Tons of HUGE announcements just dropped about Universal Orlando’s new theme park, Epic Universe. All of the details about the five immersive lands have us seriously excited for the park’s 2025 opening! The cronos ©Universal Universal confirmed a few new rides that are coming to Epic Universe, and now we’ve discovered a key detail about two of those rides: the height requirements! If you’re thinking about planning a trip, you’ll want to make note of this info so that you know whether your little ones will be able to go on the new rides. The rides that Universal confirmed are both coming to Celestial Park, which is the central hub of Epic Universe. There’s a roller coaster that’s themed to the cosmos and a beautiful carousel! Starfall Racers To ride this coaster, guests will need to be at least 48″ tall. ©Universal Starfall Racers is a dual-launch roller coaster, so two vehicles launch simultaneously and “race” each other! The coaster will reach speeds up to 62 miles per hour, and the track will reach up to 133 feet high. In total, there are 5,000 feet of track. ©Universal The ride vehicles look like comets, and they “race along an inverted crisscross, known as the ‘Celestial Spin’ in a dazzling display of blazing colors and ethereal music.” ©Universal Universal shared this cool fact about the coaster: “With no external track lighting at night, the fully illuminated ride vehicles appear as comets shooting across the night sky above Celestial Park.” Constellation Carousel There is no height requirement for the Constellation Carousel, so the whole family can enjoy this ride. ©Universal This “imaginative carousel” is themed to the constellations. The animals in the carousel include celestial lions, dragons, peacocks, and more. ©Universal Every animal rotates 360 degrees and lifts riders up to six feet in the air! Universal said, “Celestial music and color dazzle your senses as you whirl and twirl together across the Milky Way.” ©Universal We’ll keep watching for more updates from Universal Orlando, so stay tuned to DFB for the latest news. Let’s take a closer look at the most exciting things announced for Celestial Park at Epic Universe so far! Universal Orlando just revealed more details about their upcoming park, Epic Universe. Within Epic Universe, a new land called Celestial Park will be the heart it all. It will also be the first land we’ll encounter at the new theme park after stepping through the entrance. The cronos ©Universal Celestial Park is expected to be made of “rolling gardens, chasing waterways, and strolling pathways,” and it’s really meant to mimic a real, nature-filled park. As soon as you enter the imaginative world, you’ll instantly be immersed in the atmosphere as you wander through “lush living gardens nestled along shimmering waters surrounded by stunning architecture inspired by astronomical and mythological elements.” This land can double as a place to relax while taking in the sights and sounds around you, but visitors will also be able to “take flight across a shooting comet on a roller coaster adventure, dine at brand-new restaurants and cuisines, and shop for exclusive merchandise.” ©Universal As we mentioned before, Celestial Park will be the gateway to explore the four additional worlds of Epic Universe. You’ll need to walk through here first to reach each land, but that doesn’t mean you should skip all there is to do inside Celestial Park! There will be several options to dine at new full-service restaurants like Atlantic and The Blue Dragon Pan-Asian Restaurant… ©Universal … and if you’re looking for something quicker, you can grab a savory selection of barbecue meals at The Oak & Star Tavern and a full assortment of pizza offerings at Pizza Moon. If you’re just in the mood to curb your sweet tooth, Moonship Chocolates & Celestial Sweets is where you’ll want to stop! You’ll be able to satisfy your cravings here with a unique selection of sweet treats, and more. There’s plenty of entertainment to be found here! You can also take a thrilling ride or two on the Starfall Racers… ©Universal … and Constellation Carousel! ©Universal There will even be an interactive wet-play area that will double as a giant compass rose to the whole park. This water display will also feature dancing crystal blue fountains that will spring to life all around you. The water fountains here are capable of reaching up to 135 feet into the air and will perform several fountain shows to music and interactive lighting from daylight through the night. ©Universal All of these new details are making us even more excited to step inside Epic Universe when it finally opens and try these things for ourselves! It’s a REALLY good day to be a theme park fan. Universal Parks – Epic Universe ©Universal Why? Well, Universal just announced all sorts of big news pertaining to Epic Universe — an all-new theme park coming to Universal Orlando in 2025. The area is set to include rides, shops, restaurants, hotels, and so much more. We’ve gotten a first glimpse at what we can expect from Epic Universe, and y’all… We’re so excited. Let’s talk about it! Universal Orlando just shared that Epic Universe