Planning on going to Disney World during the last little bit of summer? It’s important to be aware of the weather! Rainy Day We are in hurricane season, and storms are something that can really impact your Disney trip — from closed attractions to killing the vibe. We’re keeping an eye on the latest weather to see if it could impact your vacation, so take a look at the latest update. A few days ago, on Sunday, August 3rd, Tropical Storm Dexter formed over the western Atlantic and has become a little bit weaker the more it has moved away from the U.S. coast, according to the National Hurricane Center. That being said, the NHC did clarify that it’s forecast to reintensify again. ©National Hurricane Center It’s been measured that Dexter has a maximum sustained wind speed of 40 mph with a minimum central pressure of 1,005, according to Wesh 2. The National Hurricane Center did state that Dexter is expected to stay in the Atlantic as a tropical storm. They’re expecting it to weaken and later reintensify as a post-tropical cyclone, which would take place on Wednesday, August 6th. Stormy day in Disney World Luckily, Wesh 2 stated that the system doesn’t pose a threat to Florida whatsoever. The National Hurricane Center is making sure to monitor additional areas of interest in the Atlantic. Flooding in Disney World On top of Dexter, the National Hurricane Center has been monitoring a tropical wave in the far eastern tropical Atlantic. There is a chance of a gradual development of the wave, and a tropical depression could form late this week as it moves west-northwestward across the central tropical Atlantic. The chance of formation within the next 48 hours of today is still zero percent; however, a formation chance in the next seven days is 50%. A rainy day in Disney World When looking at a few miles off the southeastern U.S. coast, there’s a wide area of low pressure forecast to develop in the coming days. The National Hurricane Center stated, “System development is expected by midweek as the system drifts to the northwest.” The formation chance of this within 48 hours is zero percent, and its formation chance within seven days is 30%. Disney World on a wet day Remember, we are currently in hurricane season over at Disney World. The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1st through November 30th. Make sure to pack accordingly, and prepare for wet days at Disney World. Some attractions do close due to weather, so make sure to have a Plan B for any ride closures. Make sure to have a poncho We’re going to keep updating you on the latest weather news during hurricane season, so make sure to stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog! 38 Sneaky Dates To Avoid Magic Kingdom This Fall
Disney4me posted a topic in Disney Food/Restaurants
A word of warning, if you’re heading to Walt Disney World this fall, there are some days you may just want to avoid the “Most Magical Place on Earth.” Halloween decorations in Magic Kingdom Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is one of Disney World’s most beloved annual traditions, offering spooktacular delights including treats, shows, special ride overlays, and even Disney’s best-known characters in their Halloween best. One of the biggest benefits for Not-So-Scary visitors? Ticket holders will be admitted to Magic Kingdom park as early as 4:00 PM on the valid date of their party ticket. However, that perk for party guests also makes the Magic Kingdom a place to avoid for most non-party guests on Mickey’s Not-So-Scary nights. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party For those unfamiliar, the Magic Kingdom closes at 6:00 for non-party guests each party night, meaning that a regular day guest’s time at the park will be cut short. While this may not affect guests who have park hopper tickets and may want to quickly pop in to the Magic Kingdom in the morning before heading to another park, those looking to have a full day at a Disney theme park may want to head to EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, or Animal Kingdom. Believe me, I’ve been ushered out of the Magic Kingdom unceremoniously on a party night, and it’s not a fun way to end the day. Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular 2024 (If you don’t have a party ticket, you won’t see this…) This year, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will run for 38 nights at the Magic Kingdom: August 15th, 17th, 19th, 22nd, 24th, 26th, 29th September 2nd, 5th, 7th, 9th, 12th, 14th, 16th, 19th, 21st, 23rd, 25th, 26th, 28th, 30th October 2025: 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th, 10th, 13th, 14th, 16th, 17th, 19th, 23rd, 24th, 26th, 28th, 30th, and (of course) 31st Boo to You Parade If you’re heading to Disney World anytime this fall, it’s likely worth AVOIDING the Magic Kingdom on these days… or try and see if party tickets are still available on your given date! Stay tuned to DFB for more Disney World tips. 5 Magic Kingdom Secrets Disney Doesn’t Want You to Know Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! The highest-rated theme park in the United States might not be what you expect. ©Dollywood You’re brain might automatically go to Disneyland or Disney World (hi Disney Adults!), or maybe Universal Studios if all you think about is rides. If we’re including food and nostalgia, Disneyland should take the prize, right? The most highly rated theme park in the United States is…Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee! ©Dollywood BizJournal TripAdvisor gives this award to those “who receive a high volume of above-and-beyond reviews and opinions from the TripAdvisor community over a 12-month period.” Out