  2. Disney World has been such a busy place! BoardWalk Inn Entrance There has been constant construction and change at EPCOT, news restaurants have just opened in Disney Springs, and even Disney’s Boardwalk Inn has seen a lot of changes recently. Speaking of the Boardwalk Inn, we took a tour of one of its newest rooms, so let’s take a look! As we previously mentioned, earlier we got a look at some of the renovations happening inside BoardWalk Inn, including new hallways and new carpet throughout the hotel, and we noticed that the overall new color scheme is very BoardWalk-like with a lot of teals and whites. Now we know that has carried over to the newly renovated rooms! Refurnished Room Let’s start with a look from the entryway. Room Entranceway There are three big closet doors to the left where you’ll find your normal storage and extra pillow and blanket… Inside the closet …and to the right, you have the restroom. Sink and mirror To the right of this space you’ll find the toilet and shower. Toilet and Shower Here’s a look at the in-shower dispensers of body wash, shampoo, and conditioner: In-shower dispensers Here’s a look inside the shower: Shower The tile work is really quite impressive. Shower tile work Now, back into the entryway for our first proper look into the main space. Room Entranceway To our left before reaching the beds, we see the coffee station. Have a look at the artwork featuring the hotel and Mickey and Minnie picnicking in front of it: Coffee Station and Artwork There’s everything you need for your morning brew: Coffee Station Moving from there, The beds have a teal and gold plaid headboard. View of the beds Here’s a straightforward view: Bed Each of the beds has its own side table. The outlets have USB outlets, as well. Side table with outlet There are also reading lights integrated into the headboards of the beds. Reading light The wall has artwork of Mickey, Minnie, and Pluto on the walls with a very turn-of-the-century flair. Artwork Between the beds, you’ll find the room phone and “Hey Disney!” Room Phone and “Hey Disney!” Opposite the beds, you’ll find the TV, main dresser, and pullout couch. TV, dresser, and pullout couch Take a look at the artwork above the couch: Artwork closeup Here’s a closeup of the other piece: Artwork closeup Next to the couch is a cute lamp with some Mickey heads on it. Lamp Let’s have a closer look at the room curtain behind the lamp. Curtain closeup On the curtain, you can see the silhouettes of Mickey… Mickey’s silhouette on curtains …Minnie, Minnie’s silhouette on curtains …Donald, Donald’s silhouette on curtains …Daisy, Daisy’s silhouette on curtains …Goofy, Goofy’s silhouette on curtains …and Pluto. Pluto’s silhouette on curtains You’ll find the only other piece of furniture in the corner right before heading out to the balcony. Sitting chair Now let’s head out to the balcony. Doors to balcony Here’s what the balcony looks like: Balcony And, when you look out of the balcony, there’s a view of the courtyard. Courtyard view The new rooms look so modern but still manage to capture that BoardWalk vibe. We’re big fans of the refurbished look. 3. If you’ve been following along with The Walt Disney Company news at all for the past year or so, then you’ve probably heard about the ongoing battle between Disney and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. Reedy Creek Disney and DeSantis’s Central Florida Tourism Oversight District Board have been fighting for control over Disney’s special tax district. DeSantis stripped Disney of rights over the former Reedy Creek Improvement District after Disney publicly opposed the governor’s decision to pass the Parental Rights in Education Act. Disney then claimed that this was a violation of federal rights, arguing that there had been a “relentless campaign to weaponize government power” against Disney to punish them for their political views. Since then, DeSantis filed a lawsuit against Disney to attempt to undo agreements made between Disney and the former Reedy Creek Improvement District. From there, things get pretty complicated. Disney then subpoenaed internal communications records from DeSantis’s office, and requested that these items be delivered no later than October 27th, 2023. Disney has claimed that DeSantis’s office never submitted the records, and filed a lawsuit because of that. Then, Disney filed a separate lawsuit, saying that DeSantis violated Florida’s public record law “by failing to properly preserve documents and turn them over in a timely manner, opening another front in an ongoing legal feud.” ©Governor Ron DeSantis Website Now, per the Orlando Sentinel, DeSantis and his Central Florida Tourism Oversight Board agreed on January 25th to a June 24th trial date for Disney’s public record lawsuit against them. Here’s what the trial timeline will look like: February 23: Amended pleadings and motions April 12: Completion of facts and expert discovery March 1: Written discovery Mid-to-late March: Mediation (if necessary or agreed to) June 17: Pre-trail meeting June 24: Trial begins Disney vs. DeSantis We have a feeling that this is by no means a step toward the end of the battle, as this is still a separate lawsuit than the ongoing issues between the two parties. Nonetheless, we’ll be sure to keep you updated with more Disney news, so make sure to follow along for more. 4. One Disneyland spot has CHANGED for a limited time! Paradise Garden Grill Paradise Garden Grill is a year-round snack spot in Disney California Adventure, but when festivals come around, it often features limited-time eats. That’s exactly what is happening right now with the arrival of the Lunar New Year celebration (which will only last through February 18th, 2024!). But are any of these limited-time snacks worth trying? Let’s find out together! Menu On the menu at Paradise Garden Grill, you’ll find quite a few festival eats — some of which are new, others of which are