will be broken into five immersive lands: the Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Ministry of Magic, Super Nintendo World, How to Train Your Dragon — Isle of Berk, and Dark Universe. However, there will also be an “entrance” land that has portals to the other four lands that features rides and attractions in itself. It’s called Celestial Park, and it’ll be the where folks enter Epic Universe for the first time. It’s like the grand entrance to the new theme park! You’ll enter underneath the cronos — the large clock tower. There will also be portals into the five lands that make up the new park. ©Universal In Celestial park, there will be two rides — Starfall Racers (a dual-launch coaster), and Constellation Carousel, which will serve as the “grand centerpiece” of Celestial Park. There’ll also be a wet-play area, Astronomica, which will serve as a compass to the five lands, and even some shops and restaurants! ©Universal Atlantic will be a full-service “surf and turf” eatery inside a Victorian aquarium, The Blue Dragon Pan-Asian Restaurant will take you on a journey across Asia as you indulge in authentic Chinese cuisine, and you can enjoy barbecue at The Oak & Star Tavern! Pizza Moon will serve up a variety of pizzas, the Super Nintendo Star Store is themed to all things Super Nintendo World, and finally, Moonship Chocolates and Celestial Sweets will be your one-stop shop for all things SWEET. ©Universal We are SO excited about the all-new lands coming to Epic Universe, and can’t wait to experience it all for ourselves when the theme park opens next year. We are so excited to get to share with you brand new details coming to Universal Orlando! ©Universal Universal Orlando has been working on building their all-new theme park, Epic Universe. The theme park is a huge addition to the Universal community of theme parks. Up until now, Universal hadn’t shared many details of the upcoming aspects of the park. For example, the only land we knew for sure that was coming to Epic Universe was Super Nintendo World. The other lands were speculated but not confirmed. Well, now Universal has confirmed 5 new lands, 3 new attractions, and 5 new restaurants! You know we’re always excited about new food, so let’s take a look at these new dining locations. There will be a wide variety of new foods and dining experiences within Epic Universe! From full-service restaurants to quick pizza joints, the park will have it all. ©Universal Celestial Park will be the theme park’s central land where you will first enter into. From there, you’ll travel through portals to each of the different lands. So far, Universal has only announced restaurants for this land, Celestial Park. So you know a lot is yet to come! ©Universal First, Celestial Park will feature a full-service “surf and turf” restaurant called Atlantic. It will be inside a Victorian aquarium and have beautiful views of Celestial Park. Then, you can enjoy The Blue Dragon Pan-Asian Restaurant where you can enjoy flavors of Asia with authentic Chinese, Japanese, and Thai meals. It will also be a full-service location featuring neon dragons and ethereal lanterns! ©Universal For quicker meals, you’ll be able to enjoy The Oak & Star Tavern for some tasty barbecue or Pizza Moon for a variety of pizza! And if you’re in the mood for some sweets, don’t forget to swing by Moonship Chocolates & Celestial Sweets. ©Universal We can’t wait to get our hands on this grub! Who else is STOKED about the addition of Epic Universe to Universal Orlando? Universal Parks – Epic Universe ©Universal The new theme park is currently set to open in 2025, and is set to bring new rides, attractions, restaurants, hotels, shops, and MORE. We just got news on one of the lands that you’ll be able to visit in Epic Universe, and it’s bringing new RIDES. Let’s talk about it! Universal Orlando just shared that Epic Universe will feature FIVE super immersive lands that you’ll be able to wander through during your visit. You’ll first enter Celestial Park, which is the heart of Epic Universe. Here, there will be “portals” to other immersive worlds: the Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Ministry of Magic, Super Nintendo World, How to Train Your Dragon — Isle of Berk, and Dark Universe. In Celestial Park, you’ll be able to ride TWO new rides! The first one is Starfall Racers, a dual-launch racing coaster that’ll take you soaring through the skies to see who’s the fastest of them all. You’ll reach speeds up to 62 miles per hour and heights up to 133 feet. Oh, and the track is 5,000 feet long! ©Universal Next up, you’ll be able to ride Constellation Carousel, which is the “grand centerpiece” of Celestial Park. This is a family-friendly ride that will allow you to spin around aboard constellations. You’ll go forward, backward, and even make 360-degree spins! ©Universal There will also be a play area called Astronomica, which is a wet-play area that will double as a compass to the other immersive things you can do in Epic Universe! Universal did give us a glimpse of one more ride, though. The intention was to create another chapter of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, which