If you’re visiting Disney World during hurricane season, you’ll need to prepare for your trip a little differently than if you were visiting any other time of the year. Cinderella Castle during Hurricane Helene That’s because hurricanes can impact your vacation. It means you could be dealing with heavy rain when you’re visiting the parks, rides closing due to the weather, and the outright closure of the parks. That’s why you need to know about Disney World’s hurricane cancellation policy, so you can change your plans if a hurricane might upend them. Hurricane season runs from June 1st through November 30th. If you’re visiting Disney World during that time, here’s the official hurricane cancellation policy you need to know about. The Disney World Hurricane Policy FAQ page reads, “If a hurricane warning is issued by the National Hurricane Center for the Orlando area—or for your place of residence—within 7 days of your scheduled arrival date, you may reschedule or cancel your Walt Disney Travel Company Disney Resort hotel packages and most room only reservations (booked directly with Disney) without any cancellation or change fees imposed by Disney. Most room-only and vacation packages can be modified, or cancelled online, including changes to travel dates.” ©Disney The important thing to remember here is at the beginning of the policy. This cancellation policy is ONLY in effect if a hurricane warning is issued for the Orlando area or for where you live. The policy does not include tropical storm warnings, so keep that in mind. Magic Kingdom entrance the day after Hurricane Milton If you booked any part of your Disney World vacation through a third party, Disney is not responsible for refunds. Instead, you should contact the third party and find out what their cancellation policy is. ©Disney If you used a special rate or discount to book your trip, it may not be available to you if you reschedule your trip. However, Cast Members will work with you to try to find alternate offers. Everything you have already paid for, such as rooms, park tickets, dining plans, and other Disney products and services, can be applied to your new reservation. However, if there is a price difference between your original trip and your new trip, you’ll have to pay it. ©Disney Normally, Disney World tickets are nontransferable and nonrefundable, so you cannot cancel a ticket or package or get a refund for it. However, you may be able to change the date of your unused tickets. However, if a hurricane warning has been issued by the National Hurricane Center for the Orlando area or where you live within seven days of your scheduled arrival date, you may be able to reschedule your tickets or vacation packages. ©Disney Note that you can often use unexpired tickets for a future date as long as the first date of the ticket hasn’t been used. You may be able to change the date on an unused ticket on the Disney World website. The amount paid for an unused, expired ticket can be applied to purchase a new ticket at the current price as long as the new ticket purchase price is equal to or greater than what you paid for the original ticket. Disney World Theme Park Tickets The hurricane policy doesn’t apply to rooms or packages for groups and special events. You’ll need to call your event manager if you’ve booked a trip that way. ©Disney Disney also does not guarantee that you’ll get the same or similar accommodations if you change your trip due to a hurricane warning. ©Disney What about canceling dining reservations? Well, each Disney World restaurant has its own cancellation policy, and the policy for canceling dining can vary during a hurricane. Most restaurants will allow you to cancel your reservation up to two hours in advance by either canceling online or by calling (407) 824-1391. Dessert Trio at Be Our Guest However, some restaurants don’t allow changes or cancellations once they’re confirmed. That includes: Cinderella’s Royal Table Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Review Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Parties: Pre-Party Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Parties: Post-Party Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Parties: Seats & Sweets Ferrytale Fireworks: A Sparkling Dessert Cruise Rose & Crown Fireworks Dining Package Spice Road Table Fireworks Dining Package Celebration at the Top – Sip, Savor, Sparkle Top of the World Lounge – multiple products Hoop-De-Doo Musical Revue There are also some Disney World restaurants that require you to cancel much earlier than two hours, and you’ll face higher fees if you don’t heed that. Note that these restaurants MIGHT change their policies during a hurricane, but you need to know about them regardless: ©Disney We did see Disney announce that it would not enforce dining reservation cancellation policies during Hurricane Ian in 2022. So this could happen if a hurricane warning has been issued. Note that this isn’t’ something that will happen automatically, though. If you have dining reservations you need to change or cancel due to a hurricane, you need to call Disney at (407) 939-7675 and speak with a Cast Member. They’ll let you know what the policy is and what your options are. Visitors leaving Magic Kingdom and EPCOT at the Transportation and Ticket Center during a hurricane We have seen Disney issue statements for Evacuees and First Responders Support, Travel Flexibility, and Storm Recovery, though, as was the case with Hurricane Idalia in 2023. The company offered 50% off Disney hotel stays for Florida residents evacuating from the storm and first responders assisting with storm-related recovery efforts from August 29th-31st, 2023. Cast Members prepping for Hurricanes Disney also made a statement regarding travel flexibility, waiving all change and cancellation fees for check-in dates of August 28th through September 4th, 2023. Guests who were already staying in Disney hotels whose plans had been impacted by the storm were offered a discounted rate to extend their stay through August 31st. Disney World closed due to Hurricane Milton in 2024 Disney will generally make statements like this if a storm is approaching or a hurricane warning has been issued for the Orlando area. You’ll want to make sure you keep an eye out for these announcements (although we’ll do our best to keep you updated, too). May 26th is a big day across Walt Disney World, but especially over at Hollywood Studios! Both Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets and the new Walt Disney Studios are opening up. The Walt Disney Studios Courtyard And despite the opening day not being until next week, it looks like the new Walt Disney Studios Courtyard is open early! While the Walt Disney Studios building is not yet open to guests, the courtyard has opened today! While you can’t get access to the main building yet, the Courtyard itself is so cool and full of amazing easter eggs, such as this music note sign based on an actual sign you can see at the Burbank animation studio in California. We love this There are also some really fun hidden characters, like Lucifer. Lucifer Or Zazu, hiding around the Courtyard. Zazu You can also see lots of handprints from your favorite characters like Quasimodo! Handprints all over! This area being open also gives guests access to the new show Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! This show is making its Hollywood Studios debut, but it is already a fan-favorite show in Disneyland, where you get to sing and dance with Mickey and all his friends. Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! at Disneyland And we cannot wait to experience it in Disney World next week. However, today, we saw guests going into the theater! Which means that the show is officially in soft opening, meaning that they are letting in small groups of guests before the official opening to test out the show with a crowd and work out any issues before everyone comes to see it on opening day. Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! at Disneyland Since it is in soft opening, we cannot guarantee when or if any shows will happen. But if you’re in Hollywood Studios over the next few days and you really want to see this show, it’s worth a shot to head over to the upcoming Walt Disney Studios to see if any soft opening shows are happening while you are there. We know that dining at Disney World can be expensive — that’s why knowing what is worth your money before you eat there is important. Coral Reef Restaurant The DFB team has eaten at every restaurant across Disney World. We have seen (and tasted) the good and the bad. Now, we’re sharing some of the most disappointing and frustrating dining experiences we’ve had in the parks and resorts. The good news? We’ve got better alternatives for every single one, so you don’t have to learn these lessons the hard way. Let’s get into it. Oga’s Cantina Oga’s Cantina in Galaxy’s Edge LOOKS amazing. You’re stepping into a Star Wars scene, DJ-R3X is spinning tracks, and it feels like an intergalactic party. Oga’s Cantina But the reality is that it’s cramped, loud, and wildly overpriced for a charcuterie board for $24. You’ll probably be standing elbow-to-elbow with strangers, chugging a $17 pre-made cocktail with numb-lip foam before your 45-minute time limit runs out. Don’t get us wrong, this place can be really fun, and we think it’s good to do at least once, but there are more chill spots to snag a drink in the parks. If you’re a Star Wars fan who is just looking to grab a cocktail and take in the vibes, this is great. Oga’s Cantina What to do instead: Head to BaseLine Tap House (also in Hollywood Studios) for a laid-back vibe, better snacks, and actual seating. Or, if you’re up for table service, hit up Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge for quality bites and classic cocktails. Coral Reef Restaurant This one hurts to say, because we really, really want to like it. Coral Reef Restaurant at EPCOT has stunning aquarium views, but the food just doesn’t live up to the ambiance. Also, there might be something a little weird about eating fish… while staring at fish. The windows are pretty iconic! It’s hit or miss (emphasis on the miss), and with EPCOT offering so many better options, this one’s tough to justify unless you’ve got kids who are mesmerized by sea turtles. What to do instead: Want seafood? Go to The Boathouse in Disney Springs. Want something that’ll still entertain the kiddos? Try Teppan Edo in the Japan Pavilion — dinner and a show, with hibachi chefs that’ll win over any picky eater. Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe Pecos Bill used to be a reliable, fun, quick-service spot with a LEGENDARY toppings bar. But those good old days are gone. Now? The toppings bar is a sad memory, the menu is lackluster, and the food just doesn’t wow. If you’re desperate and on a budget, it’ll fill you up. But otherwise, you’ll want to move right along. Double Barbecue Bacon Cheeseburger What to do instead: Go to Skipper Canteen if you want something adventurous and different. Or, for better quick service, Columbia Harbour House once again comes in clutch. Bonus: It’s usually easier to find a quiet table upstairs away from the crowds. Maya Grill This one’s not a total disaster, but it’s the definition of forgettable. Maya Grill at Coronado Springs serves up decent fajitas and empanadas, but you’ll probably leave thinking, “I’ve had better at home.” If you’re staying at the resort and need something convenient, it’ll do. Otherwise? Not worth the detour. Maya Grill at Disney World What to do instead: Want margaritas and Mexican food that’ll blow you away? Head to La Cava del Tequila in EPCOT or Rosa Mexicano at Disney World’s Swan and Dolphin Resort. Turf Club Lounge This one bums us out because it could be great. It’s got a pool table, drinks, and a few appetizers. But it just feels like a half-hearted sports bar at your uncle’s country club. You won’t find a lot of Disney magic here, and unless you’re staying at Saratoga Springs and really want to avoid transportation, you can skip it. Turf Club Lounge What to do instead: Pretty much any other lounge on property. Seriously. Try Geyser Point at Wilderness Lodge for lakeside views, great drinks, and legit food. Or Three Bridges Bar and Grill at Coronado Springs for tapas and cocktails with major ambiance. A brand new area is coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios: get ready to step into The Walt Disney Studios when it officially opens in phases starting May 26th, 2026! Walt Disney Studios is now open! Animation Courtyard has been reimagined into The Walt Disney Studios as a special nod to the legendary Walt Disney Studios Lot in Burbank, California. But here, Disney Animation characters will leap off the screen and into our world. Ahead of the new land’s official opening, we got a FIRST LOOK inside! When we stopped by, the new Walt Disney Studios land was open to visitors, though parts of it are still opening in phases. The new land will retain two of Animation Courtyard’s signature attractions while introducing brand-new experiences inspired by beloved Disney characters, as well as the “Once Upon a Studio” short film! It’s SO pretty! The building that was home to Star Wars: Launch Bay will be turning into “The Magic of Disney Animation,” which is inspired by Walt Disney Animation Studios and the Roy E. Disney Animation Building. Sorcerer’s Hat is back! Just like its namesake building, The Magic of Disney Animation features Mickey’s famous Sorcerer Hat on top (which serves as a double nod to the Sorcerer’s Hat that used to stand in front of the Chinese Theater in the park). Disney says it will “cast a spell with pixie dust.” There are SO many nods to the Burbank lot, including this directional sign. We love this Additionally, one of the most iconic features of Hollywood Studios is the handprints in front of the Chinese Theatre, featuring a variety of celebrities and Hollywood icons. Now, Disney Imagineers are bringing that same magic to the Walt Disney Studios Courtyard…but this time with Disney characters! Handprints all over! The courtyard, which will open on May 26, 2026, will provide a place filled with lush trees for all guests to relax and even play (and, if you’re like us here at the DFB, enjoy a classic Hollywood Studios snack!). Of course, there will be a store in this area as well — the Studio Store — complete with Abu hanging out on the sign! ©Disney Speaking of which, make sure you keep an eye out for all the Disney characters throughout, like Lucifer… Lucifer …Zazu… Zazu …and don’t forget the iconic Pluto’s Corner! Disney teased that “you never know who you might see playing in the branches, soaking up the sun, or digging in the grass.” Pluto’s Corner! Disney characters will play a major part in the experience! Specifically, Disney has mentioned, “Off the Page.” The concept is that guests will meet beloved Disney characters across “six unique departments from the animation studio.” They are as follows: Mulan in Story Rapunzel in Layout (in “a setting inspired by the classic multiplane camera”) Chip n’ Dale in Hand-Drawn Animation Donald and Daisy in CG Animation Goofy in Lighting Stitch in Effects You can find everything you need to know about the NEW Walt Disney Studios land right here! Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run at Hollywood Studios is getting some major upgrades on May 22nd. The ride will get multiple new destinations inspired by classic Star Wars films and the brand-new The Mandalorian & Grogu movie! Tattooine We thought the role of an engineer was pretty boring – you just sit there and press a few buttons; it’s nowhere near as immersive as pilot or gunner. We just rode the new version of Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run early, and now we can say the engineer role is our new favorite spot! In this new version of the ride, you join Hondo to smuggle some cargo when it turns out that The Mandalorian and Grogu need our help! You’ll go on a bounty hunt with the duo to catch a bounty target – you can track down an imperial officer or a pirate, and they’re all on Tatooine together. Once you get to Tatooine, they split up and start flying in different directions. The engineer shoots homing signals on them, and you can tell where they’re headed. We have to help them on their bounty hunt! In this new version, the right engineer can pick the location your group goes to! One imperial soldier is headed to Coruscant, the second imperial soldier is going to Bespin, and the pirate visits the Death Star wreckage. The engineer gets to choose which bounty to follow, and that’s what determines which mission you go on! Coruscant Grogu is there the whole time, whether he’s scared of the fighting or holding hands with Mando, and you can communicate with Grogu the entire ride. But in typical Baby Yoda fashion, he’s hitting random buttons, and it’s your job to fix it! The role is now part fixer, part babysitter, and we loved how fresh it made the engineer. Grogu is right next to the engineer! The engineer role is our new favorite on Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. Now that we’ve experienced the new version, we think the gunner role is the least interesting; the engineer has become just as immersive as the pilot, while the gunner hasn’t received any upgrades. Coral Reef Restaurant Disney is currently hosting V.I.PASSHOLDER Summer Days, running from May through July. As part of that offering, there are limited-time perks available to Passholders, including a BONUS dining discount at select restaurants! Three EPCOT restaurants are included in this promotion. Biergarten Restaurant Biergarten Restaurant in the Germany Pavilion is the first of the three! This spot offers a German-inspired buffet meal with live music for entertainment. From Mondays through Thursdays, May 1st-July 31st, you can save 40% at Biergarten for lunch only, as long as you bring your Annual Pass. Biergarten Restaurant This restaurant is often considered a bit of a sleeper hit, with some incredibly die-hard fans. Coral Reef Restaurant In the World Nature section of the park, you’ll find Coral Reef on the backside of The Seas. This restaurant is known for its massive aquarium windows, allowing you to watch the fish and marine life swim by while you dine. The menu primarily focuses on seafood, which is, honestly, a little ironic. The windows are pretty iconic! Mondays through Thursdays from May through July 2026, you’ll be able to get 40% off at Coral Reef with your Annual Pass. This discount is only applicable for dinnertime. This spot is upstairs in The Land Pavilion, and it’s unique because the restaurant rotates while you dine! As your meal progresses, you’ll slowly spin, looking through various scenes of Living with the Land below. Also, this is a character meal with Mickey, Pluto, Chip, and Dale, and some of the food served here is grown directly in The Land Pavilion. Garden Grill The rules for the 40% discount are the same here as the other two spots, except here, you can save on lunch AND dinner. It’s valid Monday-Thursday from May 1st-July 31st, 2026. Who’s ready to go to SPACE with us?! Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run in Disney’s Hollywood Studios is receiving some changes in honor of the new Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu movie. The updates hit the ride on May 22nd, and we got the chance to preview the attraction early. Let’s check it out! Luckily, every seat does get a view of Grogu, but it’s the engineer who gets to interact with him the most. HE’S SO CUTE There’s also a VERY cute moment at the end when the Mandalorian says, “Okay, goodbye,” and Hondo responds with a goodbye — to which Mando says, “Not you, Hondo, the Kid.” Grogu then makes iconic Baby Yoda noises, and it’s just a really sweet moment. On May 22, the same day Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu arrives in theaters and IMAX nationwide, guests at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort will find a new reason to return to the cockpit of the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy. Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run is being updated at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at both resorts to include a brand-new mission featuring Din Djarin and Grogu — along with new technology that lets flight crews choose which adventure they’ll take. The update reflects Disney’s approach to storytelling across mediums, from the big screen to immersive, real-world experiences. As Asa Kalama, Executive, Creative & Interactive Experiences at Walt Disney Imagineering, explained, the attraction’s evolution is rooted in close collaboration with Lucasfilm, major advances in real-time technology, and a creative philosophy that traces back to Walt Disney himself. Visitors to Batuu may find the Mandalorian and Grogu inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Collaborating With Lucasfilm to Extend the Story From the outset, the goal was to expand the film’s world in a way only a theme park attraction can. “As we think about developing experiences for the parks, we like to find opportunities to not just retell the exact same story that you might have seen on screen, but use this as an opportunity to extend that story,” Kalama said. “It’s an inherently unique medium. It’s the physical world. And so we try to lean into the things that it does best.” Conversations on how to achieve that began early, with Imagineers sitting down with The Mandalorian and Grogu director Jon Favreau and Lucasfilm President and Chief Creative Officer Dave Filoni to hash out ideas. “Before we got into any real technical development or detailed experiential design, we spent a lot of time just talking through story,” Kalama noted, describing discussions around iconic locations, character relationships, and how Hondo Ohnaka frames the adventure within Galaxy’s Edge. The result is a mission that feels connected to the film while still standing on its own. Guests aren’t replaying what they just saw on the big screen — they’re stepping into a complementary adventure. “We had to do all this really fun, narrative work to understand how all these things connect, and how they all feel like they’re a part of one broad cohesive story, and that the adventures that you’re having in park could conceivably be things that are happening… just off camera from the film,” Kalama said. That alignment is especially meaningful because the attraction update and the film debut happen day and date. “For the first time ever, we’re allowing people… the opportunity to on the same day, go to the movie… and then later come down to the park and actually go on an adventure ride alongside them,” Kalama said. Inside Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Technology That Puts Choice in the Pilot’s Seat Behind the scenes, the new mission required a significant technological leap. The attraction’s core systems have been upgraded to support richer visuals, more complex environments, and — most notably — guest choice. “This latest mission, we upgraded the core technology that powers the attraction from Unreal Engine 4 to Unreal Engine 5,” Kalama explained. “Along with all new compute hardware and graphics cards, the latest and greatest from Nvidia that really allow us to push the limits of what we could do in terms of visual fidelity.” Those upgrades made it possible to rethink how the adventure unfolds beyond what was originally a largely linear path. “It was really important for us… to really increase the amount of variability, and sense of true control and agency that our flight crews have,” Kalama said. Guests can now choose between multiple planetary destinations, with branching paths and different outcomes within each one. That choice comes with real engineering challenges. Because the visuals are rendered in real time and at extremely high quality, the system can’t load everything at once. “We’re actually constantly streaming the next set of environments that you’re going to be navigating through,” Kalama said. Introducing planetary selection meant the team had to preload entirely different worlds — Coruscant, Bespin, or Endor — on the fly, in a way that’s seamless to guests but “incredibly complicated on the technology side,” Kalama noted. The payoff is an attraction designed for repeat rides, where no two missions feel exactly the same. “The hope is you get off the attraction, and you’re sharing with your friends the adventure that you had, and maybe the things that you’re describing are different from the adventure that they went on,” Kalama said. “Which… is just another exciting reason to go back and re-ride.” Walt Disney’s Flywheel, Brought to Life Kalama often points back to a decades-old sketch by Walt Disney — a drawing that mapped how films, theme parks, and other parts of the business feed one another creatively. That “flywheel” is more than a historical artifact; it’s an active blueprint. “To this day, I think we still take that framework of how to connect stories really to heart, and continue to be the only company that… consistently actually delivers against that vision,” Kalama said. The update to Smugglers Run is a modern example of that philosophy in action. Characters and stories move fluidly between screen and park, sometimes in both directions. Kalama pointed to innovations like the BDX droids as evidence of that circular exchange, noting, “Disney is at its best when we can be creating amazing characters and stories really in any format and then translate it into another.” At its core, the attraction is about empowering guests to live their own story. “We’ve always thought of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge as a place to come and live your own Star Wars adventure,” Kalama said. The new mission leans into that idea by giving guests meaningful choices and memories that feel personal. “The hope is by making it so that every ride feels different, the story that you bring home is not a retelling of the story that we wanted you to hear, but a recounting of the story that you had to create with your family and friends,” he added. The EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival is one of those Disney World events that sounds simple on paper. You walk around EPCOT. You eat little plates of food. You sip things. You nod like a serious culinary scholar while holding a tiny fork and standing next to a trash can. It’s culture. It’s Time for the Food & Wine Festival! But here’s the thing: Food & Wine can either feel like a glorious global snack crawl or a very expensive cardio experiment with more lines than your average DMV. The difference usually comes down to how well you use the perks, benefits, and sneaky little savings opportunities already available to you. The 2026 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival runs from August 27th through November 21st, and Disney has confirmed that the festival itself is included with valid EPCOT admission, though food and drinks cost extra. The 2025 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival So, before you start making your “I’m only buying three things” budget, which we all know will become “somehow I bought seven things and a commemorative cup,” let’s talk about the perks that can seriously change the way you do Food & Wine. 1. The Festival Is Included With EPCOT Admission This one sounds obvious until you remember Disney is very good at charging separately for things that make your wallet whimper softly into an empty plastic cheese cup. The EPCOT Food & Wine Festival is NOT a separately ticketed event. You need valid EPCOT admission, but once you’re inside the park, the atmosphere, festival decor, entertainment, and general “I am strolling through a delicious postcard” energy are part of the experience. Eat to the Beat Concert Series Now, let’s be very clear before someone tries to sue us with a receipt from Belgium: the food and drinks are not included. You will still pay for that snack-sized filet, that frozen cocktail, that little dish you swear is going to be “enough for lunch” until you inhale it in four bites. But the festival overlay itself? Included. The steak! You can listen to live music, wander World Showcase, browse the festival booths, check out menus, enjoy the seasonal energy, and make a full EPCOT day feel like something special without buying a party ticket or separate event admission. For Disney World, that is practically finding a twenty in last year’s park bag. 2. Overlapping Discounts Can Make the Timing Way Better Food & Wine season overlaps with some potentially useful Disney World discount windows, and this is where things get interesting. There is a late summer and early fall room offer for select Disney Resorts Collection hotels, with savings up to 30% for most nights from July 30th through August 13th and August 28th through October 3rd, 2026, with lower savings available during some dates and for shorter stays. That means the opening stretch of Food & Wine overlaps with a hotel discount window. Disney’s Beach Club Resort Annual Passholders also have a late summer and early fall room offer with savings up to 40% at select Disney Resorts Collection hotels for most arrivals from July 30th through October 3rd, 2026. And yes, we need to talk about dining. Disney also has a FREE Dining Plan for Kids ages 3 to 9 in 2026, which applies when you purchase an eligible Walt Disney Travel Company package that includes a Disney Resorts Collection hotel room and a dining plan for Guests ages 10 and up. Kids Meal There was also a bigger free dining offer for select 2026 vacation packages that overlapped with part of Food & Wine season, but that booking window required guests to book by April 30th, 2026. So if you already snagged it, congratulations, please accept this imaginary tiny trophy made of pretzel bread. If not, this is your reminder to keep watching Disney discounts like a raccoon guarding a popcorn bucket. Port Orleans — French Quarter The takeaway? Food & Wine is already a tempting time to visit, but if you can line it up with a hotel deal, a Passholder discount, a kids dining offer, or a package you already booked, the math gets much friendlier. Not free, exactly. But friendlier. Disney math is still wearing a monocle. Disney Just Dropped 6 NEW Discounts for 2026, and You Need To Listen Up! 3. Early Theme Park Entry Lets You Clear the Ride Deck First Here’s the thing about Food & Wine: the booths typically don’t open until around 11AM. That can make the morning feel like dead space if your only plan is “eat around the world until I become structurally dependent on cheese.” But if you’re staying at a Disney Resort hotel, Early Theme Park Entry can completely change the rhythm of your EPCOT day. Disney Resort hotel Guests get 30-minute early entry at all four Walt Disney World theme parks, including EPCOT, and Disney says this benefit will continue through 2027. Early Entry at EPCOT Is 30 minutes going to magically let you ride every attraction in EPCOT, exchange fashion tips with Minnie, and solve global diplomacy before breakfast? No. But it can give you a head start on your biggest must-dos. Knock out something like Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, Frozen Ever After, or another priority attraction early, and suddenly you are not trying to juggle ride waits, lunch hunger, heat, and booth lines all at once. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure That’s the real perk here. You use the morning for rides. Then, when the booths open, you are ready to pivot into snack goblin mode with dignity. Or at least with a plan. Food & Wine is at its best when you are not sprinting from attraction to attraction with a tray of pierogies and one remaining shred of patience. I’ve Tried Every Early Entry Hack in Disney World, And I’m Sharing the 3 That Work Every Time 4. Disney Transportation Is the Responsible MVP Food & Wine is, famously, a festival with wine in the name. It also has beer, cocktails, flights, sips, pairings, and enough “just one more” energy to make your festival budget disappear into the lagoon fog. French Cosmo So one of the most underrated perks of doing Food & Wine at Disney World is the transportation network. All Guests have complimentary access to its network of monorails, buses, boats, and Disney Skyliner. That is a big deal. Bus station at EPCOT If you are staying at a Disney Resort hotel, you can use Disney transportation to get back to your resort without having to drive after drinking. If you are staying at an EPCOT-area resort, you may even be able to walk or boat back. If you are staying at a Skyliner resort, you can glide back like a well-fed little space capsule with opinions about fondue. Now, this is not permission to make questionable choices and blame the Riesling. Be smart. Hydrate. Eat real food. Know your limits. Do not become the person loudly explaining the entire plot of Ratatouille to a shrub in France. International Gateway Friendship Boat But having complimentary Disney transportation available is a major planning perk, especially for adults who want to sample festival drinks responsibly. It’s Official. This Is the FANCIEST Disney Transportation EVER. 5. The Gift Card Trick Feels Like a Perk This is where we enter the gray area of Disney planning, where something is not technically a Disney perk but absolutely behaves like one if you use it correctly. Recent EPCOT festival booths have been shifting toward cashless operations, so guests should be prepared with a credit card, debit card, mobile payment, or Disney Gift Card. We learned that 2026 EPCOT Flower & Garden Outdoor Kitchen booths were cashless, so we’d be watching for similar procedures at Food & Wine. But don’t panic. This isn’t bad news. A Disney Gift Card can be a clutch little festival tool. Cashless snack cart First, it helps you budget. Load the amount you actually want to spend on festival food and drinks, then use that as your grazing bank. When it’s gone, that’s your cue to stop buying small plates unless something truly spectacular appears and demands financial respect. Gift card wristlet Second, you may be able to save money before you even get to Disney World. Disney Gift Cards are redeemable at participating locations at Walt Disney World Resort, and retailers like Target, Sam’s Club, and others often sell Disney Gift Cards with some kind of discount or savings opportunity. Sam’s Club sometimes has discounted gift cards as well. Is this glamorous? No. Is it thrilling to save a few dollars before buying festival snacks? Weirdly, yes. A discounted Disney Gift Card turns into festival money with a tiny built-in rebate. That is the sort of quiet victory we respect around here. Score MAJOR Savings on Disney Gift Cards at Sam’s Club Right Now 6. Dining Plan Snack Credits Can Be Festival Gold If you are using a Disney Dining Plan during Food & Wine, pay attention to eligible snack items. Disney’s 2026 dining plans include one snack or nonalcoholic drink per night of stay, and meals and snacks can be redeemed throughout the trip before expiring at midnight on the day of checkout. Historically, many EPCOT festival food items have been snack-credit eligible, though you always need to check the current festival menus and look for the dining plan symbol once Disney releases full 2026 festival details. The menu! This is where Food & Wine can become a very satisfying use of snack credits. Instead of burning a snack credit on something basic, you may be able to use it on a festival dish that feels more interesting, more filling, or just more vacation-y. A snack credit used on a bottled drink? Allowed, but not advisable. A snack credit used on a festival plate you were already planning to buy? Much better. That is the kind of dining plan gymnastics we can get behind. Mexico Booth at Food & Wine Festival 2025 Just remember that alcohol is not a snack credit, and not everything will qualify. Disney keeps us humble that way. 7. The Entertainment Gives You More to Do Between Bites The food booths get most of the attention because, well, snacks are persuasive. We’ve got MASSIVE news out of Disneyland Resort. It’s news we’ve been waiting on for literally YEARS, and now it’s finally time. Disneyland Ever since the parks reopened after the 2020 closures, there have been restrictions on when guests have been allowed to park hop between Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. Finally, after 5+ years, those restrictions are FINALLY going away! On the Disney Travel Agent website, it’s now been posted that, “Beginning June 9th, 2026, Disneyland Resort guests with Park Hopper tickets and Magic Key passes will be able to cross between parks without having to wait until 11 AM, subject to availability of the applicable park.” DCA Entrance Now, it’s important to note that guests will still need to make a park pass reservation and indicate which park they plan on starting in, so Disney can get an idea of how many people will be in each park at the start of the day. However, this rule going away will allow a lot more flexibility for those looking to experience both parks in one day. Especially for locals who may want to spend some time in the parks on a whim! Join Din Djarin, the mysterious Mandalorian bounty hunter, and his youngling Grogu as they track down elusive ex-Imperial officers throughout the galaxy. For a limited time, celebrate the release of the film by catching Grogu as he tests his power to recall fond memories of his adventures with The Mandalorian in “The Curious Child” playing after “Shadows of Memory: A Skywalker Saga.” These nightly stunning projection effects transform the spires of Batuu near the Millennium Falcon, taking you on a storytelling adventure across the galaxy. In Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu, you may spot some familiar droids making their feature film debut. Beginning May 22, BDX droids will return to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland park, finding a home at Black Spire Station and making appearances in a whole new way. Playful and curious, these droids-in-training are learning on the job, taking on new challenges, and having a bit of fun as they team up and show off their unique and lovable personalities. Interested in learning more about the Force? For a limited time beginning May 22, young guests and their families visiting Black Spire Outpost are invited to Savi’s Workshop for a complimentary experience in the ancient art of building a lightsaber with the Youngling Saber Building Expo – A Loth-Cat Crew Experience. During this youngling-oriented experience (recommended for visitors ages 3-9, who must be accompanied by an adult), kids and those who are kids at heart can enjoy the fun of participating in a lightsaber-building adventure and becoming the newest members of the Loth-Cat Crew as capacity allows daily. This offering is an interactive experience only, and a lightsaber is not included with participation. Visitors will have the option to purchase their lightsaber at the end of the experience. From the moment your crew is recruited by Hondo Ohnaka inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, your mission is clear: track down elusive bounties amid high-speed chaos and collect optional, yet valuable crates for Hondo. Whether you’re flying with friends, family, or fellow Star Wars fans, every role in the cockpit plays a key part in how your story unfolds. Now, with new updates to the attraction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disneyland park arriving May 22 alongside the debut of Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu in theaters, even more adventures await, including the chance to journey deeper into the galaxy next to Mando and Grogu. Aiming to pilot the iconic ship, fend off enemy TIE fighters, or choose your next planetary destination on your next flight? Keep reading to find out how to make the most of every role, every mission, and every run aboard the Millennium Falcon. A boost button is located nearby to speed past danger when needed. Right pilots control the vertical movement of the shop, pushing forward to go down and pulling back to go up. Additionally, be ready to make the jump to hyperspace at a moment’s notice with the thrusters located to your left side. If you and your co-pilot have ever dreamed of stepping into Han and Chewie’s roles in the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon, the pilot position may be for you. Each mission relies on two pilots