The EPCOT Food & Wine Festival is one of those Disney World events that used to feel like a capital-E Event. You planned around it. You booked around it. You studied menus like you were preparing for a tiny, delicious final exam. You showed up hungry, hydrated, and prepared to make several questionable decisions involving cheese, wine, and whatever Disney had decided to put in a tiny paper tray that year. All the food and drinks really add up But lately? Some longtime fans are saying the same thing: Food & Wine just doesn’t feel as special as it used to. And one reader, Maureen Pimley, summed up the shift perfectly in a comment on one of our recent Food & Wine articles: “I agree – I used to come for an entire week to actually DO Food & Wine right. Now it’s pretty much just kiosks, which now seem to be there all year at different festivals. Definitely not worth staying a week for. Swan & Dolphin’s Food and Wine has now become better for me.” WHEW. That is not just a comment. That is a tiny festival eulogy with a room key attached. Food & Wine Used To Be a Whole Trip For years, the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival wasn’t just something you stumbled into while walking from Spaceship Earth to Soarin’. It was the reason people booked the trip. 2024 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival Foodies came for the global marketplaces, yes, but they also came for the extras. Culinary demonstrations. Beverage seminars. Hands-on workshops. The Chocolate Experience. Celebrity chefs. The kinds of offerings that made the festival feel less like “snack around EPCOT” and more like “enroll in Disney’s most delicious little finishing school.” 2017 Representative Sharing Information About Shipyard Beer We’ve talked about how much we miss the old culinary demonstrations and beverage seminars, which were relatively affordable add-ons that gave guests a deeper, more educational festival experience. It wasn’t only about eating. It was about DOING Food & Wine. And there is a difference. Disney, We Need to Talk About the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival Now It Feels a Lot Like…More Booths Listen, we love a festival booth. We have built a significant portion of our adult personalities around laminated menus, mobile photos of cheese dishes, and the quiet confidence of someone who knows which trash can makes the best standing table. Trash can table! But Maureen’s complaint hits a nerve because EPCOT now has festivals for a huge chunk of the year. Festival of the Arts has food booths. Flower & Garden has Outdoor Kitchens. Food & Wine has Global Marketplaces. Festival of the Holidays has Holiday Kitchens. At this point, EPCOT without booths almost feels underdressed. So when Food & Wine rolls around, some fans aren’t getting that “finally, it’s here!” feeling anymore. They’re getting, “Wait, didn’t I just do this with flowers?” Primavera Kitchen Booth That doesn’t mean the food is bad. It doesn’t mean the festival isn’t fun. The 2026 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival is officially set to run from August 27th through November 21st, with confirmed returning favorites like Global Marketplaces, Emile’s Fromage Montage, Remy’s Hide & Squeak, and the Eat to the Beat Concert Series. But when the structure starts to feel familiar across every season, Food & Wine loses some of its old main-character sparkle. The “Weeklong Festival Trip” Is a Harder Sell Now This is the part of Maureen’s comment that really grabbed us: “Definitely not worth staying a week for.” That sentence is the sound of a longtime Disney planner closing seven browser tabs. We can’t wait for the booths to open! For many guests, a full week at Disney World is a major investment. Hotel rates, tickets, food, transportation, Lightning Lanes, souvenirs, emergency cooling towels because Florida is apparently trying to sous vide us from May through October. It adds up fast. So if you’re booking a whole trip around Food & Wine, the festival needs to feel robust enough to justify that. Not just “fun to visit for a day.” Not just “great if you were already going.” It needs to feel like the centerpiece. 