can be found in the new Ministry of Magic land! Here, you’ll explore lore from Fantastic Beasts as well as the British Ministry of Magic. As for the ride here, Universal says it’ll have to be a surprise. We have a feeling it’s gonna be good. ©Universal We’ll be sure to keep you updated with more news, so make sure to follow along for more. Looking for more on Epic Universe? Click here! A NEW theme park is opening in Orlando in 2025, and now we know a TON more about what will be inside! ©Universal | Epic Universe Concept Art Universal Orlando Resort is opening Universal Epic Universe in 2025. While we knew a little bit about the new park already, including details about some new hotels coming as part of the project, Universal just released a bunch of incredible details about it, including an overview of every themed land that will be inside! Universal has called Epic Universe “its most ambitious theme park yet.” In a recent press release, they announced, “Epic Universe will present a level of theme park immersion and innovation that is unmatched – transporting guests to expansive worlds featuring more than 50 awe-inspiring attractions, entertainment, dining, and shopping experiences that come together to create an unforgettable adventure that is nothing short of epic.” ©Universal In the same announcement, Universal Orlando revealed details about the five themed lands that will make up Epic Universe: Celestial Park, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, SUPER NINTENDO WORLD, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, and Dark Universe. Celestial Park It sounds like Celestial Park will be the main hub of Epic Universe. Universal said that this land “will be the gateway to explore the four additional worlds of Epic Universe.” ©Universal According to Universal’s announcement, “Celestial Park puts the ‘park’ back in ‘theme park.’ As soon as guests enter the imaginative world, they’ll embark on a journey of discovery, thrills, and excitement as they wander through lush living gardens nestled along shimmering waters surrounded by stunning architecture inspired by astronomical and mythological elements.” ©Universal Celestial Park won’t just be an ordinary park, though. There will also be an “exhilarating roller coaster adventure” where guests “board a shooting comet.” In addition, there will be some restaurants and merchandise shops. ©Universal From Celestial Park, guests can travel “through a set of majestic portals” to visit the other four lands. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic This will be the third Harry Potter-themed land at Universal Orlando. ©Universal In this land, “guests will discover a different era of the wizarding world in an all-new land that blends 1920s wizarding Paris from Warner Bros. Pictures’ Fantastic Beasts films with the iconic British Ministry of Magic from the Harry Potter series.” SUPER NINTENDO WORLD We’ve already seen a Super Nintendo World at Universal Hollywood, but now one is coming to Orlando, too! ©Universal Universal said, “Guests will enter the iconic green pipe and discover a new way to play as they step into the worlds of beloved characters like Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, and Donkey Kong.” How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk We can’t wait to explore this new land, which is themed to How To Train Your Dragon. ©Universal According to Universal’s announcement, “Gests can soar with dragons in a colorful world filled with Viking adventures.” Dark Universe The final themed land is Dark Universe. ©Universal Universal said that visitors will “encounter everything from the experiments of Dr. Victoria Frankenstein to the shadowy landscape where monsters roam in a world of myth and mystery.” It’s so exciting to finally know more about Epic Universe! It is STILL January. Is it just us or does it feel like January has lasted 584 days? It looks gloomy and cold in Magic Kingdom! It feels like ages ago that we rang in the new year. Unfortunately, we’re still in the winter months. Now, that doesn’t always mean cold winter weather in Disney World. Some days we’ve seen it nearing 80 degrees in Disney World this month. But the next couple of days are here to remind us that, yes, we are still in January. According to Matt Devitt from WINK News on X, Florida is going to be going back into a cold snap. By Tuesday morning, the Disney World area will be looking at temperatures around 40 degrees, possibly colder! via Matt Devitt on X/Twitter The cute little lizard friend softened the blow of the news for us. He was looking pretty cute in his little snow hat. But for real, we’ve got another lizard warning on our hands for the next couple of days! via Matt Devitt on X/Twitter If you’re headed to the parks in the next couple of days, be sure to bundle up! Some great essentials like jackets, sweaters, hats, and gloves will make your time in the parks much more enjoyable. If you’re looking for a place to warm up, check out one of the many indoor shows or dining locations. Columbia Harbour House We hope the cold doesn’t bother you, anyway! Disney is always ready