When you think of Disney theme parks, you probably picture the hot, sunny conditions of Orlando, Florida, or Anaheim, California. But the truth is, the Disney parks around the world are located in all kinds of climates. Welcome to the SUNNY Magic Kingdom! Some parks, like the ones in Walt Disney World, get immensely hot at certain times of the year, whereas spots like Disneyland in California have pretty moderate temperatures year-round (with some exceptions, of course). Meanwhile, Disneyland Paris can get pretty cold in the winter. Guess what? It SNOWED — and you HAVE to see the stunning (and rare) photos. This is the year’s FIRST snowfall in Paris, which is extra special since the city only experiences up to three days of snow each year — sometimes, they don’t get ANY snow. So this truly is a rare sight! ©Disney A few inches of snow fell overnight, and Cast Members snapped some AMAZING photos of the park covered with the light dusting early in the morning. ©Disney This is something you won’t see in Disney World. Phantom Manor (The Disneyland Paris version of the Haunted Mansion) was covered with snow! It really adds to the foreboding appearance, don’t you think? ©Disney Over by the Thunder Mesa Riverboat Landing, it looks like the Wild West got a rare dusting of snow, too! ©Disney We are seriously drooling over all these photos. Suddenly, “snoap” just doesn’t seem as cool as the real deal! ©Disney Some of these photos are wallpaper-worthy! So what can you look forward to in February? Check it out! DVC Members Can Book NEW Fort Wilderness Cabins Did you know that new cabins are coming to Disney’s Fort Wilderness? We’ve seen the concept art and we’re getting excited to see them in real life when they open on July 1st, 2024! But you can start booking these cabins very soon! ©Disney Sales for The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort open to existing members on February 1st, 2024. Members will be able to add on by talking to their Disney Vacation Club Guide or calling Member Sales at (800) 500-3990. On February 15th, Disney Vacation Club Members who have added on points at the new cabins can begin booking stays online or by calling (800) 800-9800. See the NEW Concept Art for This Disney World Hotel Makeover After Hours Return to EPCOT After Hours is back at not one, not two, but THREE Disney World parks for 2024! We’ve already experienced the event at Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom in January, but as of February 2nd, After Hours events at EPCOT are back! EPCOT These separately ticketed events will take place on certain nights from February 2nd until July 18th, 2024, and they have complimentary snacks, low wait times, and low crowd levels. Tickets range in price from $149 to $159 depending on the night and Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members can get a discount. TeFiti at EPCOT It’s less time in the parks than a typical theme park ticket gives you, but you can do SO much more in a short time since Disney limits the number of tickets sold! We’ve Got Really GOOD NEWS and Really BAD NEWS about Disney World’s After Hours Events Princess Half Marathon Weekend runDisney hosts several events at Disney World throughout the year and in February, the Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend is coming! The races happen from February 22nd to 26th, 2024. ©Disney If you have plans to be in Disney World during this time, beware of extra crowds in the parks. The races happen early in the morning and many runners head to the parks afterward to celebrate. Keep this in mind when planning your upcoming trips! Princess Half Marathon Weekend (2023) We also have to warn you about some road closures for the races happening near Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort! On February 24th, 2024, roads will be affected from 3AM to 7:30AM for the Disney Princess 10K. On February 25th, 2024, the roads will be impacted from 3AM to 10AM for the Disney Princess Half Marathon. That’s another thing to keep in mind! The Unexpected Reason To AVOID Disney World in February The EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival Kicks Off The 2024 EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival is kicking off a little earlier this year on February 28th, 2024! The festival will end on May 27th, which means this festival will be much shorter than previous years. 