2024 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival And for some fans, that centerpiece has gotten smaller. A day or two at Food & Wine? Absolutely. A long weekend with a festival crawl, Eat to the Beat concert, and a few carefully chosen dishes? That still sounds lovely. But a whole week dedicated to the festival? That’s where some guests are tapping the brakes. I’ve Tried Every EPCOT Food & Wine Festival Hack in Disney World, and I’m Sharing the 7 That Work Every Time Swan & Dolphin Is Making a Strong Case Maureen also said something else we’ve heard more than once: the Swan & Dolphin Food & Wine Classic has become a better fit for her. And that comparison is fascinating because the Swan & Dolphin Food & Wine Classic is not trying to be EPCOT. It’s a different beast. Food and Wine Classic The 2026 Swan & Dolphin Food & Wine Classic is scheduled for November 20th and 21st from 5PM to 9PM, and the event advertises unlimited food and beverage tastings with a causeway event ticket. It’s also open to the general public, so you don’t have to be staying at the Swan, Dolphin, or Swan Reserve to attend. That format is a BIG reason some fans prefer it. You buy the ticket, you show up, and the tasting experience is contained. No juggling individual booth prices. No deciding whether that tiny dish is worth another swipe of your card. No full park day required. It feels more like a true food-and-wine event and less like a park festival layered on top of a park day. Food and Wine Classic And for Disney adults who want a more focused, slightly more grown-up food event? Swan & Dolphin has been quietly building a very compelling little kingdom over there by Crescent Lake. 5 NEW Details Announced for the 2026 Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic EPCOT Still Has the Atmosphere Now, before anyone starts throwing tiny forks, let’s be clear: EPCOT still has advantages Swan & Dolphin can’t fully replicate. You’re still eating and drinking around World Showcase. You still get the music, the park energy, the people-watching, the fireworks, the ability to walk from a shrimp skewer to Spaceship Earth with the confidence of a person who has made excellent life choices. Eat to the Beat And Food & Wine is included with valid EPCOT admission, though food and drinks are purchased separately. For guests who already have tickets, Annual Passes, or a trip planned during the festival, that makes it easy to pop in and sample a few things without buying a separate event ticket. Mimosa Flight That flexibility is part of the appeal. Food & Wine can still be fun, useful, tasty, and worth visiting while also not feeling like the once-a-year culinary blowout some longtime fans remember. Both things can be true. EPCOT is complicated. So are our snack budgets. The New Procedures You Have to Follow at the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival Fans Want More Than a Passport and a Plastic Fork The big takeaway from Maureen’s comment is not that fans hate Food & Wine. They don’t. A lot of them still love it. We still get excited when menus drop. We still make spreadsheets. We still have opinions about cheese-based strolls that could probably alarm a casual bystander. But longtime fans want more reasons to linger. Emile’s Fromage Montage Completer Prize! Bring back affordable culinary demonstrations. Bring back beverage seminars. Bring back workshops. Give us chef appearances, tasting classes, behind-the-scenes food programming, weird educational displays, and yes, we are still haunted by the cranberry bog. Disney put an actual bog in EPCOT and then expected us to just move on? Absolutely not. CommuniCore Hall also feels like an obvious opportunity here. If Disney wants Food & Wine to feel like more than booths, that space could help restore some of the festival’s lost depth. Communicore Hall Give guests something to schedule. Something to learn. Something to book besides a dining package. Something that makes a repeat visitor say, “Okay, yes, I’m building a trip around this again.” So, Are Fans Really Ditching Food & Wine? Some are. Or at least, they’re downgrading it. Maybe they’re not booking a full week anymore. Maybe they’re choosing Swan & Dolphin instead. Maybe they’re hitting Food & Wine for one afternoon, then spending the rest of their trip chasing lounges, resort restaurants, or better value elsewhere. Food & Wine Festival The EPCOT Food & Wine Festival is still one of Disney World’s most iconic seasonal events. But if Disney wants it to remain THE foodie event, not just another booth loop in a very booth-heavy park calendar, it may need to bring back the experiences that made fans feel like they were doing more than grazing. Spain Food and Wine selections Because Maureen’s