with last-minute warm gear to save the day. Enjoy these cool days because January does have to end, eventually, and then the heat will strike. Disney switches up their menu offerings pretty often. Nearly as often, we don’t even get a heads up! Hungry Bear Restaurant We pay close attention to all the different menus around Disney World and Disneyland to let you know when something changes. If you’ve been looking for a quick option to scarf down while you’re exploring Disneyland, this new option over at Hungry Bear Restaurant may be right up your alley. This quick-service eatery provides an open-air dining spot where you can grub on hearty dishes like burgers, chicken sandwiches, hearty salads, and even loaded sides. There’s something new at Hungry Bear, though, and we’re headed to check it out! Hungry Bear Restaurant now offers Adult On-The-Go Boxes, which come with your choice of entree, two sides, a beverage, and your choice of a Nestlé® Mickey’s Ice Cream Bar or Outshine® Strawberry Fruit Bar for $35. On The Go Boxes We decided to grab the BBQ Ribs meal and give it a try. BBQ Ribs On-The-Go Meal The best part about this meal was the ribs by far — the meat was tender and came right off the bone. The Wings The sauce had a sweet BBQ flavor with a little bit of a tang and a hint of smoky BBQ, which we loved. Ribs Both of the sides were just okay. The mashed potatoes had a slight buttery flavor but that was it — there wasn’t much going on with them. Mashed Potatoes The broccoli was steamed and had a bit of a sweet, earthy flavor, and while the texture wasn’t super soft and mushy, it wasn’t too hard or crunchy either. Broccoli The Mickey Ice Cream Bar was the classic dessert you’d get at any stand, so while we enjoyed it, it wasn’t anything special. Classic Mickey Ice Cream Bar If you’re looking for something REALLY quick that you can walk around the park and eat, this is a good option, but we really don’t think it’s worth the money. In fact, you can order a normal entree, beverage, and dessert at this restaurant for LESS than this On-The-Go Box. Plus, the typical entrees we’ve had here have been better. ©Disney Overall, we don’t think this is a great route to go for most people, especially if they want more options for their dining. Plus, a lot of folks probably don’t want to spend an arm and a leg when they could spend less at the same spot. However, dining in at the restaurant is more expensive (by about $3), and it comes with a Fantasmic! dining package. So by buying the On-The-Go box, you don’t have to pay a few extra dollars if you don’t care about having special seating for Fantasmic!. As huge Disney fans, we are always visiting the parks. Sleeping Beauty Castle If we had it our way, we’d plan back-to-back Disney World and Disneyland trips. But… let’s face it. Flights between Florida and California are long and expensive. That is… until now! We found what we think could be a GREAT flight deal from Orlando to Anaheim! Breeze Airways is a fan-favorite low-cost airline that provides great flight options for those traveling on a budget. Breeze is known for delivering low-fare options in 3 respective tiers: Nice, Nicer, and Nicest. (In other words: cheap, cheaper, and CHEAPEST.) We found some new flights to Disneyland from Disney World included in the deals, and these are great options for those of you hoping to visit the parks back-to-back. Fluffy clouds! We found flights to Disneyland from Disney World as early as May, and we found one-way tickets for as low as $124. Round-trip, you’re looking at $316. ©Breeze $316 round-trip isn’t terrible. Prices are usually quite a bit pricier for flights between these destinations, so this is a great deal. We even tried dates during the peak of the summer travel season, and found one-way flights for as low as $134. ©Breeze That’s only $313 round-trip! Keep in mind, though, that these pricing options come from looking at the basic flight tickets. These prices don’t include extra fees or the price of a checked bag. Each tier upgrade will run you at least $100, but will come with additional features such as an included checked bag, extra legroom, a carry on, and snacks. Flight prices are way down We noticed that Breeze Airways has limited booking windows to certain destinations. A lot of flights are unavailable on what we would consider to be convenient travel days. So, just keep that in mind when booking! You might have to be a little extra flexible. Check out the deals for yourself! We’ll continue to keep you updated with more Disney news, including cheap airfare, so make sure to follow along so that you never miss a thing. For more airline news, click here! Many Disney World guests love staying at Disney hotels for the magic, ambiance, and the perks of staying on property. Disney’s BoardWalk Inn However, there are a few downfalls to staying on property — the highest price tags, there aren’t as many perks as there were a few years ago, and if you get back from the parks late and want a snack, many of the dining locations in the hotels don’t stay open very late. This also means that it’s hard to refill a resort refillable mug until the