2023 EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival Topiaries We’ve already learned a lot about the festival including a full list of the food booths (we’re still waiting for menus!), returning scavenger hunts, the Garden Rocks concert lineup and dining package information, and some new topiaries that are coming this year. ©Disney If you want to know everything about the festival, check out our page at the link below! If you watched the Disney Channel a lot growing up, then there’s a good chance you’ve seen Wizards of Waverly Place at some point. ©Deadline The fan-favorite family comedy starred Selena Gomez as Alex Russo, who navigated her teenage life as a wizard while surrounded by her normal friends, classmates, and teachers. Of course, her family members were also wizards, including her older brother Justin, played by David Henrie. The show was cancelled in 2012, but now we have some news. The internet has been going absolutely ballistic after David Henrie shared a photo on Instagram of a script for a show called Wizards. In the same photo, you’ll see a pen that says Wizards of Waverly Place. Yep, we’re getting a REBOOT. ©David Henrie via Instagram Henrie said in the caption, “The Russos are excited to become a part of your family, once again, but we’ve grown 2024, the year magic comes back!” EEP! We found an article regarding the reboot/sequel series from Deadline, which takes a deeper dive into the series itself. It follows along with now-grownup Justin Russo, who has chosen to leave his life of wizardry behind to live a normal, human life alongside his wife and two sons. However, this life plan is upheaved when a “powerful young wizard in training” shows up at his door and needs his help. In order to help her, he has to pick up the wand again and tune in to his past self. ©Deadline Gomez and Henrie are the executive producers and will star in the series, but we’ll also see other familiar faces, too. These include Janice LeAnn Brown (Disney’s Just Roll with It), Alkaio Thiele (Call Me Kat) and Mimi Gianopulos (American Princess), Gary Marsh (Disney’s Descendants: The Rise of Red), and Andy Fickman (Race to Witch Mountain). Disney’s Lunar New Year Festival at Disney California Adventure is starting SOON! ©Disney We’ve been waiting on the edges of our seats to try these eats and drinks ever since the full menus were released, and we’ve also seen some of the festival booths already popping up around the park. And now, we’re even more excited because Disney just revealed that two new characters will be making their park debut at this festival! Add another reason to visit Disney California Adventure’s Lunar New Year Festival to the list! Disney shared that two new characters would be making their Disneyland debut as part of this year’s event! 2023 Lunar New Year Festival That’s right — Meilin Lee and her mom, Ming Lee, will be greeting and interacting with guests at the 2024 Lunar New Year Festival. You might recognize these two from the Disney and Pixar film, Turning Red, and the characters have Chinese-Canadian heritage, so it’s fitting that they’d make their first appearance during this festival! ©Disney The Lunar New Year Festival will run from January 23rd to February 18th this year, giving you just under a month to experience all it has to offer! There have been several random dates in 2024 that have held significant meaning for Disney (and we’re still only in January!). ©Disney January 9th marked the change to Disney World’s park pass reservation system, the Disney Dining Plan’s return, and all-day park hopping. January 11th brought Annual Passholders “Good-to-Go” days. And now, we’re here to tell you why you may want to mark your calendar for February 8th! Fantasy Springs, the HUGE expansion at Tokyo DisneySea, will officially open on June 6th, 2024. It’s going to be an exciting day as we finally get to explore Rapunzel’s Forest, Peter Pan’s Never Land, and Frozen Kingdom! Each area of the park looks and sounds absolutely amazing. ©Disney So what’s so exciting about February 8th if Fantasy Springs opens on June 6th? Great question! February 8th marks the first day that you can begin booking hotel reservations for the brand-new Fantasy Springs hotel! ©Disney The Fantasy Springs Hotel is being built inside the new park! Anyone staying here will be able to walk right into the park any time of the day (and even 15 minutes before other guests) with a valid park ticket. ©Disney On February 8th, you can begin making room reservations for June 6th through June 8th, which would make you part of the very first people EVER to see and experience this Disney hotel! No one else will have visited it or slept in its beds before you — you would be number ONE. How exciting would that be? You would also be among the first to even see the all-new park. ©Disney Bookings begin at 1 PM JST on February 8th with more dates becoming available on February 15th and beyond. If you’re interested in booking a vacation package, reservations for those