comment isn’t just one person being nostalgic. It’s a warning shot from the people who used to book the week. And those are exactly the fans Disney should want to win back. The Snack-Sized Verdict We’re not breaking up with the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival. Let’s not get dramatic. We still plan to be there with forks ready, napkins stuffed in pockets, and at least one questionable beverage decision pending. Get a Food Tray! But we also understand why some fans are pulling away. Food & Wine used to feel like the culinary crown jewel of EPCOT. Now, for some guests, it feels like another round of booths in a park that almost always has something sizzling in a kiosk. The food may still be good. The atmosphere may still be fun. But if Disney wants fans to stop ditching Food & Wine for other events, it may need to give the festival back its depth, its quirks, and its reasons to stay longer than one lap around World Showcase. This past week was a big one in Disney World, with SEVEN different attractions opening (or officially opening) on May 26th. Many of them are in celebration of Cool KIDS’ SUMMER, but others are planning to be around long after the event ends on September 8th. Bluey’s Wild World One of the biggest new additions has been Bluey’s Wild World in Disney’s Animal Kingdom! Here, families can play games with Bluey and Bingo, enjoy a dance party, see some animals native to Australia at Jumping Junction, and so much more. Disney anticipated it would be incredibly popular, so starting on opening day, a Virtual Queue was put into place. However, now it’s been confirmed by Disney themselves that the Virtual Queue will soon be NO MORE! According to the Walt Disney World website, the Virtual Queue for Bluey’s Wild World will be in place through June 1st, but after that, the attraction will be available to all guests at any time during operating hours. ©Disney The reason for this change could be many different things, but seeing as that it HAS been a very popular attraction, we don’t think it’s due to a lack of interest. Instead, we noticed that guests weren’t allowed to hop on the Wildlife Express over to Bluey’s Wild World until their Virtual Queue group was called, BUT your Virtual Queue wasn’t actually scanned until you were at the doors to enter the 14-minute show. This meant that not only was there a pretty big backup to get into the show, but people were also concerned that their Virtual Queue would technically expire before they got to tap in, even though they were physically in place and just waiting in line. This line can take a while Additionally, part of the line is inside, and while that’s great from a temperature standpoint, it meant that people often heard the show 2-3 times before they actually got to see it. Meaning, once they finally got to SEE it, it was already old for them, since the show doesn’t change at all. We can imagine how tiring that would get, especially since it’s a LOUD show! Let’s party! What does no more Virtual Queue mean for you, though? Well, you’ll no longer need to get up at 7 AM for the first drop, or try again at 10 AM, but it DOES mean that we could see lines for the Wildlife Express and/or the actual show line get pretty long. Currently, the train isn’t equipped to hold too long a line, so we’re really curious to see how Cast Members may manage it if/when it gets long. Your best bet may be to truly rope drop this attraction, or wait until later in the day, but keep in mind that many other people may have the same idea! More Recent Animal Kingdom News! Hotel stays have been part of Disney World from the very beginning. The Contemporary and the Polynesian opened with the rest of the resort on October 1st, 1971. In the last 50+ years, Disney has opened nearly 30 hotels on property in 3 resort categories – Deluxe, Moderate, and Value. The Monorail INSIDE Contemporary Resort However, not every Disney World experience can be perfect. In fact, we’ve run into some issues even at Walt Disney World’s most exquisite resorts. Let’s begin at the Contemporary, one of Walt Disney World’s most famous and most expensive Deluxe Tier Resorts, with prices often hovering close to $800 a night. However, even with those prices — and the perceived benefit that goes along with it — the hotel still falls victim to an issue that plagues many Disney resorts: Thin walls. Bedroom at Disney’s Contemporary Resort AJ has dubbed the resort the worst hotel rooms in Disney World to take a nap after a recent stay saw her in a room that was smack dab in between Chef Mickey’s and the pathway to the resort’s pools, meaning that all the noise bled through the walls of her room. Chef Mickey’s It’s not just AJ and the Contemporary, however, as we’ve heard countless noise complaints from guests over the years. For example, a guest staying at the Polynesian once shared a story about a malfunctioning exit door that would automatically open every few seconds, which kept their family awake. Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort These noise complaints aren’t limited to Deluxe Tier Resorts, however, as we’ve heard similar things about the Moderate and Value Tier resorts as well, with the latter’s “paper-thin walls” and open motel building structures often said to amplify loud noises right into their guest rooms. Pop Century Room 5161 Issues aren’t isolated to simply noise, however, as several members of our team have a bone to pick with Walt Disney World transportation. Specifically, they find it frustrating that some of the Deluxe Tier Resorts share bus stops with other hotels (Grand Floridian and Polynesian or the Wilderness Lodge and the Contemporary, for example), with the idea being that their arguably exorbitant price points should include direct transportation. Spirit Airlines completely shutting down was not on our bingo cards for 2026, but alas, here we are, and we’ve been here for about a month now. ©Tampa International Airport The lack of flights has certainly been affecting travelers all over the United States, but the good news? Other airlines are stepping in to fill in the gaps, slowly but surely. If you’re someone who often flies in and out of Tampa International Airport and have been missing some of those Spirit flights, you’re in for some great news — by July, Spirit’s original routes will have all been taken up by other airlines! Currently, the flights other airlines have taken over at Tampa Airport are as follows: Between Tampa and Atlanta — now offered by Delta, Southwest, and Frontier Between Tampa and Chicago — now offered by American, Frontier, United, and Southwest Between Tampa and Detroit — now offered by Delta, Frontier, and Southwest Between Tampa and Fort Lauderdale — now offered by Breeze, JetBlue, and Southwest Between Tampa and New Orleans — now offered by Breeze and Southwest ©Tampa International Airport However, beginning July 1st, Breeze will also pick up flights between Tampa and Atlantic City! ©Tampa International Airport Additionally, starting July 7th, Delta Airlines will double the number of flights offered between Tampa and Austin, Texas. Listen, we love pins just as much as the next person (seriously, you should see how many we have in EACH of our homes), but it seems like Disney is cracking down on Disney fans waiting HOURS for the newest pin drop in the form of new Disney Springs rules. Disney pins New pins are often released on Tuesdays, and while we love seeing them online, sometimes people prefer to go into Disney Springs to grab them in person. We totally get that, but now, Disney Springs has announced that if you’re waiting for pins to drop or are planning to attend any other merchandise events, you’ll have to change your parking plan. Disney has just announced that the Disney Springs parking garages, as well as the rideshare loops, will not open to guests until 7 AM on special event merchandise days. This is an attempt to curb people from parking in the garages overnight, and yes, that will include on Tuesdays for new pin drops. runDisney merchandise This also means that, even if you’re just planning to get to Disney Springs early for another reason on Tuesdays, or on a day that also happens to be a large merchandise drop, you won’t be able to enter until 7 AM. If you arrive in your vehicle or in a rideshare before 7 AM, you will be asked to leave and come back at 7 AM. Watermelon Lot Signage Yes, this will also include parking at the Disney Springs Watermelon, Strawberry, and Mango Parking Lots, in addition to the Orange, Lime, and Grapefruit Garages. @disneysprings on Instagram This is effective immediately, so we’re assuming to see it first in place this upcoming Tuesday, June 2nd. There is SO much changing in Disney World these days. Across the theme parks, there are tons of new things like Bluey’s Wild World, Jessie’s Roundup: A Rip-Roarin’ Revue, and Goofycore, which are ready for summer. Alien Swirling