Choosing where you’re staying for your next Disney World hotel can get a little overwhelming given there are so many hotels to choose between. One of the most budget-conscious options is Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. Disney’s Art of Animation Resort You may be looking for a solid hotel choice that’s not experiencing ongoing construction, can accommodate more people in a room, and is frequently compatible with Disney hotel discounts offered at various points through the year, but we’ve got a few things we want to warn you about when choosing to stay here. Before we get into it, AJ recently ranked all of the Disney World hotels, and you can watch that video right here. Staying at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort can certainly have its perks. It’s got great theming featuring some familiar Disney Pixar characters, a decent-sized property with a gorgeous lake view of Hourglass Lake, beautifully themed buildings that have larger-than-life Disney characters at the ready for incredible photo ops, and a pool that plays music underwater! What’s not to love here? The theming here is just a bit better It’s not always sunshine and rainbows for us every time we’ve chosen to call this home during our Disney World vacation. Here’s what we’ve run into regularly! Bad Bus Luck Maybe it’s just us but our bad luck seems to be primarily concentrated around buses. Bus Transportation at Art of Animation Resort You know the phrase, “just missed the train”? It’s like that but with the Disney transportation buses. We’re either arriving just as the bus is pulling away or the line for the bus is so long we don’t make the bus that’s currently filling. Either way, it’s a bummer for the moment, but usually, there’s another bus that’s not too far behind. Limited Cell Service in Room Buildings Oh yeah, the dreaded dead zones when it comes to cell service. They seem to have plenty of those here. Art of Animation If you find yourself completely without cell service or having difficulty keeping a conversation inside the room buildings know you’re not alone. Don’t be surprised if you have to connect to the wifi or step outside of the building to place a call or surf the internet; it’s just spotty at best. Being Moved To A Different Room We get it, things happen from time to time that are simply out of our control, but some of us have experienced a streak of bad luck in choosing rooms. Finding Nemo Room One of our team members reported having to switch rooms or categories every time they’ve stayed here due to overbooking, ongoing refurbishments, and even things like the AC not working in the room. While this is certainly a rare case, it can happen, and apparently has kept this particular team member from attempting to book here since their last visit a few years ago. Massive Skyliner Lines This is almost a certainty to happen to anyone who’s going to book here due to the Skyliner’s popularity. You’ll want to expect some massive lines for the Disney Skyliner at certain times of the day. Skyliner Station at Disney Pop Century Resort and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort Not only is everyone staying at your hotel attempting to use the Skyliner, but so is everyone staying at the neighboring hotel, Disney’s Pop Century Resort. Because of this, you should pack your patience or strategically plan the times you arrive to head out to the parks or leave the parks based on this factor. Otherwise, it could get a little overwhelming, to say the least, if you’re not prepared. Limited Food Options There’s only going to be one quick service food court type location available at this hotel — and you’ll need to know that in advance of choosing to stay here. Landscape of Flavors While on one side that can be kind of convenient (and genius), the flip side to that is you’re only going to have what’s available THERE on site to choose from. If you’re not looking to eat burgers, sandwiches, pizza, and pasta each day you’ll want to travel to another hotel, a Disney World park, or Disney Springs for other types of meals. We’re always looking for the best ways to help you WIN your next Disney vacation! Be sure to check back in with us at Disney Food Blog for the latest updates about Disney hotels and more! We hope you have a sweet tooth — new desserts have made their way to Disneyland! Sleeping Beauty Castle The Disneyland Resort is home to some FANTASTIC eats and now there’s yet ANOTHER addition! B Sweet Dessert Bar, a Los Angeles-based, Filipino-owned dessert bar that specializes in all kinds of treats (including Disney-themed ones) is NOW selling its goodies at the Happiest Place on Earth! We even stopped by and tried some of the desserts! The new B Sweets