of 8 million listings, fewer than 1% achieve this goal. ©Dollywood Let’s give a round of applause to Dollywood for this incredible achievement! If you haven’t been, Dolly Parton, yes, the famous singer, created her own theme park! ©Dollywood She grew up in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee, and the park has a downhome feeling with sing-alongs, coasters, and thrill rides. ©Dollywood Lots of people swear that their Cinnamon Bread is the best they’ve ever had! ©Dollywood Beyond the theme park, there are also two resorts and one water park to try out. The park is currently celebrating its 40th anniversary and even has fun dinner shows like Dolly Parton’s Stampede Dinner Attraction to enjoy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bYo9Gi07fhs Wondering what other theme parks made the list? Here’s the current top 10 theme parks (including water parks) in the U.S. according to TripAdvisor: Dollywood Magic Kingdom Knoebels Amusement Resort Disney’s Hollywood Studios Universal Islands of Adventure Fun Spot America LEGOLAND California Universal Studios Florida Silver Dollar City Whale’s Tale Waterpark That’s quite a list and definitely has some unexpected theme parks on it! Y’all. We can’t tell you how excited we are about the launch of AJ’s book, Disney Adults: Exploring (And Falling In Love With) A Magical Subculture. And we hope you’re as excited about it as we are! A.J.’s book! Now, this book releases on August 5th, but if you’re in the Orlando area during the month of August, you’ll want to celebrate the book’s release in one of our favorite ways: by drinking around the world. You see, we’ve partnered with some Disney World restaurants that have created some special Disney Adults drinks for a Disney Adults Crawl from August 1st through August 31st. But one of those drinks is so exclusive, you can only get it on August 5th — and we’ve got a review of it for you! First things first, though. Make sure you grab a copy of Disney Adults for yourself! This book is a “fascinating and enlightening deep dive into the infamous Disney Adult community from the woman behind the popular website The Disney Food Blog” (aka AJ Wolfe). Okay, now for the Disney Adults Crawl. You’ll be able to order eight exclusive beverages from restaurants in Disney Springs AND EPCOT from August 1st through 31st. You can grab a Disney Adults Crawl map and menu below: However, one of those special drinks is exclusive to the book’s launch date — August 5th, so make sure you hurry for this ultra-exclusive drink! You’ll find it at Summer House on the Lake in Disney Springs. The Mischief Mai Tai is made with Wicked Dolphin coconut rum, orgeat, blue curaçao, and lemon juice for $10. Because of the orgeat, this is not a tree-nut-friendly drink — so keep that in mind. Mischief Mai Tai This is a beautiful, tropical mai tai. It’s a little coconutty, with an earthy nuttiness thanks to the orgeat. There’s a great zing from the lemon juice that helps to really round everything out and brighten things up. While we definitely tasted the rum, it wasn’t overpowering at all, and we appreciated that the flavor was detectable. The addition of the lemon twist at the top was a nice touch, especially combined with the fresh lemon juice. This wasn’t too sweet, like you can sometimes find with mai tais or drinks with blue curaçao. We also can’t believe it’s only $10, making it one of the cheapest cocktails at Disney World! It’s probably one of our favorite drinks on the entire Disney Adults Crawl! Celebrate with a drink So you’ll want to head over to Summer House on the Lake ASAP to get this ONE-DAY-ONLY drink. And stay tuned to DFB for more Disney news and reviews. ORDER ‘DISNEY ADULTS’ ON AMAZON ORDER A SIGNED COPY HERE! Join the DFB Newsletter to get all the breaking news right in your inbox! Close your eyes and picture this: You wake up in your Disney hotel room in your pajamas, look out the window, and see Cinderella Castle in the distance. You put on your matching family shirts and head downstairs to catch a monorail to the best park at Disney World. As you pass by an incredible gingerbread display, you’re transported to The Most Magical Place on Earth. Christmas at Disney World Now, what if I told you that this dream could happen with a discount? Disney World is currently running a promotion where you can save up to 20% on rooms at select hotels and receive a gift card of up to $100. The deal runs most stays from Sunday to Thursday from October 12th to November 20th, and then from November 23rd to December 25th. This opens the door to having the most magical holiday of all time. Contemporary Resort If I were using the discount (and I just found the perfect staycation), I know exactly what I’d do. As a Disney World local and a writer for Disney Food Blog, I’ve been to lots of different hotels, restaurants, and everything in between, and I am pretty opinionated about the best Disney vacation possible. Mary Blair mural Want to know my dream vacation? Get ready because you’re going to want to book your trip immediately after hearing this. First off, we’re staying in the Contemporary. From fond childhood memories to some of the best restaurants on property, there’s no way I’m staying anywhere else. The Monorail INSIDE Contemporary Resort I would request a room facing the parks so I can see the castle and the fireworks during my stay, because what’s a trip to Disney World without fireworks? Theme park view And the theme of the Contemporary? Incredible! Literally. I love all the subtle Incredibles details around the room, plus the monorail hidden in the lampshades and mirrors. It’s also the coolest resort because the monorail goes THROUGH