returning. There is a NEW plant-based item, a WHOLE fish served family-style for 2, and even Boba Tea. ©Disney So, let’s check it all out and see what’s worth your cash. Eats First up is the Whole Fish! This is served family-style for two with steamed rice and stir-fried vegetables, and black vinegar and soy sauce with sugar, garlic, and red Fresno chile. It’s priced at $29.99. This year, Disney has marked the item as “new,” but whole fish as a general concept isn’t new to this food spot during the Lunar New Year. In 2022 & 2023, we had a whole fried fish with sweet and sour sauce (that came with steamed rice, stir-fried veggies, and chicken soup). This year, they’ve replaced the sweet and sour sauce with a zesty, new black vinegar and soy sauce glaze. Whole Fish Last year, we received a fish that was tiny and nearly burnt to a crisp. The sauce also did not do it for us. This year, though, this fish is PERFECTION. The new sauce is way better, and we liked the little kick the chili peppers and ginger give it. The texture is good, too. Closer look We will warn you, though: there are a lot of bones in it, so eat it carefully. What’s left Next up is the returning Shrimp Lo Mein. This made of lo mein noodles tossed with shrimp, mushrooms, onions, carrots, and bok choy. It can be all yours for $15.49. Last year, we thought this was a tasty dish loaded with flavor and a good portion size. Shrimp Lo Mein You can also get Pork Bánh Mì here. That is made with grilled pork belly with pickled carrots, cucumbers, daikon, and jalapeños, with a spicy mayo, and it is priced at $14.49. In past years, we had essentially the same dish. When we had it in 2022, the Banh Mi was VERY refreshing — yes, we just called a sandwich refreshing! The fresh baguette and crisp veggies gave the sandwich a lovely texture, which combined well with the savory pork. When we tried again in 2023, the addition of the spicy mayo on top just gives it the extra touch to push things from good to GREAT! Banh Mi You can also get the returning Bulgogi Fried Rice. This is made with kimchi, egg, pickled cucumber, green onion, and sesame seeds. The dish is plant-based and is priced at $14.49. A returning classic is the Korean BBQ chicken served with steamed rice and stir-fried vegetables, served family-style for two and is priced at $29.99. In past festivals, this dish was delicious, but it didn’t stand out that much. It was basically your average barbecue with some Korean-inspired flavors, but nothing to write home about! Korean-style chicken Looking for something sweet? Paradise Garden Grill has you covered with the Mango Pudding. This dessert is made with a hint of coconut milk topped with mango and a chocolate décor and is priced at $6.99. Mango Pudding Okay, so we were kinda’ just “meh” about this dessert. The pudding did have a fresh mango flavor, especially with the fruit topping. However, we thought this dessert was small, especially considering the price. We also didn’t taste the hint of coconut milk. Drinks First up we have the Tiger Milk Boba Tea with brown sugar. This is a non-alcoholic drink that is priced at $6.99 This is a returning drink we’ve had a previous Lunar New Year festivals, the Tiger Milk Tea that had brown sugar boba. We really liked the previous version and found that it had a good amount of sweetness with an almost maple syrup vibe (in a good way!). Tiger Milk Tea Next is a new beverage, the Yuja Makgeolli Cocktail. This is made with citrus-flavored rice wine, soju, and a splash of Sprite. It’s priced at $17. This is a sweet and fruity change up from previous years when the cocktails were on the spicier side with ginger and even Fresno chile! You can also get the Four Sons Brewing Lucky Dragon IPA here for $14.25. Or you can pick up the Lotus Flower Glow Cube for $6.50. Lotus Flower Glowing Cube from 2023 Overall This year brings a lot of old favorites to Paradise Garden Grill, but if you’re an adventurous eater, we can’t recommend the Whole Fish enough. It’s been given a HUGE upgrade from last year and we believe it’s high-end restaurant quality this year. However, we’d skip the mango pudding. Although it was tasty, we didn’t feel it was worth the price, especially with how many other sweet treats you can get at the festival. 7. Disney has a LOT of plans for movies over the next few years, although some releases ended up getting delayed due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. ©Marvel But we have a LOT to look forward to in 2024, including Inside Out 2, and Mufasa: The Lion King. However, one of the most anticipated Disney movies of the year is a Marvel film, Deadpool 3. Well, that movie was also delayed due to the strikes, but it WILL come out this year and we now have confirmation that the production has finished filming. Deadpool himself, Ryan Reynolds, posted on social media that filming has finally been completed on Deadpool 3. Reynolds also praised the film’s cast and crew in his post. Deadpool 3 will be the first Deadpool movie to fully fall under the Disney umbrella after Disney purchased 20th Century Fox — which produced the first two Deadpool films. The film will also be the 34th movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Reynolds and Jackman are joined by Morena Baccarin, Karan Soni, Leslie Uggams, Jennifer Garner, and more. ©Marvel Deadpool 3 was in the middle of filming when the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes interrupted the entertainment industry. However, soon after the SAG-AFTRA strike ended (the WGA had ended prior to that), production on the movie picked up, but Disney was still forced to move the film’s release date from May to July 26th, 2024. ©Marvel We’ll be keeping an eye out for more Deadpool 3 news as we wait for the first trailer, so stay tuned to DFB for more. 8. Even the biggest Disney World fans don’t get to experience everything the parks have to offer. Magic Kingdom Sure, you’ve probably been on all the rides