If you’re prone to impulse shopping, EPCOT can be seriously dangerous for your wallet. World Showcase at EPCOT Between the unique gift shops tucked inside each pavilion and the endless themed merchandise throughout World Showcase, there’s no shortage of tempting souvenirs around every corner. Before you know it, you may end up spending way more than you planned and regretting a few of those purchases later! First up, you’re probably going to regret dropping a cool $79K on that crystal model of Spaceship Earth. You can find this unique souvenir inside Kunstarbeit in Kristal in the Germany Pavilion. It may seem like a fun idea at the time, but when you buy a souvenir that costs more than most cars, your bank account is probably going to scream at you. She is beautiful! One thing that EPCOT has in spades? Figment merchandise. He gets his own festival collections AND his own gift shop. It can be super tempting to buy a bunch of Figment paraphernalia, but the problem is — it only works in EPCOT. That’s the only park the character has a presence in, and out in the real world, people who aren’t Disney fans have no idea who he is. If that doesn’t bother you at all though, go ahead! Figment Merchandise In various places around EPCOT, we’ve spotted this Spaceship Earth cookie jar. If you’re a die-hard EPCOT fan, this is sincerely tempting to take home. But like the gauntlet, it’s a pretty bulky souvenir that can be difficult to lug around or fit in your suitcase. And even when you get home, how often will you actually have it filled with cookies? Be honest. Spaceship Earth Cookie Jar Over in France, you can find a miniature Eiffel Tower for $49.95. It has two different light modes. However, do you actually need this? Probably not. And no shade to the France pavilion at EPCOT, but we feel like this is not worth almost $50! miniature Eiffel Tower Moving on to the United Kingdom, at The Tea Caddy, there is a stunning Jane Austen-themed teapot that is a very unique gift. However, you’d better really love it for $160. Also, the logistics of getting this home from Disney World sound like a nightmare. Jane Austen-themed teapot In the China pavilion, Good Fortune Gifts sells small puppets for $22.95. Practically, what are you going to do with a puppet? My in-laws actually made this mistake when my husband was a child and bought one of these. They said he played with it once, and then it collected dust for the rest of the time. Good Fortune Gifts Both in the Creations Shop and the Treasures of Xandar, you can find the iconic Marvel infinity gauntlets. These are super cool souvenirs, and you can even collect all the infinity stones to go in them, but there’s a big problem — they’re HUGE. These things are seriously bulky, and they get quite cumbersome to carry around or to try to fit in your suitcase to go home. Nobody wants to wear a plastic glove all day in a theme park. Infinity Gauntlets Inside Mission Space Cargo Bay, you’ll find a mix of Star Wars and NASA-themed merchandise, including freeze-dried astronaut food. This is definitely one of those items that catch the attention of kids, and you might find yourself giving in to buy it. But we suggest you skip the freeze-dried ice cream in EPCOT — this IS the park known for its delicious snacks, after all. Instead, just order some astronaut eats from Amazon after your trip. Astronaut Ice Cream Finally, House of Good Fortune in the China Pavilion, we’ve got to mention the dog kimonos that were sold here several years ago. Yes, they were seriously adorable, and we all wanted to buy them for our pets…but for what purpose?! When would your dog actually wear this? This was definitely one of those impulse buys for people that landed in the box of forgotten souvenirs. Dog Kimono If you can’t decide if you really want to buy something, just walk away. If you still want it later, you can return. And if it’s still there, it’s meant to be! For more Disney news and stories, keep following us at DFB! When we’re staying at a Disney World resort, there’s one thing we can’t miss out on. It’s not the parks, or even the food, but the gift shop! We love staying at the All-Star resorts for Disney magic at a great price. But Disney has thrown a wrench in our plans – the gift shop of a popular All-Star resort at Disney World is under construction from now until August! Donald’s Double Feature at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort is right off the main lobby with an assortment of Disney apparel, housewares, books, sundries, and more. From May 26th through late August 2026, Donald’s Double Feature will undergo a phased refurbishment. During this time, the store will remain open. Donald’s Double Feature Despite the store remaining open, guests may see and hear construction in the area until the work is complete. Since Donald’s Double Feature is located in the lobby area and not near any rooms, hearing construction noise from your hotel room is very unlikely. This will likely only affect guests shopping in the resort’s main area or dining in the World Premiere Foodcourt. Donald’s Double Feature at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort If you’re staying at All-Star movies soon, Donald’s Double Feature isn’t the only construction you need to worry about. Beginning in late May 2026, the rooms at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort will undergo planned refurbishment through the end of January 2027. Disney hasn’t confirmed which room buildings will be updated or how the work will be phased across the resort. Based on previous refurbs, Disney will close and refurbish buildings in stages. All-Star Movies If you’re staying at All-Star Movies between May 2026 and January 2027, there might be some daytime construction noise. You can request a room away from active work areas during check-in, but it is not guaranteed. If your travel plans are flexible, you could book a different resort or visit All-Star Movies in spring 2027 or later to avoid the construction entirely if it’s a dealbreaker for your trip. Standard Room at All-Star Movies We’ll be sure to keep you updated on any additional construction coming to Disney resorts. Stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more Disney World news! If you’ve visited Universal Orlando, you might be familiar with Universal Express Pass, which allows you to skip the long standby lines at rides throughout the parks. Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure One of the most popular rides to use Express Pass is Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure in Universal Islands of Adventure in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, a ride that has notoriously long standby lines. Well, if you were planning to use Express Pass for this ride this summer, you’re going to be out of luck because it will no longer be offered for the ride. Universal Orlando has confirmed that Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure will no longer offer Universal Express Pass starting on July 1st, 2026. Universal hopes that this actually helps improve the line and flow of the experience for everyone who visits Islands of Adventure. The ride Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure was just added to Universal Express Pass about a year ago, but, apparently, Universal has decided that this change will make the ride a little more accessible to guests who want to ride it. Line for Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure Universal Express Pass is an add-on that you can purchase to add to your Universal Orlando ticket, although it’s free for some Universal hotel guests. It generally costs