  1. Are you ready to get your fill of thrills from Disney World rides in 2024? Tiana’s Bayou Adventure There are quite a few rides and attractions to choose from at Disney World, and it feels like the number continues to grow! Thinking about that and since it’s the new year, we figured we could at what will be the most popular rides at Disney World in 2024! When we think about the rides that are going to be the most popular at Disney World, our minds immediately go to the newest ones. So, here are a couple that are opening in the next few months: New Rides and Attractions Tiana’s Bayou Adventure The excitement around this new ride is unreal and that’s why it’s the first on this list! This new ride themed to Disney’s animated film The Princess and the Frog is called Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and is set to take visitors through the bayous of Louisiana to help Tiana with her new endeavor, Tiana’s Foods. New Concept Art This ride will pick up the moment after The Princess and The Frog ends and we will “join Princess Tiana and Louis on a musical adventure – featuring some of the powerful music from the film – as they prepare for their first-ever Mardi Gras performance.” Tiana opens Tiana’s Palace and requires the riders’ help finding a missing key ingredient for the Mardi Gras party she’s throwing for the people of New Orleans. We’re going to be seeing old and new characters, hearing familiar and new songs, and embarking on a whole new adventure with Tiana! It’s set to open in 2024. Country Bear Jamboree A new show is coming to Country Bear Jamboree in Magic Kingdom, and the beloved bears will be learning an all-new act — they’ll sing their usual songs in new styles like country, rockabilly, and bluegrass. ©Disney Country Bear Musical Jamboree will be a take on the classic variety shows found in Nashville, Tennessee, and Nashville musicians are involved in the new arrangements. For instance. we’ll be hearing a new version of “Bare Necessities” in a rockabilly style! A Disney Imagineer has shared, “The music is going to be amazing, and the show will still have the fun and friendly tone that we all love about the Country Bears.” The Little Mermaid Show The new show will be called “The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure” and is coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Fall 2024 and will be a “fully reimagined theatrical production inspired by the Walt Disney Animation Studios classic” of the same name. So, this show will be all about the original and not the live-action remake. ©Disney We’re still on the lookout for more details about this new show, and we’re excited to experience it when it opens. Star Tours During Star Wars Celebration Europe in April 2023, Disney announced that Disney Parks’ Star Tours attraction would be getting a HUGE upgrade. This ride has been updated over the years as new Star Wars movies have come out, but we’re now getting some new scenes that will feature a Star Wars TV show. Yes, Ahsoka will be a part of Star Tours at Disneyland, Disneyland Paris, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. ©Disney You’ll be able to ride this new version of Star Tours very soon as the new scenes will be added to the ride in Spring 2024. New Zootopia Attraction in Animal Kingdom Disney announced during Destination D23 on Saturday, September 9th, that Zootopia will, in fact, be coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom as a new show attraction. We’re also led to believe that this may mean that It’s Tough To Be A Bug will be closing its doors to make way for the upcoming show under the Tree of Life. ©Disney We also learned that Disney’s current concept for the new Zootopia experience will take guests through the different biomes you only glimpse in the movie, traveling along with Judy Hopps, Nick Wilde, and other characters. We’re still waiting for more info and solid dates, but if this opens up in 2024, it will definitely be popular! But wait, they don’t all have to be brand-new rides, right? Right! There are a lot of other rides that are already in Disney World that will still be pulling some massive crowds, so let’s go over a couple: Existing Rides and Attractions: TRON Lightcycle / Run As the newest ride currently at Disney World, this one tops the list. It will have you climbing aboard your very own Lightcycle and taking off on a high-speed adventure on the Grid! TRON Lightcycle / Run Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind This one’s pretty straightforward: Take off on an intergalactic chase with the Guardians of the Galaxy. Who wouldn’t want to do that?! Multiple times! Cosmic Rewind Avatar Flight of Passage Getting to climb atop a winged mountain banshee and fly all over Pandora’s breathtaking landscape makes this ride incredibly popular. It feels like we’re constantly seeing wait times for this top 150 minutes on the regular. An Avatar inside the Flight of Passage line Slinky Dog Dash This one is such a blast and never fails to slap a smile on your face. It will definitely be one of the most popular rides at Disney’s Hollywood Studios all year long. Besides, being a toy in Toy Story Land is always a dream come true. Slinky Dog Dash Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith It’s currently closed for refurbishment, but trust us when the refurb is done, it’s going to be a very popular ride to get on. I mean, who wouldn’t want to get into super-stretch limo, do some loops and inversions all while rocking out to your favorite Aerosmith hits?! Entrance to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster This is not an exhaustive list by any means. You’ll have to let us know what rides you’re looking forward to getting on during your next Disney World trip. 4. Listen. Phone bills are expensive — data isn’t cheap. In this day and age, having a working, reliable connection to the internet is ESSENTIAL to function, even when you’re on vacation! Take Disney World, for example. It’s practically impossible NOT to use your phone on vacation here; you need that My Disney Experience app to book reservations, check the wait times, view photos, and SO MUCH more. But what if you don’t want to use cell phone data? Magic Kingdom’s Cinderella Castle Here’s the deal. Disney offers free public Wi-Fi in its parks and resorts, but the connection can be unreliable. Whether you’ve got an important phone call to answer or you just want to be on that speedy Wi-Fi when it’s time to book a Genie+ Lightning Lane, here are a few places to AVOID due to poor internet signal. Disney World is HUGE, so it’s not totally surprising that there are a few places around the resort that have a weak internet signal. Some of our reporters noted that the Wi-Fi strength is less than ideal no matter WHERE you go on property, mainly because the connection has a tendency to drop after a period of time. All-Star Movies Resort That said, there are some spots that are notorious for having terrible Wi-Fi, so let’s break it down. Tomorrowland in Magic Kingdom According to Tomorrowland Cast Members (and our own reporters), Tomorrowland is known for having a poor Wi-Fi signal. The Wi-Fi isn’t great here! We’re no IT experts, so we can’t necessarily pinpoint the reason for the Wi-Fi issues here, but maybe the citizens of Tomorrowland have evolved past needing Wi-Fi, so the very concept is too antiquated to use — it is the land of the future, after all. Maybe WE’RE the problem. The Hub on Main Street U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom Ever tried to send a text on Wi-Fi in the middle of The Hub in Magic Kingdom? During busy times of the day (like right before the evening fireworks show), this area is PACKED with people. Magic Kingdom with a crowd Perhaps that heavy concentration of people all trying to use the same Wi-Fi at the same time is too much for the system to handle! If you’ve got something important to send, share, or download while you’re standing in front of Cinderella Castle, you’re better off using your cell phone data here. The Wi-Fi will likely NOT work for you. Toy Story Land in Disney’s Hollywood Studios This is another area known to fill up with people throughout the day. There’s something about small, crowded areas that Disney Wi-Fi does NOT seem to like. This area can get CROWDED! Sometimes, you may notice that your phone SAYS it’s connected to Disney Wi-Fi, yet the connection doesn’t seem to work. You’re not alone! As we said, the Wi-Fi can be spotty at times, but hey, at least it’s free. World Celebration in EPCOT Maybe that big old EPCOT ball (a.k.a. Spaceship Earth) is blocking the signal or something, but the area at the front of EPCOT never seems to give us a good Wi-Fi connection! World Celebration Maybe we need to start walking about with an antenna on our phones. Perhaps that would boost the strength! (We’re kidding; please don’t lecture us about how bad of an idea this is.) Dinosaur in Disney’s Animal Kingdom This ride is a Wi-Fi DEAD ZONE. In fact, it’s also a dead zone for cellular data! We don’t know what it is about this building, but it’s like Fort Knox for Wi-Fi. Dinosaur Maybe it’s because we’re going back to the time of the dinosaurs. Dinos don’t know about Wi-Fi — a T-Rex could never work a cell phone with those tiny little arms! It’s Tough to Be a Bug in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Speaking of rides in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, It’s Tough to be a Bug is another place where our phones become practically useless. It’s Tough to be a Bug? More like It’s Tough to be a Human Who Needs to Use Their Phone. It’s Tough To Be A Bug? Don’t try to book any Genie+ reservations while you’re inside the Tree of Life — odds are you won’t have any internet connection. Area between The Marketplace and The West Side in Disney Springs Even some areas outside the Disney World parks have spotty Wi-Fi, like the area between The Marketplace and The West Side in Disney Springs. We notice this the most when it’s busy at Disney Springs, so we’re guessing it has something to do with the amount of people on the same Wi-Fi. Disney Springs Disney’s free Wi-Fi may not be the BEST, but in a pinch, it can come in handy! Most times, you’re probably better off without the Wi-Fi, as your cell phone’s 5G connection is pretty speedy nowadays. In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more. I Got the Stomach Flu in Disney. Here’s What I Wish I Did Differently. 