and maybe even eaten at all the restaurants — but some experiences are just plain out of reach for most folks. Even if you had all the time in the world to spend on your vacation, there are still some places that are so exclusive — we bet you’ve never been to them! Some places in Disney World are only available to the most exclusive crowds — and if you’re part of the group, consider yourself lucky! Without further ado, let’s get into some of the places in Disney World that we’ve bet you’ve never been! Club 33 The original Club 33 may be located in Disneyland’s New Orleans Square, but you’ll also find locations in each Disney World park. The idea behind this exclusive club came from Walt Disney himself as a way to entertain VIP guests when they came to the parks — and it remains one of the most exclusive experiences Disney offers to this day. Magic Kingdom’s Club 33 Location It costs quite a bit of money in membership fees and you also have to contend with a hefty waiting list. You can dine at Club 33 without being a member if you are invited by an existing member. In Magic Kingdom, Club 33 is in Adventureland. In Animal Kingdom it’s between Pandora and Africa, in Hollywood Studios it’s at the Hollywood Brown Derby, and at EPCOT it’s at the American Pavilion. Learn More About Club 33 by Clicking This Link! Cinderella Castle Suite The Cinderella Castle Suite was originally designed for Walt Disney and his family, but Walt passed away before Disney World was completed. The apartment remained unfinished and was used as an office space until 2006, when it was completed as part of Disney World’s “Year of a Million Dreams” celebration. ©GiveKidstheWorldVillage During that Celebration, Disney World gave guests a chance to win a stay in the suite, but that was the ONLY way to get access to it. When we say that this space is EXCLUSIVE, it really is! It’s the hardest hotel room to get in Disney World. Right now, you can pretty much only stay here by winning a contest. 8 Forbidden Places Every Disney Adult Wants To Go Golden Oak Golden Oak at Disney World is an upscale residential community that’s located on Disney property and is filled with luxurious homes that are built by Golden Oak Realty and Disney Signature Experiences. If you’ve always dreamed of permanently living at Disney World, you can. ©Golden Oak Realty But, you’ll have to pay a pretty penny if you want to buy a house here. The starting price for custom homes in this neighborhood (which is actually made up of multiple different neighborhoods) is $2.2 million. And, if you’re looking to take a drive through this neighborhood, well, you’ll either need to be invited by a resident or be in the market for some new digs. 6 Common LIES You’ll Hear About the Elite Neighborhood Inside Disney World GM Lounge Did you know there’s an exclusive lounge INSIDE of Test Track? This isn’t an exclusive feature for specific types of Disney members, like DVC members or Annual Passholders — this lounge isn’t actually for people affiliated with Disney at all. To the lounge! In fact, it’s only for GM (General Motors) employees and retirees, since Chevrolet (owned by General Motors) sponsors Test Track. Utilidors As you walk through Magic Kingdom, you’re actually on the SECOND floor of the park. The first floor runs underneath your feet, with a series of service tunnels called the Utilidors. These tunnels house all kinds of equipment, storage areas, and more. These tunnels are also what Cast Members use to get all around the park. Obtained via AllEars.net The only two ways you’ll be able to walk through the Utilidors are either by being a Cast Member or by booking one of Disney World’s private tours that include a stroll through these underground tunnels. ©Disney | Obtained via News 6 Orlando Stay tuned to DFB for the latest Disney news, info, tips, and more! 52 Secret Things To Do at Disney World Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! 9. Could a new experience be coming to Disneyland sooner than expected? Disneyland Disneyland has some big plans for expansion for the next few decades and is inching closer to opening a major E-ticket attraction later this year, but lost in the chaos is something that was announced early last year. A NEW Avatar experience is slated to make its way to the Disneyland Resort and, while much isn’t known about it, there are hints the wheels could be in motion! Back in February 2023, Disney announced a “bold” new Avatar experience would be coming to the Disneyland Resort, made in collaboration with Avatar director James Cameron. Since then, we haven’t learned much about the experience aside from its future location at Disney California Adventure. Pandora at Disney World Currently, the box office-smashing franchise has a themed land at Disney’s Animal Kingdom that features two big attractions — Na’vi River Journey and Avatar Flight of Passage. We don’t know if the new experience in Disneyland will be a new ride, but with current spacing limitations, an entirely new land such as Animal Kingdom’s Pandora seems unlikely. In fact, these limitations could ultimately lead to a brand new experience that doesn’t exist yet at ANY Disney Park. Of course, all of this is still speculative and we’ll let you know the exact details as soon as they’re known. Flight of Passage We’re looking forward to future updates on this project and will be sure to keep you in the loop as they unfold. 