location can be found at Downtown Disney inside Earl of Sandwich beginning this week. To celebrate its arrival in Orange County, the B Sweets team will host a meet-and-eat at Earl of Sandwich on Saturday, January 20th! ©B Sweet, LLC Some B Sweet offerings include Birthday Cake, Ube Love Cake, Pineapple Whip Cheesecake, and more, depending on the day. We are HUGE fans of the Pineapple Whip Cheesecake (which tastes just like Disney Dole Whip!) so we were SUPER EXCITED to try some of Chef Barb’s latest Downtown Disney offerings! How were they? Let’s take a look! A trio of B Sweet cakes at Downtown Disney We tried three different cakes — Ube Love Cake, Strawberry Shortcake Cheesecake, and Celebration Cake. The cakes were listed at a pretty decent value at $8.99 each. Ube Love Cake The Ube Love Cake was probably our favorite cake that we tried. Its taste was akin to a vanilla cake and was fairly moist with a light frosting. Fluffy! We also appreciated how fluffy the texture was! Ultimately, we found this to be a pretty solid cake. The Strawberry Shortcake Cheesecake had a strong strawberry flavor that tasted a bit artificial and not as natural as we would have liked. Strawberry Shortcake Cheesecake Still, if you’re a strawberry fan, we recommend trying it for yourself as you may like the flavor more than we did. As for the cheesecake, it had a very soft texture and was almost like yogurt. It didn’t help or harm our experience with the cake but it was something we noticed. We recommend eating this one as soon as possible and giving it a try especially if you like softer cheesecakes. The cheesecake is very soft Unfortunately, our Celebration Cake wasn’t as moist as the Ube Love Cake, but it was very sweet! Celebration Cake We weren’t the biggest fans of how sweet the frosting was, but if you like sugary desserts packed with sweetness, you should definitely give this cake a try! One sweet cake! There were aspects about each cake we liked and didn’t like, and we truly think these desserts will please some more than others. Regardless, we think you should make your way down to Downtown Disney and try them yourself! And, as always, stay tuned right here at DFB for all the latest Disneyland news, tips, and, of course, food reviews! THIS IS NOT A DRILL! A hearty, yet sweet dessert has made its way to Disney World! Main Street U.S.A. If you find yourself at Magic Kingdom any time soon, we think you should make it a priority to drop by Main Street, U.S.A. (not that you’ll have much of a choice since it’s right at the entrance to the park ). We say this because if you’re a fan of desserts, a new one just arrived, and we have all the details! Make your way over to Main Street Confectionary and try the NEW Skittles Strawberry Lemon Bundt Cake! SKITTLES on a CAKE? OK, so this isn’t actually the first time we’ve seen Disney do that. At the Festival of the Arts, you can get Skittles-topped cake at the Figment-themed booth! We grabbed one of these new treats, and we have A LOT of thoughts. Let’s check it out! Skittles Strawberry Lemon Bundt Cake at Main Street Confectionary This mini lemon Bundt cake is made with a strawberry filling and is topped with strawberry buttercream frosting and crushed freeze-dried SKITTLES® Original Bite Size Candies. Purchasing one of these small beauties will cost you $5.99. So how does it taste? This dessert gets two thumbs up from us! The Bundt cake is very dense but surprisingly lightly sweetened. We got strong flavors of the lemon and strawberry which combined to make this both a fruity and tart treat. The frosting sweetens the dessert with other nicely balanced flavors but we hardly noticed the Skittles on top because they were so small. The jelly-like strawberry filling was absolutely delicious and we were big fans of that inclusion. The filling is DELICIOUS We definitely recommend trying the Skittles Strawberry Lemon Bundt Cake and think strawberry and lemon fans should enjoy it as well. We also think anyone who loves Nothing Bundt Cakes will find similarities with this Bundt cake and should try it as well. We love the Main Street Confectionery! If you prefer light and fluffy cupcake-like cakes, maybe skip this one and try something else within Main Street Confectionary. Overall, we didn’t really find anything majorly wrong with this dessert! Cupcakes at the Confectionery We LOVE to bring you all kinds of Disney food reviews so stay tuned right here at DFB for all the latest Disney World food reviews, news, and tips! It seems to be the time of year when we start hearing about TV show cancellations. ©Marvel We’ve previously had news on some ABC shows, a Disney Channel show, plus a TON of Disney+ series that won’t be continuing. Well, Marvel