working together to steer the Millennium Falcon through danger, dodging obstacles, evading speedy TIE fighters, and keeping the ship intact as you track down your bounty. While you share the same goal, each pilot plays a distinct role in how the mission unfolds, as flying steady sets up your gunners and engineers for continued success throughout your flight. Left Pilot The left pilot is in charge of the ship’s side to side movement (left to right). This will be key as you hope to maintain a smooth flight path and as your gunners prepare to line up with incoming targets, with a boost button nearby to accelerate past looming danger. Many walls, towers, canyon obstacles, and ships can cause damage to the Falcon and cause your credits to drop, so smooth steering is very important to complete your mission. Right Pilot Meanwhile, the right pilot controls the vertical (up and down) movement of the ship, pushing forward to go down and pulling back to go up. Here, pilots are trusted to raise and lower the Falcon, avoid the ground and incoming obstacles, and of course, make the jump to hyperspace. But don’t get too cocky: quick reactions and sharp reflexes are important to succeed in this role, and precise timing can make all the difference. While it may feel like you’re in complete control, success takes coordination, communication, and a steady hand. After all, traveling through hyperspace is a little more complicated than dusting crops in this galaxy. Gunners: Defend the Millennium Falcon and Increase the Crew’s Score Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run: Quick Tips for Gunners For first-time crew members, automatic mode lends itself to an easier experience. For seasoned smugglers, choose manual mode for a rush of fast-paced competition. If playing in automatic mode, make sure to keep pressing your primary button to fire in bursts of five on enemy ships. If playing in manual mode, use the three buttons to aim high, middle, and low. Throughout the mission, missiles will be available at select times that allow gunners to fire five simultaneous missiles that spiral to hit a nearby target, if timed correctly. As you prepare to track down your bounty and complete the instructions laid about by Hondo and Mando, your team’s gunner positions will likely be vital as you prepare to face danger along the way. Choosing Automatic or Manual Mode As you strap in your seatbelt and take your position, riders will be able to choose from an automatic mode or a manual mode by pressing buttons on the pad to your side. Once the Falcon takes to the skies and has its eyes set on Tatooine, each gunner will be responsible for targets on their half of the cockpit. In automatic mode, targets will be tracked automatically both horizontally and vertically by using one primary button throughout. This button fires the guns in bursts of five, so be sure to keep pressing and time your shots on incoming enemies. For young ones, first-timers, or less-experienced flyers, the automatic mode in this position may be more ideal to allow for auto-locking on targets. Meanwhile, in manual mode, targets will still be tracked automatically horizontally, but each gunner can select between a high, middle, or low targeting zone (using three different buttons) to fire on incoming enemy ships, all of which have been sent to stop your mission from being completed and returning safely to Batuu. For experienced flyers and those with a thirst for competition, consider the manual mode that allows for timely reactions and the potential for a higher score throughout your flight. Amid the chaos, keep in mind that Hondo is all about profit, and he wants the Falcon to be in near-perfect shape upon its return. Be sure to be as accurate as possible when shooting down any enemy TIE fighters; Hondo will certainly be displeased if the Falcon is beat up upon your return to Docking Bay 5. Engineers: Collect Cargo, Call Grogu, and Choose Your Next Destination on Board the Millennium Falcon Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run: Quick Tips for Engineers On each mission, one randomized engineer on board will choose your crew’s next, brand-new flight destination following the chase on Tatooine: Bespin, Coruscant, or the wreckage of the second Death Star above Endor. The other engineer in your crew will launch homing beacons toward each of the bounty ships before taking off to your next destination. Search for shipments of precious cargo during your flight, using a tractor beam (with a masher button next to your seat) to reel in crates to the Falcon. Repair the ship as needed during the flight by hitting the glowing buttons, and call Grogu in the Razor Crest by clicking the call icon near your seat. In this new mission aboard the Millennium Falcon, engineers have a crucial role with expanded responsibilities. Positioned in the back row of the cockpit, the left and right engineers are responsible for tracking enemy ships, picking the planet destination, and earning credits for Hondo by collecting cargo. Plus, someone in your crew has to keep an eye on Grogu. Before taking off, Hondo was able to make a deal with the New Republic to deliver the coordinates of these bounties in exchange for any cargo that the crew may collect. As your crew of six follows Hondo’s precise coordinates to track three high-value bounties on Tatooine, you’ll cross paths with the Mandalorian and Grogu. Here, our bounties are attempting to complete a deal to trade illegal goods, and it’s your job to swipe these goods for Hondo while Mando focuses on capturing the bounties. From there, as your cover is blown and the mission suddenly shifts, the trio of bounties splits between three different locations and leaves your crew with a key decision. An Engineer’s Job is Never Done Eager for more in this position? Here’s a few other things that engineers will be able to do during their pursuit: Call Grogu: Looking for an ally to help out or curious to see what Grogu is up to during your mission? Click the button under the call icon to call Grogu in the Razor Crest. Repair the Ship: As the ship takes damage throughout your mission, you may see several buttons light up near you. To fix the ship as soon as possible to allow for a steady flight, help the rest of your crew out and hit the illuminated buttons quickly. Once your mission takes a turn on Tatooine, one of the engineers will be prompted to launch homing beacons toward each of the bounty ships, while the opposite engineer will be instructed to choose your crew’s next flight destination by following one of the three homing beacons. These meaningful decisions set up the fun to soon follow by determining which bounty your crew will immediately pursue, allowing engineers to have a direct impact on the overall outcome of the pursuit. Once you’ve jumped to your destination of choice, engineers will work together to grab up to six crates of valuable cargo (three max for the left, and three max for the right) from your bounty. When searching for the loot, an alert may sound and a masher button nearby will glow if potential shipments are in range. To secure the cargo, hit the button and watch as these valued possessions are brought toward the ship via the ship’s tractor beam. Keep reading to get a sneak peek at each of the three destinations below! Soar Through the Skies of Bespin As you arrive just outside of the iconic Cloud City, the chase through the skies of Bespin is on. Here, your crew will pursue an Imperial officer in their Zeta-class Shuttle, dodging freighters carrying large Tibanna gas cannisters and navigating around passing tug-ships through the skies. During this portion of the mission, gunners will be especially busy, with a horde of TIE fighters swarming the skies and with a highly destructible environment always surrounding the Falcon. All too easy? Think again. Bespin is pretty far from Tatooine, demanding focused coordination from your entire crew in order to make it out with the Falcon (and all of your well-deserved credits) still intact. Dodge TIE Fighters Amid City Lights on Coruscant Arriving above the bustling Uscru Entertainment District on Coruscant at night calls for intense teamwork to track down your prized possession. Surrounded by dense civilian traffic, your crew will attempt to hunt down an Imperial officer in a Sentinel Assault Shuttle, weaving through an illuminated skyline, ducking in and out of tunnels, and avoiding TIE fighter fire. As you fly through the city and the chase intensifies, engineers will be tasked with grabbing and collecting crates from the target ship while keeping the Falcon running smoothly under the glow of the city’s lights. This mission can take an unexpected turn, requiring your crew to reboot key systems and stay in sync with Mando and Grogu, so make sure to be alert and look out for any potential allies to help you safely return to Batuu. Escape the Wreckage of the Second Death Star Above Endor On the outskirts of a debris field surrounding the forest moon of Endor, the shattered remains of the second Death Star loom, with twisted metal and wreckage causing a dangerous path forward for your crew… and serving as a great hiding spot for a potential bounty on the loose. As you explore the remains of this once-armed battle station, you’ll look for the Transdoshan pirate hiding amongst the debris before the ship attempts to escape. Along the way, you’ll navigate past massive fragments (including parts of a fallen Star Destroyer) while avoiding collisions in this tight, cluttered environment. Skilled pilots will be necessary as you race through floating ship pieces on the chase for the bounty, creating your very own Trench Run. The action quickly escalates again as your crew may be called upon to rescue Mando and Grogu from a rogue tractor beam, thrusting the gunners back into the middle of the action as they’ll be tasked with deploying a well-timed torpedo to save your crew and the duo from impending doom. Complete Your Mission and See What’s Inside the Crates As the right pilot makes the jump to hyperspace and the ship safely touches down back on Batuu, your high-stakes mission comes to an end. Once