11. Buckle up, folks. An iconic Disney snack just got hit with an interesting twist! Terran Treats 2021 Churros come in many shapes, sizes, and flavors throughout the Disney parks, but a brand NEW creation has just hit the scene. To find it, head to Terran Treats in Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure in Disneyland Resort. But you’ll need to hurry! The special churro available here is a limited-time offering for the Lunar New Year festival! It’ll only be here from January 23rd through February 18th, 2024. Of course, as a true aficionado of the Disney churro, we had to give it a try. So let’s discuss the good and not-so-good about this treat. Menu As we mentioned above, you’ll find this new churro over at Terran Treats, a snack stand that operates year-round in Avengers Campus. The special Lunar New Year Festival churro that’s featured here is the Strawberry Green Tea Churro! There’s a churro! WOWZA! Talk about a combination of flavors. But will it work? Let’s find out! Eat The NEW Strawberry Green Tea Churro is made of a Green tea-cinnamon sugar-dusted churro with strawberry cream sauce. It is topped with freeze-dried strawberries and priced at $7.25. Strawberry Green Tea Churro The green and pink colors here really do stand out, making it very unique. But how does it taste? Honestly, SUPER delicious! The green tea flavor is perfectly balanced and pairs really well with the strawberry sauce. We loved that sauce so much that we wanted to DRINK it, tbh. It’s covered in sugar! We would order this treat again and again, and we almost liked it as much as a classic Disneyland churro! It takes second place to the classic OG churro, but that’s a HUGE honor in our book. Overall If you’re a churro fan, you can’t skip out on this snack! The unique flavor combination is so fun and unexpected. COATED in sugar and deliciousness There’s more where that came from! We’ll be sharing full reviews of the booths at the Lunar New Year Festival, so stay tuned for that. Click here for our page with full menu details and links to our booth reviews. 13. Foolish Mortals, we are NOT here with good news. Haunted Mansion Disney World’s Haunted Mansion probably lands in our Top 5 Comfort Rides. It’s not weird at all that a ride about murder and ghosts and dead people and failed marriages is comforting to us. We don’t have to talk about it. Anyway, since this is our comfort ride, we ride it like, all the time. Today, we were moving right along in our Doom Buggy when we noticed that a travesty has occurred. One of the iconic scenes in the Haunted Mansion ride is the Endless Hallway. Here, you’ll find a super cool optical illusion that makes the hallway seem like it’s stretching on and on and on forever and ever. At the end of the hallway, you’ll see a floating candelabra. Spooky, huh? Endless Hallway Well, not so spooky anymore! An endless hallway is one thousand times less spooky when you’re not seeing a floating object that hints at the fact that ghosts are present. That’s right, goblins and ghouls. The candelabra has gone MISSING. This isn’t the only recent change to the area, though. At the end of 2023, there was the addition of the Hatbox Ghost right next to the entrance of the hallway. Hatbox Ghost It could be entirely possible that the candelabra was removed so as not to distract from the Hatbox Ghost scene, but it’s equally possible that it was just briefly removed for maintenance. Sometimes things don’t work as they should inside the rides, and Disney would rather remove it entirely until it’s fixed — as opposed to leaving a broken element of the ride for all to see. We’ll have to keep an eye out to see whether or not the candelabra returns! Haunted Mansion We’ll be sure to keep you all updated with more Disney news, so follow along for more so that you never miss a thing. I was a Haunted Mansion Cast Member. 15. A Mickey Mouse-shaped piece of bread filled with hot dogs , colorful drinks, and unique snack creations — there’s a LOT to eat at the Lunar New Year celebration at Disney California Adventure Park! Where do you even begin?! Happy Lunar New Year with Mickey and Minnie! Don’t worry — we’ve got you covered! We’ve made our way all around the park to share FULL booth reviews and photos of the new and returning snacks. And now we’ve rounded up our list of MUST eats (and drinks) so you don’t miss a thing. Just a note that the Lunar New Year celebration only runs from January 23rd through February 18th, 2024, so don’t wait too long to visit Disneyland Resort or you’ll miss out on all the fun! Alright, now let’s dive into the very BEST snacks and drinks this festival has to offer! NEW BESTS In this category, we’ll share our picks for the very best NEW items that have arrived at the festival this year. BBQ Pork Bun at Prosperity Bao & Buns It’s hard to beat fluffy buns packed with protein — and that’s why the BBQ Pork Bun has made our list. This features kimchi mayo and garlic chile crunch. You can grab one of these for $9. BBQ Pork Bun We describe this as a spicy little ball of deliciousness! The Kimchi Mayo is really what ties this whole dish together. The meat is super tender and the bao bun is, again, so soft. We give this one a 10/10 as long as you don’t mind spice! Stereo Brewing Co. Jasmine Tea Lager at Prosperity Bao & Buns We grabbed the beer flight here, but one stood out to us the most. The Stereo Brewing Co. Jasmine Tea Lager was next and this one was our reporter’s favorite! Dragon Beer Flight The jasmine tea really shines in this drink, making it so incredibly refreshing — great for a hot day. Check out our Prosperity Bao & Bun review here! Shrimp Lo Mein Noodles at Longevity Noodle Co. Over at Longevity Noodle Co., we are singing the praises of the Shrimp Lo Mein Noodles! These bad boys could be all yours for $9. These are pan-fried lo mein noodles with sautéed shrimp garnished with green onions. Shrimp Lo Mein Our first impression of this dish was that it has some GREAT spice. It isn’t too spicy, though, and it pairs well with the salty taste of the sauce. Oh, and that shrimp? It’s cooked to perfection and each piece is perfectly covered in seasoning. We’d recommend this to anyone who loves a classic lo mein dish that doesn’t mind a tiny hint of spice. Check out our Longevity Noodle Co. review here! Yuja Pineapple Cooler at Wrapped With Love The brand-new Yuja-Pineapple Cooler is made with Pineapple juice, yuja purée, rice milk, and condensed milk garnished with cherry and coconut