the building. Hidden details Typically, for four nights and five days in a theme park view room in the central tower, you’re looking at about $5,200 during the holidays. Oof. That’s a price tag! With 20% off, I can get it for around $4,100, and since the room sleeps four, I’m inviting my three besties to join me on the vacation. About $1,000 per person for an almost week-long vacation? SAY LESS! Who’s coming with me? I would love to stay during Christmastime because there is a giant Christmas tree outside the building that feels like it’s welcoming you into the season. They even have a unique gingerbread display that looks like the castle, and yes, you can see it from the monorail. It’s made of gingerbread! Let’s not forget my $100 Disney gift card! As soon as I saw that as a perk, I knew where I was going: Steakhouse 71! It’s my favorite restaurant across all Disney properties, and whether you go for breakfast or dinner, you’re in for a treat. I like to start with a drink at the lounge and then order way too many appetizers. Steakhouse 71 If I’m going for breakfast, I will always order the Bacon and Cheddar Grits. For dinner, I’m getting a side of Smoked Cheese Grits. I can’t tell you why, but Steakhouse 71 has the best, creamiest, saltiest grits on property, and even writing this now makes me want to book a reservation. GRITS!!! Ah, what a dream come true. This is my dream vacation, but what’s yours? Tell us in the comments which resort you would stay at for the trip of a lifetime. We’ve all been there — starving in Disney Springs with no dining reservation in sight. Disney Springs Maybe you just wrapped up your day at the parks and weren’t ready to head back to the hotel. Maybe you’re spending the day outside the parks and decided to swing by Disney Springs on a whim. You’re surrounded by incredible restaurants, but every place you want to eat at has a wait list a mile long… or so you think. Turns out, Disney quietly rolled out a new service that makes grabbing a last-minute table way easier — and way less stressful. Let’s talk about the new dining help that popped up in Disney Springs. If you’re heading to Disney Springs without a dining reservation, you don’t have to rely on your My Disney Experience app or hope someone cancels a reservation at Homecomin’ five minutes before your arrival. If you enter the springs via the Orange parking garage, you’ll find Disney has set up a podium staffed by a Cast Member who’s got one job — helping you find a table today. No need to wander around aimlessly, checking menus and wait times on your phone. This Cast Member can tell you exactly which restaurants have same-day availability and help you grab a spot fast. Orange Parking Garage Specifically, we spotted this new service next to the Planet Hollywood lounge and Wetzel’s Pretzels — basically the spot where the chaos of Disney Springs starts to unfold. And the best part? It’s clearly marked with signage, so you’re not going to miss it. Just walk up, ask what’s open, and boom — you’re on your way to a proper sit-down meal without needing a time machine to go back and make a reservation two months ago. ©Disney This is especially helpful if you’re trying to score a seat at one of the Disney Springs heavy-hitters. Restaurants like Wine Bar George, Raglan Road, and Homecomin’ are no joke when it comes to popularity. They book up fast. But same-day cancellations happen all the time — and unless you’re obsessively checking the app every 15 seconds, you can easily miss those openings. Now, you’ve got a real-life human who can check all of that for you. Think of them as your dining concierge, minus the stress and push notifications. Wine Bar George Here’s how it works: stroll up to the podium and ask what’s available. That’s it. The Cast Member will let you know which restaurants currently have same-day reservations or walk-up availability. They may even help get you booked in on the spot. It’s a super simple way to take the guesswork out of dining in Disney Springs, especially during peak times when it feels like everything is full. Raglan Road Let’s be real — Disney Springs is a massive food scene. And while quick service spots like Chicken Guy and The Polite Pig can be lifesavers in a pinch, sometimes you just want to sit down, order a cocktail, and enjoy a full meal without fighting for a table or eating standing up on the sidewalk. That’s what this new podium setup helps you do. Whether you’re looking to try something new or hoping your fave place has a surprise opening, it’s worth swinging by the podium before you default to another mobile order situation. Homecomin’ Plus, this little service can be a huge time-saver. Instead of trekking from one restaurant to the next asking about walk-ups (which, let’s face it, we’ve all done), you can get a full list of what’s available in one quick stop. Then, you’re free to explore, shop, or sip something from the Coca-Cola Rooftop Bar while you wait for your table. Morimoto Asia at Disney Springs Disney hasn’t made a big splash about this new feature — it’s one of those low-key additions that quietly showed up and instantly made things better. We’re hoping it sticks around (and maybe even expands to other areas), because this is exactly the kind of simple, helpful service that makes navigating Disney property just a little bit smoother. Disney Springs So next time you find yourself in Disney Springs with no reservation, don’t panic. Head toward the Orange Garage, look for the podium near Planet Hollywood, and let the Cast Member there do the heavy lifting. You might just end up scoring a table at one of the best spots in Disney Springs without even trying. Stay tuned to DFB