you return, you’ll see that Mando and Grogu have secured one of their bounties, while your crew may have been skilled enough to return to Batuu with crates full of loot for Hondo. While the results begin to roll in, be sure to keep an eye out in the hangar bay to spot Mando and Grogu securing their latest prized possession from the pursuit, as carbonite gas spills out from the Razor Crest. Back inside the hangar, Hondo will tally your crew’s performance, calling out how many crates your team managed to successfully recover during the mission. Once Hondo unloads the crates, several surprises await inside. While some crews may discover a shipment of galactic credits, others may find a load of Kyber Crystals, or even baby Rancors. Each haul directly impacts your overall cabin score depending on what’s inside each crate, and each seat’s individual performance and skill is added up. The elusive Employee of the Month honor is saved for a select few who can secure the high score on the attraction: does your team of six have what it takes? No two runs are exactly the same on board the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy, making every flight a little different than the last. The chase for a higher score, a smoother flight, or another chance to punch the ship into hyperspace always gives me another reason to take on another job with Hondo, and I truly can’t wait to explore the galaxy alongside Mando and Grogu when the attraction debuts at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort on May 22, 2026. May 26th cannot come soon enough in Disney World. While there are tons of openings happening, for me, I only have my eyes on the prize: Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets. The penguins The newly rethemed roller coaster opens to the public on May 26th in Hollywood Studios, but previews have given us an early look at the attraction and have made all of my Muppet dreams come true. Before you ride, there’s something you should know: there’s a LOT. What’s there a lot of? Well, basically everything. The whole ride can be pretty overwhelming because there is SO much. We’re going to be talking about some specifics, so if you’re trying to avoid spoilers, look away! Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets There are so many hidden details on the attraction that it can be totally overwhelming. You’ll need to ride it quite a few times to catch all the details. As a Muppet enthusiast, I thought I’d recognize every single little reference instantly, but to be honest, there’s so much to take in, all while riding a new ride. G-Force Records Let’s start in the queue. You’ll need to check out all the different framed pictures on the walls. There are tons of Muppet characters represented, and it’s nice to see some of the more niche ones on the ride. Make sure to look closer at the details Then the preshow! Oh, the glorious preshow. It’s pretty short, so you’ll really want to take it all in. While you might be distracted by the Scooter animatronic on the left side, there are more details around the whole recording booth, both for Muppets and Aerosmith. There’s even some Muppet*Vision references (thank goodness). You’ll probably want to rewatch some Muppet movies and TV shows to try to catch all the references. It’s time to start the show! Once you’re through the preshow, you’re going to be hit with a ton of hidden details. You might be distracted by the ride vehicles zooming off in front of you, but don’t forget to look past the cars and to the left as you continue to the loading station. Climb in! There’s literally a whole caged area full of details. We didn’t have too much time standing here, but I just know there’s more to find. As you get closer to boarding, don’t forget to look to the left at the brick wall and door. So many Gonzo props Of course, on the ride, there are things to look at and at the unloading station, so keep your eyes peeled! We’re not sure how many rides it will take to catch all the details, but we need to collect every song on the tracklist, so we’re not mad to ride again and again. Let me just say, climbing into that limo, pulling down the harness, and being launched into a world of Muppets was seriously a dream come true. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets is opening in Hollywood Studios on May 26th, and previews are currently happening for Annual Passholders. Let’s ride Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster! During our first ride through, we were pretty blown away. Yes, we loved the Aerosmith version with all of our hearts, but can you imagine Hollywood Studios without The Muppets? No way! Now that it’s getting close to opening, we’re sharing what really surprised us during our ride. There might be a few spoilers up ahead, so read at your own risk! There are SO many Muppet easter eggs PizzeRizzo will always remain in my heart I highly recommend you brush up on your Muppet movies before heading to the ride if you want to catch all of the details. Of course, you can just enjoy the attraction, but there’s something about recognizing all the movie props that makes everything feel so special. There are lots of references to The Muppet Movie, which is also when Electric Mayhem shows off their true chaos, so it’s perfect. TONS of Muppet*Vision references So many Gonzo props In addition to the movies and TV shows, there are also some references to our beloved Muppet*Vision that we said farewell to in Hollywood Studios. Let’s just say, you might only have a minute and a half! Seriously, it was super cute to see all of the references, and they made us smile (and cry a little). There’s also a wild amount of throwbacks to PizzeRizzo, the Muppet restaurant that also closed in Hollywood Studios, which was also one of my favorite places. Glad it will live forever, but I want my pizza back! Even Aerosmith references made it in! It’s time to start the show! Of course, if you’re going to add all the other easter eggs, you need to reference Aerosmith, too! I mean, who doesn’t want some VIP passes? When one ride closes, you always have to make sure it continues to be represented, so even though the Muppets moved in, we’ll always remember the original owners of G-Force Records. The music was pretty quiet Climb in! We were so excited to hear the tracklist, but we’re going to warn you, you might need to stop screaming for a second to hear it. It’s very quiet, unlike Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, which you can hear pretty clearly. It will take us a few rides to get all the songs, but don’t forget to listen for a second before you continue screaming. The animatronics looked awesome Scooter running the show Scooter was so cute, y’all. Seriously, I wish I could sit next to him in the recording booth. He looked just like a real puppet (and even had the stick that the Muppets are controlled with — well, they’re real to us, but you get it). The penguins sitting at the soundboard looked pretty great, too. You can see the indoor scenes really well One night only Oh, what a fresh layer of neon paint can do. We could see all the characters and signs easily inside the ride, even though you race by them. We saw Sweetums and Gonzo, and you could totally tell what you were looking at. Everything was nice and bright, and we really enjoyed being able to see it so clearly. You ZOOM by Statler and Waldorf Unloading station The two animtronics that you’ll see outside the preshow are going to be on the left as you pull into the loading station. Keep in mind that you roll by them really fast, so if you want to hear their jokes and see them still bolted to their seats, look left and be prepared. We wish we had a little bit more time to enjoy them, but they’re still a nice addition. We enjoyed it just as much Outdoor queue We know it’s not Aerosmith, which most guests loved for a very long time, but we really liked it — like a lot. No, it’s not the same, but come on, it’s The Muppets who deserve their time to shine. You can tell a lot of effort was made on the ride, but in ways, it feels almost identical to its previous version, since it’s just a ride overlay, but you can tell the Muppets left an impression. If we can’t have Muppet*Vision, I’m glad to not lose everything Muppets! We are just so excited to ride it again (and again, and again), and it’s kinda all we’ve been thinking of since we rode. If you thought Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets was just a high-speed thrill, think again. The volume is being turned waaaay way up for Muppet fans (and for fans of going zero to 60 in 3 seconds) as you race across town to the biggest, loudest, most psychedelic The Electric Mayhem concert of your life. But, my groovy friends, it’s not just about the destination… It’s also about the journey to get there. The reimagined G-Force Records building at the end of Sunset Boulevard is less like a line and more like backstage access to The Muppets’ greatest hits. From the moment you step into G-Force Records (now under the new management of Muppet real estate tycoon, J.P. Grosse), you’re surrounded by Muppets memorabilia, props, visual gags, and more — and of course, The Muppets themselves. Blink-and-you’ll-miss-it references are layered with Muppet nods at every turn, showing the care and dedication that Walt Disney Imagineering put into curating everything (with help from…checks notes Yolanda the Rat). And yes, many items from Muppet*Vision 3D have made it inside, Even if you don’t have backstage passes, here’s a VIP look at some of the Easter eggs you’ll find along the way to the concert. Gallery Case Room Upon entering G-Force Records, you’re treated to an in-progress gallery case, lovingly curated by Yolanda the Rat. Who else would you trust with curating iconic pieces? A moi-focused tribute to Miss Piggy featuring one of her iconic looks, a pink and green polka dot dress with a matching hat. The Muppets Studios recently donated Kermit’s original banjo, of “The Rainbow Connection” fame, to the Walt Disney Archives. While the original banjo is safely tucked away, Imagineers recreated it for display. And it wouldn’t be G-Force