foam, and it’s priced at $7.00. Yuja-Pineapple Cooler We were surprised by how much we liked this! This drink was very sweet, tropical, and refreshing! We LOVED it and recommend it to anyone who is looking for a refreshing, non-alcoholic beverage. It’s also a great dessert drink! See our full review of Wrapped with Love here! RETURNING BESTS This category is full of items that aren’t new to the festival but instead are returning favorites you do NOT want to miss. Raspberry Oat Milk Tea at Wrapped With Love Though this drink has changed locations (last year it was at Longevity Noodle Co.) it is no less delicious! What we especially like is that the drink is a non-alcoholic one, so everyone can enjoy it. The Raspberry Oat Milk Tea is made of Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea Co. Ceylon Tea, raspberry and demerara syrups, and oat milk. It is garnished with skewered raspberries. Raspberry Oat Milk Tea 2023 Last year we thought this drink was delicious! It was sweet but not overly so, and we absolutely loved that raspberry garnish which added a level of freshness. Try it for yourself for $6.50. We’re happy to report it’s just as good as we remember! Sweet (but not too sweet) and the raspberry garnish is a winner. This is another great non-alcoholic option for anyone looking for a refreshing but dessert-like drink. See our full review of Wrapped with Love here! Red Spice Fried Chicken Bites at Red Dragon Spice Traders If you’re looking for something that’ll bring the HEAT, stop by Red Dragon Spice Traders for the returning Red Spice Fried Chicken Bites. These are fried chicken chicharrones in spicy red chile sauce, and they’re priced at $8.75. Red Spice Fried Chicken Bites In 2023, the chicken delivered in terms of that spicy KICK we were looking for. They were crispy, plentiful, packed with flavor (not just heat), and the heat level made our lips burn in a satisfying way! This dish was a WINNER in our book again this year! It’s got a good kick to it, without the spice getting out of control. It did make our noses run a bit though, so watch out for that! It was nice and crispy with great flavor and was a decent-sized portion. See our full review of Red Dragon Spice Traders here! Mickey Mouse-Shaped Hot Dog Bun at Bamboo Blessings This snack might seem basic but it’s a staple of the festival, iconic to this celebration, and absolutely a MUST-GET. The returning Mickey-shaped Hot Dog Bun is made of a brioche-style Mickey-shaped bun stuffed with hot dog and finished with sesame seeds and scallions. It is priced at $7.50. Mickey Mouse-shaped Hot Dog Bun This really is a fun and tasty spin on a classic theme park eat. Just be warned — the quality of the bun can vary here. Some years the bun has been REALLY good. But in 2023, we found it to be quite dry. This year, we thought the hot dog bun tasted even BETTER! It was soft and warm, yet thick and flaky all at once. Our hot dog was juicy and flavorful, too. In terms of flavor, we’re not saying this is groundbreaking, but it’s a simple, warm, savory dish we keep coming back to every year. It’s a win! See our full review of Bamboo Blessings here! And there you have it — our picks for the BEST snacks and drinks at the Lunar New Year celebration. 16. There are a TON of things that can make or break your Disney World trip, right?! Thanks, Pluto! Things like meeting your favorite Disney characters or getting to ride that exciting ride can make the trip feel totally worth it, while things like closures and unexpected weather events can leave you feeling like you’re holding the bag. Have you ever thought that maybe your phone could improve your vacation? Well, let’s talk about it! Sorry Android users, this one’s all about iPhone today. Let’s talk about some of the ways your iPhone can improve your next Disney World vacation! ©Apple Journal Since we love all things glittery and new, let’s go over a new app that’s been added to your iPhone that can really be handy when you’re on vacation. We’re talking about the new app “Journal”. ©Apple Journal was designed by Apple to be a private space for you to record your thoughts and impressions, and we can see how it can be quite an effective tool for documenting your trips. There are a number of ways in the app for you to fully capture the moment when you’re creating a new entry. It starts as a blank slate. You can jot any and all thoughts that come to mind, you can add photos and videos to enhance those words, and you can even make an audio recording of those sounds around you. This feature alone could be perfect for capturing the iconic “it’s a small world” song in all its glory as you ride it for the 5th time for the day. ©Apple But, if that’s looking a bit too tedious, Apple’s already thought about you. The phone can pull together data from your recent activities, photos, workouts, etc., and gives you suggestions to write about. It’s a very well-thought-out app. It’s also got privacy in mind, so if you want it locked up like your diaries of old, you can totally do that. ©Apple Let’s talk about some camera tips next. Leave the Camera at Home Now we know you have that big, fancy camera at home, but honestly, nowadays, your iPhone is all you’re going to need besides the fact that you will most likely always have it with you at all times. Lemon and Cotton Candy No sense trying to mess with settings like F-stops and ISO when you’re trying to take that perfect dole whip picture. You’ve just got to capture it before it melts all the way down your arm. Portrait Mode Speaking of trying to take pictures of your food, because we’re pretty positive that we’re going to take pictures of everything we eat at Disney World, if you haven’t already used Portrait Mode, you need to experience it! Jump on the bandwagon! Dole Whip Cupcake That is what is going to make your background be nice and blurry while your food is nice and crisp! That’s where you want everyone’s focus anyway. The Grid