  2. The party has started, y’all! The 2024 EPCOT Festival of the Arts is officially underway! EPCOT Festival of the Arts We’ve been covering the festival LIVE for you so you have all the details on all the food, the entertainment, and — of course — the merchandise. So there’s one souvenir, though, that we’ve ALL been impatiently waiting for. But it’s finally here, a NEW Figment Popcorn Bucket has arrived on the scene! This year, getting your hands on the NEW popcorn bucket is WAY easier and doesn’t involve standing in hours-long lines. You’ll need to hop on the My Disney Experience app and use Mobile Order to get it. It might be tricky to find on the app, but we’ve outlined the whole process here. ©Disney Once your given time begins, you can click on the “I’m here, prepare my order” and then head to the Odyssey pavilion to pick up the new popcorn bucket. We got ours and just LOOK AT IT. This year’s bucket is shaped like the Imagination Pavilion. 2024 Figment Popcorn Bucket It comes with a strap that says “2024 EPCOT Festival of the Arts.” Figment is on it, too. Plus, it LIGHTS UP! The strap The outside of the popcorn bucket is clear so you can see Figment inside sliding down a rainbow. We can’t EVEN with these fun details. Figment is inside! The bucket also comes with that delicious rainbow popcorn. YUM! The new Figment Popcorn Bucket should be available throughout the festival — if you want to get your hands on it, it’s $30. If you collect popcorn buckets or if you just love Figment, we think this is a good souvenir to add to your collection. 5. Who is ready to book a Disney Cruise? Moana We are! So we’ve been getting more and more excited about sailing on Disney’s NEWEST ship, the Disney Treasure. This ship is going to be OFF THE HOOK with a Coco-themed restaurant, a Haunted Mansion lounge, and more! But we’re also excited about the new Moana show that’s coming to the Treasure. Now, we’ve got NEW details about the show. Disney previously announced that a new Broadway-style production, Disney The Tale of Moana, would be coming to the ship. The show will feature set design and music inspired by the Pacific Islands for the first stage adaptation of the Moana film. The show will feature puppetry, including a massive fiery Te Kā that will transform into Te Fiti towards the end of the show. Te Fiti at EPCOT A new song has also been written for the show. Moana and Maui will sing “Warrior Face” when the demigod teaches Moana how to face her fears before she faces Tamatoa. But don’t worry, lots of your favorite Moana songs will also be featured, including “You’re Welcome,” “We Know The Way,” and “How Far I’ll Go.” Disney The Tale of Moana will begin just like the movie, on the island of Motunui. The spirit of Gramma Tala will be the narrator, while the show uses “vibrant dance and songs in a mix of languages including Tuvaluan, Tokelauan and Samoan” to tell Moana’s story as she journeys to restore the heart of Te Fiti. Here’s a peek at the scene “An Innocent Warrior.” ©Disney We also got a sneak peek at the “How Far I’ll Go” scene, as the set transforms into the open ocean. According to Disney, “Twinkling stars will swirl overhead and a giant, glowing manta ray will emerge and soar above the audience as a newfound sense of courage fills Moana.” The giant manta ray is the spirit of Gramma Tala, which is guiding Moana on her journey. ©Disney It looks pretty incredible so far, right? We can’t wait to see it! The Disney Treasure will begin setting sail in December 2024. Want help booking your next Disney cruise? 6. While we frequently make recommendations and nudge you towards some of the better (in our opinion) things Disney World has to offer, occasionally we have strong pieces of advice that we believe you should absolutely take. This is one of those occasions. Tree of Life in Animal Kingdom In theory, planning a Disney World vacation should be the most stressful part of your trip. Once you get to the resort, that’s where the fun begins. We wish we could say it was all fun, but if plan on visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom, you should brace yourself for a possibly rocky experience with one particular attraction. If you’re banking on a short queue at any point throughout the day, you may be making a losing bet. Easily the most popular ride in the park, even more so than traditional thrill rides like Expedition Everest, most people will rope drop Flight of Passage, making for a super stressful rope-dropping experience. Pandora So if rope-dropping guarantees you nothing and Genie+ omits Flight of Passage, where does that