fans might be disappointed to learn that a Marvel show could be next on Disney’s cancellation list. According to Deadline, a second season of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is unlikely to air on Disney+ (and we’re kinda’ unhappy about it). During a recent interview, She-Hulk star Tatiana Maslany said she didn’t think the series would get a second season. When asked about it, she replied, “I don’t think so. I think we blew our budget, and Disney was like, ‘No thanks.'” ©Marvel She-Hulk follows the life of Jennifer Walters, who inadvertently gets Hulk-like powers after an accident that required her to get a blood transfusion from her cousin, Bruce Banner, aka the Hulk. The show’s first season focused on Jennifer navigating her life with these new powers while also becoming an attorney specializing in legal cases involving superhumans. ©Disney The series also boasted a strong cast. In addition to Maslany, the series also included Mark Ruffalo reprising his role as Bruce Banner, Tim Roth reprising his role as Emil Blonsky, Benedict Wong and reprising his role as Wong. The cast also included Jameela Jamil, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Josh Segarra, Ginger Gonzaga, and more. It also featured Charlie Cox returning to his role as Daredevil for the first time since the Netflix Daredevil series was canceled. ©Disney According to Forbes, the nine-episode series reportedly cost Disney $200 million, thanks to all the CGI needed to transform Maslany into She-Hulk onscreen. So it was certainly an expensive series to make, which would align with Maslany’s comments. ©Disney Does this mean we’ve seen the last of Maslany as She-Hulk, though? Well, she could turn up in another show or Marvel movie, but Disney has not revealed any future plans for the character at this time. Honestly, we’d take a cameo in the new Daredevil: Born Again series, if that’s what it takes. We’ll keep an eye out for more Marvel news, so stay tuned to DFB for more. Raise your hand if a stop at Starbucks is one of the FIRST things you do as soon as you enter the Disney World Parks. Who else needs a Starbucks run first thing I the morning? Anyone else? Well, from our frequent stops at the Starbucks at the Disney Parks, we’ve learned a thing or two about a thing or two. The Disney World Starbucks are… different. While, yes, they are a bit more magical than your average Starbies locations, they also come with an extra set of rules. They’ve thrown us off in the past, and they’ve throw off some of our readers, but we’re here to help prevent that from happening again. Here are six weird things that happen when you go to Starbucks in Disney World. You can’t mobile order Starbucks. We know, we know. Mobile Order is the first thing you’ll search for as soon as you see those long lines for a cup of Joe. You can’t mobile order Starbies at Disney World! However, this isn’t your typical Starbucks location or quick service eatery. You won’t be able to mobile order your coffee or food, and will have to wait in line. You can’t use a reusable cup. At a lot of Starbucks locations, you can bring your own cup with you to get your drink at a discount. Plus, it’s pretty helpful to have a cup on hand that you can just take back home and wash! Can’t use refillable cups! However, the Disney World Starbucks locations don’t allow this. You must get your drink in one of the to-go cups. And no, you can’t buy a reusable cup there that’s never been used for them to fill, either. You can’t get a “real” straw. Many Starbucks locations switched to a biodegradable straw a while ago. You know — the brown or green ones that have a bit of a weird texture that are super fun to chew? Or no straw! Well, Disney World is super strict with the straws. You won’t find any sort of plastic straws, not even the “fake” plastic that Starbucks uses. Nope, at Disney World Starbucks, you’ll have to use a paper straw! The texture of these isn’t great once it’s gotten wet, so we typically opt for no straw and just use the sippy lid. You can’t use a normal giftcard if you’re using the app. If you use the Starbucks app to pay for your purchase at Disney World Starbucks locations, you’ll only be able to do so if your gift card has a QR code. Starbucks Most of the gift cards that are on the app have a bar code, which can’t be scanned for payment on your app at these locations. However, if you have your debit or credit card linked to the Starbucks app, that will show up as a QR code, so you can use it. There have also been some instances where our reporters have gotten a gift card to show up with a QR code, and that worked for them! You can’t redeem stars. Stars are Starbucks points! You can earn them with each purchase, and