Saucers In Hollywood Studios, the Muppets have returned, and the Walt Disney Studios is partially open! It seems like Disney is leaving no stone unturned, because now a new permit has been filed for Hollywood Studios in Toy Story Land. Find out what’s changing right here! Changes are coming to Alien Swirling Saucers! The popular spinning ride in Toy Story Land is beloved by families because of the low height requirement and the fun renditions of classic songs. In a Notice of Commencement, Disney filed a new permit with the State of Florida for updates to the attraction. Alien Swirling Saucers The permit was filed by Walt Disney Imagineering to “install set elements.” This means new set elements are coming to the ride, which will be noticeable changes for riders! The work will be done by Icarus Exhibits, Inc., which is a contracting company that specializes in “custom theming for fully immersive elements, one-of-a-kind projects, and the never-before-done,” according to their website. This company has worked with Disney several times on things like TRON: Lightcycle Run at Magic Kingdom, set pieces in Toy Story Land, and even past elements of Galaxy’s Edge. The CLAWWWW Disney hasn’t released details on what the changes will include, but it could be many things! We’re eager to see if it will include changes inspired by the upcoming film Toy Story 5. This ride is seriously adorable, but we wouldn’t be upset if they removed the upbeat version of “When She Loved Me.” Despite the nice beat, the song tends to bum us out. (Okay, maybe it’s just this writer). Hi, Buzz! The permit expires on May 28th, 2027, if the work isn’t completed before that day. One of Disneyland’s oldest attractions, which it predates the park itself, is seemingly set to close for refurbishment in a few weeks. King Arthur Carrousel According to Disneyland’s operational calendar, King Arthur Carrousel — which sits at the center of the park’s Fantasyland just behind Sleeping Beauty Castle — is set to close beginning July 6th, with a final day of operations scheduled for July 5th, the cap of the busy Fourth of July Weekend. While Disney hasn’t confirmed the length or reasoning behind the closure as of yet, it is worth remembering that the ride itself is actually over 100 years old. The ride was originally designed by William Dentzel and was first operated at Sunnyside Beach Park in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, in 1922. The attraction was purchased by Disney in 1954 and has been operating at Disneyland since the park opened the following year. Disneyland’s Fantasyland Today, the ride features 68 “ornately carved, hand-painted horses” and a fanciful chariot. During the ride, guests listen to recordings of classic Disney songs in fairground organ arrangements, and circle nine hand-painted vignettes telling the story of Sleeping Beauty on the inner rounding board above the horses. The entrance Of course, carrousel attractions have been baked into the mythos of Disney theme parks from before Disneyland was designed, as the oft-repeated (and likely somewhat apocryphal) story goes that Walt Disney was inspired to build his own theme park for children and adults alike while sitting on a bench watching his daughter ride a carousel in Griffith Park. While there surely is some truth to the story as far as inspirations for Disneyland go, plans for the park had been coming together in Walt’s mind for years, and were inspired by several different interests, including miniatures, model railroads, and other pursuits. Disney Springs Sign From the popular snacks to the underrated snacks, there are so many to choose from, but should you try this one? We’re here to see if the Made-To-Order Artisan S’more from The Ganachery is worth enough hype for you to get on your next trip! The Ganachery is a gourmet chocolate shop located in The Landing in Disney Springs and is home to several popular treats, including the Made-To-Order Artisan S’mores. This treat isn’t like your basic s’more. Between two cookie graham crackers, you’ll find a melty marshmallow and a chocolate ganache, and you can grab it for $9. Made-To-Order Artisan S’more Just like the typical s’more, this thing can get MESSY, so be sure to take some napkins with you! Because these s’mores are made to order, they’ll be hot and fresh, and the marshmallow will melt the ganache instantly. The Vanilla Bean Marshmallow Square is burnt with a blowtorch, and you can watch it being done