are NOW OPEN and may include some nights at the Fantasy Springs Hotel’s Fantasy Chateau. ©Disney The new hotel will feature two buildings — the deluxe-type Fantasy Chateau and the luxury-type Grand Chateau. There will be restaurants and several meal options available. There will also be several benefits by staying here for instance, the hotel has its own special entrance into the park and guests will have access to “Happy Entry” which allows them to enter the park 15 minutes earlier than anyone else (not available on day of check-in). ©Disney Grabbing the vacation packages was very challenging as the website was incredibly busy on the day they opened, so we would expect the same thing on February 8th. If you’re hoping to snag one of these reservations be ready to hop online ASAP that day! We’re excited to experience the new park and the new hotel. June 6th can get here anytime now! It’s not something you ever hope will happen on your trip, but sometimes things go wrong that are just out of our control. Cinderella Castle And, when it happens at the very beginning of your trip, well, that can really get things going on the wrong foot. Missing a flight is likely many folks’ worst nightmare when it comes to their Disney World trip, but, this airline rule might just be able to save the day! So you’ve missed your flight to Disney World. Now what? Well, don’t immediately start to panic — there might still be a solution. Did you know that most major airlines have some sort of same-day flight change rule or contingency that could get you on the next departing flight — for free? It’s true, and we’re breaking a few of the most popular airlines’ policies down for ya. United Airlines Flying with United? You can easily change your flight if you’ve missed your original one. You can change it online, by phone, or in person. You’ll have to follow some rules, like your new flight must have the same departure and arrival airport as the original, it must leave within 24 hours before or after the original flight, and it must be operated by United or United Express. ©Getty Images United Premier members may be able to get another flight for free, but in some cases, a price difference may need to be paid. All other travelers may be able to get another flight within 24 hours of the original flight. You may have to pay a price difference even if your ticket type doesn’t change. ©United But, the good news is that United’s website says there are no change fees for most flights — meaning you might be able to hop on a later flight at no additional cost. The 7 Funniest Tweets from the Orlando Airport in 2023 Southwest Airlines Southwest Airlines also has a same-day flight change policy, and it’s possibly the most lenient of them all. Southwest fares come with no change fees at all, and only the potential fare difference will need to be paid if you miss your flight. There are both same-day change and same-day standby benefits, but it’s the change that really applies in this scenario. Southwest Airlines at the Orlando Airport Same-day standby is only an option if you’re trying to get on an earlier flight, so that doesn’t make sense here. But, you can make a same-day confirmed change with no fees (other than fare difference!) on the Southwest website or app. ©Southwest The same-day change lets you swap your flight on the day of travel for a later one, as long as there’s an open seat and the origin and destination airports are the same. Our Best Tips For Flying Through the Orlando International Airport American Airlines If you miss a flight on American Airlines, you may be able to change it to another same-day confirmed one — for a $60 fee. There are some exceptions, like your flight must depart on the same day, to and from the original airports as your original flight. It also must have the same number of stops as the original flight and be operated by American Airlines or American Eagle. ©American Airlines Travelers can stand by for a flight for free, but you can only stand by for one that departs earlier than your original flight — and since you’ve already missed your flight in this scenario, that’s not entirely helpful. ©American Airlines Certain ticket types are eligible for a free same-day confirmed flight change including unrestricted economy, first and business class, active U.S. military personnel and dependents, and AAdvantage members won’t be charged for switching things up last-minute. You can change your flight online, by phone, or in person. Guess Which Airline Had the MOST On-Time Flights in 2023? Delta Airlines Unlike the United and Southwest policies, Delta’s isn’t free — unless you choose to fly standby. For a same-day flight change within 24 hours of