One Disney World trend we never love to see coming is price increases. Victoria & Albert’s Over the last few years, we’ve noticed an annual price increase on almost everything related to the Disney parks, from snacks to tickets and even table services. Even Signature Dining Experiences continue to increase in price, and this latest hike is no different. Now, the price has increased for the most exclusive dining experience in Disney World. It’s not uncommon to see Disney World increase prices every year on food, experiences, park tickets, Annual Passes, and more. If you’re heading on a trip anytime soon and have plans to dine at Victoria & Albert’s at the Grand Floridian, you need to be prepared to pay even more. Waygu Pastrami Previously, Victoria & Albert’s prix-fixe menu began at $295.00 per Guest. Optional wine pairings started at $155.00 per guest, and zero-proof pairings started at $115.00 per guest. But now, the prix-fixe menu is $375.00 per guest. Optional wine pairings start at $210.00 per guest, and zero-proof pairings start at $145.00 per guest. Wine Pairing That’s a whopping $80 increase on the base menu, and a $55 and $30 increase for the wine pairing and zero-proof pairing starting prices, respectively. Rocky Mountain Lamb The price increases come after Disney announced that Chef Matthew Sowers had been promoted from chef de cuisine at Victoria & Albert’s to the new executive chef of the entire Grand Floridian Resort. With its AAA five-diamond rating, Victoria & Albert’s is one of the three most critically acclaimed restaurants in Florida. And, in May 2024, Victoria & Albert’s was awarded a Michelin star. Additionally, the renowned foodie website laliste.com has published its list of the Top 1,000 Restaurants for 2025, and Victoria & Albert’s received a score of 93.5, putting it within the top 25 highest-placed American restaurants on the list. Belgian Caviar The main Dining Room is available for only two seatings per evening, and features the Chef’s Tasting Menu, which allows guests to choose anywhere between eight and twelve courses. Guests receive personalized menus that Victoria & Albert’s begins to construct about a week before your reservation. Miyazaki A-5 at Victoria & Albert’s The Queen Victoria Room is a slightly more secluded option here. It only accommodates up to eight guests at a time, spread out over four tables of two, and guests also enjoy a version of the Chef’s Degustation Menu. The pricing here is the same in the main dining room. Old Fashioned Also available is the Victoria and Albert’s Chef’s Table, an ultra-exclusive 3-hour dining experience where your party is seated in the kitchen. The chefs that the guests interact with at the Chef’s Table craft their very own degustation menu that features all of their fresh and rare ingredients, depending on the party’s tastes. There is one seating per night for parties of up to 6 guests (with a minimum of 4), and bookings need to be made as close to 60 days ahead as possible. It’s no secret that MagicBands have become an integral part of Walt Disney World vacations over the last decade+. They can serve as room keys, payment methods, entry tickets, be used to check-in for Lightning Lanes, connect with Photopass, and react to select Disney theme park attractions with “lighting effects and gesture recognition”, and they’re available in a slew of cool designs! MagicBand+ Now, Walt Disney World Annual Passholders have exclusive access to some big MagicBand perks. Disney Annual Passholders can purchase one MagicBand+ per Annual Pass pre-arrival via MyDisneyExperience, and receive: Free shipping Free personalization A custom shipping box, which, according to Disney, can be used for a fun unboxing moment. The purchased band will be automatically linked to My Disney Experience! Those are some pretty big perks for APs, especially since MagicBands can be a bit pricey these days – basic bands go for around $35, more decorated bands with character or park iconography go for around $45, and limited/anniversary celebration bands are priced at $50 and up – and MagicBands are no longer included free with vacation packages. MagicBand+ Interestingly, while Disney is expanding MagicBand discounts on the East Coast, rumors abound that the same can’t be said for Disney World’s West Coast counterpart. According to reports, Disneyland is set to halt on-property sales of MagicBand+ bands. Grab your MagicBand and let’s go! These reports indicate that Disneyland will sell through its current stock – available at Elias & Co. at Disney California Adventure, Emporium at Disneyland Park, and World of Disney at Downtown Disney – and will order no additional stock. According to theme park journalist Scott Gustin, Disneyland officials have said that the Magicband+ experiences will continue to operate, even without the sale of the bands. On Thursday, May 21st, a hazmat incident and potential chemical leak began in Garden Grove, California, located just five miles from Knott’s Berry Farm and Disneyland. Pixar Pier at Disney California Adventure Neither park is in the identified evacuation zone, and both are currently still open. Disneyland has now released an official statement regarding the incident. Here’s what you need to know if you’re planning a visit to the Happiest Place on Earth right now. A hazmat incident at GKN Aerospace on Western Avenue in Garden Grove occurred on Thursday, May 21st, and has since worsened over the weekend. The crisis involves a malfunctioning chemical tank that threatens to explode and release a toxic cloud, which would affect hundreds of thousands of people in the area and for miles around, including Disneyland. Sleeping Beauty Castle As of now, Disneyland is not in the identified evacuation zone, but many are wondering whether it’s safe to visit the parks. Disney officials have now put out a statement advising that, at this time, ” there is no impact to Disneyland Resort due to this situation and the resort remains open to guests.” Disney said that they are actively monitoring the situation and taking guidance from local authorities. Disneyland The statement goes on to say, “The Disneyland Resort is approximately five miles from the incident and is not in the identified evacuation zone. Updates can be found by following Orange County Fire Authority on social media.” Disney is advising people to check the local guidelines before travel. Road closures, detours, or traffic disruptions in the surrounding area may impact how people get to and from the resort. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland So, while Disneyland isn’t in the evacuation zone and the parks remain open, travel to and from Disneyland could be impacted due to the chemical incident. Disneyland Currently, the situation has forced 40,000 people to evacuate in an impact zone, which includes parts of Garden Grove, Anaheim, Cypress, Stanton, and Westminster. When speaking about the situation, a Knott’s Berry Farm employee spokesperson said, “The safety and well-being of our guests and team members is a cornerstone of our business. We are working closely with our partners at the Orange County Fire Authority to actively monitor the situation. At this time, the park has not been impacted.” Disney California Adventure As of the evening of Saturday, May 23rd, the Disneyland union instructed Cast Members who feel unsafe and are affected by the chemical leak to stay home. We also know that while Disneyland itself isn’t in the potential blast zone, many Disneyland guests stay in the Garden Grove area, and others travel through it on their way to the park. The governor has also declared a State of Emergency. During the afternoon on Sunday, May 24th, Orange County Fire Authority Interim Chief TJ McGovern said firefighters did “a recon mission on the tank” late Saturday night, during which they discovered a crack, which could be relieving some of the pressure, ABC7 has reported. What makes this different from regular packing cubes is that it transforms into hanging shelves once you arrive. You basically pack it flat inside your suitcase, then unzip it and hang it up in the closet. Suddenly, all your shirts, park outfits, and extra gear are visible instead of buried in luggage piles. It has multiple compartments, zipper pockets, dividers, and compression straps, so it holds a surprising amount. Bagsmart hanging bag We also appreciated the two-hook setup because it kept the shelves stable while loading them up. Sound quality was surprisingly solid for how thin and lightweight it is. Just keep in mind that placement matters. If it sits too close to the edge of the pillow, nearby sleepers may still hear it. Entrance crowds at Hollywood Studios For months now, we’ve known that May 26th would be a big day in the parks. Not only is it the start of Cool KIDS’ SUMMER, but Disney also set it as the opening date of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, the opening of Bluey’s Wild World, as well as the beginning of the new offerings available at The Walt Disney Studios, among MANY others. Imagine our surprise when, just in the past few days, Disney decided to open some of these new attractions EARLY, and we also got a first look sneak peek at others! Yep, this is the start of a VERY busy summer in Disney World, so if you’re visiting this season, you’ll want to keep a close eye on all the latest news. You won’t want to miss some of the latest and greatest additions! Soarin’ Across America Opens EARLY Soarin’ Across America was originally set to open in EPCOT on May 26th with the start of Cool KIDS’ SUMMER, but we knew we’d get a chance to ride the attraction earlier thanks to Cast Member previews. Additionally, Walt Disney World Annual Passholders were able to experience the ride with Annual Passholder Previews on May 19th and 20th. Then, it was expected that the ride would remain closed until the official May 26th opening. Soarin’ Across America However, that’s NOT what happened! Disney had those Annual Passholder previews as expected, but then decided to open the ride EARLY! When we walked up, the ride only had a 10-minute wait, and a Cast Member was sure to remind us that this was a soft opening. That means that the ride may not be up all day, and isn’t guaranteed to be available up until the official opening date on the 26th. We definitely still think it’s worth checking out, though! NEWS: Soarin’ Across America Has Opened EARLY at EPCOT New Adventures on Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run Disney’s Hollywood Studios is also the home of tons of