right through the window! Because of this, the middle can end up a little raw, and you can get that burnt taste, but it will still mix with the sweetness of the entire treat. The graham cracker isn’t your typical graham cracker you’ll find at the store. We found it to be more of a cakey-cookie texture rather than a crunchy cracker. The top of the cracker is dusted with powdered sugar in the shape of a Mickey, and then is topped with even MORE sugar. We actually thought that it was the sweetest-tasting thing in the whole s’more! Made-To-Order Artisan S’more And now for the star of the show: the ganache. We actually thought that there wasn’t enough chocolate to the point where we barely tasted it! The graham crackers are a really overpowering factor because of how big and cakey they are. Made-To-Order Artisan S’more The good thing is that this snack is definitely shareable because of its size! It’s definitely a fun treat to try if you’re in the area, but really, it’s just an elevated s’more, so it’s not a must-have for us, and there are a lot of other options you can try at Disney Springs! Efteling, one of Europe’s most popular theme parks, just confirmed details of a NEW major attraction. ©Efteling Early this year, the park confirmed major changes were coming to the Raveleijn area of the park, which they said would be “completely transformed with a new storyline, decor and impressive show effects,” including a new open-air “rotating flying experience” attraction. Now, the park has released new details on this attraction, Ravenring. Ravenring will be a horizontally rotating wheel in which 36 visitors per ride will take their seats in one of the 18 winged vehicles, inspired by the ravens of Raveleijn. The ride’s storyline revolves around recruiting “new heroes” to continue protecting the city of Raveleijn in the future by taking part in a “flying ritual reserved only for true heroes.” After their flight, guests will discover which of the five magical elements suits them best: blue for water, red for fire, green for wood, brown for earth, and purple for metal. Further details on the attraction include: Riders must be 4-years-old and at least meter (about 3.5 feet) tall. Guests can control how steeply their vehicle flies using a lever in their ride vehicle. Each flight lasts approximately 90 seconds. The ride reaches a maximum height of five meters – about 16.5 feet – and tops out at a top speed of around 40 kilometers – about 25 miles – per hour. Ravenring will be accessible for guests with disabilities, although a transfer is required. The attraction is set to open before the end of 2026. ©Efteling Ravenring will join another new attraction, Hooghmoed, which opened at the park on May 1st. The child-friendly drop tower attraction consists of three towers, each approximately 40 feet tall, and is themed as a companion piece to its neighbor, the gold-mine-themed dive coaster Baron 1898. According to the park, “the tall chimney of the gold smeltery must be cleaned regularly. To reach the chimney, the young chimney sweeps (the attraction’s visitors) take the lift up. Spinning at a height of 9.5 metres, the view is spectacular. But then the Witte Wieven (the Wailing Women) appear and sabotage the ride. A steel cable snaps and the lift plunges several metres down into mist and smoke…” Each of the ride’s towers has a capacity of 10 people, allowing 30 guests per ride, and feature their own ride sequence of approximately 1.5 minutes. Riders must be approximately 2.95 feet tall, and children must be accompanied by an adult approximately 4.3 feet tall. ©Efteling Founded in 1952, Efteling, located in the Netherlands, has become a beloved institution for generations of guests. What is it about McDonald’s that is just comforting? Of course, there’s a lot of nostalgia for many of us going to McDonald’s, especially when it comes to Happy Meals, which pretty much defined so much of our childhoods. Happy Meal Happy Meals are also still a thing, and new themes are released all the time. Recently we’ve seen Stranger Things ’85 Happy Meals, Super Mario Galaxy movie Happy Meals, and K-Pop Demon Hunters-themed Happy Meals. Well, get ready, because an all-NEW Happy Meal is coming soon, and it’s going to be VERY popular because Squishmallows are back! That’s right, to celebrate the FIFA World Cup this summer, McDonald’s is releasing a special Happy Meal with Squishmallows on June 9th. Now, the Squishmallows Happy Meals tend