then you can redeem them for free coffee, snacks, and even merchandise. Starbucks If you scan your app at Disney World Starbucks, you’ll be able to earn points with your purchases, but you won’t be able to use those points for freebies. You can’t get a free birthday drink. At most Starbucks locations, you can show a form of ID to prove it’s your birthday, and you’ll be able to grab a free drink! No free birthday drinks here! At Disney World, you’ll have to pay for that drink — even on your birthday. So… the good news? Well, this ONLY pertains to the Starbucks locations IN the parks. At Disney Springs and nearby Flamingo Crossings, you’ll be able to do all these things, just like at a regular Starbucks location. We’ll be sure to keep you updated with more Disney news, so make sure to follow along for more so that you never miss a thing. Looking for more Starbucks news? Click here! Alright, who else is excited for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure to open? Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Concept Art ©Disney The Princess and the Frog-themed ride is currently under construction in Magic Kingdom, and we’ve gotten a pretty vague opening timeline (sometime in 2024), as well as some great sneak peeks as to what we can expect. Now, though, we’ve gotten some exciting news about ride ANIMATRONICS! Let’s talk about it! According to NOLA.com, who was able to chat with Disney Imagineer Ted Robledo, several Tiana audio-animatronics will be used throughout the ride to convey the story to viewers! Progress on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure We know what you’re thinking. You’re picturing those terrifying animatronics of Anna, Elsa, and Kristoff in Frozen Ever After in EPCOT. Have no fear, my friends. These advanced animatronics are said to be like the ones used in Frozen Ever After in Hong Kong Disneyland. Hong Kong Disneyland Animatronics YASSSS. The good animatronics! That’s not all, though. There will also be an animatronic for Louis, the jazz-playin’ alligator that we all love. (If you don’t love him, we have questions First one: Why?) Yep, that guy on the far left! (Throwback to the WDW 50th Anniversary!) Right now, it’s reported that cutouts are being used throughout the ride as placeholders for the animatronics, so that the construction inside the ride can be based off of the positioning of the character. (Storytelling! Art! Imagineering!) Tiana’s Foods Water Tower We can’t wait to see these animatronics, and we can’t wait for this ride to be completed. We think it’s gonna be amazing. We’re simple people. We like chocolate Mickey bars, photos of puppies, and trips to the Disney parks. Know what else we like? Parades! You never know who you might see in a parade, plus we love a good parade float or antique car. Anyone else? This year, Disneyland Resort honored Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at the 39th annual Kingdom Day Parade in Los Angeles, California. Going on a Disney Cruise is a major bucket list item for many Disney fans. Disney Wish We know we’ve been there before — we love cruising! However, packing for a cruise is very different than packing for a regular Disney vacation. Here are 15 essentials you CANNOT forget! DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. The most important thing for anyone prone to motion sickness, or anyone worried about motion sickness, is Bonine. ©Amazon This is a non-drowsy motion sickness medicine that can be taken every 24 hours. It can help treat and prevent nausea, vomiting, motion sickness, cyber sickness, and dizziness. Grab a pack here! Things can get windy on a Disney cruise, and if you’re like us and don’t want to just lay on a beach chair where other people have put their bodies (*shudder*) then you’ll want Beach Chair Towel Clips. ©Amazon These are fantastic for keeping your towel in place while you’re lounging on the pool deck or at Castaway Cay. Buy them here! Looking for a fun way to make sure your luggage doesn’t get lost? Grab the Disney Cruise Luggage Tags. ©Amazon These come in a pack of 4 that are named after four of the cruise ships — the Disney Magic, Dream, Wish, and Wonder. Grab a pack here! A Cruise Lanyard is also an absolute essential! ©Amazon This is great to keep your Key to the World card on you at all times (it allows you in and out of your room, among many other things). Trust us when we say you CANNOT lose this card, so keeping it on a lanyard is a great solution. Check it out! Sunscreen is also necessary no matter what time of year you’re traveling, and we love the Hawaiian Tropic Mineral Powder Sunscreen Brush. ©Amazon This stick is only for your face and is 30 SPF. Trust us, PLEASE don’t forget sunscreen! Purchase