your originally scheduled departure time within the United States, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands, you have two different options. ©Delta If a seat is available in your originally purchased fare class, you can change your ticket to a confirmed seat on a new flight for a $75 minimum fee depending on the ticket type. This means you’ll have a confirmed spot on the new flight and won’t have to wait around hoping you make it on standby. If you’re a Delta Diamond, Platinum, or Gold Medallion member, same-day confirmed seats are free. Traveling with carryons only is strategic work! Just like with American Airlines, a same-day standby option is available, but it’s only available if you want to wait for an open seat on a flight that’s earlier than your original — which doesn’t really help you out much if the situation is that you’ve already missed your flight. You can change your flight online, by phone, or in person. A New $10 Million Project Is About To Make Parking So Much Easier at the Orlando Airport! So, while missing your flight can seriously put a damper on your Disney World vacation, it may not be the end of the world! We’ll admit we’re not HUGE fans of the table service options in Magic Kingdom — we’d rather just grab some Cheeseburger Spring Rolls for lunch and a Spicy Chicken Waffle Sandwich from Sleepy Hollow for dinner. Magic Kingdom’s Cinderella Castle However, if we’re looking for a special dining experience in Magic Kingdom, we sometimes choose to book an advance dining reservation at Cinderella’s Royal Table, which is one of those hard-to-get reservations — for a reason. Now, this is the MOST expensive place to eat in Magic Kingdom, so we’re going to tell you what we loved about our last dinner at Cindy’s iconic dining spot. As we mentioned, it’s pricey to dine at Cinderella’s Royal Table. You’ll pay $69 per Adult and $42 per Child (ages 3 to 9) for breakfast and $84 per Adult and $49 per Child (ages 3 to 9) for lunch and dinner. However, a meal here could be worth every penny — and we’re going to tell you why. It’s the only way to go inside Cinderella Castle. Booking a reservation at Cinderella’s Royal Table is the ONLY way you can go INSIDE Cinderella Castle (sorry, this isn’t like Disneyland, where you can just take a stroll through the castle). If you want to actually sit INSIDE the castle, you’ll need to book a reservation here. Going INSIDE the castle Now, we’ll tell you, being INSIDE the castle is INCREDIBLE, and although we’ve been to this restaurant a few times, it always blows us away to know we’re standing INSIDE the famous castle. Wow. This Cinderella Castle Story Is a TOTAL Full-Circle Moment Amazing theming and decor inside. As you ARE dining inside the Castle, you can imagine that Disney went ABOVE and BEYOND to make the details and theming inside just PERFECT. It really does feel like you’re in a fairy tale castle, complete with things like tapestries… These tapestries! …swords and shields… Incredible details …arched gothic ceilings, complete with medieval banners… SO beautiful inside …and other gorgeous details. Disney doesn’t skimp on the details, and you’ll want to walk around just to take in all the decor and theming elements. FULL LIST of Table-Service Disney Dining Plan Restaurants for Disney World Exclusive photo-op with Cinderella inside the castle. It IS her Castle, after all, so you’ll get a special meet-and-greet with Cinderella in the Castle, with a PhotoPass photographer on hand to take photos for you. You can even hand the photographers your phone, and they’ll take photos with that, too. This all happens BEFORE your meal. Meet Cinderella before your meal! Although there are other ways to meet Cinderella in Disney World (including at Fairy Tale Hall in the Magic Kingdom), none compare to meeting her here. More About Character Dining in Disney World You meet LOADS of Disney Princesses! If you want to meet Disney Princesses, this is a surefire way to do it quickly. After you’ve met Cinderella, other princesses will travel around the restaurant while you’re eating, coming by to say hello and interact with you. During our most recent visit, we got to chat with Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, and Jasmine. Jasmine at Cinderella’s Royal Table The princesses do rotate out; there is no guarantee as to which ones you’ll meet. During our dinner, we had a late reservation, but a Cast Member came over to make sure we got to interact with every princess before they left for the evening. Why People Are Paying $7,500 for Character Dining in Disney World Window tables offer the best view of Magic Kingdom. During our dinner, we got lucky enough to be offered a window