Now we know you’re excited about getting into the TRON grid, but that’s not what we’re talking about. A great way for you to elevate your photo game is to enable the in camera grid! @The Sweet Setup This way you’ll be able to arrange your pictures perfectly. You can finally say goodbye to all those crooked shots you have to adjust. Last up, let’s talk about some other iPhone tips. Reminders When you’re at Disney World, reminders can be your best friend! (Maybe even more useful than Genie) ©Apple You’ve got a lot of reservations you might be making for restaurants or virtual queue reservations, and some of those are time-sensitive, so if you don’t want to miss out on when the queue opens or when you have to leave the resort, put that info down in a reminder and you’ll be all set! Disney MagicMobile Pass Want to ditch your pass and still get into the parks? You can totally do that! ©Disney You can add a Disney MagicMobile Pass to the Wallet app. Then, use your iPhone or Apple Watch to enter the parks. Magic Kingdom’s Cinderella Castle Those are just a couple of ways your iPhone can make your next trip just that much better. In the meantime, stay tuned to DFB. 17. NEW COFFEE ALERT. You’ve had your Starbucks drink, your Joffrey’s Coffee, and maybe even some other specialty coffees in the Disney parks but now something NEW has arrived. Pym Test Kitchen To find this special creation, you’ll need to visit Disney California Adventure in Disneyland Resort between January 23rd and February 18th, 2024. That’s the time when the park will be celebrating the Lunar New Year with new snacks, unique characters, and more. One of the Festival’s special offerings is a NEW coffee drink that’s tucked away at Pym Test Kitchen in Avengers Campus. Will it be your new must-get coffee in the park? Menu Pym Test Kitchen is a Quick Service restaurant with some popular and unique eats that might just have strange proportions due to some interactions with Pym particles! For the purposes of the Lunar New Year Festival, however, there’s one additional menu item available here — the Almond Cold Brew! Here is a look at the menu! Let’s find out if this is something you’ll have to snag! Review The NEW Almond Cold Brew at Pym’s Test Kitchen is a non-alcoholic beverage made with almond cold brew, almond milk, and red foam with blue and gold sugar. It is priced at $6.79. Let’s try it! When it comes to looks, this drink certainly is something! That red foam topped with blue and gold sugar almost makes it look like the result of a science experiment, which totally fits with the theme of this place. So, what’s the deal in terms of taste? Look at that foam and sugar! We thought that this cold brew was pretty sweet when we first tasted it. It has a small hint of almond to it, so when you’re drinking it it still feels like you’re having a cold brew. It is a perfect blend between the two flavors, and we’re kind of obsessed with it. One thing we did notice was how much food coloring was used in this foam! Drinkers beware, because this stuff STAINS! Of course, that can always be remedied by using a straw — and a little red food coloring has never stopped us from enjoying an otherwise delicious coffee before. Pym Test Kitchen This may be one of the best cold brews we have found at Disneyland! It’s been hard for us to find cold brews we really LOVE at Disneyland, so we’re glad that they are finally stepping up their game. Inside Pym Test Kitchen! If you want to give it a try, be sure to visit soon since it’ll go away after February 18th! And while you’re at Pym’s Test Kitchen, don’t forget to check out their other unique food items — you can click here to see our reviews of them to help you decide what to get. Overall Overall, if it’s a new coffee drink you’re after, consider stopping by Pym’s for this hidden treat. Hello, beautiful! 19. Disneyland Paris is extra magical right now. ©Disney We’re not just referring to the recent snowfall that has blanketed the park and made it look even more beautiful. We’re talking about the reopening of the Disneyland Hotel at Disneyland Paris, which has been closed for refurbishment for a few years. Well, now, the newly updated hotel has officially reopened! The five-star Disneyland Hotel has been completely reimagined with new luxury rooms, gourmet dining, and more, with loads of touches all inspired by Disney’s “royal stories.” You’ll find references to Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, The Little Mermaid, and more. ©Disney The grand lobby, which takes inspiration from classic European castles, has a crystal chandelier that represents the park’s Sleeping Beauty Castle. ©Disney Room types include Superior, Deluxe, and Castle Club, as well as Signature Suites. The rooms have unique design elements inspired by those royal stories. The Princely and Royal Suites take inspiration from movies like Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Tangled, Beauty and the Beast, and Frozen. You’ll see details inspired by Aurora’s color-changing dress as well as Elsa’s Ice Castle. ©Disney The hotel’s restaurants have also been reimagined. At Royal Banquet, you’ll find a new gallery of paintings, including King Triton and his daughters, Merida and her family, King Magnifico from Wish, the Evil Queen, and more. The menu takes inspiration from Disney Princesses, too. You can also meet Mickey, Minnie, and their friends, who are dressed in royal outfits. ©Disneyland Paris La Table de Lumière, which is inspired by Versailles’ Hall of Mirrors, is now inspired by the ballroom from Beauty and the Beast. The gourmet restaurant will feature a menu that is locally sourced while guests dine with Royal Disney couples. ©Disney Fleur de Lys Bar overlooks the hotel’s Fantasia Gardens with a menu of flower-themed signature cocktails and fine wines. The bar also hosts an afternoon tea and a champagne experience. The hotel also features the Disneyland Hotel Spa by Clarins and Health Club with classic and signature treatments, while the Crystal Pool lies under a magnificent glass and metal roof. ©Disney There’s also the Royal Collection Boutique, where adults and children can get a royal makeover, along with a professional photo session. There’s even a Royal Kids Club, which is themed to look like a royal library. Here, kids can take part in “interactive and augmented reality experiences” within their favorite stories. ©Disney The Disneyland Hotel in Paris is open now, so if you are planning a trip to Disneyland Paris, you’ll want to drop by (even if you’re not staying there) just to see all its new royal updates! 