one here! We get it, you have a lot of different items you need to charge when you travel. However, there aren’t many outlets in staterooms, so grab a USB C Portable Travel Power Strip. ©Amazon This has 3 three-prong outlets, as well as two USB ports, and a USB C outlet. Buy one here! When you’re in the middle of the ocean, things are VERY wet (hence, the ocean). That’s why you need a Waterproof Wet Bag. ©Amazon You can keep whatever you’d like in here, but we recommend important essentials that can’t get wet like cash, electronics, and snacks. Buy yourself one here! Fun fact: Most of the walls on cruise ships are magnetic! So if you want to customize your room a bit, grab the Custom Cruise Magnet. ©Amazon There are COUNTLESS different options to choose from, and you can customize it in a number of different ways. Plus, you can keep it and it acts a souvenir! Grab one here! And who can resist custom Minnie Ears specifically for cruises? Grab yourself a pair of the Cruise Minnie Ears! ©Amazon These are much cheaper than ears you’ll find in the Disney parks or on the ship, and it just screams Disney cruise. Buy a pair here! Remember those magnetic walls we were talking about? You’ll also want some Magnetic Hooks! ©Amazon There’s not THAT much room for storage inside your stateroom, but if you can hang some lanyards, hats, and commonly used items on these hooks, it’ll free up some space and keep things from getting lost. Grab a pack here! Speaking of organization, if you’re going on a longer cruise or rooming with a lot of people, an Over the Door Organizer is a necessity. ©Amazon These are fantastic for storing hair products, makeup brushes, a purse, diapers, and whatever else can fit into these bins. Grab one here! Okay, this next one may be weird at first, but bear with us. If you’re staying on a longer cruise, you should grab some Pirate Head Bandanas and Eye Patches. ©Amazon Why? Because Disney Cruises have Pirate Nights on many of their larger cruises, and while they’ll pass out bandanas to everyone, you may want to have a few more accessories. Get a set here! Even if you’re sailing in the middle of summer, things can get WINDY and COLD on those top decks, so a Full-Zip Fleece Jacket is necessary. ©Amazon This is especially true when it gets dark at night and you’re walking around the ship. Grab yourself one here! Even if you’re not a Flip Flops person, you’ll want to have a pair for walking around on the beach and the wet decks of the ship. ©Amazon Take it from one of our team members, who went on a cruise and only brought Converse…her shoes got super wet (and therefore her socks) and then SAND got in them — it wasn’t fun. Buy some here! And lastly, you need a quality Travel Tote that will carry everything you need. ©Amazon Buy it here! When you arrive at the terminal, a Disney Cast Member will take your bags to be brought to your stateroom. HOWEVER, you won’t see those bags again for several hours, so we suggest keeping a bag like this with you with all your essentials until you can get into your stateroom. We’re always here to help you plan for your next Disney Cruise, so stay tuned to DFB! Check out our Amazon Storefront for more Disney essentials! Disney popcorn buckets are a THING and we know a lot of our readers collect them. Popcorn buckets! Who can blame you? Disney keeps coming up with fun designs like the most recent Figment Popcorn Bucket, the Mickey Toy Soldier Popcorn Bucket, and all the cool popcorn buckets in Tokyo Disneyland Resort. Back in August 2023, we informed you of another lawsuit that had hit Disney’s desks. ©The Walt Disney Company TSG, a film financier, filed a lawsuit against Disney (and 20th Century Fox Film Corporation — “Fox”) in Los Angeles Superior Court for not getting their share of the profits for movies they had financed for Fox. TSG had alleged that Disney/Fox had breached their contract by using “nearly every trick in the Hollywood accounting book” to “deprive” TSG of “hundreds of millions of dollars.” Now, several months later, there has been an update on the suit. The original breach of contract filing accused Fox of “withholding profits and self-dealing to boost subscriber numbers,” according to the Hollywood Reporter. Now, as of January 5th, both sides have notified the court that they have struck a deal to resolve the issue. TSG had claimed that they financed some of Fox’s most successful movies including Avatar: The Way of Water, Bohemian Rhapsody, Deadpool, Deadpool 2, Logan, and more. The financier was supposed to receive a share of certain receipts from each of the films. ©Disney The concern surrounding streaming was brought up in the file. The problem is that up until recently, movies had stayed in