around $100 per person per day, and is good on participating attractions. In Islands of Adventure, it still includes: Jurassic World VelociCoaster The Incredible Hulk Coaster Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man Jurassic Park River Adventure Skull Island: Reign of Kong Doctor Doom’s Fearfall Hogwarts Express (requires park-to-park ticket) Hogwarts Express in Universal’s Islands of Adventure We’ll keep an eye out for more changes in Universal, so stay tuned to DFB for more. For many Disney fans, anticipation for the upcoming Villains Land has been decades in the making. Villains Land ©Disney The project has been rumored since the 90’s, and fans have spent all that time daydreaming of elements — both large and small — that they would love to see come to the land. First officially confirmed at the 2024 D23 Ultimate Fan Event, Villains Land Disney has released scant official details about Villains Land, other than that the area “Beyond Big Thunder” will be home to “two major attractions, dining, and shopping on an incredibly twisted grand scale.” Beyond the two major attractions — one of which is rumored to be a coaster based on either Maleficent or The Emperor’s New Groove, depending on which reports one believes — there are plenty of smaller elements that would enhance the land without blowing out the budget. ©Disney Film-Specific Details Unlike other major Disney lands of the last few decades — think Cars Land, Pandora: The World of Avatar, and Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge, to name a few — Villains Land isn’t going to be based on a singular IP. Rather, it’s going to feature antagonists from various films — with various art styles — from nearly 90 years of films. Watch Out Simba! ©Disney Back in 2025, Disney detailed that the land’s architecture would combine the magical, fluid, and organic appearance of both the animated villains and the Art Nouveau style of construction, in a style the Imagineering design team says will blend historical components and fantastical worlds. The style has been dubbed “Conjured Architecture.” ©Disney However, at the same time, they also confirmed that Disney Legend and former animator Andreas Deja — best known for helping to bring some of the most evil Disney Villains to life onscreen, including Gaston in Beauty and the Beast, Jafar in Aladdin, and Scar in The Lion King – –will be officially consulting on the project. Given Deja’s involvement, we’re hoping that some specific elements from various characters’ film appearances can be worked into the land’s overall architecture. Speaking of characters… Andreas Deja Bring Out the Deep Cuts While the land will likely be headlined by the most popular Disney Villains — your Jafars, Scars, Ursulas, and Malificents to name a few — we’re also hoping Disney includes references and perhaps even appearances from lesser-known deep cut Disney characters, a precedent they just set at another Walt Disney World theme park. The Walt Disney Studios In May 2026, Disney opened the gates to the new Walt Disney Studios retheme of the Animation Courtyard at Hollywood Studios. One of the first things that jumped out to guests was the number of Disney character statues that were spread across the land. Lucifer From films old… Jiminy Cricket … and new … Pua and Thumper in Walt Disney Studios … beloved… Abu … and slightly more obscure. Some famous Disney mice Think about the equivalent that could be done in Villains Land. Imagine running into the Horned King from The Black Cauldron ominously around a corner, seeing Shere Kahn from The Jungle Book or the Hyena from The Lion King preying on guests from the bushes, finding Pain and Panic from Hercules underfoot, or even stumbling upon an in-scale version of Professor Ratigan from The Great Mouse Detective. Just keep the hyenas away from Zazu Snacks! Finally, Disney needs to continue its commitment to heavily themed snacks, drinks, and dining offerings as we’ve seen in other lands. Wouldn’t you want to be able to snack on Iago’s crackers or try some of Kronk’s Spinach Puffs? Yeah, we thought so. ©Disney While massive E-Ticket attractions will likely dominate the Magic Kingdom’s Villains Land’s landscape, it will be the land’s smaller details, theming, and offerings that could potentially elevate it to game-changing status. Stay tuned to AllEars as Disney confirms further details about the land, likely including at this summer’s D23 Ultimate Fan Expo. 6 Magic Kingdom Secrets Disney Doesn’t Want You to Know Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! Play ball! But what’s a game without a field to play on? Here at Walt Disney World, we have a team of cast who are growing the game – literally! Year round, the Sportscape (that’s sports + landscape) team maintains more than 30 fields at the 260+ acre ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex which is celebrating its 30th anniversary next year. Whether it’s a pro or amateur athlete stepping onto the field, the complex is always ready to host nearly 300K athletes and 800K spectators for more than 50 different events each year. And for almost three decades, it’s been possible because of the cast who combine their love of Disney and sports with their passion for field maintenance. The Cast Caring for the Fields Meet John Bolger, a 36-year cast member who has skillfully cared for the fields since the first baseball game in 1997. “I’ve been here since opening day and it’s been amazing to see the growth of the sports complex from a few fields to the more than 30 we have today,” he said. For John, working at Disney is about more than a career. It’s personal. Inspired by his mother who was a cast member, John knew early on where he wanted to be. “I love Disney because of her, and I wouldn’t want to go anywhere else,” he said. It’s not just John taking care of the 17 multi-purpose fields, 12 baseball and softball diamonds, 1 baseball stadium, and a track & field complex. It’s an entire team of cast led by Maryanne Baglos, the Turf Manager and Horticulture Manager for Lawn and Ornamental Pest Management. “What we do here is truly a team effort,” Maryanne said. “All our cast bring their individual experiences and work together to make the entire complex beautiful.” During her 27-year Disney career, Maryanne has found joy in refining spaces for guests, and as a leader, loves to inspire her cast members by celebrating their passion and artistry. “When I take pride in their craftsmanship, the cast take pride in it too,” Maryanne said. For the cast, ESPN Wide World of Sports is like home. That’s certainly true for Willie Congrove, a 40-year cast member and Field Manager. “I’ve had great times with my children when they’ve competed here,” Willie said. “We try to make each area as safe and perfect as possible so others can enjoy coming here too.” Bringing New Sports to Life Since its opening in 1997, ESPN Wide World of Sports has not only expanded in size but has welcomed returning and new fans and increased the number of new sporting events here in Central Florida. New events like the upcoming Banana Ball games happening this weekend! As a fan-first experience, Banana Ball is coming to a place that is already known for creating championship-level experiences for our athletes and fans. And yes, our Sportscape team is prepping the Stadium for the Banana Ball games with the Loco Beach Coconuts and the Party Animals! Check out the team in action above! For years, Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts have had one very splashy trump card: Stormalong Bay. You can argue over the best Disney World hotel lobby, the best resort restaurant, the best