leave us? Well, you have three possible choices. You can skip the ride altogether, which is totally your call but could save you hours out of your day. You could wait in line, which historically averages over 90 minutes. Or — what we absolutely recommend — you could spend the extra $13-16 per person and skip the hassle, stress, and annoyance of a rope drop at Animal Kingdom while ensuring that you and your family get to ride one of Disney World’s best attractions. When it comes to Disney World, time is money and sometimes you have to spend a little bit extra to save a lot of time (avoid major stress). Look at the beauty! At the end of the day, we can only recommend what we feel is best but it always comes down to what you and your family want to do on your Disney World vacation. In any case, we’re here to help as best we can so be sure to stay tuned here at DFB for all the latest news, guides, and Disney World tips! 7. EPCOT has been through quite a few changes recently! Spaceship Earth in EPCOT The park is almost done with a massive transformation that included new rides, restaurants, gift shops, and common spaces. Just back in December, we saw World Celebration (the area in the middle of the park) reopen to visitors, but construction in the front areas of the park isn’t quite done yet. And recently, there was another major change! A few years ago when EPCOT kicked off the multi-year transformation and started putting up construction walls around the park, a new pathway was opened near Spaceship Earth. This pathway would lead you directly back from the front entrance area to The Seas with Nemo and Friends and the rest of World Nature. The Seas We’ve used this path a LOT in the past few years, but now Disney has closed it off again! If you want to get to The Seas and that side of the park, there are some alternate routes. The walkway is closed! The first is to walk up by Spaceship Earth and take the pathway that goes past Journey of Water and the new Moana meet and greet. This is probably the most direct route. The path comes out next to Journey of Water The other option is to go through World Celebration, then cut right in the middle of the park and walk past CommuniCore Hall (the big white building that’s still under construction). This path opens up in the middle of World Nature, directly across from The Land Pavilion. Take the pathway past this building! Navigating EPCOT may be a little confusing right now, but we can’t wait to see what things look like when the rest of the construction is completed this year! Stay tuned to DFB for all the updates. 9. Today, Disney Cruise Line revealed more details about “Disney The Tale of Moana,” which will debut exclusively at the Walt Disney Theatre onboard the Disney Treasure in December 2024. With set design and music bursting with elements of Pacific Islands culture which inspires the classic coming-of-age tale, this innovative production will immerse audiences in a transformational adventure across land and sea in the first stage adaptation inspired by the Walt Disney Animation Studios film. Towering Puppets Take Stage To create the incredible puppetry that will bring some of the characters to life on stage, Disney Live Entertainment creative director of puppetry and articulation, Jeff Conover, teamed up with master puppet designer Michael Curry, whose creations are featured in Disney’s Tony Award-winning musical “The Lion King” on Broadway. The massive, fiery Te Kā will be a puppet of a scale Disney Cruise Line has never before produced. When Moana meets Te Kā and restores the heart of Te Fiti, the giant Te Kā puppet will shed its fiery shell and become the gentle island goddess, Te Fiti herself. Practice Your “Warrior Face” Moana and Maui will perform the song “Warrior Face” for the first time in the stage show when the demigod teaches Moana how to face her fears before entering the Realm of the Monsters to face Tamatoa. “Warrior Face” will join classic favorites from the Grammy-Award winning soundtrack in the stage show, including “You’re Welcome,” “We Know The Way” and “How Far I’ll Go.” Setting the Scene in “An Innocent Warrior” “Disney The Tale of Moana” will begin in modern day on the fictional island of Motunui, in a set design filled with hints of brilliant cultures of the Pacific Islands that will appear throughout the show. The spirit of Gramma Tala, our narrator, will introduce her granddaughter, while through vibrant dance and songs in a mix of languages including Tuvaluan, Tokelauan and Samoan, we will learn how the ocean chooses young Moana for an incredible journey to restore