is under refurbishment. ©Disney Of course, once we get dates that are firmly announced (as well as a reopening date), we’ll make sure to let you know. This closure comes in conjuction with ongoing refurbishments at the Grand Floridian as a whole. Those renovations extend around various exterior parts of the hotel through early 2027, so if you’re visiting, you could see construction during daytime hours. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort Brunch at Grand Floridian Cafe is one of our favorite meals, so even if your trip is happening during the restaurant closure, you might want to check out the alternate brunch at Citricos. Disney hasn’t yet revealed if the menu will be the same, but we particularly love the Chicken and Mickey waffles, as well as the Grand Floridian Cafe Signature Burger. The Floridian-Style Eggs Benedict are also a big hit! DELISH! We’ll keep you in the loop with any more Disney dining news, so subscribe to our newsletter for the latest!