transportation setup, or which hotel smells the most like someone bottled vacation and sold it for $48 in a gift shop. But when it comes to the best Disney World hotel pool, most people have pointed to Stormalong Bay and called the case closed. Slide It has a sand-bottom pool. It has a lazy river. It has a giant shipwreck slide. It has the general energy of “we accidentally built a mini water park and then attached two Deluxe Resorts to it.” But now? We may have a challenger. Disney Lakeshore Lodge is projected to open at Walt Disney World in summer 2027, and based on the concept art and early details we’ve seen so far, its pool complex might be one of the most ambitious hotel pool areas Disney World has built in decades. The emphasis here is might, because we are still working with concept art, construction peeks, and limited confirmed information. Disney has said more details about dining, recreation, amenities, and design will be shared in the months ahead. Still, the pool-watchers among us are already squinting at those renderings like we’re examining the Zapruder film, but with more pool noodles. The Current Champion Let’s start with the reigning champ. Stormalong Bay is the shared pool area for Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, Disney’s Beach Club Resort, and Disney’s Beach Club Villas. It is a 3-acre water wonderland with a 750,000-gallon pool area, a sand-bottom pool, a lazy river, three whirlpool spas, an elevated tanning deck, and a life-size shipwreck replica with a waterslide. The slide is 230 feet long and starts from the mast of that shipwreck. That is not just a hotel pool. That is a full aquatic situation. Stormalong Bay Stormalong Bay works because it has variety. Little kids can splash in shallower areas. Bigger kids can barrel down the shipwreck slide. Adults can float, lounge, soak, supervise, or pretend they are “just resting their eyes” in a chair while absolutely guarding that chair like it is a national treasure. Stormalong Bay And then there’s the location. Yacht and Beach Club sit in the EPCOT Resort Area, which means you’re close to EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, the BoardWalk, the Skyliner, and a whole cluster of restaurants and lounges. A pool day here can easily become a Beaches & Cream sundae day, a quick EPCOT stroll day, or a “we were supposed to go to Magic Kingdom but somehow ended up drinking something frozen near Crescent Lake” day. That convenience is part of Stormalong Bay’s power. It is not just the pool itself. It is the whole resort ecosystem around it. Disney World Just Extended Construction At This Popular Hotel — AGAIN! The Challenger From Bay Lake Disney Lakeshore Lodge is being built along the south shores of Bay Lake, near the general Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness region. It is a nature-inspired waterfront retreat celebrating “the beauty and magic of nature” through Disney storytelling. The resort is expected to include 967 rooms, ranging from studios to suites, plus one- and two-bedroom Lake Houses along the waterfront. That already tells us this will not be a tiny hidden cabin village where three people and a raccoon share a dock. Lakeshore Lodge Concept Art ©Disney This is a major new resort. And if the pool area is as large and feature-heavy as the concept art suggests, it could become a serious selling point. The new concept art appears to show a lazy river, pool, water slide, waterfront restaurant, boat dock, and other resort features. The pool area appears to include a zero-entry design, waterslides, and a splash pad, though Disney has not yet released full official pool specifications. ©Disney So, again, giant flashing caution sign: we do not yet have final confirmed measurements, gallon counts, slide lengths, operating rules, pool access details, or the complete amenity list. But based on what has been shown? Stormalong Bay should at least glance over its shoulder. UPDATE on Disney World’s Lakeshore Lodge Hotel Opening in 2027 Lazy River vs. Lazy River One of the biggest reasons Stormalong Bay has stayed at the top for so long is the lazy river. Disney World hotel pools are not exactly overflowing with lazy rivers. Most Disney Resort pools have a feature pool, a slide, a splash area, maybe a hot tub or quiet pool nearby, and some highly competitive chair politics. Stormalong Bay has always felt different because the lazy river gives it that mini-water-park feel. Lazy River at Stormalong Bay That is why the Lakeshore Lodge concept art is so interesting. If the new resort really opens with a substantial lazy river, that alone puts it in rare company. A lazy river changes how people use a pool. It turns the space from “we’re going swimming for 45 minutes” into “we may live here now.” It gives kids something repetitive and fun to do without requiring constant slide stairs. It gives adults an option that feels less chaotic than bobbing in the main pool while someone’s inflatable ball achieves sentience nearby. @bioreconstruct on Instagram But the size and layout will matter. Stormalong Bay’s lazy river is fun, but it can feel compact and busy. If Lakeshore Lodge has a larger, more scenic, better-flowing lazy river around a nature-themed courtyard, that could be a major advantage. Could it be better? Absolutely. But we won’t know that until we actually dip our toes into that tide ourselves. We need the final design, guest capacity, water depth, tube rules, shade situation, and whether the whole thing feels relaxing or like a wet traffic circle with children. 4 Details Hiding in the Concept Art for Disney World’s Newest Hotel, Lakeshore Lodge Theme Is Where This Gets Interesting Stormalong Bay has a great theme because it fits the Yacht and Beach Club perfectly. The shipwreck slide, beachy pool, sand-bottom areas, and Crescent Lake setting all speak the same visual language. It feels coastal, breezy, and classic Disney without needing to whack you over the head with characters. Construction on Stormalong Bay Lakeshore Lodge appears to be going in a different direction. The resort will draw inspiration from nature-focused Disney stories, including films like Bambi, Pocahontas, and Brother Bear, with subtle nods woven into architecture, artwork, and ambiance. This could be lovely. It could also be dangerously close to “tasteful beige lodge with three hidden leaves and a bear painting,” so execution is everything. ©Disney The pool area may be where Lakeshore Lodge gets to have the most fun. A nature-inspired pool complex with rockwork, trees, water movement, a lazy river, shaded areas, and a slide integrated into the landscape could feel much more immersive than another sleek hotel courtyard with fancy chairs and one decorative boulder named Gregory. If Disney lets this thing breathe, Lakeshore Lodge could feel like a sister to Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness, with a bit more aquatic drama. If it leans too hard into modern generic resort design, Stormalong Bay keeps the crown without even drying its hair. Exclusive CLOSE-UP Look at Disney’s New Lakeshore Lodge Hotel The Crowd Problem Here’s where the shiny new pool dream gets a bucket of cold water dumped over its head. Disney Lakeshore Lodge is expected to be big. We’re talking 967 rooms. That is a lot of guests potentially aiming for the same pool chairs. ©Disney Stormalong Bay is also shared by multiple resort areas, so it is no stranger to crowds. In fact, one of the common complaints about Stormalong Bay is that it can feel very busy, especially during peak pool hours. But it has also been operating for years. Disney knows how to manage it, guests