for more. A Viral Food Trend Hit This Disney Springs Restaurant! Howl-O-Scream visitors will come face-to-face with Havoc, which the theme park refers to as its “ambassador of darkness.” The Havoc character looks the part: Charred skull, ember-inspired eyes, dressed in chains and tattered black coat, armed with a bloody machete and a motorcycle “Havoc is the ringmaster of ruin and guests will feel his presence long before they see his smoldering silhouette,” a Howl-O-Scream news release said. Havos previously was bound by the Sirens, the previous faces of the SeaWorld event. Havoc is set to 'unleash his full fury,' SeaWorld says, as the icon of Howl-O-Scream at SeaWorld Orlando theme park. (SeaWorld Orlando)Also new to the after-hours event, which runs on select evenings beteween Sept. 5 and Nov. 1, is a live show titled “Throttle,” in which Havoc and his “nightmare riders tear through portals,” the release said. The “Monster Stomp” show and its Jack the Ripper-styled production also returns this season. SeaWorld Orlando also revealed four new Howl-O-Scream scare zones. They’re named Trailer Park Tragedy (“territorial tenants”), Echoes of the Glass (“warped-mirror maze”), Woodrot Hallow (“trees week sap like blood”) and Ashes of the Forgotten (abandoned scrapyard). The park had previously announced the event’s haunted houses, including Widow’s Nest, the Rave Yard, Collector’s Curse, and an encore of Farm 51. The Rave Yard is one of the haunted mazes set for SeaWorld Orlando's 2025 Howl-O-Scream events. (SeaWorld Orlando)Howl-O-Scream evenings also include five themed bars and beverages, plus the “Grave Danger Thrill Show” presented by Hellzapoppin Circus Sideshow. In addition, some key rides and attraction operate on Howl-O-Scream nights, including Mako, Ice Breaker and Pipeline coasters plus Infinity Falls, a water ride. It’s the fifth edition of SeaWorld Orlando’s Howl-O-Scream. The park’s Halloween Spooktacular, a family-friendly daytime event with trick-or-treating and other light activities included with regular admission, returns Aug. 30 and runs through Nov. 2. The Walt Disney Company is no stranger to lawsuits. Walt Disney Company Headquarters in Burbank Several months ago, the Portland Pickles Baseball Team sued the Walt Disney Company over a trademark infringement claim that ties to the show Win or Lose on Disney+. The lawsuit has now been settled, according to court documents. According to KGW8 news, the Portland Pickles and Walt Disney Company lawsuit has finally ended. The lawsuit was originally filed on May 7th, 2025, with the U.S. District Court of Oregon, and it accused Disney of trademark infringement regarding the show Win or Lose. ©Pixar The show centers around a middle school softball team called the Pickles in the week leading up to their championship game. According to the Portland Pickles team, Disney “developed, marketed and sold merchandise bearing logos and themes that are substantially and confusingly similar to plaintiff’s Pickles marks.” They called this issue “a classic case of David vs. Goliath” and referenced merchandise sold at Target, Walmart, and Kohl’s. ©Pixar The complaint said, “Founded in Portland, Oregon, the Pickles baseball team began as a local summer league club and quickly captured the hearts of fans not just in the city, but across the country and beyond. With a commitment to community, creativity, and fun, the Pickles have built an identity rooted in homegrown baseball and fueled by a passionate following.” The court documents that confirmed the case was settled did not detail the terms of the settlement, including a dollar amount or injunction terms. The Pixar Place “Win or Lose” exhibit The team was represented by Lewis Brisbois, a national law firm, and the details will be finalized within 30 days. Disney World is going through quite a few changes right now — and we just discovered another one! Spread from eet by Maneet Chauhan Typically, when you want to dine at a Disney World table-service restaurant, you need an Advanced Dining Reservation (ADR). There are some exceptions to that rule (like walk-up waitlists), but at Disney World quick-service restaurants, no reservations are required. Over at eet by Maneet in Disney Springs — a quick-service spot — you can now book ADRs! We were recently perusing the Disney World website when we happened to notice an Advanced Dining Reservation option pop up for eet by Maneet at Disney Springs! This was surprising as it’s a quick-service restaurant with walk-up service that typically hasn’t had the reservation option in the past. This wasn’t something we had seen from a quick-service restaurant at Disney World before, so we headed to Disney Springs to confirm. eet by Maneet Chauhan It’s true! We confirmed with eet by Maneet that the ADRs are for the solarium section of the dining room, which is separate from the main dining area in the center. The main dining area is still reserved for folks wanting to walk up and order — the reservations just guarantee your seating in the solarium. I’ve been going to Disney World for YEARS and I’ve never seen this option! EET by Maneet Chauhan main dining room You’ll still walk up to the counter, order your food, and be given a buzzer to bring back to your table, with employees then bringing your order out to you as the restaurant has operated before. Employees said this may change in the future, where those who have a reservation can order directly from their table in the solarium, but for now, this is how the reservations are working. Solarium eet is located in the Marketplace section of Disney Springs (close to Earl of Sandwich and Rainforest Cafe), where it serves up “traditional flavor