to be VERY popular, so you’ll want to try to grab one of the new Happy Meals as soon as you can. These Squishmallows are even wearing jerseys representing the different countries that will be competing for the World Cup. There are restaurants in each of the parks and a few hotels that offer Character Dining experiences…but there are also a few spots we often hear people assume offer Character Meals, when they actually don’t! Here are five Disney World restaurants that AREN’T Character Meals, even though lots of people think they are! Roundup Rodeo BBQ Roundup Rodeo BBQ is a Table Service restaurant located in Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. And we can totally see why people might assume that this is a Character Meal at first! For one, it’s a SUPER immersive atmosphere, themed after a rodeo arena created by Andy himself! Roundup Rodeo BBQ Plus, it FEELS like a more interactive experience since the Cast Members really get into their roles. In fact, you may even experience an “Andy’s Coming” moment! So Much to See! But despite the immersive decor and Cast Member interactions, Roundup Rodeo BBQ is NOT a Character Meal, so you won’t be able to meet any of the Toy Story characters here! Roundup Rodeo BBQ Even though you won’t find the Toy Story characters at this restaurant, Woody, Jessie, and Buzz are typically available throughout the day for character meet-and-greets in Toy Story Land. Be sure to check the My Disney Experience app for the times and locations they’re scheduled on the day of your visit! Hi from Woody and Jessie in Hollywood Studios! If you are in search of a place to have a Character Dining experience during your park day, Hollywood & Vine is the only spot that has a character meal in Hollywood Studios for now. Minnie at Hollywood & Vine Minnie Mouse is the “hostess” of the seasonal dining experiences at Hollywood & Vine, so you can usually meet Minnie, plus Mickey, Pluto, and Goofy! Check Out Our Full Review of Roundup Rodeo BBQ Be Our Guest Restaurant Speaking of restaurants that just “feel” like a Character Meal, Be Our Guest Restaurant in Magic Kingdom literally feels like you’re stepping RIGHT into Beauty and the Beast, with three gorgeous dining rooms inspired by Beast’s castle from the movie! Be Our Guest, West Wing Dining Room There’s the Grand Ballroom (where Belle and the Beast share their iconic dance at the end of the movie), plus the ominous West Wing (home to the enchanted rose!), and the Rose Gallery (a bright, cheerful room dedicated to Belle and the Beast’s romance). Be Our Guest, The Grand Ballroom To be fair, there’s also another good reason, on top of just the immersive design, that people may confuse this spot for a Character Meal. The Beast does typically come out and roam through the dining rooms at various points throughout the meal. But, he DOESN’T stop by the tables to meet with guests and take pictures, so you get a “character sighting” rather than a “character meeting,” like you do at an actual Character Meal. Be Our Guest…where you can see Beast, but not actually get a meet and greet with him Plus, he’s the ONLY character that makes an appearance, so don’t expect to spot any other Beauty and the Beast characters like Belle or Chip roaming around! Beast in Be Our Guest at Disney World If you’re looking for a princess-themed character meal, you can try to book Cinderella’s Royal Table at Magic Kingdom instead. Just beware, this is typically one of the HARDEST reservations to snag, so you’ll have to really be on top of it as soon as your reservation window opens! Ariel at Cinderella’s Royal Table Since Cinderella’s Royal Table can be hard to land, another great princess-themed Character Meal option is Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in EPCOT. Snow White at Akershus You can also find many of the princesses at regular meet-and-greets throughout the parks, especially Magic Kingdom and EPCOT. Remember to check the My Disney Experience app for the daily schedule of character appearances! Check Out Our Full Review of Be Our Guest Restaurant! ‘Ohana (for DINNER) If you thought having a character appear but not meet guests was confusing, wait until we get into our next few restaurants! ‘Ohana is the super-popular Hawaiian-style restaurant at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. ‘Ohana is home to the Best Friends Breakfast, an all-you-care-to-eat Character Meal where guests can typically meet Lilo, Stitch, Mickey, and