table, which meant we got to look out on Magic Kingdom FROM THE CASTLE. We had an amazing view of Prince Charming’s Regal Carrousel, and it just made our experience there even more perfect. HOW do you get a table here?? Now, you can go ahead and request window seating when you arrive, but Disney might not always be able to accommodate that request. As we always say, though — it never hurts to ask! 3 Tricks to Getting the BEST View of Happily Ever After Fireworks in Magic Kingdom Food can be iffy, but there are standouts. Okay, so now we have to be honest. We’re not always blown away by the food at Cinderella’s Royal Table, especially considering its price. Yes, we get it — you’re paying to eat INSIDE Cinderella Castle and meet several princesses, but why not have great food, too? We will say this, though. Some items on the menu stand out and are worthy of this experience. Clock Strikes Twelve When we had dinner here, some of our favorites included the Butternut Squash Soup, the Parisian Gnocchi, and the Clock Strikes Twelve dessert. So keep an eye out for those menu items. The soup usually changes seasonally, so be sure to check the menu during your visit. So we’ve sorta already covered this, but dining at Cinderella’s Royal Table is one of the most unique dining experiences you’ll have in Disney World. You get to dine inside Cinderella Castle. You get to hang out with Cinderella and take some photos with her. You get to meet many of her princess friends, and you get at least a few solid meal choices. You also get a beautiful card to take home several autographs. Yay — bonus souvenir! Autograph card Plus, if you get that window seat, you have views of Magic Kingdom you can’t get anywhere else. Everything here, from the theming and decor to the entire experience, is special. This is where you go to celebrate special occasions, but also where you go when you want to please those Disney Princess lovers in your life (especially if you’re one of them). The Disney Dining Plan is BACK — and we know a lot of our readers out there are thrilled about it! mmm…snacks! The Dining Plan has changed a bit since we last saw it in 2020, and there are some NEW snacks you can use with snack credits on the plan. However, it’s become clear since its return that there are a lot of snacks NOT included with the Disney Dining Plan, including one of our favorites in Magic Kingdom. Okay, so if you’ve followed us for a little while, you know we talk a LOT about those Cheeseburger Spring Rolls from the Spring Roll Cart in Magic Kingdom. We LOVE those rolls SO much. Well, if you want to grab those spring rolls (or any of the other spring roll flavors) on the Disney Dining Plan, we’ve got some bad news — you can’t. Spring Rolls We confirmed this information with a Cast Member, who was almost as disappointed as we were. So, if you had plans to grab these bad boys with a snack credit, we are so sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Spring Roll Cart When you purchase the Disney Dining Plan, you essentially get one snack credit per day (this is true for both plans that are available). Snack credits get you any qualifying snack, including things like Mickey ice cream bars, popcorn, bottled sodas, and anything else with the Disney Dining Plan symbol. Look for THIS logo on Disney World’s menus. Disney Dining Plan Snack Credit Logo If you’re looking at menus via Mobile Order on the My Disney Experience app, qualifying snacks will say “Qualifies as a Snack.” ©Disney So, yes, not everything, including spring rolls, qualifies as a Snack. However, if you’re looking for some snacks in Magic Kingdom that you CAN use your snack credit for, we recommend stopping by Main Street Confectionery, where LOADS of snacks are eligible. Your February 2024 Disney World trip is almost here! Magic Kingdom You’ve probably booked your hotel and flights already, and if you’re an Annual Passholder, you might’ve made your Park Pass Reservations, too. Don’t forget about your dining reservations! You’ll also want to be sure to check out the park hours for your trip — let’s have a look! Note that Disney does update its theme park hours fairly regularly, so it’s still a good idea to double-check the hours on the My Disney Experience app the day before you plan to visit the parks! Let’s dive right in and have a look at all of Disney World’s park hours for February. Magic Kingdom Magic Kingdom has some things going on this month, so pay close attention to their hours. For most of the month, the park’s hours are 9AM to 9PM, but the park will be open from 8AM to 10PM on February 1st; 9AM to 11PM on February 2nd; 8AM to 11PM on February 3rd, 9th, and 10th; and 9AM to 10PM on February 