with modern flair.” Shareables include a bread service and DIY Pani Puri along with Tandoori Chicken Poutine. You can order an array of different naan options or opt for a Chicken Tikka Naan Pizza on the Pizza & Breads menu. If you’re a do-it-yourself kind of person, then you might enjoy the option to BYOB (Build-your-own-BOWL)! What if we told you there was an eBay-like marketplace where you could purchase trips that other people can no longer use? Lookout Cay SpareFare is changing the travel game by matching people looking to sell nonrefundable trips at steep discounts, and according to the Wall Street Journal, it might just be the best thing travel has seen in years. As a travel nerd and Disney expert, SpareFare sounds like a great way to score some stellar vacations for CHEAP. Founded in 2016, this marketplace pairs travelers looking to sell nonrefundable trips, flights, and hotel stays they can’t use, to those looking to travel at a bargain. Air travel One traveler, Samina Ahmed, was able to go on an all-inclusive trip to Thailand for just $1,200 — a trip that originally cost around $4,700. SpareFare — along with its competitors like Roomer, Plans Change, and Transfer Travel lets people buy trips from others who would otherwise see them wasted. The sites earn commission (like SpareFare’s 12%) on the transaction, but the rest goes to the seller. They avoid scams by holding funds from the seller until after the trip. Japan Pavilion For buyers, discounts are typically anywhere between 20% and 30% off the original price. If you’re willing to wait until 48 hours before departure — you can get an even better deal. Retirees and remote workers, i.e., those with flexible schedules, are SpareFare’s core customers. The most popular listings on the site are package holidays, with the biggest sale so far being a $46,000 two-week trip for two to Fiji’s all-inclusive Turtle Island resort. An investment manager in California bought it for a measly $33,000. Morocco Pavilion The idea of a travel resale market isn’t entirely new, but post-9/11, strict ID laws made casual transfers harder. Policies on name changes vary between carriers, so it’s best to call and check with an airline before buying a secondhand flight. Changing names can trigger alerts from software designed to flag human trafficking or money laundering. SpareFare has been known to fully refund travelers who might run into hiccups with transfers like this. Be considerate! It sounds relatively similar to how renting Disney Vacation Club points operates. Members who are unable to use their points or have already booked nonrefundable vacations can sell their points or trips to non-members looking to stay at DVC properties! If you decide to use a service like SpareFare, make sure you double-check all the details and confirm that the trip is able to be transferred. UK Pavilion We’ll be on the lookout for additional travel updates you might need to know about. In the meantime, make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest travel news and more! I’m a HUGE Disney World fan, but I’m about to convince you to switch sides. Me at Epic Universe I’ve been going to Disney World for my job for four years now, and that amounts to quite a few hours spent in the parks. On top of that, I’m just a generally hardcore Disney fan, and with my Annual Pass, I go to the parks as often as possible just for fun. (I even moved to Central Florida so that I could do just that!) But these days, I’m SEVERELY tempted to cheat on my favorite Disney World park. I know many of you may disagree with my opinion here, but I’m of the belief that the best Disney World park is Animal Kingdom. I love the theming, the entertainment, the live animals, and it doesn’t hurt that I’m particularly obsessed with both DINOSAUR (I will be hosting a one-woman sobfest in front of the ride when it closes next year) and Avatar (I love me some Pandora, y’all). A photo I took during a visit to Pandora last year! I could stand here all day. I would spend an entire day subsisting on a diet of cheeseburger pods and Nomad Lounge churros while doing nothing but watching Festival of the Lion King on repeat…and it would be the best day of my life (apologies to my husband — our wedding was lovely). So please do not take it lightly when I tell you that right now, I’m considering abandoning my favorite park…and cheating on Disney with Universal! Celestial Park in Epic Universe I recently visited Universal Orlando’s new theme park, Epic Universe, and as a major theme park nerd, I was pretty darn impressed. The theming was incredible, particularly for someone connected to the IPs there. I grew up playing Super Mario Bros and Mario Kart with my sister, and stepping into that land was like living a video game in real life. Isle of Berk took my favorite DreamWorks franchise and made it real through the power of character interactions and an incredible score. And for a girl who planned her senior trip to go to Diagon Alley at Universal Studios Florida after reading the Harry Potter books the first time — the girl who still reads the books again every year and listens to a Harry Potter podcast every week — stepping inside the Ministry of Magic was absolutely jaw-dropping. Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry I visited the park during one of its previews, so Universal was still working out some kinks. But even so, I stood in the middle of Celestial Park, wowed simply by the fact that I was inside a brand-new theme park. Visiting a new park in its first year is the kind of thing not everyone gets to experience, and I was grateful to just take in the atmosphere and appreciate the hard work that all the people behind the scenes had put into making Epic Universe happen. Epic Universe I was impressed with the snacks around the park, and some of the ride technology used in various attractions was mind-boggling. While the day overall wasn’t 100% perfect (I faced several attraction closures and a fairly average sit-down meal), I still left the park at the end of the day feeling pretty pumped. I can’t wait to go back. And honestly? If I have to do it at the expense of my favorite park, I will. The Portal to Dark Universe I don’t want to give up Animal Kingdom right now, but here’s the deal — it’s a little lackluster over there these days, and it’s only going to get worse in the coming months. The park still has some amazing attractions and entertainment, but with the Tree of Life Theater under construction for a new Zootopia show, part of DinoLand, U.S.A. shut down, and the other part of DinoLand (including DINOSAUR) closing soon, it’s going to be DEAD. Construction Walls featuring Artwork for Tropical Americas With so few attractions available until the opening of the new Tropical Americas land, your ticket to Animal Kingdom is going to lose a little bit of its value. On top of that, the wait times for the remaining attractions may be longer due to an uneven dispersion of crowds. ©Disney || Tropical Americas Land coming to Animal Kingdom So if you’re looking to get a little more bang for your buck and have a fuller day, Epic Universe may be the move. Many fans are trying to find ways to fit Epic Universe into their upcoming vacations, and if you have to cut out a Disney theme park to do it, Animal Kingdom is the clear choice right now — as much as it pains me to say that. Don’t worry, though, my favorite park will be back with a VENGEANCE in a few years! Disney’s Animal Kingdom We’ll make sure to keep you in the loop with any more news about the changes coming to Animal Kingdom. To see our ultimate guide to the park, check out the video below. Let’s be real — Florida heat doesn’t mess around. Whether you’re park-hopping in the middle of July or just trying to survive the walk from your hotel to the bus stop without melting, you need a game plan for staying cool. So cute! Luckily, we found a bunch of Amazon bestsellers that are perfect for beating the heat — and some of them are even on sale right now for around $10. These aren’t just cute gadgets or gimmicks. These are the lifesavers you’ll be glad you packed when you’re standing in line for Jungle Cruise and wondering if your face is still attached. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Neck Cooling Tube Neck Cooling Tube This thing is magic. It looks like a simple band that sits around your neck, but it’s made with Phase Change Material — so it literally freezes below 64°F and stays cool longer than anything water-based. You just pop it in the freezer before you head out, and it keeps your neck chilled without that wet, soggy towel feeling. The outer layer is wrapped in soft TPU, so it won’t freeze-burn your skin, and it’s molded as one solid piece — no stitching, no leaks. It’s lightweight (around 5 oz), totally reusable, and it actually fits the curve of your neck. If you’re doing a summer trip to Disney, this is a must-have. View on Amazon Cute Mouse Misting Mini Fan Cute Mouse Misting Mini Fan This little handheld fan is not just adorable — it’s powerful. With a built-in rechargeable battery, dual 7-blade fans, and three different speed levels, it packs way more punch than you’d expect from something that can fit in your park bag. And yes, the misting function works — just fill up the built-in 15ml water tank and press to mist. It sprays intermittently while the fan runs and gives your face that nice, refreshing cooling boost. It’s great for makeup touch-ups, post-ride sweaty moments, or when your kids are spiraling from the heat. View on Amazon JISULIFE Handheld Mini Fan JISULIFE Handheld Mini Fan If you’re the kind of person who loves a good multitasker (same), this one’s for you. The JISULIFE mini fan is basically your travel Swiss Army knife: it’s a fan, a flashlight, and a backup phone charger — all in one. It folds, it transforms, and it fits in your pocket. You can use it handheld or stand it up on a table. It runs up to 19 hours on one charge, and the flashlight comes in clutch for night walks or when you drop something under your seat at a dark fireworks show. Honestly, it’s the kind of thing you’ll forget you packed — until it saves you at 3 PM on Main Street. View on Amazon Sukeen 4 Pack Cooling Towel Sukeen 4 Pack Cooling Towel These microfiber towels are the OG cooling hack. Just wet them, wring them, and snap them. The material is super breathable and uses moisture to pull heat away from your skin. They stay cool for up to three hours, and since they come in a 4-pack, you can toss one in every bag (or just hand them out like favors when your group starts overheating). Each one comes with its own pouch and a carabiner clip, so they’re easy to hang on backpacks or strollers. Perfect for workouts, parade-watching, or when you accidentally schedule your Lightning Lane at 2:00 PM. View on Amazon JISULIFE Neck Fan JISULIFE Neck Fan This one’s for all of us who want to be hands-free. The JISULIFE Neck Fan looks like a pair of headphones, but instead of music, it blasts cool air all around your neck and face through 78 air vents. And since it has no exposed blades, it’s totally safe for kids. It runs for up to 16 hours, depending on the speed (there are five to choose from), and it’s surprisingly quiet — like, you-can-hear-your-own-thoughts quiet. It’s sleek, comfy, and won’t mess up your hair. Throw it on and go. You’ll thank yourself