20. Something EPIC (and historic) has happened at Disneyland Resort! Disney California Adventure At Disney California Adventure in Disneyland Resort, the Lunar New Year is being celebrated from January 23rd through February 18th, 2024. Sure, you can go there to stuff your face with new and delicious snacks or spend all your cash on special merchandise. But if you want to see something REALLY unique, you HAVE to check out the entertainment because a BRAND NEW character meet-and-greet has debuted(!!!). Considering that this is the FIRST TIME these characters have made a meet-and-greet appearance in this way, the line for the meet-and-greet could get long so you’ll want to keep that in mind. Meilin Lee and Ming Lee Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession Of course, it’s not a Disney day without a parade right?! Well, you can catch a sort of mini-parade — Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession — during the Lunar New Year Festival. This procession goes from Hollywood Land to Paradise Gardens. Mulan and Mushu! Things start off with music filling the air and performers filling the street. Then you’ll catch appearances by Mulan, Mushu, some Disney characters, and some incredibly talented Asian entertainers. Keep an eye out for the Chinese dragon — that’s a particular highlight of this unique show! Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession The Procession lasts around 20 minutes and is offered a few times each day — typically around 12:45PM, 2:30PM, 5PM, and 6:45PM (but check the Disneyland app for the latest updates). Lunar New Year Performer More Characters Want to see more characters? Throughout Disney California Adventure, watch for Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse (who you’ll see dressed in some colorful outfits). Happy Lunar New Year with Mickey and Minnie! You’ll also want to stop by the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail, which is where you’ll be able to meet Raya from Raya and the Last Dragon! 21. Looking to try NEW eats in Disneyland? If so, we know exactly where you should go! Wrapped with Love Marketplace The 2024 Lunar New Year celebration has started in Disney California Adventure Park at the Disneyland Resort, and it has a lot to offer! There’s special merchandise, entertainment, and (of course) PLENTY of food to try. For now, we’re making our way over to the Wrapped with Love food booth. Is it a place you absolutely MUST visit? Let’s find out! 2024 is the Year of the Dragon. The park will mark its arrival with the annual Lunar New Year celebration, which takes place from January 23rd through February 18th this year. Menu Wrapped with Love was a new booth addition to the 2023 Lunar New Year celebration, and we’re excited to see it return with all new offerings!! The menu! The booth features 2 new snacks — Fried Lemongrass Chicken Dumplings and Steamed Pork & Vegetable Dumplings — as well as a new drink that we’ll be trying. Last year, we found that this booth was pretty hit or miss for us. We liked some menu items, but others were super disappointing. So… how will the menu items this year compare? Eats We’ll start with the food. New to this booth and the festival are the Fried Lemongrass Chicken Dumplings with plum sauce. This is priced at $8.75. Fried Lemongrass Chicken Dumplings Our lemon grass chicken had a bit of an artificial lemon flavor that was reminiscent of lemon cleaning supplies. Not ideal. The outside texture was also harder than we would have liked. These are fried, so they’re not supposed to have that sticky texture like a steamed dumpling, but the crunch here was a bit more like plastic coating than fried dumpling. Not our favorites from this booth In theory, though, we love what Disney was aiming for with these dumplings. We really hope future batches are tastier, because we wanted to like them! As of right now, though, it’s a skip from us. We do not recommend. Next, we have the Steamed Pork & Vegetable Dumplings with a black garlic sauce for $8.75. Steamed Pork & Vegetable Dumplings with a black garlic sauce These were excellent! The garlic sauce wasn’t too overpowering, and we much preferred the sticky texture of these dumplings. The flavor was nice and the dumplings were cooked perfectly. These are definitely picky-eater approved and we think anyone who loves Asian cuisine and garlic will really enjoy them. We actually recommend dipping the lemongrass dumplings in this sauce to doctor them up a bit. Alright, enough with the new eats, let’s hop to those drinks! Drinks This booth features a brand NEW non-alcoholic cocktail — the Yuja-Pineapple Cooler. It’s made with Pineapple juice, yuja purée, rice milk, and condensed milk garnished with a cherry and coconut foam, and it’s priced at $7.00. Is this fruity drink worth it? Yuja-Pineapple Cooler This drink was very sweet, tropical, and refreshing! We LOVED it and recommend it to anyone who is looking for a refreshing, non-alcoholic beverage. It’s also a great dessert drink! Next, we have the Raspberry Oat Milk Tea. This drink is also new to this booth, but we saw it at last year’s Lunar New Year celebration at the Longevity Noodle Co. booth. It’s made with Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea Co. Ceylon Tea, raspberry and demerara syrups, and is then