5. We just saw two Disney World rides shut down for lengthy refurbishments, with both Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster in Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Kali River Rapids in Disney’s Animal Kingdom closing on January 8th. But now, two MORE Disney World closures are starting this week! Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Let’s check out all the temporary closures and refurbishments that will affect Disney World from January 14th through the 20th. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad — Temporarily Closing on January 16th Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in Magic Kingdom will have a fairly short closure in January from the 16th through the 20th. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad This popular coaster in Frontierland will reopen on January 21st. Disney Skyliner — Temporarily Closing on January 16th The Disney Skyliner is closing for its annual refurbishment starting on January 16th. Disney Skyliner The entire Skyliner will be closed from January 16th through the 21st, and service between Disney’s Riviera Resort and the International Gateway at EPCOT will stay closed through January 27th. Walt Disney World Skyliner Don’t worry — free bus service between the parks and hotels that usually are connected by the Skyliner will be provided. Disney bus These aren’t the only ride and attraction closures affecting Disney World this week. Let’s check out a few more that might affect your vacation. Magic Kingdom Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Splash Mountain closed on January 23rd, 2023, for a long refurbishment. The ride is being re-themed to become Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, with a Princess and the Frog theme. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure The new ride will reopen sometime in 2024. Disney originally said “late 2024,” but in recent updates, they’ve removed the “late” and are just going with “2024” — does that mean it could open SOONER? We’ll be watching for more updates on the opening timeline. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Concept Art ©Disney If you miss Splash Mountain or want to celebrate the new ride, you should check out our DFB t-shirts! We have a Splash Mountain Farwell Tour shirt… DFB Exclusive! …and a Tiana tee as well! Check out our new Tiana-inspired merch! Barrel Bridge on Tom Sawyer’s Island The Barrel Bridge on Tom Sawyer’s Island is not only closed — it’s missing completely! Barrel Bridge is missing A Cast Member told us several months ago that it was removed for repairs, and we haven’t seen it back since. We’ll be keeping an eye out for its return. Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant Tomorrowland Terrace is a quick service restaurant that’s remained closed since the 2020 pandemic-related closures, but even before that, this spot was only occasionally open. It’s completely closed in here. Once in a while, you’ll see the dining rooms open as a rest area, but it’s usually all roped off and empty. Disney hasn’t announced when this spot could finally reopen, but we’ll be watching for updates! Disney Teased NEW Details About the Magic Kingdom EXPANSION Disney’s Hollywood Studios Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster closed on January 8th, it won’t reopen until the summer of this year. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Although we don’t have an exact reopening date yet, we know that it’ll be at least a few months before the ride reopens. Last year, when the ride closed around this time (on February 20th, to be exact), it reopened on May 26th. Voyage of the Little Mermaid Well, it’s official — Voyage of the Little Mermaid is permanently closed in Disney World. We had suspected this was the case for some time (as it hasn’t actually been open for a few years now), but now the permanent closure has finally been confirmed. Voyage of the Little Mermaid Disney is going to introduce a NEW show in this spot, though it will still be themed to the animated movie The Little Mermaid! The new show will be called “The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure” and is coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Fall 2024. ©Disney It will be a “fully reimagined theatrical production inspired by the Walt Disney Animation Studios classic.” 4 RARE Characters We Met at Disney’s Hollywood Studios After Hours Event Disney’s Animal Kingdom Kali River Rapids Kali River Rapids usually closes in January for refurbishment since water rides like this tend to be less popular during the winter months when it’s chilly outside. In 2024, it closed on January 8th. Kali River Rapids Disney has announced that Kali River Rapids will be closed through mid-March, so it sounds like it will be a little over two months before this ride is back up and running. Learn about the Animal Kingdom ‘Encanto’ expansion here! EPCOT Restaurant Marrakesh Restaurant Marrakesh is still closed in the Morocco pavilion of EPCOT’s World Showcase, and there’s no word yet on when it might reopen. Restaurant Marrakesh The restaurant is kind of open right now — it’s functioning as a lounge with just a couple of drink options. However, we’re still waiting for the full restaurant to reopen! Check out the Festival of the Arts booth menus here! Disney World Hotels 1900 Park Fare at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort At Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, 1900 Park Fare is a table service restaurant where you could meet characters like Mary Poppins and Alice in Wonderland at their Supercalifragilistic Breakfast and Cinderella and her Prince Charming during the Cinderella’s Happily Ever After Dinner. Dining Room at 1900 Park Fare (2019) They also had a special event for younger children called the Wonderland Tea Party. It’s sad to see a spot closed that had so much character interaction! Disney hasn’t announced a permanent closure, so there is hope for 1900 Park Fare. With 1900 Park Fare closed…you’ll need this SECRET spot to get afternoon tea in Disney World! Fuentes del Morro Pool at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort The Fuentes del Morro Pool at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort is going to be closed from January 2024 to late March 2024. Fuentes del Morro pool During this time, Disney says that “guests are welcome to swim in any of the five leisure pools” at Caribbean Beach Resort. Doubloon Lagoon Pool at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort — French Quarter The Doubloon Lagoon Pool at Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter will be closed from January 2024 to April 2024. Doubloon Lagoon Pool If you’re staying at this hotel during the pool’s closure, you can still go swimming at the Ol’ Man Island Pool at Port Orleans Riverside. We found $24 hotel rooms in Orlando! Disney World Water Parks Typhoon Lagoon Typhoon Lagoon is currently closed in Disney World, and the website does not yet list a reopening date. Typhoon Lagoon Disney World’s Blizzard Beach Water Park, however, is open! Click here to see the best rides at Blizzard Beach. Other Upcoming Closures Frozen Ever After — Temporarily Closing on January 24th Frozen Ever After will be closed in EPCOT on January 24th. Frozen Ever After The good news is that this is a very short closure — the Frozen ride should reopen on January 25th. Be on the lookout for these closures in Disney World when it’s cold outside! 6. We came, we saw, and… we LOVED the 2024 EPCOT Festival of the Arts! Festival of the Arts Everything was so colorful and fun on the first day of the festival. We enjoyed the entertainment, the chalk art, the paint-by-number mural, the merchandise, and of course the FOOD! We stopped by every single food booth at the festival to find out the good, the bad, and the ugly. We found our favorites, of course, but we also found which items are the BEST for using your brand-new Disney Dining Plan. It’s so exciting to be able to talk about the Disney Dining Plan, again! We have gone so long without it, we almost forgot how great it can be. As of January 9th, you can use your Dining Plan credits to pay for meals, snacks, and drinks anywhere they are accepted. And one of the places happens to be at the EPCOT festivals! Festival of the Arts Not every booth accepts the Dining Plan, but several do. As we stopped by each booth, we took note of which high-priced items accept a snack credit and are, therefore, most worth it to use your credits. We have come up with a list of the five most expensive items at the 2024 EPCOT Festival of the Arts that can be bought with a Dining Plan snack credit! Oh, and we’ve included a little review of each, too. Funnel Cakes Stand Menu (peep the DDP symbol!) Festival Funnel Cake $12 — Funnel Cake Stand We wanted to be mad at this dessert, but after we found out you can use a snack credit, it was hard to be. Crazy Chocolate Funnel Cake Sandwich This funnel cake sandwich turned out to be really good. It’s small but mighty. Normally. we wouldn’t recommend paying so much for something so small, but since you can use a snack credit, we say “Go for it!” It’s like a chocolate crispies cereal. Click Here to See the Full Review of this Booth! General Tso’s Chicken Shumai $10.75 — The Painted Panda General Tso’s Chicken Shumai We really enjoyed this dish! It was our favorite at this booth. The dumplings are filled with chicken that has great flavor and just enough heat to make it delicious. We wouldn’t call the whole meal spicy, though. Using a snack credit on these would be a great choice. Click Here to See the Full Review of This Booth! Carne Asada $10.50 — El Artista Hambriento This booth was one of our favorites, easily. Carne Asada You know we love cheese, so we adored this item. The beef sirloin was very tender, but we loved the grilled queso fresco. It was easily the best part of the meal. For this price, we would totally use a snack credit for it. Click Here to See the Full Review of This Booth! Roasted Bone Marrow $10.50 — Gourmet Landscapes You may have never thought you would eat bone marrow in a theme park. Roasted Bone Marrow But if you’re looking to be adventurous, a snack credit to purchase this could be a great way to not regret it if you don’t like it. Our reporter was surprised in a good way by the flavors in the dish, so maybe you’ll have to give it a shot! Click Here to See the Full Review of This Booth! Crème de Brie en Petit Pain $9.95 — L’Art de la Cuisine Francaise This is one of our favorites every year at this festival. Crème de Brie en Petit Pain It’s warm, ooey, gooey cheese inside a house-made bread bowl — you can’t go wrong. Using a snack credit for some phenomenal cheese and warm bread sounds like a great idea to us. Click Here to See the Full Review of This Booth! Wagyu Bun $9.75 — Goshiki The Wagyu Bun is new to the festival this year! Wagyu Bun It’s a steamed bun filled with American wagyu beef served with green shiso sauce. If you like the Satu’li Canteen cheeseburger pods, then you’re going to want to spend a snack credit on this! Our reporter said she likes it even more than the pods in Animal Kingdom. Click Here to See the Full Review of This Booth! Wild Mushroom Risotto $9.75 — Gourmet Landscapes The Wild Mushroom Risotto made our Best of the Fest list, and for that simple reason alone, you should use a snack credit on it. Wild Mushroom Risotto This plant-based dish has amazing flavors and was easily the best part of this booth for us. You don’t have to be vegan to appreciate this delicious option. Click Here to See the Full Review of This Booth! If you’re hoping to use a snack credit on any items at the festival (or anywhere else, for that matter), be sure to check the menu for the DDP symbol. 7. Being on a Disney Cruise is a whole OTHER kind of vacation. Seriously — it’s NOTHING like visiting Disney World and Disneyland. This is one POPULAR Disney Cruise Line duck That’s because a Disney Cruise is a completely different kind of vacation, and it’s one where guests tend to be more social because they’re seeing the same people for the length of their cruise. Some might say that guests are even friendlier on a cruise, and it certainly seems like they’re ready and willing to gift each other little gifts, including hidden rubber ducks. There’s just one problem: those hidden ducks go against Disney Cruise Line’s policy. Say what? Okay, let’s back up for a second. So there’s a longstanding tradition on Disney Cruises where guests bring little rubber duckies to hide all over the cruise ship for other guests to find. This isn’t a Disney-sanctioned activity but just one of those little traditions that cruisers have created over the years. Tiny Rubber Duck However, it’s been recently confirmed that Disney does not condone the practice of hiding ducks in public spaces on its cruise ships. According to a recent planDisney post, “I was advised that guests cannot hide things, such as rubber ducks in staterooms or public areas on the ship.” Cast Members will actively remove any ducks that they might find. The only duck allowed to hide However, there’s nothing that states that guests can’t give rubber ducks to other guests. For example, Fish Extenders are another thing on Disney Cruises. Basically, these are hanging gift bags that are hung on the “fish” or other little icons near each cabin door, usually with the names of cruisers on them. These bags are usually used as mailboxes for messages, but gifts can be left in them, including rubber ducks. Yep, Disney Cruisers have a whole set of their own traditions, and how fun is that? Disney Dream room door That’s not the only thing Disney Cruisers do. They also decorate their cabin doors, but note Disney’s official policy on that is that you can only use magnetic signs. You can’t use tape or any other kind of adhesive on those doors. Over-the-door hangers are also prohibited. So, if you’re planning on participating in some of these unofficial activities on Disney Cruise Line, be sure you know the rules before you get on the ship. 8. Every quarter, Disney shares its financial details with the world, detailing how much revenue the parks take in, streaming data, and how much money the company has taken in overall for that quarter. ©Pixar In 2023, The Walt Disney Company completed a series of company-wide layoffs, and it seems there could be more job cuts in the future. Reuters is reporting that Pixar Animation Studios is set to cut some jobs. Note that the jobs reportedly being cut are those that are no longer needed after the studio finished work on some shows and movies. Pixar hired extra staff for its Emeryville, California studio to finish some streaming shows. Now that those shows are complete, the studio has more staff than it needs. ©Pixar Pixar has not yet set a number on how many employees will lose their jobs. However, Reuters‘ source determined that the layoffs were not imminent, and they would not affect future theatrical work and releases. Billboard for Pixar’s ‘Elemental’ In 2023, Pixar cut 75 jobs, including the director of Lightyear, which did not do so well at the box office. This was the studio’s first significant round of lay-offs in over ten years. ©️Disney In 2024, Pixar has several upcoming theatrical releases, including re-releases of Soul, Luca, and Turning Red — films that were released to Disney+ due to the pandemic. Other 2024 releases include Inside Out 2 and Elio. A Toy Story sequel is also in the works. Stay tuned to DFB for more! Disney Announces Pixar Parade and Fireworks Show for 2024! 10. The wait is over. Holiday crowds have made their exit from Disney World! Magic Kingdom We’ve seen decorations come down and new merchandise replace the festive finds on the shelves, but one of the biggest things that has changed is the crowds. Overall it felt less crowded on a day-to-day basis this week, even though Park Passes were selling out for Annual Passholders on certain days. So what does this mean for the wait times? Well, let’s just say we think you’re going to like the news! Below, we will show you the average wait times from every attraction in Disney World over the past week. You’ll see that wait times took a major dip compared to last week, the first week of January. See for yourself! Magic Kingdom Starting in Magic Kingdom, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train had the longest average wait time of 80 minutes. Last week, the average wait time was 109 minutes, so the average has decreased significantly since then. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Next, Peter Pan’s Flight averaged 64 minutes, Space Mountain averaged 55 minutes, Jingle Cruise averaged 48 minutes, and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Haunted Mansion at 42 minutes. Average wait times held Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin and Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh at 33 minutes, Enchanted Tales with Belle at 30 minutes, Astro Orbiter at 29 minutes, followed by Pirates of the Caribbean at 28 minutes. Pirates of the Caribbean After that, “it’s a small world” averaged 19 minutes, Barnstormer featuring the Great Goofini averaged 20 minutes, Dumbo the Flying Elephant averaged 18 minutes, Tomorrowland Speedway and Magic Carpets of Aladdin averaged 17 minutes, Mickey’s PhilharMagic averaged 15 minutes, Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover averaged 13 minutes, and Mad Tea Party averaged 12 minutes. Winnie the Pooh Prince Charming Regal Carrousel averaged 11 minutes, Enchanted Tiki Room averaged 11 minutes, and other attractions like Hall of Presidents, Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse, Carousel of Progress, and Liberty Square Riverboat all tied at 5-minute average wait times. Carrousel The Country Bear Jamboree averaged a 14-minute wait, and Tom Sawyer Island was a walk-on this week. The NEW Magic Kingdom Mistake People Are Making Every Day EPCOT Heading over to EPCOT, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure took the top spot for the highest average wait time with 80 minutes, which went down a LOT from last week’s 127-minute average. Then, Frozen Ever After had an average wait time of 67 minutes. This is a decrease from last week’s 98-minute average. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure Test Track had a 63-minute average wait time this week. Next up is Soarin’ at 40 minutes, Mission: SPACE at 20 minutes, Spaceship Earth and Turtle Talk with Crush at 15 minutes, The Seas with Nemo and Friends at 11 minutes, Journey into Imagination at 11 minutes, Living with the Land at 10 minutes, and Gran Fiesta Tour at 9 minutes. Living With The Land Awesome Planet, Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along, Disney and Pixar Short Film Festival, Impressions de France, and Reflections of China had no wait times this week. We Spent $31 To Get This Treat in EPCOT — Was It Worth It? Hollywood Studios Slinky Dog Dash decreased this week from a 125-minute average to a 96-minute average. Rise of the Resistance is next in this park with 86 minutes, down quite a bit from 122 minutes last week. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster actually had the longest wait time in the park with a 103-minute average — this is due to its months-long closure that began on January 8th. Slinky Dog Dash Other wait times in the park decreased this week, including Tower of Terror at 61 minutes, Toy Story Mania at 58 minutes, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run at 57 minutes, and Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway at 54 minutes. Tower of Terror After that, Alien Swirling Saucers averaged 30 minutes, Star Tours — The Adventure Continues averaged 15 minutes, Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy averaged 15 minutes, Walt Disney Presents averaged 13 minutes, and Muppet*Vision 3D averaged 10 minutes. EVERYTHING Included With Your Hollywood Studios After Hours Event Ticket Animal Kingdom Now, let’s head over to Animal Kingdom! 