the heart of Te Fiti. Transforming The Walt Disney Theatre in “How Far I’ll Go” In this iconic scene, The Walt Disney Theatre will transform from the island of Motunui into the open ocean as Moana’s journey moves from her home to the great voyage that she’s longed for her entire life. Twinkling stars will swirl overhead and a giant, glowing manta ray will emerge and soar above the audience as a newfound sense of courage fills Moana. The manta ray is the spirit of Gramma Tala, illuminating the way for Moana on her journey to save her people. “Disney The Tale of Moana” will join a dazzling lineup of fan-favorite shows like “Beauty and the Beast” and “Disney Seas the Adventure” in the Walt Disney Theatre onboard the Disney Treasure. 10. We see it happen every year. Disney releases some snazzy new merchandise (perhaps a popcorn bucket? maybe a tote bag?), and Disney fans FLOCK to stores to check it out. Speaking of new merchandise, January 12th marks the first official day of the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts, and each new festival brings TONS of popular new souvenirs to Disney World. 2024 EPCOT Festival of the Arts Passport We’re just getting started at this year’s festival, but there already seems to be one HOT ticket item. And no — it isn’t a Loungefly bag or a pair of Minnie ears. Wait until you see the new item that is literally flying off the shelves. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Yes, we know that the expression “This thing is flying off the shelves” is often used as a hyperbole, but we’re not kidding when we say that this new souvenir is selling out FAST. One moment, we were looking at a display full of bags…the next, they were GONE! This was full a moment ago and totally empty a moment later! We found the new Festival of the Arts Lug bag at the Creations Shop in EPCOT. It’s $90 and features a TON of interior pockets, plus some colorful embroidery and a Figment patch! 2024 EPCOT Festival of the Arts Lug Bag featuring Figment This is a little larger than a typical Loungefly backpack, so if you’re looking for a Disney bag with a little more space, this might be a great new option! This is a pretty big backpack! Here’s a closer look at the bag. Hey, Figgy! We’re loving all the little details on this new backpack! How fun! Doesn’t this remind you of all the classic, retro EPCOT details you can find around the park? That embroidery is so cool! This is SO EPCOT! The interior has a fun EPCOT-themed print. Since this is the Festival of the ARTS, we found a few artsy details, too! Backpack interior Currently, this appears to be an EPCOT-exclusive item, but if you’d like a Lug backpack of your own, we’ve got you covered! Amazon has several Disney-inspired Lug backpacks, including a Minnie Mouse-themed bag and a Little Mermaid-inspired backpack. Check them out HERE! View on Amazon Note that EPCOT is instituting a limit of TWO per person on Lug items at the Creations Shop. Two per person, please! We also spotted another NEW Figment-themed Lug purse. This one is more of a crossbody-style purse. Ta-da! If you can’t make it to EPCOT right now, we’ve got some good news! This bag is available online, too. UPDATE: A Cast Member informed us that the Lug Crossbody bag has sold out at Creations Shop, and we noticed that it’s sold out online as well. We’ll be watching for a re-stock, but the Cast Member warned us that it might not be back in stock in EPCOT until February. Shop the NEW Figment Skeeter Mini Convertible Crossbody Bag by Lug Isn’t it cute? The coolest part about this bag is that it can convert from a crossbody to a belt bag. That’s TWO bags in one! 11. If you’re an Annual Passholder looking to get into the parks today, make sure you check out park pass reservations first! Magic Kingdom with a crowd The parks have been seeing some BUSY days recently. Not only have the parks been packed with guests, but most Annual Passholders were blocked out until January 5th. As we gain access back to the parks, it looks like we’re seeing some roadblocks along the way — in the shape of Park Pass Reservations. We know that Park Pass Reservations are gone for date-based tickets, but Annual Passholders still have to abide by Park Pass rules unless it is a good-to-go day or after 2PM. We’ve been keeping an eye on the Park Pass Reservation calendar… and ALL park passes are sold out today — except for ONE park. We’ve been keeping up with the Annual Passholder reservation calendar and it is going to be a BUSY day at Disney World. We saw that EVERY park was sold out of park passes today — except for Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Disney’s Animal Kingdom EPCOT is sold out today, which makes sense because today is the official kickoff of the 2024 Festival of the Arts! We’ve been seeing some pretty decent crowds there today as people are headed there to experience the festival. A NEW Figment popcorn bucket is being released, too — so the crowds could have a little to do with figment-mania, too . Crowds for day 1 of Festival of the Arts! Magic Kingdom is also sold out today — We’ve been seeing low wait times so far this morning, but keep in mind that it was a rainy morning, and once it clears up the crowds may start to show up. A busy day in Magic Kingdom To top it all off, Disney’s Hollywood Studios is also sold out today! It looks like we’ll be seeing some pretty big crowds throughout the parks — and we’re interested to see how the crowds change now that Park Hopping is back to normal. Disney’s Hollywood Studios So, if you’re an Annual Passholder looking to head to the parks today, Animal Kingdom is going to be your best bet for booking your Park Pass Reservations. If it is after 2PM, you can try to enter a park without a reservation — and you should be good to go unless the park has reached capacity for the day, so keep that in mind! Annual Passholder Magnets Annual Passholders don’t need Park Passes on “Good-to-Go” days, but today is unfortunately not one of those days. Some upcoming “Good-to-Go” days are January 16th, 18th, 23rd, 24th, and 28th, as well as February 1st. ©Disney It looks like it will be a busy day for Annual Passholders. 13. We’re not trying to step on your toes, but let’s talk about some of those rules you’ve been breaking at Disney World hotels. Coronado Springs The list of do’s and don’ts is probably the furthest thing from your mind when you’re planning your Disney World trip, and that’s understandable. That’s why we’re here — so that you can have a fun and safe trip and not break any of the rules unknowingly! No need to look around and try to find who’s been guilty of breaking Disney World rules (we’ve all probably broken a rule on a previous visit). That aside, let’s take a look at a couple of rules that you might not have known you’ve been breaking at the hotels. Balloons Aren’t Allowed In Animal Kingdom Lodge Let’s start with this one as not everyone realizes this is a rule. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge (both Kidani Village and Jambo House) strictly prohibits balloons — even the balloons Disney sells themselves are not allowed. Balloons! Please don’t be offended. Just know that this rule is to protect the animals. With so many creatures, and several of these being winged creatures, lost balloons can be very dangerous to their health. Don’t Feed The Wildlife Listen, no matter how cute the squirrel or duck looks, please, oh please, do not feed them! You’ll be breaking a Disney rule if you do this! In some cases, you’ll also be breaking a Florida law. Do not feed the wildlife You’ll find signs posted all around Disney World asking you not to feed the wildlife and the short of it is: It’s not their natural food and what their bodies are meant to eat. The last thing anyone wants to have happen is for the animals to become dependent on people to feed them. That can turn into pretty aggressive behavior when animals are no longer cautious of the people around them, so let’s just stick to the rules! Don’t Sit On Railings, Chains, and Ropes We’re not sure why it is that when we see a railing or ropes, we instantly want to lean on it and maybe even swing on it, but this can turn dangerous incredibly fast. Railings at Riviera There’s a very real possibility that these railings, ropes, and chains might collapse on you since they aren’t sturdy enough to hold your body weight. The last thing we want is for your whole vacation to be over in one fell swoop should you have a mishap on one of these. Don’t Put Your Kids On Trash Cans Now this one is just generally unsafe to do. Disney rules mention that “Engaging in any unsafe act or other act that may impede the operation of the Walt Disney World Resort or any part thereof” is prohibited, and we can see how plopping the kiddos down on one of these would violate that by creating a safety hazard. Trash Can You don’t want to have it happen where a Cast Member comes to ask you that your child come back down quickly and safely. Don’t Run In The Hotels Running isn’t allowed in any of the Disney resorts, and walking briskly is really pushing it. Remember, we’re at these places to rest and relax, not run all over the place. Lots of People Over Here Also, keep in mind the pools around the resorts. You really don’t want to slip and fall, causing yourself serious injury because you were trying to sprint around the pool deck. Don’t Bring Prohibited Water Toys to the Pool Before you go and pack your pool toys, make sure to double-check the hotel’s policy on water toys and flotation devices. Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort While you’re at the pool, follow the posted rules, but keep in mind that when it comes to what you’d like to bring with you, make sure that what you bring to the pool is not a distraction to the lifeguards or a danger to other guests. You’ll find that snorkels and fins, squirting toys, and hard frisbees are not allowed. Oh, and you’ll want to leave those oversized rafts at home too. Wilderness Lodge These are some pretty common Disney World hotel rules that we’ve seen broken regularly. We just need to be a bit more cautious while at the hotels so we don’t break them in the future. Be sure to stay tuned with us at Disney Food Blog for the latest in news and updates! 13 Rules You’re Accidentally Breaking in Disney World Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! 17. January 12th is the first day of the 2024 EPCOT Festival of the Arts, which means that the new Figment Popcorn Bucket is officially OUT! If you’re dying to get your hands on one of these, we’ve got all the information you need to know. 2024 Figment Popcorn Bucket Remember the last time a Figment Popcorn Bucket was released during one of these festivals? Yeah, it was rough. But luckily, this time you won’t have to wait in a six+ hour line to get one! They’re available on Mobile Order, and we’ve already put our order in, so you can too if you’re going to EPCOT today! You probably won’t have to stand in an hours-long line to grab the Figment Premium Popcorn Bucket this time (unless the Mobile Order return lines get super long somehow — we’ll keep you updated once we know for sure). With Mobile Order, you can place your order early and then return to the Odyssey pavilion when your arrival window comes to avoid that line. Odyssey Pavilion To get the bucket, go to the My Disney Experience (Disney World app) home screen and tap the little “+” button at the bottom middle of the screen. Hit “Order Food,” and then choose the EPCOT section. A screen like this should pop up! Pick “EPCOT Souvenir Release.” ©Disney — EPCOT Souvenir Bucket Release on Mobile Order Once you begin your order, you’ll be able to see that the only option here is that Figment Premium Popcorn Bucket. It costs $30. ©Disney — EPCOT Souvenir Bucket Release on Mobile Order You can purchase up to 2 per order. Review your order summary, and then check out! ©Disney Once your arrival window begins, you can click “I’m here, prepare my order” (that button will pop up right around when your arrival window begins). Then, head to the Odyssey pavilion where you can pick up your popcorn bucket! ©Disney Although Mobile Order will make it a LITTLE easier to get the new popcorn bucket, it will probably still sell out quickly, meaning you’ll need to be fast on your phone to grab it. We can guess that EVERYONE will be trying to grab one. Previous popcorn bucket So the good news is that you won’t have to stand in long lines for the popcorn bucket! Instead, you can just use Mobile Order, enjoy your morning at the festival, and then go grab your bucket when it’s your turn. 18. Disney After Hours events are BACK! This time, we’re visiting Magic Kingdom AFTER dark and experiencing low wait times, complimentary snacks, and TWO TIMES the normally scheduled fireworks. Talk about an eventful night! After Hours During Magic Kingdom’s three-hour long After Hours event, we’re visiting TONS of attractions and meeting some characters along the way. But one of the things we’re SUPER excited about is Disney’s BIG change. During the After Hours event, you can ride TRON Lightcycle / Run WITHOUT a virtual queue or Lightning Lane (paid FastPass to skip the line). That’s right — we’re using the standby line at TRON for the FIRST TIME! TRON Lightcycle / Run is the NEWEST roller coaster in Disney World — and it is POPULAR. The virtual queue can fill up quickly for this attraction on a normal day. But this isn’t a normal day, people! TRON Lightcycle / Run Ever since TRON first opened in 2023, the ride has operated exclusively with a virtual queue (and Individual Lightning Lane) that you can join via the My Disney Experience app. Even during Magic Kingdom’s other specially ticketed events, like Mickey’s Not-So-Scary-Halloween Party, the ride operated with