know what to expect, and the pool’s layout, while sprawling, has proven itself over time. Stormalong Bay Lakeshore Lodge will need to nail capacity. A gorgeous concept art pool is one thing. A gorgeous concept art pool at 2 PM in July with hundreds of guests, wet towels, stroller parking, spilled fries, and one family treating six chairs like a real estate portfolio is another thing entirely. If the pool is large enough and smartly designed, it could handle that crowd beautifully. If it is too small for the resort’s guest load, the dethroning campaign may end before the first sunscreen application. The Slide Situation Stormalong Bay’s shipwreck slide is iconic, but it also has one quirk that not everyone loves: the slide entrance is separated from the main pool area, which can be annoying for families trying to supervise multiple kids. That does not ruin the experience, but it is one of those small logistical things that can turn into a full vacation side quest. Stormalong Bay Shipwreck Waterslide If Lakeshore Lodge’s slide is more integrated into the pool complex, that could be a quiet but important win. A great slide does not just need to look good. It needs to be easy to access, easy to supervise, and worth repeating ten times while a parent says, “This is the last one,” with the defeated confidence of someone who knows it is not the last one. @bioreconstruct on Instagram The concept art appears to show a treehouse-style slide area, but until Disney releases official details, we do not know the height, length, thrill level, minimum height requirement, or how it will compare to Stormalong Bay’s 230-foot shipwreck slide. So for now, the advantage of Stormalong Bay on proven slide power. Potential advantage Lakeshore Lodge on layout, if Disney designs it well. Dining Could Tip the Scales A hotel pool is not just water. It is also snacks. This is science. This is fact. This is what we base our vacation style, occupation, and even a smidge of religion on. Poolside Buttermilk Chicken Sandwich Stormalong Bay benefits from nearby options like Hurricane Hanna’s, Beaches & Cream, and the larger Yacht and Beach Club dining lineup. You can do a very respectable pool day there without feeling stranded. Spring Shake Lakeshore Lodge may have a waterfront restaurant near the pool area, according to concept art analysis, but Disney has not yet announced the full dining lineup. That is a big question mark. If Lakeshore Lodge opens with strong pool-adjacent food and drink options, it could seriously compete. A lazy river plus a good lounge or waterfront restaurant is exactly the kind of math we respect. Geyser Point Bar & Grill If the pool area has a forgettable quick-service counter and a menu that feels like it was assembled by someone who believes “kid-friendly” means round or ketchup-friendly, then Stormalong Bay keeps an edge. The resort pool crown is not just won in the water. It is won with good fries, cold drinks, shade, mobile order, and enough seating to keep everyone from becoming a chair hoarder. Location: EPCOT Area vs. Bay Lake This may be the hardest comparison because both locations have very different strengths. Stormalong Bay has the EPCOT Resort Area advantage. You can walk to EPCOT. You can walk or boat to Hollywood Studios. You can wander the BoardWalk. You have easy access to restaurants, entertainment, and Skyliner connections. For many Disney adults, this is a huge part of why Yacht and Beach Club are worth the price. Disney’s BoardWalk Inn Lakeshore Lodge will be in the Bay Lake area, which gives it a different kind of appeal. It may be better for Magic Kingdom-focused trips, especially for families who spend a lot of time in that park. The setting near Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness could also make it feel more peaceful and tucked away, assuming the transportation and guest flow work well. ©Disney But Stormalong Bay has one huge advantage: we already know how its location performs. With Lakeshore Lodge, transportation is still one of the big things we need to watch. A boat dock appears in concept art and construction coverage, but Disney has not yet released complete transportation details. A gorgeous pool can sell a resort. Bad transportation can make guests mutter things into their refillable mugs. Could Lakeshore Lodge Really Dethrone Stormalong Bay? Yes. It could. If the lazy river is large and scenic, If the slide is well-designed, If the pool has strong theming, If the splash area works for younger kids, If the deck has enough seating and shade, If the dining is strong, and If the whole thing feels more like a resort centerpiece than a pretty rendering, Lakeshore Lodge could become the new “best pool at Disney World” argument. That is a lot of ifs. A whole parade of ifs. An if cavalcade. ©Disney Stormalong Bay is not beloved because of one feature. It is beloved because everything adds up: the sand-bottom pool, the shipwreck slide, the lazy river, the location, the dining, the resort atmosphere, and decades of guest reputation. It has history on its side. It’s waiting for you Lakeshore Lodge has novelty on its side. It also has a chance to learn from what Stormalong Bay does well and what guests find frustrating. Disney knows people love hotel pools that feel like attractions. If Lakeshore Lodge delivers a pool complex that feels immersive, spacious, and genuinely fun, Stormalong Bay may finally have a real rival. ©Disney But dethroned? Not yet. For now, Stormalong Bay is still sitting on the pool throne in sunglasses, looking mildly unbothered. Lakeshore Lodge is the intriguing challenger entering the arena with dramatic lighting, promising concept art, and a towel draped over its shoulder. We’ll need to see the finished pool before we hand over the crown. A frame cabins Until then, keep following Disney Food Blog for more Disney World news, resort updates, vacation planning advice, and the kind of travel tips that can save your trip from becoming an expensive humid obstacle course. We’ll be watching Disney Lakeshore Lodge closely as more details are released, because if Disney is building a new pool champion, we absolutely intend to be there with sunscreen, skepticism, and a very serious snack plan. During a time when tons of new things are opening at Disney World, who would’ve thought we’d be obsessed about this?! Animal Kingdom We recently were at Animal Kingdom to check out the new Bluey experience. We’re talking the brand-new Bluey’s Wild World at the Conservation Station, as well as tons of new Bluey-themed treats. We were in awe of all the new stuff, but that didn’t prevent our eyes from catching another pleasant surprise at the park on our way out! Recently, a viral snack has taken over Disney’s Animal Kingdom by storm! The snack had been drawing in extra-long lines for two reasons. First, because it’s beyond DELICIOUS (no, seriously, it’s our favorite)! Secondly, it’s because you can only get it at one spot in the park. Well…that used to be the case. This thing is going viral for a reason The treat is called the Cookie Dough Brownie Ice Cream Sandwich. It used to only be available at Terra Treats, but now we have found it hiding at another spot. On our way out of Animal Kingdom, we saw that the brownie ice cream sandwich was being sold at the outside concessions on the right as you leave Discovery Island. They’re selling the Cookie Dough Brownie here! We can’t recommend this snack enough! It’s a brownie layered with vanilla ice cream, topped with chocolate chips and edible cookie dough for $8.29. Trust us, this thing definitely lives up to the hype! Now, you don’t have to wait in the super long