theaters for 90-1120 days, then they went to pay-per-view, home video, pay television, and then finally subscription video-on-demand. This process allowed the companies to maximize profits. But nowadays, movies go straight to streaming platforms such as Disney+ after only being in theaters for a much shorter amount of time. This was particularly seen with The Way of Water and others. ©Disney The change in how movies are released caused what TSG claims to be self-dealing to their subscriber numbers which in turn influenced this breach of contract. But now the two have settled the issue behind closed doors which, according to the Hollywood Reporter, is common. However, at this time, the terms of the agreement were not disclosed. ©Marvel This is just one of several lawsuits Disney is still part of. We’ll be on the lookout for more information on all the rest. In the meantime, keep following DFB for more Disney news. The world is an ever-changing landscape and, because of that, the Disney Parks are also forced to change. We saw this up close and personal when Disney adjusted to the Covid-19 pandemic, and we may be on the precipice of another massive shift in 2024 and beyond. Magic Kingdom Change is inevitable at the Disney Parks, especially at Disney World. Walt Disney once said, “Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world.” This would wind up to be true at every Disney resort. While this line of thinking applies to changes such as theme park expansion, it could also apply to how the theme parks operate. Disney World has recently adjusted its policies, but more changes could be forthcoming as its dining practices could ultimately be affected long-term thanks to a new medical trend. A medical breakthrough has taken the world by storm. GLP-1, also known as Ozempic, is changing the way people diet. As its popularity increases, theme park destinations like Disney World may have to adjust the way they look at food in terms of profit. Ozempic was originally approved by the FDA to treat people with Type 2 diabetes- who risk serious health consequences without medication. In recent months, there has been a spike in demand for Ozempic, or semaglutide, due to its weight loss benefits, which has led to shortages. Some doctors prescribe Ozempic off-label to treat obesity. (Photo illustration by Mario Tama/Getty Images) Ozempic was originally designed as a diabetes medication that affects the body’s regulation of insulin and gastric emptying. The effects of this drug, when broken down in the simplest of terms, make users feel fuller for a longer period of time. Of course, the public (both diabetic and nondiabetic) has reacted to this effect with intense curiosity. A full Thanksgiving spread at Liberty Tree Tavern According to travel market research firm Skift, Ozempic prescriptions rose 300% between 2020 and 2022, and the market is projected to reach $100 billion in value by 2030. It’s safe to deduce that this drug isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, and that it will only continue to get bigger. So how does this affect Disney World? Well, it affects the whole travel industry, and Disney World is considered by many to be the crown jewel of that industry. Per Skift, “Industry winners will be businesses where food and beverage constitute a cost rather than a revenue generator – airlines, all-inclusive resorts, cruises, experience providers, and tour operators stand to benefit, capitalizing on a leaner clientele. Theme parks, hotels, movie theaters, and entertainment venues relying on food and beverage revenue may face challenges.” Disney Wish’s Senses Fitness Center This year, the travel industry is preparing for a new weight loss boom. Skift found that 2023 data revealed, “a surge in bookings for physically demanding activities. Nature walks, bike tours, and hiking trips saw significant increases, reflecting a shift towards more active and health-conscious travel experiences.” Where Disney World fits into all of this is that it relies on food purchasing and licensing for a significant portion of its revenue. If demand decreases, the profits — or lack thereof — will follow. With Ozempic’s ability to quell appetite, Disney World would clearly be at a disadvantage if the drug continues to become more mainstream. Chipotle Barbecue Loaded Fries at Casey’s Corner It’s unlikely that any tangible change at Disney World or any business inside the travel sector will begin immediately. With that said, like all businesses, the travel industry will monitor consumer behavior and we could see subtle changes that mark the beginning of massive overhauls. We’ve already seen something like this transpire at the Disney Parks after the push for gluten-free diets became more widespread and relevant. Projections, such as Goldman Sachs’ prediction, insist this drug could become the most successful pharmaceutical ever. Not just limited to weight loss, GLP-1 could lead to breaking other bad habits such as smoking or over-shopping. If projections are correct, Disney will be forced to adapt to smaller appetites, less desire to indulge in vices, and more frugality from the consumer. If they can’t adapt, they will certainly see profits plummet. Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater and Restaurant at Disney’s Hollywood Studios Ozempic can only be obtained with a prescription from your doctor. Research is also still being conducted to study the long-lasting effects of consistent usage. So far, common side effects include nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain, vomiting, and constipation. Pancreatitis has also been reported in some rare cases. Most insurances also do not cover Ozempic and costs can get around to $1,000 each month. Demand has also led to drug shortages and complications in acquiring Ozempic, especially for diabetics who rely on the drug. Consult with your doctor to see if Ozempic and other brands of this diabetes treatment/weight loss drug are right for you. Dining Room at Cinderella’s Royal Table Where Disney World and the rest of the travel industry go during this Ozempic trend is fascinating and a story worth watching. The airline industry has been a hot topic over the past few years. Airlines are a hot topic! From the pandemic affecting travels, to the mass Southwest cancellations that led to a Senate hearing, to the ongoing pilot shortage, it’s safe to say that major airlines seem to always be in the headlines. Now, though, two popular airline choices are in the news now that a federal judge has blocked a major step forward. Let’s talk about it! In 2022, Spirit Airlines and JetBlue Airways proposed a $3.8 billion merger deal, which would allow Frontier Airlines to take Spirit’s place as the top domestic choice for low airfare, while the acquisition of Spirit would allow JetBlue to compete with the Big 4 of U.S. airlines: Delta, United, American, and Southwest. Spirit Airlines at Orlando Airport Now, though, a federal judge in Boston has blocked the proposed merger, stating that the removal of a low-fare airline could drastically impact the industry as a whole economically. Per the Orlando Sentinel, U.S. District Judge William G. Young issued a 113-page ruling that reasoned that while the merger might “well pressure” those four major airlines we mentioned earlier, it would harm the industry overall since travelers would no longer have one of the major budget airlines. ©Spirit Airlines Currently, Spirit Airlines is the nation’s seventh largest airline, with JetBlue just ahead in sixth place. The competition between the two is beneficial, as it pushes each airlines’ prices lower and lower. Spirit Airlines Things are a bit sticky right now, though, as Spirit Airlines stakeholders have sold their shares. The Orlando Sentinel said that Spirit stocks have dropped more than 53%, while JetBlue’s have risen by 5%. The Disney Parks are always changing and that includes perks, as well. Disneyland Main Street crowds At the Disneyland Resort, hotel guests are afforded the perk of early entry into the parks. With this perk, guests staying at any official Disneyland Resort can enter the parks 30 minutes before they officially open. However, that policy is ABOUT TO CHANGE! Early Entry at Disneyland is still somewhat in its infancy, as it began only a couple of years ago in August 2022. Up until now, the perk allowed early access to both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure and left it up to the guests to decide which park they wished to visit. That rule will change beginning January 20th, 2024. Disney California Adventure Per Disney, “Starting January 20, 2024, the early entry benefit will be updated, and Guests with valid park admission and reservations who are checked in and staying at one of the Disneyland Resort hotels may take advantage of this 30-minute early entry into a designated theme park for every day of their hotel stay. Each day, either Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park will be open early. Please check the theme park calendar for the schedule.” Mickey at the Disneyland Train Station! So while the perk is essentially still intact, the park that offers the perk will vary from day to day. This limitation will likely have the two parks alternating the perk each day and visitors will need to check the schedule beforehand online, over the phone, or via the Disneyland app. Disneyland’s Space Mountain Early Entry gives guests the opportunity