11. It’s a New Year, which means the holiday snacks are officially gone from Disneyland. Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe While we’re waiting to indulge in some Lunar New Year goodies, though, we’ve got some new Disney treats to tell you about. Well, there are three NEW treats and a hot returning item at Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe, one of our FAVORITE counter-service restaurants in Disneyland. PLUS, another new treat landed over at Disney California Adventure. So come with us as we eat ALL FIVE. If you’ve ever visited Jolly Holiday, you’ve probably had that AMAZING Toasted Cheese sandwich there. Well, last year, that sandwich got an upgrade to become the Beef Birria Toasted Cheese Sandwich. During the holidays, the Beef Birria version of the sandwich fell off the menu, but now it’s back, and we’re diving into it again! We absolutely LOVED this sandwich last year, so we had big expectations. Beef Birria Toasted Cheese For $14.99, you get a Toasted Cheese Sandwich with Beef Birria, along with Pepper Jack, Onion, Cilantro, and Salsa Verde on Sourdough Bread, plus Consommé to dip it in. We’ll tell you now — this is still our #1 sandwich in Disneyland. The flavors and spices are ON POINT, with tender meat and the perfect amount of tang coming from the salsa verde. The Consommé is also flavorful, and when you dip the sandwich in it, it just all comes together perfectly. FULL of flavors Now, on to the new treats. If you love S’mores, we’ve got the treat for you. The S’mores Tart for $6.49 is made with Graham Cracker Shell filled with Dulce de Leche, Chocolate Sponge, and Chocolate Ganache, topped with a Toasted Marshmallow. We don’t know how Disney does it, but this little tart has a TON of rich flavor. S’mores Tart It’s served cold, so the cold ganache with the graham cracker crunch creates a nice texture. The Dulce de Leche is super creamy and also acts as a sort of glue to hold the whole thing together. The marshmallow on top is deliciously toasted. One bite of all those elements, and we were SOLD. It’s like a S’more but elevated. It IS rich, though, so it could be shareable. Very rich! Okay, on to the next treat. The Banoffee Pie for $7.49 is a Graham Cracker Shell filled with Dulce de Leche, Banana Diplomat Cream, and fresh Bananas, topped with Vanilla Bean Chantilly and Toffee Bits. Okay, where are our banana lovers? Because this is like an upgraded banana creme pie. It’s also served cold, but we found it light and airy. Banoffee Pie The graham cracker shell at the bottom of the pie is thin and soft, plus the Dulce de Leche pairs SO well with the banana flavor. It’s a very banana-forward dessert, so if you don’t like bananas, you won’t like this. We enjoyed the flavors and found that it wasn’t too overpowering. Our only wish is that we wanted more banana chunks. LOADS of banana flavor Jolly Holiday’s macarons are usually amazing, so we were excited to try the Cherry-Vanilla Macaron for $7.99. This Macaron has Cherry Buttercream and Vanilla Bean Crème sandwiched between White Macaron Shells, decorated with Gold Edible Glitter and Chocolate Flakes. Now note, these aren’t the usual small Macarons — this baby is BIG. Cherry-Vanilla Macaron Like a lot of Jolly Holiday’s macarons, the presentation on this is TOP NOTCH. They are PERFECT macarons — crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, plus it’s light and airy and melts in your mouth. The cherry drizzle on top adds a faint fruity taste. The vanilla bean creme is mild, but it pairs well with the cherry buttercream, where you get most of your flavor. Note that this thing is TART, so pucker up. It’s a bit tart Okay, one more to go! Whew! After all that, we made our way to Smokejumpers Grill in California Adventure to try the Raspberry Cheesecake Shake for $9.79. It’s a Raspberry Shake topped with Whipped Cream, Cheesecake Bites, and Fresh Raspberries. Well, this one wasn’t as MUCH a winner with us, although it was yummy. Raspberry Cheesecake Shake The raspberry shake part was delicious. We felt that cheesecake bites lacked flavor. All we got was something that tasted like plain old soggy cake. It might have made more sense to sprinkle them on top than have them at the bottom of the shake. By the time we got it, they were a mushy glob. We think Disney missed the mark on this one. It was…okay So there it is. FIVE treats, and we’re still here. We’ll be trying many other new snacks in Disneyland and Disney World, so stay tuned to DFB for more reviews. 12. “At Country Bear Hall you could be different and still fit in.” Country Bear Jamboree Country Bear Jamboree at Magic Kingdom in Disney World is certainly a unique experience. The show centers around animatronic bears who talk, sing, and play instruments to a usually giggling audience. Admittedly, as we progress further and further into the 21st century, the show has become more niche and a relic of the old days of the Disney Parks. This is likely why Disney is closing the show temporarily to give it an update. Disney hopes Country Bear Jamboree will become a headliner when it reopens — but will it actually? The attraction will close on January 27th, 2024 with the new premiere later this summer. The show that comes out will look pretty different than the one that exists now. ©Disney Disney Imagineers have promised a new act that will have the bears sing pop-country, rockabilly, Americana, and bluegrass. Although the iconic bears are returning, they will also sport new outfits and a new flare. Per Disney, “When the [new] show debuts, the bears will be reinterpreting favorite Disney songs in different genres of country music. Imagineers are envisioning the new experience as a homage to the classic musical revues in Nashville, and they’re working with Nashville musicians to get the authentic country sound.” The new show takes inspiration from classic variety shows from Nashville and even has real Nashville musicians involved in the new musical arrangements. For example, we already know we’ll see a rockabilly version of “Bare Necessities”! As is, Country Bear Jamboree is a light-hearted “country-and-western musical revue” that caters more so to an older crowd with big-time throwbacks and teetering-on-mildly-risqué innuendos. A staple at Magic Kingdom since 1971, Country Bear Jamboree was in much need of some TLC. ©Disney Disney Imagineers have promised, “The music is going to be amazing, and the show will still have the fun and friendly tone that we all love about the Country Bears.” It will feature easter eggs to the previous show as well as new, reinterpreted Disney songs in a variety of country music genres. So how will this new version play with the new era of Magic Kingdom guests? Country Bear Jamboree The current iteration of the show is pretty accessible and a little outdated (thus its accessibility). In fact, the version at Disneyland in California was removed decades ago and has largely been forgotten. So Disney fighting for this attraction at Magic Kingdom says a lot about their faith in this new version to succeed. At the end of the day, this new show is a gamble. If Disney delivers a fantastic new entertainment option that gives audiences a good time with fun music, it surely will garner attention. However, if the show disappoints, you could start to hear rumblings of angst about how Disney made a mistake in changing a Disney World classic. Sure, the Country Bear Jamboree has lost its shine over the years, but it still has a sect of parkgoers that truly appreciate it. Messing with that and not delivering on a new show could spell trouble for the attraction in the big picture. Country Bears in Frontierland Disney Imagineers have been delivering a lot of great things to Disney Parks all over the world recently so we have faith in this new version of Country Bear Jamboree and can’t wait to watch it! 13. Have you ever attended a Disney World After Hours event? After Hours in Magic Kingdom These special limited-ticketed events give you access to Disney World’s four theme parks on select days after the parks close (hence the After Hours name). You’ll get shorter lines for rides, an experience with fewer crowds, and FREE select snacks and drinks. But if you’re thinking about going to Magic Kingdom’s After Hours events, you might want to rethink it, especially if characters are a priority. So we recently attended two After Hours events, one in Disney’s Hollywood Studios and the other in Magic Kingdom. Both events had low wait times and low crowd levels. Both had free snacks. However, the After Hours event in Hollywood Studios brought out some roaming characters. We’re talking about characters we rarely see, including White Rabbit, Duffy, Pocahontas, and Meeko. Duffy at the Hollywood Studios After Hours event However, we didn’t have that same experience in Magic Kingdom. Now, you can still meet some characters in their usual spots, but the only two open locations are Town Square Theater, where you can meet Mickey, and Princess Fairytale Hall, where you can meet Disney Princesses. But we saw no roaming characters. We asked a Cast Member at Princess Fairytale Hall, and she told us that she had not heard anything about roaming characters at Magic Kingdom. Fantasyland in Magic Kingdom during an After Hours event In Hollywood Studios, we also saw Mickey and Minnie roaming around, so if characters are a priority for you during After Hours events, you might want to steer clear of the Magic Kingdom event and buy tickets for the Hollywood Studios After Hours events instead. You’ll find full details about that event here. If you’re still interested in the Magic Kingdom event, though, we’ve got all the details here. YUM! Ultimately, you’ll need to decide if an After Hours event