morning, which can be annoying. But what if we told you there’s a loophole? Many of the drink stations around Disney World hotels, especially the value resorts, will close with the restaurants early in the night, meaning you won’t be able to refill your mug until the morning. Refill Station at Pop Century However, we’ve tested out a new tip at three hotels that we know work, and we’ll continue to check it out at others. Over at Pop Century Resort, the refill station out at Petals Pool Bar is open 24/7, even when the pool bar is closed! Petals Pool Bar This is also the case over at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, where the drink station at Banana Cabana Pool Bar is also open 24/7… Drink Station at Banana Cabana Pool Bar …as is the refill station at Drop Off Pool Bar at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort! This is a MASSIVE game changer, especially for those who get the Disney Dining Plan and have resort refillable mugs for each person in their party. Drink Station at Drop Off Pool Bar We’ll continue to investigate around the other hotels to see if this is the same case, but know that you can at least head to these three to refill your mugs late at night. One of the absolute BEST parts of visiting Disney World is checking out the seemingly endless list of live entertainment. Festival of Fantasy From fireworks shows to parades, there’s some sort of live entertainment option in each of the Disney World parks, some even taking place multiple times a day. One of the most iconic parades to take place in Disney World happens each day at Magic Kingdom — the Festival of Fantasy parade! Each day at 3PM, you can catch all of the most beloved classic Disney characters as they dance their way from Frontierland to Main Street, U.S.A.. If you love the Festival of Fantasy parade, or you’re hoping to catch it for the first time on your upcoming Disney trip, you’re going to want to keep reading! There’s been an IMPORTANT (and super exciting) update to the Festival of Fantasy schedule! Festival of Fantasy Parade Starting February 18th, Festival of Fantasy will go back to two showtimes per day! These shows will take place daily at both 12PM and 3PM. Right now, we can only see through March 2nd on Disney’s calendar, but it seems that this change will stick around for now! Anna and Elsa in the Festival of Fantasy parade There are usually two showtimes per day, but on January 16th, Magic Kingdom reduced them to only one showing per day. The showings switch between one and two times daily a few times per year. Cinderella! We’ll be sure to let you know if and when the showtimes change again, so make sure to follow along so that you don’t miss a thing. Looking for MORE on entertainment in Disney World? Click here! There’s a NEW treat in EPCOT right now, but it’s ONLY for a select group of people. EPCOT Starting on January 29th, Disney World Annual Passholders can get an exclusive treat at Connections Café in EPCOT. We headed in to try it out, and now we’ve got a full review for you! The Hei Hei Liege Waffle is a new Passholder-exclusive treat at Connections Café! Connections Cafe & Eatery in EPCOT Connections Café is the Starbucks location in EPCOT’s World Celebration area, and it’s attached to the Connections Eatery quick service restaurant. Entering Connections Cafe The Hei Hei Liege Waffle is made with brioche dough, and it’s topped with pearl sugar, a colorful chocolate drizzle, and a Hei Hei white chocolate medallion. You can grab one for $4.19. Here it is! The first thing you’ll notice about this treat is how stinkin’ cute it is! Who WOULDN’T want a waffle with Hei Hei on the front?! So cute! The next thing you’ll notice is that the Hei Hei Waffle is COVERED in sugar. Seriously, this is a kid’s DREAM come true. With all the sugar and icing on top, it reminded us more of a donut than a waffle, even though Liege waffles are traditionally coated in a sugar crust. This one was EXTRA sugary. EXTRA sugary Since it’s so sweet, we’d recommend splitting the Hei Hei waffle with a friend. If you don’t have a pretty big sweet tooth, you might want to skip this one altogether! Although it’s super pretty (and probably great for your Insta feed), it can be a lot with all the sweet additions. Inside the waffle If you want to grab this treat, you need to head to EPCOT soon. It’s only available from now through February 23rd. Grab it soon! To purchase the waffle, you will need to present your Annual Pass ID from the Tickets and Passes section of your My Disney Experience app, along with a valid government-issued ID. Disney World Annual Pass This treat isn’t the only Hei Hei-themed Annual Passholder offering in EPCOT right now. Over at the Creations Shop (also located in World Celebration in EPCOT), Passholders can now pick up their Hei Hei magnet! Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana The magnets are also available from now through February 23rd, and you’ll need your Annual Pass and government-issued ID to pick one up. Learn more about how to get the new magnet here! Passholders, don’t forget that, to enter EPCOT, you’ll either need a Park Pass Reservation, to visit on a “Good-to-Go” day, or to visit after 2PM. You can learn more about “Good-to-Go” days — including how to view them online and in the app — here! Stay tuned to DFB for the latest Disney news and updates! If you can’t get enough Pirates of the Caribbean in your life — we know the feeling. Pirates of the Caribbean in Magic Kingdom Whether it’s the first ride you swiftly walk to in Disney World and Disneyland, a comforting movie you cozy up to on a weekend or anything in between — Pirates has certainly gained itself a cult following. A new Pirates of the Caribbean experience is coming soon, but not where you might think! Did you know that part of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies were filmed in Wallilabou, St. Vincent and the Grenadines? It’s true — and that’s exactly why a Pirates-themed experience is being built there! Pirates of the Caribbean Disneyland According to the St. Vincent Times, “Tourists and locals alike are expected to get a sense of the set used by Captain Jack Sparrow in the iconic Pirates of the Caribbean film, which was shot in Wallilabou, St Vincent, by 2025.” This new experience is expected to provide a “significant boost” to the island, per St. Vincent’s Minister of Tourism, Carlos James. Construction is slated to begin at some point in 2024. Pirates of the Caribbean James shared, “We are looking at scouting lands closest to the beach to accommodate the state-of-the-art theme park, which will include a restaurant, pool, and more. This year, we will also explore and [conceptualize] designs for a Pirates of the Caribbean-themed park at Wallilabou. It is important that we look at how we can further develop our tourism product offering. We have to ensure that we have all of the right services and sites that meet quality standards to ensure that people who come to the destination can really see the true benefit of our product.” ©Disney The theme park will incorporate design aspects from the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise and will include “a state-of-the-art themed park, restaurant, a full-on area, a pool, and, naturally, beach access for persons coming by sea.” We don’t know about you, but we might be booking a trip to St. Vincent in the near future! Disney World snacks are life! Citrus Dream Donut You might say “We’re here for the snacks” and it would be totally true. But not all snacks are made the same. You might find the snacks that we LOVE to be, shall we say, not your favorite? Let’s talk about it! Let’s talk about the Disney World snacks that might not be your favorites, but we can’t get enough of them! Plastic Cheese We LOVE Plastic Cheese! That’s our affectionate name for the little cups of cheese sauce you can find at some quick service spots around Disney World, but it’s NOT the same as the cheese sauce that you get prepackaged when you buy a Mickey pretzel. This cheese has a richer cheesy flavor and it’s usually served warm instead of cold and goopy. Fries with plastic cheese at Backlot Express It’s not actually plastic, either. That’s just a name that we came up with because it looks so smooth and fake once it’s poured into the cup. But it’s absolutely delicious for dipping your French fries or corn dog nugs. Dip Those Corn Dog Nuggets Turkey Leg Yes, the Jumbo Turkey Legs are ICONIC. They’re also EXTREMELY controversial (some fans love them and some hate them). Our team is split right down the middle with loving and hating them too. Turkey Leg When you’re eating this snack, you feel like you’re a caveman straight from the Mesozoic Era! Turkey Leg at Prince Eric’s Village Market Also, this snack isn’t just a snack — it’s a MEAL! You’ll definitely need to do some laps of the parks to walk off the 1,000 calories you’ll take in with a turkey leg! Fuzzy Tauntaun Ext up, we’ve got the Fuzzy Tauntaun! It’s an ICONIC drink you can typically find at Oga’s Cantina in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. The drink is made with Cîroc Peach Vodka, Bols Peach Schnapps, Simply® Orange with Tangerine, Pure Cane Sugar, and “Buzz Button Tingling” Foam. That “Buzz Button Tingling” foam is what makes your mouth go numb when drinking it. We’re not kidding folks, you truly feel NUMB!! Fuzzy TaunTaun The foam gets this effect from an ingredient mixed into it which is a natural painkiller derived from a special Szechuan flower known as “Buzz Buttons.” The sensation is pretty bizarre, but also VERY entertaining. It wears off pretty fast so you aren’t stuck feeling numb for too long! They don’t call it the FUZZY Tauntaun for nothing! While it can make you feel like you’re at the dentist getting a filling, it’s definitely got a great peach flavor! Everglazed Donuts Last up, we’ve got to talk about Everglazed Donuts & Cold Brew. You’ll find it over on the West Side of Disney Springs. Here you can find some pretty amazing specialty donuts and cold brew coffee. Everglazed Donuts They also have the occasional limited edition donut, like this Grilled Cheeeeeese sandwich is iconic. Grilled Cheeeeeese Bacon Donut Sandwich Hack Some of our team likes their donuts even more than Gideon’s cookies, whereas others on the team call blasphemy on that! Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom Those are just a couple of our favorite snacks that might not normally be number one on your list. Disney World’s Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel may be closed for good, but that might not be the end of the story. Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser The immersive, cruise-like experience was shuttered after it turned out that the cost to run the hotel was too much compared to the amount of money it was bringing in. Disney hasn’t made any sort of announcements about what could be next for the space or if we’d ever see anything like the Star Wars Hotel again, but we think we may have found our first hint. We still may not have an official answer, but we do have a sign — and we’ll take it! Disney World has filed a new permit for construction at the Star Wars Hotel. Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser Atrium A Notice of Commencement was filed on January 25th, 2024 for “General Construction” at an address that matches up with the former Galactic Starcruiser (201 S. Studio Dr.) The contractor who will be doing the work is listed as Sunstate Awning & Graphic Design, Inc., so it’s possible that these will be some cosmetic changes and not necessarily a huge demolition or anything like that. Climate Simulator Permits need to be filed for all sorts of work, sometimes even minor, so while this permit is exciting it doesn’t give us too many details. Captain Kevan of the Halcyon But, it does mean that we could start to see even more Star Wars Hotel permits on the way as Disney ramps up their plans for this location. We spotted another permit back in October for general construction, and we know that Disney was sending surveys out to past guests to ask about their experience. Crown of Corellia Dining Room No matter what, it’s clear that Disney does have plans for the Star Wars Hotel. What those plans might be, we’re not quite sure yet. One thing is for sure, we’ll be on the lookout for more permits and news about what could be on the way for this space — so stay tuned to DFB for the latest news! Does Disney World even have a slow season anymore? Cinderella Castle Sure, the holiday season may be over, but can you really count on wait times to go down in the parks come January? Planning a Disney World trip certainly isn’t easy, and when you’ve got long lines and crowds to worry about, things can get overwhelming pretty quickly. But, that’s where we come in! We’re taking a look at the average wait times for Disney World’s most popular rides in January and giving you our BEST tips on how you can experience them! Now, keep in mind that not all Disney World rides are created equally. Some have standby lines where you just walk right into the line and wait, some have Virtual Queues, and then there are the Lightning Lanes and Individual Lightning Lanes. We’ll get into our top tips for getting on popular rides later — but just remember this. Magic Kingdom When it comes to popular rides in Magic Kingdom, there’s one that takes the cake right now — TRON Lightcycle / Run! It’s the newest attraction to come to the park and because of that, you can only ride it via Virtual Queue or Individual Lightning Lane. And, that means there’s no posted standby wait time for us to dig into! TRON Lightcycle / Run But, that doesn’t mean you won’t find yourself waiting in some long lines. In January, the rides with the highest waits were Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at 81 minutes, Peter Pan’s Flight at 64 minutes, and Space Mountain at 57 minutes — on average. With average waits hovering around an hour for popular rides, you may want to consider purchasing Genie+ for your trip. EPCOT Over in EPCOT, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is another similar case — you can only ride via Virtual Queue or Individual Lightning Lane — so we don’t have an average wait for the month of January. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind What we do have, though, are wait times for two of the most popular rides in EPCOT. Frozen Ever After in the Norway Pavilion follows the story of Anna and Elsa, and because it’s so popular it had an average wait of 72 minutes in January. In the France Pavilion, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure actually beat out Frozen for the highest average wait at 80 minutes. Hollywood Studios Hollywood Studios is teeming with iconic rides, and because of that, you’ll often find yourself waiting just a bit longer than you might for attractions at other parks. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is known for having a long wait, and the average for January was a whopping 91 minutes — but that wasn’t even the highest average in this park! Rise of the Resistance Slinky Dog Dash in Toy Story Land just barely edged out Rise with an average wait of 99 minutes this month, and even though it was partially closed for refurbishment this month, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith was the ride with the highest average wait at 104 minutes! Animal Kingdom The two most popular rides in Animal Kingdom also happen to be in the same land — Pandora: The World of Avatar! This expansion brought new life to the park, and with it, some seriously intense crowds. Flight of Passage It’s probably no surprise that Flight of Passage had the highest average wait in the park — and in all of Disney World — for January. Folks waited an average of 106 minutes for this ride! Na’vi River Journey also had average waits of over an hour at 65 minutes. So, How Do You Get on These Rides? A Virtual Queue is available through the My Disney Experience app and allows guests to reserve a space in line for the most popular park attractions. This space is referred to as a Boarding Pass for use within an assigned Boarding Group. TRON Lighting Lane If a ride is utilizing a Virtual Queue, that means there is NO traditional standby line available, so getting a space in a Boarding Group through a Virtual Queue is the only way you’ll be able to ride. Right now, only two Disney World rides are using Virtual Queues — Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT and TRON Lightcycle / Runat Magic Kingdom. Read Our Step-by-Step Instructions for Getting a Virtual Queue Boarding Group Here Suppose you don’t feel like waiting in the regular, standby line for an attraction when available or missed out on snagging a Virtual Queue Boarding Group. In that case, you can also opt to purchase Genie+ or Individual Lightning Lanes. The Disney Genie Plus base-price option lets guests select the next available time to arrive at an attraction and enter that attraction’s Lightning Lane. Hollywood Studios Individual Lightning Lane Selection is a pay-per-ride service. You’d pay a fee to utilize the Lightning Lane for an individual, in-demand attraction. Individual Lightning Lanes allow you to select return times to enter the Lightning Lane for a maximum of two specific, more popular attractions. Essentially, you’re paying extra to guarantee a spot on the ride without having to wait in the standby line or try for a Virtual Queue. Expedition Everest Here’s a list of all the Individual Lightning Lane attractions in Disney World: Seven Dwarfs Mine Train (Magic Kingdom) TRON Lightcycle / Run (Magic Kingdom) Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind (EPCOT) Avatar Flight of Passage (Animal Kingdom) Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance (Hollywood Studios) Hollywood Studios If you’re staying at a Disney World hotel, you can also take advantage of Early Entry at the parks, and Deluxe Resort guests can participate in Extended Evening Hours on select nights. We also recommend trying to rope drop popular rides (meaning get there as soon as they open) and waiting until the end of the night to walk on popular rides. Check Out Our FULL GUIDE To Using Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lanes in Disney World Here Well, there you have it! It’s clear that while wait times have gone down since the holiday season in Disney World, there are still a few popular rides that will almost always have a bit of a wait, but as long as you’ve got these tips in your back pocket you can still have a good time. You’re probably aware that some of our favorite snacks in Disney World are the Dole Whips. Aloha Isle All around Disney World, you can find a variety of the delicious fruit-flavored ice cream. You can try floats, cups, serenades, and even cake topped with the delicious treat. There are lots of different flavors, too, like pineapple and orange. It just depends on which counter you stop at for which options you have. But now, it turns out that one popular Dole Whip location is down one option. Aloha Isle is a refreshment location in Adventureland in Magic Kingdom. It’s known for its delicious and refreshing Dole Whip ice cream treats. Aloha Isle Refreshments At Aloha Isle, you can pick up a Tropical Serenade with pineapple-orange-guava juice, coconut soft-serve, and an upside-down pineapple cake pop. Or you can grab a Pineapple Float with Dole pineapple juice with a choice of pineapple Dole whip, vanilla Dole whip, or swirl. There are a few other tasty items on the snack list, but one item has disappeared from the menu — Raspberry Dole Whip. Raspberry Dole Whip We checked with a Cast Member, and it turns out that the Raspberry Dole Whip was taken off the menu at Aloha Isle on January 21st. It is possible that they are preparing to get a new flavor, but we don’t know for sure, yet. Raspberry Pineapple Swirl Dole Whip! We’re sad to see this flavor option disappear from one of our favorite snack spots, but the Cast Members did remind us that it has moved to the Refreshment Outpost in EPCOT. Guess we’ll just have to hop to EPCOT with our park hopper when we get a craving for raspberry! Refreshment Outpost If you’re looking to get Dole Whips, try out Aloha Isle, the Refreshment Outpost, or Pineapple Lanai at Disney’s Polynesian Resort. As we said, there is a wide variety of flavors and styles — and they’re all great! We’ll be keeping an eye out for a new flavor to pop up in Magic Kingdom, but until then, keep following DFB for more Disney news! Disney RECIPE: Make Pineapple DOLE Whip At Home!