excitement right now, all across the park. In the span of one week, THREE sections of the park were planned to open, including the new adventures coming to Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run in Galaxy’s Edge. Fortunately, this ride never had to close to the public to make these changes, which was a big win. The original debut date has always been today, May 22nd, and now, the new adventures are officially available! New missions on Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run The new adventures are inspired by The Mandalorian and Grogu, the new film that just dropped in theaters today as well! We got a chance to get a sneak peek at the new adventures available two days prior to opening, and this debut didn’t open early, but that’s totally okay, because the day is already here. There are now three different storyline options the engineer can choose from, all of which involve being on a bounty hunt for three bounties — two imperial soldiers and a pirate. We absolutely love the new version of the ride and think it’s about to become even more popular than it already is, so pack your patience! FIRST LOOK at Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run Changes in Disney World FØØD by Swedish Chef Opens EARLY! While Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets is still on track to open on time (not early) on May 26th, the new dining spot right nearby, FØØD by Swedish Chef, also opened early and is available to guests as you read this! FØØD by Swedish Chef This spot takes the place of the former KRNR The Rock Station dining location, but there’s an all-new menu to match the retheme. Now, you can snag items like the Wocka Wocking Nachos, the Churro Drumstick, the Mayhem Soft-serve Float, some Pink Le-moi-nade, and the Pond Water Limeade, along with classics like the Mini Corn Dog Nuggets that are still on the menu. It’s not every day we get excited about chips in Disney World, unless, of course, it’s like the chips with Fish and Chips (which we LOVE) or those really cool and unique Lays flavors we often find at the Japan and China Pavilions in EPCOT. Metro Deli Chips No, we’re talking about regular old potato chips, the kind that usually come as a side with a lot of sandwiches, burgers, and hot dogs in Disney World or are available as just a snack. However, Disney’s Animal Kingdom just switched up its chips game, and well, it’s a HUGE improvement, and we need to talk about it. We were recently visiting Harame Fruit Market in Animal Kingdom and noticed something had changed with the chips options. We spotted Metro Deli chips. Now, we’ve actually seen these at other snack carts, too, so they’re becoming available throughout the park. Now, at Harambe Fruit Market, they’re still serving Lays if you get a hotdog, but you can now get any bag of chips for $3.29, including Metro Deli Sea Salt chips. Why is that game changing? Well, these are a larger bag of chips, so you get more, but the quality is also SO much better. Right beside the Doritos These chips taste like house-made chips, and they are consistently good. They’re the thick cut, kettle-cooked kind of chip with the PERFECT amount of salt. They also have a much more real potato flavor and, according to our reporter, “I hope I never have to eat a Lays chip in Disney World again now that I know this is possible.” We hope to see them EVERYWHERE So you can get a bigger bag of better chips for the same price, and that’s a win-win in our book! Room service at most Disney World hotels has been gone for over five years now, since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, and at this time, there’s no sign it’ll return to the majority of hotels any time soon. Oh how we miss room service! That makes us sad, and it has been every day for the past 5+ years, but we have to admit that there is something out there that makes it…at least a little bit better. At select Disney World hotel table service restaurants, you may notice an option called “To-Go.” This means that, while it can’t be brought to your room, you are able to order a meal, go and pick it up, then bring it back to your room to enjoy instead of eating inside the restaurant. Is it really worth it, though? We found out for ourselves! During a recent stay at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, we hopped onto the My Disney Experience App and noticed that Steakhouse 71 had the To-Go option available for guests staying at the hotel. This was listed separately from the restaurant itself, as well as the Steakhouse 71 Lounge — it was listed in the app as “Steakhouse 71 To-Go.” This option is only available for restaurants that have the To-Go option listed! Steakhouse 71 We were able to select our preferred pickup time, and then we were able to scroll through the WHOLE menu to see what we wanted to eat. Yes, this doesn’t just give you a small selection of the menu — the majority of the menu is readily available for you to choose from, which we loved. This means we didn’t have to worry about getting a reservation, which can be hard for a restaurant with this level of popularity, but we still got to choose from the whole menu! The front of the menu! We ended up choosing the 10-oz New York Strip for $38, which comes with Charred Asparagus and Whipped Horseradish Cream. Once we had placed our order, we walked over from Bay Lake Tower when the app told us it was ready, then took the meal right back to our room. Eating fancy in our room! We felt the food was of equal quality to what we would get at the table. The steak was a well-cooked medium-rare NY strip, though we don’t feel it stood out particularly from a seasoning perspective (though the horseradish helped that). We thought the asparagus was a bit undercooked, but we did like how thick and hearty the spears were. A solid meal We also really enjoyed being able to eat in a Disney Vacation Club (DVC) room (shoutout to David’s Vacation Club Rentals for hosting us!), as it had a full kitchen, so we were able to plate the meal nicely. Even without that, though, we do feel like the meal came packaged well from the restaurant. Would we do it again? I went to Disney World recently and walked 60 miles during my vacation. Yep, that’s right! 6-0 MILES. Cinderella Castle And you know what? I did that pregnant and with a toddler! Even after all that stepping, I felt GREAT at the end of the week, and I think it’s my packing list that saved me. If you visit the state of Florida, there’s WAY more to do than just visit Disney World and Universal Orlando. You can also visit SeaWorld Orlando, LEGOLAND Florida, Busch Gardens in Tampa Bay, and more! Welcome to Peppa Pig Theme Park If you have little ones, though, you might just want to skip all of those and head straight to Winter Haven and visit Peppa Pig Theme Park Florida. We recently had the opportunity to visit the new-ish theme park (it opened in 2022), and we were surprised at how much fun it was. So it’s pretty obvious that this theme park is targeted to young children, and as such, it’s basically a giant playground for preschool-aged kids. So let’s talk about everything you can do at Peppa Pig Theme Park. Rides Okay, first, we were surprised at just how many rides this theme park has. There are certainly enough to fill a day with, especially if you include other activities. Did we hop on many of these rides? Yes, we did! For science! Daddy’s Pig Roller Coaster was actually way more thrilling than we expected. There are two laps to it, and the forces are INTENSE. We actually got a little dizzy on it. In other words, your kids will love it. Daddy Pig’s Roller Coaster Meanwhile, Grampy Rabbit’s Dinosaur Adventure was a lot tamer (and for that, we were actually grateful). It’s chill, and there is barely any noise or music, so it’s also quiet. But kids will love the opportunity to ride a dinosaur (like who wouldn’t?). Let’s ride a dinosaur! Grandad’s Pirate Boat Ride spins in a circle and goes up and down over waves, and it goes a little faster than we expected. It’s also surprisingly fun and thrilling. Grandad’s Pirate Boat Ride The Fun Fair is a fairground adventure that includes some fun carnival games that everyone can participate in. We did the ducky game! We caught one! Other attractions you can experience here include: Mr. Bull’s High Striker George’s Fort Grandpa Pig’s Greenhouse Madame Gazelle’s Nature Trail Mr. Potato’s Showtime Arena Muddy Puddles Splash Pad Peppa’s Pedal Bike Tour and George’s Tricycle Trail Peppa Pig’s Balloon Ride Peppa Pig’s Treehouse Pirate Island Sand Play Rebecca Rabbit’s Playground Cinema There’s so much to do! Entertainment There is a show, too, although we didn’t get to experience it. It’s called Peppa Pig Comes To Play, which is an interactive show with singing, dancing, and playing with Peppa. However, we did get to do a fun activity called the Pig Family Travel Adventure. You grab a passport, and the goal is to explore the park. Our Passport You go to five different stations that have cool themes. You’ll complete a puzzle, decorate the family in winter gear, etc. For each activity, you get a stamp. Getting our stamps After you collect all the stamps, you get a prize! Ours was Pop It Badge you can wear on your shirt. Our prize It’s a fun activity that just about anyone can enjoy. Note that it’s only available on select dates: May 23rd, 24th, 25th, 30th, 31st, and June 6th, 7th, 13th, 14th, 20th, 21st, 27th, and 28th. You’ll want to do this early in the day because as the day progresses, the lines for the activities gets longer. Shopping You’ll find one store in Peppa Pig Theme Park, Mr. Fox’s Shop. Here’s where you can buy a lot of fun souvenirs! Mr. Fox’s Shop We couldn’t resist the Peppa Pig ears headband! WE LOVE IT Your kids will certainly want to spend money here. Food Okay, let’s talk about food, which is pretty much what we live for. There is one restaurant, Miss Rabbit’s Diner. It’s one of the few spots you can grab some a/c in. Miss Rabbit’s Diner We got to try a few of the limited offerings available at the restaurant, including Adventure Dumplings. These kinda’ reminded us of Trader Joe’s dumplings, but not as soupy. The texture is chewy with juicy meat inside. You get a total of five, so it’s a pretty solid lunch. These are mild, so kids will probably appreciate them, too. Adventure Dumplings We also tried the Berry Creative Croissant available at the diner right now. It was bigger than we expected. It was a buttery, flaky croissant with a layer of Nutella, berries, and marshmallow fluff. We really loved the flavors, especially with the addition of marshmallow fluff. This one is both a kid and adult-pleasing snack. Berry Creative Croissant We also got to try the South Pole Snowballs from Mr. Potato’s Cart. This is Birthday Cake Dippin’ Dots, which is a wonderfully cold treat for a very hot day. It’s fun and you get a slight cake batter flavor. It’s also a lot of fun, and again, something that should please the whole family. South Pole Snowballs You’ll find a few more snack carts around the park, too. Now, we have a word of warning: it gets HOT in this park. Everything is out in the open, and there isn’t a lot of shade except for one outdoor seating area, a store, and an indoor restaurant. There are a lot of Disney “hacks” out there, but we’re sharing five that actually work at Magic Kingdom. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train We go to Disney World as part of our job, so we want to share some first-hand experiences we use daily to get on Magic Kingdom’s attractions. There is a lot to do at this park, and you might feel overwhelmed at first. But we’re here to help! Below are five ride hacks we use that work, and you can use them on your next trip, too. 1. Utilize Early Theme Park Entry If you are staying at a Disney hotel, you should take advantage of Early Theme Park Entry. Early Theme Park Entry means you can not only enter a theme park 30 minutes before opening, but also begin riding attractions. It’s worth the early morning to knock out at least one of the most popular rides, like Space Mountain or Peter Pan’s Flight. Early entry sign! 2. Skip the Fireworks OK — hear me out. If you want to skip the fireworks at Magic Kingdom, or maybe you have already seen them once this trip, then it’s a good time to get on one last ride. Wait times can drop around then, and as long as you’re in line when the park closes, you’ll be able to ride. Happily Ever After This can also work for the parade, the Festival of Fantasy. Many guests will want to see the parade and will start waiting for it to begin around 30 minutes in advance. This is the perfect time to hop on a ride. We have seen wait times drop significantly around this time, so why not take advantage of it? TRON Lightcycle / Run 3. Strategize Your Lightning Lanes If you are purchasing Lightning Lane Multi Pass and you want to ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, we recommend using your Tier 1 on it. The reservations for that ride are typically gone by 9:09 AM on average, so you will likely not be able to book it later in the day. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure For your first ride of the day, try to get a time as early as possible so that once you scan in, you can grab another Tier 1 attraction. Space Mountain or Jungle Cruise are good options to grab here, as they will usually not fill up early. Line for Jungle Cruise 4. Head for Kid Rides First If you have young kids, this is a great time to knock out a lot of the Fantasyland rides. Rides like Dumbo, Mad Tea Party, The Barnstormer, and “it’s a small world” are rides that will have a short wait time and run rather quickly, allowing you to move on to the next one. Dumbo 5. Head to One Last Ride at Right Before Park Close A big ride hack is getting in line for an attraction right before the park officially shuts down. As long as you enter the queue before the posted closing time — yes, even one minute before — Disney will still allow you to ride. That means if Magic Kingdom closes at 10PM and you hop in line for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train or Space Mountain at 9:59 PM, you’re good to go! Cast Members will close the line at the official park closing time, but anyone already inside the queue can still experience the attraction, pending mechanical or weather issues. This strategy can seriously maximize your park day, especially if you save a high-wait attraction for the very end of the night. May 26th is a HUGE day at Walt Disney World, so many experiences are opening up all around the parks, including the highly anticipated Bluey’s Wild World opening at Animal Kingdom. In just a few days, guests will be able to hang with their favorite Australian pup in this new experience. Bluey dancing in the crowd! However, it looks like getting into this new experience might be more difficult than you think. Let’s get into everything you need to know. Bluey’s Wild World is located at the Conservation Station at Animal Kingdom, an area that must be accessed by train. And here you can meet Bluey, have dance parties, play games from the show, and visit a petting zoo with all Australian animals. Bluey has arrived! Everyone is so excited for this new experience; however, Disney recently announced that this area will only be available through a Virtual Queue. And we just noticed that the virtual queue is already showing up on the My Disney Experience App. So let’s get into everything you need to do if you want to visit Bluey on your Animal Kingdom day. Bingo! In the morning, before 7 AM, open your My Disney Experience App and on the main page, click on Virtual Queue. Here, it will take you to the Bluey’s Wild World Virtual Queue page. When you get to this page, confirm your party and then wait until 7 AM. Once it hits 7 AM, you’ll be able to try to join the queue. ©Disney To join the queue at 7 AM, you must have a valid park admission or a theme park reservation in applicable. And if you don’t get the first drop, don’t worry, there is another drop at 10 AM. However, you should be aware that to participate in this drop, you need to be inside the park. Disney has not announced how long this Virtual Queue system will be in place for, so if you have a trip coming up, be prepared to secure a virtual queue if you want to hang with Bluey. Hi Bluey! There is a very specific Disney World heartbreak that happens when you open My Disney Experience, tap into Lightning Lane availability, and realize the ride you wanted is gone. Lightning Lane Not “gone” as in “temporarily unavailable.” Not “gone” as in “check back later.” Gone, as in the app has decided your dreams may now go stand in a 95-minute line and think about their choices. The thing is, SOLD OUT Lightning Lanes usually do not appear out of nowhere. Yes, Disney World can throw a curveball. A ride can go down. Weather can reshuffle the whole park. A new popcorn bucket can turn a walkway into a human traffic jam. But most of the time, we can see the warning signs. And if you know what to look for, you can predict which Lightning Lane Multi Pass selections are most likely to disappear early, which days are going to be rough, and when you need to act like your thumbs are in an Olympic qualifying event. Lightning Lane at Zootopia Better Zoogether A quick refresher before we get into the strategy: Lightning Lane Multi Pass lets you choose up to three experiences and arrival windows in advance. After you redeem your first Multi Pass experience on the day of your visit, you may be able to choose another one, subject to availability. Disney Resort hotel guests and guests of select hotels can purchase Lightning Lane passes up to seven days before their stay, while other guests can purchase up to three days before their park visit, starting at 7 AM Eastern on their first eligible day. Wilderness Lodge in Disney World In plain English: availability matters before your trip and again during your park day. So let’s talk about how to spot the Lightning Lanes that are about to vanish into the digital fog. Watch the Usual Suspects Some attractions simply have “sell out early” written all over them. Based on our Lightning Lane availability research, a few rides tend to book up painfully early for day-of selections. EPCOT’s Test Track and Magic Kingdom’s Big Thunder Mountain Railroad both averaged around 8:47 AM for Lightning Lane availability running out. Slinky Dog Dash in Hollywood Studios averaged around 9:09 AM, Frozen Ever After around 9:59 AM, and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure around 10:18 AM. Tiana’s That is not “after lunch” early. That is “you were still looking for your sunglasses in the hotel room” early. Other notable early book-ups in our data include Tiana’s Bayou Adventure around 11:33 AM, Peter Pan’s Flight around 12:12 PM, Toy Story Mania! around 12:28 PM, Na’vi River Journey around 12:30 PM, and Jungle Cruise around 1:28 PM. Jungle Cruise Lightning Lane So before you even think about holiday crowds or special events, start with the attraction itself. Is it a headliner? Is it family-friendly? Is it tied to a beloved movie? Does it have lower capacity? Is it in a park where there are only a handful of true heavy-hitter rides? If the answer is yes, you are not browsing Lightning Lane options. You are racing a tiny invisible clock goblin. Check the Calendar Before You Check the App The easiest way to predict a rough Lightning Lane day is to look at the calendar and ask, “Would a large number of people reasonably be off work or out of school right now?” If yes, sharpen your elbows. Metaphorically. Please do not actually elbow anyone in Fantasyland. That is how villains are born. Disney World Crowds Holiday weekends are major warning signs. Memorial Day weekend, Fourth of July weekend, Labor Day weekend, Thanksgiving week, Christmas week, New Year’s week, and spring break season can all create the kind of demand that makes Lightning Lane availability disappear earlier than usual. Lightning Lane prices may be higher during peak periods, including holidays, and prices vary by date, theme park, and attraction. That is not just a pricing note. That is a giant neon hint that demand is expected to be higher. ©Disney When Disney expects higher demand, you should expect higher competition for the most popular Lightning Lane selections. This matters most for the attractions that already disappear early on normal-ish days. If Test Track, Big Thunder, Slinky Dog Dash, Frozen Ever After, and Remy are already booking up before or around late morning in our data, then on peak crowd days, you should assume they may be even less forgiving. Line for Slinky Dog Dash On those dates, your Lightning Lane plan should not be “we’ll see what’s available.” That is not a plan. That is a prayer with a Wi-Fi dependency. Pay Attention to Special Events Some days have normal calendars but abnormal energy. May the Fourth is the obvious example. Hollywood Studios becomes a magnet for Star Wars fans, and that can put extra pressure on Star Wars attractions, especially Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run