is for you and your family (and if you’re not late-night people, the answer might be “no”) and then decide which suits your party’s needs best. Would you rather ride the PeopleMover a dozen times with no wait or interact with some RARE characters in Disney’s Hollywood Studios? It’s up to you! Stay tuned to DFB for more. 14. A lot has changed in Disney World in January 2024. Cinderella Castle The Disney Dining Plan officially returned, park-pass reservation rules changed for date-based tickets, and all-day park hopping is back! On January 9th, all three of these things were updated to their new rules. However, we found a big issue for Annual Passholders regarding park hopping. But now, it seems to have been fixed! Park pass reservations have officially been removed for all date-based tickets in Disney World! However, this excludes Annual Passholder tickets since they are not associated with dates. While Passholders will still need to make reservations for most days (except “Good-to-Go” days), they can enjoy all-day park hopping! Disney World Annual Passholder Magnet When we were trying out the new rules on January 9th, we noticed a bit of a hiccup in our plans. Since our reporters are all Annual Passholders, we quickly spotted a slight issue with Genie+ (the virtual assistant on the Disney World app). When we planned to park hop before 2PM, we were not able to make Lightning Lane selections for any other park outside of our reserved park until AFTER 2PM. This followed the old park hopping rules and was a real bummer. ©Disney At the time, we weren’t sure if this was a mistake or something that was going to be sticking around for Passholders. But now, we have confirmation that it is no longer a problem! On January 13th, we had a park pass reservation for Disney’s Animal Kingdom, but we wanted to hop over to EPCOT to ride Soarin’ Over California. ©Disney We decided to try making a Lightning Lane selection (Disney’s paid “skip-the-line” system) for Soarin’ right away in the morning, for a time before 2PM. Turns out, it worked! We got a Lightning Lane for 9:05AM-10:05AM for Soarin’, well before 2PM. ©Disney But we decided to try it again, just to be sure! We scanned into Animal Kingdom (where we had our reservation), then hopped over to EPCOT, rode Soarin’, and were able to book at Lightning Lane for Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway — all before 2PM! ©Disney We’re SO excited to see this change! This is a game-changer for Annual Passholders. With the all-day park hopping and this update to Genie+, it doesn’t matter a whole lot that you need a reservation (that’s just a minor inconvenience). We hope you enjoy your park hopping and Lightning Lane riding! For more Disney news, keep following DFB! Learn more about Good to Go Days here! 15. Celebrities are just like us! Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Okay, maybe they’re not COMPLETELY like us, but many celebrities love Disney as much as we do. John Stamos, for example, has a MASSIVE vintage Disney collection — we’ve also spotted him in Disney World a few times. Neil Patrick Harris has been to EPCOT so much that a bar there has dedicated a table to him. Even the stars of Breaking Bad have a Disney World connection. Well, ANOTHER celebrity was recently spotted enjoying Disney World. Grammy-winning singer and songwriter Michael Bublé recently took a vacation to Disney World (just like we often do) to enjoy a little magical time with his family. He posted a video on social media of him in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge taking in the EPIC Rise of the Resistance ride. Now, after watching this, we think Bublé juuuust might be a Star Wars fan. Turns out that Bublé is also a huge Disney fan. He took part in the 2020 Disney Holiday Singalong and has been spotted in Disney World multiple times. 16. A LOT changed in Disney World this week and our heads are still REELING. Magic Kingdom Okay, so first, we saw the Disney Dining Plan return (and, yes, it’s a little different now). We also saw all-day park hopping come back to Disney World. We even saw the end of Park Pass Reservations for most Disney World guests, although that doesn’t include Annual Passholders. Well, Passholders, we’ve got a bit of bad news to share about Magic Kingdom today. So you may know that Disney World Annual Passholders are still required to make Park Pass Reservations, except for days that Disney deems as “good-to-go.” Well, today, January 12th, is NOT one of those days, so Park Pass Reservations are required for Annual Passholders — and we just noticed that Magic Kingdom is completely SOLD OUT for the day for those with an IncrediPass and Sorcerer Pass (the other two tiers of Annual Passholders are already blocked out). ©Disney Now, note that Annual Passholders do NOT need Park Pass Reservations if they wait until 2PM to visit the parks. However, Annual Passholders can also park hop all day with everyone else, so they could potentially make a reservation for a park other than Magic Kingdom and then park hop to Magic Kingdom later. Animal Kingdom We also checked the price of Genie+ for the day. Genie+ costs $25 today for Magic Kingdom and Multiple Parks, $18 for EPCOT, $22 for Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and $16 for Disney’s Animal Kingdom. This is up from January 12th’s price, which saw Magic Kingdom and Multiple Parks priced at $23, but it’s lower than last week’s prices, which went up as high as $27. ©Disney So, if you’re an Annual Passholdere planning to visit a park before heading over to Magic Kingdom today, please keep that in mind. We’ll continue to keep an eye on things, so stay tuned to DFB for more. Disney’s Annual Passholder ‘Good-to-Go’ Days Are Now LIVE! 17. Getting sick in Disney. A dreaded thought to say the least. We’ve heard our friends and family talk about it and we’ve read the blog posts, but still we think “Ah, that won’t happen to me.” Disneyland At least that’s what I thought…until it did! I got the stomach flu in Disney and so did my 11 month baby. Here’s what I wish I had done differently on our trip! Hand Sanitizer After Every Attraction Get some sani and attach it where you can see it whether that be on a backpack, diaper bag, purse, or stroller! Using it after eating, after using the restroom even after washing your hands, and after getting off each and every attraction will likely help kill off some of those bad germs! Sanitizer Station I used it here and there but not as often as I should have and I really think it would have helped! Washing Hands on Group Bathroom Breaks I visited with a large group, which means LOTS of bathroom breaks. Even though I didn’t need to use the restroom during all of these breaks, I do wish I would have just hopped into the bathroom to quickly wash my hands. We were just waiting around during those times anyways, so I wouldn’t have been missing anything and it would have just help send some of those germs down the drain! Wipes Wipes Wipes Our trip to Disneyland was my little one’s first time at Disney. He loves to explore whether that be touching everything in site or crawling around. While I did my best to wipe his hands after eating or touching something that seemed nasty, I really wish I would have prioritized this more. Wiping his hands after getting off a ride, touching a rail, crawling around, etc. Clorox Wipes He also loves to throw his paci. We brought our electric cleaner and some wipes, but in the hustle and bustle of a trip it’s so easy to just toss in back in the stroller or to just run it under some water in the bathroom and call it “clean.” Moms, I know ya see me on this!! Him getting sick never even crossed my mind until it happened and he passed it off to me, and I don’t want the same thing happening to you or your little one — it was miserable! So, really prioritize cleaning those little hands. Next time I go, I might even set a little alarm just so I’m making sure to clean them every 30 mins or every hour so I don’t forget when things get busy! Shoes My little one was in the stroller for most of the trip and he doesn’t walk yet. He also doesn’t wear shoes too often and we live in Texas where it’s really hot, so most of the time he’s barefoot. To me, that seemed normal on the trip. Looking back, I feel like things would have just been cleaner all together if he had some shoes or at least some socks on while at the parks. Those bare little feet sure are cute but they are total germ collectors! Smarter Sharing Luckily, my son and I were the only two who got sick out of our huge group of 12, but looking back we could have easily passed our tummy bug to other people in our group. Shanghai Holiday Kitchen Fill Spread In order to try all of the items around the parks and to save money, my family often shares on our trips. Smarter sharing is something we should probably start doing on our next vacation. Separate straws in drinks and cutting food items in half is the easiest way to avoid spreading germs while still be able to share. Sleep/Nutrients Not forgetting the basics. We went HARD on our trip. We were going to bed later than my baby was used to and waking up and starting our day early as well. I know that it had to be a lot on his little body because it was a lot on mine. I just wanted us to see and do as much as we could to feel like we were “getting our moneys worth” out of our short three day trip. But seriously, remembering the basics like getting 8 hours of sleep probably would have really helped our situation. Grand Californian I also was so excited for him to try new things. We didn’t do lots of sugar and salt, of course, but he wasn’t having meals filled with loads of fruits and veggies like he usually does and neither was I. Working in a few more of these probably would have helped our immune systems out as well. Next time, I’m likely going to Instacart some fruits and things like that for snacks so we can just have them in our bags when we need them. Extra Vitamin C I reached out to a few of our reporters who are in the parks each and every day and they