a virtual queue system. TRON Lightcycle / Run But now, TRON is using a standby queue during Disney After Hours events! The standby line opens at 10PM (the same time the event officially begins). Of course, we HAD to go and check out the line during the first Magic Kingdom After Hours event. Right when the queue opened around 10PM, the line had already reached 45 minutes. The line stretched all the way down the ramp. Look — it’s a real standby line! Later in the evening, the line went down to a 30-minute wait. Keep your eyes on My Disney Experience throughout the night so you can take advantage of those LOW waits! ©Disney Magic Kingdom After Hours kicked off on January 11th, Hollywood Studios After Hours started on January 10th, and EPCOT After Hours start on February 2nd. 19. We’re doing Disney World a little DIFFERENTLY today. We talk about Magic Kingdom a LOT around here, but it’s not too often we find ourselves in the park for exclusive hard-ticket events, like Disney After Hours. But like we said, today is SPECIAL! We’re at the FIRST 2024 Magic Kingdom After Hours event, and we’re taking YOU along for the ride! Welcome to the Magic Kingdom During an After Hours event, you can check out 20+ Magic Kingdom attractions without the lines! This exclusive event is offered on select nights from January 11th through April 8th, 2024. So, what’s included in the price of a ticket? Come with us to find out! Magic Kingdom After Hours tickets range in price and vary by date. The price varies from $155 to $175 (plus tax). If you’re a Disney World Annual Passholder or a Disney Vacation Club Member, you’re eligible for discounts. Check the calendar to see the available discounts! Event Details The event runs from 10PM to 1AM, but you can enter the park starting at 7PM. If you want to get the most bang for your buck, we recommend arriving around 7PM! Try to get there EARLY! Keep in mind that the capacity for this special event is limited, so one of the biggest perks here is the lack of CROWDS and reduced wait times at over 20 Magic Kingdom attractions (including TRON Lightcycle / Run). TRON Lightcycle / Run Attractions Over 20 attractions are open during After Hours, including: Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin Haunted Mansion “it’s a small world” Jungle Cruise Peter Pan’s Flight Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Space Mountain The Magic Carpets of Aladdin Pirates of the Caribbean Swiss Family Treehouse Enchanted Tiki Room Country Bear Jamboree The Barnstormer Dumbo The Flying Elephant Mad Tea Party The Many Adventures of Winnie The Pooh Mickey’s Philharmagic Prince Charming’s Regal Carrousel Under The Sea — Journey of The Little Mermaid Astro Orbiter Tomorrowland Speedway PeopleMover TRON Lightcycle / Run We got a park map! You can check the event guide for a full list of attractions, restaurants, and shops open during the event, too. Click here to see how EMPTY it is in the park during the event Nighttime Entertainment Guests can also enjoy an After Hours EXCLUSIVE firework show: Enchantment! Here’s a peek at the crowds around 8PM If you arrive EARLY (between 7-7:45PM), you can see BOTH Magic Kingdom’s current nighttime spectacular, Happily Ever After, AND Enchantment! Happily Ever After typically kicks off at 8PM, but be sure to check your My Disney Experience app for showtimes on the evening of your event. Snacks and Treats One of the big perks during Disney After Hours events is access to FREE ice cream, popcorn, and select bottled beverages! That’s right — unlimited Mickey Bars are included in the price of your ticket! Free popcorn! If you’re looking for a little midnight snack, you can also check out one of Magic Kingdom’s quick-service restaurants! Check the map to see what’s open! Note that the food here is NOT included in the price of your ticket. The following restaurants remain open during After Hours: Main Street Bakery Casey’s Corner Characters You can meet Mickey Mouse at Town Square Theater… Hey, Mickey! …and meet Disney Princesses at Princess Fairytale Hall. Check your event guide for a full list of characters available to meet during the event. Cinderella Whew! What do you think? Worth the price of admission? 