later. View on Amazon Cooling Patches Cooling Patches If you’re more of a set-it-and-forget-it type, these cooling gel patches are a solid bet. You peel, stick, and boom — instant cooling. They’re made with a plant-based hydrogel that feels cool on contact and can help with everything from sunstroke to headaches to just general heat exhaustion. They’re flexible, not greasy, and safe for both kids and adults. Keep a few in your bag for emergencies or surprise fevers (because yes, somehow those still happen on vacation). View on Amazon UV Umbrella UV Umbrella Don’t sleep on this one. A UV-blocking umbrella might sound dramatic, but when you’re standing in line in full sun, it’s a game-changer. This one is compact (it folds down to just under 7 inches), super lightweight, and coated with a black UPF 50+ lining that reflects and absorbs UV rays. It’s wind-resistant with six reinforced ribs, and it comes with its own case — which makes it a great little gift too. Stick it in your park bag, and your future self will be so grateful. View on Amazon Black Shark Phone Cooler It fits right on back! This one’s more niche, but hear us out: if you’re the type to play mobile games or constantly check the My Disney Experience app, your phone will overheat in the sun. The Black Shark phone cooler attaches directly to your phone with a clip-on design and drops your device’s temp fast — up to 24°C cooler. It’s small, quiet, and effective. Yes, it needs to be plugged in, but if you’re carrying a portable charger (you should be), this isn’t a problem. It’s a smart add-on if you’re planning on using your phone for everything while at the parks. We are LESS than a month away from the start of the 2025 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival. In fact, we are 24 days away to be exact (and yes, we are most definitely counting the days!) We are getting more and more excited for the start of the festival — and we are also still eagerly waiting for Disney to release the menus for this year’s festival. Any day now, Disney, any day now! 2024 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival While we wait, though, there are 5 major changes we are expecting at this year’s Food and Wine Festival, and they might matter more than you think! So, let’s take a look at these changes so you can be as prepared as possible. Special Events We were SO excited when Disney announced the return of a special event for this year’s festival: Le Petit Déjeuner Français at Chefs de France in the France Pavilion. This special event invites you to indulge in a traditional French breakfast experience with all you can eat french pastries, baguettes, cheeses, charcuterie, smoked salmon, fresh fruit, mimosas, fruit juices, coffee, and more. Palmier Pastry at Chefs de France Breakfast We haven’t seen this special event since before 2020, and we have been hoping for the return of special events for years now! While, so far, this is the only special event that has been announced we hope this means we could see the return of more events like Party for the Senses or Cheese Seminars. CommuniCore Hall and Plaza CommuniCore Hall and Plaza will likely be undergoing another transformation for the festival. While we are dearly hoping for the return of cooking seminars, Disney hasn’t announced what will be coming to CommuniCore Hall and Plaza just yet. During last year’s Food and Wine Festival, the Hall was home to the Macatizers food booth, and you could also shop festival merchandise. CommuniCore Hall during Food and Wine 2024 We have seen this space be updated for each festival, so we will likely see another update for the Food & Wine Festival! We don’t know what exactly will be in this space, but we have enjoyed the exhibits in here for past festivals. We definitely recommend making a stop by to check it out! Eat to the Beat Concert Series The Eat to the Beat Concert Series is included with your admission to EPCOT. You can also book an Eat to the Beat Dining Package if you would like reserved seating at the concert, though. There are a couple of new performers this year including The Beach Boys, Jordin Sparks, Bowling for Soup, and more. Eat to the Beat Concert Series These new performers could potentially draw large audiences, so you will want to plan accordingly. Of course, we don’t know for sure what type of crowds they will have, and other popular performers will likely still draw large crowds. If you are really wanting to have seats to see a particular performer, check out the Eat to the Beat Dining Packages for reserved seating! Check out the FULL Eat to the Beat Concert Series Line-Up! Global Marketplace Food Booths While we are still waiting for the official menus, we can definitely expect some new food options at the Global Marketplace Food Booths! While some dishes stay the same from year to year, we also get to try some new offerings each year. Plus, there is also the possibility of there being a brand-new booth, too. We can’t wait to see what is on the menus this year. Milled & Mulled Full Spread If you have been coming for multiple years, you might want to prioritize trying new dishes! Of course, stay tuned to DFB as we will be posting the FULL menus once they are released. As well, our team will be in EPCOT for opening day to try out everything the festival has to offer — including the new menu items. We will be bringing you our full reviews, so make sure to check those out if you are interested in the new menu items but want to know what they are like before you spend money on them! Living with the Land Finally, the Living with the Land attraction usually receives a special overlay for the Food & Wine Festival. The theme varies