and Star Tours. Even if Rise of the Resistance is a separate Lightning Lane Single Pass attraction, the overall Star Wars crowd can still change the feel of the park. Mandalorian and Grogu Our data shows Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run averaging a book-up time around 6:50 PM, while Star Tours averaged around 8:05 PM. Those are not the earliest disappearing attractions in Hollywood Studios, but special-event demand can shift priorities quickly. The same idea applies to festival openings at EPCOT, runDisney weekends, holiday party season, and fan-driven dates. Sometimes people are not just visiting a park. They are visiting for a specific vibe, photo op, event, overlay, snack, race medal, or “I was there” moment. And when that happens, Lightning Lane demand can get weird. Star Tours EPCOT festival weekends can bring heavier crowds, especially around World Showcase. Magic Kingdom party season can make non-party days more crowded because guests often avoid days when the park closes early for special events. Hollywood Studios can spike around Star Wars-centered moments. Animal Kingdom can feel different when a new entertainment offering or character experience pulls people deeper into the park. Fans are dressing up for the occasion! The big lesson: do not only ask, “Is this a holiday?” Ask, “Is there a reason a specific fan group will show up in force today?” Because Disney fans are organized. Terrifyingly organized. There are people who know exactly which limited-edition sipper they want before you have located the bus stop. Watch New Ride Openings and Big Returns New and returning attractions are Lightning Lane chaos machines. Anytime Disney opens a new attraction, brings back a long-closed ride, debuts a retheme, or reopens a major headliner after a lengthy refurbishment, you should assume demand will be weird. Not always bad, but weird. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure lines People who visit Disney World regularly want to try the new thing. People who only visit once every few years want to try the new thing. Influencers want to film the new thing. Disney adults want to emotionally process the new thing. Everyone is suddenly a historian, a critic, and a ride capacity analyst. That can put enormous pressure on Lightning Lane availability. We have seen this pattern with major attraction transformations and returns, and it is one reason attractions like Big Thunder Mountain Railroad can become especially important to watch when they come back into the mix. In our data, Big Thunder averaged a Lightning Lane book-up time around 8:47 AM, which is spicy enough without adding reopening buzz on top of it. Opening day crowds EPCOT is another park to watch carefully because its headliners are limited and demand can concentrate quickly. The current Lightning Lane Multi Pass lineup for EPCOT includes a top group where guests choose up to one from Frozen Ever After, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, and Test Track. So when one of those has a major update, reopening, or elevated buzz, that demand does not spread politely across the park. It dogpiles. Test Track queue Hollywood Studios has a similar issue. The current top Multi Pass group there includes Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, and Slinky Dog Dash. If one of those is brand-new, newly rethemed, or freshly back from downtime, expect competition. Fresh paint plus nostalgia equals app-refreshing madness. Do Not Ignore the Farewell Tour Effect Openings are not the only thing that causes a Lightning Lane stampede. Closings can do it, too. When Disney announces that a beloved attraction is closing permanently, changing themes, or going down for a long refurbishment, people suddenly develop very strong feelings about riding it one last time. This is how long the Splash Mountain line was on its last day Sometimes those feelings are reasonable. Sometimes those feelings involve a 110-minute wait and a commemorative snack. The heart wants what it wants, even when the knees are filing a formal complaint. We saw this kind of demand when Splash Mountain closed to make way for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. We also see interest spike when attractions switch themes, receive seasonal overlays, or prepare for major changes. If Soarin’ changes versions, for example, guests may rush to catch the outgoing version or prioritize the incoming one once it debuts. Soarin’ Around the World This is where the Lightning Lane strategy gets emotional. A ride does not have to be the newest or fastest attraction in the park to sell out early. It just has to become urgent. If Disney announces that an attraction is closing soon, even temporarily, expect demand to rise. If it is a beloved ride with generations of fans attached to it, expect demand to rise a lot. Your warning signs are phrases like “final day,” “last chance,” “before it closes,” “returning soon,” “limited time,” and “new version.” Those are not innocent little phrases. Those are crowd magnets in a trench coat. Learn the Tier Trouble Lightning Lane Multi Pass is not just about which rides are popular. It is also about how Disney groups them. At Magic Kingdom, Disney’s current Multi Pass structure has guests choose up to one attraction from a top group that includes Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Jungle Cruise, Peter Pan’s Flight, Space Mountain, and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Then guests choose their other selections from the second group. ©Disney That matters because the top group is where the blood sport happens. In our data, Big Thunder averaged around 8:47 AM, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure around 11:33 AM, Peter Pan’s Flight around 12:12 PM, and Jungle Cruise around 1:28 PM. Space Mountain averaged later, around 6:20 PM, but it is still in that top selection group and can be affected by crowd level, downtime, and guest priorities. It blocks the paths! At EPCOT, the top group includes Frozen Ever After, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, and Test Track. Our data shows all three booking up before late morning on average: Test Track around 8:47 AM, Frozen around 9:59 AM, and Remy around 10:18 AM. That is a brutal little trio. EPCOT looked at Lightning Lane strategy and said, “Pick your favorite child.” ©Disney At Hollywood Studios, Slinky Dog Dash is the standout early book-up in our data at around 9:09 AM. Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway averaged around 3:22 PM, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run around 6:50 PM, and Star Tours around 8:05 PM. But when Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets enters the equation, that top group could become much more competitive, especially early in its run. ©Disney Animal Kingdom is different because Disney’s current Lightning Lane Multi Pass lineup does not use the same top-tier grouping structure listed for the other three parks. Guests choose up to three available experiences there, including Expedition Everest, Kali River Rapids, Kilimanjaro Safaris, Na’vi River Journey, and Zootopia: Better Zoogether! ©Disney That does not mean Animal Kingdom is easy mode. It just means the pressure behaves differently. Na’vi River Journey averaged around 12:30 PM, Kali River Rapids around 2:27 PM, Expedition Everest around 3:10 PM, Zootopia around 4:16 PM, and Kilimanjaro Safaris around 4:37 PM in our data. Animal Kingdom may give you more breathing room than EPCOT or Hollywood Studios, but “more breathing room” is not the same as “ignore it until dinner.” Watch the Weather Weather does not just affect your outfit. It affects Lightning Lane demand. Rain can make outdoor rides less appealing, temporarily shut down certain attractions, or send guests scrambling toward indoor rides. Heat can make air-conditioned attractions feel like sacred temples. Cold snaps, lightning, storms, and Florida’s beloved “surprise, the sky is soup now” afternoon weather can all reshape how people move through the parks. Rainy day at Animal Kingdom This is especially important for day-of Lightning Lane availability. If a ride goes down earlier in the day, guests may start shifting to other options. If an outdoor attraction is unavailable or uncomfortable, indoor attractions may get gobbled up faster. If a storm clears and everyone suddenly wants to ride the same thing at once, availability can tighten quickly. Kali River Rapids is a good example of a ride where weather and temperature can matter. On hot days, a water ride can become very attractive. On cooler days, guests may suddenly remember that wet denim is an enemy of joy. Kali River Rapids is currently closed In our data, Kali River Rapids averaged around 2:27 PM for book-up time, but that number can feel very different depending on whether it is 93 degrees and humid or one of those oddly chilly Florida days when everyone is wearing spirit jerseys like emergency blankets. The lesson: if the weather makes one attraction more appealing, less appealing, or less reliable, expect Lightning Lane availability to react. Watch for Ride Downtime Ride downtime is the mystery ingredient people forget to plan for. Let’s say a headliner goes down for part of the morning. That does not just affect people in that line. It can affect Lightning Lane availability across the park. Guests may pivot to other rides. Return windows may shift. Demand may compress later in the day. Suddenly, the app starts looking like someone shook it in a snow globe. Kali River Rapids This is one of the reasons a ride can sell out earlier than expected on a day that does not look especially crowded on paper. Hollywood Studios is particularly vulnerable to this because it has several major headliners and not a huge number of filler rides that absorb crowds gracefully. If Slinky Dog Dash, Tower of Terror, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, or Rise of the Resistance have issues, people do not just shrug and go to the next Indiana Jones Stuntacular show. They start making strategic pivots, and those pivots show up in Lightning Lane availability. Uh Oh! Rise of the Resistance has been known to break down Magic Kingdom has more rides, so it can absorb crowds better, but the most popular family-friendly attractions still feel pressure. Peter Pan’s Flight, Jungle Cruise, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Big Thunder, and Haunted Mansion can all become more important if nearby attractions are down or demand gets redistributed. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is closed This is why our best advice is to check the app early and often on the day of your visit. Lightning Lane experiences and options are subject to change or closure without notice and are subject to availability, so your beautifully crafted plan still needs a little battlefield flexibility. Plan like a strategist. Pivot like someone who has accepted that the monorail sometimes has opinions. Watch the Virtual Queue Curveball Here is the twist: sometimes the most in-demand new experience may not use a traditional Lightning Lane setup at all. Disney can use a Virtual Queue for select attractions or experiences, especially with popular launches or debuts. When a Virtual Queue is in place, standby options may be limited or not available, and guests need to check the My Disney Experience app for the current rules and distribution times. Virtual Queue on My Disney Experience app That’s important because guests often assume every new thing is a Lightning Lane problem. Sometimes it is a Virtual Queue problem. Different beast. Same tiny phone-based stress portal. For example, Bluey’s Wild World at Conservation Station will use a Virtual Queue when it opens on May 26, 2026, with no standby queue available and daily opportunities to join through the My Disney Experience app. Bluey and Bingo So when something new opens, do not just ask, “Will the Lightning Lane sell out?” Ask, “Is this using Lightning Lane, Virtual Queue, standby, Single Pass, Multi Pass, or some strange new app ritual that requires caffeine and emotional stamina?” Tron virtual queue sign Check before your trip. Check again the night before. Then check again in the app that morning, because Disney operations can change, and the app is the tiny oracle we all now serve. Disney World EPCOT Lightning Lane Strategy for 2026 Build Your Plan Around the First Tap-In One of the biggest Lightning Lane mistakes is picking late return times for your first selection without understanding what that does to your day. With Lightning Lane Multi Pass, once you redeem your first selection, or once that arrival window has passed, you can check availability for another Multi Pass experience and add to your plans, subject to availability. You can keep making additional selections one at a time until regular park closing, assuming there is still availability. Mad Tea Party Lightning Lane So if your first Lightning Lane is late in the afternoon, you may be waiting a long time to unlock that next pick. On a low-crowd day, that may not matter. On a high-demand day, that can mean the best options are already toast by the time you get to make another move. This is where your strategy depends on the park. At EPCOT, if Test Track, Frozen Ever After, and Remy are the ones vanishing early, you probably want to secure the strongest option you can in advance and be realistic about what might still be available later. The “we’ll just grab Frozen after lunch” plan is charming. It is also how you end up riding The Seas with Nemo & Friends and calling it character development. Frozen Ever After At Hollywood Studios, Slinky Dog Dash is the obvious early priority. If you get it, fantastic. If you do not, consider whether you want to prioritize Toy Story Mania!, Tower of Terror, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, or another available attraction based on your group. Just know that Hollywood Studios can get competitive quickly because the headliners are concentrated. At Magic Kingdom, Big Thunder’s average book-up time in our data is especially aggressive, and Tiana, Peter Pan, and Jungle Cruise are also important to watch. Since Magic Kingdom has more total Lightning Lane options, you may still have decent backup choices later, but the best ones can still disappear early. Peter Pan’s Flight At Animal Kingdom, you may have more flexibility, but Na’vi River Journey is the one to watch earliest based on our data. If that is a must-do, do not treat it like an afterthought. The secret is not just buying Lightning Lane Multi Pass. It is sequencing it intelligently. Disney World Hollywood Studios Lightning Lane Strategy for 2026 Know the Park-by-Park Danger List Here is the fast version for your next planning spiral. At Magic Kingdom, watch Big Thunder Mountain Railroad first, especially with an average book-up time around 8:47 AM in our data. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Peter Pan’s Flight, Jungle Cruise, Space Mountain, and Haunted Mansion are also key attractions to monitor. Magic Kingdom has lots of Lightning Lane options, but the top choices still disappear fast when crowds are heavy. 13 Minutes! At EPCOT, take Test Track, Frozen Ever After, and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure very seriously. In our data, all three averaged sell-out times before late morning. That is the park where your top pick matters a lot because the headliner pool is smaller and demand concentrates quickly. Test Track At Hollywood Studios, Slinky Dog Dash is the big one. It averaged around 9:09 AM, making it one of the fastest disappearing options in our data. Toy Story Mania!, Tower of Terror, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, and Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets are also worth watching, especially on high-demand days. Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway At Animal Kingdom, Na’vi River Journey is the earliest major book-up in our data, around 12:30 PM, followed by Kali River Rapids, Expedition Everest, Zootopia: Better Zoogether!, and Kilimanjaro Safaris later in the day. Animal Kingdom may be less frantic, but it is not immune to sell-outs. Na’vi River Journey Lightning Lane This is not about panicking. It is about knowing which rides deserve urgency and which ones can wait without you needing to emotionally narrate your disappointment into a spicy Diet Coke. Disney World Animal Kingdom Lightning Lane Strategy for 2026 The Final Rule: If Everyone Wants It, Book It Like They Do The easiest way to predict a sold-out Lightning Lane is to stop thinking like one person and start thinking like the crowd. Is it a holiday weekend? People want it. Is school out? People want it. Is a ride new, returning, closing, changing, or newly rethemed? People absolutely want it. Is it one of the few big headliners in the park? People want it. Is it tied to a popular franchise, a nostalgic classic, or a character people would defend in a group chat? People want it. Is the weather bad, the park crowded, or another major ride down? People want it harder. That is the whole game. Lightning Lane availability is part data, part crowd psychology, part phone-speed duel. ©Disney Because in Disney World, the best Lightning Lane strategy is not “hope for the best.” It is “know what will disappear first, and beat everyone else to the tap.” So before your trip, check the calendar. Universal Orlando is home to three theme parks that are incredible to explore throughout the day, not to mention CityWalk connecting two of them, but what about when it’s hot outside, and you’re looking to cool off? That’s where you’ll find lots of guests head to Volcano Bay, a fan-favorite water park in all of Orlando! Volcano Bay Nights are back! During summer days, you’ll find that the water park is pretty packed, thanks to the promise of cool water and epic water slides to bring joy to people of all ages. What if you want to bypass the crowds, though, and maybe you don’t want to be swimming (or waiting in line for slides) in the heat of the day? That’s where Universal’s $99 Volcano Bay Nights experience comes in, but is it really worth the cost? We found out! Volcano Bay Nights takes place on select nights May 3rd through August 21st, and yes, the bulk of the event takes place after the sun has gone down and the heat of the day is long gone. The event is limited-capacity, meaning that lines for rides, food, and characters will be shorter than during the day. Yes, we said characters! You’ll be able to say hello to some of your favorite characters from Shrek and Madagascar, and we even spotted Hiccup and Astrid from How to Train Your Dragon! It’s Hiccup and Astrid! Feeling like you want to dance? Don’t miss checking out the Beach Bash at Waturi Beach with a live DJ — this is actually where we spotted Skipper from Madagascar breaking it down! Skipper is ready to dance! If you’ve been to Volcano Bay, you know that one of the most popular water slides is Krakatau. It’s essentially the Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure of the water park — it’s THAT popular! Yet, with the limited capacity of this event, we were able to walk right on MORE than once! Ride Krakatau as many times as you’d like! When it comes to the food you’re able to grab at the event, we loved that there was such a great variety! Our reporter has a few dietary restrictions and was concerned about what they’d be able to grab, but found that the Chorizo Tacos at the Feasting Frog are made with plant-based chorizo, so they were able to fully enjoy them! In our reporter’s experience, they were better than almost anything vegan at Disney World quick service restaurants — they just tasted like incredible tacos. Chorizo Tacos Not in the mood for tacos? Don’t worry, there are plenty of other dining options available, which we really appreciated. Snacks and a Coca-Cola Freestyle cup are included in the price of admission to this event, and to us, that’s an INCREDIBLE deal! Especially since the Epic Universe specialty flavors are available at the Freestyle machines, so if you haven’t yet been to Epic, or have visited and have been missing the flavors, you can snag them easily here. The Epic Universe flavors are available! Considering the fact that it can cost up to $199 to skip the lines at Volcano Bay during peak dates, we feel like you can’t afford NOT to spend $99 to skip the scorching midday sun, get included snacks, a Freestyle cup, and experience this fantastic park with so few people. This is a no-brainer if you don’t have a Universal Annual Pass that includes Volcano Bay. We understand how it would be hard to stomach paying an additional $99 when you’ve already paid so much for your pass, but we really believe this is a valid extra expense and still might be worth it. And even if you don’t have an Annual Pass, we feel this is the ONLY way to do Volcano Bay if you’re concerned about crowds, the heat, and getting to experience everything you want to. We’re so happy the event has been brought back, and hope it continues to be available for years to come! Such an incredible event! If you’re heading to Hollywood Studios this June, there are some major changes to be excited for! Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets From newly reopened attractions to special events, Hollywood Studios has a lot more than construction going on next month. Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run w/Mando & Grogu At the tail end of May, one of Galaxy’s Edge’s attractions welcomed a major change. In conjunction with the release of the new Star Wars Mandalorian & Grogu feature film on May 22nd, Millennium Falcon Smuggler’s Run saw the addition of a new mission based on the titular character and his youngling Grogu (Baby Yoda, to those of you unfamiliar with the Galaxy Far, Far Away). ©Disney According to Disney, as part of the new experience, “the crew will be in control of their own destination, leading to potential adventures on Bespin, the wreckage of the second Death Star around Endor, or the just-announced bustling city-planet, Coruscant.” In addition, another new gameplay addition allows the engineer positions to communicate with Grogu, making them much more “important” to the ride’s overall story and narrative. ©Disney Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets A few days after Mando and Grogu arrived, the Muppets will take over an iconic E-Ticket! This new take on the class thrill ride features a soundtrack of classic songs as covered by the Electric Mayhem, as well as animatronics of Scooter, the penguins from Muppet*Vision 3D, and even Stadler and Waldorf! Ready to rock! After Hours Events If you want to ride these attractions with smaller lines, an After Hours Event may be your best bet. These separately ticketed events allow guests to enjoy beloved attractions with lower wait times for an extra two hours after the park closes to the pubic, plus enjoy snacks included in the cost of this ticketed event. Hollywood Studios will play host to After Hours events on June 3rd, 10th, 17th, and 24th. Magic Kingdom is currently in the midst of not one, but TWO major park changes, and that’s absolutely affecting the way most guests experience the park. Westward Ho The creation of Piston Peak and Villains Land has resulted in the closure of multiple offerings (some permanent, others temporary, such as the half-closed Walt Disney World Railroad track), and it is very likely those closures aren’t over. Most recently, we just saw Big Al’s close in Frontierland, and while Disney hasn’t come right out and said it’s permanent, it certainly looks like it. This is your warning that soon, perhaps sooner than you realize, another Frontierland spot could be going away for good. While Frontierland itself isn’t going away (at least, Disney hasn’t announced that at all), a large portion of the park that used to be taken up by Tom Sawyer Island and the Liberty Square Riverboat is in the process of becoming Piston Peak, and that’s beginning to affect other offerings in the area. Again, we saw Big Al’s close just a few weeks ago, and now we’ve got a pretty big hint that Westward Ho could be next. The Mickey Cinnamon Roll from Westward Ho Beginning June 22nd, Westward Ho no longer shows any times available on the Disney World website. This is very similar to what we saw happen with Big Al’s — suddenly, no times were showing on the website, and sure enough, the stand closed down that same day. ©Disney Not to mention, we’ve already seen one of the dining options unique to this spot, the Candied Bacon Skewer, move to Golden Oak Outpost, and while we’re relieved it’ll still be available, we’ll be sad to see this spot go. We also have to admit that we’re worried about one of our other favorite eats here, the Mickey-shaped Bacon-Pecan-Caramel Cinnamon Roll! It’s one of our favorites, and we’ll be devastated (no, not an exaggeration) if it doesn’t move elsewhere. Candied Bacon Skewer It’s possible that we could see something else move into this spot that is more themed to the new Piston Peak land, but there’s no set-in-stone plan at this time that Disney has revealed to the public. While Walt Disney World may currently be in a period of transition and construction, that doesn’t mean things are slowing down at the “Most Magical Place on Earth.” Cinderella Castle In fact, the resort is about to HEAT UP with the launch of the Cool Kids’ Summer promotion! Don’t sweat it, though, we’ve got everything you need to know to avoid any potential chaos! Running from May 26th through September 8th, the Cool Kids Summer promotion features new versions of classic attractions, entertainment, and perks for guests staying at Disney World Hotels. Big Thunder & Buzz are BACK! Before we get into Cool Kids’ Summer proper, it behooves us to mention both Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Both of these Magic Kingdom stalwarts reopened in recent weeks after long refurbishments, and both have seen some notable improvements. Our new favorite character in Tomorrowland? Buzz features new ride vehicles, new blasters, new interactive targets, and a new scene featuring the original robot character named Buddy, which ensures that “departing Space Rangers are fully prepared for their mission (by) enthusiastically providing encouragement, final system checks on their Star Cruisers, and a chance to hone their blaster aim.” The new ride vehicles! The legendary Big Thunder, meanwhile, returned in early May after a refurbishment that lasted well over a year. The legendary E-Ticket features updated tracks and trains that “preserve the attraction’s classic storytelling and trademark hootin’ an’ hollerin’ energy” while improving the ride experience. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad These changes and a “comprehensive review from their safety teams” have even allowed Disney to lower the ride’s height requirement from 40 inches to 38 inches. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Buzz has returned as a Tier 2 Lightning Lane and is available during Early Entry, while Big Thunder is a Tier 1 Lightning Lane and is not available during Early Entry. It’s time to start the show! The Tier 1 Lightning Lane attraction will be available during Early Entry, according to Disney’s website. Ready to rock! Fly High for America’s Birthday May 26th will also see the official opening of a new take on Soarin’ over at EPCOT. In celebration of America’s 250th birthday this coming July, the ride has received an “all-new airborne adventure across the US, honoring the heart and spirit of the nation.” The refurbishment is part of the “Disney Celebrates America” campaign, a “company-wide initiative spanning programming, storytelling, and experiences across its iconic brands and businesses.” Some destinations include the New England coastline, New York Harbor, the Grand Canyon, Mount Rushmore, and “so many quintessentially American settings… the autumn colors of the heartland; the beauty of our bayous; the great plains of the west; the northern wilderness; and sunlit island shores.” How gorgeous! Soarin’ Across America will be a Tier 2 Lightning Lane offering. The preshow! In addition to these rides, several entertainment offerings are coming to the resort on May 26th, including: Jessie’s Roundup: A Rip Roarin’ Review at the Magic Kingdom. Led by “everyone’s favorite yodelin’ cowgirl” Jessie, guests “craft, dance, and yodel their day away” with Woody and friends in a “high-spirited Western revue!” The show will make the first live entertainment in the Diamond Horseshoe in over two decades. From the Magic Kingdom’s opening in 1971 through 2004, the restaurant – which has alternated between table service and quick service throughout its history – has hosted several incarnations of the Diamond Horseshoe Revue… and Goofy’s Country Dancin’ Jamboree. One of those things is certainly not like the other. Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live is a live show revolving around Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse searching for Goofy, Daisy Duck, and Pluto as audiences clap, cheer, and dance along as the adventure unfolds, which is premiering at Hollywood Studios. EPCOT’s Communicore Hall will be home to GoofyCore, a dance where guests can “dance and play along with the Goof Troop, DJ Dance Pants, and Goofy himself.” Finally, May 26th will ALSO see another major opening, because Disney decided to go HARD on Memorial Day Weekend this year. Animal Kingdom will finally welcome Bluey! The park’s Conservation Station will be home to Bluey’s Wild World, where guests will be able to “play and dance with Bluey and Bingo! Play some of (their) favorite games from Bluey episodes with a fun animal twist, like butterfly keepy uppy”, grab the whole family, and “snap some pictures alongside your Blue Heeler pals to remember this one-of-a-kind adventure. Plus, as part of your wild excursion, step outside to discover an experience with animals native to Bluey’s home country of Australia!” Of note, this experience will utilize a virtual queue system, at least initially. ©Disney On the hotel side of things, May 26th will also see the return of the water park perk. In 2025, Disney introduced a new water park perk for hotel guests, which gave each member of their party admission to one of Walt Disney World’s water parks on their check-in day. The perk is returning from May 26th to September 8th. Typhoon Lagoon In addition, there are several Cool Kids Summer perks available to guests at the Caribbean Beach Resort, Port Orleans Resort – Riverside, Art of Animation, and Pop Century: Scheduled Character Appearances: Meet some favorite Disney pals—like Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse—during scheduled appearances. Everglazed Donuts in Disney Springs is one of the many spots to grab a sweet treat in the shopping and dining district, but there’s a reason it remains one of our favorites. A Donut Burger! While the location is home to classic donuts every day of the week, along with cold brew to make for the perfect morning meal, there are also some pretty unique options on the menu. Some of them are year-round, while others come and go, and this returning menu item? Well, it’s ONLY available for Memorial Day weekend, and while it messed with our minds, we highly recommend you check it out before it’s gone! Available only through May 25th, Everglazed has a new Donut Burger on its menu, and it’s MASSIVE! We’ve seen it at this spot before, but we’re thrilled it’s made a comeback, even if it’s for a limited time. Despite what you may think