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th. ©Disney Magic Kingdom will have After Hours events from 10PM to 1AM on February 1st, 5th, 12th, and 29th. ©Disney This park will have Extended Evening Hours from 10PM to 12AM on February 7th and 9PM to 11PM on February 14th, 21st, and 28th. ©Disney That’s it for Magic Kingdom — Let’s check out Animal Kingdom! Disney’s Animal Kingdom Animal Kingdom is keeping it relatively simple with their hours this month. For the first few days, the park will be open from 8AM to 7PM, including on February 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. From February 5th through the 24th the park will be open from 8AM to 6PM, except for February 9th and 10th, when it’ll be open from 8AM to 8PM. ©Disney From February 25th through the 29th, Animal Kingdom will be open from 9AM to 6PM. ©Disney During February, Animal Kingdom is not offering After Hours or Extended Evening Hours events. EPCOT EPCOT is open from 9AM to 9PM every day in February, except for February 25th, when it’ll open an hour later, at 10AM. ©Disney EPCOT will have After Hours events from 10PM to 1AM on February 2nd, 8th, and 15th. ©Disney EPCOT will have Extended Evening Hours from 9PM to 11PM on February 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th. The EPCOT International Festival of the Arts is in full swing, and we were there on the first day to check out ALL the offerings! Festival of the Arts We stopped by every food booth, checked out the Disney on Broadway Concert Series, scoured the art on display, and enjoyed the various performers and artists out and about. But there’s one big problem with this year’s festival…and nobody seems to be talking about it! If you’re a plant-based eater, you’re going to have a HARD time at the 2024 Festival of the Arts. During other festivals, we’ve seen Disney offer a plethora of plant-based eats, but at the Festival of the Arts this year? There are only TWO plant-based items throughout the whole fest. One of the plant-based offerings Compared to other events like the Flower & Garden Festival and the Food & Wine Festival, this can be particularly disappointing. We’ve seen entire plant-based booths at those festivals in the past, with menu items made completely for those on vegetarian or sometimes vegan diets. If you come to the Festival of the Arts with that same expectation, you might be let down. Impossible Meatball from Earth Eats at the 2022 Flower & Garden Festival But what about past years at this festival? Well, compared with the menus from the past three years, things weren’t much better. In 2021, 2022, and 2023, there were only three plant-based items at the festival each year. That’s not a lot of options if you’re hoping to enjoy the offerings to their fullest! 2024 EPCOT Festival of the Arts So consider this your warning if you’re a plant-based eater. You might want to look into other dining options around EPCOT so you don’t go hungry — after all, those festival portions aren’t exactly big! If you do want to try the two items, the first is the Stone-baked Moroccan Bread with hummus, chermoula, and zhoug dips at Tangierine Cafe: Flavors of the Medina. The other is the Wild Mushroom Risotto with truffle shavings and zinfandel reduction at Gourmet Landscapes. Magic Kingdom can boast a MAJOR title. Walt Disney World No, the name isn’t changing. This is more of an honorary title — and it isn’t even from Disney. Honestly, it probably isn’t even what you think. However, when we learned about it, we may have patted ourselves on the shoulders a bit because we had (subconsciously) known this alllll along. A study was conducted by Westgate Palace Hotel at Universal, where researchers analyzed every amusement park based on three factors: Instagram hashtags, monthly Google search volume, and the percentage of “excellent” reviews on TripAdvisor. Tomorrowland in Magic Kingdom With this study, researchers declared the most Instagrammable theme park is… the Magic Kingdom. Partners Statue in Magic Kingdom Listen. We’ve been to the Disney Parks a LOT over the years, and it’s good to know that all of our Cinderella Castle photos are now officially deemed Instagram-worthy. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Per the study, Magic Kingdom wasn’t the top-rated theme park in the U.S. — but it was a close second to Universal’s Islands of Adventure. However, it looks like Magic Kingdom still dominates the social media landscape. Magic Kingdom We’re not super surprised by this, considering how many people we see posing around the park on a daily basis. But hey, we’re so glad to see that the general public agrees with our feelings about this park. From the castle to all of the stunning views you can find — it would be hard to beat. Magic Kingdom In fact, visiting Magic Kingdom is a unique experience — we know there are Disney parks across the world, but nothing can quite beat walking down Main Street, U.S.A., and seeing Walt Disney’s vision for his own Disney World come to life, all thanks to his brother Roy O. Disney. Seriously — where else can you snap a photo like THIS? Fsntasyland Knowing so much love, hard work, and care went into the creation of this park, we’re glad to see that it is getting the love it deserves on Instagram. We just caught wind of an EXCLUSIVE party at Disney World! Hollywood Studios While you may not be able to get into some of Disney’s most exclusive events, you should still know about them. Why? Well, because sometimes these events can attract extra CROWDS around the parks and hotels. When we noticed two special ticketed events on the calendar at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in February, we NEEDED to investigate. When we did, we discovered some important things you should keep in mind! There are some special ticketed events going on at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on February 4th and February 11th. We went right to work looking into what this event was for — and we found some answers. Disney’s Hollywood Studios During the first week of February, the National Dance Team Championship will happen in Orlando. One of the main venues for this event will be the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Disney World. The teams taking part in this event will also likely be staying on Disney property, so if you’re planning your trip during this time, keep that in mind. Large groups and dance teams often stay at Disney’s Value Resorts, like All-Star Sports, Music, and Movies. ESPN Wide World of Sports Teams participating in these events also have the opportunity to purchase park tickets to Disney World, so the parks may be more crowded during these times. On top of that, Disney is also hosting a party at Hollywood Studios on February 4th from 9PM to 1AM. After Hours event in Hollywood Studios Along with that, we also found a similar special ticketed event on February 11th. We began looking into that, too, and found that the 2024 Cheerleading Championships will be taking place on February 9th-12th. ESPN Wide World of Sports This event is also hosted by Disney. The teams participating will be staying on Disney property and will have access to multi-day theme park tickets to utilize while they’re at the event. This is also going to be hosted at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. ESPN Wide World of Sports Similar to the National Dance Team Championship, the special ticketed event on February 11th is for those who participated in the 2024 Cheerleading Championships. Mickey in Hollywood Studios! If your trip to Disney World lines up with these events, keep in mind that the crowd levels may increase, and traffic around the parks may be more backed up than usual. Plan accordingly! Chip and Dale! Right now, it looks like Disney’s Hollywood Studios will still be closing at 9PM for park guests on the nights of the parties, but we will update you if that changes as the events get closer. No trip to Disney World is complete without a sweet treat. That’s a rule. (And also a great rhyme.) The Confectionery One of our favorite places to grab a treat is at the iconic Main Street Confectionery in Magic Kingdom. Here, you can choose from a seemingly endless array of treats, from popular Mars Wrigley candies, to crisped rice treats, to cupcakes, cookies, marshmallow pops, and MORE. One of our favorite things to do here, though, is visit the Kernel Kitchen popcorn station at the very back of the shop. Cast Members will allow you to customize a bowl of popcorn with candies and syrups, and you can even opt for one of Disney’s popcorn mixes. They make it right in front of you, and it’s pretty cool. There’s a new popcorn mix that’s up for grabs right now, and we’re headed to check it out. The Sweetheart Popcorn Mix is available for a limited time at the Kernel Kitchen for $13.99. This Valentine’s Day-inspired treat consists of strawberry-flavored candy popcorn, M&Ms, crushed chocolate cookies, mini marshmallows, dark chocolate drizzle, and a white chocolate drizzle. Woah. If you have a sweet tooth, it sounds like this mix will kick it. Sweetheart Popcorn Mix As we were watching them prepare our snack, we were starting to get a little iffy about the strawberry popcorn. We’re all for a sweet and salty combination, but strawberry? This should be interesting. There it is! When your popcorn is finished being prepared, the Cast Members will give it to you in