line at Terra Treats, because it’s quietly sitting in this second spot. Cookie Dough Brownie Ice Cream Sandwich Animal Kingdom might be the spot for treats at Disney World this summer! This Cookie Dough Brownie Ice Cream Sandwich is among our favorites. Plus, Animal Kingdom has Bluey-themed slushies, a cake, and pretzels. They all have a cute look to them, as if it’s something you’d see Bluey and Bingo enjoy in the show. Bluey has finally arrived at Disney World, and she’s brought a Virtual Queue with her! ©Disney The park’s Conservation Station is now home to Bluey’s Wild World, where guests can play and dance with both Bingo and Bluey! Here they can also take photos with Bluey, Bingo, and more, and play games like keepy uppy! Due to the mega-popularity of Bluey — see the massive crowds the character is drawing on the West Coast at Disneyland — Bluey’s Wild World utilizes a Virtual Queue, and will for its initial opening period. In addition, the Wildlife Express Train, Jumping Junction, and the Animal Care experiences at Conservation Station will also be accessed via this Virtual Queue. ©Disney According to Disney, guests can request to join the Virtual Queue via the My Disney Experience app at one of two times: 7:00 AM or 10:00 AM. To request to join the Virtual Queue at 7:00 AM, valid admission is required and, if applicable, a theme park reservation to Disney’s Animal Kingdom is required. Guests do not need to be in Disney’s Animal Kingdom when joining. To request to join at 10:00 AM, a valid admission to Disney’s Animal Kingdom is required. Guests must be in Disney’s Animal Kingdom to join. As usual with Virtual Queues, there are certain tips we’d recommend to try and secure a reservation, including: Ensure you’re signed into your Disney account on your My Disney Experience app at least 10 minutes before the scheduled drop. On the front page of the app, you’ll see the option for the Virtual Queue, even if you’re still many minutes away. If you don’t see it, click on the three lines on the bottom right, then scroll down to “Virtual Queue” and click on it. Click on the Virtual Queue page at LEAST 5 minutes before the drop to confirm your party, ensure you’re familiar with the app, and check your WIFI. One minute before the drop, toggle back and forth between the My Disney Experience app and the world clock to ensure you stay on the correct page for the drop. Make sure you’re on the Virtual Queue page and continue refreshing the page until the “Join Virtual Queue” button turns blue, then click on it as fast as you can. Often, we notice that the drop happens on the SECOND, or sometimes a few seconds early. Parents should also note that the Wildlife Express Train only allows foldable strollers onboard. Therefore, they’ll need to park their stroller at the station in Africa and take the train to Conversation Station, and pick up their stroller upon their return. ©Disney The highly anticipated Bluey’s Wild World has opened at Animal Kingdom, along with a Virtual Queue system that parents need to be aware of. Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu officially hit theaters on May 22nd. Between the heavy promotion of film in media and the opening of the new Mandalorian-themed missions on Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, which opened in Hollywood Studios and Disneyland with the release of the movie, this movie has been discussed a lot. ©Disney Yet, before its release, many Star Wars fans were not looking forward to this new film. However, the box office sales after the opening weekend tell a different story. So let’s get into it! Despite the known skepticism from Star Wars fans, given the disappointment they have felt in the franchise since it merged with Disney, Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu was a big box office success! The movie cost 300 million dollars to create, and in the first weekend alone has made over 100 million dollars in box office sales, making a strong start in its debut weekend. ©Disney This movie marks the first in an unofficial “rebrand” of the Star Wars franchise, after Disney realized that they were relying on quantity over quality, and the films and TV shows they were putting out were not being met with fan support. The hope with this film was that it would provide new interest in Star Wars, both from loyal fans and also appeal to a new audience. ©Disney While this film has still not received glowing Critic reviews, the fans seem to be really loving it, with the current fan score on Rotten Tomatoes sitting at 89%, which is the highest fan score any film has gotten on the film review site since Disney and Star Wars merged. We are very interested to see how the public opinion of this film forms the longer it is out, and the more people have the chance to see it. ©Disney We will make sure to keep you informed of any other Mando and Grogu updates, so stay tuned to Disney Food Blog so you never miss anything. Cool KIDS’ SUMMER is here, and that means tons of characters, dance parties, and more. One of the best parts is the limited-time snacks that have hit Disney World. GRAB-N-GOOF This time, we’re heading straight to EPCOT to GRAB-N-GOOF. This snack stand is right by CommuniCore Hall and is usually only here for the Cool KIDS’ SUMMER event, which ends on September 8th. Who’s ready for some quirky snacks that are full of fun? First, we had the Chicken Goof-Ups for $5.99. These are Just Bare Lightly Breaded Chicken Breast Bites with fried cheese and Goofy sauce. Chicken Goof-Ups If you love Chick-fil-A, we found your favorite EPCOT snack. You can grab this chicken brand from the grocery store, so if you have picky eaters with you who are looking for something more familiar, this might be perfect. The sauce is a honey mustard BBQ combo that also reminded us of Chick-fil-A sauce. You also get a big pile of chewy cheese curds that taste perfect in the sauce, and the whole dish is classic and familiar. Chic-fil-A knock off? Then we had Goof Troop Mac Snack for $5.49, which is fried macaroni and cheese with marinara dipping sauce. Goof Troop Mac SNack We thought this was a great price for the size of the snack! You get three big pieces of fried mac and cheese that were super crispy and crunchy on the outside. The inside was creamy, too. A good sized serving We weren’t big fans of the marinara, and it felt a little out of place, and I think they would have gone better with mozzarella sticks, more than mac and cheese. This was another solid choice that kids will really enjoy. Inside After that, we went for the Gawrsh! Worms Everywhere Cake for $4.49. This dessert is chocolate cake, chocolate ganache, cookies and cream pieces, and gummy candy. Gawrsh! Worms Everywhere Cake While you might be thinking more dirt cups, it’s more of a chocolate lava cake! We’ve had similar lava cakes across Disney, and we’ve always really enjoyed them. It’s super ooey gooey and not overly sweet. It’s super choaltey adn rich and reminded us of eating warm cake batter in the best way. The gummy worms melt into the cake, too, which adds a nice flavor but does make it extra sticky! Lava goodness To drink, we grabbed the Goofy’s Gone Fishing for $19.49. We had this last year, but now you can grab it in this special sipper. The drink is blue raspberry lemonade with strawberry fruit juice-filled pearls and a choice of fish or shark gummy candies. Goofy’s Gone Fishing This slushy was very sweet. While blue raspberry is usually sweet, the fruity boba and candy really played to our sweet tooth and reminded us of our childhood. The souvenir cut is so perfect and might be one of our favorites in the collection. The drink If you grab it without the sipper, it looks like this! It costs $6.99 without the sipper, but we thought the sipper was too cute to ignore. Goofy’s Gone Fishing You can find it right by CommuniCore Hall! GRAB-N-GOOF In the meantime, make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for all of the best snack reviews you need to have before planning your own Disney World vacation. Amazon has once again opened the Disney discount drawer, and frankly, we should not be left unsupervised near the “Add to Cart” button. ©Disney This week, we spotted a whole batch of Disney finds that are currently worth a look, especially if you like your shopping with a little mayhem and a lot of “wait, do I need this?” energy while you’re adding it to your cart anyway (because, same). We’re talking Disney drink recipes, a Bluey LEGO set, Haunted Mansion game night material, Loungefly bags, and even a hotel-style pillow because sometimes the most magical thing you can buy is eight uninterrupted hours of sleep. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. A Taste of Disney Drinks Sippable Recipes in a Pint-Size Book Let’s start with something tiny, adorable, and dangerously giftable. A Taste of Disney: Drinks is a pint-size recipe book featuring nonalcoholic Disney and Pixar-inspired drinks, which makes it great for Disney fans who like the idea of themed sips without needing to turn their kitchen into Trader Sam’s with a permit. Insight Editions describes it as a collection of “sippable recipes” pulled from its Disney and Pixar cookbook lineup. Amazon This is the kind of thing you buy for yourself and then accidentally use as a stocking stuffer, a birthday add-on, a hostess gift, or a “you survived planning your Disney trip” consolation prize. It’s small, cute, and very easy to justify. Those are the three most dangerous words in online shopping. view ON AMAZON LEGO Bluey’s Family House Yes, Bluey is Disney-adjacent enough for this list because she has fully invaded Disney+ and every household with a child, a parent, or an adult who has cried during an episode about cartoon dogs. So, basically everyone. ©Amazon LEGO Bluey’s Family House is built for ages 4 and up and includes details inspired by the show, including areas like the playroom and kitchen. The set is designed for imaginative role play and includes Bluey’s family house with features from the series. This is a strong pick for kids, but let’s not pretend adults are above this. Some of us have spent real money on tiny plastic castles, tiny plastic pirate ships, and tiny plastic plants that will never betray us by needing water. view ON AMAZON Loungefly Star Wars The Force Awakens BB-8 Figural Crossbody Bag Some bags whisper. This one beeps. The Loungefly Star Wars BB-8 figural crossbody bag is for the Disney fan who likes a park bag with commitment. This is not a “subtle nod.” This is a full little droid situation, which means it is automatically more fun than the sensible black crossbody you keep telling yourself you’ll use every day. ©Amazon A figural crossbody can be a great park bag if you’re traveling light. Think phone, cardholder, lip balm, maybe a tiny sunscreen stick, and whatever snack you swore you weren’t going to buy and then absolutely bought. Is it the bag for hauling ponchos, fans, chargers, autograph books, and three emergency granola bars? No. That is backpack country. But for a Hollywood Studios day, a Star Wars outfit, or a trip where your purse needs to have actual opinions, BB-8 understood the assignment. view ON AMAZON Sobel Westex Sobella Queen Size Bed Pillow for Side Sleepers This one is not covered in Mickeys. It does not glow. It does not have a character face. And yet, it may be one of the most practical things on this list. The Sobel Westex Sobella Queen Size Bed Pillow is designed for side sleepers and features a 300-thread-count cotton cover with gel fiber fill. ©Amazon Why is this in a Disney sale roundup? Because these are the pillows featured in Disney resort hotels, and Disney trips are a full-body sport. Between the rope drops, late nights, stroller parking negotiations, festival booth math, and the 19 miles you somehow walked while “taking it easy,” your body deserves a pillow that does not feel like a folded tortilla. Disney’s Beach Club Room This could also be a solid pick if you’re trying to bring a little hotel-room comfort home. Some people buy a candle to remember vacation. Some people buy art. Some people start aggressively researching pillows after one good hotel sleep. We embrace all paths to peace. view ON AMAZON Funko Disney The Haunted Mansion Call of The Spirits Board Game Now this is a family game night with a doom buggy soul. Funko’s Disney The Haunted Mansion: Call of the Spirits Board Game lets players explore classic Haunted Mansion-inspired rooms, collect ghost cards, and deal with those pesky Hitchhiking Ghosts, who apparently still have no boundaries and continue trying to follow everyone home. ©Amazon This is a fun one for Disney adults, Haunted Mansion collectors, and families who want something a little spooky without going full “why is everyone sleeping with the lights on now?” It has enough attraction flavor to make fans happy, but it still works as an actual board game instead of just shelf décor with a rulebook. Also, Haunted Mansion merchandise has a special way of making us say, “I don’t need this,” while already entering shipping information. view ON AMAZON Loungefly Disney Atlantis Kida Mini Backpack Atlantis fans, please report to the cart. Your moment has arrived. The Loungefly Disney Atlantis Kida Mini Backpack celebrates Atlantis: The Lost Empire, which continues to be one of those Disney movies with a fiercely loyal fanbase that will absolutely show up when merch appears. Kida is featured on the front of the bag, her necklace glows in the dark, and the sides include designs inspired by the stones around the Heart of Atlantis. ©Amazon That is not casual bag behavior. That is “I have waited years for decent Atlantis merch and I will not be taking questions” behavior. A mini backpack is also one of the better park bag formats if you want something cute but still functional. It can usually handle the basics: wallet, sunglasses, portable charger, hand sanitizer, compact fan, and the emotional weight of deciding whether you really need another pretzel. You do. view ON AMAZON Just remember: Amazon prices can change quickly, and sale items can sell out without warning. So if something on this list is already making little grabby hands at your Disney-loving soul, it’s worth checking before it vanishes like your patience in a 70-minute quick-service line. ©Amazon We’ll keep watching for more Disney deals, park essentials, Loungefly finds, and little gems hiding in the Amazon jungle, so stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more shopping finds we probably should not be trusted with. This NEW Backstage Tour Is a Muppets Fan’s DREAM
Disney4me posted a topic in Disney Food/Restaurants