shared that they take Vitamin C each morning before they go into the parks. They also really stressed keeping yourself hydrated! Overall Takeaways Luckily, we didn’t get sick until the day we arrived at home, so I didn’t have to have the FOMO of sitting in our room while the rest of our group was having fun. But I do want to stress, if you or your little one is sick, please go see a nurse or request one come up to your room. People keep getting sick in the parks because people are continuing to go even when they are ill. Coming home sick from a Disney trip (even a super magical and fun one) can really put a damper on the memories and the experience. If I could do it all again, I would have really stressed what I chatted about above. Washing my hands more, cleaning my babies hands like it was my job, getting a good nights sleep. If you are planning on going to Disney anytime soon, I suggest having a little healthy game plan so that you don’t get sick too! 21. While they might not be from an official booth, there was no way we were going to skip these iconic Disney festival items! Joffrey’s in EPCOT Joffrey’s is a Disney institute, and for many of us, this is our first stop on any long park day. And on a day like the opening of the EPCOT Festival of the Arts, coffee is basically a necessity. But you can get more than just coffee at Joffrey’s today. There are some unique drinks at different locations across EPCOT, and you can learn all about them here! As soon as we got inside EPCOT, we headed over to Joffrey’s. This year, Joffrey’s mixing it up with some caffeinated options featuring their famous cold brew and a few fruity lemonade options that you can customize with an adult twist! Menu If you feel the need for some caffeine, then you’ll need to head over to the Joffrey’s location in World Discovery (near Mission: SPACE) for the Pistachio Palette Cold Brew or venture to the kiosk just past the Canada pavilion for the Realism Roseberry Cold Brew. If you crave something fruity and refreshing, then set your path over toward the Joffrey’s at Showcase Plaza (Near Disney Traders) for the Brushstroke Berry Bliss, and finally over at the American Adventure location for the Pastel Pineberry Frost. ©Disney Now that we’ve taken a look at the menu, let’s dive into all of the options! Drinks First up, we grabbed the Pistachio Palette Cold Brew at the World Discovery location. This is described as a “flavorful masterpiece featuring Joffrey’s Shakin’ Jamaican Cold Brew, pistachio syrup, and milk topped with whipped cream and colorful sprinkles” for $6.49. World Discover Joffrey’s Menu An alcoholic version is available with Bailey’s Irish Cream Liqueur for $14.99. The pistachio flavor is very light in a way most people will probably appreciate. Even if you’re NOT a big fan of pistachio treats, this one is quite mild, and the flavor is subtle. Pistachio Palette Cold Brew On the other hand, if you’re a big fan of desserts like pistachio pudding and pistachio ice cream, you may notice that this doesn’t pack the same kind of punch; it’s almost like a pistachio queitttttly whispered into the cold brew. The whipped cream topping and green sugar sprinkles don’t add much to this other than a little hit of sugar. Overall, we would order this again — give it a try if you’re looking for a new drink! The topping is a weird color, we know. Next, we grabbed the Realism Roseberry Cold Brew at the location near the Canada Pavilion. This is described as a “lively swirl of flavors featuring Joffrey’s Shakin’ Jamaican Cold Brew, strawberry rose syrup, and milk topped with whipped cream and colorful sprinkles” for $6.49. An alcoholic version is available with Bailey’s Irish Cream Liqueur for $14.99. Joffrey’s near Canada pavilion We never thought we would ever enjoy rose syrup in cold brew, but this proved us wrong! Pairing it with the strawberry was a fantastic choice and made for a really great flavor. We would say this is a bit sweeter than other cold brew coffees, but it wasn’t overpowering. Even if you’re a picky eater who enjoys coffee, we say give this one a try! It’s super unique and we think everyone should experience it. Realism Roseberry Cold Brew We continued our Joffrey’s quest with the Brushstroke Berry Bliss at the Showcase Plaza location near Disney Traders. This is described as a “vibrant combination of frozen lemon, Minute Maid Lemonade, raspberry syrup, and iced tea garnished with lemon” for $6.49. An alcoholic version is available with Grey Goose Vodka for $14.99. Joffrey’s Showcase Plaza Menu This is basically a delicious, grown-up slushy. It is sweet but not overwhelmingly syrupy. When you hear “slushy,” you might want to dismiss this drink, but the Brushstroke Berry Bliss is more sophisticated than one might expect. Upon first sip, we got a sour flavor that eventually settled into a sweet tea with a hint of berry. It’s really more of a lemon iced tea with a hint of berry. It’s quite refreshing, and we would recommend it to anyone! Brushstroke Berry Bliss Finally, we wrapped up our Joffrey’s EPCOT Crawl with the Pastel Pineberry Frost at the American Adventure location. This is described as a “pastel work of art featuring frozen lemon, Minute Maid Lemonade, and pineberry syrup garnished with lemon” for $6.49. An alcoholic version is available with Grey Goose Vodka for $14.99. The American Adventure Joffrey’s Menu This one is MUCH sweeter than the Brushstroke Berry Bliss. That said, it wasn’t sickly sweet — we still tasted a tart flavor at first, but that tartness then transitioned into a mild yet satisfying strawberry flavor. When we say strawberry — don’t picture that artificial strawberry soda taste. Instead, this had a mild berry flavor with just the right amount of sweetness. This was yet another grown-up slushy that is cool and refreshing. We will order it again! While we didn’t get the spirited version, we have a feeling this would be even BETTER with the Grey Goose Vodka. OVERALL So, should you try one of these? Yes! Overall, the fruity lemonade drinks were pretty sugary, but those cool slushy drinks were a surprising win with elevated and complex flavors. We really think there’s something at this booth for everyone. If you love sweet drinks, you might want to try them or treat your kids to one. Don’t sleep on Joffrey’s! 22. Disney World has many rules, many of which make perfect sense for a theme park. Mickey in Hollywood Studios! However, Disney also some other ones you may not expect. Rules can change between the parks and Disney’s hotels, and we’re always here to help you navigate everything before your trip begins so you’re not caught off guard. Recently we saw a rule posted that we’re…frankly kind of worried that it had to be written out. While we were walking around EPCOT, we stopped by the Liquid Layer Splash Pad, which is a small area in EPCOT that has some misters to keep you cool on hot days. It’s located right between Mission: SPACE and Test Track, and it seems that there’s a new rule that had to be written out to be clear. Uh… Yep, see that second to last rule? “Do not use fountain if you are ill with diarrhea.” That’s really not an image we wanted to have in our minds today. It’s also very ironic to us that the rule is listed for the splash pad named “liquid layer” — just us? Okay, moving on. Fuentes del Morro pool And to be PERFECTLY clear, if you’re sick with diarrhea on your Disney World vacation, we humbly suggest that you stay isolated in your room in case it’s something that can be contagious to other people. And yes, please ESPECIALLY don’t get in any bodies of water that other people swim in/interact with. Big Blue Pool While getting sick before or during your Disney World trip is the worst (trust us, WE KNOW), it’s important to try your best to not spread germs to other people around the parks. If you find yourself sick on your trip and don’t feel well enough to leave your hotel room for a doctor’s visit, you can do virtual visits via AdventHealth, the official health partner of Disney World. AdventHealth ER near Disney World If you need medication after your virtual visit, it can even be delivered to your Disney World hotel! While missing out on Disney World fun is miserable, if your body needs rest, that’s what you should give it. As always, stay tuned to DFB for all the latest Disney news. 23. The 2024 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts is HERE — but how do you know which eats and drinks to get when there are SO many options? Festival of the Arts Should you go for the new menu items? Which returning classics are can’t-miss? And how can you make sure that you try all the BEST stuff? Don’t worry — we’re here to help you find the most delicious things when you visit the festival. Here’s our complete list of the very BEST eats and drinks at the 2024 EPCOT Festival of the Arts. New Bests Grilled Marinated Skirt Steak at The Craftsman’s Courtyard The Skirt Steak with the mushrooms is a WINNING combination. Grilled Marinated Skirt Steak The steak was SO tender, but there was still enough fat to keep it chewy. The bread was light and complemented the steak quite nicely. We seriously enjoyed everything at this booth and FULLY recommend it to you. We’re still thinking about that steak. Sigh. Click here to see our full review of The Craftsman’s Courtyard! Crazy Chocolate Funnel Cake Sandwich at The Funnel Cake Stand This tastes very similar to Cocoa Crispies cereal, and it was actually pretty delicious! Be warned, though — it is pretty expensive. Luckily, we have a (sort of) solution. Crazy Chocolate Funnel Cake Sandwich The flavors all come together as a kind of chocolate cereal-flavored ice cream sundae, and we didn’t mind that one bit. If you’re using the Dining Plan, you can get this funnel cake with a snack credit, which is a REALLY good deal since it’s $12. How’s THAT for a DFB snack hack? Click here to see our full review of The Funnel Cake Stand! Grilled Pork Belly at The Craftsman’s Courtyard Let’s all take a moment to appreciate raclette cheese and the fact that it exists. OK? OK. Was this