from year to year and festival to festival, but you might notice that the ride has a bit higher wait time than normal. Plus, the ride is also an escape from the heat and thunderstorms, so you might find it has even longer wait times in the afternoons! Food and Wine Overlay in 2024 The 2025 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival runs from August 28th until November 22nd. During the festival, you can explore the Global Marketplace Food Booths, check out the Eat to the Beat Concert Series, go on themed scavenger hunts, and more. Full Spread at Greece! If you want to get a head start on what to expect during the 2025 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, make sure to check out our video about the festival in 2024. While things will change from year to year, the video will give you a great idea of what to expect! Have you ordered your copy of Disney Adults: Exploring (and Falling in Love with) a Magical Subculture yet?! ‘Disney Adults’ by AJ Wolfe To celebrate the release of the book, AJ has partnered with some Disney World restaurants for a Disney Adults treat crawl! With exclusive drinks created JUST for the book’s release, you can go on the crawl and enjoy these exclusive drinks from August 1st through August 31st. Right now, we’re bringing you a review from Everglazed Donuts & Cold Brew in Disney Springs! Before we get to the review, make sure you order a copy of Disney Adults ASAP. The book officially releases on August 5th, and it’s a must-have for anyone who considers themselves a Disney Adult. This book is a “fascinating and enlightening deep dive into the infamous Disney Adult community from the woman behind the popular website The Disney Food Blog,” our very own AJ Wolfe! The drinks on this crawl were exclusively created in partnership with a group of Disney World restaurants to celebrate the release of Disney Adults. These limited-time treats will be available from August 1st through 31st, so you’ll want to get to Disney World ASAP to check them out! This book is a must-read You can also grab a map and a full list of the crawl here by signing up for the DFB newsletter. ORDER ON AMAZON ORDER A SIGNED COPY HERE! Over at Everglazed Donuts & Cold Brew in Disney Springs, you can grab the Disney Adults Refresher for $6.50. This is made with Blue Raspberry Monin syrup and a white cranberry juice base. Disney Adults Refresher It’s got the perfect name because y’all, it’s SO refreshing and much lighter than the alcoholic drinks on this crawl. It doesn’t taste super syrupy, and it has a nice sweetness balanced with a hint of tartness. It’s not a sweet or as strong as a full juice — it’s cut with water to help with the “refreshing” part, and it totally works. It’s similar in taste to a blue raspberry slushie, but definitely toned down and not as sweet. Think of a like a grown-up blue raspberry slushie that’s had the chance to melt — we loved it! Super refreshing We’ll be on the lookout for more updates you need to know about from Disney World. Keep an eye out for more Disney Adults Treat Crawl reviews! In case you missed it, our very own founder, AJ from DisneyFoodBlog, is releasing her very own book! The book is called Disney Adults: Exploring (And Falling In Love With) A Magical Subculture, and it releases on August 5th! ‘Disney Adults’ by AJ Wolfe We have been eagerly awaiting this moment, and to celebrate, we have collaborated with restaurants throughout Disney World to do a twist on what we know best – Disney food and drink! We’ve created The Disney Adults Crawl, and now we’re headed to Splitsville Luxury Lanes to add another sip to the list. Before we dive in, be sure to pre-order your book! It’s a must-have for anyone who considers themselves a Disney Adult. This book is a “fascinating and enlightening deep dive into the infamous Disney Adult community from the woman behind the popular website The Disney Food Blog.” To celebrate the launch of AJ’s new book, Disney Adults, we are working our way through the Disney Adults Crawl around Disney World. This crawl features 8 “Disney Adult” themed treats that can be found around EPCOT and Disney Springs. Over in Disney Springs, we stopped by Splitsville to test out the very blue Big Wave Dave! Big Wave Dave! This drink costs $16 and is made with Wheatley Vodka, grain alcohol, and blue raspberry! This one felt like tasting the ocean without all the salt. The vodka was so smooth, it was barely noticeable, which we loved. SO BLUE! It reminded us of a blueberry lemonade, so be prepared for some tart flavors. The toppings are so cute and made us feel like we were sitting right on the beach, relaxing the day away. PLUS, how cute is that mini Disney Adults book topper? A closer look! This drink is one you can’t go wrong with if you’re looking to cool down from the heat or need a sweet, but familiar adult beverage. This limited-time drink will be available from August 1st through 31st, so you’ll want to get to Disney Springs ASAP to grab it. If you’re looking for an even more exclusive drink, you can also swing by Summer House on the Lake. For one day only, on August 5th (yep, the book’s official release date), you can order the Mischief Mai Tai with Wicked dolphin coconut rum, orgeat, blue curaçao, and lemon juice. Summer House on the Lake in Disney Springs If you want the exclusive crawl map and menus, you can grab that here by signing up for the DFB newsletter for FREE! If you just want a list of the items available on the crawl, you can find them right here. We are so, so excited to have our very own crawl around Disney World to celebrate the release of Disney Adults. This really feels like a full circle moment for our entire team!