20. OK, we’re gonna be honest. It’s a little strange rolling up to the Magic Kingdom park entrance AFTER sunset. It’s not every day that you get to drive through the Magic Kingdom gates in the DARK. So, what brings us out to Disney World at this late hour? We’re here to PARTY at a Disney After Hours event at Magic Kingdom! Let’s PARTY! As you can probably guess from the name, Magic Kingdom’s After Hours event is a specially ticketed event where guests can enjoy Magic Kingdom attractions WITHOUT the typical lines and crowds! The event is currently offered on select nights from January 11th through April 8th, 2024. Of course, one of the biggest questions people ask is, “What are the crowds REALLY like during an After Hours event?” Well, we’re here to show you! Magic Kingdom officially closes to day guests at 10PM, though guests with an After Hours event ticket can enter the park as early as 7PM. But the party officially gets going at 10PM and runs until 1AM. We arrived at the front gates of Magic Kingdom around 7PM. As you can see, we weren’t the only ones… The line may look a little long! The line to enter the park was pretty long at 7PM. Here’s a tip! When you arrive, always try to go to the far left line. It’s typically the shortest line. Don’t freak out! We noticed a few non-After Hours guests were a little confused about which line to stand in, which may have contributed to the long lines. But luckily, the line moved pretty quickly. The line moved pretty quickly! Once we got inside, we were met with those typical nighttime crowds. Don’t forget — the park isn’t officially closed to regular Magic Kingdom guests until 10PM. Disney’s Happily Ever After fireworks show started at 8PM, so naturally, we found a spot by Cinderella Castle and enjoyed the show! The park is EMPTY, and we’re having a BLAST. In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more. 25. Hey, Disney World Annual Passholders! Did you know that a NEW and exclusive perk has officially started? Annual Pass card Disney has introduced “Good-to-Go” days, which are essentially days when you DON’T need a Park Pass Reservation to go to Disney World. On these days, you don’t need to plan ahead at all — just show up! If you’re curious about how you can see which days are “Good-to-Go,” we’ve got a step-by-step guide to help you out! Disney recently got rid of the Park Pass Reservation requirement for date-based tickets, but Annual Passholders usually still need a Park Pass in order to get inside the theme parks. The exceptions to that rule are after 2PM on most days (excluding Magic Kingdom on Saturdays and Sundays) and “Good-to-Go” days. Annual Pass Those “Good-to-Go” days show up on the Annual Passholder calendar, so you can plan when you want to visit and see whether you’ll need a Park Pass. Note that you can’t really plan very far ahead — Disney has stated that they’ll update the calendar with more “Good-to-Go” days “days or weeks in advance,” so they’re not really giving us a ton of heads up. Right now, we can only see “Good-to-Go” days through February 1st. Annual Pass To be safe, we recommend making a Park Pass Reservation for your trip, and then if those dates become “Good-to-Go” days later on, Disney will automatically remove the Park Pass that you no longer need, so you can use it for a different trip instead. Ready to get started? Here’s how you can view “Good-to-Go” days online and on the Disney World App. How To View “Good-to-Go” Days Online Step One: Visit the Disney World Annual Passholder Calendar using this link. ©Disney Step Two: Select your Annual Pass type and the park you want to visit. ©Disney Step Three: Look for the green circles on the calendar! Dates that are circled are “Good-to-Go.” Note that, so far at least, it looks like the “Good-to-Go” days apply to all the Disney World theme parks, not just one at a time. This may change in the future. So far, it looks like the “Good-to-Go” days are January 16th, 18th, 23rd, 24th, 28th, and February 1st. ©Disney You can also click “View All “Reservation Not Required” Dates” to see a list of “Good-to-Go” days. Just click the link under the Annual Pass name… ©Disney …and this window should pop up with all the dates. ©Disney And now you’re all set! How To View “Good-to-Go” Days on the Disney World App But what if you want to check the “Good-to-Go” dates while you’re on the go? You can also look on the My Disney Experience app! Step One: Go to the home screen. Click the little “+” button at the bottom middle of your screen, and this menu should pop up. ©Disney Step Two: Click “Make or Modify Park Reservations.” From there, click “Annual Passes” under “View Current Availability.” ©Disney Step Three: This is the same calendar that we looked at online! ©Disney You’ll just select your pass type and the park you want to visit to see which dates are “Good-to-Go.” ©Disney You can also view all the “Good-to-Go” dates by clicking “View All “Reservation Not Required” Dates.” ©Disney Easy enough, right?