Pluto. Lilo at ‘Ohana But, there’s an essential caveat — the characters appear at breakfast ONLY! That’s right, NO characters will appear during dinner at ‘Ohana! This can understandably catch people off guard, since the question of “is this a Character Meal?” depends on WHICH meal — breakfast or dinner — you’re talking about. Characters at Breakfast ONLY! If you can’t snag a breakfast reservation at ‘Ohana, Stitch often appears in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom, so you can try to spot him in the park instead. And Mickey and Pluto make appearances all over, so just keep an eye on the app for a meet-and-greet that works for your schedule! Stitch! If you’re on the hunt for another nearby Character Meal option, Chef Mickey’s at Disney’s Contemporary Resort has visits from Mickey and friends at both breakfast AND dinner! Cape May Cafe (for DINNER) Now that we’ve gone over the confusion at ‘Ohana, hopefully this info about dinner at Cape May Cafe will be easier to swallow (no pun intended). Like ‘Ohana, Cape May Cafe at Disney’s Beach Club Resort DOES have a Character Meal for breakfast. It’s called “Minnie’s Beach Bash Breakfast” and features appearances from various characters, which can include Minnie, Donald, Daisy, and Goofy. Daisy at Cape May Cafe But, also like ‘Ohana, there are NO characters at Cape May Cafe for dinner! With that being said, dinner at Cape May Cafe might still be a big draw for seafood fans, since it includes all-you-can-eat surf-and-turf. But if it’s the characters your heart is set on, dinner at Cape May Cafe isn’t the place to go! Cape May Cafe plate from the dinner buffet The good news is, since the characters featured here are Minnie and friends, you can find them in plenty of places around the parks if you missed out on the character breakfast. Just remember to — you guessed it — check your My Disney Experience app to see where and when you can find character meet-and-greets in whichever park you’re visiting that day! Topolino’s Terrace (for DINNER) Rounding out our list, we have Topolino’s Terrace — Flavors of the Riviera, located at Disney’s Riviera Resort. It’s a fun way to start your day with awesome views from the rooftop restaurant and visits from Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Daisy in art-inspired costumes! Minnie at Topolino’s Terrace But, keeping with the trend, dinner at Topolino’s Terrace is NOT a Character Meal! Instead, you’ll find an elegant signature dining experience with gorgeous views thanks to the rooftop location. You can even see the EPCOT fireworks if you’ve got a later dinner! EPCOT Fireworks from Topolino’s Terrace With its fancy vibes and stellar views, dinner at Topolino’s Terrace is a perfect spot for an elegant date night or an elevated dining experience. Just keep in mind, you won’t see any characters during dinner! Tramonto Cocktail at Topolino’s Terrace If you’re in search of a nearby character meal, you could book a reservation for Garden Grill in EPCOT, which is just a Skyliner trip away! Garden Grill Food with Living With the Land in the Background! Pixar’s latest film, Hoppers, has a Disney+ release date, and it’s only a few weeks away! ©Disney Hoppers was released to critical and commercial success in March, and Disney has now confirmed that the film will join the Disney+ streaming library on June 3rd. Hoppers tells the story of Animal-lover Mabel, who “seizes an opportunity to use a new technology to ‘hop’ her consciousness into a lifelike robotic beaver and communicate directly with animals. As she uncovers mysteries in the animal world beyond anything she could have imagined, Mabel must rally the entire animal kingdom to face a major imminent human threat.” ©Disney The Daniel Chong-directed film stars Piper Curda as Mabel, Bobby Moynihan as King George the beaver, Jon Hamm as Mayor Jerry Generazzo, Kathy Najimy as Dr. Samantha “Sam” Fairfax, Dave Franco as Titus the butterfly, Eduardo Franco as Loaf the beaver, Aparna Nancherla, Sam Richardson, Melissa Villaseñor, Isiah Whitlock Jr., Steve Purcell, Ego Nwodim, Vanessa Bayer, and Meryl Streep as the Insect Queen. A Hoppers maquette on display. Released theatrically on March 6th, Hoppers was called a “return to form” for Pixar, certainly from a reaction standpoint. The film was successful critically (currently 94% Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes) and with audiences (holding a 93% audience score on the same site).