If you’re a fan of The Muppets, then this new backstage tour needs to go on your bucket list. But no, this new behind-the-scenes look isn’t at Disney — no theme park ticket required! ©Disney Jim Henson’s Creature Shop, the puppet workshop founded by the legendary creator of The Muppets, is now drawing back the curtain for backstage tours! This year, Jim Henson’s Creature Shop opened its New York City workshop to public tours for the first time. Fans can meet a puppet builder, watch a puppetry demonstration, and take photos and videos with beloved and iconic Jim Henson characters. Henson originally founded the workshop in the 1960s in Manhattan, and it has moved multiple times around the city before settling in its current location in Queens since 2009. ©Jim Henson Co. The 80-minute workshop tours take place on Saturdays between 10 AM and 5 PM. You’ll start in a large room specially created for the tour, filled with real show props and creations from classic movies and TV shows. It’s the only spot on the tour where visitors are allowed to take photos and videos, as much of what’s in the actual workshop is works in progress or proprietary. Sierra Scoenining, a senior puppet builder at Jim Henson’s Creature Shop, ©Associated Press Among the centerpieces is an Oscar the Grouch display where the Sesame Street character is in his familiar trash can surrounded by heaps of fake garbage. You can also see a menacing black throne from The Dark Crystal, Henson’s 1982 live-action fantasy film, and a full-sized working puppet of Junior Gorg, a giant from Fraggle Rock, which requires multiple performers to manipulate. ©Jim Vincenti The workshop space itself is filled with fantastical creatures in various stages of assembly. There are drawers and bins tucked into nearly every corner, brimming with colorful furs, textured fabrics, and ready-made puppet body parts, clothing, and accessories. Fabrication supervisor Scott Johnson working on ‘Fraggle Rock’ puppets ©Ray Kachatorian “There is a level of expertise here that we’re sharing. It’s not just going to a pop-up store or something like that,” Jason Weber, the shop’s creative supervisor, told the Associated Press. “Things are made one-of-a-kind, made by hand with artisans who have been trained for years and decades.” He hopes the tour will allow fans to celebrate the unsung craftspeople who bring these famous characters to life. Jason Weber at Jim Henson’s Creature Shop, ©Associated Press Tickets are $150 per person, and you can book online. We’re so excited to learn more about The Muppets and Jim Henson with this new tour. Not only did a brand-new ride debut at EPCOT, but soarin’ in with it is a brand-new treat! A new treat is now at EPCOT! We went to EPCOT to ride the new Soarin’ Across America, which is a retheme of Soarin’ Around the World for America’s 250th anniversary. While we were there, we noticed that Sunshine Seasons had a new treat themed after Soarin’. We obviously weren’t going to pass up trying it! Sunshine Seasons is a quick-service spot that you’ll find in The Land Pavilion, right next to Living With the Land and across from Soarin’. We love to eat there from time to time, as they offer some delicious dishes you won’t find anywhere else at EPCOT. Sunshine Seasons The new specialty drink that just dropped is called the S’morin’ Across America Milk Shake. Ah, see what they did there?! You can grab it for $9.99, and it looks delicious. It’s a s’mores milkshake that comes with toasted marshmallow, a chocolate bar, a graham cracker, and a Soarin’ hang glider. We couldn’t wait to try it! There’s a new drink! This was a surprising drink! The milkshake itself was very s’mores-flavored, with a lot of marshmallowy taste mixed in with the chocolate. We were expecting a heavy chocolate flavor, so that was a pleasant surprise. It reminded us of the s’mores Frappuccino that Starbucks used to have. S’morin Across America Milk Shake The texture was less ice creamy and more fluffy and marshmallowy. The toppings were AWESOME — the toasted marshmallow was a great addition, and the Soarin’ hanglider is so cute. The hanglider was like a shortbread cookie, which we liked more than those pieces of chocolate that come on treats. There was a lot of whipped cream on top and a lot of graham cracker pieces. Look at all the toppings! Our only complaint is having to use the paper straw — this is why we recommend bringing your own! We honestly think you should get a spoon and spare yourself the pain. The milkshake is thick enough for a spoon. Ok, now that our rant is over, let’s focus back on the drink. We seriously have no complaints! The milkshake was delicious and had a cute theme. We LOVE this! Next time you’re at EPCOT, we think you should pick this up and give it a try. Although maybe wait until after you ride Soarin’ Across America, not before! Bluey is FINALLY coming to Disney World with Bluey’s Wild World in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and while there are so many new experiences to check out in this rethemed area, such as a Bluey and Bingo meet and greet, lots of games, and a petting zoo with animals from Australia, we’ve been REALLY excited to try out the new snacks. YUM This new area opens today, May 26th, and these special snacks are now available in the park for everyone to enjoy. Which ones are worth the price, though? Don’t worry, we tried them all to give you a good idea of what you’ll love! Pizzafari Treats Before you get to Bluey’s Wild World over in Africa, you can stop by Pizzafari close to the front of the park for the Wackadoo Fruit Freeze for $6.79, which is a non-alcoholic frozen twist on Bluey’s beloved fruit salad made with Simply Fruit Punch and garnished with fruit salad. Wackadoo Fruit Freeze This tasted a lot like frozen fruit punch, and has a very strong fruit flavor. It’s light and refreshing, and you definitely get the notes of honeydew and melon. This would be the perfect drink for a super hot day! The top of the freeze We previously got a chance to try the new Fairy Bread Cake, which will cost you $5.19 and is vanilla birthday cake dipped in white chocolate and rainbow sprinkles with raspberry dipping sauce. It’s certainly VERY sweet, and the inside is similar to the texture of a cake pop. While we didn’t get to try it with the raspberry dipping sauce the first time, thankfully it was available this time around. Fairy Bread Cake This reminds us of the inside of a classic vanilla cake pop, and we think it would be a hit with young kids. But for adults? This is incredibly sweet. The raspberry sauce on the side helps balance out those sugary flavors, so if you’re not interested in the sweetness overload, we’d advise consuming copious amounts of the sauce with each bite. We got to try the sauce this time. Bluey’s Berry Lemonade is also available for $6.79, which is Frozen Minute Maid Lemonade blended with flavors of blueberry, blackberry, and raspberry. You can also grab it at Eight Spoon Café! Bluey’s Berry Lemonade This one was tart and essentially tasted like a classic lemonade in slushy form. The toppings are pretty sugary, and if you’re a lemonade purist, you might not like the addition of the sugary sprinkle-like topping. This was nice on a hot day but not necessarily something we’d rush back to try again and again. Up close view of the lemonade Ultimately, we’d choose the Wackadoo Fruit Freeze as our favorite of the Pizzafari bunch! Isle of Java You can also head over to Isle of Java to snag the Pretzel’s Pretzels for $15.99, which are soft mini pretzels with homemade cheese and blueberry-mustard sauces. Pretzel’s Pretzels Unfortunately, there were some serious inconsistencies in the quality of the pretzel nuggets themselves. The bottom layer of pretzels were pillowy and soft, while the top were almost as crunchy as croutons. We suspect this was because they were sitting under a heat lamp. The nugs But the sauces? These were the STAR. The cheese sauce was absolutely dreamy, smooth and cheesy just like we hoped it would be. It has a nice punchy flavor. Cheese sauce The blueberry barbecue sauce was rather interesting, with a sweet blueberry flavor primarily. We wish there was a bit more mustard in this sauce to balance the sweetness out. It’s best in small portions, but this would be excellent on a