when looking at it, YES, it is all made of donuts and buttercream, plus the addition of the seeds at the top, that really tricks your mind into thinking you’re about to bite into a burger! We love the addition of the seeds The Donut Burger consists of a glazed donut cut in half, acting as the top and bottom buns, plus buttercream lettuce, ketchup, and cheese, and is complete with a chocolate cake donut in the middle to act as the burger. The textures here are on point, which makes this not only fun to eat, but delicious (but VERY sweet) too. Look at those details! The pillowy softness of the glazed donut was beautiful, and while they’re plenty sweet, the majority of the sugary taste comes from the buttercream itself. While the “toppings” are different colors, they’re not flavored differently, so it’s just buttercream through and through. The cake donut in the middle really brings it all together — since it’s a firmer, denser donut, it acts well as the “meat” of the burger. It’s fun, unique, delicious, and certainly shareable, so in our eyes, if you love sweets (with a special spot for donuts), this is a must-try. So fun! It’s been one of those times in Disney World where, if you blink, you somehow miss five changes that all seemed to have happened in the past 24 hours. It’s a busy time to be in the parks, that’s for sure! Pua and Thumper in Walt Disney Studios This past week alone, Disney has opened multiple attractions early, such as FØØD by Swedish Chef and The Walt Disney Studios in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, as well as Soarin’ Across America in EPCOT, all of which were originally set to open on May 26th. MORE closures are finally reopening this upcoming week, on time on May 26th (which is when Cool KIDS’ SUMMER is set to officially begin), so if you’re traveling to the parks, now is 100% the time to keep up with ALL the changes. The highly anticipated changes at Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run have also now arrived, resulting in new adventures for guests to experience. Now, you may find yourself wanting to ride the attraction over and over again to get all the new stories and take it all in. Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run Despite all the exciting reopenings, many other closures are continuing in Disney World this week, so if you’re traveling, let’s take a look at the other closures taking place from May 21st through May 29th. Magic Kingdom The Diamond Horseshoe In preparation for Cool KIDS’ SUMMER, beginning on May 26th, The Diamond Horseshoe restaurant is closed. The Diamond Horseshoe is closed! When the restaurant reopens on May 26th, it won’t be a table service restaurant like before. Instead, it’ll be the home of Jessie’s Roundup, an area where kids can craft, dance, and have other kinds of fun inside a nice air-conditioned space. Currently, it’s expected that the restaurant will return to its normal offerings around September 8th when Cool KIDS’ Summer ends. Storybook Circus Pete’s Silly Sideshow is temporarily unavailable as of January 4th, 2026. This is the Storybook Circus meet and greet area, where you can meet Donald Duck, Goofy, Daisy Duck, and Minnie Mouse as they join the circus. Good news, though! While Pete’s Silly Sideshow will be closed, you can still meet all of the characters! You will find Goofy and Minnie at the entrance to Storybook Circus, and you can find Donald and Daisy in the back of Storybook Circus by the restrooms. Pete’s Silly Sideshow However, now there’s ANOTHER closure in the land as well. Big Top Souvenirs closed on February 20th, and Disney has said it’ll “reopen for guests to enjoy later this year,” but there’s no date in sight. When we stopped by recently, we noticed that the entire top of the store is GONE right now! Talk about a jumpscare! The tent disappeared! We’re really curious to see how this all turns out, so we’ll keep you updated! Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island An iconic part of the Magic Kingdom is now permanently closed. As of July 7th, 2025, the Rivers of America, including the Liberty Square River Boat and Tom Sawyer Island, are permanently closed to make way for the new Cars area, Piston Peak. There are lots of construction walls up in the area now, and the structures on Tom Sawyer Island have been demolished. Most recently, we saw some updates to the concrete on the land, as well as leveling taking place for the new attractions — how exciting! Piston Peak construction Piston Peak National Park will be replacing this area of the Magic Kingdom. Disney has not yet announced an opening date for the new Cars area, but we do know it will feature two brand-new attractions and be themed to look like a National Park. Magic Kingdom Looks Completely Different Ahead of a BUSY Day Next Week Disney’s Hollywood Studios Animation Courtyard Animation Courtyard closed on September 25th, 2025, to make way for Walt Disney Studios. This new area was originally set to begin opening on May 26th, 2026, but opened earlier this week! Star Wars Launch Bay will be turned into The Magic of Disney Animation. This attraction will have you interacting and exploring with this fun take on Disney Animation headquarters, complete with the return of the Sorcerer Mickey hat! Mickey’s Sorcerer Hat is back! Currently, the only areas open are the new courtyard and the Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! show. This area will also feature a new Drawn to Wonderland indoor play area and the current Disney Jr. Play and Dance! show will be getting a makeover. It’ll turn into Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live, and we just recently got confirmed showtimes for the new experience, which will open on May 26th. Some of the walls have also recently been taken down, revealing more of the courtyard area! Muppets Courtyard Muppet*Vision 3D and PizzeRizzo closed on June 8th, 2025, and Muppets Courtyard has been walled off for construction on the new Monsters, Inc. land. Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano has been closed since May 11th, 2025. Most recently, we saw FOUR permits filed for different buildings inside this area, which is quite exciting. We also recently got some more aerial photos of the upcoming suspended roller coaster, which looks fantastic so far. ©Bioreconstruct Don’t worry, the Muppets won’t be missing from Disney’s Hollywood Studios forever. The Muppets will be taking over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster this summer! Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets will open on May 26th, 2026! This new ride will feature iconic Muppets like Kermit, Miss Piggy, and Gonzo, plus a brand-new soundtrack featuring Def Leppard, Kelly Clarkson, and Jennifer Hudson! Most recently, we’ve seen a lot of work being done on the guitar, which is now rainbow… Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster …and the front entrance is now painted gray/silver and has a new G-Force Records sign! We Were NOT Expecting the Crowds at the Opening of Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run at Disney World Today EPCOT Refreshment Port Refreshment Port located near the Canada Pavilion in EPCOT’s World Showcase closed for refurbishment on January 12th. We’ve heard nothing on it for months, but now, we know that when it reopens, it’ll become La Poutinerie! La Poutinerie Concept Art ©Disney The spot will be sponsored by Air Canada, and promises to deliver “a Canadian classic with a twist.” Disney hasn’t announced an opening date or a menu, but we’re hoping our favorite poutine will come back any day now! NEWS: Soarin’ Across America Has Opened EARLY at EPCOT Disney’s Animal Kingdom Rafiki’s Planet Watch On February 23rd, Disney temporarily closed Rafiki’s Planet Watch and the Wildlife Express, which takes guests over to this part of the park, to make way for the new Bluey attraction coming to the park for Cool KIDS’ SUMMER on May 26th. For the time being, you can still visit the Wilderness Explorer badge offerings, as well as a few character meet and greets, at the train station. Rafiki’s Planet Watch is officially closed Bluey’s Wild World will become a permanent addition to the park, where you can meet Bluey and Bingo, play games with them, and even pet animals from Australia in the petting zoo, Jumping Junction! It was recently announced that there will be a Virtual Queue required to experience the attraction, so keep that in mind when planning your visit. DinoLand, USA On February 2nd, DinoLand, USA officially closed to make way for the new Tropical Americas land, Pueblo Esperanza. Most recently, a new permit was filed for the new Encanto ride to install set elements, and nine new permits were filed today for electrical work. ©Disney || Tropical Americas Land coming to Animal Kingdom This new land is shaping up nicely! It will have three new rides – a carousel featuring classic Disney animals, an Indiana Jones ride where you’ll explore a Mayan temple, and an Encanto ride that invites you into the Madrigal’s home! Most recently, we saw two new permits filed for the upcoming Indiana Jones ride! One of the Best Restaurants in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Just Got Pricier Disney World Hotels Boat Dock — Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Starting on May 11th, the Boat Dock at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort became unavailable for guests to use due to refurbishment. The dock is closed! Boat transportation is expected to be unavailable from now through June 5th, though construction on the dock as a whole will continue through late June. It’s not too bad, but this does mean the only way to get from the hotel to Magic Kingdom is to take the Monorail or walk. Kiddie Pool Deck — Disney’s Pop Century Resort Disney recently announced that the Kiddie Pool Deck at Disney’s Pop Century Resort will close for refurbishment beginning April 13th. Kiddie Pool Deck The previous timeline for reopening was the end of April, but now the Disney World website lists that the closure will begin on May 4th and continue through mid-May. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa This hotel has been undergoing refurbishments for quite some time now, but some sections of the hotel — specifically the porte cochere — will continue to undergo refurbishment through at least early 2027. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort We certainly hope it’ll actually reopen on this timeline — we’re a little tired of seeing construction all over this beautiful hotel! Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort Currently, work is taking place all over Bay Lake Tower through Late 2027. Additionally, exterior elevator landing repairs will be taking place through late May 2026. Bay Lake Tower While currently no major closures are taking place due to this construction, it’s important to note you may see or hear construction during your stay. Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort For those looking to dine at this hotel, you need to know that the Turf Club Bar & Grill and Turf Club Lounge will both be under refurbishment from mid-March through mid-September 2026. Turf Club Bar & Grill In early April, the Turf Club Lounge will close for refurbishment and will reopen in early August. In the meantime, the Turf Club Bar & Grill will remain open with a pop-up bar serving a modified Lounge food and beverage menu. Then, from early to mid-August, the Turf Club patio will close for refurbishment, and finally, from mid-August through mid-September, the Turf Club Bar & Grill will be closed for refurbishment, but the Turf Club Lounge will be open. Leisure Pools — Disney’s Yacht Club Resort and Disney’s Beach Club Resort Disney’s Yacht Club and Disney’s Beach Club Resort are currently undergoing visible exterior maintenance. The maintenance could affect views and may require alternate routes at times. In addition, two of the resort’s leisure pools will close for routine maintenance. Tidal Pool At Disney’s Yacht Club, the Admiral leisure be will be closed for maintenance through early May 2026. At Disney’s Beach Club, the Tidal leisure pool will be closed for maintenance through early May 2026. Guests may see or hear construction work, but it will only be done during the daytime hours. Yachtsman Steakhouse — Disney’s Yacht Club Resort On May 11th, Yachtsman Steakhouse officially closed for refurbishment. Yachtsman Steakhouse The restaurant is expected to open sometime in early August, though no official date has been set. Promenade Fine Art Gallery — Disney’s BoardWalk Inn and Resort The Promenade Fine Art Gallery closed its Disney’s BoardWalk location on October 20th, 2025. However, the Promenade Fine Art Gallery isn’t closing for good, and it will just be moving to a new location. Promenade Fine Art Gallery Most recently, Disney just filed permits for the BoardWalk titled “Project Amazon” and “Project Bubbles,” so it’s possible we could see some movement on these updates soon! Jellyrolls — Disney’s BoardWalk Jellyrolls at Disney’s BoardWalk officially closed on April 19th, 2025. This entertainment venue has provided our team with countless memories, and we know many others are also sad to see it close. Jellyrolls had its final farewell performance on April 19th. 2025 and closed its doors forever on Disney’s BoardWalk. What is to become of its former location, though? Well, there are now walls all up around the building, so work IS being done, but it’s not yet clear what will arrive in its place. Jellyrolls Now, we know that Jellyrolls will be moving to a new location about 10 minutes away, and a grand opening is planned for late summer or fall 2026. We also know that the new location will have free parking, be closer to the space that the original Disney location was in, and allow people to be dropped off and picked up by rideshare services right at the front door. There are tons of places around Disney World to dine at, but the shopping and dining district that is Disney Springs is a great go-to. Just know that when you go to Disney Springs to eat one time, you can’t help but keep going back. Homecomin’ in Disney Springs Once we found out that Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ had a new menu item, we had to rush over to try it. It’s a brand-new pork chop that is exclusively available during Memorial Day week, so you need to make your way to Disney Springs before it’s too late! We tried the exclusive Blueberry BBQ Pork Chop for $42.00, and we have to share our thoughts with you. Is this item worth going out of your way during Memorial Day week to grab? Blueberry BBQ Pork Chop The pork chop is perfectly cooked! It was very juicy and tender, and the barbecue sauce was sweet. You can taste the sweetness of the blueberry and a smoky finish in the sauce. It was grilled so well that you can clearly see all of the grill marks on the meat. This looks delicious! The horseradish mashed potatoes are perfectly smooth without too much butter, so the potato flavor really comes through. The horseradish lingers just a little at the end of each bite, creating a very pleasant horseradish flavor without it being overwhelming. Let’s take a bite! We had concerns over the asparagus when we saw them, but that fear was quickly gone after trying them. They were perfectly cooked, well-seasoned, and very tender and delicious. They go incredibly well with the pork chop and the mash altogether. This dish is GREAT! The biscuit had a strong, but not unpleasant, taste of buttermilk. It was not dry at all! The cheese and chives throughout come through in each bite. There is a reason people have been requesting this item to be put back on the menu. It is delicious and is the perfect summer dish! We are always trying snacks all around Disney so that you can make the best decisions about what is worth your time and money on your Disney vacation. Disney Springs And we recently stopped by Disney Springs to try a $25 sundae! Yes, you heard us right, $25 for an ice cream sundae, so let’s see if it was worth it. We just stopped at the Ghirardelli Soda Fountain & Chocolate Shop and tried the Cookie Crumble Hot Fudge Sundae for $25.50. Obviously, this is a very expensive sundae, but given the size, it could definitely be shared between two or three people! This was an extremely sweet treat, and the chocolate chip cookies crumbled on top were soft and buttery, which really made the flavor stand out. Cookie Crumble Hot Fudge Sundae The vanilla flavor was really good, but this treat is packed with chocolate, so if you’re expecting the vanilla ice cream to be the dominant flavor, that’s not what you get with this one. The chocolate chips give the ice cream a nice crunch, but they’re not overpowering. And the hot fudge on top is super rich and decadent. Lots of chocolate! This is definitely something to share given the price and size, but if you’re a chocolate lover, it’s definitely worth a try! However, if you’re looking for a treat to eat by yourself or don’t love ultra-sweet desserts, we’d recommend trying something else. While the savings might seem small at first, they can really add up and save you money on your trip. view ON Sam’s club BYOS (Bring Your Own Snacks) This is especially true if you have kids; sometimes, they will stay hungry all day long. Instead of constantly spending money on Disney snacks (even Disney Goldfish), save money by bringing in your own snacks. ©Amazon We love these Whiskware Stackable Containers for the parks. They don’t take up a lot of room in our park bag, and we can pack 3 different snacks in each one. These are great to keep our snacks organized, and they make it easy to have snacks on hand while we’re waiting in line for rides. view ON amazon Refillable Water Bottle If you want to spend over $4 on a bottle of water, multiple times a day, to stay hydrated at Disney, no one is going to stop you. However, if you want to save money, bring your own refillable water bottle. Little Mermaid Owala One of our favorite refillable bottles to bring to Disney World is the Owala Disney Princess Bottle. We love how slim it is, making it easy to store in park bags. It keeps our water cold for hours, and we love that the mouthpiece is covered, which means less chance of germs getting us sick on vacation. view ON amazon Eating Breakfast in Your Room If you enjoy rope dropping and want to get to the parks first thing in the morning, my biggest tip is to do a grab-and-go breakfast from your hotel room. Whether you bring your own groceries with you or use Amazon Fresh to have them delivered directly to your hotel room, having items like cereal, protein bars, fruit, yogurt, and more in your hotel can save you a lot of time and money, even compared to doing a quick service breakfast. Get snacks and drinks delivered! view ON amazon Splitting Quick Service Meals Sometimes, between all the snacks you’ve eaten and the heat of the day, you might not be hungry enough for your own quick service meal. Several restaurants offer large portions that you can split between two people. For example, Flame Tree Barbecue in Disney’s Animal Kingdom has large platters. Ribs, Chicken, and Pulled Pork Sampler (adult) What Does Not Save You Money: Using the Disney Dining Plan Alright, this one might be controversial, but for the Dining Plan to be “worth it,” you really need to focus on maximizing your credits. This means going to restaurants with more expensive meals, ordering higher-priced items, and more. Honestly, to me, I’m exhausted even trying to think about that while on vacation. It could save you money if you know you’ll maximize the credits and stick to what you are allotted each day. However, if you don’t typically order a drink with your meal or are still having to purchase another meal each day, then the math won’t work. Columbia Harbour House Snacking Over Meals If you think that buying a few snacks will save you money instead of ordering a quick-service meal, you’re likely wrong. Some snacks can be $7 to $9, and it could take a few to fill you up the way a meal could. Now, if you just want to snack instead of doing one meal, totally go for it! But you shouldn’t do it thinking it’s going to save you money. Pizza Planet Spring Rolls Staying Off Property Another slightly controversial one: staying off property might not be saving you as much as you think. By the time you pay for parking and resort fees, you could probably have stayed at a value resort for the same price. Then add in the cost of outside transportation to get to the parks, whether that’s paying for parking every day at the parks, using a rideshare, or renting a car; it can add up quickly. All-Star Sports Skipping Midday Breaks If you are trying to do it all from rope drop to fireworks, without a break, you might regret it. While guests might think they are maximizing the value of their park day, you could end up burnt out. No one wants to be cranky at Disney. A break also doesn’t have to mean leaving the parks; you can find a nice shaded area to relax, see a show, or just grab a sit-down lunch to cool off.