cooked well? Yes. Did we like the flavor profile? Yes. Was it worth the price? Yes. That’s THREE “yes”s, people. Grilled Pork Belly These flavors just exploded in our mouths. The greens and tomato were soft against the lightly spiced pork belly, and all that loveliness was placed on top of a soft bread covered with a salsa verde cream. SHEER PERFECTION. You can try this dish for $6.75. Click here to see our full review of The Craftsman’s Courtyard! Tostada de Langosta at El Artista Hambriento Woohoo — this was AMAZING. It’s one of the BEST things we’ve eaten today! (Which makes sense since it made its way onto this list.) Tostada de Langosta The Tostada de Langosta is a new item for 2024, and you can try it for $8.The lobster and the aioli work really well together, and there’s a bit of spice that’s not overwhelming. The guac was really fresh, and the cabbage added a nice crunch to it all. Click here to see our full review of El Artista Hambriento! Torta Ricotta di Cioccolata at L’Arte di Mangiare This cheesecake is DELICIOUS. First of all, can we talk about that plating?! Now THAT is a pretty cheesecake. Torta Ricotta di Cioccolata Sure, it’s a little standard (it’s cheesecake), but the chocolatey taste gives it the “wow” factor we were hoping for in this dish. You can try this new dessert for $8. Click here to see our full review of L’Arte di Mangiare! Saumon Fumé Mousse at L’Art de la Cuisine Francaise Look, we get it. It looks a little weird. Smoked salmon mousse? Huh? You could go as far as saying it looks GROSS. But wait! The flavors here come together in a surprising yet magical way. Saumon Fumé Mousse et Aspic, Blini et Fromage de Chevre The salmon has a nice texture — it’s got that nice, buttery flavor we’ve come to love in a good salmon. The mousse is soft and creamy, and if you’re willing to embrace the soft textures in this fish dish, this is WELL WORTH a try. Be brave — you won’t regret it! It’s priced at $7.95. Click here to see our full review of L’Art de la Cuisine Francaise! Returning Bests Rainbow Cake at Figment’s Inspiration Station at The Odyssey We loved the Rainbow Cake with freeze-dried Skittles last year, and now it’s BACK for 2024! Rainbow Cake with freeze-dried SKITTLES bite sized candies This cake was wonderfully moist, with all of those layers of icing in between the cake. It was almost like a Zebra cake, but BETTER. The freeze-dried Skittles are a little bit strange (consistency-wise), but they somehow worked pretty well when combined with the cake. This is a gorgeous dessert that’ll light up your Instagram and your taste buds! Get it for $5.50. Click here to see our full review of Figment’s Inspiration Station! Carne Asada at El Artista Hambriento One of our favorite dishes from El Artista Hambriento is BACK this year! The Carne Asada was fantastic last year, but it’s changed just a little bit in 2024. This is Chipotle-marinated beef sirloin (same as in 2023), but now it’s topped with grilled queso fresco, Nopales salad with queso fresco foam, and chicharron dust. Carne Asada Even with the changes, this is still a best of the fest in our opinion! You can get it for $10.50. The meat was sooo tender, but the grilled queso fresco was the best part of this dish. It added a really deliciously cheesy flavor to the whole thing. One word: YUM! See our FULL review of El Artista Hambriento here Tomato Soup With Pimento Cheese, Bacon, and Fried Green Tomato Grilled Cheese at Pop Eats Our next item takes us to Pop Eats for a fantastic, returning grilled cheese creation! This beauty has pimento cheese, bacon, and fried green tomatoes — YUM!! Plus, it comes with the lovely little tomato soup. This little meal costs $6.50. We loved this last year, with the savory, creamy soup and the not-too-spicy sandwich. Tomato Soup with pimento cheese, bacon, and fried green tomato grilled cheese While the classic grilled cheese sandwich paired with the soup (another option at this booth) is tasty, this elevated grilled cheese takes things to another level! There’s a bit of spice (not heat, just spice) from the pimento, and all of the flavors pair SO well together. But take our advice — dip that grilled cheese in the soup! It’s a partnership here, and the elements combined are what make this a STAR. See more about Pop Eats here! Hummingbird Cake at The Artist’s Table If you’ve had the Hummingbird Cake from Homecomin’ in Disney Springs, you likely know just how incredibly delicious this treat can be. The festival’s take on this classic treat was new last year, and it’s back in 2024. Hummingbird Cake The cake is a little different this year than in 2023. This year, it’s banana and pecan cake dipped in cream cheese icing with caramel sauce and warm pineapple compote and is priced at $4.75. This was a very decadent dessert. It reminded us of a ginger spice cake covered in the icing of a cinnamon roll. We really enjoyed it again this year! See our full review of The Artist’s Table here! Beef Wellington at Cuisine Classique The Beef Wellington was at The Artist’s Table in 2022, at The Craftsman’s Courtyard in 2023, and now it’s at Cuisine Classique. No matter where this dish travels to, it remains a MUST-get! Beef Wellington The dish features Mushroom duxelles, prosciutto, and puff pastry with red wine demi-glace and baby vegetables, and is priced at $8.75. It’s a popular dish and a frequent favorite of ours. The best part is the red wine demi-glace – y’all, we can’t EVEN because it is spectacular. When we just tried the Beef Wellington without, we were like “okay, it’s fine.” But the demi-glace takes it up a lot of notches. It adds sweet and savory flavors, moisture, and complexity. Click here for more about Cuisine Classique! Deconstructed Key Lime Pie at The Deconstructed Dish Need a sweet treat to balance the savory snacks? Stop by The Deconstructed Dish for the Deconstructed Key Lime Pie! This dish is made with Flexible Key lime curd, “Key lime” mousse, graham cracker cake, and meringues. It’s $6.50 and is also part of the Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine (get 5 of the 7 designated items and you can get a free prize!). Deconstructed Key Lime Pie: Flexible Key Lime Curd, “Key Lime” Mousse, Graham Cracker Cake, and Meringues This dish has generally been fabulous and this year it WOWED us once again. The mousse is light and refreshing, the graham cracker cake goes well with the dish as a whole, and it’s just delicious. If you’re a key lime pie fan, don’t miss your chance to have it in this unique and beautiful way! Click here to get more details about The Deconstructed Dish! Deconstructed BLT at The Deconstructed Dish But Key Lime Pie isn’t the only deconstructed dish making our returning bests list this year. The Deconstructed BLT is BACK this year, and we couldn’t be happier! Deconstructed BLT: Pork belly, onion bread pudding, watercress espuma, and tomato jam This year, the dish is made with pork belly, onion bread pudding, watercress espuma, and tomato jam. The only difference is that it doesn’t have the soft-poached egg this year. It’s priced at $7.25. This deconstructed dish looks a little different than it did last year, but don’t let that fool you — it’s still just as tasty. You can certainly enjoy everything separately, but putting it all together makes it even better. The tomato jam is still really sweet this year, but it’s a great compliment to everything else. Get full details about The Deconstructed Dish here! Wild Mushroom Risotto at Gourmet Landscapes If you love mushrooms, cheese, and deliciously savory flavors in general, do NOT overlook the Wild Mushroom Risotto at Gourmet Landscapes, which has made our “best of the fest” list many times. This has been a LONG-time DFB favorite, and it can be all yours for $9.75 this year. The dish is served with truffle shavings and zinfandel reduction, and it’s worth every penny. Wild Mushroom Risotto It is wonderfully rich and thick. Pair that with the mushroom flavor that really comes through and the delicious parmesan cheese and DING! DING! DING! you have a WINNER. See more about Gourmet Landscapes here! Red Wine-Braised Beef Short Rib at Pastoral Palate If you love beef and want something savory, look no further. This returning short rib comes with parsnip purée, broccolini, baby tomatoes, and balsamic glaze, and it’s priced at $8.75. It’s WONDERFUL! Red Wine-braised Beef Short Rib The short ribs were full of flavor and not too salty, the balsamic glaze was awesome, the parsnip puree was creamy, and when all combined together, it made for a delicious bite! See our full review of the Pastoral Palate booth here! Chorizo and Potato Empanada at Vibrante & Vívido C’mon folks, just LOOK at this beauty!!! The Chorizo and Potato Empanada is a delicious pick at the Festival of the Arts. It is served with turmeric aïoli and annatto aïoli and is a Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine item, too, so it’ll help you work toward that FREE prize! Chorizo and Potato Empanada We noticed a lot of folks talking about the Empanada, and now that we’ve had it, we GET IT. It’s beautiful. It’s also filled with so much chorizo that it could be the kind of snack that would hold you over until you can get a full meal. Be warned, though — that chorizo packs some heat. We have a feeling it could please a lot of people out there. Get it for $6.75. Get full details on the Vibrante & Vívido booth HERE! Honorable Mentions While these may not be “full” best of the fest winners, we did want to highlight them because they were particularly good! Sushi Donut at Goshiki (Japan) The Sushi Donut is a long-time favorite at the Goshiki booth, and for good reason! This is a donut-shaped sushi item featuring salmon, tuna, shrimp, cucumber, and sesame seed over a decorated plate of wasabi aïoli, sriracha aïoli, and eel sauce. It’s a popular pick that is particularly fun because of its shape. Plus, the colorful nature of the sushi donut makes it awesome to photograph. In terms of taste, when we’ve had it in the past, the fish has been really fresh and it practically melts in your