splashed with oat milk and garnished with skewered raspberries. It could be yours for $6.50. Raspberry Oat Milk Tea We’ve had this drink in the past and loved it, and we’re happy to report it’s just as good as we remember! Sweet (but not too sweet) and the raspberry garnish is a winner. This is another great non-alcoholic option for anyone looking for a refreshing but dessert-y drink. Finally, you can kick your drinks up a notch by grabbing the Lotus Flower Glow Cube! This is a returning decoration that you can add to any of the drinks for $6.00. There’s a limit of 10 per guest, per transaction, so just keep that in mind in case you were planning to shove 10 lotus flowers into your cup. Lotus Flower Glowing Cube! These add a fun glowing effect to your drink, which is great if you’ll be staying in the park until it gets darker. Plus, they act as a souvenir and reminder of your time at Lunar New Year! Overall Overall, this booth is mostly a success. While we were not fans of the lemongrass chicken dumplings, the steamed pork and vegetable dumplings truly won us over. Plus, we LOVED the drinks. This is a great booth if you’re really wanting a drink paired with a small snack — we’d just recommend getting the pork and veggie dumplings over the others. We’ll be sharing full reviews of ALL of the food booths so stay tuned for more details. 22. We’ve got good news for Disney World Annual Passholders: Disney just added a few more “Good-to-Go” days to the calendar! Annual Pass card Disney recently got rid of Park Pass Reservations for most ticket types, but Annual Passholders still need to get those park passes in order to enter the theme parks. One of the exceptions to this rule is “Good-to-Go” days. On these days, Passholders can enter any theme park with no reservation required. We’ve already seen some of these days pop up on the calendar, but now NEW ones have been added! Annual Passholders can view “Good-to-Go” days on the Annual Pass calendar. Check out our complete guide to viewing “Good-to-Go” days here. Disney previously shared that these days would be added on a rolling basis, “days or weeks in advance.” Previously, the last “Good-to-Go” day was February 1st, but now two more dates are “Good-go-Go”: February 4th and 6th. ©Disney Both days are available for Passholders who have the Incredi Pass, Sorcerer Pass, and Pirate Pass, but only the 6th is available for the Pixie Pass since weekends are blocked out for that pass. ©Disney The 4th and 6th are only a couple of weeks away, so if this trend continues, it seems like we won’t get much heads up at all when it comes to “Good-to-Go” days. We recommend Annual Passholders make Park Pass Reservations for their trips ASAP, and then if those days become “Good-to-Go” later on, Disney will remove the reservation from your account automatically, freeing up that reservation to be used on another day. Disney World Annual Pass You might’ve noticed that we said “Good-to-Go” days are ONE of the exceptions to the rule that Passholders must make Park Pass Reservations to visit the theme parks. The OTHER exception is after 2PM. Excluding Magic Kingdom on Saturdays and Sundays, Passholders can enter any theme park without a reservation after 2PM. Annual Pass entrance at Magic Kingdom You can view upcoming “Good-to-Go” days online or on the My Disney Experience app. Click here to learn how to view upcoming “Good-to-Go” days. Passholders need to watch out for a couple other exciting updates in Disney World! There’s a NEW Moana-themed free magnet souvenir coming out soon, and a Passholder-exclusive treat is coming to EPCOT as well. Make sure you don’t miss out on those exclusive perks! ©Disney Stay tuned to DFB, and we’ll be sure to let you know about more Annual Passholder updates. 23. Planning a Disney World trip can be stressful — even if everything goes smoothly. Magic Kingdom But, throw a wrench into those plans and things can get pretty hairy pretty quickly. Between hotel construction, dining reservation woes, and ride closures, any number of mishaps can happen on your vacation. And, folks heading to Disney World this morning will likely have to learn that the hard way! Quite a few major rides in Disney World were plagued by closures on the morning of January 25th, 2024. This can happen for any number of reasons, but when it does — it can cause some headaches throughout the rest of the park. Both Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios had some popular rides on the list. ©Disney In Magic Kingdom, Space Mountain was temporarily closed, along with the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover. Big Thunder Mountain is also closed, but that’s for a scheduled refurbishment. Space Mountain Over in Hollywood Studios, Rise of the Resistance — a ride that often boasts the highest wait of any in Disney World — was also hit with a temporary closure. Rise of the Resistance And, judging by the crowds we’ve already seen at the Transportation and Ticket Center it’s looking like today might be a rather busy one — at least in Magic Kingdom! But, if this ever happens to you — don’t panic! More often than not, these closures are only temporary and rides will open back up a short time later. Sometimes the closures do last all day if it’s a serious issue, in which case, you’ll have to adjust your plans. If you’ve purchased a Lightning Lane for a ride that closes, head to Guest Relations and they should be able to help you out. The Nobu Hotels website says the Orlando resort will feature 300 rooms, including eight villas, a Nobu restaurant, 50 branded residences, and meeting and event space. The master plan doesn’t specify how Nobu will fit into the resort at large, but the Nobu Hotels website notes that its hotel will open in 2026. ©Nobu Hotels This property is accessible from Meadow Creek Drive and has north frontage on Interstate 4, west on the World Marriott Resort’s golf course, and east by Starwood’s Vistana Resort.