a take-away bowl that has a lid. This is super helpful, because you can save it for later if you don’t finish it. You can pop it in your bag and call it a day This popcorn sure looks pretty, but how will it taste? It’s beeeeeautiful HOLY MOLY. This popcorn mix is SWEET. We enjoyed ours after we’d been walking around in the sun for a bit, so the chocolate and marshmallows had gotten all melty and gooey. The taste of the mix itself reminded us a lot of a s’more with a tiiiiiny hint of strawberry in the middle. It totally works, but brace yourselves: it’s VERY sweet. Yum! It’s like a strawberry s’more! We don’t mind that it’s super sweet, though, because that just means that we can snack on it all day long. It was nice to grab a bite of it here and there for a lil’ somethin’ somethin’ throughout the morning. You can snack on it all day We’d totally recommend this to anyone who loves a sweet and salty combination, wants a fun snack for Valentine’s Day, and loves to combine different snacks to get a ton of different flavors and textures in there. We have some advice, though. Grab a napkin or a wipe. This stuff is MESSY. It’s messy! Plus, you’re honestly getting quite a bit of goodies for the price. Some things are changing in Disney World in 2024. Fort Wilderness cabin First, we’re getting ANOTHER brand new ride with Tiana’s Bayou Attraction. But a lot of changes are happening at Disney World hotels, too. We’re talking new rooms, new restaurants, and more. Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground, though, is getting some brand new Disney Vacation Club (DVC) cabins, but we’ve got a word of warning before you get TOO excited about those. We recently got some new details about these new DVC cabins and we even know that they’ll be open as of July 1st, 2024. The cabins will sleep up to six adults and will have a bedroom, bathroom, living room, full kitchen, and private patio. Some of the cabins will even be dog-friendly. ©Disney So we bet your next question about these cabins is how much they will cost. We got a look at the points costs for these cabins for DVC members…and well, they’re not the most expensive DVC rentals on-property, they’re also not the cheapest. We’d say they’re probably mid-range. As you can see, you’ll spend anywhere from 111 points per week to 232 points per week for one of these cabins, depending on when you stay. Nightly rates run from 15 to 36 points per night. ©Disney By comparison, Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort costs 159 to 351 points per week for a room that sleeps up to five people. Saratoga Springs is probably the “cheapest” of the DVC resorts, so Fort Wilderness might be the better DVC value. However, at other Disney World resorts, you generally have more variety when it comes to types of rooms, so if you need something smaller or larger, a stay at Fort Wilderness might not be right for you. ©Disney We’ll also be curious to see how these new villas will compare in price as DVC rentals. Yes, we love McDonald’s, and we do occasionally jokingly refer to this site as the Disney AND McDonald’s Food Blog. McDonald’s Well, there is a huge McDonald’s on Disney World property. Plus, some of us are old enough to remember getting McDonald’s french fries in the parks. We also spent WAY too much money trying to collect those Disney100 figures from Happy Meals. So, our affinity for the fast food chain is justified, yes? Anyway, we recently learned that a popular McDonald’s breakfast item was returning. We were SO excited…until we learned the truth. So, here’s the good news! The Breakfast Wrap is returning to McDonald’s! You get a pork sausage patty with free-range egg, a potato rosti (basically, something very similar to hash browns), and cheese, all wrapped up in a soft tortilla wrap, as well as your choice of brown sauce or ketchup. It will be available as of February 7th. ©McDonald’s However, there is a big BUT with this announcement. The breakfast wrap is only in the U.K. — and no, we don’t mean the U.K. Pavilion in EPCOT. This is only going to be available across the pond in the actual U.K. You won’t be able to find it here, folks The Breakfast Wrap was discontinued from McDonald’s U.K. menus three years ago, but it was so popular, that McDonald’s decided to bring it back. There has been a change to the wrap, though — instead of folded eggs, the wrap now has two free-range round eggs. So if you happen to find yourself in the U.K., you can treat yourself to a Breakfast Wrap at a McDonald’s there. For those of us in the U.S., though, we’ll just have to stick with our usual Egg McMuffin or Hotcakes with Sausage, we guess. We could always switch it up with a McGriddle, though, right?