mouth! Plus, the spicy sauces add a great layer of flavor. Sushi Donut It was basically the same this year, but we do think that it needs some additional soy sauce just because of how much rice there is. Still, it’s an iconic Festival eat. Don’t miss your chance to pick this up for a limited time for $8.75. Get more details about the Goshiki booth here. Char Siu Pork Bun at The Painted Panda (China) At The Painted Panda booth, you’ll find the tasty Char Siu Pork Bun! Essentially, this is pork with a tasty sauce on a bao bun — simple yet delicious! In 2022, we described this item as “glorious” and in 2023, it was quite good once again! The pork was tougher last year than it had been in the past, but this year, the bao bun tasted fresh, soft, and pillowy, and the pork has a nice chew and a very smoky, savory flavor. Char Siu Pork Bun It delivers year after year and we’re SO glad it’s back. This beauty can be all yours for $8.50. See more about The Painted Panda booth here! Cast Iron-roasted P.E.I. Mussels from Cuisine Classique Mussels in the middle of a theme park? The dream can be a reality if you stop by Cuisine Classique! Last year, they were at the Craftsman’s Courtyard booth, but this year they’ve moved to Cuisine Classique. These mussels are served with sautéed tomatoes, garlic, and fresh herbs and can be yours for $8. Cast Iron-roasted P.E.I. mussels When we’ve had these in the past, they’ve been SUPER tasty! The Mussels were perfectly cooked. The main flavors are garlic and red chili flake for just a bit of kick. These are worth trying if you love Mussels. Click here for full details on Cuisine Classique. Crème de Brie en Petit Pain at L’Art de la Cuisine Francaise (France) Warm creamy brie in a house-made bread bowl — seriously, what’s NOT to love?! This dish is typically a hit and we were thrilled to see it return. However, last year, the portion size was a little bit small, and the brie didn’t quite deliver on flavor. This year, this dish is creamy, the cheese is soft and smooth, and the bread is nice and warm. This is a heartwarming, cozy (yet elevated!) snack that we will recommend over and over again. Crème de Brie en Petit Pain If you love melty cheese and bread, get this ASAP. You can try it for $9.95. Click here for full details on the Cuisine Francaise booth! Frozen French Martini at L’Art de la Cuisine Francaise (France) If you are looking for a cool, delicious, and refreshing drink to enjoy at the Festival on a hot Florida day, we have it right here! The Frozen French Martini is a returning favorite made with Grey Goose Vodka, vodka, Chambord liqueur, pineapple, orange, and grape juices with lemon-lime foam. Frozen French Martini The combination of flavors is lovely here and results in a sweet and refreshing drink that’s easy to sip on as you stroll through EPCOT. Grab the drink for $15.25! See the full menu of this booth and more details here! Smokey Banana Bliss Margarita at El Artista Hambriento Banana margarita? YES! This one has real banana purée in it, along with some other tasty ingredients like Ten to One Rum, Ilegal Mezcal Joven, and lime juice. Intrigued yet? Smokey Banana Bliss Margarita This was absolutely DELICIOUS! The banana flavor is really strong because it’s puree instead of just a syrup. There’s a hint of smokiness and a bit of rum, but it’s mostly banana coming through. We really loved this drink! Try it for $15.50. See our FULL review of El Artista Hambriento here Best Booth And the BEST booth of the Festival is… WINNER — The Craftsman’s Courtyard We feel very passionate about this choice. EVERYTHING we tried at this booth was a winner. From the steak to the coffee old fashioned cocktail, this booth made us so. happy. Craftsman’s Courtyard Full Spread Do yourself a favor and go visit this booth. It’s definitely geared toward meat lovers, but MAN was that meat cooked well. Everything was tender, juicy, and flavorful. We will keep coming back to this booth throughout the festival. WOO! Click here for our FULL review of the booth! Runner Up — Pop Eats Pop Eats is an annual favorite of ours. It’s grilled cheese and soup — what more can we possibly ask for?! Our particular favorite here is the grilled cheese with pimento cheese, bacon, and fried green tomatoes, but really, the plain grilled cheese is great, too! 2024 Full Spread Even the new dessert was fabulous — just look how pretty it is! Yeah, we’re STILL obsessed with this booth. Click here for our FULL review of the booth! Runner Up — L’Art de la Cuisine Francaise (France) France brought its A-game this year! From the inventive new salmon dishes to that sweet martini, we were pleasantly surprised by EVERYTHING we tried! France Full Spread Of course, the cheesy brie bread bowl is a CLASSIC. You may have to get past the looks of some of these menu items, but we promise — this booth has some WINNERS! Click here for our FULL BOOTH review! Best of the Fest for Kids Artist Palette Jumbo Chocolate Chip Cookie at Refreshment Port If you want something that’ll keep your kiddos entertained, the Artist Palette Jumbo Cookie is a great choice! In terms of its taste, it’s a regular, standard chocolate chip cookie. So, there’s nothing special about that, but it is a good thing for those with picky palettes. It’s a soft chocolate chip cookie! The design is really what makes it a standout for kiddos! It has different “paint” (icing) colors on it with a little paintbrush so kiddos can have a BLAST coloring their cookie before they devour it. Grab the cookie for $5.50. Click here to see more about the cookie! Grape Smoothie with Freeze-Dried SKITTLES at Figment’s Inspiration Station at The Odyssey The freeze-dried SKITTLES return AGAIN! While the Rainbow Cake with these beauties is something we think everyone would enjoy, the Grape Smoothie with freeze-dried Skittles is a perfect pick for little ones. The drink definitely has a strong artificial grape flavor, so be warned. If that sounds like heaven for your kiddo, then do NOT miss this! Grape smoothie! The best part about this item is that you get to keep the souvenir Figment cup it comes in. So, let your kid drink the smoothie and keep the cup for yourself! Get one for $5.75. Check out our FULL review of this Figment-inspired booth here. Mozzarella Fritta at L’Arte de Mangiare (Italy) If, like with the cookie situation, you’ve got a kiddo that likes paint and creativity, and they like CHEESE, then check out the Mozzarella Fritta at L’Arte de Mangiare. This is a flash-fried breaded fresh mozzarella with artist palette condiments, and it is priced at $8.50. Mozzarella Fritta: Flash-fried breaded fresh mozzarella with artist palette condiments Basically, it’s a fancy cheese puck with toppings that is a create-your-own art project! The presentation is fun, but it is expensive for what you get. Still, if you have a little one who likes cheese and sauces and art, this could be a fun buy! See our full review of the Italy booth here! Best Plant-Based Item When it comes to plant-based items, we’re giving that award to the Wild Mushroom Risotto at Gourmet Landscapes. 25. Do you desire to live luxuriously? EPCOT currently has an offering that might be just what you’re looking for! Deco Delights The 2024 EPCOT Festival of the Arts is underway and with that come some elegant offerings. From food studios with tasty treats to artistic performances to colorful souvenirs, EPCOT is the place to be from January 12th through February 19th, 2024. We have you covered with a full guide to the festival — but we especially want to highlight Deco Delights. Here’s everything you need to know about this festival booth! Menu Over at Deco Delights, you’ll find a variety of beverages and treats. Regarding food, Deco Delights has only one offering, but it is a new sampler that offers a Neopolitan Dessert Trio. As for drinks, each beverage is a returnee from last year’s Festival of the Arts. Deco Delights menu With the menu down, let’s actually look into how everything tasted this year! Eats First up, we grabbed the Neopolitan Dessert Trio. The trio includes a chocolate tart, vanilla bean cheesecake, and a strawberry mousse. The trio is also a Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine item. It’s $5.25 and DDP-approved! Neapolitan Dessert Trio The trio was ok. It’s a mouse and a cheesecake that also seems more like a mousse. The strawberry mousse was very subtly strawberry-flavored. We tasted more of the white chocolate than the strawberry. The vanilla bean cheesecake was our favorite of the three. The base was a great crunchy touch to the very soft snacks. The chocolate is milk chocolate. In general, this trio isn’t flavorfully anything special, but it is adorable! vanilla bean cheesecake Ok, let’s move on to drinks! Drinks In terms of drinks at this booth, we got Espresso Martini. Last year, we found this drink to be one of the strongest drinks we’ve EVER had at an EPCOT festival and ideal if you needed a kick in the pants. It features Boyd & Blair Potato Vodka and is $12. Espresso Martini This is a pre-mixed drink. It’s very much coffee-flavored. This seemed like it was coffee and maybe a hint of the vodka. It is certainly not strong in terms of alcohol, but it is strong coffee. Coffee lovers would probably love this, whereas if you don’t like bitter coffee, you’ll probably want to stay away. Espresso Martini There are three beers also available at this booth that you purchase individually for $5.75 for 6 ounces or $9.75 for 12 ounces. Or you can opt to get them all in sample sizes as part of the beer flight for $10.25. The options include 3 Daughters Brewing Strawberry Blonde Nitro, 81Bay Brewing Co. Vanilla Porter, and the Playalinda Brewing Co. Milk Stout OVERALL Overall, this booth doesn’t have a whole lot to add to the mix. It’s cute and certainly Instagramable, but if you’re looking for a more flavor-forward booth, we would recommend trying elsewhere. Deco Delights That’s it for this booth, but there’s a LOT more where that came from! Click here to see FULL reviews of EVERY. SINGLE. BOOTH. at the Festival of the Arts!