Records without a nod to those who rock the loudest, The Electric Mayhem. Both Floyd and Janice’s guitars on display are originals from The Muppet Show. The Alley With your VIP passes, head out into the alley where your rockin’ L.I.M.O. (Lengthy Immediate Motion Object) awaits. Along the way, be sure to stop and take in the sights (and dozens of easter eggs). You’ll find not one, but multiple props transported from Muppet*Vision 3D, including some of the shipping crates from the building. And for those who are fans of cranky old geezers, Statler and Wardolf’s chairs from the theater balcony are also inside. Always one to dance to the beat of his own drum, Gonzo started a new adventure, Gonzo’s Stunt School – Hollywood. You know it’s him because “The Great Gonzo” banner from the pre-show is nestled nearby, along with his stunt airplane. And when it’s time to shoot Gonzo out of a cannon, he’s got the one from Muppet*Vision that the penguins used to aim at Swedish Chef. For those looking for the dough, pizza boxes from the Hollywood institution PizzeRizzo are nearby. Bonus! The Mona Lisa from Mama Melrose has also found its way to the alley. Across the alley, The Squeakeasy shows that it was established in 1936, the same year that Jim Henson was born. There are also nearby fliers suggesting that someone has lost a bunny, because Bean Bunny ran away. There’s also laundry strung up outside the fire escape, featuring Fozzie’s bowtie, a PizzeRizzo apron, and a tour shirt for The Electric Mayhem. One of the biggest easter eggs, literally, is the “blast off” billboard advertising Pop Off. Fozzie once hid his Studebaker here in The Muppet Movie. Muppet Labs Parking Garage Bunsen and Beaker have been busy working in the Muppet Labs Automotive Division, so of course, they have some vehicles lying around. For those in need of a fast, small ride, the Interpol Car from Muppets Most Wanted has found a home in the parking garage. And if you really want to take Muppets Labs on the road, the fan-favorite Muppet Mobile Labs, which has been spotted in both EPCOT, Disney California Adventure, and Hong Kong Disneyland, is situated nearby. On the Hollywood 101 Freeway Your ride has arrived in style. When you’re not scream-singing the lyrics to the rockin’ music onboard, try to keep your eyes peeled for the Muppet sights. Whiz past World Wide Studios, the world-famous movie studio seen in The Muppet Movie. Is that…is that Rat Pizza? Yes, it is. The PizzeRizzo sign has found a new home alongside the 101. You might also spot a Waldo crossing, a loving nod to the Spirit of 3D. And of course, you can’t keep moving right along without an Obligatory Easter Egg. Backstage at the Concert Rock on! As you coast to a stop, there are two people who refuse to rock on: Statler and Waldorf. Your eyes do not deceive you, that really is Statler and Waldorf, and that really is the Statler and Waldorf from Muppet*Vision 3D. Another thing brought over is the tribute to Jim Henson that used to hang in the rafters in the pre-show. Now, the portrait of Jim Henson as a Muppet hangs over the edit end of the ride. It’s a HUGE day over in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and we’ve been bouncing on our toes all day with excitement! Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets Cast Member previews are currently ongoing for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, and that means we JUST got a chance to ride the new version of the attraction, and we’ve got SO much to tell you about. Let’s just say, Muppets fans are about to be VERY happy! Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets officially opens to the public on May 26th, with Annual Passholder previews taking place on May 21st, 22nd, and 23rd, but Cast Members get the chance to preview the ride even EARLIER. We got a chance to ride recently, and when we tell you there’s SO MUCH to catch up on, we really mean it. Don’t worry, though, we’re taking you through it all in advance, so you don’t miss anything when you ride! If you don’t want any spoilers, look away now! Outdoor queue Starting out in the queue, you’ll notice TONS of framed photos, costumes, and posters from the many years of The Muppets. Throughout the entire experience, you’ll notice Easter Eggs to the iconic Muppet movies, Muppet*Vision, and the Aerosmith version of the attraction, which we were so stoked to see. Make sure to look closer at the details Heading into the pre-show room, we were hit with even more details! The pre-show itself is pretty short, so you may want to ride numerous times to see all the details. Some of our favorite details are all the nods to PizzeRizzo, such as the pizza box in the recording studio. You’ll also want to pay close attention to the recording booth as a whole — Scooter is over on the left, but the details are WILD. The more you look, the more you’ll see! It’s time to start the show! Of course, they kept the iconic line from the pre-show, which we’re thrilled about. Now someone shouts out, “Who wants some backstage passes?” We do! We do! As we headed over to the loading station, you guessed it — there are MORE details! There are props practically everywhere from the Muppets films you know and love, and you’ll even see a hiring sign for PizzeRizzo right over the loading dock! You’ll even find the Muppet Mobile Labs vehicle, which we LOVED. Muppet Labs This is also where you’ll get your first look at the limos, and yes, they’ve all gotten a makeover! Now they all have a similar color scheme to the car near the ride area entrance, which is reminiscent of The Electric Mayhem’s van. Climb in The license plates are different, too, just like in the Aerosmith version, so keep an eye out for which one you get! If you choose to ask for the front row, there’s a separate waiting area you’ll be sent to, and this is where you’ll find the plans for the L.I.M.O. (pronounced “lymo”) on the wall, which say “make it a stretch, make it a super stretch” — a nod to the Aerosmith version of the ride! Ready to rock! On the ride vehicle itself, we’ll warn you now that the music in the vehicle is actually pretty quiet, so you’ll want to listen closely for what song you get (you know, over all the screaming). We do love that Animal is now the one counting you off for the launch! How fun! Don’t forget to secure your items As for the ride itself, there are definitely some BIG changes, and it lived up to its name! It’s the same ride as before, as the track hasn’t changed, but it’s got some fun Muppets twists throughout it, including some great sarcastic Muppets humor. One of our favorites is that the sign that used to say “corkscrew” now says “obligatory corkscrew.” One night only When you finish the ride and are coming into the unloading station, look quickly over to your left, because that’s where you’ll find Statler and Waldorf, who are, yes, still bolted to the seats, so they’re not going anywhere. They go by quick, so be sure to keep a close eye out for them. Unloading station Overall, one of our favorite parts about this retheme is how many nods there are to Muppets history and Muppet*Vision 3D itself. There are Easter Eggs practically everywhere you look, and that classic Muppets humor was prevalent as well. We loved seeing the Miss Piggy record that featured a “huge, show-stopping, major song,” and Kermit reminds the band that they have “a minute and a half” in the pre-show room! It’s finally happening! We finally got a chance to ride Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets ahead of its big opening day on May 26th. Now, we’ve already shared some thoughts with you about the new ride, but there’s so much more we need to share! Ready to rock! Here’s the thing: there are SO many fun details and Easter eggs that you could easily miss if you’re not paying attention. So we’re going through all the details we’ve discovered so far, so you can look for them, too, when you get a chance to ride this all-new Muppets attraction. Warning: this contains spoilers, so turn back now if you want to still be surprised! The Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets experience starts as soon as you walk through the entrance, which has been given a new, colorful paint job. Entrance Then you’ll head towards the ride building, where the giant guitar has also been given a similar makeover. There’s even a poster of the ride nearby. If you look closely at the piano below the guitar, you’ll notice that one of the keys is painted gold — inspired by the Electric Mayhem’s frontman and keyboard player, Dr. Teeth. We love it! Inside is where things really get interesting. So the story is that Scooter’s uncle, J.P. Grosse, who also owns the Muppet Theatre, is now in charge of G-Force Records. During the pre-show, Electric Mayhem is in the recording studio having a jam session. You’ll even see penguin engineers, as well as a Scooter animatronic. The penguins In the preshow, you’ll want to keep an eye out behind Scooter for a black Gibson Les Paul hanging on the wall near Kermit’s banjo. This was in the former Aerosmith version of the ride’s preshow, referenced by Joe Perry. He would ask “Chris” to grab the guitar, and if a Cast Member was in the preshow room, they’d grab the guitar and take it through a nearby door, acting as Chris. Kermit’s banjo is there to! Scooter is also holding a mug that says, “Hey, hey, hey,” referencing the original Aerosmith manager’s dialogue from the old preshow. Scooter running the show Oh, and don’t forget to look for the boxes of PizzeRizzo pizza hiding in the recording studio, too. Honestly, that one just hurts! You’ll also spot some more in the loading area, as well. And keep an ear out in case anyone asks if you want Backstage Passes! PizzeRizzo will always remain in my heart After you leave the preshow, there’s a hallway with a TON of photos of Scooter as Employee of the Month, but there’s also a photo of actor Ken Marino as an “Outstanding Lifetime Achievement Award” as a “G-Force Legend.” Marino was in the original Aerosmith preshow as a sound engineer. What an honor In the preshow, the band is so into the jam session that they’re about to miss their biggest concert ever. So now it’s up to Kermit, Miss Piggy, you, and the rest of the Muppets gang to get them to the concert in time. To do that, you’ll need to hop in the Lengthy Immediate Motion Object (L.I.M.O.) created by Muppet Labs. Speaking of Muppet Labs, in the ride loading zone, you can see the Muppet Mobile Lab — a two-wheeled science-lab vehicle that resembles a small rocket ship. Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker used to drive the Mobile Lab around Disney World, Disneyland, and even Hong Kong Disneyland back in the day. Muppet Labs There’s also a spot near where you wait for the front row with blueprints for the L.I.M.O. that say, “Make it a stretch, make it a super stretch,” which is also a reference to the Aerosmith version of the ride. Climb in! There are quite a few references to Muppet*Vision 3D as well, including a Miss Piggy record that says it “Includes an unreleased huge, show-stopping, major song from Miss Piggy,” and Kermit reminds the band that they only have “a minute and a half” before the show. This is a reference to when Sam Eagle would promise a “glorious three-hour finale,” before Kermit says, “You’ve got a minute and a half.” It’s time to start the show! Near the beginning of the ride, there’s a large sign that looks like an advertisement for PizzeRizzo that looks almost exactly like the sign that used to be on top of the old restaurant building — and it honestly might just be. And for all you Sweetums fans, don’t worry — he makes an appearance, too! Outdoor queue Statler and Waldorf also appear toward the end, with iconic quips as always. One of which is, “We can’t, you old fool! We’re bolted to the seats!” This is a direct callback to their dialogue from Muppet*Vision 3D. runDisney is a popular and beloved Disney tradition, where several times a year, runners flock to Disney World and run races through the Disney World parks. These events include getting into the parks before they open and meeting special characters! You know, sometimes the best snacks at Disney World aren’t even at the parks, and we’re here to prove that to you! Mater Chocolate Pit Stop We’re Disney foodies — we love going around Disney World, trying all the different eats and treats the Most Magical Place on Earth has to offer. Recently, we went to a few Disney World Resort hotels to see what we could find to put in our stomachs, and we need to share our BIG snack haul with you! We guarantee you’ll find something in here that you’ll want to try. Art of Animation Over at the Art of Animation Resort, we went to a quick-service spot called Landscape of Flavors. A few things caught our eye there, starting with the Mickey-Shaped Peanut Butter Brownie for $5.99. This feels like a super nostalgic snack because it reminds us of those Mickey-shaped brownies with icing and Mickey sprinkles they had at the resorts in the 2000s. Mickey-Shaped Peanut Butter Brownie The sprinkles on this are peanut butter M&Ms! The chocolate icing on top is soft, smooth, and slightly gooey with a brownie base that has a soft and fluffy texture. There’s no fudgey interior, but in this case, that’s a good thing given all the other flavors going on. It looks so nostalgic! The peanut butter M&Ms add a good, crunchy texture to the smoothness of the rest of the brownie, and the peanut butter drizzle gives a prominent, salty, peanut butter flavor in every bite. The combination of the peanut butter and chocolate makes for a good, balanced sweet and salty flavor profile! The portion size is perfect without being overwhelmingly sweet, thanks to the peanut butter to balance it out. This is so tasty! The chocolate goodness doesn’t end there, because we got the Mater Chocolate Pit Stop next, for $6.79. This is a chocolate mousse over a chocolate cake with a white chocolate coin and whipped cream. The overall flavor is milkier and creamier than the chocolate flavor we anticipated. Mater Chocolate Pit Stop The mousse is light and airy with a bouncy texture, almost like gelatin. It’s smooth and not very rich, with a very toned-down chocolate flavor that doesn’t come through much. The chocolate cake layer is stiff and a bit flavorless. Who wants to try the Mater treat? The outer edge is darker than the middle, possibly having a cookie crumble exterior, but it’s so stiff that it’s hard to tell. The whipped cream is light and creamy and blends well with the rest of the dessert. It’s a bit of a tougher, thick dessert that’s not the easiest to eat. We’d also consider it more milky than chocolate-focused. Let’s take a bite! The last thing we grabbed from here was the Crispy Chicken Parmesan Sandwich for $13.19. This is a pretty decent-sized sandwich that could honestly feed maybe two people. The sandwich also comes with a lot of pepper-y seasoned kettle chips. Crispy Chicken Parmesan Sandwich This is served on a ciabatta-style bread, and the overall flavor leans heavily toward the red sauce. The combination of the ciabatta bread and red sauce gives the whole sandwich a flatbread pizza type of feel. The amount of sauce can drown out the chicken flavor in some bites, but the chicken is cooked through evenly and is pretty tender. The sandwich is a good size! It was easy to cut and bite through, even though it was large. There is a thin layer of cheese on top of the chicken. It’s your typical chicken parm, but the cheese blends into everything and is hard to pick out the individual flavor. It’s a solid sandwich choice if you’re in the mood for a heavier snack or lunch. This was good! On to the next one! All-Star Movies Over at the All-Star Movies Resort, we checked out the World Premiere Food Court. The first thing we grabbed was the mouth-watering Cookie Butter Cheesecake for $6.29. This was more cheesecake than cookie butter, with a strong cream cheese flavor. Cookie Butter Cheesecake The whipped cream was smooth, as was the cheesecake layer, with a very crumbly crust. The crust’s foundation was a little weak and fell apart easily — it really didn’t stay together for long. We wouldn’t necessarily go out of our way for this, especially since this resort is a little removed from a lot of spots. However, it was a pretty decent portion for $6, and it was refreshing on a hot Florida day (which we’re getting lots of now). This was good! We also grabbed the Alien Blondie for $5.79 at this location. This treat is so cute, and it looks like it should taste so good, but unfortunately, it has a single note. The base is supposed to be a blondie, and what we have instead is a very dry, tense vanilla cake. It explains why it felt like it was going to break in half when we tried to pick it up. Alien Blondie The only flavor note is vanilla, and an unpleasantly dry vanilla cake at that. The coating on the outside is green icing, but we didn’t even get any notes of vanilla in the actual icing; all we tasted was sugar. The eyeballs are your classic sugar eyeballs. This was disappointing! The great news is that we think kids will absolutely love this. It would be great to split it between two or three kids because it is enough for each of them to have a very nice piece, and it is so cute that they will absolutely go nuts over it. This could be good for kids! But wait, there’s more! All-Star Music Our last hotel stop was the All-Star Music Resort. There, we went to Intermission Food Court and got the Warm Hugs Chocolate Mousse for $6.49. First off, the treat presentation was super neat! The description for the treat says hot chocolate mousse, but it really just tasted like normal chocolate mousse. So, we don’t really know how that works. Warm Hugs Chocolate Mousse The fondant and mousse were very, very smooth, and our fork glided through both. There were some crunchy and large sugar crystals on top that added some much-needed texture. Throughout, there were also some large crispy puffs that added some more crunchiness, but it wasn’t enough in our opinion. This is another that we wouldn’t go out of our way for, unless you’re a massive Olaf fan and NEED to get this. A look inside! Over the years, we’ve tried thousands of treats in Disney World. All-Star Movies And sometimes, those treats disappear and then return later down the road with new ingredients or a new look. Recently, a long-lost treat that we missed resurfaced at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort…and you know we just had to try it! Several years ago (way back pre-pandemic in 2019), Disney’s Hollywood Studios offered this The Sorcerer’s Hat 30th Anniversary Treat. It was oh-so-cute, made to look like the park’s iconic Sorcerer’s Hat icon (RIP). It sold out quickly and was popular with guests, but we didn’t see it again for a long while. The Sorcerer’s Hat Now, you can find a NEW version of the snack at the World Premiere Food Court at All-Star Movies Resort. It’s completely revamped ingredients-wise, but the look is very similar. It’s called the Sorcerer’s Hat Chocolate Strawberry and it’s available for $6.49. Isn’t it cute?! The middle of the treat is a chocolate-strawberry mousse. The mousse itself was SO creamy and smooth with no grittiness whatsoever. The chocolate flavor is very prominent, and it pretty much overpowers the strawberry. Add in the two chocolate ears on the hat, and you’ve got a chocolate lover’s dream. An up-close look. The cookie on the bottom is soft and easy to cut through, but not very interesting texture-wise. It’s also chocolate, so the rich flavor continues through the base. We were craving a bit more variety flavor-wise here — it would be improved with a little punch from that strawberry. Inside the treat Dark chocolate lovers will be happy, but if you’re not used to this much chocolate at once, we recommend having a drink on hand to balance things out a bit. It’s a really fun dessert visually, though, and it makes for super cute photos! The mousse Ultimately, we think the delicious chocolate trumps the flavor of the old version of this treat, but it’s still not something you should really go out of your way to purchase. Honestly, it would’ve been more fun to have this at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in honor of the return of the Sorcerer Mickey hat.