to bypass some major morning crowds, but it doesn’t cover every single attraction. Here’s what’s included in the Disneyland Resort’s Early Entry policy: Disneyland Park Attractions: Alice in Wonderland Astro Orbitor Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters Disneyland Monorail Dumbo the Flying Elephant King Arthur Carrousel Mad Tea Party Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride Peter Pan’s Flight Pinocchio’s Daring Journey Snow White’s Enchanted Wish Space Mountain Star Tours – The Adventures Continue Disneyland Park Dining and Shopping: Churros near Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters Esplanade Stroller Shop Fantasyland Fruit Cart Guide II Little Green Men Store Command The Mad Hatter in Fantasyland Main Street Fruit Cart Market House The Star Trader WEB SLINGERS Entrance Disney California Adventure Park Attractions: Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission BREAKOUT! Disney’s Animal Kingdom is home to tons of different snacks and meals that we just can’t get enough of. Animal Kingdom However, this is Disney, which means that things change ALL the time. We keep our eyes peeled for all the latest new snacks to enter the park, and we don’t have one to share with you today — we have THREE! Over in Animal Kingdom you can head to Restaurantosaurus for not one, but TWO new snacks. The first is the Dragonfly Cupcake for $6.49. This is lemon cake with raspberry mousse filling, vanilla frosting, and a chocolate dragon fly piece. Dragonfly Cupcake We will admit that this one did let us down in the looks department, especially when compared to the reference photo. With the way it was packaged, part of the look was ruined as soon as we unwrapped it. However, this was one on the best tasting cupcakes we’ve had in a while! Inside the Dragonfly Cupcake The lemon cake was moist with a real lemon flavor and the raspberry mousse inside was dense and rich with berry flavors. The frosting is your standard vanilla buttercream, which we enjoyed. If you’re looking for a lemon-flavored treat, don’t hesitate to get this, but if you’re looking for something for the ‘gram, this may not be your best bet. We also grabbed the S’moresosaurus Shake for $8.49. This is a vanilla milkshake with chocolate and caramel drizzle in the cup. It’s topped with two lightly toasted marshmallows, a chocolate-dipped s’more, graham cracker crumbs, and whipped cream. The cup is rimmed with more chocolate sauce and graham cracker crumbs. It’s multiple treats in one! S’moresosaurus Shake The marshmallows were very lightly toasted and fun to pick off the top and eat. The chocolate-dipped s’more was marshmallow sandwiched between two graham crackers, with the whole thing covered in chocolate. This was BIG and a rich treat all on its own. Delicious! It was decorated with a white chocolate dino piece. So many toppings! As for the shake, this was a pretty standard vanilla shake — good, but not necessarily a standout on its own. But here’s the thing — while we were enjoying the treats on the top of this shake, the caramel and chocolate swirl in the cup slid down into the shake and when we stirred, it was a whole new experience. We loved this treat! If you aren’t looking for something BIG for dessert or a snack, this might be overwhelming for you, but otherwise, give it a try! Lastly, we went to Terra Treats and grabbed the S’mores Dessert Pizza for $6.49. This is pizza dough with browned butter and brown sugar baked into it, topped with crumbled graham crackers, toasted marshmallows and chocolate sauce. Thanks, lovely Cast Members! If you shy away from Disney World pizza, know that this isn’t the “puffy pizza” variety. The crust here has the right amount of chew, and we were surprised at just how much flavor the browned butter and brown sugar imparts. The whole thing is drizzled in plenty of chocolate sauce — enough to get some in every bite but not so much to make it messy to eat, which was a concern when we were ordering. This is just the way a dessert pizza should be — sweet, but not so sweet that you don’t get a little savory contrast with the dough. S’mores Dessert Pizza We had multiple people ask us where we got it from! This slice was rectangular and as big as our hand — it’s an easily shareable treat and for $6.79, that’s a good deal in Disney World. Marshmallows are dominant on the top of this pizza, so if you’re not a fan you might want to skip this. So unique! We’re not sure how long these treats will be around, so grab them while you can! As always, stay tuned to DFB for all the latest Disney news! Here’s why you should always buy the Individual Lightning Lane for this Animal Kingdom ride! What’s your favorite snack in Animal Kingdom?