piece of chicken. Cool Kids’ Summer has officially kicked off in Disney World! This summer bash brings new limited-time offerings to all four Disney World parks, and we’re so excited that one of our favorites has returned this year! GoofyCore At GoofyCore, you can dance and play along with the Goof Troop, DJ Dance Pants, and Goofy himself in tons of fun activities. Here’s everything you need to know if you’re checking out GoofyCore on your next EPCOT visit! GoofyCore is inside CommuniCore Hall at EPCOT in the World Celebration area. It’s open daily from 10 AM to 6 PM. This family-friendly experience is aimed at younger kids and preschoolers, but we find that it’s just as fun for the grown-ups and kids-at-heart, too! GoofyCore This year, CommuniCore Hall has been transformed into a massive game board! There are cards with different characters along the walls, and the board game path goes along the ceiling and floor. Goofy! Goofy’s Game Machine presents playtime favorites such as Goofy Says, Balloon Bonanza, and Parachutes ‘n’ Pipsqueaks. We played The Goofy Hokey, which is just like The Hokey Pokey, but Goofy themed! Goofy’s Game Machine You’ll also be able to chat with Goofy and Max throughout the day, but there aren’t set times for when they’ll appear. This isn’t a formal meet-and-greet, so they’ll be up and dancing or playing games most of the time! We recommend staying at GoofyCore for at least 15 to 30 minutes if you’re hoping to see Goofy and Max. Hey, Goof! We’re so excited that GoofyCore is back for the summer. The last day is September 8th, so make sure to head to EPCOT before it’s gone until next year. Stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more Disney World news! As a DFB reporter, I spent a LOT of time in Magic Kingdom, day after day. So I know what you actually need for the park and what you can leave at home. Magic Kingdom’s Cinderella Castle Packing for your Disney World vacation can feel overwhelming, but we’re here to help! There are six essentials we are saying are ones you actually need at Magic Kingdom. Sure, can other items make your day easier? Yes. But, these are the items I would be sure you packed! DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. 1. Reliable Shoes At Magic Kingdom, you can end up walking over ten miles, and trust me, you need a reliable pair of shoes. You want shoes that you have already broken in ahead of time, but that are still in great condition. You want shoes that are supportive and comfortable, but lightweight. Hoka Women’s Clifton 10 Sneakers I wear my Hoka Clifton 10s all day at the parks, and my feet feel so much better. These are lightweight but very supportive. When you’re walking miles and miles around all day, you need shoes that are going to last you, and these do that. view ON AMAZON 2. A Handheld Fan It gets HOT at Disney World. While there are some shady spots at Magic Kingdom, it is always helpful to have a breeze that you can control. Whether you’re in line for a ride or needing to take a break indoors from the heat, having a handheld fan can keep you from overheating. JISULIFE 3 IN 1 Handheld Mini Fan The JISULIFE 3-in-1 Handheld Mini Fan has come in handy for us while in the parks. It might be small, but it’s mighty at keeping us cool. It can also be used as a portable power bank and a flashlight. view ON AMAZON 3. Portable Phone Charger You will be on your phone a LOT while in Magic Kingdom. Between taking photos and videos and checking wait times, your phone battery will drain fast. You don’t want to be stuck with a dead phone at 1 PM with the rest of the day ahead of you. FuelRod Our favorite portable charger are FuelRods. There are kiosks throughout all of Disney World where you can swap out your dead FuelRod for a new one for FREE. So no need to stress every night about recharging it, you simply head to a kiosk and swap it out for a fully charged new one. view ON AMAZON 4. Hand Sanitizer You might want to come home from Disney World with a lot of things, but you don’t want to come home sick. The number of things you touch at Magic Kingdom… let’s just say there are a LOT of germs. So having hand sanitizer that you have easy access to is essential. Touchland and Disney Hand Sanitizer + Mist Case The Touchland & Disney Special Edition Hand Sanitizer + Mist Case is cute as can be with its mist case complete with Mickey ears, and Mickey on the front of the hand sanitizer case itself! This is one fluid ounce of Wild Watermelon hydrating hand sanitizer, which has notes of jasmine petals and peaches, reminding you of summer. The case comes with a key ring that makes it easy to attach to bags, lanyards, and more, and we do like that the case allows you to see how much hand sanitizer is actually left. View on Amazon 5. A Refillable Water Bottle You need to stay hydrated at Magic Kingdom, and while you can get free water from quick service locations, having a refillable bottle to put them in will keep you from stopping every 20 minutes for more water. You want a bottle that will keep your water cold and one that is easy to carry around. Little Mermaid Owala We recommend using a refillable water bottle like this Owala one! We have tested the Owala bottle in the parks, and it keeps our water cool. It’s also not super heavy to carry around — plus this one is Ariel themed, so it’s great for Disney World. view ON AMAZON 6. Sunscreen Yes, you’re in sunny Florida, and yes, you need to protect your skin. You want to be sure to reapply throughout the day to keep protected. Supergoop! For example, we’ve really been enjoying this Supergoop! Sunscreen, and maybe it could be the one for you! It’s effective at protecting your skin. It fits perfectly, even in a fanny pack. And it’s typically less expensive than picking up the option you find in the parks. view ON AMAZON We’re always on the hunt for the latest and greatest Disney souvenirs and essentials, so don’t forget to stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for more! A TON of new rides and experiences are now open in Disney World, including Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster Starring the Muppets, Bluey’s Wild World, and Soarin’ Over America. However, we can’t forget about all of the many Disney World projects still under construction. Piston Peak Construction And over in Magic Kingdom, we’ve got a new Piston Peak update we have to tell you about! Piston Peak is a Magic Kingdom expansion themed to the Cars universe. However, to stay in theme with the Frontierland aesthetic, in this land, you are visiting Piston Peak National Park, a nature wonderland in the Cars universe. ©Disney We will be getting two new attractions in this land, as well as lots of immersive natural scenery to explore. We are so excited for this land to open, and we’ve got an update on the construction process. Piston Peak Construction On our last visit, we noticed lots of earth and dirt being moved around, as well as drainage pipes that looked staged for installation. This would be a huge step forward in the construction process. Exciting next steps There is still a very long way to go before this land is open for the public to explore and enjoy, however. Still a long way to go But, we are excited that after a long closure, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad has officially reopened, with an updated track, new effects, and a brand new scene! This marks the first step of the major Frontierland expansion and update. Piston Peak Construction from Big Thunder We will make sure to keep you informed of any Piston Peak news or construction updates, so stay tuned to Disney Food Blog so you never miss anything!
